Chapter One Hundred Thirty-Six

The Visit, Time Away

A/N – With Wyatt on the mend and a lot of stuff coming up my hope is to be able to cover everything that I need successfully. As I continue on this journey with you, I continually receive some great ideas from you all and I have incorporated many of them along with the storyline I have mapped out. We will be getting to the end of school and then summer but have a few things to tie up, which I hope to do in this chapter. Moving forward we have a lot of activities over the summer that should keep me busy for the next chunk of chapters. The family continues to develop not only as individuals but as a team. Each of the Borden kids are strong individually but as siblings, children, family members and friends they continue to grow. I hope to keep focusing on them and their growth. Ty and Amy will always be there for them as all parents should but they still are partners, there for each other no matter what. Their life story is the foundation of the family and it's legacy. I look forward to hearing from you. Mature Content Enjoy!

Jack and Lisa gathered their things and went to get off the plane in sunny Florida. Jack frowned, "Sure is warm here and where are the mountains?" Lisa poked him, "Shush you, let's get to the baggage claim and get a ride to Val's place. I just texted her and let he know we arrived." He smiled at his always efficient wife and grabbed her hand. They approached the carousel and were startled to see Ashley there standing with a man who seemed to be a hand at Briar Ridge Florida. She ran over to them, "Lisa, Jack good to see you. Lee will help you with your bags and we have a car outside to take you to the ranch." Jack smiled and gave her a hug, "It is good to see you but this is unexpected but appreciated." She laughed, "Well you know my mother, everything has to be first class." Both Jack and Lisa noticed she seemed a little different than the last time they saw her, much more at ease. The drive was full of happy banter for the trio. Ashley asked about Amy and Ty and was deeply concerned when they talked about the accident. She laughed, "Sounds like Ty with his plane crash and bike accident. And Amy with her blindness scare. They were always there for each other." As they approached the ranch Lisa and Jack marveled at how beautiful it was. They pulled up to the main house but couldn't help noticing the stables, jumping rings, round pens and open pasture. Ashley smiled, "We have over 1000 acres here Jack, quite a spread." He laughed, "I'll say but Ashley I have to ask, how is your mom." She put her eyes down as they misted up, "She is acting strong Jack but her time is coming near. She was so happy that you decided to visit her because she has a lot to talk about. She is resting now so how about I grab a golf cart and show you the place. Lee will take your bags to your room in the family wing of the estate." Jack decided not to pursue it with her so they headed out for their tour. During the tour Ashley told them that her mom had decided to transfer Jesse to the European operation in northern France. It was much smaller and pretty easy to manage. "Mom felt that my brother needed some time away. He is actually doing well and has a girlfriend, but we will see, he is Jesse Stanton." She took a deep breath, "Mom restructured the operation here and I will be appointed CEO in a few weeks and my husband, Seth, will be our lead attorney. I have mixed feelings but the kids are excited to be moving here, it is pretty nice and Disney World is close." They looked over the rest of the property and went back to the house. Jack and Lisa settled in their room and Ashley said she would bet them when dinner was ready. As they sat resting Amy and Ty called and asked how things were going. Lisa spoke to her on the speaker, "Guys this place is beautiful and very state of the art. Val has built quite an operation here. Ashley told us that Jesse is now living in Europe and she will be named the CEO in a couple of weeks." After some silence Amy spoke up. "Well that's not surprising, Ashley is more than capable. Anyway we have to get ready for our trip, we leave in the morning after the kids head off to school. It is Wyatt's first day back and Lyndy has toned down her hovering a little." Jack laughed, "Hmm, kind of like another young lady I know." Lisa added, "You two have fun without kids for your overnight trip." They all laughed and said goodbye. There was a knock on the door, it was time for dinner.

