Last chapter, I mentioned going over the previous ones to correct continuity and mistakes. Well, I've only been able to do so for the first 7 chapters which, for now, is good enough for what's posted so far. Of course, I will do the rest when I can. For now, however, here's a list of the changes I've brought.

- Removed the fact that Ruby felt like she recognized Cinder in chapter 3. I did so at first because I felt like maybe adding her to the harem, but I cannot find anyway to redeem her character in a way that I'm satisfied with.

- Removed Taiyang mentioning Summer to Ruby in chapter 4 for obvious reasons if you've read the previous chapter.

- Changed Ruby's question in chapter 7 from "While we're at it. Would any of you two be able to tell me who or what Salem is?" To "While we're at it. Would any of you two know anything about a witch that goes by the name of Salem?"

- Also added a bit of text before said question to set a more serious tone to the scene.

- added the following (the bold part) to chapter 11. "We had a deal!" She roared shooting once more. "You have no right being here! Go back to your Arc!"

Any who'd enter the amphitheater would be met with an odd sight for a Sunday morning; all of the usual seats were occupied by students, nose deep in their books and mock test papers, in almost complete silence if you ignored the few murmurs here and there. Ruby had organized this test the night she slept in Glynda's room in hopes to help those who had trouble with her material. It seemed to have been the right call considering the fact that all of her students were present, her team included.

She was currently bent over next to a fourth year who had trouble with one of the questions; they weren't the first nor will they be the last which was understandable for the older students considering their work load. Once she was confident that they had understood, she stood up and glanced at the room's clock. It was a couple of minutes passed noon, she had allowed them to bring their lunch but unfortunately forgot to make one for herself which had prompted many of them to offer some of their meals which she politely declined. Gazing around herself, she made sure that no student was in need of her help before marching towards the section of the room where the first and second year students were seated. She once again answered any questions they had before sitting down next to her sister with a sigh while raising an eyebrow at her teammates.

"I hope you girls are aware that you won't have as much time for the actual test." She said, leaning back into her seat.

Weiss rolled her eyes before pointing at the Blond's paper. "Blake and I finished a while ago. It's her that's keeping us here." She scoffed as she and the bow wearer raised their test to emphasize her point; the latter doing so with indifference as she read one of her books.

Yang glared at the heiress as she grit her teeth. "I said that I'm almost done, princess."

Blake sighed with irritation as she closed her book and turned towards the brawler. "Yang, you said that an hour ago. JNPR already left and I'm afraid that Weiss' nails will soon be categorized as weapons with how much she picked at them."

Yang eyes turned red as she opened her mouth, ready to snap at them, before being pulled back by a hand on her shoulder. "You girls can go. Leave your tests on my desk with the others." Said Ruby at the monochrome duo. She then gazed at her sister with a warm smile. "Why don't we look at what's troubling you?"

The blond shamefully stared at her test as their teammates left until she felt two hands grab her hips, lift her up, and sit her sideways on a soft pair of thighs. She blushed in embarrassment as most of the nearby students turned to look at them. Keeping a hand at her side to hold her in place, the ravenette took hold of her test to see which question had her sibling stuck for so long.

It was a fairly simple question at first glance, but it was also one that became harder the longer you though about it. "A person, who's well known for having taken countless lives and escaped from confinement multiple times, stands in front of you — out of aura and unable to fight. It is highly likely that they will escape again should you arrest them. Alternatively, there are no witnesses around should you deliver the final blow. What would you do?" Ruby turned towards her younger sibling after reading the question. "You left that one empty on the previous test too."

Yang sighed, refusing to meet her sister's eyes as she played with her pencil. "I just... don't know what I would do."

Ruby smiled at her while bringing her closer into a one-armed hug. "It doesn't matter which you choose. What's graded here is the reasoning behind said choice." She leaned into the blond's hair before whispering softly into her ear. "Big sis will never think differently of you no matter what you answer. Okay sunshine?"

She nodded with a crestfallen expression as she took hold of the papers and set them back on her table. Still in her sibling's grasp, she hunched over and was about to write her answer down when a sudden thought came to her. "What would you do?" She asked without looking away from the empty lines.

The raven-haired woman's silence was contrasted by the deafening silence of the room as every single remaining student awaited for her answer — having heard their conversation from the start.

Ruby stared into the palm of her free hand with a scowl. The question echoed in her mind as it slowly faded out behind the voices of her past which resounded while her hand became covered with blood that increased in volume everytime she blinked.

"Ruby?" Questioned Yang as she faced her, forcing the older woman to meet her gaze.

She then looked back at her hand and saw that it was clean from any claret. Shaking her head dismissively, she lifted the blond off her lap and sat her back in her seat before standing up to walk towards her desk. "I've... done both and lived with the consequences." She picked up a few of her things, along with the tests that had already been handed over, then headed for the door. "I'll be taking my leave. You guys are free to stay. Just don't forget to leave your tests on my desk so I can correct them. I will send a copy to your scrolls once I'm done grading them. Have a nice day and I wish you success on all of your tests."

Once out of their sight, the students erupted into their own conversations which mostly centered around their answer to the question. Yang for her part, propped an elbow on her table to hold her head as she stared at the blank lines on her paper in frustration. "Fuck..." she muttered, twirling her pencil between her fingers before writing down her answer.

Ruby sighed as she walked down the halls of Beacon towards her team's dorm. Now that this part of her day was over, she could focus on preparing everything she would need for the night; her first fight against a silver-eyed being in almost half a year. She frowned at the thought as she turned a corner only to stop when she noticed two women standing in the middle of the room.

Both were obviously identical twins; with hair as dark as the night with a single streak of white that ran down a side bang which covered one of their opposite, silver eye. Their skin was ghostly pale, yet their relaxed posture let her know that they were healthy nonetheless. They wore silk robes so thin that a faint outline of their figures could be perceived through the fabric. While they weren't as developed as the ravenette, they could easily attract the attention of anyone should they want to. Other than the fact that they both hid a different eye, the only other way to differentiate them was the brooch that held their robe together; one had an insignia of an eye while the other had an angelic wing.

Ruby's eyes widened as she took a step back in shock. "Are you...?" She mumbled, trailing off when the one with an eye ornament shook her head before extending an arm towards her — to the confusion of her sibling.

The drape wearer approached them and attempted to grab hold of the woman's slender fingers; only to phase through her as she did so. Clicking her tongue in annoyance, she took a step back. "Great, another one of those projection?"

The woman lowered her arm as a chuckled escaped her. "I am afraid that this is the only way for us to communicate, Ruby Rose." She said making her twin stare in the raven-haired woman's general direction.

"She's here?" Questioned the woman with the winged brooch. "How does she fare?"

Her sibling chucked once more. "She is certainly here, sister. Only eons from now, but here nonetheless." She then gazed at the red themed woman from head to toe. "She has seen better days, yet her natural beauty redeems what she has lost to fatigue." She continued with a teasing tone. Ignoring the glared sent her way by the ravenette, she took a step forward and bowed slightly. "We have spoken a few times during your years of travel, yet you have only known me as 'The Oracle'. I was given the name Navi, at birth and this is my twin sister, Moshia."

The twin, now known as Moshia, bowed in what she assumed was Ruby's direction with a faint smile on her lips. The drape wearer nodded in kind before remembering that the woman could not see her. With a shake of her head, she gazed back at the Oracle. "So, what's the meaning of this?" She asked, gesturing towards the both of them.

A bittersweet smile graced Navi's lips as she stared downwards, holding both of her hands together. "I... believed that it would be improper of me to leave without bidding you farewell."

Ruby froze as she stared aghast into the woman's visible eye. "W-what? What do you mean, leave?"

The Oracle gave her a warm smile as she gestured towards the wall to the ravenette's right. On it was a beautifully painted rendition of her entire five year adventure which started from the door she came from, and ended next to a pair of doors which stood behind the twins.

"You have done it. You have gone through all of the challenges left behind for you to get stronger and are now ready for this one final duel." She said, now gesturing to the opposite wall.

Much like the other, a painting which told the story of another woman's life had been setup exactly like hers. Said woman had a rather striking resemblance to herself and was someone she had come to know well: Rose, her final adversary, the woman with whom she had conversed with multiple times through the Oracle's projections. As similar as they were physically they could still be easily told apart through a few differences. Gazing at the doors behind the twins once more, Ruby noticed that the end of the paintings were arranged to depict both women, ready to fight one another from each side.

"I cannot see pass this very moment on your side and will draw my last breath tonight on mine." Navi sighed as she stepped closer to her sister, taking hold of her hand in a comforting manner. "An unfortunate necessity, but one that I must brave. For the sake of a world which survives the Witch."

Taking a deep breath, Ruby stepped closer to them; a faint scowl adorning her face. "Yeah, I would have liked to know about that witch before I got this far." She complained before shaking her head dismissively. "Why? Why are you telling me all of this now? Could you not have done so before? Why is she here when she can't even see me?"

The Oracle shook her head once more while sending her a warm smile. "My sister is a key part in the preparations for the voyage you went through, once our conversation will be over, she will start the process which will result in the creation of The Ark along with the three ruins you have explored." The twins cuddled against one another. "Should you win and accomplish the destiny woven into your very soul; I plead of you to take care of my family."

Ruby stood still as she glanced at Moshia whom had been staring at her sister with saddened eyes. Her gaze drifted towards Navi, who stared back at her with a pleading expression. Memories of her little sister and herself surfaced; her little sunshine who all of this had been for. To ensure that she would live a future free of any grave danger, only filled with fun adventures. She sighed before walking through the twins while unfolding Crescent Rose. "If we happen to cross path, then yes. I will keep her safe, but don't expect me to actively search for her. My family comes first."

