Chapter Seventy-One

Better Together

A/N – Definitely a lot to be thankful for after the last chapter full of big news. Weddings, Babies and a very talented girl getting something well deserved. And as always my main premise is the focus on the amazing Borden family. I always find myself moving their way which I have come to believe is what the readers of this story want. On this timeline I have storylines all the way into next summer. So after 70 Chapters and over 300K words I still have a lot to say. And as always let me know what you would like me to write about. Some of my best storylines have come from loyal readers. The next chapter will be light and a lot of Borden stuff, especially Amy and Ty. I don't think I have neglected them but I think an infusion of some TAMY stuff is due. As always, your reviews are very important to me and feel free to let me know what you think. The routine returned after the active and exciting Thanksgiving holiday. Sadly, they had to say goodbye to Max and Lilly as they headed back to Colorado. They weren't able to make Christmas as they were spending it with Max's kids and grandkids, two of which were just born in the last few months. They did commit to send gifts and be there for New Years. The kids were invested totally in school preparing for exams and the 2+ week holiday break. Lyndy made a trip with her mom and dad, Wyatt and her siblings for a tour of the Goddard School, per the school's request. They felt that the entire family needed to see where she would be going and what she would be doing. The had it on a Saturday so the kids didn't miss school. They were all amazed that the facility and Lyndy especially liked the state-of-the-art dance studios. She got to meet some of the students and teachers and felt welcomed by everyone there. She leaned into Wyatt, "I think I made the right decision." To Maddie's disgust he leaned over and kissed her cheek. After the morning walk through Amy and Ty surprised them with lunch in downtown Calgary and an afternoon at the Calgary Children's Fun Center. It had a ropes course, mini golf and a lot of other kid activities for all of them. By dinner time they were exhausted but they had one more surprise. They had a family dinner at the Lake House Restaurant on Lake Bonavista in Calgary. When they sat down Lyndy noticed that her mom seemed distant and misty eyed. She leaned over, "What's up mom are you Ok." She smiled and spoke to the group, "Do you know that your dad and I came here for our 5th anniversary. Lyndy you were 31/2 and Annie and Addie you were less than a year old. Sorry Maddie and JT you weren't around yet." Holding Ty's hand she continued. "Anyway we spent the night in Calgary and had dinner here, Mimi and GG surprised us with the entire weekend as an anniversary present. It seems like a long ago but it was our first night away since you guys were born. We had a wonderful time and I am just remembering it. We wanted you so see it to because it is a special place for us." The girls all smiled at her story realizing how much their parents loved each other so much. After a fun dinner they packed up the SUV and headed home. It was an amazing day.

Amy and Ty were in the office when her email dinged. She smiled and looked over to Ty. "Well it's confirmed, MaryAnn said they could visit between Christmas and New Year's. They had family stuff for the actual holidays but she says and I quote, The kids will kill me if we don't come for a few days." Justin is coming and even Brad. Seems are kids stay in touch a lot and need a little Borden time" Ty smiled and came over to hug her. Amy was excited and continued in the planning mode. "I am going to get with Lou and Jenn to make sure we hold some rooms at Fairfield. Do you thinks the kids want to stay with us. Maybe Maryanne and Justin want to as well." She began to rattle off who would stay where when Ty put his hand over her mouth. "Ames, you are acting like Lou, chill it will all work out." She smiled calming down a bit. She refocused on her man kissing him passionately. Before they continued, Ty went to lock the door so their make out session would not be interrupted. After some time there was a light knock on the door and an out of breath Amy and Ty pulled themselves back together, checked their clothes and hair and opened up. It was Katie, "Hey guys I hope I didn't interrupt anything guys." Amy gathered herself and answered, "Oh I guess when we were on our call and closed the door it must have locked." Katie giggled, "Anyway the Martins are here with Destiny." Amy got up remembering they were coming. Katie kept giggling, "And Ty you shirt is inside out, guess it was dark when you got dressed this morning." Now it was time for Amy to giggle an after kissing Ty on the cheek, she headed out with Katie. As they went to see the clients, she whispered into Katie's ear, "Busted" Katie pulled her in for a hug. "That is what I love about you too, You are the benchmark for love and really cute when you blush."

