Chapter One Hundred Thirty-Four

I'll Do Anything For You

A/N – Hopefully, everyone is happy to see I am back on track after my little step back in time. I always enjoy writing about the kids and their school activities and I have had a lot of request for pregnancy updates with the two sisters. I continue to move through my storyline but enjoy bringing some things from the past, like Sandra, back into the mix. In a small-town things seem to come around and I just came up with that on the fly, I hope you liked the connection. I also really had fun tying all of the pictures into the story as well. Although they used to complain about it, I expect that now they are probably happy Lou was so insistent. Can you just imagine what the house looks like with all those pictures and now adding the kids. I envision it as being amazing. I will continue to finish up the school year strongly and tie in some Amy/Ty work stuff I have a twist in mind so hold on to your hat, really hold on. It will be a ride for sure and get us to the birthdays and all the summer activities. Please keep me updated on your thoughts and ideas. I sincerely appreciate your support and loyalty. On most typical Saturday nights, Rusty spent his time with the love of his life, Haley Trudeau, and her security team. He truly loved her and one day planned to ask he to marry him. He knew her parents wanted her to finish school and he respected that, but it was becoming more and more difficult to wait. He knew that her parents liked him, especially her mom. It didn't hurt that they got a lot of feedback from Amy and Ty that supported him as a good person and partner for their daughter. He could wait because she was worth it and he knew she felt the same way. This weekend Haley was on a school trip with her class north of Banff at a wildlife center. So the rest of the ranch hands drug him along for their regular Saturday night at KO's. Before he met her, he was a regular too but since then had made the decision that she was much more important. The boys razzed him about it but they understood and were even a little jealous. It seemed a little more crowded than usual with several ranch hand groups from other ranches along with some other cowboys and the arrogant group of wanna be rodeo stars. He really despised them as their arrogance was a joke. He watched as they moved about thinking that every woman wanted them and challenging everyone to a game of pool or darts. He laughed as he looked around at all the happenings and was so happy with his life and his girl. He was sitting at the bar when the older bartender/owner started a conversation. "You guys are from the Miracle Ranch, right?" Rusty smiled, "Yes sir we are, I guess the shirts give us away." He laughed, "How are Ty and Amy doing, I haven't seen them in a bit. You know Ty was quite the pool legend here, there weren't many people that could beat him. And Amy she was the sweetest and best-looking girl this place ever saw. You want to hear a story about them?" Their interests perked as he continued. "Well from what I hear they had kind of broke up for a bit because of another girl and this idiot Chase Powers. He sat here and challenged him to a game of pool for $5000. He needed the money to put a claim on a horse for Amy. Jack Bartlett came in and read him the riot act but then told him to kick his butt, which he did. Things got heated when Amy showed up to yell at both of them but Jack shooshed Ty away to go make the claim with his cash in hand. You know he told me later that was one of the things that brought them back together." Rusty and the other sat in amazement listening to another amazing story about their bosses, whose love story was one of legends. Quietly, Rusty thought of the love of his life hoping that one day they would have a relationship like them.

