Chapter Ninety-Eight
Young Love Blossoms
A/N – September is pretty hectic with all the birthdays and I thought it might be time for some fun writing about family time. I have been a little more focused on Jack's relationship with the kids. As we all know as relatives get older the time we spend with them is even more special and needs to be cherished. I plan to continue with some family stuff for the next two chapters or so focusing on the Borden Kids. You can guess what part of it will be about and since the show is horse based a little competition coverage is important. I have a good idea how the rest of the year will pan out and as I have mentioned, a little hiccup will be forthcoming. But trust me there is a whole lot more family antics and fun on the way. More and more I am getting ideas from you and I more than welcome them. As I have said, I take them all in and sometimes an offshoot results. And don't let up on telling me how you feel about my story. I love hearing from you. Mature Content Enjoy!
Relatively speaking things had settled down at the Borden's house after a really hectic few weeks. School was rolling along and the Borden kids were excelling. JT was enjoying his last year of PreK and already was anxious for Kindergarten. The teaching team asked to meet with Amy and Ty recommending that although he was young in age he was more than ready to start Kindergarten next year. Also he would continue to be with the kids he is with now, most of whom were older than him. One teacher spoke up, "Not only is his maturity level there, academically, early testing shows he is well ahead of his age scale as well." Amy and Ty, he is amazingly bright and very perceptive." Another teacher asked, "He has four older sisters correct?" Amy smiled, "Yes and also we have a young almost 16-year-old young man that we have guardianship over and lives with us. JT has bonded with him and to be honest seems more comfortable with adults than kids." She hesitated and continued. "He is also very close to my grandpa who is almost 90. They spend a lot of time together. JT is worried that he won't be here much longer and doesn't want to miss anything. It is quite amazing to watch." The team smiled as the lead teacher spoke, "Well that sure explains a lot. We commit to you that we will work with him and mid-year we can make the final decision. I have run across children like JT before and they are very special so we need to take the time to make the best decision for him." Before they ended one more teacher spoke up, "I have a question. I heard JT talking to Brey Stillman the other day about talking to deceased members of the family. Do you know anything about it?" Ty smiled, "Well we are totally aware as is most of the famliy. We have talked to a child psychologist and they are on board. JT tells us that he communicates with Amy's Mom, Marion and Grandma Lyndy. They are matriarchs of our family who have passed. He has provided very detailed messages from them to specific members of the family. Recently three of our daughters and our niece's twins had birthdays. Calmly and coolly in front of several people he told them all that they had told him to tell them happy birthday and that they loved them all. It's not the first time and we believe he has somehow connected with them." The group sat in silence and the lead confirmed, "I have read of this and if true even more of a reason to make sure we spend the time needed to help him move forward." The meeting ended and the group decided to meet every couple of months. Amy and Ty headed to the car holding hands. Amy smiled, "Well that was something, he is so amazing but I agree, JT will always need our support as well as the girls and Wyatt." The headed home quietly anxious to see the kids at dinner.
Dinner was calmer than usual especially since the partying was past but there was still active discussion on school, horses, work and the upcoming 7th grade dance for the twins. Lyndy and Wyatt were really enjoying their sophomore year and Wyatt was really looking forward to learning how to drive and his 16th birthday. Clay was going to teach him to drive and his grandma's estate would buy a car for him when needed. He had talked to Ty about it and since he was so busy Wyatt thought Clay would be more available. He did give in and tell Ty he could spot check his progress. Addie couldn't help herself and spoke up, "So Lyndy when Wyatt gets his license that will be so cool. You guys can go places and park. Just think the freedom to neck with no interruptions. You are so lucky." The startled group took a moment to gather themselves. Lyndy and Wyatt blushed heavily, Maddie and Annie giggled and JT kept eating like nothing happened. Amy and Ty couldn't help remembering their drives to go for some privacy. Amy whispered to him, "Thank god the back of Old Blue can't talk." He pinched her side as the giggled as both of them remembered the time that when she was not much older than Lyndy she became a women in the back of that truck. Amy finally recovered and looked sternly at her daughter, "Well Addabelle Amelia Borden that is none of your business and we are sure that Wyatt will be a safe driver and Lyndy will make sure that he is.." She giggled, "As far as the necking, just make sure you are stopped when you do it." Everyone laughed and smiled at the young couple. JT finally looked up and spoke, "Can I just say that all of you are weird." They all laughed and attacked his sides. Changing the conversation it was Lyndy's turn to stir the pot. "So Annie and Addie, talking about making out, are you ready for the big dance? More importantly are Desi and Jeremy ready?" Now it was their turn to blush as they just clammed up. Amy broke the silence and reminded them that she would be taking them to get their dresses this weekend and if they wanted, Lyndy and Maddie could go. They agreed and again it was time for JT to jump in, "Sweet, dad and Wyatt time for some man time. I say we go shoot some pool and have some brewskies." Amy rolled her eyes as everyone laughed, "Young man we need to keep you away from Caleb and those ranch hands." Dinner finished and they cleaned up and got ready for bed.
