Chapter One Hundred-Seventeen

The Happiest New Year

A/N – My intent with the last chapter was to begin the development of the new/old characters into the Borden family. I expect it will allow me to take them in several directions if the spirit moves me. I also have always tried to show how Amy, Ty and the kids not only welcome new people in their lives but help them "fit in" to their amazing family and friends. It is a baseline characteristic of this story and how I believe, through the love of Amy and Ty this becomes a reality. My favorite part of the last chapter was when Jack and Max showed up unexpectedly to snatch JT up. These mini stories come to me while I write a chapter and I have to say this one, although short, was a pleasure for me to include. As usual the company New Year's Party will be a great event but the impromptu party at Heartland will be special as well. I am really excited now about the start of the new year. New characters and storylines are on the way. I hope you are all Ok with me continuing this story as it has been my pleasure to write it. There will be an end but as I have hinted, the sequel is on my mind and I hope it will warrant your readership. One more thing I need to discuss. I don't want JT to be in pain or be sad but his diagnosis is real life and my continued direction will be how the family and friends are there for him. For me that is the true intent which aligns with the overall theme of the Borden Family Legacy. Keep the ideas and reviews coming, I sincerely enjoy both. Mature Content Enjoy!

The rest of the day the family took it easy. Amy and Ty went out to the office and called Dr. Flanders to update him on the episode yesterday. He asked a lot of specific questions trying to get the detail he needed. "Amy and Ty after the holiday I will get with the other staff who I have worked with on his diagnosis. If you can bring him in later in the week that would be great as by then we will know what we need to look for. I know you are aware but this is normal for a person with any form of CFS but what we need to figure out is if we need to adjust his treatment plan. Just keep him calm, which I know is tough and we will see you later in the week." Amy and Ty thanked him and held each other a little relieved but still concerned. As soon as they walked back into the house the kids were all over them so they went over everything the doctor said. After they were done, Amy sent an email to the staff at his school. She wanted to sit down before he started back to fill them in on what had happened and their concern that he may not want to go back right away. Surprisingly, she got a response from the counselor almost immediately that told her to let them know what time worked and she would arrange it. The only person left to talk to was JT himself. Midafternoon they saw Lisa' SUV pulling in the driveway. Lilly had come with her to bring JT back as Jack and Max had to get the BBQ going. JT sprung out of the back seat running towards the porch followed by a smiling Lisa and Lilly. Ty had not seen his mom yet so immediately she went to him and then Amy for a hug. Lisa was out of breath as she spoke, "This guy has way too much energy. Jack and Max said he was a hoot shopping with them, flirting with all the women, even Val and Ashley Stanton who were shopping too." Amy looked at her, "Ashley is in town?" She smiled, "Yep and she said she would giving you a call after New Year's. Amy and Ty thanked them as they headed back to help get everything ready. JT was now in Wyatt's arms as Amy asked him, "Hey buddy come for a walk with your dad and I." He whispered to Wyatt, "Hope I am not in trouble." Wyatt laughed setting him on the ground as he went to hold his parents hands. They walked to the back round pen and set on the bench beside it. Ty spoke first, "So, we talked to Dr. Flanders and told him what happened. He didn't seem to worried but wants to see you later this week and see if we need to change things a bit with your treatment." JT frowned and Amy looked at him, "JT this isn't bad and it's just a visit. They want to help and need to make sure they completely understand what happened. We also called school and before you say anything, we just wanted to keep them updated." He sat quietly and finally spoke, "I understand. I was so embarrassed yesterday, mommy why does this happen to me." Amy melted into him and whispered, "Baby, we know this is hard but you are strong like GG and everything will be fine." He smiled and laughed, "You should have seen GG and Grandpa Max today, it was good I was there. They were kind of lost in the store, but I helped them." Ty and Amy smiled confidently that their boy had it under control.

