Chapter One Hundred-Fifteen
A Heartland Christmas
A/N – I have received some positive feedback about the return of Mallory and although the reason is not the best she is home and I expect for good. This idea came to me when I heard she was making an appearance in the new season. As many of you know I no longer watch the episodes after 13-10 since for me that is the end of the show and is why I have been writing this story. But I did hear she was back so I thought I would do the same. I hope you enjoy the additions and as you have seen already, the Bordens have been all in helping her and her son assimilate back into the family. Well time has come for another Christmas. The plan is to focus on our favorite family and some other family members. Should be able to get it into one chapter because coming up we had New Years, Soraya and her family arriving and of course our favorite little boys 4th birthday. I have had some question the level of maturity he has for a young age but I can tell you, we have a youngster in our family that is exactly the same as JT so I have some good references to emulate. Look for a couple of big announcements coming our way as well. It should be fun and please keep me in line and provide your feedback. Welcome the Holidays. Enjoy!
The Borden family and their two guests arrived home late afternoon with leftovers that they planned to graze on that evening. After the horses were settled for the night and pajamas were put on the evening would be spent relaxing and enjoying each other's company. Everything was always so hectic, so Amy and Ty loved the time just to sit with their kids, play some games and maybe sing a few Christmas carols. Ty spoke up, "With the voices Mom and Lyndy have I say some Christmas carols are in order." They all agreed and sat around and followed the lead of their mother and oldest sister. After the first couple Maddie of course had to comment, "Dad and Wyatt, maybe you should sing a little softer than the rest of us and Aunt Mallory you have a beautiful voice." They all laughed in agreement. Trent and JT sat with their moms with their eyes wide open enjoying the time and more importantly thinking about Santa. Annie laughed, "Trent and JT we can't forget to leave some milk and cookies out so Santa can have a snack." They smiled in agreement and then Trent said, "We should leave some oats for the reindeer too." Addie laughed, "That is an awesome idea and a new tradition we should start. They need to keep up their energy since they have so much to do tonight." He smiled happy his idea went over well. Mallory sat silent trying to keep herself under control as she watch her son, who only a few days ago was told he may not come. Amy looked at her with a warm smile, and as JT went to his dad, she sat next to her leaning her head into hers. Trent smiled at them, "Aunt Amy I am so glad we came here." She smiled, "Well we are too. What do you like the most so far?" He thought for a moment, "Well the horses are cool, I have a new best friend, everyone has been nice to us, my mom is smiling but most of all, Santa actually comes to your house." The room went deadly silent as they all sat in awe of what he said. Somehow they composed themselves and a stoic Ty pokes up, "Well you two little guys, if you want Santa to show up you need to get to sleep." Trent spoke with alarm, "Mommy what about the story?" Mallory laughed, "Well everyone every Christmas Eve, I tell Trent the "Night Before Christmas story, it's kind of like our tradition. Do you all want to hear it?" The all smiled and shook their heads in agreement. "Ok, Trent will you help me with the last line?" He smiled and snuggled into her. Mallory began telling the story as everyone listened.
'Twas the night before Christmas when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.
Then what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his reindeers all came,
So up to the house-top, the reindeer soon flew,
With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.
Down the chimney, he came with a leap and bound.
He was dressed all in fur, his belly was round,
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose
But I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight,
And then she looked at Trent as they both said
Happy Christmas To All, And To All A Good Night!
