As the sun rose the full Borden house was bustling. Ty and Amy had gotten up early and were getting breakfast ready for the kids. Amy heard a knock and was surprised when Maryanne and the PM were at the door. "Good morning you guys, we didn't think you would be here this early." Amy smiled as she hugged Maryanne. Justin spoke first, "Well we figured that you would use some help so here we are." Ty laughed, "Ok you are with me, we'll let the ladies do their thing," As Amy and Maryanne set up the table and cut up fruit. Maryanne yawned and blushed at the same time. Amy whispered, "Are you Ok you looked tired." She blushed even more, "Well it seemed the country is good in a lot of ways, we had a great night last night when we got to Fairfield." Understanding what she meant she frowned hugging her, "I know what you mean about that, but with a houseful of kids our fun was limited." Giggling they went back into the kitchen. Ty looked over at her and asked, "What are you to on about?" Amy answered, "Oh nothing, although Justin I hear you really like the country life." After a moment of thought Justin got her comment and while hugging his wife he proudly said, "Yes I love the county life, it is romantic." The adults chucked as they all went to have breakfast with the kids.
After breakfast the kids headed out for their day with a reminder from Amy about making sure Georgie was with the Twins when they jumped. The PM, Maryann and the director were spending the day with the Equine part of the program. As they walked out with Amy and Georgie to the stables they met up with Rusty, the young man they had met earlier who was starting to work with horses and showed a lot of promise. He walked over to them extending his hand. "Good morning ya'll, its good to see you again. The PM answered, "Rusty it is good to see you, we are looking forward to spending some time with you guys today. Let me introduce my Director of Child Services. Vince this is Rusty the young man I have talked about. I think you two should spend some time together. I think he can provide a unique perspective of what the program has meant to him." Rusty smiled, "Do you ride, if so how about you help me take a couple of horses out for some exercise." Marveling at the young man's intensity he agreed and they went to tack up. As they rode away Maryanne said to the group, "That boy is going to do something big. I have never seen a young person with so much charisma." Georgie laughed adding, "And you should see him with horses, he was born for this. When he came here he was angry and introverted. He kind of reminded me of how I was when I showed up. Now look at him." Maryanne and the PM glanced at each other nodding their heads.
Amy and Georgie made sure that they had several new arrivals scheduled for the day. Maryanne went with Amy and Georgie was with the PM at Heartland. They met with the owners and had their initial meeting. After that they met the horse and talked in detail about the issues. They were impressed with the interview process. Amy and Georgie each asked questions about the environment the horse came from, when the issue started and how the horse had changed. Their focus was genuine and they completely engaged the owner. To be honest the owners were initially a little overwhelmed with the observers but both Amy and Georgie set the tone for an easy and open conversation. Amy's horse was struggling with getting into a trailer. The owner said, "It took four of us to get him here, he was not happy. We tranked him a little so he did calm down." Amy asked some additional follow up questions. She told the owners that she would work with him after lunch and after Ty vetted him, so they could go get settled at the Dude Ranch and head back after lunch. As they left Maryanne had about a hundred questions. "Amy that was amazing, do you do that for every client, asking about the horses environment and how the horse had changed. I never thought that was important." Amy smiled, "Well actually these clients didn't provide a lot of up-front information so I needed to dig deep with them. Most of the time the horse's environment plays a major part of the treatment and I like to know how the horse is different so I know what to strive to achieve. I need to know what the horse was like before the issue occurred." Maryann was dumbfounded, "Amy, how did you learn all this?" Amy got a little solemn, "I learned it from my mom and from her journals. When I read them it is like she is talking to me." Realizing the emotions, they hugged and went to spend some time with the horse.