Although there were some protests, a recommended rest time for the family was had by all. They wanted to all be able to stay up until midnight. Amy went to rouse everyone and again noticed Wyatt resting with Lyndy. Although she was Ok with it her and Ty had noticed that they seemed more closer than ever. She smiled remembering how their love grew over the years and was comfortable with the two of them, but still felt the need to say something as they woke up. "Hey guys, dad and I trust the both of you completely and understand how important you are to each other." She hesitated, "Just be patient with your relationship. Your dad and I had a few challenges because we weren't and I can tell you with confidence that when we realized that our love was rock-solid, it grew from there. But I won't lie because I know dad wants to talk to Wyatt. Don't worry he will be controlled, but he has to do it as a father." Lyndy blushed a little and thought of protesting but held back as they both smiled in agreement. Mallory and the girls had baked some pies to bring and Lyndy packed a bag for JT in case he needed PJ's later. They gathered to leave excited about the impromptu party at Heartland. Wyatt took Lyndy, Maddie and JT and the twins, Mallory and Trent went with Ty and Amy. As the caravan pulled up they also saw the Walsh's pull up as well. As they greeted in front of the family homestead, Jack looked out the window. "Looks like the Bordens and guest are here." The Weber kids ran out to see their cousins jumping into the arms of Lyndy, Annie and Addie. After a lot of hugging and giggling they all went inside. Jack had dropped the curtains on the porch and had heaters ready to go. Liss thought it would be a good place for the kids to hang out. Ty, Wyatt and Mallory carried in too many pies. As the kids gathered on the porch they all decided to go see the horses as Lyndy and Wyatt offered to chaperone. Katie was still buzzing about her pregnancy and was cornered by Lou, Amy, Soraya, Mallory, Lisa, Casey and Lilly talking babies. The men sat in the lounge sharing a beer watching Tm and Jack bicker. Dillon leaned over to Ty, "Hey mate, so they always argue." Steven heard the comment and laughed, "Always, we stopped listening a long time ago." The men also were harassing Clay about how his life would change. He smiled, "You can't say anything to scare me,. I am so happy I could burst. And you all seem to be Ok?" They laughed clinking the beer bottles in a toast. Ty and Amy kept glancing at each other smiling contently. This was what they lived for and they were a happy as they could be. After a long glance, Dillon spoke to the group, "So do they always do that looking at each other thing, I have to say it is a little weird." Scott laughed, "Trust me Dillon, get used to it. It has been that way forever. They are like the poster couple for love." Amy noticed the conversation and walked over kissing Ty on the lips, "You are all jealous." They kissed again until Maddie walked in looking in shock, "Really you two, you are gross." Everyone laughed and continued to chat.

The BBQ and sides were delicious and the family and close friend enjoyed it. But more importantly they enjoyed the chance to be with the people that meant the most to them. Jack had always said that family is everything and this night was a true example of what that meant. He sat with Lisa, Max, Tim and Casey looking over the group. He finally gathered himself and spoke to the elder group. "You know in my life I have seen a lot of good and not so good things. When we lost June it was the darkest time of my life. Especially when my dad struggled so much. When Lyndy got cancer, I watched her strength as she fought a battle that we all knew she couldn't win. It's funny but my memories are of sadness and happiness at the same time. Sad that they are gone but happy that family was always there. When I look out at Lou and Amy and their families it brings peace to my heart. Look at them all and how much joy they have in their lives. Look at all those kids and how amazing they are." He hesitated as Lisa put her hand on his shoulder, "Every man wants to leave his legacy. I would have to say what we see in front of us is our legacy and one that we should all be proud of." The group was silent when uncharacteristically Tim spoke, "Jack you are the main reason for all of this. The morals and guidance you gave Amy and Lou are the foundation of what we see in front of us. And although I was a little late, I hope I have influenced it too. And I agree, it is a good feeling as a father and grandfather." They smiled as Tim couldn't resist, "Oh and in your case Great Grandfather and.. Great-Great Grandfather." The group laughed in happiness at the rare emotional comment from Tim. As they settled a very excited JT with Noah and Trent in tow headed their way. "GG, can we talk to you?" The elder group chuckled at the excitement in his voice. He was truly an exceptional child and they all loved him dearly. Jack brought JT and Trent to his lap and Noah jumped on Tim's. "Well what do you want to talk about." JT gathered himself as Amy, Mallory and Georgie watched from the other side of the room. "Well, I was talking to my buddies and were wondering if Noah and Trent can be a part of our fishing group. I know they might not be able to fish yet, but we will help them. We think they need to hang with us guys more since there are so many girls around here. So…" Noah looked at Tim, "I can fish too?" Max noticed that Tim and Jack had become very emotional so he stepped in smiling. "Well Noah and Trent do you think you are ready?" They both smiled broadly and Trent said, "Yep and JT will help us, he is a good fisherman." At this point, Lilly, Casey and Lisa were watching with misty eyes. Max continued, "Well JT make sure you start working with them. Trent and Noah will now be a part of our boys fishing club. Guys is that Ok with you all?" The boys jumped in glee onto Max's lap, and they returned to hug Jack and Tim. At this point Amy, Georgie and Mallory came over in tears as well. Maddie came over too complaining, "Hey what about us girls, why is it only a "Boys Club?" Noah looked at her confidentially, "Cause boys rule!" Everyone broke out in laughter as Trent, JT and Noah high-fived each other.