Everyone applauded and hugged them both tightly. Lyndy and Wyatt took the two little guys to bed as the rest sat contently as happy as they could be. Amy reminded everyone that they would have a family morning of breakfast and gifts, then take care of the horses, hang out and that they needed to be at Heartland for the family only Christmas right after lunchtime. Before she could say something Amy looked at Mallory, "And you are family." Once Lyndy and Wyatt came back the kids brought down the presents they had and went to their rooms to get ready for bed. Then Ty and Amy, with Mallory's help brought out the kids presents. After they finished, Amy whispered, "Mallory that was beautiful, thanks for sharing it with us." All she could do was smile and hugged both of them tightly, heading off to bed. After they saw she was settled, Wyatt and Lyndy snuck down and the four of them added the presents for Mallory and Trent. Amy and Ty shuffled them off with one last hug and headed up to their bedroom. As they passed each room they noticed everyone was pretty much down for the count, except Lyndy who looked up at them and smiled. They went in and she spoke softly, "Mom and Dad what you are doing for them is the best present you have ever given any of us. When I look at Mallory, I just can't help but be a little sad about what she had to endure in her life. It's just not fair and I just wished we could have helped her sooner. And to see the sparkle in Trent's eyes, I have never felt anything so amazing. I love our family and you guys so much, thank you." They smiled and hugged her tightly as Ty joked, "Now get to sleep so Santa can come." She giggled and snuggled under her covers. Amy and Ty went right to bed. It had been an emotional few days but tonight made it all worth it. They kissed each other deeply saying I love you as they fell asleep in each other's arms.
It was evident, early the next morning, that two little boys had escaped their room a little earlier than usual. Amy and Ty listened as the boys were scampering around whispering and giggling in excitement. They heard a door open and a whispering Wyatt, "Hey guys, its way to early, come in my room and let's hang out for a while. Everyone else is still sleeping." Trent pleaded, "But Wyatt we want to see if he came." Wyatt whispered, "Ok, take my hands and we will look from the steps." After a few minutes, they listened intently as they heard two small shrieks of excitement. Wyatt shushed them and they came back down the hall and into his room. Ty leaned over, "Wow that was amazing. Wyatt is so great and we are lucky to have him with us." Amy smiled and yawned, "I know, I love him so much and I love you." She closed her eyes and was asleep in seconds. A while later Amy stirred and looked at her husband noticing he had his eyes opened and seemed somewhere else. Immediately alarms went off and she sat up to look at him. He smiled weakly and she nuzzled into his neck, "Ty what's wrong." He took a breath, "I was just thinking a little too much and listening to the muffled laughs coming from Wyatt's room." Not believing him she got right in front of his face and whispered, "And.." He smiled again, "You know me too well, Mrs. Borden, I was thinking about Mallory and my dad and how he did to me what Jake did to her. I remember how devastating it was and how I had no one to go to. I am so happy that she decided to come to us for help. I know how hard that was for her. To have someone you thought loved you abandon you." He tailed off a bit and began to get more emotional. She hugged him tighter as he continued, "But then I look at you, here with me. And I look at the kids, Wyatt and the family and how lucky I am. I count my blessings every day and I love you so much." He responded to her with a kiss and it soon became a bit more passionate. Before they were able to continue on there was a knock on the door from two little sets of hands. They gathered themselves and Amy giggling, buttoned up her top and answered, "Yes, come in." Two little boys bolted in the room jumping on the bed. JT screamed with glee, "Mommy, Daddy, Santa came. There are presents, the milk and cookies are gone, even the reindeer food. Are you coming down soon?" Amy smiled at them, "We will be down in a few minutes boys." Satisfied they scampered off the bed and went to tell everyone else. Amy looked into her favorite set of emerald, green eyes and whispered, "Merry Christmas my love." As they kissed again they heard a huff from their partially opened door. "Mallory chuckled and before she closed the door she said, "You two never changed."