Back at home, Amy and Ty were sitting on the couch, Ty having a beer and Amy having some juice. After dinner, the kids took care of night check so they could relax. Amy leaned into him sighing heavily so Ty had to speak up, "Ok Miracle Girl, what is on your mind. Ever since they left you have been distant." She huffed, "I don't know it just seems like they are at a point where they are in love but seem to need more. Lyndy and I have talked and she really loves him and is struggling with her emotions and feelings for him, in a good way. Ty, she is a responsible and confident young lady and Wyatt is wonderful. I know what will happen one day I just hope they are safe and respectful of each other." Ty chuckled, "Yea I remember you were all over me early on. But it is understandable, I am quite the catch." She pondered his comment and looked in his eyes, "You were kind of irresistible and the best kisser ever and I kind of wanted to jump your bones." She hesitated with a devious smile, "You were kind of Ok." He pulled back in surprise, "Kind of Ok, really? As I recall you thought a little more of me at the fishing cabin when I was sick and in the back of my truck that one night." She again thought of a response, "Well I guess you were kind of great, amazing, a hot lover and so on." He had had enough and started tickling her relentlessly. After they finally settled she whispered, "I really hope they have a magical night, with respect for each other. Ty when we "got together" for the first time I felt like I was on top of the world and completely in love." They smiled and held each other as they heard the group coming in the house in an active conversation. Addie was the first to speak out, "Mom, isn't Blaze on that new diet now, Annie said she wasn't but I made sure her got that new mixture you told me about." Annie huffed, "Adds, I know I just said that I thought it also had some bran mash in it too and you like lost it on me." Amy and Ty sat as they continued to bicker as Maddie and JT just listened shaking their heads. Finally, Maddie spoke up, "Will you two take a break, Blaze got what he needed since I was the one to read his chart while you two bickered." Amy and Ty couldn't help but laugh as JT just shook his head and headed off to his room. Amy spoke up, "Girls it is Ok, I am sure he is fine. Tomorrow dad or I will go over the change with all of you. He has had some digestive issues and we are just trying to help him with that." They calmed and smiled as the three girls headed to their rooms as well. Ty and Amy sat for a bit longer quietly holding each other, so happy with their life and their kids.

As they parked in front of the restaurant, Wyatt rushed over and opened the door for his girl, "My lady, shall we dine?" She giggled as they hopped up the steps and went in to see the hostess. She smiled and took they to their table. Amy and Ty had phoned ahead to make sure they got a private table, one that they had used before. They sat next to each other and had a view of the rest of th tables. The table was decked out with a long table cloth that they slipped under and had nice linens and tableware. Lyndy smiled, "Kind of fancy there Mr. Miller." He whispered, "Anything for you Miss Borden." They nuzzled closer as their bodies touched in several places. He reached down and touched her thigh as a tingle ran up her back. She loved when he touched her and soon returned the favor lightly rubbing her hand on his leg as well. Wyatt was in heaven as he felt her delicate touch. In their own world, they were startled when the smiling waitress cleared he throat. They looked up with red faces as she spoke up, "Welcome to our restaurant Mr. Miller and Miss Borden, we are really happy you came to dine with us tonight. Before we talk about the menu, I have a card to give you, I believe it is from Amy and Ty Borden. I will give you a few minutes" They quietly read it together as both of their eyes misted up. The letter told them to have a good time, enjoy their favorite table and that dinner was their treat. At the end it simply said, Love, Mom and Dad. As the finished they leaned into each other and on cue the waitress came back. She went over some of the specials, got their drink orders and bashfully told them how great the looked together. Wyatt and Lyndy talked quietly enjoying the intimacy of the conversation and closeness. Their hands were always in contact with the other and having their legs covered by the table cloth allowed them to be a little more adventuresome. Wyatt congratulated her for the 50th time for the success in Colorado and she complemented him on his improving horse healing skills as well as his bronc riding. Although she wasn't 100% in agreement, he had been training for the company rodeo bronc competition. She was proud and scared at the same time. The appetizer and entrée were brought to them by an always apologetic waitress, who did it as quickly as possible. Anyone could see that they liked to be together and thinking of her and her husband at that age she was aware and accommodating. They laughed, sharing food with each other. Other patrons in the restaurant couldn't help but notice the love they had for each other and what a handsome couple they were. As desert came, Lydy leaned back, "Oh my god I am stuffed, I may need a wheel barrel to get out of here." He laughed, "Lyndy you have inherited many things from you mom and the ability to eat food is one that you can't deny." She laughed, digging into their shared desert, "Oh I want popcorn at the movie for sure."