Glancing over her shoulder, she could see the Oracle's shoulder relax as a relieved smile escaped her lips. "Thank you. Now go. The fate of our people rests in your hands."

The ravenette scoffed as she pushed open the doors. "You're not my people."

As the doors closed behind her, she heard her mumble with what she could swear was relief in her voice. "No, I guess we are not."

"Did she write down anything?" Asked Blake from her bed, eyes focused on her book as she read each word with great interest.

Ruby blinked in surprise as she scanned her surroundings. She glanced at the door behind her and saw that it was indeed their usual dorm door instead of the two large ones she had opened a second ago. She then took a tentative step forward before glancing around herself once more which attracted the attention of the two other women in the room.

Weiss, who had been studying at their work desk, pushed her chair backwards while sending a worried expression towards the ravenette. "Miss Rose? Is everything alright?"

Noticing that she had been silent this whole time, Ruby's eyes snapped in the heiress' direction. "Uh, yeah yeah." She set down the items she was carrying on the nearest surface before heading towards their bathroom. "Just, give me a minute."

Ignoring the uneasy glance shared by the monochrome duo, she closed the door behind her, locked it, then marched to the sink, turning it on and gathering some water by cupping her hands together. She then bent over to splash the cool liquid onto her face before gripping the rim of the counter.

"What the hell is going on?" She wondered. "Why am I remembering these now? And why so vividly."

"Why..." She mumbled standing back up to look in the mirror, coming face to face with her adversary who resembled her in many ways; her clothes had a more ancient style to them along with the few pieces of armor here and there, she had a few scars on her face whose fearures were toned —unlike the more elegant figure of the scythe wielder — which gave her the appearance of a powerful warrior.

Ruby dropped her water canteen she had poured over her face as they both slowly raised their weapon, prepared to strike at any moment while panting heavily. They stood on the broken tiles of the platform they had been fighting on for what felt like hours. Said platform was floating in some kind of empty void, Illuminated by a grey light whose origin was unknown to either of them.

They circled one another with trembling legs as their weapon progressively lowered, unable to be carried any longer by their weakened arms. Once out of their grasp, the two ravenettes glanced at their respective armament before raising their arms, taking two different stances of close quarters combat. Their aura had long since been depleted and any additional use of their eyes would cause them more harm than good; only their passive enhancements remained.

"My offer still stands." Said Rose, taking a step forward.

Ruby did the same, switching her stance as she glared into her adversary's eyes. "And my answer is still the same." Her voice dripped with venom as her aching muscles tensed. She would kill this woman no matter what.

A chuckled escaped the warrior's lips as she changed her stance once more while getting closer. "This isn't about those humans you hold dear anymore, is it?" She asked arrogantly. "No, you simply desire to end me. You may deny it, but you are a chosen of Light, just as I am; a descendant of The Warrior, just as I am." A grin filled with bloodlust grew across her lips as they both drew closer. "You relish in the pain of our fight, just as I am."

Ruby punched the mirror shattering it to pieces as she breathed heavily. "I am nothing like you..." she mumbled to herself.

As she withdrew her fist and gazed downwards to assess the damage she caused, she noticed that two large pieces of the mirror were perfectly reflecting her face from each of her sides. However, both had major differences which made her blood run cold:

The one to her right had her silver eyes glowing brightly as trails of blood ran down her face. What truly terrified her though, was that her lips posessed the same grin she had seen on Rose's.

The one on her left was clean of any blood or cruel grin. Instead, her expression seemed to be quite indifferent, yet she could feel unadulterated rage coming from her reflection simply by glancing at it. Much like the other reflection, there was one particular feature which had taken a cold grip on her heart: gone were her usual silver eyes; instead, her sclerae were pitch black while her irises were a glowing, unnerving purple.

Stepping away in fright, she could hear Rose's voice echo in her mind as it slowly faded away. "Then, what are you?"

Suddenly, someone rapidly knocked on the bathroom's door from outside which made her gaze towards it. "Ruby?! What's going on? Open up, please!" Begged Blake as she attempted to turn the doorknob to no avail.

She sighed as she unlocked the door and held a hand up to avoid getting hit by it as the faunus fell forward. "I'm fine, Blake. Just had an accident, that's all." She said before noticing that Weiss had been standing behind the bow wearer, her worry written all over her face. She tried to give her a comforting smile which only seemed to partially work as the heiress sent back a hesitant one. Once sure that Blake had stopped pushing against the door, she opened it fully — allowing her two teammates to see that damage she caused — before taking her scroll out. "I... gotta call Glynda to fix this." She made her way to leave the room before stopping halfway. "I doubt I need to remind you girls, but we're going to that warehouse tonight. I'd recommend resting a bit, you never know what could happen."

She then left before any of them could reply, causing the monochrome duo to stare at one another. "Shouldn't we go after her?" Asked Blake, gesturing towards the door nervously.

Weiss seemed hesitant for an instant before shaking her head dismissively as she went back to their work desk. "I doubt there is much we could do for her as things are currently."

"We could be there for her! Ease her pain as much as we could!" Exclaimed the cat faunus, glaring at her leader's lack of action.

Her anger quickly dissipated when the heiress glared back as she answered her. "Do you truly believe she would let you?"

The ashen-haired woman found herself speechless, babbling while trying to come up with a reply.

Turning her chair towards her teammate, the Schnee crossed one leg over the other before resting her elbow on the armrest and leaning against her closed fist. "Do not mistake my idleness for indifference, Belladonna. I wish with all of my heart to help miss Rose through her hardships. It just so happens that, currently, the best I- we can do, is observe and intervene when possible." Her glare intensified as she shifted her position in a manner that gave her an air of authority. "If you truly believe this to be the wrong course of action, you are free to leave instead of standing still like a fool and berating me."

Angered by her leader's belittling, Blake tightly closed her hands into fists as she grit her teeth in restraint; her glare intensifying to match the white-haired woman's. Before she could reply however, Yang burst through the door with an exhausted expression as she dragged a hand across her face.

The blond froze as soon as she noticed the palpable tension that had formed between her teammates. "Woah, what did I miss?" A glint coming from the opened bathroom allowed her to noticed its littered state. "What the hell happened here?!"

Weiss turned back towards the desk to put away her study material before focusing back on her partner. "Miss Rose had an... episode." She said, swiveling a hand from side to side in a tentative manner. "It would seem like it started some time before she came into the dorm."

The brawler's eyes widened in distress as she stepped closer to the faunus. "And where is she now?!"

Blake glared once more at the heiress who stared back, unimpressed which made the faunus click her tongue in annoyance as she reluctantly headed for her bed. Weiss' gaze followed her as she answered. "I doubt she went far, but I wouldn't suggest going after her. If she needs time by herself, we should respect that wish." She then stood up and marched towards her own bed, untying her hair along the way.

"So you're just going to sleep on it?!" Roared Yang, outraged at her teammates as they both laid down on their beds.

Blake grunted, frustrated at her inability to help, before addressing the blond. "I don't like it either, but Weiss... isn't wrong." She said with a great deal of disdain near the end. "It's been months since the last time she physically reacted to whatever she sees; and she wasn't sleeping this time."

A sigh could be heard coming from the heiress as she stared at the underside of Blake's bed. "In any case, we are most likely going to spend the whole night awake. It would be in our best interest to rest." Her expression softened as she spoke in a gentler tone. "There's nothing wrong with desiring to help her, but up until a few months ago; she had been traveling the world for five years. A lot can happen in that time frame. Things that may take even longer to heal from. We must go at her pace if we hope to assist in any effective way."

Yang gazed at the door with uncertainty, before giving in and heading towards her own bed. "Fine." She groaned laying on top of her covers. She closed her eyes and crossed her arms behind her head before letting out a frustrated huff until a mocking smirk formed on her lips. "Those were some impressive words there; been sitting on them for a while?"

An amused scoff escaped Weiss as she crossed her fingers over her stomach, closing her eyes with a smile. "I have to give credit to my sister on this one. She said them to me a while ago."

The blond hummed in wonder as she let herself relax to the best of her ability, the Schnee doing the same. Blake however, rolled onto her side and stared at the wall as she became lost into her thoughts.

"Even after running away from them, I still got myself involved in White Fang business in the end, allegedly that is." Her cat ears flattened against her head as she gained a troubled expression. "What if it's really them? Am I really going to fight against them?" Memories of Ruby's training and classes flashed through her mind, making she wince; her expression turning from anxious to terrified. "Am I... going to kill them?" She closed her eyes as a few tears escaped them. "There has to be another way..." was her last thought as she surprisingly found herself drifting away, her posture relaxing as she did so.

Abrupt knocking awoke the faunus from her slumber with a jolt, making her thrust one of her hands blindly as if striking an unseen opponent. Eyes dilated and heart racing, she looked around with quick breaths only to be met with the empty air of their dorm. A wave of exhaustion crashed down on her as she held herself up to avoid falling down her bed, only to lose her grip as another round of knocking resounded from the door, surprising her. She picked herself off the ground with a frustrated groan, sitting on the floor, rubbing her bruised side while glancing at her two teammates who were somehow still asleep.

Her faunus ears twitched as she stood up and groggily went towards the door. She rubbed her eyes lazily as she opened the entrance. "Yeah?" She drowsily greeted, wondering who would knock on their door instead of simply calling or texting them.