The rest of the night was just perfect as the family laughed and joked around. Ty and Wyatt were excited that JT convinced Jack to have two new boys join the fishing group. JT told Wyatt as he jumped in his arms and kissed his cheek. Ty and Amy were in awe of their relationship as Lyndy walked over and joined in the hug. He whispered to his wife, "You know I still think I need to talk to him about the other morning. I am not worried but we need to make sure they understand the rules, especially in the house." She laughed, "You know you can't stop it, especially when they start going on dates. I remember a young man who loved to sneak around with a certain cowgirl." He was going to say something and she put her hand on his lips, "And don't say it was different because it's not. The only thing was that you were afraid of Grandpa and his threat." He looked down, "Yea maybe, but I still need to talk to him." She smiled in agreement and kissed him on the lips a little longer than expected, "Just be nice." There continued to be a lot of attention on Katie and Clay's pregnancy. Lyndy and Wyatt were especially connected with them as they were already asked to be godparents. Lyndy, Annie, Addie, Maddie, Camilla and Caroline huddled with Katie talking quietly. Lou whispered to Amy and Georgie, "I wonder what they are talking about, there sure seems to be a lot of giggling." They both looked at her sternly and Georgie spoke up, "Mom give me a break, you were a teenage girl once, what do you think they are talking about." Lou frowned, "That what I was worried about, maybe we should go check it out." As she stood up, Amy grabbed her arm, "Lou don't you dare, did you want mom to interrupt our personal conversations?" She huffed and sat back down, "I guess." Scott, Ty and Steve came over to sit with their wives. Noticing the tension Scott spoke directly, "Let me guess, Lou wants to break into the conversation over there?" Ty added, "And I bet that Amy and Georgie put a stop to it." The group laughed as Ty blushed a little, "Kind of how Amy set me straight about Wyatt earlier." Now they had to know so Steven boldly asked, "What about him, is something wrong with the mini me couple?" Amy and Ty looked at each other and she explained what had happened but not before they all were sworn to secrecy, especially Lou. After the explanation, Georgie looked amazed, "So you are telling me that you found him lying on the bed with her one morning? Man you needed to be my parents" Amy smiled blushing a little, "Guys, it was harmless, they totally respect each other and also respect our rules. Ty is going to talk to him but I warned him to be nice." Lou looked at Amy smiling, "The rules Grandpa had didn't work well on you two. Let's see, how many time Amy did you sneak out to the loft and ride over to the trailer, especially when he was gone overnight?" Ty laughed as Amy answered, "Well that was different, kind of." They laughed as Mallory who had overheard the conversation spoke up, "You two are something else. I can't even count how many times I slept over and all of a sudden I saw Amy's bed empty." Amy and Ty both blushed and smiled remembering all of the late night get togethers. They didn't answer but kissed quickly, giggling in each other's ear.

