Jasmine's eyes shot open as she felt someone climb onto her bed, and her arms shot towards her wand on the bedside table.
An arm pushed her back down onto the bed before she could grab it.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," a voice Jasmine recognised as Parvati said.
"Jesus Christ, you scared the hell out of me," Jasmine said, letting out a huff.
"Sorry, I wondered if you wanted to join me in the shower. It's been a while since we shared one," Parvati asked.
"Sure," Jasmine said, sitting up as Parvati got off her.
Jasmine rolled out of bed quietly, not wanting to wake any of the other girls up and followed Parvati into the showers.
"So what was yesterday about?" Parvati asked as she removed her robe.
"They found the chamber of secrets, and they needed me to open it up," Jasmine said as she pulled off her pyjamas and folded them up.
"You went into the chamber of secrets?" Parvati asked excitedly.
"Of course not. I just opened the entrance for them," Jasmine said, rolling her eyes and walking under the shower.
"Aww," Parvati sighed.
"What do you mean aww do you want me to fight a monster," Jasmine asked teasingly.
"You killed a dragon when you were seven with a sword im sure you can beat the monster in the chamber," Parvati teased back.
"Those books are lies. I didn't kill a dragon, and I don't live in a castle. I will have to see if I can do anything about them," Jasmine said, letting out an angry huff.
"You aren't wearing a collar?" Parvati said, looking at Jasmine's neck.
"What do you mean? Of course, I am," Jasmine said, bringing her hand to the collar around her neck.
"Really?" Parvati asked.
"Yes, feel," Jasmine said as she pulled Parvati's hand up to her neck.
Parvati let out a gasp as she touched the collar.
"I can see it now?" Parvati asked, confused.
"Oh, I forgot that it was enchanted or charmed to look like a necklace unless you knew it was a collar," Jasmine said, remembering how Daphne had told her that a month ago.
"I didn't think you were that good at charms, and this is a different collar as well?" Parvati said, a smirk forming.
Jasmine felt herself blush as she remembered that she had only told Hermione about her and Daphne.
"Does someone have a dominant?" Parvati teased.
"I think technically it's a mistress?" Jasmine replied.
"Oh, who is the lucky girl?" Parvati asked, pulling Jasmine into an excited hug.
"I... err... I don't know if she would be happy with me telling people," Jasmine said awkwardly.
"That's fair. I haven't told you about my owner either. What have you been doing with your hair recently?" Parvati asked as she ran her fingers through it.
"Sleekeazy's Hair Potion," Jasmine said as she ran her fingers through her jet-black hair.
"It looks good," Parvati said.
"Because it's not all over the place?" Jasmine asked.
"That helps, but it also is much more glossy, and the red hue is much easier to see in the last few days. Can I style your hair after the shower?" Parvati asked.
"I guess I don't really know how to do anything with it," Jasmine admitted.
"I can teach you some simple things," Parvati offered.
"Nothing too complex?" Jasmine checked, knowing how Parvati and Lavender could spend nearly an hour on their hair.
"All simple and take maybe 10 minutes tops," Parvati promised.
"I bet your owner would like to see you with some new hairstyles," Parvati added.
"Okay," Jasmine agreed as she imagined how Daphne would react.
"So, is the monster in the chamber dead?" Parvati asked.
"As far as I know, it was a Basilisk, so they took some roosters, but I was returned to the common room after they entered," Jasmine said.
"I bet there will be an announcement today. Nothing stays a secret at Hogwarts," Parvati said.
"Maybe. Do you know anything about dates?" Jasmine asked.
"Oh, you want to take your owner on a date?" Parvati asked, smirking.
"We sorta went on one before but well..." Jasmine said, trailing off.
"It didn't go well?" Parvati asked, concerned.
"No it was okay but Da... I mean, she ended up taking over as I hadn't really planned anything for us to do."
"Hmm, are they muggle-born?" Parvati asked.
"Pureblood," Jasmine replied carefully.
"Why don't you take them to do something in the muggle world then?" Parvati suggested.
"Like?" Jasmine asked.
"Well, you could go to a cinema or maybe go bowling or ice skating and then for a meal," Parvati suggested.
"I don't know how to bowl or ice skate," Jasmine said awkwardly.
"And? you can both learn together," Parvati said with a shrug.
"How do you know about bowling or ice skating?" Jasmine asked.
"Lavender invited us over the summer and introduced us," Parvati said as she washed her hair.
"You met over the summer?" Jasmine asked.
