Chapter One Hundred-One
Recognition, Composure, The Bond
A/N – Definitely covered a lot in the last chapter, hope it flowed well for you and was easy to follow. The Ahmed piece was fun to do and wait until you see the Borden kids in action at the start of the chapter. I hope you agree with the way I have covered events like the Jumping Competition and Company Picnic/Rodeo. I really like to focus, not only on the involvement of the Bordens and family but the people that are impacted. People who give to others with no expectations have always impressed me. The result of the events of the day will also gain additional positive exposure for the company and some individuals. A good part of this chapter will include some great mother and daughter time also. Their relationship is strong and will continue to flourish as my story continues. It will also be an integral part of the story I am starting to write just about Lyndy Borden. I also have a lot of cool things planned for the rest of the year with great holiday celebrations, some major accomplishments and of course a little excitement, remember it is a drama. Thanks for the great feedback and story ideas, keep it coming Mature Content. Enjoy!
After few days of normalcy the family was having breakfast and Amy's phone rang. It was Lou, "Amy turn on the TV you don't want to miss it. Now in some minds it may not be normal but the Borden's didn't watch a lot of television. Amy and Ty had always focused on family time that didn't include a lot of screen time. Lyndy had gotten a cell phone when she was 15 only because they wanted to give her a way to contact them when she was out. The twins had been wanting one but Amy and Ty were steadfast in holding on a while longer. Ty turned it on along with turning the volume up. When it came out of commercial they saw their familiar Calgary Morning Show hosts whom they had met and interacted with previously, Alex and Samantha. As the story began the Miracle Ranch sign came into view. Immediately the family went to the lounge with what they could carry. Alex started the story, "Well the folks from the Heartland Equestrian Experience have done it again. Last weekend they hosted a jumping competition for kids with special needs. 14 young people had the opportunity to experience an event just for them. Let's hear from one of the parents about what this meant for her daughter." To everyone's surprise, Trudy's mom was at the studio for a live interview with Trudy there as well." Sam continued, "When we received your call we had to find out more details. The pictures behind us are scenes from the event taken by our team that was on site but we want to hear what happened from someone who was there." Trudy's mom smiled, "Well thank you for having me. I am speaking for all of the parents and children who were impacted by this spectacular program. Alex and Sam, I have never witnessed such a thing in my life. Trudy and children like her have always had difficulties at times being accepted and having the same opportunities as others. The event hosted at the Miracle Ranch was such a great time for the kids and parents. It was handled professionally and I know for a fact Trudy felt like a winner" She glanced as Trudy smiled. "In today's world we spend too much time focusing on the dramatic or bad things in the world. This was something we will never forget and want to thank all of the people who were a part of it." Alex smiled and affirmed that is was indeed a special event.
Trudy quietly interrupted, "Can I say something ma'am?" They laughed and said of course. Hesitantly she began, "Well here is the red ribbon I won, you see all of us won first place. But I want to thank my friend, Maddie Borden. This was all her idea and she talked her mom and dad into hosting it." She has always been there for me and my friends Gwen and Sylvia. We love her a lot." The Borden's sat quietly with eyes misting up. Trudy's mom asked to say one more thing. "And you know what else this amazing group of people did for us. That afternoon they were also hosting their Company Fall Picnic and Rodeo and they invited us all to stay. Of course the kids would not take no for an answer. We were treated like family because the employees are treated that way as well. Several of us are very aware of what this company does and some of us even volunteer at their Day Care Center. But to see it up front and personal took our breath away. The Board of Directors led by Lisa Stillman were so wonderful treating every employee and their families like they were part of their own. I know you have spent time with Amy and Ty Borden and their kids but that group is an example of what is right in the world and we all love them for their sincerity and kindness." As she talked the picture from event of the Bordens popped up one the screen. After a silent moment, the camera came back to the host were both visibly moved by the comments. Alex gathered herself, "Well we know this family and agree wholeheartedly. In fact Amy, Ty and the kids, I think it time for us to visit, so make sure you check your email." Sam closed out thanking Trudy and her mom for coming on the show and thanking the H.E.E for all their efforts. She closed adding, "And to you Maddie Borden, you are an amazing young lady and we can't wait to catch up." The screen went to commercial and the family sighed as one. hugs and kisses following until Ty broke the moment, "Kids mom and I are very proud of each one of you but you know what, time to get ready for the bus." They all tickled him, put their dishes away and headed out to the bus. They expected that they would be getting a lot of attention today at school.