As midnight approached everyone was still awake except the little ones, who were all camped out in Jack and Lisa's room. As they countdown started Amy and Ty kept their tradition of starting their kiss before midnight and kept is up a minute or so after. Maddie Annie and Addie saw that Mallory was alone so they went to her to have a midnight hug with her. She smiled with tears in her eyes. After the new year was here, the families hugged and then adults and kids hugged and kissed each other. After everyone was settled the Bordens and Walsh's got ready to leave as tomorrow would be a long day. The ladies discussed what was needed in order to get ready for the company party before they left. Lyndy and Mallory grabbed the sleeping boys and they headed home. Since it was late, Wyatt made sure he stayed close to Ty and Amy. Wyatt and Lyndy took JT to bed and after a quick rounds Amy and Ty headed to their room. The kiss was still in their minds as they shut the door behind them. Everyone planned to sleep in so they thought they would take advantage of that. Amy quickly brushed her hair and came to bed with Ty's favorite sleep attire. He smiled, "Looks like you are thinking about our kiss tradition." She laughed seductively, "Well yea but we also have our other tradition." Within minutes they had their clothes off and were continuing their kiss from midnight.. Ty smiled, "I love those pajamas." She smiled and began moving her hand down to stroke his hardness. He moaned as she moved up and down enticing it to become even larger. She marveled at how her touch could stimulate him so much but selfishly knew it was a benefit for her too. They were both hungry for each other kissing and caressing all the right places. Ty moved his hands to kneed her breast and then lowered his lips to her perky nipples. She momentarily lost focus as she shook in the pleasure of her orgasm. He continued as she struggled to regain any type of control as his effort was achieving the result they both desired. She made her move and began to aggressively pleasure him with first her hand then her lips. Now it was his time to lose focus as his breathing increased along with his moans. He cried out her name as she hit the right spot and joined her in his release. They held on tight whispering I love yous in each other's ears. Amy was breathless and moaned, "Ty that was amazing," He couldn't speak but shook his head in agreement before he latched onto her lips for another deep and passionate kiss. Getting their focus back she hovered over him and gently lowered herself onto he re-energized manhood. As she bore down she whispered huskily, "Ty you feel so good, please move faster." On that encouragement he began to thrust in and out as Amy tried to keep up. Bedsheets and pillows were flying everywhere as the lovers entangled in a love reserved just for them. As they both erupted in love the momentum continued for at least 5 more minutes until they both succumbed to exhaustion. Lying next to each other, sweaty and breathing heavily, Amy was able to muster, "Happy New Year my love."

Since they had plenty of time it seemed that everyone slept in. A little after 9:30, Ty and Amy came down to the kitchen and saw a little buffet of light breakfast items on the counter. They ran to the coffee pot and filled up a cup for each of them. Mallory looked over raising her eyebrow, "Kind of slept late you guys." Ty smiled, "Yep and I slept like a baby after I had a little trouble getting to sleep." Amy blushed and leaned into his shoulder. Several of the kids walked in the door after they had taken care of the horses. Of course Maddie spoke up, "Well, look who is finally up, don't worry we took care of everything." Lyndy gave her the look and she quieted. "So Trent, excited about being a part of the boy's fishing club." He smiled brightly, "Yea, your GG is really cool. I asked him if he would be my GG too since I don't really have one and he said yes!" The little boys comment brought sad feelings to Mallory, Amy and Ty but Wyatt saved the day. "Well buddy we are your family now so you have GG, Grandpas, Grandmas, Aunts, Uncles, brothers and sisters. Will that be cool with you." He smiled and jumped in his lap as JT added, "And you have best friends like me." Every laughed with a mixture of tears." As they all sat, Amy went over the day as each had some things to do. The large tent was set up next to the indoor arena. The food and speeches dinner would be in the arena and the tent would be for overflow and dancing. The adults hoped that would be where the kids would hang out. After she finished she reminded them what time it would start and that they all needed to listen to what Lisa, Jack and some other members of the Board would be talking about. "I know it might be boring but out of respect I want you all to listen and pay attention." Lyndy and the girls set up two of the bedroom for little ones who may need a nap and Ty joined Wyatt and Caleb in making sure all the tables and chairs were ready. Wyatt also helped Clay get the microphones set up in the arena and the music in the tent. Amy and Mallory helped the other women get the food set up as all of the employees and families started to show up. Everyone was in a great mood as the previous year had been the best the company had ever had. Profit sharing and bonuses were healthy and all of the team spent a lot of time thanking the Board. As the start of the event came near everyone was getting seated in the arena as Lisa came to the podium to get their attention. She glanced around at the group smiling broadly impressed with the people in front of her. She leaned over to Amy and Lou and whispered, "Looks like all of the kids have been spoken too and are really quiet." They laughed as she began to speak. "Good afternoon everyone, and Happy New Year. Jack, myself and the rest of the Board want to take a few minutes before we party to talk about the business. First, we are successful because of each and every one of you. And not just the staff but the families behind them. Our company is built on the foundation of a strong and noble family that started with the Bartletts and has moved forward with the Flemings, Bordens, Cardinals, Weber's and Morris's. And many more on the way. But in our company, family it is not just blood, it is the extension of all of you. From our perspective, you are all our family. So famliy thank you." The crowd applauded as several tears were seen.