"Of course. Didn't you meet Ron and Hermione over the summer?" Parvati asked.
"I went over to Ron's for the last few weeks, but I didn't see Hermione over the summer," Jasmine said quietly.
She didn't want to go into how her Aunt and Uncle hated magic and wouldn't let her have any contact with her friends, even if Dobby hadn't been stopping her mail.
"Well, we should meet up over the summer," Parvati said.
"Morning," Hermione said, yawning as she walked into the showers.
Jasmine could help but take a sneaky look at her and compare their bodies.
Jasmine felt embarrassed by how skinny she appeared compared to Hermione. She also found that she was still the shortest in the dorm. She made a promise to herself to start consuming more food.
Jasmine was sure that she looked even worst in the first year. After all, she spent more of that year in Hogwarts eating as much as she wanted, and then she spent half of this summer at the Weasleys.
"Morning," Jasmine said as Hermione stepped under the shower next to her.
"Do you think it will be much longer for the potions for the people who were attacked to be ready?" Parvati asked.
"Not sure. Couldn't they have just ordered some adult mandrakes?" Jasmine asked.
"There are two reasons why. First, the draught requires fresh mandrake, nothing else will do, and it can't be preserved. Second, adult mandrakes don't live for very long, and to be used in the Mandrake Restorative Draught, they can't be adults for more than a week," Hermione explained.
"Im sure these are things that Snape is meant to teach us during his so-called lessons," Jasmine said snarkily.
"I wonder what they will do with the body of the Basilisk?" Hermione asked.
"It depends on who it belongs to. Normally the person who kills it gets the body. But it was on the grounds of Hogwarts, and they needed Jasmine to enter the chamber," Parvati said.
"I will see what the Ministry say, but I will probably just give the money to Hogwarts and the people that were attacked," Jasmine said.
"You sure?" Hermione asked.
"Yes, I have plenty of money. Who knows, maybe the library will get some new books," Jasmine teased.
"Very funny," Hermione said.
"I don't know the last time a new book was added to the library. I know the Ravenclaws add their old books to it," Parvati said.
"Right, your sister is in Ravenclaw."
"Ya, they also have their own sorta private library," Parvati said.
"They have a private library?" Hermione asked, shocked.
"Not in the way you are thinking. Older students have left their books behind for new students. I first started a few hundred years ago as a way for students without much money to have access to a copy of the books they need," Parvati explained.
"Does the library even have copies of our course books?" Jasmine asked.
"Yes and no. If your book gets damaged, you can borrow a copy while you wait for a new one to arrive," Hermione.
"I hope they didn't buy any of Lockhearts trash," Parvati said.
"I wonder if we can get a refund," Jasmine said.
"No, I already tried along with most of the Ravenclaw house," Parvati said.
"Next years, teacher best be a good teacher," Jasmine said, letting out a sigh.
"Wouldn't hold your breath. I have been told that the DADA teacher has been different every year for the last 8 years, and the last 4 have been terrible teachers," Parvati said.
"Come on, let's get out before we turn into prunes," Jasmine said.
"Okay, I have to show you a hairstyle," Parvati said, grabbing a towel and passing it to Jasmine.
"Nothing complex," Jasmine reminded Parvati.
"I know. I promise that it will be quick and easy," Parvati said, pulling Jasmine out of the shower room.
"Good luck," Hermione shouted.
"Aren't you going to save me," Jasmine called back.
"Hush, your my prey now," Parvati joked.
"Very funny," Jasmine said, rolling her eyes.
"Okay, come on, let's do your hair," Parvati said as she cast a drying spell over herself and Jasmine.
"Okay, what are you thinking?" Jasmine asked.
"Hmm, well, we could go with some ponytails or maybe a half-up French twist?" Parvati suggested.
"Err, you decide," Jasmine said, unsure what to pick.
"Okay, turn," Parvati said as she started to pick up several cans from her bedside table.
Jasmine turned around so that her back was facing Parvati.
"Right, so we will start with this texturising spray, and we want to add it around the crown," Parvati said as she flited Jasmine's hair and added the spray.
"Right now, we have added that we gather your hair into a loose ponytail. Now we twist the hair clockwise one full turn. Then with your other hand, you want to feel the twist and make sure that all your hair does twist.
Then hold it in place and repeat, and we are going to keep going till we get to the nape of your neck," Parvati said as she did just that.
"Now we need to pin the twist with bobby pins. We start at the top, hook some of the hair from the twist, and then secure it under the twist.