"I am terribly sorry for disturbing you while you were resting, miss Belladonna, but miss Rose has reported an... accident that is in need of cleaning up." Said the familiar voice of their combat instructor, Glynda Goodwitch. Said instructor then muttered to herself with a crestfallen tone. "Though I wish she would stop calling for me everytime she breaks something; I can't fix everything..."

Blake's exhaustion instantly left her body as she stared wide eyed at the blond teacher. "M-miss Goodwitch!" She exclaimed before glancing towards the still opened bathroom, where the broken glass remained untouched. "R-right, she did say something about calling you." Stepping aside, she let the older woman inside to let her accomplish the task she came for.

She watched her place the various pieces of the mirror back in their place as if completing a rather oddly shaped puzzle. It took only a minute or two, but the looking glass now seemed brand new as the teacher headed back towards the exit. "That was... quick." She hesitantly commented, feeling awkward about letting the woman leave without saying anything.

Glynda pushed her glasses up her nose while giving the faunus a curious expression. "Well, once you reach my age, I sincerely wish for you to grasp your semblance with as much efficiency. However, I would still vacuum the floor before using the bathroom. There may have been unperceivable shards that I was unable to retrieve for the reconstruction."

The faunus nodded as she watched her leave, however, she suddenly called out to her before she could close the door. "What about Ruby?"

The blond sighed as she held up her pad and tapped a few times on it. "I unfortunately did not have the time to speak with her, yet. I was just on my way to do so." She then raised an eyebrow while gazing towards her. "Do you wish to accompany me?"

Blake froze for a moment before glancing at the sleeping temperature duo. Her expression hardened as she slipped her shoes on and walked passed the teacher. However, before she could walk any further, Glynda cleared her throat to attract her attention. She turned to face her with a raised eyebrow as she stood in place.

"Are you not forgetting something?" Asked the blond while pointing to the top of her own head.

Confused for a moment, Blake's eyes widened as her hands shot towards her cat ears, realizing that she had forgotten to put her bow on. Her heart rate peaked as her fight or flight response took control of her actions. Unfortunately for her, before she could even attempt to move, she was briefly enveloped by a purple glow before suddenly being lifted into the air.

"With how talented you are; I have to admit that I doubted miss Rose's words when she told me about your habit of running away in stressful situations." Said Glynda as she stepped closer to the struggling faunus. This made the teacher roll her eyes as she leaned down, making herself at eye level with Blake, who had somehow managed to get herself upside-down. "Did you really believe that none of the staff knew of your nature as a faunus before you were accepted into this school? Or your affiliation with the White Fang? Using your real last name did little to hide who you were either."

The ashen-haired woman glared at her captor, although her current predicament negated any threat she could have posed. "So, why was I accepted in the first place?"

Glynda flicked her wrist, which turned Blake until she was back on her feet, before releasing her from her semblance. "That is something you will have to ask the headmaster whenever you have the time. He is the one who vouched for your entry after all." She then nodded towards the faunus' dorm door. "Go on, I would rather not be kept waiting."

Walking through the halls of the academy, Blake noticed that the Sun was almost fully set which increased the pit of dread which had been forming inside of her tenfold.

"I'm guessing that you are feeling nervous about tonight's expedition?" Commented the teacher, fiddling with her pad as she walked next to her.

The faunus was surprised once more as she stared at the older woman. "Y-you know about..."

"Miss Rose and I have discussed a great deal about recent events. While I believe that allowing you and your teammates to join her is a mistake, the headmaster seems to believe otherwise and unfortunately, I cannot overrule his decisions." Interrupted the blond, tucking her device in-between her side and her arm. "Rest assured, however, that should anything happen, you will all be taken to a safe place where I will personally make sure that you are left in safe hands."

Blake rubbed the back of her neck, unsure of how to react to it all. "Uh, yeah. Thanks, I guess?"

A sigh escaped Glynda as she pushed her glasses up. "I am aware of what the students say about me: a strict, cold hearted tyrant, amongst other less pertinent comments. What they fail to realize is that I am a teacher first above all. Your safety and education are my priorities."

The ashen-haired woman had to hold herself back from flattening her ears against her head as she shamefully gazed away from the older woman. She certainly used to be part of the students who had a rather negative view of the teacher's personality, until she progressively got to see her true self through her infatuation with everyone's favorite ravenette that is.

A scent of fresh roses reached their nose as a few petals came from behind them. "Now I feel kinda bad for putting a stop to such a sweet moment." Said Ruby, making them turn to face her. She stood in front of them, a hand resting on her hip with a slight smirk on her face. The remaining petals from the use of her semblance slowly disappeared as they fell to the ground, giving the ravenette a regal presence. She then facetiously glared at her colleague, pursing her lips into a pout as she crossed her arms. "You could have told me that Blake was with you. I nearly had a heart attack when I saw that she was missing from our room."

Glynda pinched the bridge of her nose as an exasperated sigh escaped her. "We were on our way to find you, as a matter of fact. Your latest actions have made quite a few worried about your well-being."

The silver-eyed woman's expression expeditiously shifted into guilt as she gazed away from the two women in front of her. "Right... well, no worries about that; the Music and Sound Design faculty room was empty so I winded down by making some progress on a... project." She replied, rubbing her arm in a soothing manner.

Blake took a tentative step towards the ravenette. "Are you... okay?" She asked while raising a hand towards her.

Ruby smiled reassuringly as she tenderly took hold of her partner's hand and gently pulled her into a hug. "I certainly am now."

Glynda smiled as she witnessed this heartwarming moment between partners before frowning in regret at having to end it. "What happened to make you react in such a way? What did you see?"

Blake could feel the drape wearer tense between her arms for a brief moment before feeling her softly sigh against her ears. "Old conversations that I would rather leave behind." Said Ruby, pulling away from their embrace. "I guess that's not a luxury I can afford, huh?" She was met with silence and worried gazes which only made her shake her head dismissively as she turned around and traced back her steps. "Anyway, we should head back to the dorm. I woke up the others earlier and told them to wait for us to come back. We'll leave for the warehouse as soon as we have everything in order."

As soon as they entered the dorm, they were greeted by the sight of both Weiss and Yang preparing themselves for the night ahead. The blond had been making sure that her weapons were strapped correctly to her arms while the heiress had been tying her hair in their usual style. The two were dressed in their combat attire which most of the time doubled as their casual wear whenever the opportunity presented itself.

When the sound of the door reached their ears, they turned towards the new arrivals; their eyes widening at the sight of their combat instructor which made both stand up at attention.

"M-miss Goodwitch!" Exclaimed Weiss fearfully as she and her partner glanced at the ravenette with an expression that begged for answers.

Glynda sighed in exasperation as she massaged her temple with her free hand. "I cannot be this intimidating to the students, right?"

Ruby smirked and playfully nudged her colleague's arm. "Just the right amount." She then focused back on her sister while motioning towards the older blond with one hand. "She's joining us tonight."

"What?!" Exclaimed all three of her teammates, staring directly at the woman in question.

"How did that happen?!" Followed Yang, sitting back down on the celebrity's bed.

The ravenette grimaced as she remembered the conversation she had with the headmaster and her father the previous day.

Putting the fish's head aside, Ruby sighed while turning to face the two men while resting her hips against the kitchen's counter. "The girls and I, along with another student from Mistral, are going to be scoping out a warehouse where we believe a heist is bound to take place tomorrow night."

Taiyang frowned in confusion. "Okay? I mean sure, that's kinda dangerous, but you'll be there and I'm pretty confident that both of my girls can handle a few criminals."

"You wouldn't be wrong." She replied, crossing her arms and turning her head aside to look into the empy air. "Problem is, I'm pretty sure that there are going to be at least two silver-eyed people on the scene." She then stared directly into the blond man's eyes. "Light's chosen."

Shock filled the man before being hastily replaced by anger. "And you're bringing the students there?! What were you thinking, Ruby?!"

"I know. It's the worst decision I could have made which is part of the reason I wanted you here." She abruptly cut in with a glare, making her father fall silent. She stepped closer to him and grabbed onto his hands which she brought closer to her. "I need you to tell me not to do it." She pleaded.

Ozpin and Taiyang shared a confused glance as the grey haired man decided to ask. "We will need some explanation, miss Rose."

Ruby stared downwards at their interlinked hands with a lost expression. "A major part of me knows that I shouldn't allow any of them near that warehouse even if it means doing it by force, but there's this quiet voice in the back of my mind that is pleading me to keep them close and never let them leave." She stared back into her father's eyes. "So I need you to silence that voice. Just tell me not to bring them and we can force them to stay here, together."

They remained in silence for a moment until the man opened his mouth to answer. However, before he could utter a single sound, he was interrupted by the headmaster. "Then who will fight alongside you?"

The celebrity looked away with an expression that could only be described as lonesome. "No one can... not against them."

Ozpin hummed while twirling his signature mug. "That would leave you all by your lonesome, wouldn't it?"

The young woman raised a leery eyebrow towards the headmaster. "I've spent five years mostly on my own, remember? I'm used to it by now."

He raised his cup towards her while a slight smirk grew on his lips. "Ah, but being used to something does not mean that it is what you desire or need." He took a sip from his drink and spoke once more. "That quiet voice, while seemingly a bother to you, can sometimes indicate a greater necessity for your own health; mental or physical."

Ruby glared at him. "They could get hurt, or worst. If they stay here, at least it'll guarantee their safety."