As expected as soon as they all arrived at school they were overwhelmed with congratulations from friends, other students and the staff. Seems many of them saw the report as Trudy and several of the other moms had spread the word. Also as expected Amy and Ty were overrun with employees congratulating them about the report, continuing to express their thanks and gratitude. Amy and Ty's phone buzzed several times on the walk over to their office with text and calls. As they got settled the emails started coming in. Amy and Ty just smiled telling each other what they had received. They heard from the University leadership, local political and business leaders, as well as friends. As they got their hands around things Amy received a videocall and when she looked down she smiled and hopped onto Ty's lap. She opened the screen and there sat a smiling Justin and Maryanne Trudeau. Maryanne congratulated them telling them that they received an email from the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta along with an attached video. "We can't wait to show it to the kids tonight." Justin laughed, "You know you Bordens get me in a lot of trouble. I get some grief because I spend a little too much time in Calgary and Hudson. But I expect we will be visiting soon." The all laughed as Amy and Ty thanked them and promised a family call that night. Even with all the attention Amy, Ty and the kids had a relatively normal day. At dinner there were stories from each of them about the accolades and thanks they received. Amy told them that they would be calling the Trudeaus after dinner as they had called in the morning. Maddie sat mostly quiet and Lyndy finally asked her, "Hey Mads, what's up, you are quiet?" She smiled and seriously spoke, "I am happy that everyone was so nice in congratulating me/us but that is not why I suggested it. I did it for those kids and for nothing else." Amy smiled at her, "Well honey we know that and I think we all feel the same but the people thanking us are sincere and it is Ok to be recognized to doing something so wonderful." Maddie smiled as the rest of the kids agreed with their mom. JT was busy devouring his food and finally spoke, "Yea it was kind of cool today at school but we have to talk about something else important." He hesitated as everyone stopped to listen to him. "When are we going to see the king an tell him to get lost." The table erupted as Addie high fived him, "Soon little brother, soon."
It was the weekend before Amy and Lyndy's trip to Vancouver for the dance competition so the plans were in place for what Addie called, "Operation Smash the King." The plan was simple. Amy would text Samuel and let him know they wanted to come by on Saturday to talk about the opportunity for the girls. Once a time was set, Clay and Katie would take the kids in the big SUV to Hillside Farms. They would sit and watch and if needed would engage. Although leery about it, the kids insisted that Amy and Ty not go and that they would handle it. As planned Maddie and Annie would initiate the conversation with Addie and Lyndy at their side. Wyatt and JT would stand back a bit and stay within earshot. They discussed the approach and made the kids promise that no matter what they would be respectful. No matter what Ty and her thought about the King they still needed to handle him in case he was there. They hoped it was just Samuel but unfortunately they were confident he would show up, especially if he knows Amy is supposedly coming. Amy received a 10:00am meeting time on Saturday. The stage was set and the kids were ready. At dinner, the night before they went over the plans one more time. The kids went to bed as Amy and Ty made the rounds. Amy was brushing out her hair as Ty watched. He laughed, "So how does it feel to be the mother of such confident kids who were going to lay out a king tomorrow, it kinds of makes you hot." She sauntered over to him climbing into bed. "So you think I am hot?" She latched onto his lips with a heated kiss as he mumbled, "The hottest." They engaged in foreplay that had each of them teasing and satisfying each other. The only noise each of them made was an occasional moan or whisper of each other's name. Amy was stimulated and focused on her husband's needs, He was overwhelmed with her lips and touches all over his body. As she met his needs he also engaged in her stimulation. She arched her back as his fingers entered her intimately. She gasped as he latched onto her breast and teased her endlessly. Their lovemaking was unrestrained and focused on each other. They laid next to each other smiling with satisfaction from the love they shared. They fell into a deep and happy sleep, knowing that tomorrow a little later wake up was acceptable since it was Saturday.