Around 8 should be enough. With that done, we add a hair elastic to secure the rest of the ponytail, and we are done," Parvati said, stepping back.
"Thank you," Jasmine said as she felt her hair.
"No problem. I look forward to seeing you try it tomorrow," Parvati said.
Jasmine nodded as she moved her hair around, seeing how it felt.
"No problem. Now I need to get dressed and do my own hair," Parvati said.
"Okay, I should get dressed as well," Jasmine said, standing up and walking over to her own bed.
Jasmine felt embarrassed as she recalled the bra and underwear that Daphne had gifted her to wear the previous day. Jasmine wasn't certain if Daphne intended for her to wear them again today. Daphne didn't explicitly instruct her to wear them, nor did she say not to.
Before putting them on, Jasmine made sure no one was around as she couldn't explain why she would wear underwear with the Slytherin crest. Seeing that no one other than Parvati was around, Jasmine freshened them up with a charm Tracey had taught her.
Jasmine quickly pulled the bra on before pulling on her shirt, hiding the snake crest on the bra. She did the same with the underwear, quickly pulling on her shirt before donning her robe and grabbing her shoes.
"You are already ready?" Hermione said, surprised as she walked over to her bed wrapped in a towel.
"Yes, I will go get someone to wake Ron up," Jasmine said.
"Good luck," Hermione said as she dried herself and started to get dressed.
"I will need it," Jasmine said as she left the dorm room.
Walking into the common room, Jasmine saw that most of the house was already there, waiting to leave. Many of them were speculating why Hogwarts had gone on lockdown yesterday.
Jasmine looked around till she found the perfect people to help her to get Ron up. She wasn't going to go into the boy's dorm room herself in case there were people changing.
Knowing her luck, she would walk in why Ron was changing and be scared for life.
Jasmine asked the twins, Fred and George, to check if Ron is awake.
"We are more than happy to help," the twins replied confidently, with identical smirks gracing their faces as they made their way towards the boys' dormitory.
Jasmine let out a silent prey for Ron. She was sure that the two of them wouldn't actually do anything too bad to Ron, maybe just a blast of cold water. Both of the twins came back down laughing and walked over to Jasmine.
"He will be down in a few minutes," they said, smirking.
"Thanks," Jasmine said to the two twins.
With a loud click, the entrance and exit to the common room swung open, and Professor McGonagall walked into the dorm.
"Good morning, everyone. The lockdown of Hogwarts is over, and the problem has been dealt with," Professor McGonagall said, holding her hands up to stop people from talking.
"I know that you must all be curious about what happened yesterday, and after breakfast, the headmaster will give an announcement and let everyone know," Professor McGonagall said calmly.
Jasmine could see that many people wanted to ask Professor McGonagall what happened even after being told that after breakfast, they would be filled in. Under Professor McGonagall's stern look, they didn't seem brave enough to ask and just quickly left the common room and made their way to the Great Hall.
"Hey," Hermione said, walking up from behind Jasmine.
"Hey, there is Ron," Jasmine said as Ron walked into the now-empty common room.
"Morning. Where is everyone?" Ron asked, looking around.
"The Great Hall," Hermione said dryly.
"Well, let's go then im starving," Ron said.
Walking into the Great Hall, Jasmine ignored the curious looks that she got from many of the students and took a seat at the Gryffindor table. They must have missed the very start of breakfast as the food was already on the table.
Seeing that most people were focused on getting food or eating, Jasmine looked over at the Slytherin table and scanned the table looking for Daphne and Tracey.
Jasmine frowned when she couldn't find either Daphne or Tracey. Jasmine turned back to the food and started to pile it up on her plate.
"Hungry?" Hermione asked, surprised at the amount of food Jasmine had taken.
"Im trying to put a bit of weight on," Jasmine said quietly to Hermione.
"You should eat more eggs. They are high in healthy fats compared to sausages and bacon," Hermione said.
"I thought your parents were dentists?" Jasmine asked as she put more eggs onto her plate.
"They are, but they are also super conscious of healthy eating," Hermione shrugged.
After everyone had finished eating, the headmaster stood up, and the hall fell silent.
"Good morning, everyone. Now I am sure you are all confused and curious about what happened yesterday.
The night before yesterday, I managed to find the entrance to the chamber of secrets," Dumbledore announced, making the hall break into whispers.
Dumbledore allowed it for a few moments before she tapped a glass making everyone fall quiet again.