After Katie and Amy met with Destiny's Owners, Ty went to get him for an exam. After meeting the owners with them he had some things to look for. After an hour or so he took Destiny back to his assigned stall and let Katie know that he found nothing serious, just a little tenderness in his left shoulder that he attributed to a small strain. Ty still had their family dinner and Amy and his make out session earlier on his mind. He decided to look for something up on his phone and was so wrapped up he didn't hear his wife sneaking up behind him. She grabbed his waste and whispered, "Surprise." He turned around and kissed his wife deeply. As they were wrapped up in each other they heard a disgusted grunt and saw Georgie staring at them. "You know Katie told me all about the inside out shirt thing. You all need to get a room or something. Anyway, Amy can you look at this horse I have at Heartland or are you two busy making out." Ty laughed, "I just need her for a minute or two, and not to make out." Georgie smiled as Amy said she would meet her in a half hour. Ty and Amy walked into the office and kept the door open this time. Amy was a little bummed expecting another chance to kiss her husband. He noticed her puppy dog eyes and looked at her sweetly, "Babe, I think it is time for a weekend away, just us." Amy's eyes began to open wide excited about the possibility of being with her love for a weekend alone. He continued, "So, the weekend after next we have nothing going on. I looked online and we can get a room at the Banff Rocky Mountain Resort on Lake Louise. How about we leave Friday afternoon, check in for a couple of nights and get home for dinner on Sunday. We can ask Katie and Clay to stay here and most likely some of the kids may want to stay with friends.. What do you say?" Amy took a moment to look deep into her husband's eyes. "That would be awesome. Do you think we will ever leave the room?" He laughed, "Well there are some great horse trails and we could bring ours or I am sure can rent one." She grabbed his arm and rolled her eyes, "I hope they have really good room service."

At dinner that night Amy and Ty let the kids know two things. Amy started, "Kids I have some exciting news The Trudeaus will be visiting between Christmas and New Year's." JT jumped up yelling, "Awesome I can wait to see Bart, maybe GG and Max will take us ice fishing." Amy looked at the girls noting that they were fairly calm. "Girls, aren't you excited." Maddie looked at her, "Well of course we are and can't wait to see them. Hopefully, we can get some trail rides in and I know Wyatt would like to hang with Brant for some guy time." Amy looked at Ty confused as Lyndy spoke up, "Mom and dad, we already know. I mean hello, social media. Haley instant messaged me and said she would love to go out with Rusty, Wyatt and I to see a movie." Annnie added to the discussion. "And Ezzie instant messaged me and hoped that Maddie, Addie and I could go for a ride with her and Emmie and maybe go to the mall." Ty laughed, "Well it seems you girls have your plans in place and little guy, we can call GG after dinner." JT high fived his dad. "But your mom and I also wanted to let you know that next weekend we will be out of town for a couple of nights. So, Katie and Clay will be staying with you guys and you need to behave and mind them." Maddie laughed, "Does this have something to do with the inside out T-shirt thing. Trust me everyone knows about it." Amy looked at her kids with a motherly look, "Well girls, your dad and I need time alone together, just us. We have been very busy lately and need a break. So, I would watch your comments and enjoy your weekend without us. Do I make myself clear." The girls had a look of slight fear in their eyes as they absorbed what their mom had said. Their parents did discipline them when it was deserved but this seemed a little over the top. After a few minutes of silence Annie spoke for the others, "We are sorry mom we were just having some fun. We are not embarrassed about what happened in fact it makes us feel kind if happy that you both are so in love." TJ had a very worried look on his face and Ty and Amy couldn't take the tension anymore and both broke out in laughter. The girls were confused and JT smiled a little. Amy leaned over to them. "Guys we are just joking, we are not mad and yes we do need some time alone. And yes dad's shirt was inside out. It happened because…" Maddie put her hand up and screamed, "Mom we don't need to know the details, its already gross enough." Everyone laughed and continued to talk about the Trudeau visit and some things they could do.