Over at Heartland the PM and Georgie were with her client. He was a world class jumper who was recovering from an injury. The owners were from Vancouver and were staying at Fairfield. The concern was that the horse was physically well but didn't seem to be mentally there. They specifically asked for Georgie since she was an Olympic champion. Seeing that the PM was shadowing her was a big surprise but they were impressed at how down to earth he was. They immediately felt at ease as their conversation continued. Georgie opened the discussion, "Well I have watched videos of his shows before the injury and I have to say, he is spectacular. I am kind of opinionated with my horse Phoenix but I would love to ride him. Let's talk through the injury and recovery. Then let's set some goals. We need to determine if this is physical or mental. One time Phoenix had a serios stone bruise and even after he healed he was hesitant. I had to work with him to reestablish his confidence. And he took me to the Olympics." She said beaming. "I am confident we can get this figured out, we will just need to be patient." The PM sat back listening to the conversation. The bond that Georgie was forming with the owners was amazing and he made note that they were very open with her. They sat in the office and discussed treatment steps, Georgie laying them out in detail. After they finished they went to see the horse.
When they went to the stable, the horse immediate noticed his owners and walked over th them. The PM felt the need to speak, "My god he is beautiful and look how he comes to you." "The woman owner said tearfully, "He is our baby. He belongs to our daughter who jumps him. She was hurt severely when they had the accident. She is still recovering but the doctors feel she will be able to ride again." Georgie immediately perked up. "Is she able to come here? I really think your horse feels guilty and is not responding because of it. Horses feel grief and pain and your horse is worried about her. Has she been out to see him?" "No she has been to upset and her recovery has been difficult." Georgie reached over and held their hands, "Well I think they need to be with each other and I am confident that they will help each other recover. I am sure of it." It was like a light bulb went off for the owners. "Young lady you are correct, it's amazing. We will get her on a plane this afternoon." They hugged her and headed back to Fairfield. Georgie got with Steven to make sure he vetted the horse before she spent time with him after lunch.
After lunch Amy and Maryanne checked in with Haley and Lyndy. Haley was able to get the horse saddled and a trail ride was going to happen later. She was excited when she told them. Maryanne and Amy went with Ty to observe his vetting process. Amy guided her, "Even though we have been told what is wrong, we still vet each horse. It is as much for our benefit as theirs. Sometime a different perspective is important to diagnosing the issue. Ty and our vet team have a skill at finding things others may not. Years ago my father's wife brought her horse in because he wasn't eating. Evan after her vet couldn't find what was wrong Ty looked over the x-rays and saw an infected tooth that he removed solving the problem." She beamed as she told the story. After the exam Ty confirmed the issue and Amy had the horse taken to the round pen. Then Ty and Maryanne watched her do join up. She was definitely the master and had the horse trusting her quickly. She said, "We'll take a break and I want to try to trailer him. I think he may be ready.
Meanwhile over at Heartland Georgie and the PM watched as Steven went through the vetting process. After he was done, he talked with them. "Well I looked over the files from his treatment and I have to agree. I see no issues. In my opinion he is 100% healed. His muscle mass is good but needs a little development since has hasn't been competing. There is nothing holding him back, just desire and will." The PM looked with a question, "Desire and will, how can you medically diagnose that." Steven laughed, "Well sir there is nothing medical about it. If a horse has a bond with rider like this horse does, they can be depressed or happy based on how the other feels. We see it a lot here and it is something that most people don't realize." Georgie continued, "Amy taught me a long time ago that a bond between a horse and rider is forever. I can't tell you how many times Phoenix and I reacted to each other's feeling, both highs and lows." The PM smiled understanding but their conversation was interrupted when two little jabbering voices were heard outside the office. Maddie and Gwen laughed as they carried in Hannah and Noah, both reaching for their mommy jabbering away at their parents. He laughed, "Well who do we have hear getting their attention." "Well thein is Noah and Hannah our 9-month-old twins." She beamed," "Gwen and Maddie watch them for us some times." Maddie high fived her BFF. The PM said hello to them and the both lunged for him. Steven laughed grabbing Georgie's hand, "Well looks like they have a new friend now, we will leave you all now." Maddie took control, "Don't worry guys I got this," Taking the happy babbling twins away.
