Chapter One Hundred Twenty-Five

A Time To Be There

A/N – Well it seems the last storyline took up an entire chapter, I hope it was enjoyable. My next will solely focus on the trip to see Lilly. I am in a state of flux as to where it will go but I promise wherever it goes it will be handled with care. As with most of my writing, my direction and storyline moves unexpectedly. Due to personal life experiences, this chapter may be the most challenging for me. As I have said, this is the first attempt at composing a story and I have developed an approach that works for me and hopefully for you. Interestingly your feedback has told me to keep going. Never in my dreams would I believe that I would be at 124 Chapters and 630K words. But I still feel I have more to say and with your blessing will continue. Of all the chapters I have written the next one will be unique as I again have no idea where it will go. I am sure many of us have dealt with this disease in your family including me. I hope I provide you content that is realistic and respectful. Once we get past this we will move into late winter and early spring and the Borden family will be busy. Thanks for the ideas and feedback. Mature Content Enjoy!

JT sat patiently looking through one of the fishing magazines he had brought. His mom made him bring his schoolwork but he wasn't quite ready for that yet. He had not been in airports much and looked around at all the people. Some were laughing or crying, some were hugging and a lot were running. He laughed as he saw a panicked couple walk by quickly and the woman was yelling at the man about being late. He thought to himself and decided that most people were crazy. He shook his head when he saw a little girl, a little younger than him throwing a fit because her mom wouldn't buy her candy. He smiled and thought he could teach her a few tricks. He went back to his magazine not even paying attention to his parents who sat across to him. He felt they needed each other and didn't want to bother them. His thoughts went to his grandma. He knew she was strong but also understood that she was sick. When they talked she never seemed down and was always positive, especially when he talked about how he was feeling. He felt that their discussion help each of them and lived for the time when they chatted. He saw a lot of his dad in her and was so happy that his father had her back in his life. He kind of understood that his dad's life was hard and there were a lot of problems. He knew when he got older he would get more details but for now was focused on two things, The health of his grandma and the feelings of his father. He had pledged to himself that he would take care of them both. As he sat he glanced at his parents. Their love and support was amazing. Although some were put off by their open affection and support, he privately loved it. He loved them more than anything on earth and when they were together it made him happy and content. He noticed his mom whispering to him as he leaned into his shoulder. He was always amazed at how close they were, how she held his arm when they walked together and how he was always kissing her forehead. He had heard kids talk about their parents and how they seemed to fight a lot and some whose parents were divorced. He didn't completely understand it but was confident that his parents would always be there for each other, his sisters, Wyatt and himself. Again he smiled and went back to his fishing magazine. He kept looking at his parents as it seemed they needed each other as their whispers led him to believe. Every once in a while his mom would look over and smile, a smile that warmed his heart.

Amy and Ty were sitting across from their little boy who was occupied with his magazine in a hushed conversation. Amy leaned into Ty and whispered, "Looks like he is already planning for some fishing trips with GG and Max." Ty smiled, "Yea but I am sure he is thinking a lot about my mom. Amy, he is an amazing kid and I love him so much. He means so much to her." They sat silently as Amy looked over smiling at her little boy. His smile back was warm and made her feel so good. She loved her kids but had a special place for him. After everything he had been through, all he could focus on was Lilly and her husband. She wondered what is was like for him to be able to interact with her mom and grandma. She never thought she would understand how it happened but she didn't need that, just that he did was good enough for her. He had so much of Ty in him and as he grew older she saw more and more if it. Ty leaned into her, "Hey horsey girl, you look like you are in deep thought." She blushed looking down. "Just thinking about you, your mom, JT and the kids. I know this is hard but having you all in my life makes everything better. Ty, I just want to make sure that no matter what happens, you know we are all here for you, I am here for you." They were distracted as a little girl was throwing a fit in the candy store with her mom. Ty looked at JT shaking his head. "Look at him, I bet he wants to go over there and teach that little girl the right approach." Amy smiled as she looked at him as well. "Well I can say this, I have never seen him throw a fit like that about anything." He smiled and gave her a quick kiss on her lips leaning into her. As they finished they looked over and saw him smiling, shaking his head slightly. They continued their chat lost in conversation and making sure they glanced over at him once in a while. Amy spoke to Ty directly, "Ty how are you doing, really." He smiled meekly, "Well I am scared and proud at the same time. My mom had been so strong but she looks so sick. I remember when she was drinking and taking pills and she looked horrible all the time. This is different though." Amy looked at him and asked, "How is it different?" He took a breath and looked deeply into her eyes. "Back then she looked hopeless, she had no life in her eyes. I thought I had failed her because I couldn't help. When I finally broke they put me in juvenile care. The worst part was not that, it was not knowing how she was. Amy I really believed I would never see her again, that the addictions and Wade would take her from me forever."

