Enjoy this chapter and the next, which will be out soon too!

Peter was left was the realization of what had happened. He unknowingly took down Liz's brother. Maybe if he'd have listened to what he was saying maybe thinks could have could down better.

"Hey, earth to Peter?" Gwen said, confused.

"Yes, sorry, what?"

"You didn't know it was her brother, huh?"

"No of course not. I um heard about that guy causing that massive fire I don- hey um where's Liz's is she here today?

"No, Judging by my info of how police work, she's being questioned."

"What? Why? She wouldn't do anything!"

"Well, that's what there making sure. The police need to know what happened. I mean, she had to have known that he was a mutation. What if she's one? That'd be, interesting, to say the least."

"I can't believe this is happening. I want to make sure she's okay."

"Well, one she's with the police. Two, she can take care of herself and three. She's not going to come back here, most likely. You know how people here are. They wouldn't let her forget about it. Also, not to mention her living situation now, her brother's going to jail."

"Why are you so interested in this? You've been putting so much thought into this mess."

"You care about Liz, and I feel sorry for her. I want to get the facts straight, so maybe I could help or something."

"That's really sweet of you to do."

"Well, it's the least I could do. Though I'm also going to convince Harry to give her some money. He's got so much he won't care."

"Isn't that taking advantage of him? It seems not morally correct, expressly for you."

"If he's got money to help, he should use it."

"Your right, but still. It's taking advantage of him. It's not right."

"Shouldn't you be going to class. I got a spare so." She walked away.

Throughout the day, Liz was the talk of the school naturally after what happened, how couldn't she?

Peter felt terrible, which was also a seemly pair for the course.

During lunch, Peter overheard some of Liz's friend's talking about her. Including Flash. He had come to terms with being a snoop after being Spider-Man for a couple of months. All part of the job description and this technical had to do with Spider-Man.

"I never trusted Mark!" One of them said. Peter never learned that guy's name.

"You never met him," Flash replied.

"I meet him once briefly. He was kinda cute." Another one of her friends said. Peter thought their name was Randy, but he wasn't sure. This did make Peter realize that he might not have known that much about the people around Liz. He ignored this for a moment and refocused on the conversion.

"I meet him. He seemed like a good brother."

"Yeah, well, cute does not mean good, duh." Another one of her friend Sally. Peter was slightly more formally with her. She wasn't an excellent friend, in his opinion, to say the least.

"Her brother always seemed useless."

"Hey Sal, we should be talking about her brother like that behind her back. She cares about him."

"Yeah? How'd you know that? You hardly pay attention to her when you're with her!"

"That's just what you think."

"Well, Flash, she kinda seemed to think that." That friend of Liz who's name couldn't be remembered said rolling her eyes.

"Why didn't she say anything?"

"Yeah, right. Hey, Flash, do you listen to a word I'm saying or are you staring at my boobs." Sally replied.

"Can't I do both? Kidding, I hardly ever look, I swear."

"Hardly." Liz's friend said, rolling her eyes again.

"Better than my last few boyfriends," Sally replied.

"I do listen to her. I guess I should've let her know that I did care about her. I should see her after school."

"How are you going to do that, dumbass. Her apartment blew up. Who knows where she is now."

"Oh yeah. That sucks."

Understatement. Peter thought nearing, saying it out loud.

Peter lost interest as they switched gears into random topics. If they could even be called that.

He did have to admit, hearing Flash be sympathetic was pretty weird. From Peter's perspective, Flash was always the bully that terrorized him throughout school their whole time in school. Heck, it went back all the way to Kindergarten.

Thinking about that, Mark was one of the older kids at one point. It was only for one grade as he went off to a different school. He never got to know him, but still, it was interesting how much had changed since then.

Mark Allen sat in a police interrogation room. He had a shock collar and armed guards to keep him in check. His power was very intimating, of course, they did not know the reality of his situation. Nearly everyone claims their innocent.

A woman walked in and motioned the guards to leave.

"I thought this would be better one on one, Mr. Allen." The woman said.

"Who are you?"

"The captain of this precinct. My name's Captain Watanabe, I'm going to be doing the questioning because of your, particular circumstances let's say."

"Because you think I'm a freak?" Mark replied, failing to get comfortable as he was handcuffed to the table via hands and lags.

"If your not a mutant, what are you?"

"You wouldn't believe me. I tried telling the other cops, I mean officers. They didn't listen, they just locked me up all night."

"We needed to make sure you wouldn't do anything drastic Mr. Allen. Regarding your story, indulge me."

"Hey, shouldn't I have a lawyer or something? I've watched tv."

"I have a feeling you can't afford one. So the only person you'll be talking to in this room is me."