The following night after dinner the girls and Wyatt began their exam prep. They had decided to work together at the dining room table every night until they were over. Amy and Ty promised to keep JT busy and out of there way, but if they needed them all they had to do was ask. Earlier in the school year during the teacher meeting several of them inquired about the family studying time all of the kids mentioned. It seemed that they were all impressed and wondered how they came up with the idea. To their surprise, Amy and Ty said it was all them. Deep down they were so proud of them. Their kids were their life and every day they felt blessed two have them a part of them. What made them the happiest is how they loved each other and loved each of them. Everyone around them saw the amazing bond they all had with each other. As their study session was about to begin Amy looked over to JT, "Hey bud how about me you and daddy go for a ride to the creek. It's not that cold so what do you say." He smiled, "Cool, can we leave now." Everyone laughed as they headed to the barn. Lyndy took control, "Ok let's start, who wants to be first." Maddie spoke up, "Well here is what I need help with." Wyatt and the other girls listened intently as she went over her material. Each of them helped in the area they were the strongest in. Maddie really loved the help and understood her material better when they finished. As each of them took their turn, the others were eager to help. Even with Lyndy and Wyatt, the twins, and Maddie gave their opinion. Before they finished Amy snuck into the kitchen while Ty and JT settled the horses. She listened to the interaction and was in tears listening to their kids and Wyatt. As Ty walked in she out her finger to her mouth so Ty and JT would be quiet. Ty noticed she was in tears as she laid her head on his shoulder. "I love them so much." She whispered to JT to run in to see his sisters and Wyatt. He bolted in the dining room and everyone laughed. Addie asked, "How was your ride kiddo?" He laughed, "A lot better than homework." Everyone laughed as Amy and Ty walked in the room all smiles.

Over the next week or so, they study sessions provided great results. Each of the girls and Wyatt felt as though they had done well on their test and were happy that there were only a few left. The final week of school would be fun as there would be parties and activities the entire week. Each of the girls also has some Christmas shopping to do and all of them had given their list to their parents. Tomorrow Amy and Ty would head to Banff for their weekend. Everything was set up for the weekend and Amy was trying to keep her excitement controlled. She had picked up some new night ware that she hope would drive her husband wild. The last couple of nights she joked that they needed to warm up for the weekend. Although not complaining, Ty couldn't deny that Amy was in the zone intimately the last few nights. The night before as they laid there catching their breath he whispered, "Babe maybe we need to conserve our energy for the weekend. I mean these last few nights have been amazing." She smiled devilishly at him tickling his side, "You just wait mister." The next day after hugs and kisses goodbye, the kids headed off to school understanding the weekend coverage. Amy and Ty could barely function in anticipation of their weekend away. They promised a few calls to them over the weekend. Addie laughed, "Just make sure there aren't any from the Jacuzzi, like together." Maddie gagged as she thought of what that looked like. Promptly at 3:00pm they jumped in the prepacked car and headed out. They entire ride there they held hands and talked about everything, the kids, the business and their lives. As they pulled up the valet took the key and bellman got their bags. They went to check in excited to begin their weekend.

As the bellman took them to their room they held hands. He opened the door and they saw all their bags had been placed in the hallway. He handed them two key cards and wished them a good weekend and smiling put the Do Not Disturb sign on the door. As the door closed Amy jumped in Ty's arms and began kissing him with all the pent-up love that had been building all day, actually all week. They continued their onslaught of affection and attempted to make it to the bedroom as pieces of clothing were discarded on the way. By the time they made it the bed, they were on fire and completely naked. They didn't care that the window blinds were open, all they cared about was making love to each other. Amy gained the early advantage and took control, moving over all parts of his body. She know every part of his anatomy that needed her attention and missed nothing. His moans were loud and again they didn't care. As she pleasured him in the way she know he loved he gasped at her passion and aggressiveness. He tried to gain some domination but it was useless. The more he tried the more focused she became. Soon he was close to reaching the outcome she was striving for and erupted in uninhibited ecstasy. She smiled as she moved back up to him, "So not a bad start, hey Dr. Borden." He tried to catch his breath and said, "My turn." He rolled her over and matched her level of attention to every part of her body. Like his wife he knew her body as well from head to toe. And he took the time to meet her needs on every inch of her body. She writhed in orgasm after orgasm and he pleasured her in ways only he was skilled at. After he was done meeting her needs, they joined as one in a fluid movement that was only Amy and Ty. As they reached a combined climax they continued on and on until they finally succumbed to exhaustion. They had only been in the room less than two hours and the bed was a mess and clothes were everywhere. Amy laid next to Ty with a smile as big as the sun, snuggling onto his chest. "Well that was fun. I have to admit Dr. Borden you were in rare form. "He smiled and looked into her eyes with a love unmatched. "Amy I never thought it was possible, but I love you more than ever. You are my everything."