As they walked down the steps Amy and Ty saw kids buzzing around the tree as Mallory sat and watched while drinking her coffee. She motioned to the two cups she had made for them that they sat with her. Amy laughed, Merry Christmas kids and Mallory. The kids all came over to kiss and hug their parents as Trent jumped onto his mom's lap overly excited, "Mommy, Santa left gifts for me and you too. How did he know we are here." JT giggled, "He knows everything buddy." The boys laughed and ran back to the tree with Wyatt in tow. Lyndy spoke for the girls, "We are going to take care of the horses and them we got breakfast." Amy went to protest but Maddie interrupted her, "You three don't move and keep an eye on those three, they may try to open presents early." Wyatt looked over and stuck his tongue out at her, laughing." A while later the extended family sat and enjoyed breakfast early. Ty did give in and let the boys open one present, Trent got a cowboy hat and JT got a brand-new set of flies. At the table Mallory laughed as JT was explaining the intricacies of fishing to his new friend. Mallory spoke to the girls, "This is great you guys, reminds me of my cooking prowess when I lived at Heartland." Annie looked at her, "You lived there." She laughed, "Well not officially, but I was kind of there all the time. My parents were always on the road with my dad's band and I hated going." Addie laughed, "Was that when you had the hots for my dad?" Ty puffed his chest out, "Well who can blame her, I mean your friends think I am hot?" Amy poked his ribs, "Whatever, but Mallory's crush was kind of cute, especially when she was leaving and jumped up and kissed him on the lips." Trent's eyes opened in concern, "Mommy, why would you like Mr. Borden, he is married?" Mallory looked at her disheveled son, "Sweetie, I was twelve and at the time he wasn't married to Amy, in fact I think they were on one of the ridiculous breakups." Lyndy's now got engaged in the conversation, "My god mom how many times did you guys breakup?" Ty and Amy blushed as he spoke, "A discussion for later or maybe never." Maddie had a revelation and looked at Mallory, "Man I am so glad you guys are hear. I can't wait to hear all of the gory details of the life of Amy and Ty. All the dirt and secret stuff." Mallory smiled, "Oh trust me I could tell you some things for sure." JT was quietly getting angry and Wyatt noticed right away. JT couldn't hold back anymore, 'Stop it. Stop making fun of mom and dad and how they used to break up. They love each other now and it makes me happy so please don't make fun of them." He was having trouble catching his breath and showed signs of an episode. Wyatt took over and carried him to his room to regroup taking Trent too for support smiling at Maddie, "We got this, no worries."
As they left Maddie and the rest of the girls broke into tears. Maddie looked through her misty eyes and mumbled, "Mommy, I am so sorry, I am so dumb sometimes. I hope he is Ok." As the four girls held each other their parents came to console them. Mallory watched over the scene realizing that this family was something special. She spoke up, "Girls, everything will be fine, JT just seems to be a be a very perceptive and passionate little boy. I bet Wyatt will get him to understand." Amy continued, "Lets clean up from breakfast and get ready for them to come back, Lyndy can you peak in and see how they are doing." After she came back she gave a thumbs up and whispered, "10 minutes." As the three of them came back down the girls held their breath. JT jumped into his mom's lap and hugged her saying "Sorry, I need to get better at that." He then looked at the girls. "I am sorry for losing my cool, I know you were all joking around. I have to take a breath and just calm down sometimes." They all hugged as Trent yelled out, "It's time to open presents!" As they moved to the living room, Wyatt grabbed Amy and Ty who were walking with Mallory, "I thought you should know, he did have a slight episode but we were able get him back quick. Mallory, Trent was a big help but I do think you guys need to talk to him about JT's condition, he was a little confused but was amazing with him." As they went into the room present distribution was underway. Maddie had given very specific present opening instructions so the fun began with JT and Trent going first. As each present was opened, shrieks and thanks yous followed. Trent got a pair of cowboy boot to go with his hat and a new fishing rod. He also got a lot of clothes and a couple of toys he had asked Santa for. JT also got a lot of things he wanted and really liked his new cowboy hat too. He laughed, "Look Trent we are real cowboys now!" They put their hats on prancing around the room. Wyatt and the girls loved all their presents too. The girls all got a lot of clothes and some of them had their dad raising his eyebrow. Mallory smacked him, "Chill old man you have beautiful daughter so they should flaunt it a little." He rolled his eyes, "Who said it was good to have her here?" Everyone laughed. Wyatt got a lot of things for his truck and her and Lyndy and him got some Gift Cards for movies and places to eat. Maddie spoke up, "It's time for Date night!" Again they all laughed. Mallory was overwhelmed but the gifts she got. She opened a lot of clothes, some perfume but the most amazing one was from her son, bought by Amy and Ty. He knew what it was and bought it to her. When she opened it she gasped, "It was a beautiful bracelet with the word Mommy in the middle. She was unable to talk as she hugged him mouthing tank you to Amy and Ty. It was a great morning for everyone.