"Okay, well, I got approached by this girl, and she heard about my money troubles. I gamble from time to time. You know? Anyways she hocked me up with these people genius type. They wore these yellow hazmat suits, really creepy still I needed money, so I accepted it."

"Yellow hazmat gear with A's in their chests?" She asked, cutting him up.

"Yeah, does that mean anything?"

"Possibly, continue, please."

"So she told me they were paying a lot if I just test this drug, take these pills for a few weeks and see what happens. At this point, I don't have a choice. I owed money to bad people after all that crap that went down with Hydra. They wanted me to hurry. And I mean these people seemed to be semi-legit with how much money they had put into there stuff it looked really pricey. I mean they had more advanced tech then I've ever seen! I listened, I figured they didn't care about my safety, but they were paying every day I took a pill. It added it up it was looking good, until yesterday." He hesitated to continue.

"What's wrong." She slowly got up.

"It's just hard, remembering how it all went so wrong out of nowhere."

"Are you calm?"

"Yes."

She sat back down. "Keep going. please."

"Yesterday, around this time, I started feeling so hot like I mean warm-hot.

"That's my definition of hot."

"Well, I started feeling worse and worse, so I went home after going out with a friend. On the way, I began to change. My body became hard and stiff. It became Yellowish and glowy. From then, it only got worse. I put my hands on a wall then a building with on fire. I ran, but as I did more buildings caught fire. I was close to home, so I ran inside and hid. It becomes more a haze from then on."

"I gathered from the report that you unknowingly destroyed your apartment building as your powers overwhelmed you."

"Yes, I remember Spider-Man. He tried stopping me. I attacked him by accident. I did a lot of recking to my block, huh?"

"Yeah, sincerely lucky that nobody died. You'd be never getting out of jail."

"How long?"

"I can't tell you for sure. You're looking roughly at 7-10 years. It depends if any more charges are added and your assistance with information on A.I.M. You'd have to discuss that with another department. They'll see you soon enough."

Mark teared up. "My sister?"

"I can't help you with that." She paused. I think it's near-certain that your not a mutation, just an experiment. With your destress at the moment, your powers would have gone off if you had any naturally. The tech people will have to do more work before they can come to a conclusion."

"You don't understand. My sister. I'm all she has, and our home's gone. What will she do!" He started yelling.

"I'm afraid I can't help you." She got up to leave. "Perhaps you should have thought more about that before getting in hot water. It leaves burns if you're not careful enough." She left the room, letting the guards come back in and escort him to holding once more.

Liz Allen sat in the same police station as her brother. She had not seen him since the morning before his outburst as far as she knew. She got loads of calls all day but ignored them all. She knew they'd all just be giving their sympathy and asking if she was okay, then though it was pretty obvious how she felt to anyone that genuinely knew her anyways.

"Ms. Allen?" Caption Watanabe said, approaching her.

She brought Liz to a different interrogation room.

"Do you know why you're here?" She asked, staring at her with a sympathetic look.

"Yes, because of my brother. He made a lot of mistakes. Including blowing up our building."

"Indeed, did you know about anything going on? This is just between you and me."

"No. He kept me in the dark, guess I finally know why. I would've talked him out of all this."

"I sure you would've tried."

"Mark listens to me, if I tried hard enough. Had I'd known, I promise you he'd never be so stupid."

"I should tell you he will be going to jail. The best case is 7 years. I'm going to have to call foster care just to make sure you have a roof over your head, I am genuinely sorry."

"That's it? He was tricked and not only that, it was all for me. This is my fault, not his. Punish me."

"No evidence would have you be involved. Ms. Allen be happy that you still get a chance at making your life better than his. I'll be hard, of course, but you must go on without him. This is not your fault, it's his mistake. He could've backed out before things got bad, he dug his grave don't join him."

"I have nothing left, how am I supposed to survive?"

"You'll find a way. People will be here for you in a couple hours. Wait where you were before, please."

Liz went and waited broken down. Her phone continued to react to messages. She reluctantly looked at her texts and missed calls. Her friends, including Flash and Peter, all sent texts. Surprisingly enough, Flash tried the hardest.

Liz deiced that only one of her friends proved to be the most promising true friend.

"Hey, Peter?"

"Liz! Hey! How are you!"

"I'm alright. How are you?

"Worried about you, where are you? If I may ask, of course."

"Don't be, and I'm at a police station. They were questioning me about my brother."

"Could I swing by? You could use a friend."

"Yeah, I guess. Your the only one I've responded to all day. I'll text you the address."

"That makes me feel great, trust me, I'm smiling. I'll be there shortly." Loud noises could be heard from Peter's end.

"What's happening?"

"Oh, that, just a couple of guys causing trouble on the bus, not to worry. Not a big deal. Got to go, see you soon."

