Welcome to Beacon Days!
Basically these will be a collection of short stories that I don't think could be organically put in what I'd consider a main plot chapter. However, everything that happens in them is cannon to the story unless specified otherwise.
Hope you enjoy.
1. Let's cook!
Team RWBY came back to their dorm from their exhausting first day at school. After storing their various school supplies, all four women headed straight for their respective beds. The two sisters threw themselves on them while the other two simply sat down regularly. To most people, seeing Ruby acting in such an unrefined fashion might have been shocking to see, but to the three girls that lived with her for different periods of time, this was simply Ruby Rose.
The ravenette sighed in pleasure as she snuggled her pillow. "Being in bed is the best thing in the world!" She then went silent which made her teammates stare at her curiously until she spoke again while pushing herself up. "Dang it, forgot to make dinner."
The three young adults shared a look then nodded as Yang pushed her sister back on the bed. "Actually, Rubes. Why don't you let us cook this time? You've already done enough already."
The ravenette stayed motionless for a moment. "I know you don't burn the food down anymore, but that doesn't really mean you can cook, Yang. No offense."
The monochrome duo stared at the brawler which she answered with a glare and a zip motion on her lips. "Which is why Blake and Weiss are included in 'us'."
"We are?" Asked the heiress before being jabbed in the ribs by the bow wearer. "I mean, yes! We are!"
Ruby turned her head to give them a wary look. "Oookay. Well could you let go of me anyway? I'm gonna take a shower while you girls do that."
They all nodded and watched as she picked up her pyjamas and entered their bathroom. Once sure that she wasn't coming out, Yang stood up and streched. "Alright! Let's do this!"
Weiss, however, raised a hand. "Yang, I think we shoul-" Her sentence was interrupted when she was suddenly pulled by the brawler and dragged towards the hallway.
Blake watched them leave and was about to choose a book to read when her gaze stopped on the bathroom door. She stared at it for a while before groaning. "I'm gonna regret this..." She said as she stood up to follow her teammates to the student's kitchen.
"Okay! First order of business!" Pipped Yang as she struck a pose with her fist on her waist. The room had been surprisingly empty when they came in. Then again, Ruby's introduction to her class must have cut the appetite of most present.
The three women were now wearing an apron that coincidentally matched their theme color. Blake gave a hesitant look at their work station before turning towards the blond. "Which is?"
The brawler faced them with an awkward smile. "Can any of you two, cook?"
They stood in silence while the monochrome duo gave her a deadpan look. "Seriously?" Asked Weiss.
Yang scratched the back of her head as she nervously chuckled. "I mean, yeah. You heard what Ruby said. I can't, so I was hoping one of you did."
The heiress facepalmed. "I don't know what I expected." She sighed and glared at her. "I don't mean to boast, but my family's on the wealthy side. Do you expect that any of us cook our meals?"
The blond shrugged. "I don't know. You seemed pretty cool to me. Thought maybe you were one of those unexpectedly resourceful rich person."
The blue-eyed woman huffed as she crossed her arms while looking to the side. "Well, I can't cook."
Yang's gaze met Blake's while the latter was prodding the various kitchen tools. "Can't either." She then pulled out her scroll. "What if we just follow a recipe online? Can't be too hard, right?"
The three amateur chefs stood dejected while they stared at the strange formation in front of them.
"What was this supposed to be again?" Asked Blake while poking the pulsing mass with a chopstick.
"Uh, roasted chicken..." Answered Yang while diverting her gaze from their failure.
"I still don't understand how we failed so spectacularly." Added Weiss while reading through the instructions once more.
The amber-eyed woman raised an eyebrow. "I still don't think using dust as seasoning was a good idea."
She scoffed. "Dust enhances everything. I don't see why it wouldn't for taste."
Blake glared at her. "Maybe because their purpose is more industrial than culinary?" In her irritation, she shoved the chopstick a bit too forcefully into their monstrosity which caused it to suddenly scream and then explode.
They stood still, covered in soot, eyes wide in terror at what they just witnessed. Blake slowly set her chopstick down before backing away slightly.
