"Very well. Then let's start the operation to win the heart of a girl who hates humanity and wants affection… that's what I want to say but I want to talk to Kiana-chan in private before that," Eve said as she turned to Kiana.
"Eh? Me?" Kiana said confused while pointing at herself.
"Yup, follow me," Eve said as she stood up from her seat, then she floated and flew towards a corridor that was at the back of the theater.
Kiana could only stare at the direction where Eve disappeared, actually she wanted to ask what Eve was going to talk about but she didn't have time to ask because Eve had already left.
Thinking it was pointless for her to stay silent, she decided to follow Eve. After talking to everyone, Kiana floated up and flew towards the corridor Eve entered.
Arriving at the corridor, Kiana saw Eve standing in front of a door as if she was waiting for her. Eve smiled after seeing Kiana, then she entered the room and motioned for Kiana to follow her.
Kiana entered the room and saw that the room was very wide like a royal ballroom. Eve sat on a sofa and Kiana sat on the sofa in front of her.
"So what did you want to talk to me about?" Ask Kiana.
"It's about your 'twin sister,'" Eve said.
Kiana of course was surprised to hear that because to the best of her knowledge she has no twin sister, she is just a clone born from a tube or was Eve hinting at another clone? Are the others still alive?
"No, that's not it. There is one person," Kiana thought in surprise. She quickly pushed aside the thoughts of the other clones as she realized who the 'twin sister' Eve was referring to was.
"You mean… Herrscher of Void…?" Kiana asked with widened eyes. Yes, she was the only other one she could think of. She is the one who closest to her soul.
"Yes, I was thinking about inviting her too," Eve said, nodding.
"Are you sure? This is different from Sirin's case, she really inherited Sirin's hatred completely," said Kiana feeling unsure.
"Indeed, but you reached out to her at the last moment didn't you?"
"I won't mention 'reaching out' to her, in the end she still expects the worst for me," Kiana said with a bitter smile.
"Fu fu, she's just shy about expressing her true feelings," Eve said with a giggle, "You wanted to see her again anyway, didn't you? You want her to see what you have accomplished so far."
Kiana was silent for a moment before she sighed, "I can't hide anything from you, can I?" Kiana said while rubbing her head.
"I'm an Overseer after all," Eve said with a smile.
Kiana leaned against the couch and looked up at the ceiling, "You're right, I want to see her again. Just like Himeko-sensei, I want her to see how I've progressed so far. I want to hear how she thinks of my progress."
Eve smiled at Kiana's words, "Hey come out, you've heard her wish, right? Wouldn't it be better to grant her wish?"
Kiana tilted her head in confusion, she didn't know who Eve was talking to.
"If you don't want to then I'll drag you out," Eve said again.
Right after that, Kiana felt a shiver go through her body and then next to her appeared someone, someone she thought she would never meet again.
"Hmph. Your authority sure is troublesome," Herrscher of Void said to Eve with a displeased look.
Kiana was silent and widened her eyes to see her other self, she didn't expect to see her in this room.
"Fu fu, can you blame me? She looks like she really misses you," Eve said with amusement.
"Hah? What are you saying, there's no way she-"
HoV couldn't finish her words when she was immediately hugged by Kiana.
"Hey, what are you-"
"I…"
"Hah!?"
"I'm so happy..." Kiana said in a trembling voice.
At that moment HoV finally realized that Kiana's body that was hugging her was shaking and she could hear small sobs beside her. HoV didn't need to think hard about how Kiana was feeling right now because they were connected to each other, she could clearly feel Kiana's feelings.
It is longing.
HoV's expression softened, she stiffly moved her hand to return Kiana's hug.
"Geez, you've gotten maudlin since we last met," said the HoV with a sigh.
The two of them hugged for a few moments while Eve stared at the adorable sight with her big smile.
"Fu fu, now you two look like real sisters," Eve said with amusement.
"Hah!?" Hov flinched and immediately let go of her arms, "It's not-"
"I love it," Kiana said brightly as she hugged the HoV's arm.