Back at KO's the crowd was getting rowdy. The music was loud and the arrogant boasting continued. Rusty and his buddies interceded in several shoving matches after a game of pool went the wrong way. The owner thanked them and along with the waitresses and the bouncer started collecting keys from the folks who shouldn't be driving. He always had a policy that when they felt someone was at that point, he would convince them to turn over their keys before he served them another drink. In their state of mind they all turned them over. He had an old cigar box with little tags that was filled up that night. Rusty and his group got one last beer. They had driven together and the designated driver had stopped several rounds ago. He had a bad feeling about some of the people in the bar who were drunk that he believed still had their keys. So they decided to hang around a little while longer. A little earlier, Wyatt and Lyndy got seats back in a corner of the theater. The wanted to watch the movie but they also wanted a chance to cuddle or possibly more. The theater was half filled so they had some privacy which they each were happy about. With popcorn and a drink to share in hand they readied themselves for the show. Back at the ranch, Amy and Ty made sure the kids were settled. It had been a long day and they were tired but Amy and Ty decided to go back to their spot in front of the fire to cuddle, make out a little and try to wait up for Wyatt and Lyndy. They knew they didn't need to but wanted to see them. In a short time, Ty noticed his wife's breathing slow down as she had fallen asleep. He smiled and soon joined her as happy as he could be. JT was in a deep sleep but soon realized that he was sitting on the turned over john boat sitting along GG's pond at Heartland, He loved that spot and had spent a lot of time with GG learning how to fish. He looked out over the pond and the mountains in the background. He realized he was a pretty lucky kid to live in such an amazing place. He also felt a warm tingle thinking about his family and close friends and how much they meant to him. He realized he was dreaming but still felt good. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed two figures on horses coming his way in a gallop. They were still several minutes away and kid of fuzzy but he did notice that one horse was black and the other was white. He was getting anxious wondering who it was. All was well at the Borden house as everyone else was resting comfortably.

Lyndy was struggling trying to concentrate on the movie as Wyatt was very close to her. She felt his warmth and his strength. She love his strong arms when they held on to her and was impressed with his upper body and shoulders which were getting more and more developed. Farm work was one of the best workouts and she knew he was also spending time at the school gym getting ready for his bronc riding at the Company Rodeo. Without even knowing is she was rubbing his shoulders and chest loving the feel of his muscles. She blushed when she realized what she was doing but he leaned over and whispered, "You don't have to stop, it feels nice." Wyatt was even having more problems keeping his eyes and ears on the movie. He was mesmerized by her. Her hair, beautiful eyes and very feminine body. He continued to glance at her noticing just a little view of her chest and her crossed legs. The dress pulled up a bit and more than once he found his free hand rubbing her upper leg and thigh while the other arm pulled her in tighter. Unknowingly his hand continued to move up to the edge of her dress overwhelmed with the softness of her skin and the strength of her legs hones by dance and ranch work. Like him, ranch work was the best way to stay fit. Occasionally they would lean in to kiss and when that happened their hands got much brave. They were becoming more and more comfortable with each other and that included their bodies. During one of the kisses he inadvertently touched her breast and pulled away in respect. He was surprised when she grabbed his hand and returned it to the place she wanted it to be, needing to feel his caress. Meanwhile her hands were also moving to places of intimacy. She dropped her hand during the heat of their passion onto his lap, feeling his manhood through his jeans. She had felt it before but this was different as she felt the movement of his arousal. Needless to say the movie was not in their thoughts as they continued their sensual embrace. After several minutes the gathered themselves and without words snuggled back to watch the movie. Their breathing heartrates had increased so the respite helped them recover. It was an intimate moment that would be in their memories for a lifetime. As the movie ended, they stood up and put themselves back together, giggling as they did. As they walked out hand in hand they discarded their snacks and headed to the truck. The night had been perfect as they both had big smiled on their faces.