Ozpin hummed once more in a knowing fashion. "Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems to me that what truly preoccupies you is the lack of insurance for their safety should they join you." With a raise of his eyebrow, he smiled at her and raised his free hand to point into the air guilelessly. "Then all we would need is said insurance, wouldn't you say?"

The ravenette's harsh expression turned to confusion. "Unless you have another silver-eyed warrior who knows how to properly use their eyes, I don't see what that insurance could be."

"Well, you and Miss Goodwitch have certainly gotten on better terms since the beginning of the year." He replied, his confident smile ever present. Seeing how the celebrity fell silent, he pursued to explain his train of thought which she had most likely caught on. "You may have easily seen through the trick to escape the grasp of her semblance, but the same cannot be said for the students. Should the need to retreat arrive, she could simply eject them at a safe distance." A chuckle escaped him as he raised his mug to his lips. "I trust that they will be able to come up with a landing strategy on their own."

She did not grace him with a reply and turned back to her father, whose hands she had still been holding on to. "Please... Just one word and I'll do whatever it takes."

Seeing as he wouldn't be able to get through to her, the gray-haired man faced his old student. "Think of it this way, while I have full confidence in your daughter's abilities and have yet to see her full potential, them staying here would amount to nothing should she be felled." He then raised both of his arms as he shrugged. "Why not let them experience first-hand what they might encounter in the future? After all, they are her teammates. Should they consider this to be overwhelming, it would make convincing them to stay behind a lot simpler from then on."

Taiyang's gaze wandered between his daughter and old headmaster a few times with a conflicted expression. His daughters' well being took priority over everything. However, he knew what his eldest had been through these last five years or most of it at the very least. Could he truly allow himself to let her continue alone? The ravenette had the world and its future on her shoulder and that was not something he could change, but...

Ruby shook her head and focused once more onto her sister. "Long story short: You girls, and Sun, would have been forced to stay here if she weren't coming."

"Say what now?" Growled Yang as she glared at her sibling. "We had a deal!"

The ravenette glared back, her expression harsher than the younger blond, as her eyes glew menacingly while the usual threatening pressure filled the room; forcing them all to grab ahold of anything as they stumbled in place. "Deals get broken all the time. That's just something you'll have to learn to deal with." She exhaled in a calming manner, closing her eyes as she massaged her eyelids. The pressure rapidly left which allowed the three younger women to regain their footing and take a frightful step away from the drape wearer. "Look, in case you girls have forgotten, I have very dangerous people after me and I think it's extremely likely that they will be there tonight. Should they attack, I need to know that you girls can escape safely so I can focus on them."

"So, there truly was someone there during our outing in Vale? How can you be sure that they will be at the warehouse?" Asked Weiss as she sat down next to her partner.

Ruby sighed and placed a hand on her hips which she bucked sideways as she raised her other hand in a nonchalant manner. "Convenience mostly. They can't afford to make a scene that would expose them to the public just yet and one of them understands that quite well. They went to Junior for information and most likely did some digging on their own considering the fact that one of them can turn invisible. I wouldn't be surprised if they found out about the heist at some point." She then raised an eyebrow towards the heiress. "Did you really think there was no one that day?"

She and her partner gained nervous expressions as they attempted to answer her question. Fortunately for them, Blake was the one who spoke first. "Well, hallucinations which blend past and present are one of the possible symptoms of PTSD." She spoke in a slow, understanding manner only betrayed by the slight waver in her voice. "It's not that farfetched to assume that you could have suffered from something similar."

A silent groan escaped Ruby as she shook her head. "Whatever. We should get to the airbus. I already texted Sun while we were heading back here, to wait for us there." She then looked to her side with an amused expression. "I'm going to need my arm back though."

It was then that everyone noticed how the blond teacher had been holding onto the ravenette's arm for a while; most likely ever since she had released that pressure earlier.

Glynda became red from embarrassment as she swiftly distanced herself from her colleague. She then cleared her throat in an attempt to regain her composure before heading towards the door. "I-I will be waiting with mister Wukong."

Once gone, the four teammates stared at one another until Ruby decided to break the silence as she went after the older woman. "Alright, let's get this thing over with already."

The voyage to the warehouse had been rather effortless for the most part. The airbus had been mostly empty and the few passengers who had been with them were students that were used to being in the presence of the ravenette at this point. They were understandably confused at the roster sitting across from them but kept quiet under the stern glare from Glynda which only lessened once Ruby had noticed her colleague's action.

Once arrived in Vale, they quickly took the the rooftops to avoid attracting attention to themselves which Weiss had strongly opposed; arguing that she would not be able to keep up with them without her glyphs which are rather eye catching. The drape wearer offered to carry her, much to her excitement and resentment of her peers, only to be suddenly lifted into the air by Glynda's semblance as they proceeded towards their destination.

They now stood near the warehouse, inspecting the area for vantage points while avoiding the line of sight of the site's cameras. They settled on the rooftop of an adjacent building which brought a new problem for a few of them.

"So, like, is miss Goodwitch gonna haul us up there?" Asked Yang, scratching her scalp as she stared upwards at their objective. "'Cause I don't see any ladders or stairs like back in town and I doubt you'd let me use my gauntlets."

Ruby glanced at the Glynda with a questioning gaze, prompting her colleague to respond. "The purpose of my presence is simply to assure the safety of the students. How you proceed with this task of yours is entirely up to you."

Sun scoffed as he hit Yang on the back. "You girls are acting like you've never been in a city before." He then ran towards the structure's wall before leaping upwards and grabbing onto any surface that would allow him to climb or boost himself to the top. "See? It's not that hard."

Blake rolled her eyes before using her weapon's ribbon to hoist herself towards the monkey faunus as they both smirked at one another.

Weiss watched them both with a mix of unease and embarrassment. "Right, well, I'm... not doing that."

Yang huffed confidently. "Speak for yourself." She said, taking a step forward only to be brought back by a tug on her collar, courtesy of her sister.

"You can practice all you want at home, but not here." Scolded the ravenette impassively.

The heiress turned towards Ruby with a raised eyebrow. "Would it be sensible to use my glyphs now? The chances of being seen by any bystander is quite low currently."

The drape wearer nodded as she pulled her struggling sibling closer. "Stick to platform glyphs. No need to waste dust this early." She then turned towards her colleague as Weiss joined the two faunus. "Need a lift?"

Glynda gazed at her quizzically however, the thought of being carried by the celebrity did entice her somewhat. "I... wouldn't be opposed." She answered while suppressing her enthusiasm.

The three students on the roof were taken by surprise and slight horror as the ravenette erupted into rose petals which engulfed both blondes and dissolved them into more petals before launching themselves towards the rooftop. The cloud of roses then condensed into three shapes which morphed back into the three women.

Yang had stumbled onto the ground, holding herself up with her arms as she groaned in annoyance. "I thought we asked you to warn us before you did that."

Ruby rolled her eyes, placed her hands on her hips and bent over as she grinned at the brawler. "Yeah, five years ago, a bit longer in dad's case. You know how memory goes with age."

She then turned towards Glynda, ignoring the glare sent her way by her sister, and gained a concerned expression as she noticed her colleague's state. To her credit, the combat instructor had managed to stay upright as she stood frozen in place, gazing into the air with a dazed expression.

"You okay there?" Hesitantly asked the ravenette, placing a hand on the woman's shoulder.

She blinked a few times before staring into the celebrity's eyes, her expression unchanging as she replied. "Is that how it always feels when you use your semblance...?"

Ruby scoffed humorously as she marched towards the edge of the roof which overlooked the warehouse's yard. "Please, it's usually so much faster and fun."

Blake blinked her shock away as she noticed a particular detail. "Doesn't your semblance leave ephemeral petals behind, usually?"

The others looked around and noticed that there were, in fact, no petals around them, prompting them to turn towards the ravenette who kneeled at the edge of the roof, scanning the ground below. "Wouldn't be very discreet to leave evidence behind, even if they are temporary. I learned to suppress that part, though I like having them around. They're just so beautiful to look at." She emphasized her point by flicking her wrist, sending sent a burst of petals into the air which fell around her before slowly dissipating into the air.

Her eyes narrowed as she turned towards them. "Enough about that, we got a few things to set up." She reached behind her back and took out a handful of earpieces which she handed to each of them. "These are interconnected without the need for a scroll. I want all of you to wear one which will stay on until we're done here, understood?"

They all, Glynda excluded, nodded with a confused expression as they stared at her drape. Sun pointed towards the cloth as he raised an eyebrow. "Where were you keeping those?"

Ruby glared at him, making them wince fearfully, before glancing back towards the other young adults. "Got any questions related to our current objective?"

Weiss inspected the earpiece between her fingers with a mix of wonder and surprise. "These are Atlesian tech. How did you get your hand on them?"

The ravenette stared quizzically as she tilted her head sideways. "Your sister gave me a whole bunch before leaving for Vale." She answered, her tone suggesting that it should have been obvious. Her attention was stolen by a patrolling guard which made her duck down. "Alright, once Torchwick and the maybe White Fang show up, Weiss will be in charge." She then unclasped her weapon from behind her back and morphed it into an impressive anti material rifle. She then reached behind her back and took out a magazine which she slotted into her weapon before pulling the lever which released a rather ominous sound as it loaded the first bullet. "For now, I'll be in charge."

Turning towards her colleague, Ruby eyed the bag she had been carrying as she addressed her. "Glynda, do what you gotta do." She then met her partner's gaze. "Blake, you-"

"Hang on, the hell's the bag for?" Interrupted Yang as she pointed at the object in question. "And how did none of us notice it until now?"

