Chapter Eighty-Three

Healing and Lifelong Bonds

A/N – Before I started to proofread the last chapter I can't deny that I was a little concerned about the flow of the storyline. With a rather nonspecific title of "Time Moves On" I hoped to be able to tell mini stories about the key people. Of course that being the Borden's, so we could see glimpses of each of them. As I read through I felt as though I accomplished my goal, hopefully. The Amy issue came again from a reader so again thank you. For those of you who watched the series you know she had several bouts with nightmares so I thought The Discovery could be another spark for her. Her story will develop more and don't worry she will be Ok, especially with all the support from family and a very special friend. I also made inferences about new and developing bonds so expect some more on that. As I mentioned starting with the last chapters I am really going to focus on this family dynamic. Down the road there is a lot of other stuff going on for sure. Mature Content Enjoy!

Laying in Ty's arms all night brought Amy a very restful sleep. They had decided to tell the rest of the kids at breakfast because they knew for sure the other girls knew something was bothering their mother. Lyndy brought Wyatt up to speed so they worked to get the kids ready for school and started breakfast using the sleeping in reason to satisfy their curiosity. Amy woke up seeing a set of beautiful emerald eyes looking at her. "You know it's not polite to stare" He chuckled, "I can't help myself, you are beautiful." Amy huffed, we have to get up and get the kids ready for school." Ty laughed, "Don't worry I have heard them and Lyndy and Wyatt are handling it. I expect that Lyndy filled him in. So, are you still good with telling them this morning." She smiled, "Yes, we always have agreed not to keep secrets mister and this is no exception. And I can't wait to see Maryanne. You are still coming to the appointment tomorrow, right? Lyndy wants to come but I told her maybe next time. She is something else." They got up and before the headed downstairs, they got dressed for the day. Maddie ran and hugged her mom and dad, "Good morning mommy and daddy." Ty looked at Amy wondering if she knew something was up.

They sat down and the kids were very quiet and not one of them made a comment about being late. Amy smiled and got everyone's attention. "Guys, I have to tell you something. I know some of you have noticed I have been really tired lately." Maddie blurted out, "Oh mom are you sick again?" Amy smiled pulling her into her lap, "No honey physically I am Ok. I have been having trouble sleeping. Throughout my life I have occasionally had bad dreams, especially after something bad happens, like Spartan's death, my cancer and as long ago as when my mom died. I think finding all of those journals kind of sparked it again. So I am going to see someone tomorrow who is a friend of Mrs. Trudeau's. She is actually coming here to go with me and your dad." She took a moment to see if any of the kids had a question. She continued but noticed that JT, who was in Ty's lap looked upset. "I am going to be fine and I am sure the doctor will be able to help me. JT are you Ok?" He shakily responded, "It's my fault, I found those journals and now you are sad." She went to pick him up in her arms, "No, no baby, this is not your fault. Actually finding those have brought so much joy to my life. It's just that they also bring back memories of my life when I was young and sometimes they make me a little sad because I miss my mom." She smiled and looked into his eyes. "Can you do me a favor. Next time you see them can you tell them I said hi and that I love them." He hugged her whispering, "I will." The kids all hugged their mom and promised to be there for her. After they got them off to the busses, Amy texted Maryanne to confirm her arrival. She had some good news, Bart was coming with her and Justin so JT would be excited. Ty called Jack and he said he would take them fishing on Friday as they would have JT stay home.. They walked over to the office hand in hand, like school kids. Caleb whistled at them telling them to get a room.

Although they were busy again Amy couldn't keep her mind off of her friend's arrival and seeing the doctor. She also was trying to work ahead as she would need tomorrow afternoon off. Maryanne was going to be with Justin in the morning but was all hers in the afternoon for the appointment. Ty also freed up his afternoon and they ended up giving into Lyndy and allowed her to only do a half day. The four of them would leave after lunch at Maggie's. Lou had a table reserved for the entire group including Justin and the two security guards. The press knew he was in town but they hoped to avert them as much as possible. Justin and Maryanne along with the security team were staying at Fairfield and of course Bart would be with his buddy. Just after the kids got home Amy and Ty saw the SUV caravan coming down the drive. The kids were excited to have them there and waited on the porch as Ty and Amy approached the vehicles. All of a sudden, Bart jumped out of the back seat and ran to JT. The hugged each other tightly and along with Maddie and Gwen headed to the barn. The security team took their bags to Fairfield as the other girls greeted the Trudeaus with hugs and headed inside. Amy and Maryanne walked over to the pond to be alone. Ty was going to BBQ for dinner and Justin offered to help. The sides of course were from Maggie's. Once the mothers and kids returned everyone went to get ready for dinner. They sat around the table as the Borden kids talked about school. Lyndy, Wyatt and the twins offered to clean up and Maddie got Bart set up in JT's room. Amy, Ty, Maryanne and Justin sat in the living room talking. The conversation moved toward Amy's appointment. Maryanne spoke up, "Amy you are going to love Celene, she is very well respected in her field. I have shared some of your information and she feels good about providing you some things so you can begin to self-heal." Justin also provided support. "Amy I know Celene really well. You know she dated a friend of mine in college and is the reason we met each other. She is a great person, I know you will be happy working with her."