Peter evaded gunfire as he hung up the phone. He mistakingly stumbled upon a group of criminals trying to torch a warehouse.

He easily beat them back in a matter of minutes and called the police. He was cerous about what was going on, but his priority had to be on Liz for right now.

"Hey, Liz!" Peter said upon seeing her in the waiting area.

"Hey." She replied, not looking at him just staying focused on her phone.

"So, do you want to talk about, you know."

"Not really, how's school. I know Sally's properly having a blast from all the attention this is going to bring her."

"That's not true, I hope."

"Flash was sending me loads of texts. Thought my phone was going to explode."

"It was weird, I overhead him worrying about you at lunch. Blew my mind."

"Mark always told me he thought there was more to Flash then what he shows at school. I said a lot of people, including himself, were like that. Trying to put up this barrier to fit the norm. I thought Mark was smart, clearly, I was wrong."

Peter said nothing, just looking down at the ground.

"A part of me blames Spider-Man for this."

This made Peter respond. "Why?" He tried asking casually, he was worried about where this was going.

"If he had not shown up, maybe Mark would've fixed everything. I bet he was not even given a chance to defend himself. Spider-Man just beat the crap out of him. They have not told me many details about what happened. I'm just piecing stuff together from what I heard. I could be wrong about everything, but I highly doubt it. That JJ guy's right, Spider-Man's just a menace."

Peter was unsure of how to respond, if he defended himself, it would be bad for Liz and maybe tip her off that he's Spider-Man. Or if he'd agree it'd be throwing himself under the bus. Which wouldn't help either. Silence was differently, not an option. So, it was time to defuse a bomb, which he set for himself by mistake.

"Maybe it was a misunderstanding?"

"Seems to be a lot of misunderstandings with that guy. Like that poor police officer who he was framed to have killed."

"That's true, I never met him. He just seems like a cool guy. Maybe not the best, definitely because of what he did to your brother. I'm sure he if knew I'd had gone better."

"That's what could have been. Unless he can turn back time."

"Well, you never know. I heard that Spiders use crystal balls to tell the future. Maybe it all served some higher propose."

She laughed. "How do you come up with that?"

"I'd like to say I came up with that myself. I'm nothing but a fraud who heard that from someplace. Considering where we are, I'm going to turn myself in for my bad jokes. Sure, I'll get a life sentence for what I've come up throughout my life."

"Yeah."

They both laughed. "Thank you for that Parker, I needed that."

"Don't fear I'm stuffed full of bad jokes. This and science are my area of expertise."

"Oh, crap," Liz said, ignoring what he said, seeing a police officer approached her with another woman. She knew what this meant before any words were spoken.

"Ms. Allen, this woman is from-" The female officer was cut off by Liz, "I know."

She got up and said nothing to Peter. Liz went off with her visibly, upset, but there was nothing that could be done.

Peter sighed and went on his way.

Back at the Parker home, talking with Aunt May would be essential in a time like this.

"That's horrible!" She exclaimed after Peter told her everything going on in Liz's life.

"I know, I wish I could help her someway, can you think of anything? You seem to be all-knowing."

May smiled and reached for his hand as they sat at the kitchen table. "You know I'm not. If I was, I'd know what exactly your not telling me still."

"That does not matter right now, Liz does."

"I know Peter. You care for her. Now, if you two stay in contact, you can continue to be her friend. That's really all you can do for her now."

"Your right, I just hope she's okay. I feel horrible about all of that's happening to her."

Liz sat in the bathroom of her new home, group home. She'd only had been there for a few minutes at this point and hated it with a passion. The other kids were not the friendliest, it was dirty, nosey and claustrophobic.

She remembered better times with her brother, years ago.

"Mark!" Liz cried out six years ago.

"Is everything all right?"

"Yeah, I just got you a present." She handed him a shoebox.

"Shoes? Sweet!"

"No, silly, open it!"

"I'd just be happy with this box just so you know." He opened it. "What! This is Ms. Bunny!"

"I know, I'm getting older, you know, so I don't think I need her anymore, and you've been under so much stress trying to take care of me. She made me feel better, I hope she'll do the same for you."

"Liz- Yes, she will make me feel better, thank you for this gift. I'll never let anything happen to her, or you so help me. Just know, It'll be okay, no matter what happens to me in the future. You will survive. Okay?" He said, kneeling down and hugging her tightly.

Hello everyone, I hope your all well. Sorry for these downer chapters, I suppose it's my specialty. Not the best I know.

Anyways, Next time the focus will be put back on Peter as The Amazing Spider-Man! You might have forgotten that as it seems like he's a side character. To me, anyway.

Thank you all for continuing to stick with me and all the newer people who are jumping on this crazy ride. Clearly, I've done something right lol. I hope you all continue to enjoy.