Weiss gave her partner a confused expression as she replied. "I'm pretty sure we all did. We simply didn't question it, although I would be lying if I said I wasn't curious."

Ruby pinched the bridge of her nose as she released an exasperated sigh. "Ozpin wants a recording of tonight's events."

"Blackmail?" Inquired Blake, glaring at the blond teacher.

Glynda glared back, effortlessly gaining back her dominance over the students as she used her semblance to take out the recording equipment from her bag. "The headmaster would not stoop so low, miss Belladonna. It is quite uncommon for us to allow a team of first years to involve themselves in such dangerous situations, even a remarkable one such as yours." She then installed the equipment in a location that gave the most line of sight of the yard before focusing back on the cat faunus. "It would be a shame not to record combat data of the various parties involved in this... plight."

"And there you have it." Said the ravenette as she caught Blake's attention once more. "Speaking of cameras; you up for some infiltration tonight?"

The ashen-haired woman's expression hardened as she tightened her grip on her weapon. "Server room?"

Ruby hummed in affirmation. "Security too if they have one. You need anything?"

Blake shook her head as she took out her scroll. "I still have some old breaching softwares from when I was with the White Fang. I can't guarantee that it'll work though."

The celebrity blinked in surprise as her eyes went from her partner to their teammates a few times. Noticing the lack of reaction from the latter, aside from Weiss' grimace, she smiled as a relieved sigh escaped her. "Well, that's one less thing for me to worry about. Alright, do your thing and keep your earpiece on. I want frequent updates."

The cat faunus nodded before running towards the warehouse as she took off her bow, disappearing from their sight a moment later once she found an entry point.

"The rest of you will station yourselves at different points around here. Stay in groups of two minimum and call in if you see anything suspicious, got it?" She added, staring at each of them with a resolute expression.

"Small problem with that. We're an odd number of people." Argued Yang, a hand on her hip as she gestured at all of them.

Weiss nodded as she glanced towards the two other choices before shivering in slight dread at the thought of being alone with them. "I would be delighted to pair up with you, miss Rose. It would be a great opportunity to witness a professional at work."

Ruby gained an amused smirk as she shook her head. "I appreciate the feeling, Weiss, but I think it would be better if you'd take this chance to work with your partner. Learn of each other's move and decision-making while on the field." She then raised her rifle to look through the scope. "Besides, I'll be fine on my own and I'd feel better knowing that Glynda's watching over at least one of you which just so happens to be our Mistrali stowaway."

Once mentioned, the other women turned to stare at the monkey faunus who sent them a confused expression as he gestured towards the direction where Blake had last been seen. "Was I the only one here who didn't know she was part of the Fang?"

They impassively stared at him before the temperature duo rolled their eyes and left towards one of the few spots suggested by the ravenette. Glynda sigh as she lifted Sun into the air with her semblance and turned to leave. However, before she could take a single step, she was halted by Ruby mumbling.

"Huh, that's... Odd."

She gained a curious expression as she approached the rifle wielding woman. "What is it?" She asked while crouching down next to her.

"No matter where I look, I keep seeing one of the same three guards." Observed the ravenette as she detached her scope from the firearm and handed it to her colleague.

"That is odd. Especially considering the size of this place." Replied Glynda, looking through the object.

"And the cargo." Added Ruby when their earpiece alerted them of an incoming transmission.

"Guys? Something's not right here." Whispered Blake with a worried tone.

Ruby raised two fingers to her ear as she replied. "What is it?"

"There's no one inside. I've been steering clear from the cameras but have yet to see anyone patrolling the place." There was a slight pause followed by a grunt of effort and light footsteps. "Nevermind, one guy just came out of the security room, human, but that's the only one I've seen. He seems to be heading outside."

"Alright, stick to the plan for now, but I want you out of there at any signs of danger." Ended the ravenette as she raised her rifle back up to look through the iron sight.

Glynda gazed at the scope in her hand then brought it towards her colleague. "Do you wish for it back?"

"Nah, we're too close for it to be that helpful to me anyway. I was using it to try and see if our... invisible friend left any traces. Should they be here already."

The blond froze as her grip on the roof's edge strengthened. Her eyes darted towards every possible hidding places and vantage points in view as she got closer to the riflewoman. "Found anything?"

Lowering her rifle once more, Ruby relaxed her stance as she raised an eyebrow at her colleague. "You think I'd still be on this rooftop if I did?" She then looked behind them and became more alerte as her she searched around them. "Where's Sun?"

Glynda joined in her panic until she noticed a second set of blond hair where the temperature duo had taken post. With a frustrated sigh, she tapped the drape wearer's shoulder and pointed in their direction, reassuring the younger woman as she went back to observing the yard.

"That kid, I swear. Never could keep him idle for long. Whatever, your semblance can still reach them from here, so I'll let it slide."

Yang had noticed her sister's panic which did alarm her momentarily until she noticed the monkey faunus heading towards them. Once close enough, she stared at him with an unimpressed look as she laid back on the roof. "Can I ask why you're here instead of with miss Goodwitch like what was planned?"

He scoffed as he sat on the ventilation system. "Come on, I'm still relatively close aren't I? Besides, these two look like they could use some time alone."

"No, they don't." Coldly growled the two teammates as they glared at him.

The sudden intensity made him raise his hands and tail in surrender as his eyes darted between the two. He then raised an eyebrow towards the blond. "Aren't you her sister or something?"

Yang's glare intensified. "Half sister, but that's not the important thing right now."

Weiss nodded as she went back to observing the guards. "Exactly, we must be ready for anything. We're not just talking about low life criminals here." She received questioning glances from the two blonds which made her roll her eyes. "No, not the White Fang. Miss Rose's adversaries."

"Oh." They replied simultaneously when they suddenly heard an audio queue from their earpiece.

"Ruby? I managed to unlock the security room's computer." Announced Blake, still speaking in a hushed voice although there was a trace of hesitation in her tone.

On the opposite side of the roof, they could see Ruby reach for her earpiece as she replied. "Something's wrong?"

"Well, I've opened up the camera monitoring software and, uh, it says that there's no signal."

As soon as she finished her sentence, one of the warehouse's door opened to reveal the human guard she had warned them about a few minutes ago. The ravenette raise her rifle towards the man and followed his movement while she continued to talk with her partner.

"Cameras look untouched on our end. Try to see if you can gain access. If not, leave and get to the servers." She then paused for a few seconds. "Actually, before you go, mind checking if they keep a schedule for their employees? With that guy from the warehouse, I count only four guards for tonights shift."

"On it."

"There's definitely something weird going on." Commented Yang as she knelt next to her partner to watch over the yard. "You ready for this?"

The heiress winced as she gazed downwards at her hands. "If it were simply this Roman Torchwick and the White Fang? I have full confidence that I would be able to lead us to victory. This, however, is a completely different story. She said that these people were highly dangerous. For her to say such a thing; how powerful must they be? Would we even be able to defend ourselves if need be?"

They fell silent, unable to answer her questions; only able to look away as the white-haired woman's dread seeped into them. Their musing was cut short as Blake's panicked voice came through their earpiece.

"The server room was sabotaged!" She exclaimed as they all stood on alert. "No wonder the computer received no signal."

"What type of sabotage are we talking about?" Asked Ruby as she glared at the four guards who stood in a circle.

"It's as if a Boarbatusk rampaged through the whole room." Replied the cat faunus as they received a picture of the room on their scrolls.

To their surprise, Glynda had decided to intervene. "Would it be possible that they might have left some hard drives intact?"

"No, whoever did this knew what they were doing, somewhat at least."

"Something tells me that whoever they are: they're standing right in front of us." Hypothesized the ravenette as she used her scroll to photograph the guards.

"Ruby, about that, I found a schedule earlier. There really are only four guards today, yet every other day has at least eight of them." Added Blake with a serious tone. She then hummed in a mix of surprise and curiosity. "Guys, I think I hear a bullhead incoming."

This made the others take out their weapons as Ruby searched the sky.

"Alright, get out of there. From here on out, Weiss will be team lead." Said the drape wearer as she stood up to reposition herself where she would have a better angle of the oncoming bullhead and the four guards. However, she seemed to have focused her attention on everything but those.

"It might be too careless for me to join you as things are right now, I will be on the warehouse's roof." Informed Blake, leaving them with a grunt of effort as the last sound they could hear from her.

Weiss sighed as she reached for her earpiece. "Fine, but stay hidden, we'll let whatever's about to transpire play out for a few minutes to be sure of our situation."

She received a hum of affirmation from the cat faunus as they watched the aforementioned bullhead land in a clear section of the yard as the guards casually approached the craft.

"Okay, these guys are clearly in on it." Noted Yang as she deployed her gauntlets, ready to jump down at any moment.

Weiss slapped her on the shoulder with a glare. "Stand down, you dunce. What if they see you?"

Yang glared back in mix of playfulness and genuine annoyance. "I'm not the one in all white clothing."

They were suddenly grabbed the shoulders and forced to duck by Sun who shushed them. "If the White Fang's on that ship, they'll hear your pointless arguing from down there."

"He's right. Focus on the task at hand girls, the leader especially." Scolded Ruby from their earpiece.

The bullhead's door lowered revealing a good amount of White Fang members along with Roman Torchwick who ordered them to gather what they could as two more bullheads arrived.

"Blake?" Called out Ruby only to be met with silence. "Blake, can you hear me?"

"I-I'm here. I just... it's really them..."