"Okay, maybe putting fire dust was not the best idea." Admitted Weiss while dusting herself.
"That could have been pretty dangerous if Ruby had eaten it." Added Yang, nodding while holding her chin.
Blake gave her teammates an incredulous stare. "Are we not going to talk about the fact that it screamed?!" She shouted while motioning towards the now smoking tray they had set their monstrosity on.
Suddenly, the two partners' eyes started pouring tears while they stood frozen. "I was trying not to think about it." They both whimpered.
"I see that diner's going well." Said a voice they dreaded to hear. They all turned to face it while giving their best smile.
"Rubes! How great to... see... you..." Trailed of Yang when they saw the celebrity in her pyjamas.
Conceptually, it was nothing revealing or erotic in any sense. Simple comfortable pants and a tank top with a cute design on the front. However, when a drop dead gorgeous woman like Ruby, who's curves could be said to have been a gift from god, wears such clothings, it is no exaggeration that she could attract anyone's attention.
"So? How much longer before we eat?" She teased while approaching them.
"Uh, uhm, hopefully soon." Said Blake while staring directly into the older woman's cleavage. "I mean, not anytime soon I'm afraid." She corrected as her two associates nodded their head.
Ruby giggled before wiping some soot from the hidden faunus' nose with a finger. "Why don't we agree to leave dinner to me from now on, yeah?" She said before blowing what she gathered away. "Now, I believe that you three better get cleaned up before I'm done and please, do try not to spread this all over the school."
As they got out of the room, they were greeted by a group of students which had followed the ravenette here.
"Oh, great..." Mumbled Weiss while trying to hide her face.
They were soon approached by Velvet who grabbed one of them by the hand and guided them out of the amused students. "I think you three should leave the kitchen to those who know how to cook. Unless of course, you have someone there to teach you."
They nodded, dejected as they left towards the public showers. As soon as they were out of earshot, Velvet bursted into laughter which was followed by the nearby students. This incident would become the talk of the school for a couple of days, to the three girls' shame.
2. A Console Problem
A groan escaped Ruby's throat as she slammed her head against their dorm's desk. "I so didn't miss school..." Her teammates raised an eyebrow while looking up from their current occupations.
"Don't you only have two classes to take?" Asked Yang tapping away at her scroll.
"Yeah, but I also have my own class to organize and now I also have to plan how to train Pyrrha." Mumbled the ravenette, raising her head to look towards the three women.
"It can't be that different from when you tutored me." Countered Weiss flipping through her notebook. "Besides, you seem in perfect control while teaching your class."
Ruby's eyes darkened as she stared at nothing. "Kinda hard to screw up talking about something you're familiar with."
Her teammates exchanged a wary look until Blake decided to intervene. "Well, I don't know how you taught Weiss, but apprenticeship doesn't necessarily mean that you have to teach like it was class. You could simply spar with her and give her pointers when she fails."
The silver-eyed woman turned her chair to face them and leaned back into it. "Yeah, that's what I had in mind."
Yang groaned as she closed her scroll and sat up. "Then what's the problem?"
Ruby groaned in turn as she crossed her arms which lifted her breast making her teammates gaze away, then pouted. "I'm bored..."
They blinked incredulously. "What...?" Flatly asked the blond, wondering if her older sister was serious.
Ruby made her chair spin as she hugged her knees while laying her head on them. "I'm used to slow days. I've had a couple during my travels, but this is turning into a slow week! Sure that was fine when I was your age, but that's not the life I'm used to anymore."
The three young adults shared a look of disbelief before turning back towards her. "I mean... I have a couple of books you can read." Suggested Blake while gesturing towards the bookshelf.
The ravenette glanced at her textbook and finished homework. "That's a sweet offer, but I'm not really in the mood to read right now."
Yang had a confident smirk as she stood up from her bed and went towards their closet. "I think I have just the thing." She said before picking up the game console she brought. "Ta-da!"
Ruby raised an eyebrow. "Uh, Yang?"
The blond ignored her sister's words. "We used to play games together when we were kids. You were a pretty good player back then too. Wanna see if you still got the skills?"