After a good night of sleep the family gathered for breakfast. It was full of the normal chatter except for the focus on Wyatt's first day back. He was ready but Lyndy was a little concerned. He felt much better but she couldn't help but hover a little more than she should. She helped him pack his bag and carried it down for him. She brought him a plate for breakfast and kept asking him if he needed anything else. Amy and Ty were going to take all the kids to school today because they were hauling the large trailer and bringing their horses along with two horses they were dropping off on the way that Amy had rehomed. Wyatt's truck was ready, but he still needed a little time still. This worried Lyndy as well. As they ate, Amy became more aware of her hovering and asked her to get some coffee. She pulled her aside in the kitchen to talk to her, "Lyndy I love you and Wyatt does to but you need to chill and give him some space. The doctor is more than Ok with him going back to school so you need to as well. Honey I know it is scary and I know what it is like for you, but you have to trust him and let him do things on his own." Lyndy leaned into her mom, "I am just so scared, I can't get what I saw out of my mind." Amy held her, "Lyndy when I came upon the plane that dad and Scott had crashed in I thought he was dead. I tried to run to it but Peter stopped me and told me to wait with Lou. When I saw the door open and you father jump out I ran and held him, never wanting to let him go. The picture of that plane haunted me for years and trust me it was hard not to hover over your father as well. In time it will get better but remember, Wyatt was there too." Lyndy understood as they headed back into the dining room with coffees. Lyndy sat down and smiled at Wyatt and the others. Amy took some time to go over the plan while they would be gone. "Mallory and Trent will be staying here with you so you mind what she says." Looking directly at the younger kids, "And you also mind Lyndy and Wyatt, they are also in charge." Breakfast continued and everyone noticed that Lyndy had eased up on her constant attention to Wyatt. Finally Maddie had to say something, "So Lynny I guess mom gave you the ease up speech?" Lyndy's eyes went wide as Amy, Ty and Wyatt suppressed their laugh. She stuttered, "No we just got coffees, I am more than aware that Wyatt is Ok and I don't need to do everything for him." The room went silent and they started cleaning up. As they walked out together Wyatt went to hug Lyndy and whispered in her ear, "I kind of liked the attention, I hope you keep giving me some of it. Maybe a kiss or two." She pulled him into the hall and kissed him deeply. He stepped back, "Now that is what I am talking about."

As they woke up Jack and Lisa still had last night's dinner spinning in their heads. When they went into the dining room Val greeted them warmly. They were startled when she came to them being pushed in a wheel chair. She looked very frail, not the lively spirit they had known for a long time. Her eyes still glistened with energy but her body was not as alive like it had always been. She joked, "I am quite a sight, aren't I. Cancer really sucks but it won't be too long for me to deal with it." There was a calmness in her voice but Lisa looked at Ashley, who was very upset. A man, who she assumed was her husband pulled her in for a hug of support. Val laughed, "Let's eat we have a lot to talk about. Jack and Lisa, I had the chef make some Albertan beef stew with Heartland beef. And since I had to have it shipped, I also ordered some saskatoon berries for pie." Jack smiled, "Sounds yummy. I am hungry." They all laughed and settled into dinner. Val had some nice french wine that Lisa really appreciated and the talk was about the old times back in Hudson. Val asked a lot about the company and how it was doing. She laughed, "You know I always knew that Amy and Ty would be a force once they got their act together. They were definitely something when they were young. As was my little girl over there. Jack, remember when Ash got drunk at the Rodeo party and tried to drive home. Your daughter, with just a learner's permit took her keys and they wrecked when supposedly a deer ran in front of them. And who save them and lied to protect Amy, Ty of course. He was always there for her and look at them now." Ashley blushed, "Really mom, that is the story you want to share. One thing you let out was that Amy and Ty weren't even together. When they pulled up to the wreck he ran to Amy and held on to her. I think Kit got the message loud and clear that night and their days were numbered." Val laughed, "Well let's see, a barrel racer or the Miracle Girl, I think Ty made the right choice." Seth looked at all of them, "Miracle Girl?" Ashley poked him and told him she would fill him in later. Lost a bit, he laughed as they continued to eat. The rest of the night went well as Val seemed to not only enjoy the visit but looked a little more alive. She asked Lisa and Jack to join her in the study by the fire. Ashley and Seth understood her and told them all good night. As they left Jack gave Ashley and extra special hug that she appreciated and as Lisa hugged her he shook Seth's hand as well. As they walked to their room Seth whispered, "They are good people honey." Ashley smiled, "Lisa Stilman is an amazing self-driven woman, and Jack, he is the finest man I have ever known." Back in the study they settled with a glass of really good whiskey. Val laughed as she toasted the two of them, "Well here is to a bright future for my family and yours, less me of course. And Jack before you get all sappy I am more than Ok with my fate. I have made peace with my daughter and sent my son off where he can't cause any harm to anyone. I don't completely blame him, he is a lot like his father." She hesitated and continued, "So, I have an idea for the future."