The Trudeaus left after laying out the ground rules for their little boy. Amy and Ty made the rounds a little concerned that the two little guys might be antsy, but they were happy to see them both out when they went in. All the girls hugged their mom extra tight before they said good night, even Wyatt hugged her. Ty and Amy went to their room to get ready for bed. Amy was sitting at the vanity combing her hair out and as usual it was driving Ty crazy. "Amy you are driving me insane, combing your beautiful hair and wearing those pajamas. You are so beautiful." He walked over to her and hugged her from behind. She smiled, "Thanks Ty I needed that. I am a little nervous about tomorrow. But this hug is keeping my mind off it." She leaned up and kissed him deeply." He smiled coyly, "Well I can think of other things that may help." He moved his hands under her top and caressed her breasts. She sighed heavily enjoying the touch of his hands. She stood up and kissed even more deeply. He picked her up as they kissed and he continued to touch her romantically. They made it to the bed and Ty decided he was going to help relax his wife. After clothes were discarded, she laid on her stomach and Ty began giving her a deep massage. It was working as she moaned heavily. "Geez Amy you are really tense, I think you really needed this." All she could do was continue to moan and call his name out. He started at her shoulders, moved down her back to her cute rear end and along her legs. He then made a bold move and massage the area that stimulated her the most. As he moved his finger and lips she came to an amazing climax as relaxed as she had ever been. She rolled over and stared at her amazing husband. He smiled, "Feel better." She whispered, I have never felt more relaxed, you are amazing and that was perfect." Ty was content with cuddling up and going to sleep as this was all about his wife but she pulled him down for a kiss and wrapped her legs around his waist. She smirked, "Dr. Borden, no good deed goes undone." The continue to make love for an hour longer until they fell into a peaceful sleep in each other's arms.

After a relaxing and upbeat breakfast Jack showed up to get the little guys. Amy made sure Lyndy knew when to meet them for lunch. Maryanne confirmed the time for lunch as well so Amy and Ty headed to get some work done. Ty made it a point to check in with Amy often throughout the morning. The trip to the doctor was weighing on her and he could see that. After the 5th check in she whispered to him, "Ty you are bubble wrapping me again." He smiled, "No Amy I just love you and want to make sure you know I am here." She made sure they were alone and hugged him as tears came to her eyes, "Ty I am scared, thanks for checking on me. I am almost done so when you are ready we better head over to Maggie's. When the got to lunch Lyndy, the Trudeaus along with Lou and Scott where there. Amy noticed several more seats and before she could ask, Lisa walked in with Lilly and Casey. Amy could barely contain herself as she hugged them all with tears in her eyes. She looked at Ty and he smiled whispering in her ear, "Everyone is here for you." Lunch was a lot of fun, Lisa, Lilly and Casey went back to Heartland to start getting ready for dinner that Jack and Lisa were hosting. Lou, Scott and Justin hugged Amy assuring her everything would be Ok. Lou hugged her a little longer showing her little sister she was there for her. They four of them loaded up into the car and headed to Calgary. Security decided there was no need for them to go which was a relief to Maryanne. As they rode they talked lightly. Lyndy was telling Maryanne about Goddard. Maryanne laughed, "My cousin used to teach there and she said it was the best school in all of Canada." The conversation was light but the all noticed that Amy was quiet. The pulled into the clinic and found a place to park. Ty grabbed her hand and smiled as they walked to the office.