The older sibling awkwardly smiled. "I'd love too, but-"
"Great! Though I have to tell you, games changed a whole lot in the last five years, but I'm sure you'll adapt quickly." Interrupted the brawler as she searched for the various cables.
Ruby groaned. "Yang, I think you're overlooking a big problem..." The younger sister raised her head with a curious look as the ravenette motioned around their dorm. "We don't have a TV to play on."
Her shoulders sagged as the lilac-eyed woman sighed. "Right... that's why we stored it in the closet in the first place..."
The older sibling laughed while patting the blond on the head. "We all forget something at some point, right? Besides, I'm getting my first paycheck this week plus a generous startup bonus courtesy of the headmaster himself. We could go shop for one this weekend."
Weiss glanced at the wall mounted clock before closing her textbook. "Or, we could go in town today and I'll pay for it." She nonchalantly said while sitting on the edge of her bed.
"Really?!" Excitedly asked the brawler.
Blue eyes narrowed as she crossed her arms. "I wouldn't have suggested it otherwise now, would I?"
Yang grabbed Ruby's arm and dragged her outside of their dorm. "What are we waiting for then? Let's go!"
A chuckle escaped the ravenette as she let herself be guided by her sister. "How cruel Yang, you didn't even ask Blake if she wanted to come."
The blond froze for a moment, then gave the silver-eyed woman a curious look. "I may have only met her a couple of days ago sis, but I'm pretty sure she'd rather stay inside and read."
She hummed in wonder. "Maybe so, but it's only polite to ask."
Yang deadpaned before walking back into their dorm, brushing past Weiss who had just left, then gazed at the hidden faunus with a raised eyebrow. While her face was hidden by the book she was reading, Blake was hesitating. On one hand, she really did want to stay inside and read. On the other, she'd be able to spend more time with Ruby. She finally shook her head after reminding herself that her other two teammates would be there. The blond nodded in satisfaction before going back to her sister. "See? Told ya."
Ruby had an amused smile as she shook her head. "Well, it was worth asking. Alright girls, let's go."
The moment they arrived in the city, the two partners realized the mistake of bringing the celebrity along since fans and reporters would swarm them at any corner they turned. Being the compassionate person she is, Ruby would give them a couple of minutes before resuming their journey.
When they finally made it to a store, the clerks would instantly hone in on the celebrity, hoping to be the one to serve her for whatever she may search for. Seeing as both Ruby and Weiss had no knowledge in display devices and Yang had the bare minimum, they spent a while going through various models which only left them more confused than anything.
"Wait, if this one's better, why is that one more expensive?" Asked the brawler while scratching her head.
The white-haired woman scoffed. "Ever heard of brand recognition? If a product is attached to a popular name, its price can be raised even if it's of a lower quality."
Ruby nodded with a smile before turning towards the employee that was helping them. "Which one would you suggest for something that would on average, be used by four people?"
When it came to paying, the manager had come out and gave them a rather generous discount which they graciously accepted and asked for the item to be delivered to Beacon. They were on their way back to the air bus station when Ruby hugged Weiss while unconsciously burying her head into her breast.
"Thank you for doing this for us Weiss." She said while laying her head on top of the heiress'. "How about I buy us a little treat as a reward? I may not have enough for a television, but I can still do this much." Her eyes then caught a particular shop which had her eyes widen in excitement. "How about ice cream?"
The white-haired woman was too stunned from her sudden predicament to respond. Yang however, couldn't look in their direction since she wanted to avoid having her sister see her now red irises. "That sounds great, sis! Why don't you let her go so we can get on that?"
"Right." Replied the ravenette as she separated herself from her captive while still holding her by the shoulders. "Shall we?"
Weiss seemed to still be in a daze as she lazily nodded, her eyes glued to the cleavage she had just came out off. Ruby then walked towards the shop leaving her two teammates behind. Yang approached her partner before flicking her forehead, instantly rousing her from her daydreaming.
"What was that for?!" She harshly asked while rubbing her forehead.
The blond glared at the heiress before walking past her. "Come on, Ruby's waiting for us inside."
Blue eyes gazed towards their destination as she raised an eyebrow. "An ice cream shop?"