The temperature duo observed the criminals. Swaying tails, jagged teeth or claws, patches of fur, scaled skin or paroxysmal movements of animal ears gave away their nature as faunus. They sent a worried glance towards their black themed teammate which went unnoticed while the woman in question stared at the criminals.

The guards stood in front of Torchwick as one of them separated from the group to confront the man. "Server's totalled and I made sure that no hard drive was left untouched. We just need something that will divert the suspicions away from us."

Roman scratched his chin as he hummed in wonder. "Right, right..." He then swiftly stole a pistol from one of the White Fang members before shooting all four of them in the stomach.

Unable to bring forth their aura in time, the guards fell to the ground, screaming in pain and anger.

"What... the fuck... Torchwick!" Grunted the leader as he held his injury to the best of his ability.

Ruby aimed her rifle right at the ginger haired man's head as she addressed her colleague. "Can you get them up here once we get in there?" She saw the blonde nod. "They probably aren't able to concentrate well enough to have their aura keep them alive. Fix that." She then pressed a finger against her earpiece. "Weiss! Now's the time to issue some orders!"

"S-something's wrong with Yang! I-I don't know what to do!" Stammered the heiress, making the ravenette gaze in their direction in panic.

Roman stared at the faunus who's weapon he had stolen and grinned as he noticed their canine features. "Fetch." He mocked as he threw the pistol away, prompting the surrounding faunus to glare at him.

Hearing the pained groans of the people he shot; he knelt down next to the closest one, smiling callously. "Don't be like that. Think of it on the bright side! If you live through this, you'll get paid and no one will blame any of you! That's certainly more that what I'll get, don't you think?"

Ruby rushed to her sister with her semblance and grabbed onto her shoulders to make them face one another. "What's wrong?"

Yang's eyes were wide opened as she turned her head to stare at the downed men. "He... he just shot them... they're bleeding..."

The ravenette sighed as she raised a hand to hold onto the brawler's cheek, forcing her head towards her before leaning in until her forehead rested against her sibling's. "It's okay." She shushed while gently forcing her to sit down. "We'll save them. Let's get you to Glynda for now okay?"

The young blond's shrunken pupils shook, alternating between both of her sister's eyes as she shook her head. "N-no, I want to help."

"I know sunshine, I know. But you're not in the right place for now. I need you to calm down while we go down there. Can you do that for me?" Reassured the drape wearer, taking hold of her hand while carefully leading her towards her colleague. When the brawler shamefully looked away, Ruby spoke into her earpiece. "We're on a timer people. Get down there, now! Glynda, grab Yang with the four guards. Sorry Weiss, we'll try again another time."

Blake was the first to respond as she ran across the warehouse rooftop, laser focused on Torchwick. "On it."

"Understood." Said the Heiress as she launched herself with her glyph.

"Alright!" Exclaimed Sun as he back flipped off the building.

The cat faunus pounced as she drew her weapon, still in its cleaver like sheath and swung it towards the bowler hat wearing man. However, right as her blade neared its target, she was suddenly blocked by a pink parasol which materialized out of thin air along with odd broken glass. She was then hit on her ribs which sent her flying away from her target. Her aura having taken most of the damage, she quickly recovered and used her momentum to spin herself until she landed back on her feet.

"Blake!" Exclaimed Weiss in concern as she made a few glyphs, changing her course to land between her teammate and the criminals before raising her weapon in a defensive stance. "What was that?"

"I'm fine, thanks." Groaned the cat faunus in a mix of sarcasm and resentment. It was then that they noticed the new arrival who stood beside Roman. At a height that was surprising shorter than Weiss even while wearing a heels, a woman — who's hair color could be described as neapolitan ice cream — twirled a folded pink parasol while smirking at them.

Torchwick mimicked her action with his cane as he sent her an amused grin. "Everyday, you remind me why I love to have you around." He then faced the monochrome duo as his eyebrows furrowed. "Now, what do we have here?"

A gasp coming from one of the White Fang members caught their attention. "T-that's Blake Belladonna and Weiss Schnee!"

The other members adopted an offensive stance as grit their teeth in anger while their mask covered glares could be felt by all. However, one of them stood with a confused expression as he scratched his head. "Adam's girl?"

Blake stomped her foot in outrage as she glared towards the man with a flustered expression. "We never dated!" She then turned to face the rooftop where Ruby could be seen aiming her rifle towards the group. "We were young and curious! It never went further than a kiss!"

The ravenette lowered her weapon with a sigh as she pressed on her earpiece. "Blake, it would be great if you didn't reveal the location of your ranged support in the future..." She then burst into a cloud of petals which crashed onto the grounds below before dashing like a violent wave towards them. Once close enough, she materialized before shouldering Crimson Harvest which had been turned into dual swords. "Besides, if talking about your love life is enough to break your focus; you won't last very long."

The criminals who surrounded them took a wary step backwards as they adopted a defensive stance.

"Ruby Rose?! What is she doing here?!"

"Isn't she supposed to be at Beacon?!"

"Fuck this, I'm not going against her! You heard what she did back in Menagerie?!"

A few White Fangs dropped their weapon as they slowly backed away from the celebrity with their hands raised in surrender. Most of their peers glared at them as they started berating them for their cowardice. However, the remaining few, not part of either groups, exploded into hushed conversations as they hesitantly fiddled with their weapons.

"I mean... she helped my grandma plant her garden. It wouldn't feel right to fight her..."

"If it weren't for the territorial expansion she did, my family would have ended up in the streets, man..."

"Apparently, she babysat my sister when my mom got called in to work urgently."

In the midst of the confusion caused by Ruby's presence, Glynda brought the four injured guards to her as she marched closer to inspect their wounds. Grabbing onto the first man's shoulder, she firmly shook him while forcing his head upwards to face her.

"I understand that you currently are in immense pain, but I need you to look into my eyes and focus on your aura. I will use some of mine around your injury to help you. This is the optimal way to ensure your survival until we can get you treated."

She did the same for the other two, but paused as she knelt next to the fourth man and identified his wound. Her knee rested into the pool of blood which had formed under him as she grabbed onto his shivering hands with a sigh. "Do you have any message you would request to relay to a relative?"

The man froze momentarily until an acknowledging smile formed on his lips. "Nah, they wouldn't understand anyway. Though I have one for her." He replied, nodding towards Yang, who had been staring at them with wide eyes the whole time. Noticing the intense glare sent his way by the blond teacher, he chuckled while propping himself against a wall. "Lady, I'm dying. I have nothing to gain from her. She, however, looks like she could use a few words."

Glynda's gaze flickered towards the man's bleeding wound before releasing a huff as she nodded in acquiescence. "Miss Xiao Long, this man would like a quick word with you."

"M-me?" She stuttered as she snapped out of her trance, turning her head away while keeping her anxious expression.

The man chuckled. "I don't see a third blond up here."

He groaned in pain as the combat instructor walked away to inspect the others, keeping both of them at the edge of her sight at all time. She huffed in disbelief at her decision before communicating the situation to Ruby through the earpiece.

Nodding gratefully at her, he turned back towards the brawler, who kept her gaze away from him. "First time seeing that much blood?" The way she winced told him all he needed to know. "Yeah... it sure ain't pretty, but y'know, if you wanna be a huntress like your sister over there, you'll have to get used to it."

Yang stared directly at him in shock, a silent question lingering in her eyes.

"Don't be that surprised, after all this time it'd have been a miracle if no one knew. You're lucky your sister was smart enough to keep it a secret until she came back." His eyes dropped as his tone became somber. "Sure wish I had been..."

"What... do you mean?" Asked the young adult, confused at his last comment.

He grinned as he looked up into the night sky. "Don't get me wrong. It ain't one of those 'I regret everything' moment. I had mouths to feed and couldn't find a job anywhere. My life sits on a mountain of corpses and I would climb it again if it meant keeping my loved ones safe and fed."

He then gazed towards the group down below, the confusion from a few minutes before had now escalated as the White Fang were now separated in two groups: one defended the drape wearer while the other had been trying to convince their fellow men to step aside.

The dying man pointed towards Ruby and smiled as he side eyed the blond. "I'm sure she would say the same." Weakened from his blood loss, he let his arm fall back into the thick crimson pool under him. "You gotta do what you can to protect your family..." He let go off his wound to wave her away. "Go on, you don't have to see this."

Tears fell from Yang's eyes as she tightly shut them before standing up with a determined expression. "Thanks..." She muttered then jumped off the roof while deploying her gauntlets.

Once out of his sight, the man chuckled once more. "Kids..." He huffed before pulling a silenced pistol from under his uniform and shooting his colleagues in the head, easily breaking though their weakened aura.

Caught off guard, Glynda extended a hand to disarm him with her semblance before furiously marching towards him. "Why would you do such a thing?!"

The man answered with a relieved smile as life slowly faded from his eyes. "Now they're safe..."

The teacher leaned against a wall with a frustrated groan and combed her hair back with her fingers while gazing at the gory aftermath. "Killers with morals. I swear you are the worst to deal with." She then used her telekinesis to take the men's jackets off and use them to cover their blown out heads. Once done, she took out her scroll and dexterously typed a number before bringing the device to her ear.

"Have you no shame! She's a human!"

"Not all humans are bad!"

"Then why the fuck did you join the Fang?!"

"Some of us just want to give the bad ones what's coming for them! Doesn't mean that we have to kill all of them!"

"C-come on, guys! You really don't want to be against that, trust me. I've seen what she can do."

While the Faunus argued between themselves; Ruby, Blake and Weiss stood on the side with perplexed expression as they witnessed the event unfolding in front of them.