"After finding it, I arranged a meeting with the Ministry as we decided what to do about it. Ultimately, we decided we couldn't risk leaving the monster in the chamber.
So yesterday, we locked down Hogwarts, and I, along with members of the Ministry of Magic, entered the chamber of secrets and killed the monster inside, which was a Basilisk," Dumbledore announced, to the shock and surprise of the students in the hall.
The hall broke into noise as everyone started talking about the fact that a Basilisk was living in the chamber of secrets. The younger students that didn't know what a Basilisk was were asking the older students about the monster, only to pale after learning how dangerous it was.
"Quite," Dumbledore called out in a powerful voice, quieting the hall instantly.
"As I said, the monster has already been killed, so there is no danger to the students, and the Mandrakes will be ready tomorrow to help all those that were attacked by the monster.
It is the opinion of the Hogwarts staff that we will give everyone an early weekend to calm down and relax after this stressful period. So all lessons have been cancelled until the start of next week," Dumbledore announced to the now excited hall.
"Yes!" Ron said happily.
Jasmine looked over at Hermione, who looked a little disappointed but thankfully didn't say anything to anyone. Looking around the rest of the hall, Jasmine could see that many of the other students looked happy to have an early weekend.
With the announcement over, everyone started to leave the hall and meet up with their friends.
"I am going to meet up with Daphne for a bit. Cover for me," Jasmine said, leaning over and whispering to Hermione.
Hermione gave her a curious look but nodded anyway.
"I am going to meet Professor McGonagall to talk about meeting Sirius this weekend," Jasmine said to Ron and Hermione.
"Oh ya, I forgot you are meeting your Godfather this weekend," Ron said, looking a little sheepish.
"Yes, Madam Bones mentioned it yesterday, but I wanted to check with Professor McGonagall," Jasmine said, feeling a little guilty about lying.
However, she really didn't think Ron or the rest of the Gryffindor house would take her dating someone from the Slytherin house very well. And after how they had treated her, Ron and Hermione over losing house points, she had no desire to experience that again.
"Okay, see you in a bit. Come on, Ron, let's visit the library," Hermione said, dragging Ron off to what Jasmine was sure he viewed as his personal hell.
Jasmine waited until she was alone before pulling out her invisibility cloak, covering herself, and heading towards the Slytherin dorm.
Once she arrived at the entrance, Jasmine saw a group of older students standing there, looking around to ensure they were alone before speaking the password.
Jasmine just shook her head. Sure, invisibility cloaks were rare and expensive. However, Jasmine knew of a charm that would also turn you invisible, as well as charms designed to spy and listen in on people.
So them looking around was rather pointless. However, it saved her from saying the password, so Jasmine slipped through the door after them.
Unlike every other time that Jasmine had come here, the common room was full of people and Jasmine, for the first time, was worried about bumping into people.
Sticking to the edge of the room, Jasmine made her way to the girl's dorm wing and made her way to Daphne's door and opened the door and stepped inside.
"Oh, it's rude not to knock Jasmine," Daphne's voice said.
Jasmine gulped nervously, worried that she had made her Mistress angry at her, but a glance over at Daphne made Jasmine relax. There wasn't an angry expression on her face but a playful one instead.
"There were lots of people outside, and I didn't want them to hear me knocking, Mistress," Jasmine explained.
"Hmm, I guess that was for the best," Daphne said with reluctance in her voice.
"Would you like me to get changed, Mistress?" Jasmine asked.
"No, we are going back to the bath to relax," Daphne said, standing up.
Jasmine turned around as the door to Daphne's room opened up. Seeing an unknown girl entering to room, Jasmine panicked and tried to pull the invisibility cloak over herself.
"Daphne, im bored," the girl wined before she noticed Jasmine.
"Astoria, this is Jasmine. Jasmine, this is my sister Astoria," Daphne said, introducing to two girls.
"Oh, my sister has tamed a lioness?" Astoria asked, sounding amused.
Jasmine could feel herself blushing from embarrassment but smiled at the younger girl.
"It's nice to meet you, Astoria," Jasmine said.
Jasmine was surprised at how different Astoria looked to Daphne. She had long black hair instead of Daphne's silvery blond hair. Her skin was also much paler, almost to the point that it looked sickly.
The only thing they did share in common was their ice-blue eyes, and their cheekbones were similar.
"Hmm, she has done a good job taming you, hasn't she," Astoria said.
Jasmine frowned, feeling a little insulted.