They laid a little while longer and finally had the energy to get up. Amy smile and after she came out of the bathroom in a silk robe she said, "I know you may be surprised but I am hungry, let's go try out that amazing restaurant." He agreed and after a shared shower and a call to make a reservation, they got dressed and headed down to eat. Ty had a pair of dress slacks, dark green dress shirt and a trendy sport coat. When Amy walked out of the bathroom Ty was overwhelmed with her beauty. She had a black skirt that hung just between her knees and thighs with a pair of ankle stepped shoes with a small heal – definitely not cowboy boots. The skirt moved freely as she walked but her top is what caught his attention. He had never seen it before and with her hair done up differently than normal she was simply dressed but ravishing. Her silky top was not form fitting but showed off her attributes. He spoke in hush, "My god Amy you are beautiful. I am going to have to keep my eyes on you as I expect I won't be alone." She giggled and they headed down to dinner. The approached the hostess and were seated in a remote spot overlooking the lake. After a shared appetizer, as usual the cowgirl ordered a steak and Ty got lamb. They made sure they each had a taste of the others which the fed to on another. Several people around them noticed the closeness of the couple. Ty laughed when he saw a woman at a table near them swat her husband who was gawking at them, specifically Amy. He smiled at her, "See that guy over there is staring at you and his wife just smacked him. You are so hot, Miracle Girl." She blushed and then shot back at him, "Maybe he is looking at you, You are kind of a hottie." They giggled and continued sharing their dinner. After a desert of assorted chocolate treats they went to pay. To their surprise Jack and Lisa paid in advance. They thanked the waiter, Ty slipped him a generous tip and they headed up to their room.

Back at home Katie, Clay and the kids ordered pizza and had a planned movie night. Annie, Addie and Maddie had invited a friend to stay the night so the large group got set up to watch a couple of movies. Halfway through the first one, JT fell asleep so Lyndy and Wyatt took him to bed. He hugged them both after a nighttime book and as they walked out he said quietly, "I love you guys." Lyndy was in tears and Wyatt hugged her tightly. She smirked, "I could do this for a while but we better get back. At the resort, Amy and Ty were full and relaxed. Ty recommended a jacuzzi bath and Amy jumped at the opportunity. After they got in Amy had an idea. She picked up her phone and called Katie. After a quick conversation she turned the speaker phone on so everyone could hear. As Lyndy and Wyatt walked back down they heard their mom talking. "How are things going kids, are you having a fun movie night." All of them said hello including the visitors. Maddie spoke up, "JT already hit the sac, what are you guys doing." The heard the two of them laugh as Ty spoke first, "Well as we promised, we are in the jacuzzi, should we turn the video on?" The shocked girls all at once screamed, "No, please don't, just being on the phone is gross enough." Katie and Caly were laughing now as Amy continued, "It's no big deal guys, it's not like it is the first time. Ty remember that weekend." Addie stopped her immediately, "Mom stop, our friends are here, you are embarrassing." Amy continued, "Well Ok, it's really not a big deal but we will not video." Annie's friend Maya spoke to her not realizing that Amy and Ty could hear, "Come on Adds, your dad is hot, I am good seeing him in a hot tub." Realizing that they were on the call still she turned beet red, "Mr. and Mrs. Borden I am so sorry, I shouldn't have said that." Amy laughed and calmed her, "Its Ok, I kind of agree with you." The girls couldn't' wait for the call to end as they said their goodbyes. After another private conversation with Katie, Amy and Ty hung up. Needless to say Amy and Ty had a fun night of their own planned.