As planned several of the girls friends came over to exchange gifts before they headed over to Heartland. Amy and Mallory had made some extra cookies and laid them out on the table as they all talked. Trent and JT were completely engrossed in their gifts but eventually Ty and Wyatt, were able to get them to settle down in their bedroom and rest a little. The two of them went out to the barn to get night feed ready early as a couple of the ranch hands who lived in the bunk house offered to make sure the horses were taken care of. When they returned they loaded up the big SUV and Wyatt's truck. As they moved in and out of the house they smiled watching the kids and their friends. Ty smiled at Amy as her and Mallory had joined in on the fun. She mouthed I loved you as Mallory looked over and smacked her, "My god stop it." Maddie held her arm, "Give it up Mallory, there is no chance they will stop." The friends all left to hugs and the ladies all went to get dressed. They had decided to get a little more dressed up this year so nice winter dresses and dress boots were the theme. As they all got ready JT and Trent sat with Ty. JT spoke to his friend seriously, "Now make sure you tell each of them how nice they look. Us guys can just wear jeans and a nice shirt but for women it is very different, you know the hair and makeup thing. So we need to tell them each they look beautiful." Wyatt walked down as the conversation ended high fiving JT, "You got that right buddy." Trent shook his head understanding what he had to do. As the girls came down JT and Trent made the appropriate comments to each of the women as Trent noted how amazing his mom looked. Amy noticed a new locket on Lyndy's neck and whispered in her ear, "Is that what Wyatt gave you?" She blushed giving her the answer. Amy smiled putting her hand on her chest, remembering the amazing gift Ty had given her as well. Ty smiled and spoke up, "Ok everyone it is time for this good-looking group to head over to Heartland to see all of the family." Trent added, "You sure do have a lot of parties." JT laughed putting his arm around his new best friend, "You ain't seen nothin yet!" They all laughed walking out the door.
Heartland was already abuzz when the Miracle Ranch group showed up. JT and Trent immediately ran to Jack and Tim with their cowboys hats and to talk about their fishing stuff they got. Mallory and Amy went to the kitchen to drop off their food items and see if anything was needed. Mallory laughed as a frantic Lou was scurrying about. She laughed, "Well some things never changed." Maddie introduced Mallory to Casey, Cass, Will and Bethany whom she hadn't meat yet. She took Casey's hand and sympathetically said, "Bless you for marrying Tim, he is a handful. I could tell you some things." From across the room her get a response, "Hey, I heard that." They all giggled and carried on. The day would be relaxed as just the family and some almost family members were in attendance. The O'Dell's, the Master's and Stillman's, with children were there as well. Everyone got their chance to hang with the kids, especially Rosey, Beau and little Nate. Today was all about the kids and there were plenty. Lou and Amy were having some tea with Mallory watching over the activities. Lou whispered, "Look at that, Katie and Clay are all over the little ones again." Amy smiled and Mallory in her blunt fashion spoke up, "Hello Lou, it's obvious that she is pregnant, can't you see that." Lou smiled warmly realizing that she was right but spoke directly, "Don't say anything, when they are ready they will tell us." Amy laughed at the two of them seeing they were both still the same. Right before it was time to eat, Jack got everyone's attention. "Everybody, as you know this is what I live for the most, famliy. Lisa and I are so please that all of you are with us, especially our newest family members." He motioned over to Mallory and a smiling Trent. "We are very fortunate as a family and have many blessings. But we also have challenges and as always handle them as a family." He reached for JT who sat in his lap. "I expect that those who are no longer with us are looking down with big smiles on their faces to see the legacy of the Bartlett, Fleming, Borden, Morris and Cardinal family have built. I want to toast to all of you to what we have accomplished and what we will do with our very bright future. To Family!" Everyone joined in the toast and even Beau made a cute baby noise in agreement. Everyone laughed and carried on with the party. Ty came over to a sullen Jack with a beer. "Jack that was a great toast, you still have it old man. But I wanted to tell you again what you mean to me. Even when you were yelling at me I always knew you loved and accepted me and I thank you for that." Amy watched the interaction as a tear came to her eye. She glanced at Ty and smiled with a deep love for the most important men in her life.