Lou stepped up and briefly went over the results from the year. Most had already seen them or heard them from the individual Board members so she kept it simple, "Every one of our individual units were profitable and showed different levels of growth. The big callout is that the Miracle Ranch and specifically the Equine Center now account for half of our Operating Budget. We expected good results but were surprised at the impact of this unit. I believe, Amy, Ty and the team should be recognized." The entire arena erupted in applause and gratitude. "Another notable achievement is our work on supply management led by Caleb and Clay but executed by you. Our efficiencies are enhancing our ability to grow and have become a significant economic windfall." Again there was a round of applause. "The Board is extremely pleased with all of our results but we will not be complacent. We are looking at several growth ideas and enhancements to the Miracle Ranch and the Veternary Service function. Although many of you may know already here is a peak under the tent" She gave the podium to Ty and Scott who put a slide up on the projection screen detailing the move of the entire Equine business to the Miracle Ranch, adding a separate all other animal vet clinic in a property next to the current location and having the original Hudson Vet Clinic become the H.E.E Beau Vine Treatment Center. Scott spoke, "Our cattle business is growing significantly as well as our reputation. Anyway more to come on that." Again the crowd erupted in applause. Lou took back the microphone, "Thanks to all of you and I want to make sure you all understand that the company will always look to improve and grow. Now I would like to call up Amy who has a couple to exciting things to go over." She smiled as she approached the podium, "Man talking about following amazing speakers, I hope you bear with me." From the audience she heard JT call out, "Don't worry mom, you will rock it." Everyone chuckled as Amy blushed, "My number one fan. So I have two exciting things to talk about. Over the last couple of weeks, two old friend of the family have returned to Hudson. Now they aren't really old but these two women are some of my dearest friends and have made an impact on me, Ty and my family. Soraya, Dillon, girls come on up here." A reluctant Walsh family headed up to the podium. "I would like to formally introduce my best friend Soraya. We have been friends since kindergarten and I am beside myself because along with her husband Dillon and daughters, Camilla and Caroline they have moved back to Hudson for good. Dillon will be starting a new role as a Physical Therapist at the hospital and the girls, who are 13 and 10 start school this upcoming semester." After a brief applause, she pulled Soraya next to her. "And my best busy here will be setting up her psychological consulting practice right here as well." After another brief applause Caleb yelled out, "We really need that here, can we put her on retainer?" Everyone laughed as several people chimed in agreeing with him. Amy laughed, "Trust me we have already discussed that. Anyway please join me in welcoming the Walsh family to our family." Again applause rose from the crowd as the embarrassed family went back to their seats.