Amy and Ty made the rounds and spent some time with Maddie. They had both noticed that she was unusually quiet so Amy asked, "Hey sweetie, is everything Ok?" She smiled, "Yea, there are some older kids who were making fun of Gwen, Sylvia and Trudy saying that they can't ride and that the competition we are having is unfair and kind of sad. Trudy really got upset so I kind of yelled at them and made a little scene. It was all good and some of the teachers that heard them sent them to detention. Trudy was Ok but the three of us really needed to calm her down." Ty smiled, "Well we are proud that you stand up for them but make sure you control yourself. We know it is hard so just make sure you keep things calm." She smiled but it seemed that she had something else to talk about. Amy put her hand on her shoulder, "Is that it?" She took a breath, "Well there is this new boy who just moved to Hudson, that I have become friends with. He is really smart and we work on some things together. He is kind and really is great with the three of them. His name is Ronin. Mom, dad, I kind of like hanging out with him and was wondering if he could come over to ride some time." Amy smiled and hugged her, "Of course he can honey, anytime you want him too." Ty laughed, "Do I need to have a word with him?" Before they responded he raised his hands, "Just kidding." They laughed as Amy and Ty headed to their room. It had been a good day and neither of them were tired. As the door locked, Ty went after his wife hugging and kissing her playfully. As they attempted to make it to their bed, clothes were thrown everywhere. Ty had started a fire before they made their rounds so the room was toasty warm so clothes weren't needed. They fell gently on to the rug in front of the flames and began to aggressively make out and fondle each other. Amy laughed, "Kind of like the bed of your truck there lover boy." He said nothing but pulled back and gazed into her beautiful blue eyes. She looked at him startled at his intense gaze. "What Ty are you Ok." He smiled and whispered huskily, "I remember that night when we made love for the first time. I was so scared and didn't want to hurt you." She whispered back, "Ty, you were amazing and it was one of the best nights of my like. I knew I loved you but after that night I knew it was forever." He smiled and began to kiss his way down to her chest, pleasuring her as she moaned. He moved below her waist bringing her to multiple climaxes. She returned the favor taking him completely and stimulating him in a way only she could. He arched his back as she used her tongue to help his reach his peak. They went to their bed and made love into the early hours of the morning giggling like the night they first became one. As they calmed down Amy whispered, "I think we have become pretty good at this." He chuckled, "I think that was a lot better than pretty good Ames."
After a sleep in and a good breakfast all the girls headed out to go shopping. Annie and Addie were excited as the dance was in a week. The plan was to hit several of the clothes stores at the Calgary Mall and if needed head to a few others in town. Lunch was set up at a nice café on the lake and the girls were excited. They all put on comfortable dresses and walking boots. They looked cowgirl but were dressed nicely. As Ty walked them out to the SUV he was quiet and Maddie hugged him, "Not a bad looking group hey daddy?" He just smiled, hugged them all and gave Amy a longer kiss whispering in her ear. She blushed and got in the car. Immediately Addie asked, "Mom you are bushing, can you tell us what he said?" She smiled as the moved on to the road. "Well I can tell you some, he said that we were the 5 most beautiful women he has ever seen. I think he likes us a lot." Lyndy smiled, "Well momma we all love him and the two of you, good lord, I don't think I have ever seen you so close." They all smiled as Maddie jumped in, "Enough lovey-dovey stuff, let's shop!" The boys had a day planned as well. They went to pick up Jack and Tim for a trip to the fishing cabin. They had packed most of the stuff the night before and got on the road arriving late morning. They were going to fish, have some lunch, fish a little more and then head back. The plan was to meet back at Heartland for dinner that Lisa, Scott and Lou were handling. Steven, Georgie and the kids would be there too. Since Steven, Georgie, Katie, Clay and Scott had some things to cover at work the dinner was happening so everyone could see each other. Nothing kept the Bartlett, Borden, Fleming, Cardinal and Weber clans from gathering together for a family meal. It was one thing that made Jack feel good and the family privately committed to do it as much as possible for him.