As the SUV pulled away Amy and Ty stood on the porch nervously waving. Ty spoke, "Let's go on a quick ride Ames, maybe to see your mom and grandma." She smiled knowing that was exactly what they both needed. He tacked up the horses and texted Katie of their plans and to keep the posted. Katie responded with 6 smiley faces for each child and the simple words, "Got this." The ride was relatively silent outside of some idle conversation. Except for Wyatt and JT they all had been to Hillside as they approached the gate. The guard stepped up to the window as Clay said, "The Bordens to see Samuel." The guard stepped back and spoke into his walkie talkie, glanced back into the SUV and went back to the conversation. Katie grabbed Clay's arm as the guard approached again, "Very well, follow the road to the main stable, Samuel will meet you there." Katie spoke confidently, "Thanks you we know where it is." The gate opened and as they passed through, JT laughed, "Whatever, its game time." They laughed at his comment and all felt a little relief from the tension of the moment. Clay pulled up the drive and as expected a nervous Samuel stood waving them over. They pulled up and began filing out. Samuel kept looking to see Amy and Ty but when the car emptied he just saw 6 children, including Maddie and Annie who he recognized. Clay and Katie stood by the car as she called out, "Guys, Clay and I will be here if you need anything. Samuel looked confused and finally spoke, "Children, where are your parents, I expected them to be here. Immediately as the oldest Lyndy spoke, "Our parents are not coming, Annie and Maddie wanted to tell you there decision personally and we are all her to support them." He stepped back, "Well this is not appropriate, his highness will only speak to Amy Fleming, not her children. JT snapped, "Pardon me sir but our mom's name is Amy Borden and you need to address her that way." He smiled sheepishly, "Yes little one, you are correct, my mistake." Well let's go over to the stable office and you can let us know your decision, which we expect to be favorable." The king is extremely pleased that you will compete with us. He also hopes that Mrs. Borden provides some training support for the team as well since she is a renowned trainer and horsewoman." The kids simultaneously rolled their eyes but held their words, as Wyatt put his hand over JT's mouth. Katie and Clay heard the conversation and texted Amy, "They are going in the stable to meet with Samuel and guess what, I believe the king expects you to be one of the trainers, what a loser."
The kids confidentially walked behind Samuel as the entered the stable and headed to one of the meeting rooms. He offered them a seat and a water. They took the seat but refused the water. They were unified and steadfast in their approach which made Samuel a little uneasy. He realized these were not naïve and immature kids. He excused himself as he walked out of the room to make a call. Addie whispered, "He is calling him look at his face, guys we need to keep it together and let him know what we think. Remember this is for mom and dad." They all smiled, nodding in agreement. Katie and Clay decided to walk through the stables were Samuel had led the kids. They were a little uneasy having them out of sight and their concerns were verified when they saw a man flanked by 3 security guards heading their way. He bellowed, "Who are you and why are you walking around unsupervised." Clay confidently stood slightly in front of Katie and answered, "Sir, my name is Clay Foster and this is my wife Katie. We brought the Bordens here to meet with Samuel." Immediately on of the guards stepped up, "Young man you address the King as His Majesty when you respond to him." Katie smiled, "Well we are just simple county folks and don't know the proper etiquette." Ahmed continued, "So are you responsible for them while they are hear. And why isn't Amy here, she is the one I need to talk to, not a bunch of children." Katie smiled and exaggeratedly said, "Well your majesty, The kids decided they wanted to talk with Samuel about the opportunity and we are here to make sure that is done and take them back to their home. Amy and Ty will not be here." Ahmed huffed and walked away towards a waiting Samuel. They whispered some words to each other and they Security guard opened the door to the room. The five men walked in together and Clay leaned over to his wife, "This is not happening like this. Those kids are not going to be intimidated" They followed the group and entered into the room. The kids looked relieved as Samuel began the conversation.