Amy knew her husband well but she sat in shock as Ty opened up with such deep thoughts. She pulled him in her arms and whispered, "Ty you never have told me that, I am so, so sorry." He smiled in her shoulder, "Well I had actually buried it so far back I had forgotten it as well, until this. On the good side when I see her now it is different. I see love and hope in her eyes, even though I know she is not well. No matter what happens seeing her like this makes me kind of happy. I am looking forward to spending some time with her and I think she is happy about us being there too. Did you see how she lit up when we all called her. These memories will stay with me, the others will go away forever." Amy thought about his comment. "I understand, but Ty, your past is a part of you and has made you into an amazing person. Lilly sees that and her pride overwhelms even me some time. I have caught her more than once just looking at you. The past for her is no longer a part of her, the present is." The fell again into a deep embrace only aware of each other. They were startled when they felt someone standing in front of them. They looked up and saw a 4-year-old boy with his backpack on and water in his hand staring at them. They both blushed as he began to speak, "Ok, I am good with the huggy stuff but we are in a public place." Amy and Ty laughed and pulled him into their hug. He struggled for a few seconds until he gave in feeling their warmth. He looked at his dad and confidently said, "Dad this is good, grandma is really going to be happy to see us." They continued their hug when a gate attendant approached them. She smiled, "Are you the Borden family?" JT spoke up earnestly, "Yes ma'am, I am JT Borden and am 4 years old. This is my mom, Amy Borden, and my dad, Dr. Ty Borden. I won't tell their age because it is not polite." The young women laughed, "Well it is a pleasure to meet you JT, you are too cute. Well, you get to preboard thanks to this amazing little boy, so gather you stuff and follow me." As they walked to check in the young woman smiled at him and told him to have a good trip. She whispered to Amy, "He is so precious." Amy laughed, "Most of the time." As they walked down the jet way, JT looked back and smiled waving at the young woman as she blew him a kiss. Ty smacked his shoulder, "Looks like JT has a girlfriend?" He scoffed as they went to their seats. They settled as JT had to sat between his mom with his dad on the aisle. JT stuffed his magazines in the seat pocket and Amy got out the iPad so they could watch a movie. Ty brought some work files as he has some pretty challenging surgeries coming up. As the plane filled up the three of them sat silently preparing themselves for the trip and visit with Lilly.

Once the fasten seat light went off it only took about 15 minutes for JT to capture the attention of two of the flight attendants. They were going down the aisle to get drink orders and sure enough all it took was meeting him and they both made sure he had everything he needed. He was polite and respectful saying yes and no ma'am and thanking them several times. He got his juice and some extra snacks including some cookies. Amy and Ty were amazed at how they were taking care of him and making sure he had everything he needed. One visit Tessa, one of the flight attendants leaned over to give JT some cookies and brushed against Ty, blushing and saying excuse me. When she left a slightly concerned Amy whispered into his ear, "It seems that little Miss Tessa has a thing for all the Borden men." She frowned and pulled away a bit from Ty. He lightly grabbed her arm and joked, "Well we are kind of cute." She rolled her eyes and leaned into him, "JT is cute, you are hot, remember?" Now it was time for Ty to blush as they lightly kissed each other. A embarrassed JT jabbed his mom's arm, "Really can you guys stop, you are embarrassing me in front of my new friends." She tickled him until he apologized and went back to his magazine, snacking on his cookies. After his third drink, JT needed to go so Ty took him back to the bathroom. While they were gone Tessa and Elise, the other flight attendant came up to talk to her. "Your son is so cute, is he your only child?" And your husband, have you been married long?" The second question threw Amy for a little loop but she recovered and answered. "Well thank you, he is a special little boy. In fact he has four older sisters, 15, 13yr old twins and 10. We also have guardianship of a 16-year-old boy who lives with us also, who happens to be my oldest daughter's boyfriend. Kind of crazy but it is all good." Startled, Elise asked, "Wait you have had 5 children, that is unbelievable." Amy smiled, "Well, it is not boring but they are all great kids. And to let you know, Ty and I started dating when I was 16 and he was 18. Over 20 years." Again they stood amazed at her story. Tessa was the first to gather herself, "That is so wonderful. Well if your girls are like their little brother, they must be amazing. And I apologize, but your husband is a good-looking man and you are beautiful." Amy smiled, "Yes he is and thank you." Ty and JT returned as the two left them. He looked at Amy confused. Amy smiled, "I'll tell you later."