The rest of the day continued to provide the PM, his wife and the Director insight into the Equine side of the business. The Director had a great ride with Rusty gaining a lot of insight on the program and what he felt was the best part. The three of them watched him join up, amazed at the level of skill he had acquired. The also took the time to watch Amy and Georgie join up with the horses they were with. Maryanne questioned Amy when she joined up with her horse again. She answered, "I joined up with Spartan hundreds of time and Blaze and I join up often. Just like humans horses have mood swings so it is important to always reestablish the bond. I needed to join up again because the first time he was still under a little of sedation. I could tell in his eyes that I needed to do it again." The Director looked at her with a puzzled look, "Hie eyes" Before she could answer Rusty motioned to her asking if he should answer. She smiled as he responded, "Well horses can tell you how they feel in many ways, their posture, body language and the noises they make. But their eyes tell you everything. Just like humans their eyes are the window to their soul. Amy showed me how to look at a horse's eyes to see how they feel. A horse never lies and his eyes will tell you what you need to know." Vince was even more impressed with this young man, smiling at the PM and his wife. It had been an extraordinary day.
After watching Georgie at Heartland the Trudeau's were treated watching Lyndy work with Elena and her horse. She had already saddled him and went on a trail ride. To continue to bond she did a second join up and as Georgie and Amy looked on. Georgie guided her through the process and the second time she had the horse over her shoulder in short order. Seeing the look on her face was amazing for her parent's as they beamed with pride. Georgie spoke up, "Just like Haley she is a natural. The both seem to have a keen intuition when working with a horse. It's something they should continue to develop if it is what they like. Plus boys really like girls and horses," as she hugged Steven. Amy chimed in, "Don't I know it," kissing Ty's cheek. The PM moaned, "It is getting pretty deep in here." Before they went to get ready for the BBQ at Heartland the entire group met at the Fairfield meeting room to debrief. Clint and his team were there and discussed the hopeful outcomes from the farewell meeting and brunch tomorrow. After they finished, The Trudeaus called Ty and Amy over to chat. "Well the girls convinced us to let them stay for the rest of the week. I am heading to Europe for conference, Maryanne has some commitments, Brad has a summer hocky camp and Bart has a doctor's appointment he needs to make. So, could the girls possibly stay through Sunday. Maryanne will come back to get them if that is OK." Ty looked at Amy and laughed, "Well they can be a burden but I guess so." Amy smacked him, "Of course they can and to be honest anytime any or all of you want to visit you are more than welcome. Our home is yours. They will have to stay with us though as Fairfield is booked. Wyatt and Ty might be overwhelmed but they can suck it up." The four of them smiled and went to tell the girls. Screams were heard throughout the estate.
The BBQ at Heartland had grown from the original group. The entire family was there along with members of the Board and a lot of staff. Clint and his team attended as well as the kids in the program. The ranch was abuzz with activity, especially when the fishing group arrived home. As the cars unpacked all the kids ran to their parents and a wary group of adults staggered out of the car. Only Brad seemed to have energy and he told the other adults, "The kids were all great, these old guys, they were kind of a problem." JT immediately responded, "No way, GG, Max and Grandpa were awesome. The night would surely be filled with stories and all the moms were sure the little men would sleep well tonight. Everyone circulated talking about the two days they all experienced. The kids from the program were proud of their interaction and the members of the PM's team had nothing but great things to say. The kids played well together, Steven held his very excited twins, the little fishermen continued to bond and play and Lyndy sat close to Wyatt. They hadn't been able to be together for a while so they were inseparable.