The party continued as some gifts were given to the kids from Jack, Lisa, Tim and Casey as well as an absent Max and Lilly. They weren't much but the kids loved them and thanked them over and over. As dinner was about to be served, Jack again got everyone's attention. "Ok everyone before we enjoy this amazing food that has been prepared, I have one more thing to discuss. After talking with Lisa, Lou and Amy we have made a decision about someone in our family. It is customary that every new family member gets a stone on the fireplace that my great-great-great grandpa built after the biggest storm we had ever seen. So from that point forward the tradition started and since then everyone, even Tim has a stone, after he complained." Everyone laughed and Casey held him back from adding a smart comment. "Anyway recently we added a new member to our family, more specifically the Borden family. So Wyatt it is time for you to pick a stone." Wyatt was overwhelmed as everyone applauded and Ty, who didn't know, came over to give him a fatherly hug. Tears were everywhere, especially from Lyndy, Amy the Borden girls. JT was so excited for his best buddy as he received handshakes, hugs and kisses on his cheek. Lyndy grabbed his arm never wanting to let go smiling broadly with a look of complete love in her eyes. She looked at her GG and ran to him hugging him tightly and whispered in his ear, "Thank you GG this is the best present ever." As they group settled, Lyndy led him to the fireplace telling him where her mom, dad and sibling's stones were. Maddie joked, "Come on Wyatt and to be honest you would have gotten one anyway when you and Lyndy get hitched." The crowd erupted in laughter as Lyndy looked at her little sister blushing wildly. He picked a stone between Lyndy and JT and Jack spoke proudly, "Great this is Wyatt's stone. Welcome to the family." Accolades continued until Lou announced, "The feast is ready, enjoy our family meal and Merry Christmas." Katie, Clay, Lyndy and Wyatt offered to hold the little ones while their parents ate. Amy noticed that Katie was whispering to Lyndy and when she did, her eyes shot open and she hugged her cousin tightly. Wyatt patted Clay on his shoulder smiling and whispering to him as well. She looked at Mallory who was in a heated conversation with Caleb and Ben about something that happened long ago. She caught her attention and motioned over to the four young adults actions. Mallory, smiled and shook her head, mouthing, "Told you," Amy put her finger to her lips reminding her to keep quiet. She smiled realizing another announcement may be coming soon.