"Enough, Astoria. She isn't used to being teased," Daphne said.
"Okay, okay. Nice to meet you, Jasmine," Astoria said.
"You can come to the bathhouse with us if you want," Daphne offered.
"Is it just us?" Astoria asked.
"Tracey is there as well."
A loud pop made Jasmine jump and reach for her wand, only to see a house elf standing in front of Jasmine with a box in his hands.
"Ah, thank you, Linly," Daphne said, taking the box, and the house elf vanished with a crack.
"Not used to house elves?" Astoria asked, amused.
"No, im not," Jasmine replied.
"Have you finished the book on healing magic I gave you?" Daphne asked.
"Err, yes, Mistress, but I haven't used the spells before," Jasmine said awkwardly.
"That's no problem. We can start on that soon. Bring me the book tonight. Right, let's head to the bathhouse," Daphne said, standing up.
"I will meet you there, Mistress," Jasmine said as she wrapped herself in the invisibility cloak.
"Is your sister sick?" Jasmine asked Daphne as they soaked in the hot pool together.
"She was sick a lot as a child. So she didn't spend much time outside," Daphne said sorrowfully.
"Maybe we could all go somewhere over the summer?" Jasmine suggested.
It was the first time she had ever seen Daphne looking sad. Immediately it was something that Jasmine didn't want to see again.
"Sure. Here I got you this," Daphne said, reaching over to the box that the house elf had brought her.
Opening the box, Daphne pulled out a watch. It reminded her of one of Vernon's expensive watches, which he wore when he wanted to impress people.
The face of the watch was a Gryffindor red with runes around the edge of the face of the watch with a brushed metal strap with a stripe of gold in the centre.
Daphne then pulled out another watch. Only this one had a green face, and the watch was made from some kind of black metal with a silver strip down the centre of the metal strap.
"They are linked through a variation of the Protean Charm. I can write a
message for you on my watch, and it will appear on yours," Daphne explained.
"That's a really cool charm," Jasmine said as she thought of how it could be used instead of owls to talk to people over the summer.
"May I have your wrist?" Daphne asked in a husky voice.
Jasmine smiled as she offered her wrist to Daphne. Daphne slipped the watch on and clipped the clasp in place, and the band tightened till it fit snugly around Jasmine's wrist.
"It looks a bit large on my wrist," Jasmine said as she inspected the watch.
"It does now, but it will be fine in a year or two," Daphne said as she put her own watch on.
Daphne tapped her watch with her wand, and then a moment later, Jasmine felt her watch grow warm. Looking down at the watch, the runes around the watch's edge had turned into English.
Jasmine blushed as she saw the message but slid over next to Daphne and straddled her lap.
"Won't other people be able to see what is on the watches, Mistress?" Jasmine asked.
"Hmm, no, there is a notice me not charm on them. That should stop most people from noticing it unless you draw people's attention to it," Daphne explained.
Daphne's hands ran up the side of her body before Daphne looked her up and down and frowned.
"Is there something wrong, Mistress," Jasmine asked nervously.
"You aren't on some silly diet, are you?" Daphne asked.
"No, Mistress," Jasmine said.
"I will have some nutrient potions delivered to you," Daphne said.
"Thank you, Mistress," Jasmine said with a faint smile.
Her body was a sore point for Jasmine when she compared it to every other girl in the 2nd year. She was far skinnier than anyone else as well as shorter. But the place that out could really tell was around her ribs and wrists.
She hated that her ribs were so visible, especially when that wasn't the case for any of the other girls in the dorm. She was sure that it was due to a lack of food for the first decade of her life.
For example, she had spent one day mowing the front and back gardens and then weeding both gardens before trimming the large hedges. Overall, it took her over 5 hours of work in the hot sun, and all she got to eat that day was four slices of bread and a small block of cheese.
"You're welcome. Would you like to get out and dry off?" Daphne asked.
"Yes, Mistress, we can't have you turning into a prune after all, Mistress," Jasmine said, standing up.
Jasmine saw Daphne's eyes narrow dangerously, and she quickly jumped out of the hot water pool.
"You should be careful rude submissives get spanked," Daphne warned as she got out of the pool.
"Understood, Mistress," Jasmine said submissively.
"Good, now let's relax with you going to meet your godfather. I won't be able to see you for the next few days," Daphne said, sounding disappointed.
"I could spend tonight and tomorrow in your bed Mistress," Jasmine suggested.