"Hah!? What do you mean?" HoV asked with a frown.
"Twin sisters. I love it," said Kiana with a smile.
HoV winced at that smile because it was too sincere and dazzling.
"I don't-"
"Don't you like it?" Kiana asked sadly.
"Ugh…" HoV groaned, for some reason her heart ached seeing Kiana's sad face.
"What's with this girl!? Why is she so spoiled now? Is this one way to get my attention? And stop that rotten grin of yours, bitch!" HoV was screaming all of that inside her head while growling at Eve.
HoV was grumbling at the current situation, but there was nothing she could do now. She sighed in annoyance and relented.
"Fine, whatever you want."
"Really!? YATTAAAAAA!" shouted Kiana happily while hugging the HoV arm tighter. HoV herself has resigned herself to her 'sister' cheerful behavior.
"Why did I get into this situation," HoV muttered in a low voice.
"By the way, why are you here? The last time we met you were gone," Kiana asked.
"I'm not completely gone, there's still about one percent of me inside of you."
"I see, thank goodness."
"Hmph." HoV crossed her arms as she turned her head the other way.
Eve never let go of her smile while watching that adorable scene, she was very happy to see the progress of the two of them. But as much as it was fun, it was time for her to get into the next matter.
"Okay, I'm glad you two have reconciled. Now let's move on to our master plan," Eve said catching the girls' attention, "HoV, I think you already know… wait, it's not fun calling you HoV. Do we have to give you a name?"
"Whatever, I don't care about that," said HoV, crossing her legs.
"I agree with Eve, we should give you a name," said Kiana.
"Well, then you can give her a name, Kiana-chan," said Eve.
"Hmm… how about Kiana? Just like Seele and her other self?"
"I think so too, but we better find another name. If HoV uses that name, then there will be three people named Kiana in the room including you who is from 2016. Plus we also have little Bianka whose name is still Kiana. So a total of four people with the same name, it must be really confusing. I suggest finding another name."
"I see, all right," said Kiana, she then crossed her arms and closed her eyes while thinking, "HoV… HoV.. HoV is also Sirin. Sirin is a good name… Sirin… Sir…Cel… Celine!?"
Kiana opened her eyes and immediately shouted excitedly, "How about Celine!?"
"Hm~ Nice name. But it is HoV's decision to accept it or not," Eve said.
The two of them then turned to the person concerned, HoV herself was contemplating the name Kiana had given her.
"Celine, huh. Well, I don't mind," said HoV, or Celine now.
"It has been decided, from now on your name will be Celine Kaslana," Kiana announced.
"What!? Oi, I never agreed to enter that stupid family!" Celine shouted.
"Very good, Kiana-chan. Now let's go back to our main plan, please use the microphone to call your father and sister here," Eve said, ignoring Celine's screams.
"This one?" Kiana asked while pointing at a microphone in the corner of the room.
"Yup."
"Oi listen to me!" Celine shouted but the two girls were too busy with their own business.
She was ignored.
"Helloooo, it's me Kiana. Papa and Onee-chan, can you two come over here? Just go up the corridor above and enter the door there," said Kiana, who was using a microphone.
Satisfied with the message she conveyed, Kiana turned around and saw Celine who was scowling at her while crossing her arms.
"Hmm? What's wrong, Celine?" Ask Kiana.
"Hmph. Nothing," Celine said while looking away.
Kiana tilted her head in confusion while Eve giggled at the behavior of the two of them.
Soon the door opened and Siegfried entered with Bianka following behind, after looking around the room they were surprised by the unexpected presence of Celine.
Before there was a misunderstanding, Kiana quickly approached Celine, "Papa, Onee-chan..." Kiana said as she pulled Celine's arm into her arms, "She is my twin sister, Celine Kaslana."
There was silence after the announcement. Kiana with a big smile hugged her sister's arm, Bianka looked at her little sister with a confused look, Celine tried to avoid Siegfried's gaze, and Siegfried looked at Celine with a complicated expression because he remembered a painful past.