The family broke out into groups filling the ranch house and the extended deck that was warm and toasty with the walls dropped and heaters on. The kids finished first and began playing with their new toys. Ben, Caleb, Will, Clay and Wyatt took all the younger kids out to the barn to feed the horses and give the mothers some free time. Maddie joined them too. Steven, Ty and Scott were huddled together talking business until their wives came over and stifled their conversation. Lyndy and Katie continued to swoon over th three babies while Addie and Annie hung with their mom and aunts. As everyone finished, the Borden girls, Mallory and Katie cleaned up allowing the rest of the women to chat and mingle. After a half hour the barn group stormed back in the house and Trent ran to his mom excited, "Mommy I got to pick up horse poop, it was fun." She rolled her eyes as Ty picked him up, "Your mommy used to love to do that too." Everyone laughed and Mallory looked sternly at him, "Well I really didn't but Jack would make sure I did it all the time for Copper." Again everyone chuckled and the group settled in continuing to talk and laugh. Jack pulled out his guitar and began playing some Christmas songs. The folks around him listened and then he looked at Amy and spoke, "Amy, I think it's time for you and Lyndy to sing for us, right everybody?" Everyone agreed and pulled chairs in the room around d the fireplace. Amy grabbed her daughter and they began to sing songs as Jack played the guitar. They were surprised when Bethany went to the piano and joined in. They knew she could play but not as well as she did. The entire family joined in as the kids quietly sat with their parents or whoever singing what they could. Amy and Lyndy's voices were angelic as the would sing the lyrics and have the group join in for different parts. Then the surprised everyone as they sang some of Lyndy's songs, bringing tears to those who remembered them. Once they were finished, it was time for desert as cakes, pies and ice cream were dished out. The family was calming a bit as they enjoyed the deserts with coffees and hot chocolates. As things calmed a bit a nervous Clay and Katie stood and got everyone's attention. Lou, Amy and Mallory sat on the edge of their seats as Katie began to speak. She stood for a second after everyone settled to listen to her. Well since we had the chance to welcome Wyatt as a new family member we thought that it would be a great time to tell you all this." The both undid their hoodies, Katie's said Baby on Board with and arrow pointing down and Clays said the same with the arrow pointing to Katie's stomach.
Clay yelled, We're Pregnant!" The group exploded in applause and congratulations. Several of the mothers took a moment to explain what was up to the younger kids and when they realized what was happening, they ran to the couple to hug and kiss them. Lyndy, Wyatt and the other Borden kids were beside themselves with joy. Amy hugged Lou and Georgie tightly as Ty high fived Scott, Steven and went to hug Jack. The crowd was overwhelmed with the news as everyone was beyond excited for th young couple. Even Tim was teary eyes and laughed with Lisa and Casy, "Thank god we have a day care." Amy and Ty hugged tightly and kissed each other in celebration. He whispered, "You knew didn't you about this and Wyatt didn't you." She laughed in his embrace, "Well I did know about Wyatt and kind of guessed with Mallory about Katie. Mallory had it pegged for sure." They both smiled and noticed that both Clay and Katie were gleaming with joy in each other's arms. But they also noticed that Katie was holding Lyndy's hand tightly as everyone congratulated her. Amy whispered, "Look at those two, they are so close. You know one day our daughter will be announcing the same thing." Ty froze and looked fearfully in her eyes. Before he could even speak she looked directly in his eyes, "One day Ty, not tomorrow." His shoulders relaxed and they kissed again with a little more intensity. Mallory and Maddie stood next to them huffing, Maddie spoke up, "Hello, this is their announcement and exciting for them. You two need to focus." Ty smiled gazing at his wife, "We are focusing." Katie had been absconded by all the mothers and was being barraged with questions. The fathers grabbed Clay and began telling him how things would change and for the most part threatening him to make sure it was a boy. Everyone continued to buzz around them and soon several of the families started to leave with tired children. Amy, Ty and the girls helped clean up while Wyatt, Lyndy and Mallory took the two little guys home as they were fading fast. Amy, Lou and Lisa had another hug with Katie as Clay watched with love. He knew how excited she was and how challenging it had been to get pregnant. He was excited and nervous at the same time. The rest of the Bordens loaded up for the drive home. The Borden girls were still reeling with excitement as the chatted about the baby news and how cool it was that Wyatt got a stone. Addie looked to her dad, "Daddy is he our brother, now?" He smiled, "Well mom and I have complete guardianship rights until he turns 18. If he wants us to adopt him we will but to be honest, you can still consider him your brother. Although maybe not Lyndy's, that might be kind of weird." They laughed as Annie commented, "Kind if gross dad, way to ruin the moment." They laughed as they arrived and headed into the house.