She gathered them back in and continued. "Can I have the Board join me on stage. We want to take a moment to recognize someone who will be leaving us soon. This women was a godsend when she offered her services to us when we set up the Day Care Center. To be honest we weren't really sure what we were getting into, but when we met this long tenured childcare professional, who offered to help even thought she was retired, we were ecstatic. Marjorie Moore has been a dedicated and valued member of our team and has made our Day Care Center and amazing place for our children. Her innovation and commitment truly match the vision of our Company. Well, she wants to move on to be a full-time retired grandma and will be leaving us early next year. I'll talk about her replacement in a second but first Marjorie come on up here. Ladies and gentlemen, please help me in thanking this amazing woman." The crowd erupted in applause as an embarrassed and tearful Marjorie came on to the stage to hugs from everyone on the Board. Jack stepped up, "Marjorie, I have been asked by the board to make this presentation. This plaque commemorates your service and will be placed near the newly dedicated Marjorie Moore Playground." Marjorie was beside herself as tears and more hugs followed." Lisa came up, "Well Marjorie the fun is not over. We know you will be moving to Vancouver to be with your daughter's family including 4 grandchildren. So we will are giving you a weekend stay at Whistler Mountain Resort for your entire family as I hear you have some skiers in the group. Don't' worry, your daughter is in the loop and already has some weekends set aside once you move. Marjorie, we all love you and wish you the best." Ty called up all of the day care workers and a group picture was taken. Marjorie couldn't smile any wider. As she tried to step down Amy grabbed her arm gently and asked her to stay as she spoke, "Not so fast there girl. As I promised, I am also going to announce your replacement and I need your help. Everyone, please welcome Mallory Wells, get on up here." The crowd laughed as the unusually not bashful woman headed onto the stage. From the crowd a yell was heard from Trent, "That's my mom!" Everyone laughed again as she came between Amy and Marjorie. Amy continued, "Well this may not be a complete secret, but Mallory is back with her proud son, Trent. Mallory has accepted our offer to become the new Managing Director of our Day Care Center. While she has been gone she has built up a strong set of skills that are perfect for this role. Marjorie has already taken her under her wing and from her report, is ready to go." She hesitated and chuckled, "Well maybe it is Marjorie who is ready." Everyone laughed as she gave a thumbs up. "Mallory has been a member of this family for long time and we are so happy she has decided to come back to us. And we hope she stays with us for many years to come." "Pulling both women in Amy spoke choking up, "I love you both so much." Again the crowd erupted in applause. Jack stepped up and spoke, "Ok enough of the mushy stuff, JT come on up." He whispered in the little man's ear as he held him in his arms as he spoke, "Let's Party!"

The crowd was abuzz with excitement as they began to enjoy the food. Mallory and Marjorie stayed together and fielded a lot of congratulations and thanks. The Board as always made the rounds to personally say hello to every employee and their families. They were also there to answer any questions about any of the things that were discussed. They also made it a point to thank all the kids for being so good during the mini meeting and gave each of them a little gift bag of toys and snacks. Parents had been contacted and each gift back was personal for that child. It was a great gesture that Amy, Lou and Lisa decided would become a tradition. Lyndy watched as her parents walked around never leaving each other's sides, holding hands as they mingled. She whispered to Wyatt, "I bet they need a drink and maybe some food, can you help me?" He smiled and went with her to gather up food for them. When they got to the table they saw Maddie, Annie and Addie getting ready to do the same thing. She smiled feeling so lucky to have such amazing sisters. They got everything together and went to their parents who had actually sat down at the ranch hands tables. As they approached, Amy looked up, "What is going on here?" Lyndy smiled, "You two need to eat and have a drink. And we are here to make sure you do." JT came running us with a bottle of beer and water, "And I have the drinks." Amy and Ty hugged each one of them and asked the group they were sitting with if they minded. Clifton, one of the newer ranch hands spoke up, "Dr. and Mrs. Borden it would be our honor." Rusty looked overt to him rolling his eyes, "Amy and Ty don't mind him he is new. Dude, it is Amy and Ty. This is definitely a first name organization, especially Mr. Bartlett. Everyone calls him Jack." The young man looked at them apologetically, "Sorry Amy and Ty." Ty laughed and put his hand on his shoulder, "No problem, Amy and I aren't fans a formality with family." The party continued on as the kids migrated to the tent as hoped to burn off the excess energy from the deserts provided. Most of the adults sat in the arena and talked but some did migrate from time to time to check on the kids. The littler ones took advantage of the nap room set up in the house and there were plenty of volunteers to sit with them, especially the soon to be parents, Clay and Katie. There was a lot of smiling, joking and laughing.