Caleb had the trailer loaded up and their bags were stowed as well so the Borden family headed out. After dropping off the kids at their schools the couple headed down to Staveley to drop off the two rehomed horses. Once they competed the transfer they were heading up to Okotoks, hoping to get there midafternoon. Dropping the horses off made it an overnight trip but they weren't complaining. Amy and Ty had loved working together ever since they decided to go into business together as they talked sitting along the pond at Heartland. Their dream continued to be reality although early on there were challenges, but none that they couldn't work through. Their mutual respect had grown over the years and today they were in sync and one with all decisions. They both believed that the kids centered them and gave them purpose to move forward as a couple and a family. The ride to Okotoks was pretty quiet as they both were deep in their thoughts. The held hands and as always Amy sat as close as she could to her husband, just like she used to in the old GMC when they were young. Amy laughed remembering when her grandpa would tell her she was sitting to close and she could distract him from safe driving. Amy snapped out of her daydream as Ty spoke up, "I think this is it as they pulled into the ranch and headed up to the ranch house. As they approached two young girls came running out the door to greet them. They were followed by a mom and dad who were telling them to slow down. As they shut down the truck Amy and Ty got out and were greeted by the girls, who they realized were twins and looked to be around 5 years old. They screamed, "Mommy it's the Miracle Girl, she is really here!" The one girl spoke up, "I am Sadie and this is my sister Sarah. We are really excited you came to help us." Sarah spoke up, "Do you want to see our ponies?" The two young parents caught up trying to settle the kids down. They were related to Bethany Masters and were referred by her. The mother smiled, "Sorry, We let them take off school day to meet you guys and they have watched the Miracle Girl videos along with others from your company. They are kind of fans. I am Sue and this is my husband Jimmy. We are so happy you agreed to come here. We bought them each a pony and unfortunately they aren't trailer broken. The girls can ride them but we have to be with them." Amy smiled, "Well I am Amy and this is my husband Ty. We are more than happy, actually we have 5 kids and a little time away is always good. We have four girls and a boy and we have a set of twin girls as well. I guess we need to go see these ponies girls." The girls screamed again as the each took one of Amy's hands, "Let's go" They spent some time with the horses and the girls as Amy asked a lot of questions. The girls had a lot of answers but it was sure to her that they loved their horses that they had named, Daisy and Duke. It was close to dinner so Amy and Ty asked if they could stable Blaze and Triumph and the family begged them to stay. They accepted as Amy felt she could get more background on the ponies and the riders. They offered them a room but they had a room booked in town for a little alone time. As the left they told the girls that first thing the next morning they want to go on a trail ride with the family, which they were excited about. Amy and Ty headed out even more excited about their night together.

Back at the Miracle Ranch, Mallory told the kids that dinner would be ready in 45 minutes. The kids were studying and Wyatt was telling everyone how weird his day was. He was excited to be back but was overwhelmed all day with questions about the wreck and accolades about his bravery. Lyndy did her best to deflect some of the intrusions but it was difficult. At dinner, the kids were having a good time as they all really liked Mallory and her stories. Near the end their parents called asking how Wyatt's day was and reminding them to mind Mallory and don't cause trouble. They all smiled and assure them all was well. At Briar Ridge, Jack and Lisa were still reeling from the discussion with Val. Basically she was offering to sell 51% of Briar Ridge in Hudson to them and she would keep 49%. She wanted to keep her share so it could be passed to Ashley and Jesse. She wanted the Heartland Equestrian Expereince to take over day to day operations with some stipulations, the name wouldn't change and they kept the majority of the staff. It seemed like a good deal and they planned to go over the details the next day. Amy and Ty checked in and went to their room. It was nice but they didn't care as Ty carried in the bags, and then carried his wife to bed. He quickly removed her clothes and then his. "I have been thinking about this all day. Amy Borden, I really want you right now." She giggled, "Well I have no clothes on and am in bed with you, I think you have me." He began to kiss her and overwhelm her with his touch. She could barely catch her breath as he pleasured her with his fingers and kisses to her perky breast. She was excited at his aggressive approach and responded with moans and calling out his name. He was so gentle with her but brought her to several climaxes before she could gather her wits. She saw an opportunity and began her attack. She rolled him over and began hitting every spot he wanted her to. As they continued they were ready and she crawled over him and lowered herself on his stiff member. The sensation was amazing as each of them moaned and cried the others name out. She bounced over him as her breast followed with her movements. They were in sync as she reach several more orgasms. She felt him pulse as he released inside of her and she screamed out his name. Needless to say, the night as young and their love was on fire. Tomorrow morning would come early for the two lovers.