The shopping trip was a success as after trying on endless dresses the decisions were made. Somehow Maddie and Lyndy also picked up a few things as well so the day was successful for all. When they went to lunch they caught the eye of many of the patrons and the staff. The five of them were dressed up and all laughing and having a great time. The waiter spoke when he approached, "Well ladies what brings you hear today?" Maddie spoke up, "We are shopping all day, my sisters need dresses for their hot dates." Annie and Addie blushed as the waiter went over the menu with them. When he got their drinks and orders he commented that several of the waiters fought over taking care of such a beautiful set of sisters. Annie laughed pointing at Amy, "Umm, she is our mom but I do think your tip just got raised." Now it was his turn to blush as they all chuckled. Amy smiled looking at his name tag and answered sarcastically, "It's alright Warren, I guess I seem too young to have 5 children. It's such a curse." Everyone laughed now as the situation was past. They had a great lunch as the manager and chef visited. Several older patrons stopped by to say hello to them mentioning how lovely they looked. The girls ate up the attention and Amy sat proudly. Fishing was better than expected. Since it was late in the season they decided to keep their catch and freeze them for a fish fry later. JT, Ty and Wyatt held their own against the two bickering elders. Ty noticed that JT was never far from Jack and watched as they talked to each other. JT was soaking in his knowledge even listening to Tim as well. Ty stood beside Wyatt and spoke up, "So, driving lessons, are you ready?" He smiled, I think so and I hope you are OK that I am doing it with Clay. You are so busy so I thought he would have more time. I do have a favor though." Ty smiled, Wyatt it is no big deal and what is the favor." He blushed, "Well after I get my license I want to take Lyndy on a date in Old Blue, can you teach me how to drive a stick? I think Lyndy would love it." He laughed, "Well you can't be any worse than her mom. I think I she burned out several clutches, she was kind of rough on the gears. But of course you can use it." He smiled and suddenly came to a realization of their night of love when Amy was just a year or so older than Lyndy. "But it will have to be in the daytime since you will be restricted." He blushed and smiled, "You don't have to be worried, Lyndy and I know what that truck means to you two. We will respect that dad." Ty smiled realizing it was the first time he call him that. Without words he placed his hand on his shoulder as a fish hit his line.
After a successful and fun day for both groups the family meat for a family dinner of fried chicken and all of the fixings. Fishing stories were told and clothes were modeled. Addie laughed as she told the lunch story when the waiter thought they were all sisters. JT bragged about his fishing prowess and how he caught more fish that Wyatt and his dad. Jack looked at him and smiled, "Now son it was not a competition we were just having fun. Although I did catch on more than your grandpa." A ruckus started and everyone laughed at the banter. Everyone approved of the dresses the girls bought although Ty had to be restrained as he felt there may have been a little too much skin for his liking. Lyndy grabbed him before he spoke, "Daddy chill they are fine and trust me, they will be modest compared to some to the other girls there. That night as Amy and Ty made their rounds they talked with the twins and both assured them that their dresses were beautiful. Even Addie gushed a bit, "Thanks, we are really excited about this dance. It will be cool to get dressed up and have fun with our friends." Amy smiled, "And those two young men. Are you a little nervous?" Annie blushed, "Mom really, we are not Lyndy and Wyatt you know. We just want to have fun and dance a lot. "Continuing to blush she whispered, "And a kiss or two on the cheek would be nice." Her sister smiled in agreement. Ty smiled and brought his two daughters into a fatherly hug. "Well your mom and I want you to enjoy yourself and just be careful. You are two independent and mature women and we are happy you are excited." Amy smiled with love as she watched them as a tear came to her eye. They were in bed and Ty noticed that Amy seemed quiet. "Hey horsey girl kind of quiet, what's up." She smiled and continued to make circles on his chest. "I'm just really happy. The kids are growing up and having new experiences. It is good and scary in some ways, but I know that they are good kids and will be safe. And Addie and Annie will always have each other's back." She hesitated and looked into his eyes, "But Ty, when you pulled them into a hug and talked to them.. well it made me so happy. You are and amazing father and I love you like crazy. And I am sure they do too." She leaned in and kissed him passionately with plans to reward him for being such a great dad and husband. It would be a while before they finally fell into a deep sleep.