Amy checked in and had a seat with Ty and Lyndy on each of her sides. Maryanne was noticed by several people waiting and was pleasantly chatting with them when she heard her friends voice, "Is she in the waiting room?' The door burst opened and the two friends embraced. "Cece, it is so good to see you. Where is your friend, I can't wait to meet her." Maryanne walked her over and Amy stood to greet her. She held out her hand and Celene immediately went to hug her, "Girl we hug here and if you are a friend of Annie's you are a friend of mine. And who are these people" Amy smiled, this is my husband Ty and my oldest daughter Lyndy." She smiled, "Lyndy you are as beautiful as your mom and Amy, wow, you have a pretty hot husband." Amy blushed and Maryanne smacked her friends arm, "Celene, shush, you are embarrassing." They all laughed as she said sorry and went back to her patients. Maryanne apologized for her friend and went to sit next to Amy. "She is crazy but trust me you will love her." After about a half hour Amy was called in. Celene just wanted to talk to her alone and would bring the others in later. She hugged Lyndy and Maryann and kissed Ty. Ty watched her walk in tentatively. He knew she was nervous but he didn't recall her ever looking so lost. He prayed silently that this would go well. Lyndy and Maryanne saw Ty's concern and each grabbed his arm. Lyndy spoke, "Don't worry daddy mom is going to be fine. I can feel it." Maryanne added, "Ty she is loved by many but mostly by you. She knows that and I am sure that love will get her passed this." They all smiled and sat back down to wait.

Amy sat and waited and looked around the office. Celene had walls full of educational degrees and other accomplishments. They were impressive. The door opened and she walked in. Amy stood and was embraced again. She laughed, "I hope you don't think I hug all my patients but any friend of Annie's is a friend of mine." She smiled genuinely and continued, "So do you have any questions before we start" Amy said no and Celene asked her to describe what was happening. Amy began talking about some of the reasons that she has suffered from nightmare dreams over the years. She described the specific life happenings that were difficult for her. Periodically Celene would ask a question but for the most part jotted some notes down. With Amy's approval she was taping the entire meeting so she could reference it back. Amy mentioned, "Each time I suffer from them they are at a different level of intensity. When my mom was killed, when Ty came back from Mongolia and almost died and when I was diagnosed with cancer were the worst three. This last time my worry came from the realization that my kids would not have a mom and Ty would not have a wife. It weighed on me very heavily and I was very worried." Celene shook her head and jotted a note. "Amy can I say something and you can let me know if you agree." Amy shook her head yes and she spoke, "Well Amy, there are similarities in those three experiences. I imagine you loved your mom deeply and I can tell that you and Ty care for each other completely. That love I believe is the trigger for those dreams. You are an extremely loving and caring person and watching your mom die and your husband almost die was difficult for you to process. And with the cancer, now you have six people that mean the world to you. And the thought of not being there for them was a traumatic experience for you." She took a breath to see if Amy would respond. After a few minutes she asked in a worried tone, "So every time something bad happens will these dreams return?" Celene smiled and comforted a distraught Amy. "Well that's what we are going to try to fix together."

After another 15 minutes of talking, Celene gave Amy some homework. She wanted her to write down what she remembered from her past dreams and how it related to a real-life event. They decided to meet weekly every Saturday morning for the new 4 weeks. If more time was needed they would decide then. They called in Ty, Lyndy and Maryanne and went over the plan. Ty noticed Amy seemed to be a little more settled. Celene noticed how they immediately held each other as he walked in. She made a quick note and they continued going over the plan. Ty and Lyndy thanked her for everything and Maryanne hugged her friend. "Don't forget, we have dinner tomorrow with you and Ollie. Hey Ty and Amy, you want to come to. Ollie is a riot, he used to play for the Mape Leafs and he lives in Flames country." Amy smiled and said they would check but they would love to if we can." On the ride home Amy was exhausted and dozed on Ty's arm. Maryanne and Lyndy were holding hands as Lyndy whispered in her ear. "My mom and dad really love each other. It is so amazing to see them show their love for each other and even more to be their daughter." Maryann smiled and whispered back. "I know honey, they are like one person and are so in love. But Lyndy they have the same love for you and all of the kids. Your parents are the most caring and compassionate people I have ever met." They smiled at each other and touched their foreheads. Ty looked in the mirror and smiled. Lyndy was so much like Amy and watching her interact with his wife's friend was emotional for him to watch. As they pulled up to the Heartland as expected some anxious kids were on the porch waiting to see their mom. She smiled but couldn't help but be a little nervous.

