There were maybe a dozen titles that Sinjin had worn since graduating from Hollywood Arts. In the twelve years since, he'd been a student, going to collage, only to take on the roll of a VP in his fathers company. Executive, producer, helping Jade make her first film, then having his hand in with the production company she started, the boy never let go of his love of entertainment. He even started his own small company, almost a wholly owned subsidiary of his fathers companies, that specialized in helping design and maintain the FX equipment used by theaters, movies and Television. Hardly the only one, his had the edge that it's two designers, him and Jade, seemed to be able to make notable improvements in the equipment, to the point where the two had, one drunken evening in collage, shifted the way movies needed to rig for sound. It was a small change, barely worth the fee for the patent, but the finances from that alone had built both his company, and Jade's production company as well.

Yes, Inventor, producer, executive, president, Sinjin had worn all those labels. He'd added to the list, as the years went by. Like how he met Sandra in collage, and after her stalker like ex warned him off, he braved the large boys wrath to ask her out. 'Of course, back then, Jade had so much less to lose, and kinda needed me, so she was willing to help fight my battles. Glad she did. No way I could have beaten his ass like she did. In front of his whole frat too. Boy learned his lesson, yes he did. Don't mess with me, or one of my friends will kick your ass." The smile on his face lasted, despite the now difficult situation he found himself in. See, with all those titles, now including husband and father, the new one he was embracing today was teacher.

The room looked different, which made sense given that the old Hollywood Arts building was torn down and a new one built. Sinjin also had to admit they'd gone and shifted the way the classes were taught, as well as adding security, like the open school policy of the past was the reason they had an average of three disappearances per year back when he went. But the other reason it looked so different, beyond the tech, the security, the colors, and the people, was that now, he was at the head of the classroom, ready to teach a subject he understood far better then most. 'They claimed that Robbie was the master of Tech theater. Funny, cause while he may have held the high score, he never understood the minutia the way I did. The way the technology is just an aid, an addition to the old ways of doing things, improvements that don't necessarily replace the tried and true. Research, knowing what we're doing, even if it's just creating a background for a play, is as important a creative release as writing the darn thing.' He shifted, killing time before his first class shuffled in. 'How many times have I had that argument with Jade now, hmm?' He mussed.

"Um, Mister Van Cleef?" A nervous looking man maybe three years older then lanky boy interrupted.

"Mister James, right?" Sinjin guessed.

"Yea, and I just wanted you to know, this is all very new to me…" He gestured around. "And I taught high school drama for over five years before getting this job. I mean…"

"Professional level equipment." Sinjin interrupted. "Which is why we're using more professionals these days. Hell, I understand their trying to rope miss West into giving at least a seminar on writing, as if that won't give them nightmares." He chuckled.

"Sorry, what now?" The teacher looked confused.

"This is a performing arts school." The younger man corrected himself. "Which is why they asked me, and people like me, to tag team with you professional teachers. We're gonna teach these kids how the big boys do things. Cutting edge equipment, or at least whats in theaters and on sound stages right now. It's giving back…"

"And we do appreciate that." Mister James assured the boy. "We really do. I just…" He exhaled.

"You're used to the old ways, right?" Sinjin asked. "Yea, that's just it. We think like nothing changes, and then it does, and we're left in the lurch. Just think about how quickly technology shifts. Lighting and sound are difficult subjects, but me and my partner, business that is, cause my wife would hate it if I was stepping out on her, and her wife would be hurt too. Not the psychotic one in the relationship, but still don't want her mad at me. Tori Vega doesn't forget, or forgive lightly."

"Wait, you know Tori Vega?" The shock in the mans voice spoke of disbelief and maybe a touch impressed.

"Went to school with her." Sinjin said. "Look over the next eight to ten months, you'll no doubt hear loads of stories about the adventures I went through in High school. That'll include my friends, as well as how my business partner became my friend, as well as came out of that closet, her that is, which was hard, cause one of my closest friends in the world is her ex." He looked off towards the wall. "Not that hard to believe, given who he is, as well as how they really were friends after their love died."

Dropping the subject quickly, least he be lost in his own past, Sinjin pushed forward. "So, lets start easy. You run the student part of the class, and I'll tech how the equipment works. You'll have plenty of time to go hands on, really learn this chiz, over the next year. And, with luck, this program will still be going next year, so I can teach a part time load then too."

"That's up to Principal Sikowitz and the school board." Mister James noted. "And you know the principal, don't you."

"We have time for one quick story, right?" Sinjin started, smiling as he added storyteller to the list of titles he held.