As the plane descended to land JT looked out and said, "It kind of looks like home mom." Ty laughed, "Well I have only been here once and it is a lot like Calgary, mountains and a lot of buildings." They pulled up to the gate and gathered their things to exit the plane. As the neared the front his two new friends were waiting to tell him goodbye. He surprised and went to hug them as Tessa spoke, "See you buddy, are you hear on vacation. He smiled and calmly said, "No we are coming to see my grandma. She is very sick and needs me to be here with her." The two woman were speechless as tears come to both of them. Even the pilot who overheard the conversation was emotional and grabbed JT's hand to shake, "You my man are awesome." As they walked past the security gate, Amy laughed pointing to a sign that read JT Borden. They headed over to Max's daughter Helena and her husband who greeted them with hugs. Helena leaned down to JT, "Your grandma can't wait to see you." During the ride home the adults talked as JT looked out the window. Amy noticed that he was in deep thought and asked him, "What are you thinking about buddy?" He smiled, "I am happy we are here and can't wait to see Grandma, we have a lot to talk about." Helena heard the comment and looked at Amy with a tear in her eyes. Ty clutched Amy's hand realizing that this was the right thing to do. They turned down the street and into the circle drive of Max and Lilly's house. It was big and beautiful. Max had built a very successful law firm and now his two daughters and one son-in-law had taken it over. Helena's husband was an executive at the Denver Bank. As they stopped JT couldn't wait to get out, When his door opened he looked on the person he needed to see. He saw her standing next to Max as he helped he stand from the wheelchair she had to use. Before Amy and Ty could stop him he ran into her arms almost knocking her over. She sat back in her chair and he sat on her lap. He held her like he would never let he go. She was so happy as tears steamed from her eyes whispering in his ear. The adults gathered around the scene as Max greeted Ty and Amy. Lilly reach up and grabbed Ty and Amy's hand with a big smile. JT never let go as all of them looked on trying to hold back their tears. After a few minutes, Lilly leaned back and looked into her buddy's eyes. "Hey JT, we better go inside, I am getting a little cold. And I bet you are hungry, so let's go have a snack. Everyone is coming over for dinner so you can meet them all." He finally relinquished his hug and walked right next to her in the wheelchair holding her hand. He had not said much as all of his focus was on her. Lilly chuckled, "I bet you guys are hungry, airplane food is never any good." Ty laughed, "Well I don't think JT is, his two girlfriends really took care of him." The all looked at him wondering what that meant. He laughed, "A story for later."

The Bordens were taken to their rooms and to say they were nice was an understatement. Amy and Ty had a beautiful suite with a large bed, sitting area and a full bathroom. JT's room was also nice and he liked it. Amy helped him unpack and noticed that he was quiet. "Hey, you, what's going on. He smiled meekly, "Grandma looks really tired. How is dad doing? I guess I didn't think that she would look that way." She smiled pulling him in. "Well that is why we are here to be with her. This weekend we will have a little fun but Monday we are having a meeting with the medical team here. It's up to you if you want to go." He didn't even hesitate, "I am going, for sure." Dinner was fun as JT sat right next to Lilly. The families really gelled. There were a lot of questions about the Borden family as well as the company. Ty and Amy were proud to talk about all the kids and although Max's grandkids were older they had some great stories as well. Amy and Ty felt welcomed from all of them and couldn't help but notice how happy Lilly looked. After dinner, the locals headed home and a tired Amy, Ty and JT said goodnight. Lilly took JT to bed and sat with him for a while. Max grabbed Ty and Amy before they headed to their room and spoke up, "It is so great that you came, I can already see a little light in her eyes. And JT he is a gift from god. She adores him and I think it is mutual." They said their goodnights and headed to the room, but before they stuck their head in JT's room and said good night to the two of them. As they got ready, Amy noticed that Ty was very quiet. She decided that tonight she would make sure he knew how much she loved him and was there for him. She came to bed and spoke softly, "Ty I need you to roll over, you are tense and I want to help you." At first he resisted but feeling her love he rolled over on his stomach laying his head in his arms. Laying there only in his boxers she bit her lip looking over her good-looking husband remembering the two-flight attendant who had an eye on him. He was the most handsome man in the world. She had his favorite pajamas on that he used to joke were easy to take off. She got some oil and straddled him leaning down to kiss him on his neck. She whispered, "You are so tense and need to relax. I will take care of you my love, forever and always. She rubbed some lotion on her hands and began to massage his shoulders and lower back. She could tell by his reaction and soft moans that he was enjoying it. She moved down to his upper legs and ankles. She took off her pajamas and began to use her body to massage him. This brought a different level of response as he began to move and moan her name. By this point she had removed his boxers massaging his entire body. She secretly love his tight rear end and spent some extra time on it. As she moved he quickly rolled over as their bodies were close and oily. He smiled and kissed her chastely. He whispered, "Thank you Amy, I love you." Although a little tired they both realized that at that very moment they needed each other and spent the next hour making slow and passionate love. As they joined their love took over all of their feelings and as they climaxed together their passion exploded as well. They laid next to each other catching their breath. Ty looked into his wife's beautiful blue eyes and whispered, "I am glad we are here and I am so happy you are my wife."