The PM, Maryanne, Amy, Ty, Jack Lisa, Lou, Scott, Max and Lilly sat on the porch looking over everything. Justin spoke up, "We just want to say that this has been and amazing experience. We had expectations but what we saw was well above them. You guys and this program are amazing. Vince and I have already had a chat with Clint and his boss and we have some ideas on how we can help make this even better and most importantly how it can be implemented throughout Canada." He looked at Amy, Lou and Jack directly, "With your permission we would like to look into rolling out a national program and name it after Marion. She is an inspiration and we want her name to be associated with helping troubled youth." Looking at Scott and Ty he continued, "I know there are a couple of you who know what I mean." They gasped and Jack was the first to be able to respond. "Justin that is wonderful. Our family would be honored." The entire group was breathless as Georgie, Katie, Lyndy and Wyatt approached them. Lyndy spoke, "Mom, Dad what's up why is everyone crying." Maryanne spoke for the group. "Well these are happy tears, we have some big news that we will be sharing tomorrow at the Brunch. It is all good but you will have to wait until then.
The BBQ ended early as everyone was tired. Amy and Ty checked on the kids spending a little extra time with JT. As they got ready for bed they were quiet. They laid next to each other as Ty took a deep breath and spoke, "I am still in shock about what the PM unveiled to us tonight. It is unbelievable, I am so proud of everyone, especially you. I have to think your mom is looking down proud of what you have accomplished. You have created a long-lasting legacy in her honor." Amy rolled over to his side, "Ty you are just as much a part of this as well. Her belief in you brought you to me. You are her legacy too." Their kiss intensified as Amy moved to embrace her lover. Ty returned the energy and they basked in each other's love. Amy kissed him all over his body and he moaned as she moved to parts of it he needed her to. As she pleasured him he held her reacting to her onslaught. When the time was right he became the aggressor, rolling her over as she succumbed to his loving advances. She arched her back and grabbed the sheets as he brought her to a level of love she longed for. When they were each satisfied they joined as one. Ty whispered, "Amy, I have been thinking about this all day. I love you Mrs. Borden." Amy responded with a gentle moan saying his name over and over as they moved in harmony. As their love peaked the intertwined lovers tremored as one. After extending their love after climax, they finally laid down next to each other catching their breath. Amy giggled and Ty wondered what was up. "she whispered, did you notice that Maryanne seemed a bit flush this morning." Ty laughed, "I know Justin told me they had a good night. And he told me how much he loves her." Amy smiled, "Not as much as I love you Dr. Borden." They held each other as they fell into a calm sleep.
After a little sleep in Ty and Amy walked down to the kitchen to a room full of children tapping their fingers on the table. Before they could speak up Ty interjected, "Good morning our loving children whose parents were Ok with the Trudeau kids staying the rest of the week." Amy smiled kissing his cheek as the girls decided not to speak. Lyndy spoke up, "Mom, dad coffee?" After a very lite breakfast the family did the morning chores and got ready to head to Fairfield. Amy, Ty, Lyndy, Maddie and JT left a little early to get ready for the meeting. The Twins would be going with Katie and Clay. As family, staff, the PMs team, Clint's team and the program kids converged they saw that the jumping arena was set up for a meeting with food tables in the back and large tables for folks to eat at. The PM insisted that the government foot the bill so the extra amenities were added for comfort. As the group settled the PM and his Director of Children's Services stood at the makeshift podium and a couple of screens projecting the Canadian Government Symbol. As he got their attention he asked his wife, Amy, Ty, Lou, Georgie, Jack and Lisa to join him up front. He began by welcoming a everyone and thanking them for joining the team for this meeting. He spoke with feeling, "I just need to say before we get to the fun stuff that these few days have been one of the best experiences my wife, my team and I have ever had. This organization, you all are simply amazing. Every component of this program is a well-oiled machine and as we talked with the kids in the program each one told us what it meant to them.' He nodded at Maryanne as she took over. "Good morning, when we talked to each of the young men and women in the program each of them were open and honest about their feelings. As a whole they all were overwhelmed at the kindness they received from all of you, You listened to them and provided them guidance. The felt love but there was a most amazing comment we received that really touched Justin and I. One youngster told us that before he came her he dreaded each day but now he looks forward to each day and is ready for the future." She took a moment to compose herself and Justin put his arm around her. "This program is special and needs to be shared."