"You remember her, don't you, Siegfried?" Eve asked amidst the silence.
"Yeah," answered Siegfried briefly.
Kiana's smile was replaced with confusion as she looked between her father and Celine, she didn't know that the two of them had known each other before.
"I saw her before, the day I was forced to leave Kiana alone in the middle of a field of snow and fire," said Siegfried bitterly while looking at Celine.
Kiana froze. She still vividly remembers the day her father left her, she doesn't remember what happened at that time but what she knows is that she made a mess and hurt her father. Now she realizes that the incident was caused by Celine and was her first meeting with her father.
Celine herself looked away with an uncomfortable expression, she was aware that the destruction she had caused would not be easily forgiven by the people she injured. But there's nothing she can do now, she can't even survive without Kiana now and she can't use her power anymore. Therefore she had prepared herself for whatever this man in front of her would do.
Siegfried walked towards Celine with unreadable eyes, Kiana looked back and forth between her father and Celine anxiously at what was happening.
Siegfried stopped in front of Celine, he was still speechless. Celine could only watch the man carefully, preparing herself for the imminent punishment.
But what she didn't expect was… Siegfried smiled.
"But it's okay."
"Hah!?"
Celine was so stunned by what she heard that she didn't realize Siegfried had put his hand on her head, giving her a soft pat.
"As a father, it's only natural to forgive his naughty daughter, right?" said Siegfried with a smile.
"What do you mean!? And since when did I become your daughter?" she snapped.
"Hmm? You're Kiana's sister, right? Then you are also my daughter," Siegfried said with a grin before lifting his hand from Celine's head, then he walked past her and headed towards Eve, "Oi Eve, how about we start now? There is still one more daughter of mine who needs to be saved."
"Oh, sure~" Eve replied amused.
"Hm Hm~ . As expected of Papa," said Kiana nodding in satisfaction from next to Celine, then she also walked after her father.
"Fu fu."
Celine heard a chuckle beside her and saw Bianka smiling beside her.
"Nice to meet you, Celine. I'm happy to have another little sister," said Bianka before she left to catch up with Kiana and Siegfried.
Celine was speechless during the process, her mind was struggling to process everything that had just happened and when she finished, she gritted her teeth.
"I knew it… this family is full of STUPID people!"
She had a dream.
Keep dreaming.
Ever since her death, she had felt her body had been floating in the void and since then she had been dreaming constantly. Always the same dream.
A dream where she was just an ordinary girl.
The dream where she was with that white-haired woman, the woman who gave her warmth in a hug.
Rather than a dream, it is more accurately described as a wish.
A wish so strong that she kept dreaming about it.
Then one day, a warmth hit her. All her senses came back and forced her to wake up from her sleep.
She complied.
After a long time, Sirin opened her eyes and woke up from her long sleep.
The first thing Sirin did after opening her eyes was to squint her eyes because the amount of light coming in made her eyes hurt, she raised her hand in front of her eyes to reduce the amount of light coming in.
After a few moments she managed to get her eyes used to the light, then she started to check what was going on.
She looked around her and realized that she was now standing in a large room. The room was filled with luxurious items that she could not imagine.
"Where am I?" muttered Sirin in confusion. She had no idea how she got to this room.
"Yo."
Sirin froze when she heard a voice, she turned to the source and saw a man standing in front of her.
The man had white hair and blue eyes, an unkempt face, and had a mechanical arm on his left.
Somehow Sirin felt familiar with that man. No, more precisely she knew the man. That man is Siegfried Kaslana, the one who gave her the fear in their last meeting. Sirin flinched as she recalled the memories.
"Y-You!?" Sirin stammered. She reflexively looked at the hand that the man had cut off, oh it was still there. But that didn't calm her down at all, she tried to expend her power to attack the man.
"…"
Nothing happens.
Sirin panic. Why? Why isn't her power coming out? Sirin could still feel the power of The Void within her but she couldn't get it out. It gave her such a fright.