"So, his majesty is very concerned that his friend, Amy and her husband Tom are not here. Why would she send children to do the job of an adult. This is completely inappropriate and King Ahmed is not pleased." Addie had enough, "Well sir since the king can't talk let me answer you. First our mom is not the king's friend and my dad's name is Ty, not Tom.." Annie continued, "We told our parents not to come and that we would handle it. We decided that we didn't want you to ruin things for them again like you did years ago with some misguide belief that she loved you." Everyone took a breath as Ahmed glared with anger, "How dare you speak that way to me." Maddie laughed, "So the king does talk." He continued his rant, "I will not talk to children who insult me." It was Lyndy's turn now. "But you have no problem insulting us. Our parents have taught us to be independent thinkers and we don't appreciate you talking that way to us. We deserve to be treated with respect." The king was dumbfounded as Samuel interceded. "I don't think the intention is to discount your abilities but the king demands to see Amy Fle, Borden. Maddie had enough, "Are you serious, he demands. We are not your servants and you can't demand anything from us. So here it is, we came here to tell you there is no way we would ever consider riding for you. In fact we can't wait to compete against your team and whip their butts." Ahmed look as if he was ready to explode as he screamed at his security team, "Get the car, I am going to see Amy personally to get this straightened out. She would never refuse me." JT finally spoke up, "Your highness, you can count on it and stay away from my mom and dad." Lyndy put her hand on her little brother's shoulder, "Your Majesty, Samuel, JT is right on. You have our answer and as the proud children of Amy and Ty Borden we demand that you stay away from them. We are done here and will be leaving. If you attempt to contact my mom, we will call the police for trespassing." Ahmed look at them with fire in his eyes but turned away in disgust." Samuel tried to say something and Clay stepped right in his face sternly saying, "We are leaving and would appreciate that you do not contact our family ever again." The group calmly walked into the car and loaded up. When they got in the car and couldn't help themselves, laughing hysterically. Katie hugged her husband and proclaimed, "My husband the enforcer, man that was hot." Maddie gagged, "I am going to hurl. Let's go home and let mom and dad how awesome we are.
At dinner, the story was given in detail as Katie and Clay were invited too. Ty laughed, "Lyndy, you really told him that is he comes here we will have him arrested from trespassing?" She smiled, "You bet I did. He was rude and condescending and needed to be told off. And then Clay laid Samuel out, getting in his face and telling him to never contact us again." They laughed and joked about it the rest of the night. In the end Maddie and Annie decided they really just wanted to stay with what they had now, no extra schools or teams. Amy and Ty fully supported their decision and privately were very happy about their decision. The next week word of the confrontation grew legs as everyone was talking about the Borden kids and how they stood up to a king. Clay was basking in his newfound bad boy standing and personally was being reminded a lot by his wife. They privately were considering having a baby and the action he took really turned his wife on. With that out of the way, Amy and Lyndy were ready for their trip and to say they were excited was an understatement. Amy would pick her up at school before lunch and head to the airport for a midafternoon flight. There was a welcome dinner on Friday as the event was on Saturday and Sunday. Rather than come home late Sunday, they decided to stay Monday and see parts of the city and fly home later in the afternoon. The night before they we leaving Amy and Ty made their rounds and noticed a quiet conversation between Wyatt and Lyndy. She was really going to miss him and was a little teary eyed when they came to say good night. Ty laughed, "Don't worry, I will keep an eye on him while you are gone and make sure there is no funny business." They laughed and headed to their room. As Amy came to bed, she nuzzled into his neck, "I am going to miss you too but I am really looking forward to spending time with Lyndy. She is growing up to be an amazing young woman and I know that Wyatt and her continue to get closer. When I turned 16 I knew how I felt about you and I thought you were hot." Ty smiled, "Oh just when you were 16?" She leaned into him and kissed him deeply. "When I was 16 I had thoughts of kissing you and holding you. Now I can do anything I want to you." She began to remove her nightgown as he removed his boxers. She rolled on top of him and said with a seductive conviction, "Now let me show you how much I will miss you." Their night was full of lust, love and the desire to please each other completely.