"What... is going on?" Asked Weiss, more confused than she has ever been.

"I... think I did something. I'm not sure what, but something's happening." Ruby replied with a shrug of her shoulders. She had tucked away her weapon a few minutes ago when she noticed that the criminals were no longer focused on fighting.

Blake's cat ears fell flat against her head as she facepalmed. "All of that just because you showed up..." She groaned before shaking her head. "Well at least this might allow us to end this peacefully."

Two gunshots echoed through the container yard which silenced all of those present. Turning towards the sound's origin, Sun could be seen holding two lever action shotguns both linked to a replica of themselves through a short gold chain attached by the guns' handle. The barrels smoked as he used the weapons' weight to pull their lever before pointing them forward once more.

"Where do you two think you're going?" He said aggressively, keeping focus on his targets.

Following his gaze, they found both Roman and his associate who attempted to flee inside a bullhead.

"The fuck are you doing?" Roared a White Fang member, raising his firearm towards the bowler hat wearer.

The ginger facepalmed before gesturing towards the group of vigilantes. "Look around, you animals! This heist is a bust and we got Ruby fucking Rose to deal with! I'm not gonna stand around and let myself get caught while you dumbasses argue like children!"

Before anyone could answer, the sound of heeled boots echoed at an unusually high volume around them. Facing its origin, the faunus quickly freed a path once they caught a glimpse of Ruby's expressionless face for it wasn't what they could see that scared them, it was what they could feel. As the Ravenette menacingly marched past them, they could feel the hair at the back of their necks stand in fright at the intimidating presence she radiated.

Roman took a step back, unsettled by the approaching woman before glancing towards his partner whose grip on her weapon trembled as her breathing hastened. "Shit, we won't be able to slip away if she's panicking like that..." He thought to himself, not noticing how close the silver-eyed woman had gotten.

It was only once she had gripped his shoulder, did he snap out of his thoughts in fright. Her expression still flat, Ruby slowly leaned close to his ear, her breath tickling his skin as she spoke. "So, you were thinking of just shooting four men and leaving without consequences?"

When a swift movement happened at the edge of his vision, his eyes darted in its direction only to discover that the ravenette had been holding onto the hidden blade of his associate's parasol between two of her fingers.

Silver-eyes shone ominously as they stared directly into the eyes of her assailant. "You try that again and you won't like where that fancy umbrella of yours will end up."

The tricolored hair woman fell to the ground in fear as she let go of the weapon which Ruby twirled to retract the blade before handing it back to her, much to her confusion.

"Now..." Started the celebrity turning back to face the man she held. "I think you have a lot to answer for."

Lips parted in a futile attempt at a witty remark, Roman could only release a nervous chuckle before the familar sound of a certain blond's gauntlets firing brought the drape wearer's attention away from him.

Yang landed next to her teammates with a hardened expression. "Sorry about that, I'm okay now." She said in a low tone.

A gust of wind and rose petals crashed onto her as Ruby appeared in front of her. "I thought I told you to stay with Glynda." She stated while gently grabbing onto her sister's cheeks.

The brawler raised a hand to hold onto the ravenette's own while giving her a reassuring smile. "I-I'll be fine. I have to do this."

The ravenette stared into her eyes, analyzing her expression before sighing. "Fine, it's not like there's much left to do anyway." Her eyes suddenly widened as she spun around faster than anyone could perceive as the sound of two metallic objects crashing against one another resounded around them followed by a shockwave which either pushed some away or made them fall to the ground.

Once the dust had settled, the younger members of team RWBY raised their heads and recoiled in shock at the sight on front of them. Ruby was gone, fighting an invisible adversary away from them, but that wasn't it. Along the path of where this new arrival came from, multiple White Fang members had been dismembered or beheaded at various angles and were now spraying blood all around them as they bodies fell to the ground.

"What the fuck!" Screamed one of the remaining members, falling onto his back as the headless corpse of his fellow member fell on top of him.

Panic errupted amongst them as they all fled from the massacre, stumbling across the bodies and each other while some of them fell over to vomit wherever they landed.

"H-holy shit..." Breathed out Blake as she took a trembling step backwards, her eyes never leaving the recently deceased. "W-what just happened?"

Weiss stood still unable to look away from the horror that laid in front of them. Her ears were ringing while her mind drank in every gory details her eyes were registering. She was not disturbed by the sight of blood like Yang had been earlier, but this was not simply blood.

The blond had fallen onto her back and crawled away as her heart threatened to burst out of her chest. The terror which gripped her entire being prevented her from screaming at the sight of the brutalized men in front of her. Metallic clangs made her gaze in her sister's direction where she could observe the ravenette spin in place while swinging her two swords defensively in seemingly arbitrary directions while sparks flew from them with each repeated resonating sound. She had been moving at such a speed, Yang was surprised she had been able to tell her movements apart in the first place.

Her heart rate still peaking, she shut her eyes as the words from the man she had spoken to earlier came back into her mind. She had wanted to be here, to be with her sister and help her. This is a sight she would have to get used to, she had to. Taking a deep, trembling breath, she opened her eyes and focused on the pile of bodies which bled into an expanding crimson sea. With heavy gasps, she pushed herself to absorb every detail she could perceive, sometimes looking away only to force herself back. She felt nauseous as she gazed into the opened necks of the fallen men and the various pulsating organs which had fallen from the cleaved bodies. Noticing that some of them were twitching brought tears to her eyes as she wondered if they were still conscious or if was simply nervous spasm.

At some point, she had managed to recover enough to stand up on quivering legs as she grabbed both of her teammates arms. "C-come on, we gotta-"

Her sentence was cut short when a purple glow enveloped them which was followed by then being launched in the air. While Weiss was still trapped in her own mind, Blake and Yang noticed that the strength they had been launched with was no where near as strong as it should have been which resulted in them landing on the roof where Glynda and the four dead men were.

The impact having broken the heiress out of her thoughts, the three of them slowly picked themselves up while wondering why they had been brought here.

"Miss Goodwitch? What's going on?" Asked Blake. Her eyes widened when the first thing she noticed was the unconscious form of their instructor while a man with an odachi attached to his hip stood besides her.

He stood slightly taller than Ruby, sporting what seemed like Mistrali armor one could read about in history books which rested oddly over modern clothes. Every muscle structure which could be perceived seemed perfectly trained to lethal efficiently without making them look bloated or bulky. His squared jawline was covered by a stubble beard and his hair was tied in a short ponytail while a few stay strands hung loosely around his face. However, there was one feature which had made them immediately freeze in place: two glowing silver eyes.

"What a curious coincidence." He said while marching towards them.

Immediately, an overwhelming fear took hold of them as they stumbled away from him. His very presence felt like facing death itself as his gaze danced between the three of them. They fell to the ground as they reached the edge of the roof and could only whimper in despair as he stopped a few steps away from them.

"I know you; you're the children she was guarding a few weeks ago." Remarked the man while crouching to their level.

His eyes suddenly narrowed — making them flinch dreadfully — once his sight settled on Yang. He hummed in wonder while taking a scroll out of his pocket. Fiddling with the device, grunting in annoyance a few times when he got lost in the interface, a picture of the brawler was suddenly displayed on the screen which he raised to compare with the woman in front of him.

An amused chuckle escaped him as he pocketed the device. "This should be interesting."

Sparks flew from her sharp blades as Ruby danced in a circle to block the unseen strikes from her adversary. Having seen her teammates get launched away by her colleague's semblance, she reassured herself that she could focus on this fight without having to worry about them. Somehow, whoever she was fighting was able to perfectly conceal not only themselves, but any trace of their movements, whether it be sound, traces of footsteps or dust clouds from their lunges.

"I wonder, are you truly as incredible as they say? Or is it I, that is too weak?" Said a young feminine voice to her right, prompting the ravenette to slash her sword in said direction. Further ahead, a large slash appeared out of thin air along a wall as Ruby switched back to a defensive stance.

She grinned while scanning her surroundings. "Interesting mutation you got there or is it your semblance? Probably a mix of both if I were to guess." Crouching on one leg while sweeping the other, she leaned backwards as her enemy's unseen blade slide across her raised sword before standing upright once more. "So, who's descendant are you? Plague? Famine? Whatever you got going on certainly fits them."

An angered growl came from behind her allowing her to swiftly face it and raise her swords until she felt them contact her adversary's blades. Having been given a few extra seconds to prepare, Ruby managed to twirl one of her swords until she could feel her arm wrap around the other woman's before using her momentum to slam her against the floor. Pressing her advantage, she wrapped a leg around the arm she was holding which allowed her to use her hands to disarm the invisible foe. She was about to attempt the same action with the other arm until she felt a kick to the back of her head which gave her opponent enough leeway to free herself from the drape wearer's grasp.

Using her semblance to quickly recover, Ruby noticed that the weapon she had disarmed was no longer cloaked by her adversary's ability, revealing a dagger about half the length of her dual swords which could categorize it as a short sword were it not for the obvious dagger-like design of the blade. Not wasting any time, she used her foot to launch the dagger upwards and grabbed onto its handle before twisting herself and striking directly onto another shrouded attack. However, instead of a hit and run attack like she had been doing this whole time, her assailant remained as their blades grated against one another.

"I... am... a descendant... of war!" She roared before punching Ruby in the stomach which did no damage due to her aura but made enough of an impact to separate each other before she ducked down to sweep the ravenette's legs.