"Hey…" said Siegfried trying to get closer when he saw Sirin panicking.
"D-Don't come any closer- kya!" Sirin fell and landed on her butt when she saw Siegfried approaching, but that didn't stop her dragging her body away from the man, "Go away! Get away from me!"
Sirin's body trembled, bad memories from the past began to attack her. When her mother died, when she was tortured in the laboratory, when her friends died one by one, and many other bad memories.
In her panic, suddenly a hand reached out and hugged her from behind, a warm hug that reminded her of Cecilia. She turned her head and saw a white-haired girl, for a moment she thought it was Cecilia but it wasn't, the girl was younger than Cecilia.
The effect was immediate, her fear disappeared and her tremors began to subside, the bad memories no longer attacked her. Somehow she felt comfortable being close to the girl.
"Mou, papa. What are you doing? Scared her like that," Kiana said sullenly at Siegfried while hugging Sirin.
"That… sorry," said Siegfried stopping closer. He looked at the girl in Kiana's arms, Sirin seemed to be enjoying and feeling comfortable in that position. Siegfried's expression softened at the sight, but then hardened when he recalled the root cause.
"She's just a kid!" Siegfried growled inside. His anger increased when he saw what Otto had done to Sirin, the traumatic experience she had gone through must have left a deep mark on her heart.
Siegfried clenched his fists tightly in anger, his desire to beat up Otto was so strong it made him tremble but he quickly threw away that desire since Otto was no longer there. He inhaled and took a deep breath to calm himself down.
He then looked at Sirin, his desire to help the girl was much stronger now after seeing her in person.
"Sirin," said Siegfried in a firm voice.
Sirin flinched when Siegfried called out to her, but she didn't run this time instead she held Kiana's hand who was hugging her tightly for support. She looked at Siegfried and to her surprise, the man fell to his knees.
"I'm sorry," said Siegfried bowing his head.
"Eh?"
"I'm sorry I scared you, I'm sorry for what I did to you. I had absolutely no intention of doing that but I had to, I just wanted to protect my wife Cecilia and the people I care about. And I'm sorry for what happened to you, if only I knew what they have done to you I would definitely stop it all."
Silence fell after hearing Siegfried's lengthy apology. Kiana slowly released her hug from Sirin because the girl didn't need it anymore, Sirin then straightened her body with an unreadable expression.
"That woman…"
"Hm?"
"That woman… Cecilia. How is she?"
"That…" Siegfried's expression became sad as he remembered Cecilia, but he still answered her question, "Cecilia is dead. Until her last moment, she decided to accompany you."
Sirin's expression crumpled and she bit her lip when she heard that, she already knew that Cecilia was dead but she asked it anyway while hoping that everything she knew was just a dream.
But the truth is not, Cecilia is dead.
The woman who has given her warmth and comfort.
The woman who had embraced her and dispelled her fears.
The woman who had thought of herself as her own daughter.
The woman who accompanies her in solitude accepts death.
Now that woman is gone forever.
Sirin's heart ached when she accepted that fact, it was the same as when her mother died. But this time it was more painful because Cecilia had sacrificed herself to give Sirin the love of a mother in her last moments of life.
This is all her fault.
If only she had never sent Cecilia to that dream world.
If only they had never met.
If only she had never started a war.
If only she had never been hostile to humanity.
If only she had never had Herrscher's powers.
.
.
.
If only she had never existed.
Cecilia was definitely still alive today.
Tears began to flow down Sirin's cheeks, once again someone who loved her had left because of herself. Is she cursed? Will she never get affection from others?
Sirin's body trembled while tears continued to flow from the intense guilt. She never wanted a fate like this.
"I'm sorry…" she said as she sobbed.
Everyone in the room didn't know who Sirin was apologizing to, but it didn't matter to Siegfried when he saw the girl crying in front of him. For now he will do what he should.
He approached Sirin and pulled the girl into his arms.
"It's okay, no one blames you," Siegfried said softly as he rubbed Sirin's back.
"B-But… it was my fault… she died…" said Sirin sobbing.