As they waited for their baggage, Amy and Lyndy texted their men. As they read the return text they both blushed as Amy whispered, "We are both so whipped." They giggled, found their bags and headed to get their rental car. Lyndy said, "How fancy, airplanes, rental cars what else is the ahead for us?" Amy smiled as they held hands dragging their heavy bags, "Man we brought a lot of stuff. We are going to have fun this weekend, are you nervous?" "Lyndy blushed, "A little but it is more of a show than a competition. Ms. Cloe, one of my instructors, said it is more an exhibition. Other schools will be here as well and we will be dancing for members of the Dancing Arts Board of Western Canada. Any proceeds will go to a foundation that provides scholarships for kids who can't afford dance lessons." Amy smiled making a note to ask the Board for a donation from the company in Lyndy's name. As they got to the car they loaded up, set the GPS and headed to the hotel where the recital was being held. It was right in the middle of a popular section of the city so they definitely could walk to a lot of restaurants and other activities. Amy noticed Lyndy gazing out the window quietly and smiled at her beautiful daughter. She broke the silence, "What's on your mind girlie?" She soke softly, "It's just so different that home but it is beautiful. I kind of miss home and Wyatt." Amy laughed, "I remember when dad told me that he was moving to the trailer. At that point I saw him every day and the thought of him living somewhere else devastated me." Lyndy looked at her, "How did you handle it?" Amy blushed a little answering, "Well your dad said something that at the time I didn't really believe but it was true. He told me that being apart will bring us closer together and he was right. It was a big spark to our relationship and actually made us each stronger." Winking at her daughter she added giggling, "And him having his own place had other benefits, if you know what I mean." Lyndy opened her eyes widely, "Mom, way too much detail for your daughter. But that is kind of cool." They drove a little while longer when Amy said they were 10 minutes away. Lyndy looked at her as her daughter. "Mom how has the love you and dad for each other grown over the years. You too are so cute together and everyone sees the depth of your love for each other. I kind of want that too." Pulling into the hotel drive up Amy smiled. "Let's get checked in, unpack and go for a walk before the welcome dinner so I can answer your question.