"I wish you could, but you have spent most of the last month in my bed im sure people in your dorm have noticed," Daphne replied as she sat down on a sun lounger.
Jasmine wanted to say that wasn't the case, but she was sure that Hermione had noticed that she hadn't spent any of the nights there. And she doubted that everyone else didn't notice that for the past month, she had woken up and got dressed before them.
"I guess, Mistress," Jasmine said with a disappointed sigh.
"Are you okay, Miss Potter?" Professor McGonagall asked as they made their way towards the headmaster's office.
"Im a little nervous," Jasmine said honestly.
"That's natural but don't worry, Sirius is way more nervous than you. Something I didn't think I would ever see from him," Professor McGonagall said.
"Sherbet Lemons," Professor McGonagall said to the gargoyle statue that slowly raised, forming a staircase.
They stepped off the stone staircase at the top, and Professor McGonagall rapped on the door. It opened silently, and they entered.
The office looked the same as it had the last time she was here, only this time, it seemed that many of the portraits were awake, with one of them looking very angry as the others watched on.
In the centre of the room was a large golden stand, and a regal red and golden bird was perched.
Dumbledore sat behind the large desk, and next to him was a man.
He was a tall man with long thin black hair and grey eyes. His face was etched with pain and stress. His skin had a slightly waxy look to it. He looked far older than the 30-odd years old he was. He stood there looking at her with a nervous look on his face.
Jasmine couldn't help but feel awkward as everyone stood in the room.
"It's nice to see you again, Sirius," Professor McGonagall said kindly.
"Nice to see you again, Minnie," Sirius said, his voice hoarse.
"This is Jasmine," Professor McGonagall said, drawing attention back to Jasmine.
"I know she has Lily's eyes," Sirius said nostalgically.
"It's nice to meet you, Sirius," Jasmine said.
"Sorry, it took so long. I got lost on my way here," Sirius joked.
"Well, we will leave you two to it," Dumbledore said, standing up from his desk.
"I shall see you tomorrow night, Jasmine," Professor McGonagall said before she left the room with Dumbledore.
"Shall we get out of here then?" Sirius asked, sounding unsure.
"Sure, how are we leaving?" Jasmine asked.
Sirius walked over to the fireplace, picked up a handful of floo powder, and threw it into the flames. "You know how to use the Floo?" Sirius asked.
"Yes," Jasmine said, grabbing her handful of Floo powder.
"Good, we are going to 12 Grimmauld Place," Sirius said as he threw the Floo powder into the fire, stepped inside, and vanished with fwoom.
Jasmine waited for the green fire to die down and turn back into the normal orange fire before she threw her own Floo powder into the fire.
"12 Grimmauld Place," Jasmine said before stepping into the fire.
Jasmine closed her eyes as a roaring filled her eyes, and she could feel herself spinning and falling unto she was shot out the other side. Jasmine stumbled before she was caught by a pair of arms.
"James was never very good with the Floo either," Sirius said as he made sure she was okay before letting go.
"This is your house?" Jasmine asked as she looked around the dark, gloomy room.
"No, this is where I grew up. My flat is still being re-decorated and isn't connected to the Floo," Sirius said.
"You grew up here?" Jasmine asked, surprised she expected based on the amount of money the Blacks had to have lived in a mansion or castle.
"Don't remind me. Let's leave before my mother portrait wakes up," Sirius said, leading her towards the front door.
Stepping outside, Jasmine was surprised to see that it was a very normal London street.
"Right, you want to get something to eat?" Sirius asked.
"Sure," Jasmine said.
"Well, I think there is a fast food place not far away," Sirius said.
"Could you tell me about my parents as we walk?" Jasmine asked.
"Hmm, well, I met your dad on the platform. We also met Lupin and Peter on the platform as well. We just instantly clicked."
"What about Mom?" Jasmine asked.
Sirius let out a laugh. "We didn't get along until much later in our school lives. We were pranksters for the first 5 years. However, for you, Dad, it was love at first sight," Sirius said.
"Really love at first sight?" Jasmine asked, surprised.
"Yes, well, for James, at least. You would be lucky to go more than 2 days without him fawning over Lily," Sirius said.
"Is McDonald's okay?" Sirius asked.
"Sure, I haven't had McDonald's before," Jasmine said.
Jasmine sawn Sirius frown, but thankfully, he didn't ask about what she had said.
"So, what is your favourite class at school?" Sirius asked.