Once inside, they could see that most of the customers and staff members had already swarmed the ravenette who had been calmly having a conversation with them. Her eyes then caught her two teammates which made her dismiss them while apologizing. She then grabbed Weiss by the shoulders and directed her towards the menu. "Is there anything our little hero wants~?" Teased the older woman directly next to the heiress' ear.
Her entire body tensed until she finally took a look at the various items. There were... a lot more than she had expected. Yang noticed her hesitation. "Is something wrong?"
Weiss glared at her, a blush had adorned her pale cheeks as she was about to retort only to be interrupted by Ruby. "Atlas barely has any ice cream shops and they barely have any variants. I think our little snow cone here is being a bit overwhelmed by the choices."
Blue eyes darted downwards in embarrassment as the woman started playing with her fingers while silently nodding. With a comforting smile, the silver-eyed celebrity gazed at the employee waiting for their order. "Are your banana splits big enough for two?" Once she received confirmation, she ordered one before turning towards her sister. "Anything you'd like, sunshine?"
Yang blushed slightly when some of the surrounding people turned towards her at the nickname. "Uh, just a vanilla milkshake will do."
They sat at one of the free tables with their frozen treats while the two younger women attempted to ignore the stares directed at them. Ruby for her part, simply gave Weiss a spoon before digging into the treat herself. She hummed in delight which warmed the heart of any who heard her. "It's been so long since I had good ice cream. No offense to Atlas Weiss, but for a kingdom in the coldest part of Remnant, theirs is... passable at best."
The heiress shook her head dismissively. "I can't say that I would know, miss Rose. The only time I've had some before is when you brought me to one." She then scooped a part of the banana with some chocolate ice cream before eating it. Her eyes sparkled as she imitated the older woman's previous action. "Wow, this is very different."
Ruby let out a melodious laugh as she wrapped her arms around Weiss. "You are so cute!" Yang was glad she had chosen a milkshake since it had already melted to a warm liquid by now due to her semblance flaring. "Oh! We should send pictures to winter!" Said the ravenette, her scroll already opened in camera mode.
"Eh?" Was the only sound Weiss could make as the celebrity's phone took a picture.
"Aaand, send." Chuckled the ravenette before plucking a cherry and popping it into her mouth, keeping the stem in her hand. She then spat out the core before suddenly looking at Yang. "Oh! Check out this trick someone taught me." Not waiting for an answer, Ruby put the stem into her mouth before swirling it around.
The face of most onlookers flushed when they realized what the celebrity was attempting. "Seriously? In public?" Thought both partners, red from both embarrassment and excitement.
Some seconds passed until Ruby finally stuck out her tongue which had a tied up stem on top of it. She took it in her hand before giving her sister a proud look. "Pretty cool, right?"
"I, uh, ah..." Stuttered the blond before sending a desperate gaze towards Weiss.
"It's, uh, well..." Followed the heiress not fairing any better than her partner.
The older woman caught sight of the shop's clock as her eyes widened. "Oh my, we'll have to eat those on our way back to Beacon. It's getting pretty late and we don't want to miss the air bus."
Back in their dorm, Blake closed her now finished book as she looked at the time. "They've been gone for a while. Maybe I should have gone with them." As if on cue, the door opened as her three teammates entered the room.
"We're back~." Lilted Ruby carrying a small styrofoam like container. The two partners had followed her in with slightly flushed cheeks.
"Did something happen?" Asked the bow wearer. Sitting on the edge of her bed and gazing at the temperature duo.
"You could say that." Mumbled Weiss while heading for her bed, Yang simply nodded at the answer.
Ruby suddenly sat next to Blake with a bright apologetic smile which made the hidden faunus' heart skip a beat. "Sorry it took so long. We stopped by an ice cream shop on our way back." She then opened the container she was carrying, revealing some remains of vanilla and strawberry ice cream which miraculous hadn't melted down by now, and a piece of banana. "It's not much, but we kept you some. Here," the ravenette took a spoon and scooped a bit of everything before bringing it towards Blake. "Open wide." She said as Yang and Weiss' eyes widened at the action.