The room was amazing with views of the city, two queen size beds, a huge bathroom and even a little kitchenette. Amy and Ty had decided to upgrade for their weekend so it would be special for their daughter. When they walked in they were surprised to see a large bouquet of roses and a tray of assorted chocolates. There were separated notes from Wyatt and Ty that each of the read privately, blushing and misting up a bit. They decided to not share with the other as the notes were personal. They did hug and after freshening up and getting dressed for the dinner they headed out. They laughed and giggled as they walked to a nearby park to sit and watch the city activity. Immediately they decided this was their favorite spot. Amy hesitated and began to give her anxious daughter her answer. "Well I promised an answer so here it goes. I first knew I kind of loved your dad when he built the practice course for me and Spartan. I was just a little older than you but much more naïve, but I felt something. He was obviously cute but I saw more than that. In spite of his life to that point I saw he was caring and kind but had little love for himself. We became friends, he left after the best kiss ever, came back and we danced around for a while until we decided to profess our love. Did I say he was a great kisser?" Lyndy blushed, "Really Mom, the answer please." Amy laughed, "Ok well over those early years we both had a lot of things to figure personally and it strained our relationship. But when we helped Lou deliver Katie something changed. We knew at that point that we were a great team. I still remember when we were with the family and your dad brought me a coffee. We grabbed each other's hand and it felt amazing. I really think at that point we both knew we were meant to be together forever." She took a breath remembering the moment and Lyndy pulled her into a hug. "For the next few years, our love grew along with our personal confidence. I was busy growing my business and dad was in school. Three were a few hiccups like the stupid Prince but we weathered them and grew closer and closer. Ever since we met at the gazebo to reconnect our love it has been an amazing ride. Lyndy, I love your father more and more each day. When you love someone everything else around you disappears. Our love grows because of a few important things. First you guys are everything to us. Watching you guys grow up makes us so proud and happy to have you as a part of us. Also being able to work together was always our dream and we live it every day. But I think the most important thing is that our hearts are one. When we were married we pledged that our hearts would belong to the other and we have kept that pledge. Lyndy I love your dad so much and will forever. It is bond we will always have."
They sat for a moment longer looking at the happenings around them. Finally Amy spoke, holding onto her oldest daughter's hands. "Honey, I am very lucky to have your dad and all of your to love. Love will come to you, maybe with Wyatt and maybe not. But I will say that when you both look at each other I see what I saw with your dad and I. Just take the time to develop your relationship and be honest and open with each other." She smiled as she kissed her daughter's cheek, "Now we better get going, I can't wait to meet your teachers and friends and I am starving, I hope some chocolates are left." The giggled and headed back to the hotel to get ready. When they were ready they headed down to the pre-dinner reception. Immediately Lyndy saw several of her classmates and headed over to them. Parents and children introduced each other and many fathers were there as well. One of her classmate's mothers asked, "Amy was your husband not able to make it?" She smiled, "Well we kind of wanted a mother/daughter weekend. It is kind of hectic at home. I have four other children and we also have guardianship of another young man who lives with us." Lyndy's friend giggled, "Yea, Lyndy's boyfriend lives with her in the room right next door. Talk about a sweet deal right Linny." She blushed and said, "Well it is kind of nice but we are respectful of our parents and family and trust me if we tried to do anything my little sister Maddie and brother would be all over it." Everyone laughed as a number of the teachers headed over to the group of parents and students. As the approached, one of the father's realized what Amy had said, "Wait you and your husband have 5 children and an additional young man. That is unbelievable." Amy smiled, "Ty and I are very blessed to have four girls and one son. And to be honest, we consider Wyatt as one of our own. His parents died when he was young and his grandma, who was raising him, just passed. He is a wonderful young man and our little boy and my husband like the added male support in our house of women." They all laughed as everyone was called into dinner.
The dining hall was set up by school and school insignias adorned the tables. The Director of the Board welcomed everyone and thanked them for coming. He thanked the students and parents for their commitment to the dancing arts. He briefly talked through the events of the weekend and how the real winner was the foundation that they were going to support, sponsoring young people who couldn't afford dance lessons. Amy whispered to Lyndy, "Honey I just wanted to let you know I spoke to Lisa and Lou and our company will be giving a donation in your name as well." She smiled and hugged her mom tightly. After the welcoming remarks were finished dinner was served. There was a video shown with all of the schools being represented with some of their past performances. The girls would giggle every time they would come on the screen as the parents and teachers gloated. Dinner was lighthearted and fun and after a band was there in case anyone wanted to dance. As the event came to a close, a very tired Amy and Lyndy said their goodbyes and headed up to their room. They got ready for bed and made quick calls privately to Wyatt and Ty. As they laid in their beds Lyndy came over, "Can I snuggle with you for a second." Amy welcomed her little girl smiling as they hugged each other. "Lyndy you are a beautiful young lady and don't worry too much about finding love. I think you are pretty close and Wyatt is a special young man. Just be patient and respectful of each other." Lyndy kissed her mom and went back to her bed, "I hear you are the world's worst bed hogger so I will hang out in my bed this weekend." Amy threw a pillow at her and answered, "Whatever. I love you Lyndy, good night." Love you to mama and thanks for this weekend. I am really looking forward to some mother/daughter time." They both new they would fall asleep quickly as Amy snuck a good night text to Ty. Lyndy looked over, "Really mom, you two are too much."
