"Would you stop undressing him?" Tori growled.
"I'm not undressing him.' Jade huffed. "Now literally, and certainly not in my mind, which you seem to think I'm obsessing about. I mean, really, every time we get a reasonably attractive roommate, you go all jealous. Who does that?"
"Asked the girl who threatened Cooter Brown." Tori chuckled around the words. "Man, you used to be so jealous, and now, I swear, it's like your getting me back for every boy I ever glanced at. Jade, I love you. I wanna spend eternity with you. Get that through your head, and stop thinking about how pretty that new boy is. I mean, yea Beckett is an attractive man, but can he really give you what I can? Or are you bored of me already?"
"Wow, we're already at guilt?" The pale girl asked. "Babe, I'm just being friendly. I mean, he moved in, and he accepts us. That's not as easy as you'd think. As open minded as they've gotten in this day and age, finding someone who just accepts us is still so hard. I mean, I remember when we first met, and you told me your parents included a Hispanic. Tanned skin Hispanic. I remember thinking how that must have been a strain on your life…."
"Only I was born in California." Tori reminded her girl. "We've always been forward thinkers here. And, and, and look how far we've come, in only...' Her fingers moved as she counted.
"We don't need to figure how long it's been." Jade sighed. "I like Beck. I'm rooting for him. That Catarina girl, I think she's a good person, but he loves her for the wrong reasons. He wants to be her knight in shining armor, save her from the dragons in her mind. Only, once he does that, she'll become boring, and he'll want to move on. He needs to either find a girl who's problems walk that special line between just tolerable enough, but still not going away any time soon, or he needs to let go of that desire to fix them and accept them for who they are. Either way, and he'll find himself a winner, like I did." She flashed her smile, broad and warm and full of suggestions that used to make Tori blush. Used to, because Tori no longer blushed at the thoughts of what they did together. Instead, she embraced it, loving her girl and the ways they expressed that love.
"I think that Katarina girl is a better fit." Tori told her girl. "You know, Trina… Same last name as me, so you know she comes from a good family.." The Latina smiled, a secret joke on her lips
"You think you're related, and want to help your family." Jade sighed. "Yea, you've always been like that. Okay, what do we do with Cat then? I mean, she's really sweet. Super sweet. Giving me diabetes here, just thinking about her."
"His friend Robbie..." Tori started.
"Is a puppet carrying freak." Jade finished.
"So, um, Andre?" Tori tried.
"Yea, maybe." Jade said. "Funny, was a time when even I would have shrunk at the thought of a negro dating a white woman, and you know my history."
"Yea, I do." Jade nuzzed int her girl. "Wanna watch some television?"
"I wanna go on line, learn some more fun things." Tori husked.
"Yea, porn. Anonymous education into just how far we've come, and how far we have yet to go." Jade agreed. "But Beck asked us to stop using his account. You tend to forget the popups, and he finds all kinds of things left on the screen when he comes home. He uses that computer for work."
"Did you catch what he does, cause I have no idea who, besides a writer, would need that thing." Tori said, slipping from her girls grasp to slink over to where Beck had set up his computer, near his bed. "Okay, there's so much to watch, but he doesn't make any of that, so why does he need it for work?" Her fingers were already moving, typing in the secret password she'd acquired just a few days before, unlocking the device and securing access to the internet, and Beck's email. "Help me compose a note to Trina. Invite her over. Might as well get that part started."
Jade placed her chin on Tori's shoulder, giving her a view of the screen. Quickly the email was composed, with Jade offering corrections before auto correct could mangle it to unreadable. "So, what kind of reward do I get for helping ruin his relationship?' She whispered in her lovers ear.
"Really? Again?" Beck asked, having entered almost unnoticed thanks to the girls being busy on the computer. A flick of the wrist and the lights were on, something the girls often forgot to do, simply because they could see in the dark just fine. "What are you doing now?" He strode over to glare at the screen. "At least it's not porn." His body deflated. "This time…."
"He's mad." Jade whispered. "Maybe we should go...'
"No, we need to explain things to him." Tori insisted. "He's dating a girl who won't make him happy. We need to fix this."
"What I get for asking for forever." Jade rolled her eyes, and reached for the keyboard.
Words formed on the screen, letting the handsome boy know who was there. Tori doesn't think you and Cat have a future. Maybe you should try dating that nice Trina girl you met the other day.
"Have you been stalking me again?" He groaned. "You know, when we agreed to coexist, it was under the assumption that you couldn't leave the apartment. So, how do you know anything about Trina?"
The old rancho was a thousand acres. Jade wrote, even as Tori beamed with pride. We can go anywhere that was once part of her families land, so the corner store, still withing our distance. Besides, we told you, eternity can get boring. That's why you gave us access to cable…
Beck groaned. "Man, who'd have thought being haunted would involve such an invasion of privacy…"

Yet another Halloween story, this one I wrote a while ago. Hardly complete, but it doesn't need to be. Just enjoy.