Amy's nervousness subsided when Annie, Addie and Maddie came to her for a supportive hug. They had no questions just hugs and kisses. Amy was so relieved and felt so loved by her girls. As they got ready to go in, Jack's truck pulled down the drive and JT hopped out and jumped in his mom's arms. He smiled' Mommy we caught a bunch of fish, and I helped gut them. We are going to fry them up for dinner, you want to help me and Bart." Ty looked over and said, JT mom is a little tired maybe Wyatt and I can help you." Amy hugged him tightly kissing his cheek, "No, I will help you little buddy. There is nothing else I would rather do." They settled into the house and helped get ready for dinner. It seemed that dinner turned into larger group with the Weber's, O'Dell's, Stillman's and even Will and Billy showed up. Before Maddie could ask, Will spoke up, "Maddie don't worry a friend of Bethany's from church is with her." Everyone laughed knowing that she would ask. As the dinner was dished out everyone took a seat. Jack set up a table for the teenagers and one for the little guys as all the adults sat at the dining room table. It was a packed house, everyone being there to support Amy. Everyone was very respectful and did not overwhelm her. Jack stood up and got everyone's attention. Everyone could tell he was a bit emotional. He spoke, "Well we have had and will have many dinners at Heartland but I feel the need to consider this as the 'We Love Amy' dinner. I don't want to say much more than that but Lisa and I are really happy that all of you are hear. Enjoy." Surprisingly, Amy stood and everyone looked her way. "Thank you grandpa. I want to thank you all for your support. Celene, Maryanne's friend and my doctor said a path to feeling better is to be open and upfront. The session I had today was difficult but when I left I felt much better. Even though she gave me homework." Everyone chuckled." I will continue to see her for as long as I need to and I know with your support it will all work out." Tears began to form in her eyes and Ty stood to support her. "I love everyone one of you with all my heart. You will be my reason to move past this. I consider myself a very blessed person to have all of you in my life." She leaned into Ty as JT blurted, "Let's Eat!"

Over the next few weeks Amy kept busy but never too busy to meet with Celene. Only Ty went with her and she loved his support. Celene was very impressed with her progress and determined that it was because of her effort and of course Ty. She came to realize the bond they had was not like any she had ever seen. After a fourth meeting, she decided to take a break and let Amy call if she needed anything. She was very confident she would be able to minimize the effect her nightmares had on her but was clear that this is something that may ever go away, but she can control it as it happens. Amy was excited and everyone notices her bright and positive attitude was coming back. One thing that warmed Amy's heart was seeing the bond growing between Ty and Wyatt. Ever since June died Lyndy and her had noticed their relationship growing closer. Ther were talking privately one night and Lyndy said, "I know most teenage girls might be a little concerned about their dad and boyfriend being so close, but Wyatt needs dad. He has lost so much and I think dad is amazing for stepping up. Mom, I love Wyatt and dad so much." Amy smiled and hugged her daughter. "Well honey, your dad is an amazing man and never really had a father/son relationship when he was young. As you know it wasn't until he came here to us that he connected with GG. Several times GG went all dad-like on him. Once when we broke up and dad kind of lost his way he took him to the end of the road and told him to either get his act together or shove off and don't come back." Lyndy was startled not remembering hearing that before. "Oh my god mom, I guess he came back." She laughed, "Yes he did and after we both got our act together we reconnected stronger than ever. You know I felt that the challenge helped us both understand that we were meant to be together. After dad's bike accident the guy that helped them brought back the Norton and the bike GG crashed and let me tell you they were a mess. When GG came in he had a tear in his eye. Later I heard from your Grandpa that the guy thought that your dad was his son because of how he cared for him." She smiled as Lyndy leaned into her neck holding her tight. "Mom, I am so happy and I love you."

That night Amy talked to Ty about her conversation with his daughter and he smiled. "You know we are becoming close. I know what he is going through. My parents were still alive but were never there for me and I never knew my grandparents. Amy he needs me and actually I need him. I love you and I love our kids but I am sure I have enough love for him too. Is Lyndy Ok with this." "Ty she is more than Ok, in fact she is really, really happy. She loves you so much and I have to say she really, really loves Wyatt. I have a feeling we need to talk to her about intimacy. They are so mature but are responsible." Ty's eyes opened wide, "Man I thought we had a little more time but I agree. I won't be weird about it but I will try to help him understand the ways of a women. I mean, I did great with you, right." She giggled kissing his bare chest, "I guess you have done Ok. But seriously before we go at it, we need to have a plan. Lyndy and I have had subtle conversations and I didn't tell you this but when Haley was hear I overheard them talking about it." Ty smirked, "Really before we go at it?" She tickled him, "Seriously Ty, let's not take this for granted. We both need to guide them without them knowing." He agreed and she smiled as she leaned into her chest. "I had no one to talk to. I mean my mom told me about the birds and the bees. Soraya thought every boy was hot, Ashley, well was Ashley and Lou and I weren't close. I want to be there for all my kids and Lyndy needs me now." Ty smiled and agreed, "Well, let's not even talk how I learned. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I will be there for Wyatt, you know I really consider him my son too. I have talked to Jack about it and he has really gave me some good advice." He heard Amy sniffling a little as their bodies pressed against each other. "Ames, what's up?" She whispered, "I love you and I think it is time to go at it." He smiled, looked deeply into her eyes and kissed her like the first time in the barn after the Fall Finale. Clothes were discarded and Amy rolled on top of her lover. They were in for a night of pure love.