As she woke, Amy found herself in his strong arms. Although they had gotten up to go to the bathroom clothes were still not necessary. She maneuvered up, put on her pajamas and robe and went to get a drink of water and a couple of cups of coffee. Before she headed down, she glanced into JT's room and her heart dropped. Lilly was in his room with her arms cuddling a very peaceful JT. She could barely contain herself as she quietly closed the door and headed to the kitchen. When she walked in she was startled as Max was at the counter drinking coffee and reading the paper. Before she said anything he laughed, "By the look on your face, I guess you saw them. She never came to bed and when I looked in I saw them sleeping." Amy could barely speak and instinctively went to hug Max. He smiled, "That boy is something else Amy, you and Ty should be so proud of him. He will be her savior." He poured her two cups of coffee as Amy got a bottle of water. Max reminded her of the plans for the day and also reminded her it would be a laid-back weekend. She thanked him with another hug and headed to their room. She found Ty sitting on the couch , unfortunately with pajamas on smiled as she walked in. "Where have you been?" She smiled, "Well I got us some coffee and had a nice talk with Max. Ty I need to show you something but you need to be quiet. He was confused and follow his wife holding her hand. She quietly opened the door slightly to JT's room and put her finger to her lips. When Ty looked in he almost collapsed in happiness. Seeing his mom and son soothing each other. JT felt him and opened his eyes. Smiling at his parents he quietly put his fingers to his lips as Lilly was still soundly sleeping. They smiled at him with so much love they could burst. They quietly closed the door and went back to their room to drink their coffee and hold each other. After a shower they got dressed and headed down for breakfast. As they got close they head laughing and chattering. They came upon Max at the stove as Lilly and JT sat on the counter coaching him. JT and Lilly were still in their PJs and greeted them both to hugs and kisses. JT laughed, "About time you guys woke up. We have been down here cooking your breakfast." Max laughed, "You mean I am." They all laughed as coffees were refilled. Max served up a great breakfast as the talk was about their day. Today they would head over to Denver's famous Aquarium, have lunch in Uptown. In th afternoon they thought a trip to the Zoo would work, but Lilly would decide if she could do that today and maybe that would be pushed to Sunday. Max's family was coming along as well as Amy and Ty were overwhelmed with their hospitality. Lilly and Max got ready as Ty volunteered to clean up so Amy could help JT get ready.