Jack sat overlooking the activities with Lisa, Max and Lilly. Tim and Casey were drug into the kids tent to join them in some dancing. Max spoke up, "Jack and Lisa, this is quite an event. I am glad we decided to fly up for it, especially since we won't be back for the summer in mid-May." Lilly smiled, "Max we are going to have to apologize to JT since we have to go back before his birthday. I wanted to reschedule the procedure but the doctor was adamant." Lisa went and held her hand, "Lilly of all people JT will totally understand. He is such a thoughtful and considerate child. You know he has singlehandedly taken Trent under his wing, meeting the other kids and getting ready for school." Lilly looked at Jack and Lisa seriously, "How is he doing, Amy mentioned he had a little scare recently." Jack looked a little forlorn, "You know he is a smart kid, but with brings a little more understanding of what he is dealing with. He is brave and proud and puts on a strong face but we all know he is a little scared." Max shook his head in agreement. Lilly smiled, "Do you think Ty and Amy would mind if I had a chat with him. I want him to know that I am scared too but is we are there for each other and we will be Ok." Lisa smiled, "That would be wonderful and I am sure they won't mind." Amy and Ty were sitting with Mallory, Soraya, Dillon, along with the O'Dell's, Master's and Stillman's. Stories were the main topic of discussion revolving around the old days. Cass, Jenn, Will and Bethany were overwhelmed with the details they remembered and were laughing so hard they almost hyperventilated. Mallory was as always the center of most stories and the time Ty punched out Jesse Stanton was also a hit. The Caleb, Amy, Ty thing also brought out a lot of laughter as Caleb contended that Amy really liked him more but he messed up when he had Ashley live in the trailer with him. Amy smirked, "Whatever O'Dell you were just a diversion until Ty realized your barrel racing buddy was not his lifelong match." She leaned over and kissed Ty on the lips as the entire group gagged and acted sick. Mallory yelled out, "You see what I have had to put up with my whole life, right Soraya." The two old friends high fived each other in agreement. The conversation continued until kids started to return. JT and Trent were out of breath from all the dancing and playing. Soraya's girls have never looked happier and she leaned over to Dillon and whispered kissing his cheek, "I think we made the right decision." Cass leaned into Caleb comforting him as the mention of Ashley came up. Ben and Jenn as well as Will and Bethany also were sitting close and cuddling. Finally Mallory had to speak up sticking her lower lip out, "Look at all of you so lovey dovey and me all by myself. Kind of feel like I need to leave all of you alone to make out." Soraya looked at the other women, Girls, we have a mission. We have to find Mallory a man." Ty choked a little and answered, "I can't wait but there is a caveat, Caleb and I have to talk to them first and warn them." Mallory smacked them both as the group continued to chat.

The party carried on for a while longer but eventually people began to head home as tomorrow was a workday. As they left everyone made sure they thanked the Board for the event. As the end neared Ty and Amy spoke to Caleb and the ranch hands about getting everything cleaned up and the tent down. Caleb gave the thumbs up. "No worries we have a lot of volunteers and I expect this place will be ready to go by noon." It was an amazing day as the Bordens headed into the house with Mallory and Trent, who like JT was sound asleep. Maddie, Annie and Addie offered to put the little men to bed as Mallory, Wyatt, Lyndy, Amy and Ty had a cup of tea by the fire. Mallory was still a bit overwhelmed with the event and her new role as she smiled, "You know when I came back I had no idea what to expect. What has happened to me and my little guy in nothing less than perfect. Ty and Amy, I can't thank you enough for accepting us." Lyndy smiled and said, "Aunt Mallory, it is what we do for family." The finished their tea and headed off to bed. Ty offered to clean up with Wyatt as Amy looked at him knowing what he wanted to do. As they picked up Ty, said, "So what's up with you in my daughter's room the other day?" He shrugged, "I was wondering when you were going to ask. First I am really sorry, you have to believe that nothing happened. I won't lie that being close with Lyndy is special but I would never do anything to lose you and Amy's trust and most of all Lyndy's. After Trent left his room, JT came to sleep with me. After he dozed, I just went up to get a drink and saw Lyndy's door opened. I peaked in and saw her crying looking up at the ceiling. I had to go in. I realized that she was very upset about JT's latest episode. We talked and she calmed down but we both fell asleep and didn't realize it until the morning. Dad, she needed me, I couldn't just leave her alone." Ty smiled and thanked him. As he came into their room an anxious Amy sat in bed waiting for him, "Well how did it go."