It was the day of the dance and Addie and Annie were beyond excited. After a family trail ride and picnic lunch they headed back to the ranch to start getting ready. Amy, Maddie, Katie and Lyndy were on makeup, hair and dress duty. Ty, Wyatt and JT worked on cleaning up the SUV as he would be picking them up. Jeremy's dad would be taking them to dinner at Maggie's and Desi's dad would take them from Maggie's to school for the dance. Lou made sure she had a special reserved table set up nice for them to make the night special. The family was really excited for them and all told them to enjoy themselves. After longer than normal shower, the makeup and hair team got under way. Katie laughed, "You two are beautiful and will be the hottest girls there for sure." Maddie and Lyndy smiled in agreement as Amy looked at her two beautiful daughters tearfully. Annie spoke up, "Ok mom keep it together, if you keep it up I will start crying too." She smiled and hugged them, "When I look at you both I see a lot of my mom and a little of my grandma Lyndy. You are both so beautiful." Maddie broke in, "Ok enough mushy stuff, we have to get ready. The boys will be here in less than an hour and we have to get dad to approve the look." As they got ready they were laughing and giggling. As it came time to get their dresses on, Amy stepped out to get something. She returned after the girls were dressed with two small boxes. The girls all looked at her as she placed them on the vanity. "So dad and I know this is a special night so we got you something new and old." She opened the smaller box and revealed two sets of matching diamond earrings. Along with their eyes the diamonds sparkled as Katie and Lyndy put them on for them. But what she opened next took the girls breath away. There were two beautiful diamond necklaces, similar but with subtle differences. Amy smiled, "Girls these are necklaces that belonged to your Grandma Marion and Great Grandma Lyndy. We got them from GG and he wants to pass them down to you. I'll let you decided which one you each want but I promised him and many others pictures. When you are ready we will meet you in front of th fireplace." She hesitated, "Dad and I are so proud of you and love you both very much." The girls sat in silence as Lyndy, Maddie and Katie checked them over. When ready they headed down the steps.
Ty, Wyatt, Wyatt and JT were joined by Amy as the first three girls came lumbering down the steps. Maddie made the grand announcement, "Ladies and Gentlemen, the Borden Twins!" Annie and Addie walked down the stairs blushing. Ty held onto Amy barely able to keep himself together as he watched his beautiful daughters walk towards them. JT ran and hugged them as they laughed and as they approached, Ty smiled tearily and hugged them both. "You guys look beautiful." After more smiles and hugs, the four boys went to wait for their dates on the porch. Addie panicked, "What are they doing mom?" She smiled, "Don't worry, he has his orders to chill." A few minutes later JT came running in, "There here, they're here!" The girls stood up and made sure they were all primmed up. They heard a short conversation on the porch as JT opened the door followed quickly by Clay and Wyatt. As Desi and Jeremy entered they were followed by Ty and Jeremy's dad. The young men stood warily but as they saw their dates they both looked in awe. Almost simultaneously the said, "You guys look beautiful." They smile handing two nosegays for their wrist that Lyndy and Katie helped them put on. Amy broke the quiet, "You both look very handsome, I think the girls agree." Annie jumped in, "Yea, Jer, you look great and you too to Desi." Addie just shook her head as she unusually had nothing to say. Everyone joined in the comments and Amy asked them to go to the fireplace for pictures which were distributed to family right after. The first set were of each individual couples and then some of all four of them. Addie and Annie asked to have some with their parents and then their siblings. Jeremy's dad was taking several as well per instructions from his wife and Desi's mom. Finally Ty reeled everyone in and spoke, "Guys you better get on your way, Lou is waiting for you at Maggie's and she has a surprise for you." Addie blushed, "I hope she is not going overboard. I know a lot of your friends are eating there too." Maddie laughed, "Really since when does Aunt Lou do anything overboard?" Katie laughed, "You guys are toast." They all laughed and everyone escorted the two couple outside so they could get on their way. After some final hugs and handshakes they were on their way. Ty, Amy and the rest of the group stood silently and then the others left they two smiling parents alone. Amy leaned int Ty's chest, "Ty they are so, so beautiful, those two young men don't have a chance."