She sat down and the PM introduced his Director of CS, "Everyone I am going to introduce Vince Spinelli, Canada's Director of Child Services. He has an announcement to make." The screen changed to the familiar program logo, The Marion Fleming Youth Enrichment Program. The logo had the picture of Marion, Pegasus and Spartan in the background. "Good morning, I have some exciting news. This team along with the support of our Prime Minister and his wife Maryanne will be brining to the legislature a national program we are proposing. This program will be branded as you see on the screen. The screen changed to an update logo that include pictures of Amy, Ty and Georgie. Our plan is to set up funding that will allow other organizations like yours to build a youth program in their local areas affiliated with the Child Services office. The template will match what you do here and locations that qualify will be required to come here to learn from the best." He stopped as the entire audience erupted in applause as he continued, "Lisa and Jack, we are also going to ensure a budget is created to support this program as well to help them you be able to be a training center. But most importantly we will be supplementing your program with annual funds to ensure it grows and prospers." Laughing he said, "You do have a business to run and we felt it right that we take some of the financial burden off of you."
The group on the stage we stunned. Feeling compelled to speak, Lisa gathered herself and came to the microphone. "Mr. Prime Minister, Maryanne and team on behalf of the Heartland Equestrian Experience I want to thank you for this recognition. We are humbled by what has been presented this morning. I never met Marion Fleming but I see her every day in her children, grandchildren and he father's eyes. Her legacy is what you see in this room and reflected in the youth program that has been developed with her in mind. We are especially excited to see Amy, Georgie and Ty represented on the new logo. They will tell you it is unnecessary but the three of them are part of the next generation that will move us forward." The group applauded again. Lisa then called up Maddie. "As you all know Maddie Borden is the Assistant CEO of this company and I believe it is only fitting that she also say a few words." Maddie walked up a little overwhelmed and as Lisa helped her up she spoke into the microphone. "You know I am just a kid but I can even see how awesome this program is." She began to get emotional. "I never knew my Grandma but I feel like I know her well. I see her in my mommy, my sister, my cousin Katie and mostly in my GG. She is all around us and I am so happy that her legacy will be with us forever." Most everyone was in tears, especially the Trudeau's and the Borden's. Maddie ran into her GG's arms for a warm embrace tears flowing for both of them. The PM approached the microphone and gathered himself. "Well I cant top that so again thank you and let's enjoy our food.
The brunch was enjoyed as everyone chatted about the big news. As the group dispersed the Borden and Trudeau families went to the living room to say personal goodbyes. The Trudeau girls hugged their parents and brothers. The PM spoke to them. "Now you girls behave yourself and listen to what Ty and Amy tell you. You are not guest you are a part of the family so pitch in where you need to." Haley smiled, "Chill dad we know and we will behave. Although Lyndy and Wyatt wanted to know if I could go to the movies with their friends on Friday, you guys Ok with that?" Maryann grabbed Justinn's arm before he responded, "Girls be respectful and have fun. Justin we need to go." Amy and Ty spoke briefly to them privately and they loaded up in the SUVs to head to the airport. One SUV, a driver and two security team members were staying behind with the kids. It was defiantly not the norm for the Borden's but they understood why the security was needed. As they left Maryanne hugged her girls on more time. "Bart and I will be back on Sunday to pick you up at the airport and we will talk every day. Mind Amy and Ty and enjoy your time hear. I love you all very much." Now it was Justin pulling Maryanne away. As they drove away the family waved goodbye. Amy and Ty smiled as the watch the girls head to the stables. Elena grabbed JT smiling at him, "can you show me Blue Boy? He gave a thumbs up.