As agreed upon Amy and Ty made sure they spent a lot of time with Lyndy and Wyatt. Ty and Wyatt had really became close. He would help him with some vet work and even on a few simple surgeries. As he promised they had a couple of trips to fish and even had Jack come along a time or two. Ty remembered when Jack took him fishing after his bike wreck and how it helped him mentally recover. At breakfast one Sunday morning, they decided to go to the river to fish and promised Amy and the kids that they would have a fish fry for dinner but they were in charge of the sides. JT spoke up, "You better catch enough, do you need me to come show you some tricks." Amy laughed, "Funny JT but don't forget you are hanging with the Stillman boys today." He gave a thumbs up and headed to get ready. Ty and Wyatt loaded up and before they left hugged Amy and Lyndy. They had a great morning, joking, laughing and catching over 12 beautiful trout. While they were cleaning them, Wyatt spoke timidly, "Mr., Borden, sorry dad, when did you know you loved Mrs. Borden and what did it feel like." He smiled, "Well you know I built her a jumping course and watched her go through it. I knew I had feelings for her already but she looked over to me, smiled and gave me a cute little hand wave. I was done and knew she was the one for me. If felt warm and comfortable. My stomach turned over, kind of nauseous but in a good way. Does that make sense?" Wyatt smiled, "I remember the exact moment that I knew I loved Lyndy and I felt the same way as you. Those Borden women are something else."

They laughed but Ty saw he wanted to ask more. "This is a little uncomfortable. I mean you know that Lyndy and I are affectionate, kissing and hugging a lot. I love her so much it hurts." He put his head down shyly, "But lately I have had other feelings like I want to move forward and I think she does to. Don't worry it's not what you think but we want to share a little more of ourselves with each other. I am sorry if this is a little too much for you, since you are her dad, but I need your opinion as a man." Ty smiled remembering when Amy and him began "exploring" each other more. "Well Wyatt, I am almost two years older than Amy and unfortunately knew a little more about it than I should have. My upbringing was not the best and I learned about intimacy the wrong way. Amy and I really learned together. We really enjoyed holding each other and kissing, even when we weren't together but the turning point was when we went to the fishing cabin to feed the horses. I got sick and we got stuck there overnight." He put his arm on Wyatt's shoulder, "Don't worry we didn't go too far but after laying next to her all night and the way she took care of me made us both realize that we loved each other. We were a little older than you guys but like we have discussed you both were much more mature than we were." Wyatt I will not lie to you. After the fishing cabin, we began a more involved relationship. We were deeply in love, like you and Lyndy. I guess what I am saying, I will not lie, is you two are young. But I think you will know when you are ready." Wyatt smiled a little red in the face. "Thanks for being so honest with me. And don't' worry Lyndy and I understand that we are young, it's just that sometimes we feel like old souls. Seeing the two of you is an inspiration for both of us. You know Lyndy loves the both of you so much and so do I." He smiled warmly, "Well we are both very lucky to have such beautiful, kind and caring partners. Just make sure you are always honest and open, even if it hurts. Jack told me a long time ago that secrets in a relationship always lead to bad results. We better get these packed up and get back or Maddie and JT will yell at us." They laughed, packed up and headed back to the Miracle Ranch.

Amy and Ty settled in their room after an awesome fish fry with all the trimmings – macaroni and cheese, potato salad, rolls and green beans. And to top it off several pies with ice cream for desert. After the table was cleaned up the family played a few games and went to get ready for bed. JT highly approved of the fish and Maddie also gave a high review. After rounds, Amy and Ty laid in bed talking. He told her about the discussion he had with Wyatt. She was really impressed with her husband. "Wow Ty you did a great job. Remember the fishing cabin and the time after that. We were so young but we couldn't keep our hands off each other." She giggled poking his ribs, "I still can't. But I have to tell you. Lyndy and I took a couple of client horses out for a good run. We talked a lot and I swear the conversation was almost the same. She asked when I knew it was time to move our relationship further and I was honest with her.." She smiled and leaned into him. "Ty, she is so mature and composed. She handled the discussion like a much older person. I was never that mature at almost 15, although I did have the hots for you." Ty spoke softly, "Well we turned out alright but I think we still need to stay in touch with them I am sure they will do the right thing but you Borden girls sure do have a way of reeling us poor men in." She leaned back and rolled her eyes, "Reeling you in huh." She pulled off her pajamas and then his, whispering to him seductively, "Have I hooked you yet?" He smiled, "Forever."