As they walked to the truck Lyndy checked her phone. "Wow no calls or text, I am impressed with my parents. We still have some time so how about a shake at Maggie's. I kind of worked up an appetite thanks to you." He smiled, "That sounds great I am kind of craving some more sweets. You were a nice start but a shake would do for sure." She smacked him and tickled his side. They decided to walk since it was only a couple of blocks. They walked into Maggie's and went to the counter smiling at the waitress whom they knew. She laughed, "Big date tonight? I bet you want to share a vanilla shake." Lyndy giggled, "Yes, how did you know that?" She smiled, "Honey your mom and dad have shared a million of them here so I figured her daughter and her good-looking man would as well. You look so much like her honey." Lyndy blushed and leaned into Wyatt. As they were waiting Wyatt felt a tap on his shoulder. Much to his displeasure the three bullies form the dance stood staunchly behind him. "Well look who it is, the lesbo lovers. It's good to see at least you like women and she is a fine looking one as well." Wyatt stood up defiantly as Lyndy held his arm, "Wyatt ignore them they are just three losers, probably can't find dates for themselves." One of them went to reach for Lyndy and Wyatt smacked his arm away and stood between them protecting his girl. Things continued to escalate and words and pushing continued getting the attention of everyone there. The waitress who was bringing their shake scoffed, "Get out of her you three and go find someone else to bully." They told her to mind her business but she was relentless. Lyndy's shoulder's relaxed when she noticed two rather large men head over their way. She immediately noticed them as two ranch hands from Heartland who were having a late-night hamburger. They walked up behind the three aggressors as one of them spoke up, "Miss Lyndy, are these idiots bothering you?" Her look gave them their answer. He grabbed one of the bullies by the collar and pulled him in close. "First you need to apologize and second you need to leave. His partner and a couple more patrons subdued his two buddies as well. While shaking the young cowboy apologized and them the three of them exited quickly. The two ranch hand tipped their hats as they went back to their meal. The waitress yelled over them, "Boys your burgers are on me, that was awesome." Lyndy and Wyatt calmed down and enjoyed their shake and got ready to leave. As they walked out they went over to thank the two ranch hands. One of them smiled, "Not a problem, we figured we better do something or your GG Jack would give us some grief." She smiled, "Well I will make sure he knows what you did. Who knows he may be nicer to you?" They offered to walk them back to their truck and they accepted. After another round of thanks along with a handshake from Wyatt and a hug from Lyndy they hopped in their truck for the ride home. She laughed looking at her phone. "Looks like we may be a little late so step on it."

At KO's things were settling a bit so Rusty and his buddies decided it was time to go. What they didn't see was that a rather inebriated patron was grabbing his keys so him and his buddy could leave. As they walked out they heard a ¾ ton truck scream out of the parking lot. Rusty yelled at him, "Slow down you idiot!" The driver held his hand out displaying a clear middle finger. As the truck turned on to the main road, squealing his tires, Rusty heard a loud bang, something that he would never forget. Lyndy was as happy as she could be. They had a perfect night, got a little frisky, ate a lot of food and she watched her boyfriend defend her honor with three bullies. Not a bad night for sure. Wyatt sat happily holding her tightly. He loved this girl with everything he had and daydreamed about their life. He turned onto the road to the Miracle Ranch. A road he had been on a hundred times. As they pulled down past KO's Lyndy noticed two bright lights. In an instant there was a loud bang and the truck moved violently in a half circle coming to rest on the sidewalk. She was confused and hurt but felt a set of arms that had engulfed her in a protective and nurturing way. It reminded her of how her mom and dad would hold her when she was young. She came back to reality as she smelled smoke and felt glass shards all over the cab of the truck. She also felt pain in her right shoulder and her right ankle and her head hurt. She felt some dampness as she touched her head. She felt for a cut but didn't find one. After a few seconds she realized it was blood and it wasn't hers. Coming back to reality she looked frantically at her boyfriend screamed, "Wyatt!" Rusty was the first to round the corner followed by the others from the ranch. Immediately one of them yelled, "That's Wyatt's truck!" Then they heard it, a scream that tore into their hearts. They all realized it was Lyndy screaming his name. As they approached the truck a couple of them went to the passenger door to get Lyndy. She resisted not wanting to let go of him. As Rusty and another one of the hands went to the driver's side they realized that the door was crushed in and Wyatt was trapped and unconscious, still in a cocoon like position. Based on what they saw, before the impact, he had somehow moved his body sideways to shield Lyndy from the impact, basically taking the entire trauma to protect her. The fire department, police and ambulance pulled up. Rusty filled them in on what he saw barely being able to get the words out. The police were manhandling the two drunken cowboys out of their truck which was hardly damaged as it was twice the size of Wyatt's truck. Lyndy was being attended to by the paramedics but kept reaching out for him, calling his name, needing to know he was Ok.