The ashen-haired woman did as asked while staring into the joyful eyes of the older woman as she fed her the remains of the frozen treat. "I guess staying wasn't such a bad idea after all."
Ruby turned back towards her sister. "Looks like we won't get to play today, but at least we had fun right?"
Meanwhile, in Atlas, Winter Schnee came back to her quarters, exhausted from her day as she headed for her shower. While removing her clothes, she remembered that she felt her personal scroll vibrate during the day which made her pick it up to see who could have texted her. Her eyes widened when she saw that Ruby had sent her a picture of her sister with a surprised expression while she was eating ice cream. While she saved the picture on her phone, she entered her shower with a defeated look in her eyes. "Is this not the second time miss Rose took Weiss to get ice cream? I waited so long for her to invite me next and you're telling me that my sister went a second time before I even had my first?"
Needless to say, the specialist had spent a long time under the warm water, alone with her spiraling thoughts about her savior.
3. The Strange Happenstances of Apprenticeship.
Pyrrha yelp as she was once again, knocked down. Slowly standing back up, she took her battle stance once more as she switched Milò into its xiphos form. In front of her, stood ruby with a close copy of her weapon and shield in hands. The ravenette did a stance of her own with her weapon in javelin form, all with an intense expression on her face. "Again." She harshly said.
Wasting no time, Pyrrha lunged at her but her strike was once again deflected by Ruby which made her arm recoil back in the air. "Even with my semblance, she's able to deflect with such ferocity. How can she be so strong?" Recovering quickly, the spartan dropped down to sweep her master's legs with her own only to hit Ruby's spear as she jumped to drop kick her.
"Come on, Pyrrha. This was worst than the last try." Reprimanded Ruby while transforming her javelin into a xiphos.
"I'm sorry master Rose, it's just..." She tried to apologize only to trail off, too afraid of sounding whiney.
Ruby groaned. "I told you not to call me that. Being an apprentice doesn't mean that you have to call your teacher 'master'. Now, what is it?"
Pyrrha faintly blushed while looking over her shoulder after sitting up. "Well, why is your team spectating us?"
Indeed, behind the spartan, sat the ravenette's teammates as they observed their training. Although, Blake was only sparing glances before returning to her book. Yang shrugged before smirking at Pyrrha. "We were done with our homework and were bored. I asked if I could watch and Ruby said yes. These two just followed along."
"I-I see..." Stuttered the spartan as she stood up. "I just thought that our training sessions would just be the two of us..."
Ruby dropped her harsh persona temporarily to give her a comforting smile. "I'll keep that in mind next time, so would it be alright just for today?"
"Having people witness myself get dominated by miss Rose? I'm not sure my heart could take it." Thought the redhead as her heartbeat hastened. "I-it's fine." She dusted herself before taking another stance.
"Alright." Said Ruby as her expression hardened once more. "Again!"
They both sprinted at each other, Ruby withholding from using her semblance, until they could both clash their swords together. Pyrrha would then attempt various attacks to pierce through the ravenette's defenses only to be parried every time. This time however, Ruby would only lightly hit her, just enough to create an impact.
"Hey, she's holding out pretty well." Complimented Yang while she sipped away at a juice box.
Weiss scoffed as she raised an eyebrow at the blond. "Miss Rose is obviously starting to go easy on her."
"Yeah, you can see that she's making sure that Pyrrha's aura doesn't break while still showing her that she's getting hit." Added Blake, still nose deep in her book.
"Huh." Said the brawler as she continued to watch.
Pyrrha had come to the same conclusion that the other girls had which didn't sit quite well with her. She doubled her effort and tried her hardest to knock Ruby off balance or disarm her. Unfortunately, she accomplished neither.
"I see." Said the ravenette gaining everyone's attention. She then headbutted the redhead before using the hand that held her shield to grab Pyrrha's and shove it down into the ground, dragging the spartan downwards which she followed with by raising her knee straight into her jaw. Stunned, the champion stumbled backwards only to be sent flying into a nearby tree by a kick to the stomach, breaking her aura. The three spectators watched wide eyed as they stood up while deploying their weapons.