Late the following morning Ty stirred in the bed realizing the sun was in his eyes, More importantly lying next to him was an exposed and amazingly beautiful Amy sleeping soundly. The night before had been wonderful as they enjoyed their alone time. He attempted to move and go to the bathroom but they were tangled up together that made it impossible. Taking another route he began waking her with kisses and caresses. She moved and her face turned into a smile. "I sure hope that is my husband or we have a big problem. She opened her eyes and looked at her husband with a big smile. Ty whispered, "Hey beautiful." She stretched and started waking up to a beautiful late morning. She looked over to the clock, "Ty it is 10:30, oh my god it is so late." He smile and continued to kiss her all over ending on her lips. She tried to stop him, "Ty, I am hungry, let's eat something and we can figure out the rest of our day." He smiled as they rolled out of the bed. The headed to the bathroom to clean up and get dressed. Once they were ready they went exploring. They found a really nice café and had coffee and brunch stuff sitting close to each other. Amy checked her phone and saw she just got a text from Lyndy that wasn't urgent. She texted her back and answered her question. Ty asked. "What's up?" "Well she wanted to know if her an Wyatt should take Blaze and Triumph out for a ride. I told her of course. I really think she was checking on us." They finished and went for a walk around part of the lake just enjoying the warmer than normal weather. The got a hot chocolate and sat on a bench in a picturesque spot. The chatted about things and held each other's hands. It was a perfect moment for them because there were no meetings, deadlines, kids, staff or anything except the two of them. They went back to the room and enjoyed a relaxing bath. Never getting out of their bathrobes they ordered room service and stayed in all night. They snuggled, made love and just enjoyed their time alone. The weekend was everything they had hoped it would be. After a third round of passion, they laid next to each other calming from the love they had shared. Amy leaned over to hug her husband whispering, "We may need some time to rest when we get home. Last night was perfect, you were perfect." She smiled and kissed his neck. The both drifted off to a comfortable sleep still in each other's arms.

After another late morning and frolic in the shower they packed up and had their bags brought down. They had a light lunch at the Bistro at the resort and started heading home. On the drive they just held hands with no words needing to be said. Their weekend was better than what they had hoped for. They were completely relaxed and really were looking forward to seeing their kids. As they got close Amy texted Katie letting her know that they were an hour out. Katie said that they were going to have Maggie's Fried Chicken and sides courtesy of Lou for dinner. Amy really didn't want to cook dinner so she told Katie to thank Lou for her. They had to go to a wedding class so she told her the kids would be there alone. As they got closer she texted Lyndy. When they pulled up the kids and Wyatt were waiting. Amy hopped out of the car and the kids ran to her for a big hug. Ty got out and was the next one attacked. Wyatt helped Ty with their bags and everyone met in the living room. After a bunch of questions Ty and Amy went with the kids to the barn to visit the family horses. Dinner arrived and the family sat around the table laughing and joking about the kids weekend. There were only a few comments about the Jacuzzi call threat as Ty laughed, "Well I hear I am hot." The girls including Lyndy sighed in disgust. JT looked at him with a question in his eyes. "Daddy what does that mean? Am I hot too." Everyone burst out laughing as Amy pulled him onto her lap. "JT, you are the hottest." Again everyone laughed and hugged him. Amy and Ty looked over at the family holding hands under the table. They were as happy as they had ever been. After dinner and more laughs the kids got ready for bed as it was a school night. Amy and Ty made their rounds spending a little extra time with all of them. As they were silently getting ready for bed they were sneaking glances at each other. Amy and Ty were in love, a love that was unmatched. The cuddled up and quickly fell asleep dreaming of their weekend and their kids. Their lives couldn't be better.