Back at the house, JT was still in his dream. As the two riders got close he noticed that they were his Grandma Marion on Pegasus and GG Lyndy on Spartan. He smiled but he got concerned when he noticed their windblown hair and concerned looks. The quickly dismounted and headed over to sit on either side of him. Grandma Marion had a tear in her eye and GG Lyndy pulled him close. He listened intently as they spoke to him. Amy and Ty were calmly sleeping when a pattering of feet was heard coming down the steps. A very distraught JT stood before them with a concerned look on his face. While they gathered themselves, the three girls headed down as well, being awoken by their brothers loud scamper. He was breathing heavily as Amy grabbed a hold of him. "Baby boy, what's wrong." He collapsed in her arms sobbing and tried to talk, "GG and Grandma said that Wyatt and Lyndy are in trouble and need us. Something has happened mommy." Ty and Amy sat up trying to calm him and their now concerned daughters. As they sat, Ty's phone went off. He said hello and his eyes drew wide simple saying, "We are on our way." He gathered up Amy and the kids and filled them in, "Girls, Wyatt and Lyndy have been in an accident and we have to go. Annie and Addie I need you be big girls and take care of Maddie and JT until we have Katie come over. I know you want to go, but we don't know everything yet. Lyndy is hurt but is talking and responsive." He hesitated, "Wyatt is hurt a little more so mom and I need to get to the hospital. Once we know what is up we will send for you but it is best that you wait here until that." A shocked Amy was gathering some stuff to get on their way and not able to interact with the kids or Ty. Maddie went to help her as her hands were shaking and she was mumbling. Maddie grabbed her hand to calm her, "Mommy let me help you." Ty and Amy put on some different clothes grabbed what they needed and headed out. The kids sat in shock and Addie called Katie and asked her to come over given her a brief reason why. Katie already knew and was on the way. Dusty had called Clay and asked that he meet him at Wyatt's truck because the police needed it moved so she figured he could drop her off. On the way she called Georgie, Lou and GG making sure everyone was aware of what happened. Lou, Lisa and Georgie decided to head to the hospital as others were called and told that when they heard anything they would let them know. The entire family and close friends were ready to help the Bordens with whatever they needed. Not much was known but none the less they were all committed to be there.