The family showed up a half hour later and they headed off to the aquarium. Some of Max's younger grandkids took JT under their wing and made sure he was having fun. The Bordens loved the Aquarium and JT's eyes were wide opened the entire time. Lilly seemed to also be having fun but had to rest now and then. Everyone noticed how JT was so attentive to her making sure she had something to drink and rested. Helena whispered to Amy, "Those two are something, think as thieves." After a late lunch that included ice cream for Lilly and JT they decided that Lilly and Max would head home with JT. Ty and Amy wanted to see the law office so Max's daughters and husbands took them. The rest of the family went to Helena's home to prepare for the family BBQ that night. Amy and Ty were very impressed with the law office. Ty commented, "This place is huge, how many people work here?' Sienna's husband answered, "Well we have 16 lawyers on staff, 8 being partners, a dozen or so legal aides and a number of other support staff. We have several large clients, one being the NHL hockey team. Being from Canada I figure you like the sport. Too bad they are out of town. We have suite there and the games are awesome." They looked over the rest of the office and went down to a coffee shop to relax a bit before they headed home. They chatted like they were old friends. Although they were a little older Amy and Ty really got along with them. Max's other daughter Sienna spoke up, "Amy and Ty we love Lilly so much. When mom died we were worried about our dad. She has brought light to his life and our families consider her a part of it." She hesitated, "And I know you have heard this but JT is so good for her. I won't lie but as you know she has had a rough time lately. When they are together, she seems to be so happy. She loves him. And we have heard about his issues, how is he?" Amy smiled, "Well he is doing much better but we still have to keep an eye on him. He is so aware for a 4-year-old and so caring. He is a rare one for sure and definitely a keeper." They all laughed and finished their coffees so they could head home. Ty and Amy were dropped off and headed into the house. As they walked in Max was in the living room with a book. He put his finger to his lips and pointed over to the couch. Lilly and JT were laying sound asleep under a blanket. The held each other close looking at them as Max whispered, "They been down for an hour." They smiled again and headed to their room. It was a good chance to relax and call home. There had been a few text but overall it had been quiet on the home front. Amy texted Lyndy and asked her to gather the kids for a quick call. A few minutes later, her phone rang and Ty and Amy saw 4 smiling girls. Ty immediately asked, "Where is Wyatt?" Maddie laughed, "We have him busy doing all the work." They all laughed and talked about their days. The girls seemed to be happy and having a good time. Finally Annie broke the ice, "So, how is grandma?" Ty built up the strength to answer. "When we got her she seemed really tired and to be honest looked very weak. But we have to say, your little brother has brought a light to her eye. When they are together she is so happy. He is so good for her." The girls were quiet and Addie spoke up, "Mom and Dad, she is good for him too." They finished the call and set a time for another call tomorrow at dinner so maybe JT and Lilly could join. They hung up as Amy and Ty sat on the couch and took a quick nap.

The BBQ at Helena's house was great and the next morning they sat down to another great breakfast. Although JT protested, Lilly decided to stay home while a number of the family members took the Bordens to the Zoo, eating lunch at the café there. JT wanted to get home so they went back to the house for a relaxing afternoon and dinner with just Max, Lilly and the Bordens. Monday was going to be the meeting at the hospital so Lilly needed her rest. After dinner they video called the kids so JT and Lilly could talk to them. The conversation was lively as the girls talked about everything going on at home and JT talked about the Aquarium and Zoo. They all said their goodbyes and I love yous and hung up. For the entire night Amy and TY held each other in silence and again JT and Lilly slept in his bed. They were each other's strength. It would be an early morning and as they went to bed everyone were quietly nervous about the meeting with the medical team. After a restless night Ty headed down very early to get coffee for him and Amy. He glanced in JT's room and saw he was by himself. As he came downstairs he was greeted by Lilly as she smiled and gave him a hug. She chuckled, "Well it looks like you slept as well as I did. I moved back to my room in the middle of the night. I needed Max to hold me for a while. Ty, I can't remember ever having someone that loves me like he does. And I am so happy that our love brought me back to you, Amy and the kids. It has given me something that I completely forgot about." Ty smiled and held her hand. "Mom, I am so happy that you are back and a part of our family. Amy and I love you, Max and his whole family. And the kids they love you as well, especially our little man." He started to choke up a bit, "Whatever the future brings we will never leave your side." They smiled as Max joined them, "Is anyone sleeping tonight?" He kissed Lilly's cheek and put his hand on Ty's shoulder, "Big day." After some idle chatter, Ty headed back to their room. As he went to enter he heard a quiet discussion. He looked in and saw JT in Amy's arms talking. She smiled, "There you are, I was wondering where my coffee was." He laughed, "If I knew you had a visitor I would have brought up some milk." JT scoffed, "No problem dad I wanna go see grandma and grandpa anyway." He scampered down the steps to see them as Ty joined Amy on the loveseat in their room. "So how is he?" She smiled, "He is good but you know why he was here? He was asking how you were." Ty was speechless and leaned into Amy. They would all need each other today.