As soon as she hit the ground, Ruby used her semblance and poured a bit more aura than usual into it to create a large cloud of petals, blocking the invisible woman's vision enough to get some distance away from her. "Okay. Kinda feels like I struck a nerve there, but you can see where I'm coming from right?"

Her opponent released an enraged cry before lunging at the ravenette, the few rose petals that remained in the air allowing Ruby to temporarily track her movement as they clashed against one another.

Crimson Harvest had been reverted to its compact form and rested on the celebrity's back as she expertly fought her imperceptible foe with the dagger she had aquired. The longer they went, the harder they struck.

The three younger women of team RWBY cowered as the odachi user grabbed Yang by the chin and forced her to face him. Tears fell from her eyes as she was hit by the full force of his overpowering presence.

Weiss steeled herself to the best she could as she took hold of Myrtenaster "R-release her at onc-" She screamed frightfully as her rapier was suddenly ejected from her grasp, flying through the air before landing somewhere on the grounds below.

Shockingly, all it took for the man to disarm the heiress, was to swiftly hit the handle of his sheathed weapon, letting the force applied on the scabbard hit the Schnee's rapier. Seemingly unbothered by the interruption, he used his free hand to grab onto Yang's eyelids before forcing them apart, allowing him to stare into her scared lilac eye.

Was it because of her faunus heritage? Blake couldn't quite know, but if there was one thing she was certain of is that every fiber of her being screamed for her to run away. To leap off the rooftop and dash into the night as fast as she could. Unfortunately, her fright proved to be too powerful as her legs had lost all of their strength, leaving her grounded, unable to make a single move as they found themselves at the mercy of this... monster. Even now she watched, frozen as the silver-eyed man groaned in confusion.

"Her sister...?" He shook his head as he let go of Yang's eyelids, his other hand still firmly holding onto her chin. "A ruse perhaps? A bait for ransom or assassins?"

From the corner of their vision, the three young adults noticed Sun leaping off a wall, his firearms now linked together to form a polearm which he swung towards the man. The next thing any of them knew, the monkey faunus had been slammed onto the ground, cracking the pavement of the roof as the odachi user held him down by the neck while crouching over him, having let go of Yang at some point.

"Sorry to disappoint, child, but I wouldn't try doing this to any of our kind in the future if you value your life." He mocked, letting go of Sun only to force him back down with a foot to his back.

Blake seemed to regain some of her senses as she heard him speak. "Y-your... kind?"

His eyes widened with glee as a laugh escaped him. "So, they can speak! Or, one of you at the very least." He then tapped the corner of his eyes. "We're Light's chosen or I think Ruby Rose said something about silver-eyed warriors." He then scoffed humorously. "Seems like his legacy has lived on through the name."

Seeing as they still cowered under his gaze, he raised a curious eyebrow at them. His eyes then widened in realization. "Oh my, of course." The silver glow in his eyes died down as the terrifying pressure was lifted from around them. "Ruby Rose did tell us about our effect on humans."

"Huh?" Wondered outloud the three girls as they stared at the man warily.

He rubbed his beard with an amused grin as he stepped off Sun. "Passive roles are not my preferred assignments, but it was the one I was given. I have no intentions to harm any of you. Unless you give me a reason to." Resting an arm on his sheathed weapon, he pointed towards Yang as his eyes narrowed. "I, however, have a... query for you and am not averse to have it answered through force."

Having regained enough confidence to face the man head on. The blond put on a brave face as she stood protectively in front of her teammates as Sun stumbled to them. Although, if one were to observe her closely, they would notice how her body subtly trembled the moment she stepped closer. She glanced over her shoulder, seeing her sister currently occupied with her own invisible foe before facing the odachi user once more.

Her lips quivering and her eyebrows furrowed as she addressed him. "O-out with it already."

"Where is Ruby Rose's legitimate sister?"

They froze momentarily as they stared at the man in surprise. "Excuse me?" Asked the brawler.

The silver-eyed man grunted as he scratched the back of his head. "I would interrogate her myself, but she's currently occupied with my associate who apparently has her own questions." He then peeked at the fight below. "Well, whenever she regains her composure that is."

"Why do you wish to find her?" Asked Weiss taking hold of her partner's shoulder as she stood besides her.

The odachi user stood silently for a few seconds before smirking as he took a few steps towards them while shaking his head dismissively. "Personal curiosity. I wish to discover who could have driven a woman like her to brave the unknown and resign from any promising future she could have aimed towards."

Yang winced as her hands clenched into fist. "What's that supposed to mean?" She barked, her tone trembling with heartache. "She left... because of me?"

The man must have noticed her distress as he silently stared into her eyes once more. "Oh..." He mumbled in realization. "That's... mildly disappointing. Here I was expecting to find another descendant of the Warrior."

Blake stepped forward to stand on Yang's other side. "Who-"

Her sentence was cut short when a loud metalic clang resounded from the fight below, prompting them to turn around only to recoil when they found themselves facing the silver-eyed man's back.

"When did you-" Exclaimed Sun when his eyes landed on a large dagger whose blade now rested between the tall man's fingers.

Before any of them could address him, he suddenly vanished which would have surprised them if it weren't for the fact that the section of roof they stood on collapsed the moment he did so.

A few minutes earlier, Ruby and her adversary were still parrying each other's strikes; sparks soaring all around them every time their weapon collapsed on one another. While it seemed like they were evenly matched, there was one element which was apparent to the ravenette: her opponent's attacks were losing their precision as time went on.

"How!? How are you and that man able to fend off my strikes so efficiently?!" Roared the woman.

What she hadn't realize then, was that in her rage, she had become more predictable along with one key feature which made her invisibility obsolete to any fighter who could keep up with her speed: Sound. Whether it be whenever she talked or grunted in frustration; whatever ability or training she had gone through which allowed her to mask the sound of her movements was rendered obsolete, allowing Ruby to easily track her.

The drape wearer remained silent as she spun while ducking under the cloaked woman's slash. She then perfectly striked against her dagger with enough strength to disarm her and send the weapon flying before spinning in place to kick her opponent into one of the many containers surrounding them, creating a large dent. Pressing her advantage, she dashed towards the dent and thrusted her dagger where she assumed her adversary's chest would be.

However, her senses screamed at her as she felt an oncoming threat to her side. Left without time to change her course, she used her semblance to disperse herself into her rose petals, crashing harmlessly into the container she had pounced towards before getting some distance from whomever had joined the fight. Although, she felt like she knew the answer already.

As soon as she took shape once more, Ruby dropped the dagger and morphed Crimson Harvest into its high caliber sniper scythe form which she held defensively, expecting a strike which never came. Instead, she was met with the sight of a man wielding a drawn odachi and a few rows of containers cut in half along the path which he had cut towards. The fact that none of the dust shipment had lit up from that slash was frightening in itself.

She twirled her scythe before resting it over her shoulder against her back, ready to engage at any moment. "So, you finally decided to show your face."

The man huffed humorously as he sheathed his weapon. "I should have known that you were aware of my presence. Was the waiting what made it obvious?"

She was about to answer when she caught the familiar colors of her teammates from the corner of her vision. Her blood ran cold as she immediately used her semblance to place herself between them and the man. "What are you still doing here?!" She roared in panic, keeping her eyes trained on the odachi user.

He chuckled while raising his hands in surrender. "Do not blame them. Admittedly, it was my fault. I noticed the gorgeous woman on top of that building about to use her semblance and stopped her before she could interfere with my charge's fight. Next thing I know, these children fall from the sky next to us. I assumed those two events were related."

Ruby simply answered by glaring at him, silently worrying about Glynda's safety along with how she could get Sun and her teammates out of there.

The man's eyes suddenly widened as he used his sheathed weapon to block what the drape wearer assumed to be the invisible woman from besides him. "Calm yourself. Remember what you waited so long for." Lowering the weapon, he then raised a hand towards said shrouded person. "I believe introductions are in order, don't you?"

Ruby's grip on her weapon faltered when the woman's invisibility subsided, revealing a girl who stood around Yang's height wearing light, leather armor over a set of modern clothes which hugged her slim figure. She had short, unkept black hair which spiked in various places along with two glaring silver eyes aimed with animosity at the ravenette. There was one thing however which had shocked not only the celebrity, but those standing behind her as well.

"H-how old are you...?" She stammered, eyes wide as they met the teenager she had been fighting this whole time.

Hey guys! So... two months, huh? Can't say that I'm proud of the time it took me to finish this considering what came out of it, but hey, 2k words more than the last chapter... that's something... right?

Anyway, just wanna say thanks a lot to everyone for giving my story a chance if you've read this far. I know it might not be obvious considering how long it takes me to update, but I really do have this story in my head 24/7.

Last message. As I mentioned at the beginning of this chapter, I'm still planning on reviewing the remaining chapters, but there's one that I want to talk about. In my second Beacon Days chapters there's a certain story called "The Strawberry Incident" which features over the top lewdness, emotional responses and other shenanigans. Believe it or not but that short story was the first of all the Beacon Days that I started writing and while I wanted to make those have the ridiculousness of slice of life stories, The Strawberry Incident (TSI for short and confusion) definitly has a lot of flaws which is why I will be rewritting it at some point. Not the entirety of it mind you, but most likely the second half of it. Having an entire school unable to control themselves after seeing an attractive woman eat sensualy is a bit TOO ridiculous, so I'll probably keep it at the girls in the harem while also toning it down a bit. That's not anywhere soon though so if you enjoyed it, you'll still be able to reread it for a loooooooong time.

Alright, that's all for me! We're almost at the end of volume 1 timeline wise. Hope to see the lot of you when I get there!
