Disclaimer: I don't own Victorious or any of it's characters.
Also, I don't play on line gaming. Just an FYI, cause this chapter is about gaming. I made most of the chiz up. So, as realistic as what you'd expect from Nickelodeon.

Jade cursed again, her focus now totally immersed in the video world she was set to destroy. 'Okay, trying to save something, I think, but the purpose is to kill. I worked hard all day, and jam it, I'm gonna kill something. Anyone get In my way, I take them out.'
Jade had drifted to this game due to the adult content. Specifically, the blood. It claimed one of the goriest experiences available, and she found a dark satisfaction at the way things died to the different weapons she could bring to bear. However, this time, she was faced with a rare moment, someone was better then she was. 'Okay, we've tried everything, and so far, the main problem is, this is a fighting game. Can't just shoot them and move on. No, no sniping from a nice, safe place. I mean, I've done it, but then I don't get that fun up close experience. Sides, sniping doesn't take down everyone.'
The worst part was this person had an odd build, a magic wielder in this fantasy world, only due to a flaw in the design, it was easy enough to build up resistances to most of the elemental attacks the mystics used. 'It's easier to have an enchanter as an ally or follower, and just build up my arsenal. No one worth their salt arms themselves with just elemental attacks. Only, this guy, he's found a way to bypass my layered resistances. Only reason I'm still alive is this time, we wound up both being attacked by some randoms.'
The game was complicated by being both a fantasy adventure, and if you played on the open forums, a fighting game where it was often team verses team. That meant it was easy enough to find someone in the middle of battle and take advantage of their weekend state. It also meant that sometimes, a near boss level monster, complete with minions, would show up before the conclusion of a duel. A duel Jade was losing thanks to the odd mix of magics she was facing.
'They need me.' Jade realized as she cut down another foe. 'They've been lacing their attack spells with anti-healing. That means they're a healer. A bad intentions healer. Damn, they're not great against undead, unless they took the extra effort to develop….Yep, life burst. A Necro-healer. Damn, you think they're just a myth, and then someone somehow survives long enough to actuality play one. This guy is a fucking legend for doing that much. Only, the boss, resistant to life energy, cause they hate healers in this game. Gonna need me to…'
Jade almost dropped her controller at what happened next. The other guy fell behind her, and with a wave, the expected betrayal happened. Only, instead of her stats dropping, they buffed. Her speed, strength, damage, everything leapt up. 'Variable nerco-healer? No way, cause the expense of doing that would be unfathomable. They'd go up so slow, and be so weak for so long. I mean, how? How did they do this, and why haven't I heard of them before, cause this, you know I'd have heard if they were sponging. So who s this, and how…?'
Jade's fingers danced across her controller as she moved forward, knowing her roll now. 'I'm DPR, and they'd gonna heal and buff me. They switched rolls so smoothly, like they know how to play each part. Man, who is this, and why haven't I been gaming with them before?'
The fight was uncomfortably long, with Jade finding it hard to keep going. Each wave of attacks from the boss was beyond anything she'd faced, to the point where she wished she had a full team, instead of going in looking for duels. 'This boss is a group challenge, but with only the two of us, no way we're winning.' Still, the smile on her porcelain face was telling. To the goth, only sex was better, and that assumed she had the chance to prep, cause Beck didn't seem to understand foreplay, no mater how many pamphlets on the subject she left around for him to read. 'By the third video, you'd think he'd get the hint, and focus Jade! Almost got killed, and we've finally made it through the bosses damage aura. I can kill him now, assuming I pile up the damage.'
Jade layered her attacks, not worrying much about defending, or renewing her ablative defenses. Instead, she placed her very well being in the hands of this variable necro-healer who fate had placed in her corner as she realized just how high up this particular sub boss was. Her health rose and fell quickly, but the damage she was dealing was making an impact, until the boss finally fell before her.
Exhausted, emotionally at least, Jade wiped sweat from her brow, and after making sure no one was around to see, she opened her mike to wish the other player well. "Neither of us is in any shape to finish out our duel. Sides, we should take the loot drop while we can, cause no way we're getting as large a share in the redo."
"Out of mana, so thinking you're right." The voice from the other side said, distorted the way so many players, Jade included, liked to do. There was something fun about totally being someone else for the day. "Not that I don't have a few tricks up my sleeve…"
"But even half of this drop is gonna fill our inventories." Jade finished. "Yea, best to take what we can, and go heal. So, until next time, Deathmaiden Blackheart signing off."
The other figure saluted. "ThePerfectMagi sighing off." The other figure said.
Jade made a note to look him up again when she had the chance. 'Gotta finish that duel…. Wonder, could be do the Shmogenwrath run, just the two of us? That guy, he was… God, Jade, pull it together. Probably some nerdy guy into the game cause he has nothing else in his life. Just...Pull it together and stop fantasizing about who he might be. This is worse then the thoughts I had back in high school when Vega was helping me get into that stupid hamburger. God, Gay much? Oh well, at least I had Beck, until he went of and… Who's on line? I have another character, and think I need to kill something…'
Elsewhere, also in Los Angeles, only in the dorms of UCLA as opposed to CalArts, a figure took her playing gear off. Trina Vega had spent years secretly mastering this game, originally because she'd heard Beck was into it, but after, cause the world was such a challenge, and it was one of the few places her hard work seemed to pay off. "Man, that girl, best mix tank-brawler I've ever seen. Not easy to make one of those. Honestly, thought I'd lose the entire run's haul, before we found Highbrok. Man, I thought I'd never find him. That's bonus exp for finishing that background quest…' Her mind drifted briefly to the fight. "Deathmaden Blackheart… Gonna have to face her again. Wonder, she the type to try some of the hellborn quests?'

So, thoughts? Please, tell me this was at least some fun.