"I don't really have one. I always do best in DADA, getting an outstanding last year and Exceeds Expectations in Care of Magical Creatures, Charms, Herbology, Potions and Transfiguration,"
"Not bad. Lily would be proud," Sirius said approvingly.
"What about you, Dad and Mom?" Jasmine asked.
"Me and James were always top in Transfiguration and DADA. In fact, most Potters are very good at Transfiguration, DADA and Potions. As for Lily, she was best in Charms and Potions," Sirius said.
"Im lucky to get Exceeds Expectations in Potions," Jasmine said as they sat down at the table with their food.
"You don't have to be excellent at all of them, but Charms, Transfiguration and DADA are the three main branches of magic. As long as you are good at them, you will be fine. After all, most people buy potions instead of brewing them."
"Yes, if possible, I would like to drop Potions after my OWLs. It's not like I will be making advanced potions after I leave Hogwarts," Jasmine grumbled.
"You can have a 3rd party teacher for NEWT classes if you want," Sirius suggested.
"I will see after my OWLs," Jasmine said as she ate her fries.
"IS it possible to change out money for pounds?" Jasmine asked, keeping it vague in case someone overheard.
"Yes, we can go to Gringotts to do so why?" Sirius asked.
"I need some more clothes. I have gone through a growth sprout," Jasmine said.
"Ah, yes, I remember that. There are some stores in Diagon Alley you can shop at. That way, you can avoid the fee for exchanging money," advised Sirius.
Jasmine wasn't surprised that there was a fee given when she took money out at Hogsmeade she was charged a fee.
"Then let's go after this. I didn't have anything planned for the rest of today," Sirius said.
"Not today?" Jasmine asked.
"I have some things planned out for tomorrow, but I didn't want to rush you into anything," Sirius said.
"I guess it is lucky that I need some clothes then," Jasmine said as she finished her food.
"Then let's got out of here," Sirius said, picking up the tray.
"Are we close to Diagon Ally?"
"No, but we can apparate there," Sirius said, smirking.
"Apparating? I think Ron mentioned it, but he didn't really say how it worked," Jasmine said as she followed Sirius out of the restaurant.
"Well, let's find somewhere that people won't notice us," Sirius said, looking around.
It wasn't long before they had found a side path that they could go down so that Sirius could apparate them to Diagon Ally.
"Ready?" Sirius asked as he held out his hand for Jasmine to hold.
"Sure, I guess," Jasmine said, taking it, unsure of what to expect.
Sirius smirked before twisting, and Jasmine felt like she was being crushed and squeezed through a straw.
And then fresh air that Jasmine hungry gasped as she fell to the floor.
"First time is always the worst," Sirius said, sounding amused.
"That has to be the worst form of magical transport I have ever endured," Jasmine said.
"No, it's the worst so far. Wait till you apparate to a different country or take a portkey. Then you will know how bad magical travel can be. Right to Gringotts," Sirius said, helping Jasmine back to her feet.
After leaving Gringotts, Jasmine led Sirius to the shop that she had bought clothes from before the end of summer.
"Do you need some clothes?" Jasmine asked.
"No, I bought some once I was released from Azkaban in some nice muggle stores," Sirius said as they entered the store.
"Oh, im surprised to see you so soon," Sara said, walking over.
"Ah, I had a growth spurt," Jasmine said.
"Would you like to be remeasured?" Sara asked.
"Yes, please," Jasmine said.
"Right this way," Sara said, leading her to the changing rooms.
Jasmine was glad that she hadn't worn the Slyterhin underwear. She couldn't imagine how embarrassed she would be if Sara saw her in that. Thankfully it took Sara only a little while to get all of her measurements.
"Hmm, grown a few inches and have gone up an entire cup size to a B cup," Sara said as she handed her new measurements to Jasmine.
"We offer a growing charm on clothes. You should think about getting it applied. You will grow much faster for the next two years, maybe three," Sara advised.
"Ya, I realised that pretty quickly," Jasmine said awkwardly as they left the changing room.
"Right, I will leave you to pick some clothes. Call me over if you need any help," Sara said.
"Will do, thank you," Jasmine said gratefully.
Jasmine looked around the store, trying to find Sirius before noticing him chatting up an older store assistant. Jasmine smirked and went about picking several pairs of jeans and some skirts.
After grabbing several pairs, she moved out on to pick out shirts and some jackets. She thought about buying new underwear but was too embarrassed to do so with Sirius.
Maybe she could make a date out of it with Daphne and model them for her?
With all her clothes picked out, Jasmine walked up to the counter.