Lyndy was still beside herself as they moved her to the ambulance. She continually called for him as the paramedics told her she needed to calm down. They calmed her and said he was in good hands and that he was a hero. By covering her he saved her from serious harm. She smiled meekly and whispered, "That's because he loves me." She finally succumbed to the pressure and laid down. She was awoken when another gurney was brought in next to her. It was Wyatt and he was on a back board, with a neck brace bandaged up in several places. He had several IV lines in but he was breathing on his own. She heard the paramedic yell, "Let's get going and let them know to meet us at the ambulance bay. He needs to get in to surgery stat." Lyndy's eyes watered as she stared at him. He looked so pale and alone. She just wanted to nuzzle into him and tell him she loves him. The one paramedic spoke up, "Honey you can talk to him and hold his hand. He will hear and feel you, I am sure of it." She smiled and clutched his hand as tight as she could and began whispering to him trying to get him to open his eyes. Although he couldn't speak his hand flinched so slightly that Lyndy couldn't feel it. She had to be strong for him now more than ever. The paramedic told her that her parents would meet them there. She continued tying to distract her, "Lyndy what do you remember?" Lyndy move her eyes away from him for a moment. "We were heading home from our date very happy. We had a really good time. When we turned the corner from Maggie's and past KO's I saw a light and them heard a loud bang and glass was flying everywhere. I must have blacked out for a second but when I woke up Wyatt had his arms wrapped around me like a cocoon. He protected me and now look, he is really hurt bad." She smiled calming her as her story confirmed what the emergency teams, Rusty and the ranch hands saw when they approached the accident. Somehow this young man was able to move to his side just before impact and shield his girlfriend. They looked at each other in amazement and she smiled, "Lyndy, I know it looks bad now but the doctors will take care of him. He is a hero and probably saved both of your lives." Lyndy smiled weakly and went back to focus on her love, continuing to whisper his name, kissing his hand and pleading with him to wake up. As they pulled up there was lot of commotion and they were separated. She screamed his name trying to get to him. Soon two strong arms grabbed her from behind and pulled her in closely. She looked up to the two people she needed the most. Ty whispered as Amy rubbed her back, "We are hear honey, we are so glad you are Ok. Mom will stay with you as they look you over and I will go check on Wyatt. As soon as I know anything I will find you both." She collapsed in her mom's arms and the nurse brought a wheel chair over and they took her in to the examination room.

Back at the accident scene Clay pulled up and saw Rusty and the guys talking to the police looking over Wyatt's truck. He hopped out and instinctively bro hugged him and the others. The police asked who he was and he said, I am family. They went over a few things with him and he gave them information about contacts and phone numbers. They had to move the truck and is was moveable but not drivable. The owner of KO's, all of them and others pushed the vehicle into KO's parking lot so it was out of the way. Before they moved it Clay took a bunch of pictures and asked about the other driver. They said he were arrested for drunk and unsafe driving and were in jail sleeping it off. Both the driver and passenger's blood alcohol level was three times over the limit. Clay had Dusty ride with him and followed the rest back to their bunk house. After he knew they were Ok he and Clay went to the Borden house. When they arrive they found a sleepy Trent and his mom there. He hugged her and got a very upset Katie in the truck to head over to the hospital as Dusty went back to his bunkhouse. He know he wouldn't be able to sleep with the vision of his friends so badly hurt. Mallory was sitting with the kids keeping them occupied. Trent convinced JT to go to his room and when Maddie checked they were both asleep. The girls sat in shock anxious to hear how Wyatt and their sister were. Mallory talked to them until her phone buzzed. It was Georgie so she picked up and put the phone on speaker. "Guys, Lyndy is Ok. She has a small cut on her forehead, has a sprained ankle and a deep bruise on her thigh. They're cleaning her up and she will be done in a little bit. Your mom is with her." Relieved but not able to talk Mallory took control. "Why are they cleaning her up was she bleeding?" Georgie asked her to turn off the speaker and as Mallory listened she shook her head in understanding. She put it back on speaker and she told the girls to try to be patient because they wouldn't know much about Wyatt until morning. She continued, "I know you want to be here but your mom says she is going to try to convince Lyndy to come home for a bit since Wyatt will be unconscious for a while." Maddie laughed quietly, "Yea like that will happen." Georgie chuckled and said goodbye. The four of them sat quietly and finally Addie asked her. "They were cleaning Wyatt's blood off of her weren't they?" Mallory looked down debating her answer. She looked at them, "Yes they were, Wyatt shielded her and saved her from more harm." They sat together huddled on the couch supporting each other for what was going to be a long night.