The two days of the recital were amazing and Amy saw first-hand how much Lyndy's skills had improved. Several of the instructors talked to her privately about how advanced she had become and how dedicated she was to dance. The school administrator thanked her for the donation that was received by the foundation in the name of Lyndy and the Goddard School. Amy sat with many of the parents watching their children perform and some bonds were formed. It was a whirlwind of activity. On Saturday night Goddard hosted a dinner for the kids and families. It was a fun time as everyone enjoyed each other's company. The location was overlooking the ocean and the view was spectacular. During a short speech, the head of the school said the dinner was provided by the alumni association. She also mentioned that several donations and been made from parents and shared them. Each supporter was recognized, asked to stand and the crown applauded. The program was set to end at 3:00 the next day so most of the folks could head home. Overall the event and other donations raised almost $200,000 for the foundation and the Director of the Board was extremely pleased. Amy and Lyndy said their goodbyes and when they got into the room Amy had a surprise, "Well your dad booked a Harbor Dinner Cruise for us and we leave in an hour and a half." Lyndy was so happy and they immediately video called him and spoke to the rest of the family. Ty was happy that they were having so much fun and everyone told them to enjoy the dinner cruise. They had so much fun feasting on a variety of seafood and enjoying amazing views. Lyndy was a little worried about being seasick but the boat was rather large and she didn't even feel the waves. When they got back to the room they sat at the window looking out at nighttime in Vancouver. Lyndy yawned and smiled at her mom, "This has been amazing mom but most of all I loved being with you. I love you so much, and dad to. And I guess my sisters and brother too." Amy blushed, "And Wyatt?" "Mom, I really love him, so much it hurts sometimes, in a good way."
The next day consisted of some shopping and lunch at Butchart Gardens. The short flight home was on time and the hurried home to see their family. As they pulled up to the house, JT sprinted to them jumping in his mom's arms. Welcome home you guys, was it fun? And Lyndy, I kept my eyes on your man, he behaved." Ty and Wyatt approached and hugged their girls and with JT's help took their bags. The rest of the girls huddled around them asking lots of questions. The Borden women were a site and were giggling and laughing as they walked in the house. Ty and Wyatt had BBQ'd and the girls made some sides. Maddie even cooked two Saskatoon Berry Pies. The family enjoyed a fun dinner and everyone was happy they were back. The kids went out to settle the horses for the night as Amy and Ty joined them to see Triumph and Blaze. After that was done the family retreated to the house for pie and ice cream and headed off to get ready for bed. Amy and Ty made their round as the kids, especially Lyndy were tired. Lyndy again thanked her mom and dad for the trip and hugged them both very tightly and a little longer than normal. As Ty and Amy got into bed he had to ask, "What was that about, Lyndy didn't want to let me go." Amy smiled, well she asked me how our love has grown to be so strong. She wants to have that same kind of love in her life. Ty she is so mature and intuitive. We had the best time this weekend." She hesitated, "Ty are the rest of the kids Ok with it just being Lyndy and I?" He smiled and pulled her into a hug. "Amy Borden, our children have no doubts at all that their mother loves each of them completely. You are the most amazing mother and wife a family could have. They were excited about your trip and not one of them seemed shorted." She sighed and leaned into him for a kiss, "how about you, did you miss me." He spoke to her softly, "More that you could imagine, my love." They made up for being apart loving each other into the night.