"Is that everything?" Sara asked.
"Yes, can I get them charmed?" Jasmine asked.
"Of course, it will take an hour to do so," Sara said.
"That's fine. We will have dinner at the Leaky Cauldron," Sirius said, walking up.
"You sure?" Jasmine asked.
"Yes, you really don't want to taste my cooking," Sirius said jokingly.
"Yes can I get them with the charm applied," Jasmine asked.
"Sure, come back in an hour, and they will be ready for you. The total is 97 Galleons as 7 Sickles," Sara said.
Jasmine was surprised at the amount but counted it out and handed it over to Sara, who gave Jasmine a receipt.
"Morning," Sirius greeted her as she walked into the kitchen.
"Im guessing we are going out for breakfast?" Jasmine asked.
"I would recommend going out unless you want toast," Sirius said.
"Leaky Cauldron, then?" Jasmine guessed.
"Ya, we have a few hours," Sirius teased.
"Im not going to ask. You won't tell me," Jasmine said, rolling her eyes.
"Okay, let's get breakfast," Sirius said.
"We taking the Floo, right?" Jasmine asked, not wanting to have to deal with apparition again anytime soon.
"Sure, we will take the Floo," Sirius said.
Jasmine looked around the Leaky Cauldron as they ate dinner. It was surprisingly quiet, or maybe it was usually like this, and she only saw it busy as she came here at the start of the school year.
"So, have you ever been bowling?" Sirius asked.
Jasmine was surprised at the question. "No, I have never been before," Jasmine said, remembering how the Dursleys went every Christmas after locking her under the stairs.
"Well, it looks like I get to teach you then today," Sirius said happily as he stood up from the table.
"Cool, let's go," Jasmine said, standing up.
Jasmine looked around as they entered the bowling alley. Jasmine was surprised to find that there was a large arcade in the bowling alley. After exchanging their shoes for bowling shoes, Sirius and Jasmine walked to their alley.
"I will put the barriers up for you," Sirius said as he started setting up the bowling alley.
"Right, so the number on the balls is for how heavy they are. Find one that is heavy but not so heavy that you struggle to lift it," Sirius said.
Jasmine walked over to the rack and started picking up bowling balls until she found one that was a good weight.
"Right, let me demonstrate, then you can try," Sirius said.
Jasmine watched as Sirius stepped forward on the glossy bowling lane, his fingers gripping the ball securely. Sirius took several smooth steps forward as his arm came back in a fluid motion. As he reached the edge of the alley, his arm extended, and the ball gracefully released from his hand.
The ball hurtled down the lane with increasing momentum. Jasmine watched as the bowling ball seemed to be guided by magic as it curved slightly before, with a resounding thud, and the bowling ball collided with the pins.
Many of the pins toppled over immediately, while others teetered precariously, refusing to fall over. Eventually, the remaining pins stopped swaying as the ball rolled into the back of the lane.
"Im a little rusty, it seems," Sirius said, turning around to look at Jasmine.
"You got most of them," Jasmine pointed out.
"Most, but the aim is to get them all in a single throw," Sirius reminded her.
Sirius picked up another bowling ball and bowled it again, knocking down the rest of the pins at the end of the lane, which was then reset for the next player. Two metal barriers popped up on each side of the lane.
"Your try now," Sirius said.
Jasmine stepped onto the bowling lane and a hint of uncertainty on her features. Sirius had made it look very easy.
Gripping the bowling ball tightly, she took a hesitant step forward, her body lacking the confident stride of a seasoned bowler.
With a less-than-fluid motion, Jasmine swung her arm back before she swung it forward. The release was far from graceful, and the bowling ball sped down the lane.
The lack of precision and skill was evident as the ball crashed into the barriers back and forth like a pinball. As the ball neared the cluster of pins, it collided with a lacklustre thud, lacking the impact needed to scatter them effectively.
A few of the pins fell over. But most didn't even sway before they were picked up, and the knocked-down pins and the bowling ball were cleared up.
"Well, err, that could have been better, I guess," Jasmine said.
"It was no worse than when Lily first took me and James," Sirius said.
"You did the same thing we did, and that went for power and speed. What you need is the technique first, then the speed will come," Sirius said.
Jasmine nodded as she picked up another bowling ball and stepped up to the lane. Taking her time this time, she brought her arm back and swung it forward.
The ball left her hand and rolled down the lane without hitting any of the barriers and knocking over half of the remaining pins.
"Much better," Sirius said encouragingly.