Wyatt lay unconscious as Amy and Lyndy stayed with him. Lyndy refused to go home so after a while Ty decided to go home and wait to see what tomorrow brought. As Amy walked him out they talked quietly. She hugged him tightly as he got in the SUV and she whispered, "I can't believe this has happened Ty, I hope he wakes up soon. Lyndy is so traumatized and I am worried about her." Ty smiled after a loving kiss. "Tomorrow will be a good day, I can feel it. I need to follow up with the police and Clay is going to take care of his truck and get it to the shop. I want to make sure it is fixed before he comes home." She smiled and after a final kiss she headed back in and Ty headed home. Wyatt felt as though he was just beyond awake. He felt Lyndy several times and heard her sweet voice. They last thing he remembered was her scream and moving to cover her. After that nothing. He wanted to answer her but could barely move his hand as she held it. As Ty walked in his three girls ran to him for a big hug. Mallory smiled as he came to her with a hug as well. "Ty I can stay in Lyndy's room. Trent is with JT sleeping soundly in his room and I don't want to bother them. Plus I can get some breakfast in the morning for you guys as I bet you have a lot to do. He smiled and hugged her again thanking her. The girls followed their father upstairs asking a load of questions. He brought them into his room and spoke to them quietly, filling them in on Lyndy and how Wyatt was doing. They went to bed but a few minutes later they came back and asked if they could stay with him in their big bed. Although Amy and Ty tried to avoid this he welcomed his girls and needed their combined strength tonight. He was relieved that Lyndy was Ok but concerned about Wyatt, a boy he had come to love like his own son. Although it would be a restless night the Bordens and guest slept as well as they could. Back at the hospital, Lyndy finally closed her eyes. The hospital had brought a cot in for her so she could lay close to him. Amy sat in the room in a pretty comfy recliner and after a while she slept as well just after Ty sent a pick of him and their three sleeping girls in their bed. She sent back a smiley face and a big heart. She loved her husband and now more than ever the kids would need their love and strength.

After a restless night for everyone Amy awoke as the doctor came into the room. A few seconds later, Lyndy woke up as well still holding Wyatt's hand. The doctor spoke to them quietly, "Good morning ladies I wanted to give you an update on our little hero here. If you haven't heard the media picked up on the story and have been calling him a hero for what he did for you young lady. The police report was shared and a spokesman said that they were perplexed how he was able to position himself the way he did in a split second. Anyway, last night the first thing we did was remove over 25 pieces of glass from his back, shoulders and neck. Luckily, most were not that deep but he did need some stiches. But the good thing is they will all heal. The impact caused him to have a few cracked ribs and a severely dislocated shoulder. Our biggest concern is a pretty serious bump and scratch on his head." He hesitated and continued, "Lyndy that is where all the blood came from and we repaired the wound but we are unsure yet of how much damage their was to the brain. Luckily, the way he moved to protect you also limited the impact on his spine and neck and we feel good about that area. So bottom line we need him to wake up so we can assess the impact of the head trauma." As the doctor left Lyndy went to hug her mom and best friend. "Mom, he is going to make it, he is strong like dad. During our date we were kind of making out and I noticed how much stronger her was with all the work getting ready for th rodeo. I guess that strength is what save us. I love him so much." Amy smiled, "Well I can tell you from experience, he would do anything for you and last night he did exactly that." They sat quietly thinking about the men in their lives and what they meant to them. Amy's phone buzzed and she picked it up and after a few hushed words she handed the phone to Lyndy. She said hello and her dad spoke softly, "Hey little nugget, how are you doing and how is Wyatt?" She smiled and teared up as her dad used the name they used to call her when her mom was pregnant with her. "I am Ok, just a little sore. Wyatt hasn't woken up yet and the doctor just left. Once he wakes up they will know more. I don't have the strength to get into the details but he is pretty lucky actually." She hesitated and began to choke up, "Daddy he saved me and got hurt more because of it. He is so amazing and he needs to wake up." The phone was quiet and he asked her if it was Ok if her sisters and brother said hello. After a calming greeting from all of them she said goodbye and handed the phone back to her mom but not before they all said the loved them both and would see them later. Amy walked out to the hall to give them some more details. Lyndy nestled in closer to her boyfriend, holding his hand and whispering in his ear, "Please wake up Wyatt, we all need you, I need you and love you forever."