"Hole shit, Ruby! A bit too much don't you think?" Anxiously blurted Yang, raising her fists defensively. Her two teammates remained silent but nodded at the statement.
The celebrity had a dark look in her eyes as she gazed at them. "I'm fine, girls." She then took a couple of steps towards Pyrrha, who had sat back against the destroyed trunk of the tree she had been sent towards. However, the ravenette was forced to stopped when she heard her teammates cock their weapons. "I said, I'm fine."
Blake's hands trembled around Gambol Shroud as she tried to steady her aim towards Ruby. "Please, just stay back."
The celebrity sighed before morphing her weapon and shield back into its singular compact form before dropping it on the ground and raising her hands. "I'm unarmed, see? I'm just going to help her up."
"Honestly, miss Rose? I don't think being unarmed changes much." Replied Weiss as her dust cylinder changed to ice dust.
Pyrrha hoisted herself up as she took a couple of breaths. "It's fine girls. I'm okay." She then chuckled as she sat back down. "Could we turn down the difficulty next time?"
Ruby shook her head. "You've grown a lot since last time, Pyrrha. Simply by attending miss Goodwitch's class, I'm sure that you'll reach the improvement you're looking for. But that's only if you're planning on fighting in tournaments all your life." This confused the onlookers as they momentarily lowered their weapons while Pyrrha simply motioned that she was listening. "You, all of you, can easily adapt your fighting style to kill grimm or fight people and that's the problem. I have already said it once before, but fighting people and killing them is completely different. When you fight, you restrain yourself to non-lethal strikes to avoid major injuries should their aura break. If yours wasn't still active, can you imagine the damage I would have done to you in the last three strikes?"
Not bothered to wait for an answer Ruby walked away, leaving Crimson Harvest on the ground. "We're done for today." Once sure that she left, the three spectators rushed towards the redhead.
"Are you hurt anywhere?" Asked Weiss while Blake and Yang reached for Pyrrha's arms only to be slapped away as the spartan stood up by herself.
"I'm fine. My aura recovered enough to start healing a bit." She answered before looking down at Milò and Akoúo̱.
"Sorry, we couldn't really stop her. Even if we tried." Said the blond while rubbing her neck.
The redhead shook her head. "I'm glad you didn't." Seeing their surprised expressions, she continued. "The words she said at the entrance ceremony and in the ballroom where we slept. They still bounced around in my head for a while. I knew she was right, but I couldn't understand how she was right. I don't think I truly will until our third and fourth year, honestly. However, I know that what happened today wasn't an accident."
"Well, Ruby has a... sensitive situation." Hesitantly revealed Blake, sheathing her weapon.
Pyrrha shook her head once more. "Maybe, but that wasn't it today. Do you know why she acted so harshly since the beginning?" They stared at each other before motioning her to go on. "It's because she knows that's how I want her to be." They took a step back as hesitant expressions formed on their faces. "When we met, I already knew about her from her articles and she knew about me through newspapers. Looking back on that day, I can see that she wanted to be alone, yet the first thing I did was ask her to fight me."
"Look, kid. I'm not looking to fight anyone right now." Said the ravenette turning away from the sixteen year old spartan. She stopped when she felt something tug her drape.
"Please! I just want to understand how to become as strong as you! One sparring match is all I ask!" Begged Pyrrha attracting the attention of nearby villagers.
Ruby sighed and knelt down slightly to stare directly into her eyes with a compassionate look. "You're not ready for that kind of lesson I'm afraid."
Starring downwards, feeling moderately frustrated at the claim, the redhead gripped the drape harder. "I need to understand. I want to become as strong as you."
Ruby sighed once more before dissolving into petals, freeing her from the young girl's grasp and reappearing next to her. "Fine, how about this. One match. If I break your aura, you lose. If you hit me once, I lose."
While the conditions confused the young spartan, she was blinded by the seemingly easy victory and agreed. The silver-eyed twenty year old looked around them before shaking her head. "Not here. Got anywhere private?"
Half an hour later, they were standing on the opposite sides of the practice ring the young champion uses. "You remember the rules?" Pyrrha nodded as she took out her weapon and shield. "Alright then." Mumbled the rising celebrity as she unfolded Crescent Rose before slamming it into the ground menacingly, making her adversary take a step back in fear.