The girls went to their rooms to drop off their stuff as Amy and Ty found Mallory, Wyatt and Lyndy sitting by the fire. Lyndy laughed, "Oh my god those two collapsed when we got home. They may sleep until noon tomorrow!" Mallory and Wyatt smiled in agreement while taking a sip of their coffee. She spoke up, "Man, what an amazing day, my man Wyatt gets a stone and our little Katie is having a baby. I practically raised her during her early years." Annie, Addie and Maddie came down to say good night and after a round of hugs, kisses and congrats to their bro the headed to bed. Mallory was soon to follow and Wyatt right after. Lyndy sat a little while longer with her parents. Amy asked her, "So how long have you known?" She smiled bashfully "Actually I went to get the test with her and sat and waited for the result. Mom and dad, they have been trying for a while and she was so nervous. She wanted to wait to tell Clay until she knew for sure." When it was positive we both broke into tears like slobbering idiots. It was cool." She hesitated, starting to choke up "But I wanted to tell you alone how wonderful it was that Wyatt got a stone. He has had such a sucky life and to be accepted into our family, well it means so much to him and to me. Mom and dad I am confident that I love him and want to be with him. I know we are young but he is such an amazing guy I can't picture a future without him." They smiled as she looked directly at her dad, "Daddy he is so much like you and wants to be like you. We talk about it all the time. Thank you both for loving him and letting him be a part of our family."
Amy and Ty hugged their daughter tightly and headed off to check on the others and then to bed. As expected, JT and Trent were out cold, Maddie had also succumbed to sleep and the twins were talking quietly to each other. They went in and they both said that is was an amazing day, one they would remember for a while. They were excited because they had plans with Desi, Jeremy, Bella and Maya for a trip to the mall and a movie tomorrow. Ty and Amy hugged them and said good night. They did a final check on Lyndy and found her reading. "Wyatt doing Ok?" She smiled, "Yea, he just went to bed. Seems the two little guys wore him out and I think he is emotionally drained after getting his stone. Mom, seeing him so happy is amazing." They smiled as Ty kissed her on the forehead goodnight, realizing that Amy needed some alone time with her. Amy smiled at her oldest daughter, "You know what you did for Katie was wonderful. She has had an up and down relationship with her dad and even Lou. Your dad and I have always made sure we have been there for her. But what you did was the most selfless thing I have ever seen. Lyndy, your dad and I love you so much and I bet Grandma Marion and Great Grandma Lyndy are looking down so proud of you." They hugged each other tightly and said good night. Amy made it to their bedroom and saw Ty on the bed waiting for her reading. Before she went to get ready she went over to finish the kiss they had earlier. He whispered, "How is Lyndy?" She smiled, "Let me get ready and I will tell you all about it." He smiled and stole another kiss before she headed to the bathroom. After a few minutes she emerged and headed to the bed and into his arms. She sighed deeply, "Today was perfect." He agreed pulling he into his chest. "Seeing the kids have so much fun, Wyatt getting a stone, Katie and Clay announcing their pregnancy and watching everyone enjoying themselves is what it is all about. But watching you with the kids, talking with grandpa and hugging Wyatt that made it even better. Ty, I have never been happier than I am right now." He smiled, Well Ames, I am on top of the world but now with you in my arms is my happy place." She snuggled closer, "I was talking to Lyndy about today and Ty, she is so amazing. You know I can't believe she went with Katie to get the test and sat with her waiting for the result. I knew they were struggling but what 15-year-old does that. And she was smiling and crying as she talked about Wyatt. He is her world and I know they are young but we can't deny how they feel, it is special, kind of how I felt about you." He smiled, "Well not all the time." She looked at him and said with conviction, "I knew the day you built me that course that I loved you, I was just too naive and immature to understand my feelings. Ty I love you." He smiled, "And I love you." Their kiss became passionate but each of them were happily exhausted. Without a word the fell soundly asleep in each other's arms, together forever.