Breakfast was quiet except for the always talkative JT. As they ate Lilly stopped because she wanted to say something directly to him so everyone would hear, "Now JT there may be a time that you and your mom may need to step out because I don't want you to hear what is being said. You are pretty grown up but I hope you understand why." He pondered the comment and spoke up, "Grandma it is you show so I will do whatever you ask." That brought a laugh from the group that relieved a little of the tension. Today's meeting was very important because they had reached an important point in her treatment and needed to decide where to go from here. Details would come and decisions would have to be made. They rode together in Max's SUV and after a short trip they arrived. As they entered the hospital Lilly seemed to be a little more energetic. The went to the office and checked in. The receptionist greeted Lilly and Max personally asking how they were. Lilly laughed and introduced Ty, Amy and JT. "They kind of know us here." The two people in the office looked over to JT, "So this is the young man we have heard so much about. Do you know your grandma talks about you and your sisters all the time. There are a lot of people who are going to love meeting you. You are kind of a celebrity." JT blushed, "Thank you but I am here for my grandma." They went to sit down and wait and of course JT was never far from his grandmother. He laughed, "So everyone knows about us?" Max laughed, "Little guy you guys are all she talks about. They all know that your dad is a famous vet and you mom is the Miracle Girl. They also know about all of your sisters and how and why Wyatt lives with you. All three of you need to be prepared for a lot of questions." They all laughed as JT leaned into his grandma as she whispered, "I kind of brag a lot about you guys." They all noticed he was scared and trying really hard to be brave. Amy looked over to him, "Hey honey you want to go for a walk?" He smiled clutching his grandma's hand tighter, "No I am Ok." They sat quietly for a little while longer when surprisingly the lead doctor came out to greet them. "Sorry, I know normally someone brings you back but since there is a celebrity here, I figured I better take you back myself." He put his hand on JT's head, "Son it is my pleasure to meet you. And Dr. and Mrs. Borden it is also great to meet you as well. Needless to say you are all quite the chatter around here thanks to Lilly." Amy and Ty smiled as JT shook his hand. "It is nice to meet you and thanks for taking care of my grandma." Even people in the waiting room choked up as he led them back to the room they would be using to meet.

For the next hour, the team of doctors and head nurse went over the tests that Lilly had gone through, as well as her treatment regimen and progress to date. As they finished everyone realized that they were at a decision point. Amy, Ty and Max asked a lot of questions as JT sat next to Lilly listening but never letting go of her hand. He understand some of it but was more focused on watching her reaction. Several times she looked down and smiled at him and he happily smiled back and leaned into her. His strength was good for her as she sat listening to the review. The medical team noticed the connection but more importantly noticed the strength that she drew from him. For the most part Lilly's progress was good but not at the level they had hoped for. The Oncology Specialist spoke up, "We are moderately pleased with your progress, the tumor growth has subsided it's just that not as much as we have hoped. Your stamina has weakened, which inhibits the approach we take. We would like to be more aggressive but in most cases that aggressiveness is controlled by the patient's ability to handle it. The extent of the cancer and your age are factors." JT who was very quiet looked up to his grandma and whispered, "What does that mean grandma?" She smiled and asked the doctor to tell JT what that meant. He leaned down to him, "Well JT your grandma is doing Ok, but her body is not letting us to be more aggressive. We need to increase the treatments to help get rid of this bad stuff." He looked at his mom, "Mommy does this mean grandma needs to, Cowboy Up." The group chuckled as Lilly answered him, "Honey let me try to explain, you know your GG is older and I bet he would tell you that things he did when he was younger, he can't do now. It's kind of like that. Grandma is not as strong as she use to be, that is just how life goes." He smiled meekly, "I understand, GG moans a lot when he gets on his horse or even bends down. A lot of time if he drops something he asks me to pick it up." Everyone laughed again at his analogy. He then looked at the medical team. "Well if this is so, what can we do to help my grandma. I was talking to my other grandma and GG Lyndy and they told me that Grandma Lilly needs to keep fighting." The nurse asked unknowingly, "When do you talk to them JT?" He smiled, "Last night in my dreams. Mom, Grandma Marion was on Pegasus and GG Lyndy was on Spartan. We talked out in the back pasture." The group sat stunned as many did not know about his connection. Amy held him tighter tearing up at the mention of Spartan. Lilly sat up straight and spoke confidently, "So what's the plan?" The team took another half hour to talk through their idea. Ty confirmed what they offered, "So you are going to bombard my mom with Chemo, creating healthy stem cells that you will then harvest. Then you will drive her immune system to a very low level and reinsert them with the hope that her own stem cells will help reduce the cancer. It sounds like my mom will be very sick, can she handle it?" Before the doctors could respond, Lilly spoke up confidently, "Let's do it." She pulled JT into her lap and kissed his cheek. He smiled and looked at doctors just as confident, "Let's get 'er done." The family chimed in, thanked the team and headed home. Ty leaned into Amy as they walked out the car, "Did you see my mom, she seems to be so confident and happy. I really believe she is 100% committed and her strength amazes me." Amy smiled, "That young boy holding her hand is the reason for that."