During the ride to Maggie's the four of them relaxed a bit. They had always gotten along well but this formal date thing was new and exciting. Desi smiled, "I wonder what your Aunt has in store, she is definitely a little crazy." Annie laughed, "Who knows, let's just hope it is not too much of a spectacle. It would be so embarrassing." Jeremy's dad, who was quiet most of the ride spoke up, "Well you guys I have known your Aunt for a long time and I know it will be special and from her heart." They quietly smiled and agreed with him. When they pulled up the boys got out and opened the door for their dates, helping them out of the SUV. The four of them thanked Jeremy's dad and he told them to have fun. When they entered, Lou came over th them for hugs and kisses, "You two look amazing and look at these two young men, so handsome. Let me take you to your table. And by the way, dinner is on me." As they walked to their table they saw that several kids from their class had tables reserved as well and all smiled and said hello. Lou maneuvered them to the corner where they found a table with a beautiful tablecloth they noticed from Heartland, place mats with silver ware and nice glasses. In the middle was a beautiful floral arrangement with two lit candles around it. Annie rolled her eyes, "Aunt Lou this is amazing, but way too much." Lou laughed grabbing both of their hands. "You are family and no it is not!" The boys held chairs for their dates and settled in. Lou said there would be no menu as the choices were already taken care of. Before they could question she continued, "I talked to your parents to get your favorite Maggie's meal. After dinner salads and a apps for all girls you will get the Borden family favorite waffles and cream and boys you each will get a Heartland beef hamburger with fries. Feel free to share if you want. And for desert a slice of Saskatoon berry pie with a scoop of ice cream." She smiled as Addie spoke up, "Aunt Lou can Annie and I share a shake as well. We want to go full Borden." Lou smiled nodding in agreement leaving them alone. The four of them had a lively conversation all excited about the evening. They visited with several of their friends as the salad and apps arrived. After their main course, their mouths watered as the pie and ice cream arrived. They weren't in a hurry and enjoyed the meal, all pretty full at the end. Addie laughed, "Aunt Lou that was really good, I am stuffed." Lou laughed, "well you will need to dance it off tonight." The four of them blushed and thanked her. Desi's dad stuck his head in the door and the boys got up to hold the girl's chairs as they headed out. Lou had taken a lot of pics and sent them to the group as soon as they left with the caption, "So Cute!"
When they arrived at school they thanked Desi's dad and headed into the gymnasium holding hands. Their mouths dropped as they entered to colorful decorations and twinkling lights everywhere. The tradition was that the eighth graders decorated and they did an amazing job. They immediately saw their group of friends and found a set of tables where they could sit together. The group of 20 more so sat down as the girls huddled together looking over each other's dresses. The boys stood behind them being boys. One of the girls spoke up, Annie and Addie those necklaces and earrings are beautiful, are they from your boyfriends?" Annie smiled, "No silly, they earrings are from our parents and the necklaces are from our GG. One belonged to our grandma and the other to our great grandma. He wanted to pass them down to us and figured this would be a good way to do it." The girls awed as a group and then talked about their dates. Bella spoke up, "Desi and Jeremy look hot you guys but I have the hottest looking date tonight," as she pulled Abby in at the waist. They had decided to come as a couple as most of the class knew they were together. For the most part everyone was supportive but they had received a little flak from some of the kids. Bella was happy being together but Abby had some concerns when some of the kids headed their way who had been making fun of them. Before they could reach the couple, Desi, Jeremy and three of the other boys intercepted them. Desi spoke confidently, "If you are here to start trouble just turn back around." One of the kids scoffed, "What you are protecting those to, they are freaks." Jeremy and another boy stepped in, "Back off, they are our friends and we take care of each other." A standoff began and a couple of the teachers, aware of the couple's relationship and interceded. One teacher pulled the troublemakers aside while the head 7th grade counselor asked Abby and Bella if they were Ok. They immediately hugged Desi, Jeremy and the other boys who stepped up. Annie and Addie hugged them as well kissing them on the cheek. Once things settled, the entire group went out to dance.