"No. It's not your fault," said Siegfried firmly making Sirin look at him in surprise, "It's not your fault Cecilia died. If anyone is to be blamed then it is the people who have made you suffer, it is they who made you go through that horrible experience."
Siegfried wiped Sirin's tears away and looked at her smiling, "So it wasn't your fault, you were just a victim of those people's selfishness. Now stop crying, Cecilia will definitely be sad if she finds you crying and blaming yourself like this."
"You're... not angry?" asked Sirin while avoiding eye contact with Siegfried.
"At first, yes, I was angry because you hurt the people I care about. But after knowing all the truth about you and how Cecilia sacrificed herself, I don't think I have the right to be mad at you. We are both victims here," said Siegfried with a smile.
"After all how can a father be angry at his daughter? What kind of father am I then," added Siegfried.
Sirin stared at Siegfried wide-eyed, she couldn't believe what she was hearing, "W-What are you saying?"
"Is that surprising? Cecilia has thought of you as her own daughter, so it shouldn't be strange for me to think of you as my daughter too, right?"
Sirin's body trembled as Siegfried spoke, every word the man uttered went straight into her and warmed her heart. She didn't know why but she knew what she was feeling right now was happiness.
The happiness of being accepted by someone.
Just as Cecilia accepted her, Siegfried did the same.
"After all we already have a parent and child relationship in that dream world, how about we continue in the real world this time?" Siegfried asked with a smile.
Sirin wiped away her tears and nodded while smiling happily, she then threw herself to hug Siegfried, "Hn, I like that."
"Ah ha ha ha." Siegfried could only laugh when the girl hugged him, he then hugged her back.
They both hugged each other for a while. The other occupants of the room except for Celine smiled at the sight and had no intention of disturbing them.
It wasn't long before they parted ways even though Sirin looked a little reluctant, that's when Eve approached them with a smile.
"Hello Sirin, nice to meet you," Eve said softly.
Sirin stared confusedly at this person she had never met, "Who?" she asked.
Eve chuckled before replying, "My name is Eve and I'm the one who brought you back to life."
Sirin's eyes widened and she looked at Eve intently "A-Are you a god?"
Eve blinked her eyes for a moment and then she remembered that Sirin also considered the Will of Honkai to be a God. Maybe Sirin considers people who have extraordinary abilities as gods.
Eve smiled amused at the little girl's thought before replying, "Many thought of me that way before, but I'm not a god."
"I see," said Sirin lowering her head slightly before she looked back at Eve, "thanks for helping me."
"No need to thank me. Instead, how about we introduce you to your sister?" said Eve, looking at Siegfried.
Siegfried was confused for a moment but then he understood what Eve meant, "Ah that's right," he said as he stood up.
Siegfried then placed his hand on Bianka's shoulder "Sirin, introduce her is my eldest daughter. Bianka Ataegina-"
"Kaslana," interrupted Bianka, "Bianka Ataegina Kaslana."
Siegfried's eyes widened for a moment before he smiled, "Yes, Bianka Ataegina Kaslana. She is also known as 'Durandal' by most people."
Siegfried then turned to Kiana and Celine, "And those two are Kiana and Celine Kaslana. My twin daughters."
Kiana waved with a smile at Sirin while Celine crossed her arms with a snort when Siegfried touched her shoulder, but she gave Sirin a nod in acknowledgement.
Sirin watched the people she introduced one by one, starting from Bianka then Kiana and Celine. Her attention was mostly on the twins, for some reason she felt a bond between herself and them.
But Sirin put the matter aside for now because she realized something important.
"Oi, why do you have more children than before?" asked Sirin while looking suspiciously at Siegfried.
Yes, this is what bothers Sirin. As far as she knows, Siegfried and Cecilia only have one child, namely Kiana Kaslana. Now somehow Siegfried has two more children even though Cecilia had died a long time ago. Sirin couldn't help being suspicious of Siegfried.