Begin!
The young spartan steeled herself and transformed her weapon into its rifle form before shooting at her adversary while running towards her. Her bullets were easily blocked by the ravenette's scythe but it gave Pyrrha enough time to close the gap between them. Sliding on the ground, she morphed her weapon into its javelin form and thrusted at the scythe user's stomach.
Seeing this, Ruby sighed. "Alright, I've seen enough." Letting go of the scythe, she slapped the young girl's weapon away before delivering a powerful kick on her stomach which sent her sliding back to where she started. "You have a pretty good form for a sixteen year old and your aura reserve seems to be higher than average for your age, but that strike was just too predictable. I don't know how you won the previous tournament or how you haven't been defeated yet in the current one, but you can't rely on whatever it is for long." She picked up her scythe and transformed it back into its compact form. "We're done here."
"Wait!" Pyrrha screamed, standing back up. "My aura didn't break, yet."
Ruby stared at her for a moment before reaching into her pocket and taking out a rock she took from outside. "Yet." She then threw the rock straight towards her face which the young spartan blocked with her shield only to find herself falling down as her legs had been swept away. As soon as she came into contact with the ground, she felt her aura break. "You focused on the winning condition without asking yourself how to get to it." She then knelt down and smiled. "Are you okay?"
Pyrrha blinked a few times before focusing back on the woman over her. She had been defeated. It had been so long since the last time anyone had roughed her up this bad and now said person had also won against her. Not only that, but the ruthlessness and efficiency she demonstrated. Being dominated, overpowered by someone that could give such a beautiful smile afterwards, she didn't know it could feel so rewarding.
"You're amazing! No one has ever been so ferocious while sparring with me before. Not even my previous coaches and trainers would go that far!" The young spartan stood up then knelt in front of the older woman. "I beg of you to take me under your wing!"
Ruby had been stunned by Pyrrha's enthusiasm and boldness until she burst out laughing. "You are something, kid. I'm sorry, but I can't answer that request. I'm heading to Atlas soon and I can't delay more than necessary." Seeing the young girls dejected expression, the silver-eyed woman placed a hand on her head. "How about this? If we ever meet again, I'll think about it." Her expression hardened as she glared down at the spartan. "But you better have improved by then."
Pyrrha smiled as she finished retelling her memory. "I will never forget the sovereignty radiating from her as she stared down at me."
By then, the three younger women of team RWBY had taken a couple of steps back from the champion. Yang brought her teammates closer before whispering. "Should we do something about that?"
Blake leaned in while keeping her eyes on the redhead. "I mean, it's not like she's hurting anyone. Well, she certainly changed the way I looked at her."
Weiss had kept quiet which made the two women look at her. They were met with the heiress' red face and embarrassed expression as she stared at the floor. "She's not... totally wrong though..." She mumbled before widening her eyes. "I mean, uh, miss Rose does get a bit intense when it comes to training!"
Blake and Yang exhanged a wary look before dropping the subject when they heard Pyrrha grunt. She had lifted Ruby's weapon with both hands and brought it towards them. "I'm guessing something happened between you girls and miss Rose considering the way you acted earlier, but I implore you to go see her now. She only meant well."
Yang took hold of the case like object by its handle only to stumble forward at the unexpected weight. "You're walking around with something like that all the time, sis?!" She then gave the redhead a smile. "Right. I guess we better go back then." They said their farewell and separated.
Once back in their own dorm, they were greeted by sight of Ruby fast asleep in her bed with her bottle of sleeping pills next to her. The three women gained a sad expression as the blond set the weapon down near her sister. "Goodnight, sis."
Weiss sighed regretfully before motioning outside their dorm. "We should probably get something to eat first."
"That won't be necessary." Cut in Blake while pointing at their room's desk. On it rested three wrapped plates with different meals and a name written on top of them. They then sat in silence while eating their respective dish, not caring in the slightest that it was now lukewarm before heading to bed.
Sorry it took longer than usual. I've actually been cooking up two chapters at the same time, so you can expect another one soon.