The next morning as the alarm went off Amy groaned rolling over on her still naked husband. "Why did we stay up so late, I am so tired." Ty laughed, "Well Miracle Girl, you didn't seem to be complaining last night." She smiled looking into his eyes with love. "Well I need coffee, can you get the pot going? I am going to hop in the shower. He laughed, "I can do that but I think I should join you, it will save time and water." She blushed, "I think that is a great idea." After a little morning fun and a few cups of coffee they headed back to the ranch, picking up some bagels and doughnuts on the way. The minute they pulled up two girls again ejected themselves through the door and ran their way, "Are we going for a trail ride soon." Sue stuck her head out the door, "Girls, let them come in and have a coffee and look they bought doughnuts." Again they screamed, "Yes doughnuts!" Amy and Ty followed the overzealous kids into the house looking forward to their day. Mallory stood in the kitchen exhausted smiling at Lyndy, "Thank you for helping me, I have no idea how your parents do this every day. Lyndy laughed, "It's all about delegation, mom assigns each of us a task and we all have to get our bags ready for school and make our own lunch. Maddie helps JT though sometimes." Mallory huffed, "Thank god because this would wear me out doing this every morning." The kids came down and sure enough their school bags were ready and each of them did their thing. Wyatt and JT got everyone drinks, Addie and Annie set out the plates and silverware and Maddie made sure the platters were ready to have all the food put on them. After breakfast was finished they all cleaned up. They all headed out to the barn to take care of the horses and Trent went with them. When they came back Mallory was drinking a coffee and watched them pack their lunches and Maddie even helped Trent. She looked at Lyndy and smiled, "Pretty impressive." After the kids all went to their buses and Mallory headed to the Day Care. Jack and Lisa work up as the sun came through the window. The each slept very well, even with the news from Val still buzzing in their heads. The talked a while before they went to bed. Lisa woke up and Jack's side of the bed was empty. As she got up Jack walked in with two cups of coffee and some croissants with butter. She smiled, "Wow, room service" He laughed, "Well I wish I could take credit but I explored and found the kitchen. The staff got this ready for me, this place is something." Lisa smiled, "And this room is amazing." They sat and enjoyed their coffee and pastries on the deck as Jack finally spoke up. "So, we are in agreement right?" Lisa smiled, "Yes but I want to call Lou and Max to ask them a few questions. I want to have all of our ducks in a row." The smiled and got dressed for the day.

As Amy and Ty sat with the family enjoying a cup of coffee, they watched the family closely. Amy's mom had always said in order to help a horse you need to understand their environment. What they saw were two kids who were exceedingly energetic and inquisitive. Ty and their dad took them to the barn to see the ponies and introduce the girls to Blaze and Triumph. Amy took a few moments with Sue. "I have to say Sue, those two are a bundle of energy. Our youngest daughter is like that too. Do they ever calm down?" Sue spoke calmly, "Well they are both on the autism spectrum, and suffer from ADD and hyperactivity. They as both amazingly smart and the teaching team at their school say they a highly intelligent. But, when they get excited and are together they can be a handful." Amy smiled, "Well, Ty and I have worked with kids of all types of diagnosis and I am firm believer that a horse can be an amazing way to keep them in control." Sue blushed, "Well I can't lie, Bethany said you guys had, so being selfish, I was hoping you could see how we could do that with Daisy and Duke. They both come from pretty calm sires and we were thinking we could use that to our advantage." Amy smiled again, "Well time for us to be honest. We kind of figured the girls were pretty excitable and that was the case. I have some things that we can introduce to you guys and the horses that might do the trick. When our little Maddie was there age I worked with my niece to find a horse she could use as way to settle. Her horse, Mystic, might be the calmest horse I have ever worked with and to this day they are great together. Let's see if we can get your girls that type of relationship. Blaze and Triumph are also calm so when we ride we will make sure the girls see that type of relationship. I want to make sure they understand that they need to really focus on that." Sue sighed and began to get misty eyed. "Amy that would be wonderful, we love them so much and we have seen a lot of different therapist. Actually several mentioned horse therapy. Let's go see how they are doing." When the two mothers walked in they found that all horses were saddled up and ready to go. The girls had ridden them a few times and felt comfortable with their helmets on. Sadie yelled at them, "Come on guys we were waiting for you, let's ride. Ty and Jimmy helped the girls on their ponies who were about 10 hands high, not yet full grown. The adults saddled up and off they went. The girls rode between Sue and Amy and the fathers followed. Sarah and Sadie asked Amy a lot of questions about being the Miracle Gilr, her kids and her horse. All of a sudden Amy drew the attention away from her. "Ok girls tell me one thing about your horse you like and one thing you would like to be able to do with them." They pondered the question and gave her answers one at a time. Sue noticed that when ask the question they calmed a bit and their riding became more controlled. Sara wanted to show jump and Sadie wanted to be a barrel racer. They were definitely horsey girls. After several more questions Amy stopped the group at a large pond. "Let's give the horses a break and a drink and we can sit, have some lunch and talk."