Meanwhile the occupants of the room froze. Siegfried fell silent before his face turned pale as he understood Sirin's suspicions. Eve's eyes widened for a moment before she put a hand to her mouth to suppress a laugh.
Siegfried's silence convinced Sirin of her suspicions.
"As I expected, you're cheating! You pervert, you can't be trusted!" shouted Sirin while glaring at Siegfried.
"N-No, you misunderstood Sirin. I didn't do that at all," said Siegfried who panicked trying to explain.
"I don't believe you! Get away from me, you pervert!"
"Pfft…"
Everyone immediately turned towards Eve who was currently trying hard to hold back her laughter, but in the end she failed.
"Pfft HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! I can't take it anymore, this is too funny," said Eve who was holding her stomach from laughing.
Siegfried's brows twitched seeing Eve laugh, "Hey Eve, is this really funny to you? My life is in a precarious state right now."
"Sorry, sorry," Eve said with a giggle, then she turned to Sirin, "You can trust him Sirin, this man would never look at another woman. He is loyal to Cecilia."
"I'm still confused," said Sirin frowning.
"I will explain…"
After that Eve started to tell everything to Sirin. From Bianka's real identity to the truth about Kiana and Celine.
Sirin listened intently and pondered Eve's words, mostly she understood what she was saying.
"I see, so the two of them…"
"Yes, they are clones born from your DNA and Bianka's DNA. Otto created a clone experiment whose aim was to create humans who could use Herrscher's powers," explained Eve.
"Otto... so he was the one who allowed the experiments in the laboratory," said Sirin in a piercing tone.
"Yeah, the biggest asshole I've ever known. Throughout his life he had made many people suffer and he never cared about that. I thanked him for bringing Kiana to life but I would still beat him up if I ever met him. Too bad he's dead now," Siegfried grumbled.
Sirin didn't know how she felt hearing the news, she was very angry at Otto but the person who was the source of her anger was already dead. She felt empty now.
"Well, there's no use dwelling on the past, is there? What's important now is that you all have each other's happiness," Eve said, smiling at Sirin.
"Yeah, you're right," said Siegfried with a small smile.
"Ah, does that mean I have a younger sister now?" Kiana said excitedly.
"Hmm? What did you say? Sirin was born before you, of course she will be your big sister," said Siegfried raising his eyebrows.
"Then she should be my big sister too?" Ask Bianca.
"That…"
"Hmph, you idiot. Eve says she hasn't aged since her death, she should be around 12 or 13 now. How could she be an older sister?" said Celine with a snort.
Instead of being insulted by Celine's ridicule, Kiana and the others fell silent and looked at Celine in surprise.
"W-What?" Celine asked who felt uncomfortable under their gazes.
"Aw Celine, you're in on the family discussion? I'm so happy," Kiana said cheerfully.
"Wha-!? S-Shut up!"
"Ha ha ha ha, don't be shy."
"Fu fu fu…"
Kiana teased Celine while laughing, Celine turned her attention away from Kiana, Bianka could only giggle at her twin sister's behavior, and Siegfried smiled affectionately at his daughters' conversation.
Sirin watched the Kaslana family with an emotional look. Eve was right, there was no use thinking about Otto or anything that hurt her. That's all in the past.
She has a family now.
A real family that really accepts her.
Unknowingly, tears once again streamed down Sirin's cheeks. But they weren't tears of sorrow nor were they painful tears like she had felt in the past.
Those are tears of joy.
For the first time in a long time, Sirin finally got the happiness she wanted.
WHERE IS THE REACTION!? I guess that's what you guys want to say after reading this chapter.
I apologize. I thought I could finish everything in this chapter but I didn't, the problem with Sirin was longer than I expected. So I have to split it and finish it in the next chapter.
And for the name HoV, I read from Wiki that there are many translations for the name Sirin from Chinese, such as Celine, Selene, and Seline. So I took Celine because I prefer that name.
That's all I want to say, there's still one more prologue chapter before getting into the reactions.
Sorry if there are mistakes in words, repeated words, or language errors during writing.
See you next time.