When the band took a break the girls all went to sit down to rest their feet while the guys got some snacks and drinks for the table. Addie complained, "Man my feet are killing me. I tried to get my mom to let me wear my biker boots but she said no." The girls laughed as they all said the same thing. Bella spoke up again, "Annie and Addie it was so nice that Jeremy, Desi and some of the others stepped in front of those bullies. It feels good to know they have our back." Abby added, "You need to give them an extra special kiss tonight and thank them again." The other girls oohed as she said it. Annie and Addie were the only two with boyfriends so they were really having fun with it. Annie laughed, "You know I will!" The group enjoyed the break now that the disruption was over. The teachers at the dance called the parents of the disrespectful boys and they were taken home and would be meeting tomorrow to discuss the incident in more detail. That did not deter the kids from having a great time. The music started up again and soon they were all up and dancing again. A few songs in, a couple of slow songs were played so Annie and Addie joined their dates in a little more intimate dance. Annie leaned into Jeremy and whispered, "Jer that was amazing what you and Desi did, thank you." He smiled and answered, "Well it was the right thing to do those guys are jerks and needed to be stopped." Without a warning Annie quickly kissed him on the lips startling him a little. They had kissed before but just a quick peck and nothing much. After the initial kiss they moved back and kissed again, this time a little more intense. They heard giggling as Bella and Abby were next to them. Bella whispered, "Wow you too let's keep it G-Rated." Annie and Jeremy pulled away blushing and continued their dance. Annie felt her sister's feelings and looked over at her smiling. Addie was holding Desi tightly and kissed his cheek. "You are my hero for stepping in front of those losers. It was awesome." He smiled confidently, "Well they were wrong and needed to be told that." He leaned in to kiss her and she joined him. They kissed for a while off and on as they danced, blushing and smiling a lot. Annie felt her sister's love for him and wandered over. As they danced they reached out and grasp each other's hands. Jeremy laughed and said to Desi. "Dude, they are doing that twin thing. We are toast for sure." The girls both poked them in the ribs and continued their dances.
The rest of the dance was a dream for the girls and they didn't want it to end. As they got up to leave the two boys held their chairs for them and helped with their coats. They headed out as a group and waited for their rides. Addie saw their dad first and noticed that their mom was in the passenger seat. They waved and the kids got in the car. The kids were excited and told them about the dance and the incident with Abby and Bella. Amy and Ty quietly listened and thanked the boys for their actions. Amy spoke up, "What you two did was very chivalrous and I am sure the two girls were happy you stepped in. Some people just don't have a clue." They all smiled as Desi and Jeremy really thought that the twin's parents were really nice. The first to drop off was Desi so Addie walked with him to the door. Amy noticed a quick kiss on the lips as she said goodbye and smiled. Annie walked Jeremy to his door as well with the same results. When she got back in the car the girls opened up about the dance and how wonderful it was. Amy calmed them, "Ok guys one at a time." Annie started, "Mom and dad the dance was amazing. We have such a fun group of friends and when Jeremy and Desi stepped up I almost melted. They were cool and calm as they asked them to step away. And dancing with him was a dream." Addie joined in, "Mom and dad it was one of the best nights of my life. Des, was so nice and polite but dancing with him during th slow dances was so dreamy. He is awesome and I really like him more now than ever." Amy couldn't hold back, "So how was the kisses with them." Annie blushed, "Mom, that's embarrassing but it was nice, he was so patient and kissed me when he knew I was ready. He never forced anything. It felt amazing and I hope we do it again." Addie was much more direct, "Des has the softest lips in the world. I could have kissed him all night but would have caused more of a scene for sure. We were both harassed a bit by our friends but I could care less. When we kissed all I could see was him." Amy and Ty smiled holding hands in the front seat as he spoke up, "Well we are happy you had a good time and are more that comfortable that you know your limits at 13. Enjoy this time and always be open and honest with each other. The future is what you make it." Addie laughed, "Wow Mr. Philosophical, it was just a kiss." They all laughed as they pulled up to the quiet house. Lyndy was waiting for them at the kitchen table as everyone else was asleep. After a quick rundown all of them went to bed. It would be a good night of sleep for the entire family.