Jack and Lisa went down for Breakfast. Val, Ashley and Seth were already there along with another person. Val greeted them, "Lisa Jack, good morning, how did you sleep?" Lisa smiled, "Val the room was beautiful and we slept well, at least I did. This old man would just as well be sleeping in a tent out with the cattle." Val laughed again, "Yep, you can't get the country out of the cowboy, that's for sure." She looked to the new guest, 'This Reed Larsen, he is one of our lead councils and will go over the particulars of the deal. He already sent a copy to Mr. Walters in Colorado to review. He and Lou will join us a little later when we go over everything. But before all of this business stuff let's eat." They ate on the patio as it was a beautiful morning. Lisa sat right next to Val and they talked quietly as the others talked about Heartland, Briar Ridge and their Florida location. Jack and Lisa were extremely impressed with what they had built. But they couldn't help but notice that Val was fading. Almost on cue, Ashley came over to her mom, "Mother, we have an hour or so until we will meet, Why don't you rest. Reed can you take my mom to her room. Jack and Lisa, Seth and I would love to show you the place. Val smiled as she was completely exhausted. The full time nurse actually came and took her to her room to rest as Reed had received a note to call Max. As they walked Ashley seemed distracted but finally found the ability to talk. "Sorry I am so distracted, my mom is really fading fast. At her last checkup, the doctor said she has only a month or so." She leaned into Seth as tears began to fall. Lisa comforted her but then she ran into Jack's strong arms, arms that had comforted her in the past. "Ashley I am proud of you. You have been so strong. I know from my experience with my wife Lyndy what it's like to see someone you care for fade away." He took a second and took a deep breath as Ashley held on to him. "I am also proud of you for fixing things with her. I know years ago it was hard for her to have you so distant. She can be a hard women but she has always loved you." They walked around a bit longer and then headed to the meeting room. As they entered they saw a large screen with Lou and Max on Zoom. They smiled and greeted them as Val and Dean came in to get seated as well. Val spoke up, "Well if it is Ok, Angela, my nurse is going to stay here with me as well." Everyone's heads nodded in agreement. Lou greeted Val, bringing a smile to Val's face. She always respected Lou for being so independent for all those years. Val chuckled, "So you finally made the decision to marry Scott, it's about time." Lou smiled, "Well it took me a while but I couldn't be happier." Dean introduced Max to Val and she smiled, "I hear you married Ty's poor mom, what a horrible life she has had. Ashely tells me she is happy but is also battling cancer. I only met her a couple of times but you tell her she is in my thoughts." Max smiled impressed with her sincerity. Dean gather them in and went over the rest of the meeting. "So, Max and I will go over the proposal, then we will have lunch and the car will take you guys to the airport a little after 3:00. This will give you three some more time to visit" Everyone understood until Ashley interjected, "Dean, Seth and I will take them, they are family."

As they wrapped up their little picnic Amy took a walk with the girls. Sue, Ty and Jimmy watched as she was very animated in the conversation and amazingly the girls were listening to her every word completely. Sue grabbed her husband's arm and whispered, "Ty, how does she do that?" Ty smiled watching his amazing wife. "Well I wish I completely understood it but with 5 kids you get a lot of practice. We also spent a lot of time raising out two nieces so she is kind of an expert. Since your girls love those horses, I expect she is given them things they need to do to gain their trust. That effort should help the girls focus more and calm them a bit. We found with our daughter, that when she did that she began to be less hyper and more in tuned with her horse and her life." Jimmy smiled, "Well she is living up to her name, look at them. Even their body language has changed." The three new friends headed back to the group as Sadie confidently said. "Amy gave us a lot of ideas and things to do with Duke and Daisy." Sarah added, "We are going to go back and try to join them." Knowing she didn't say it right Amy said, "We are going to have them join up with their horses." By the time Amy and Ty were ready to go home, the girls had successfully joined un with their horses and learned T-Touch and proper brushing techniques. When they joined up Sue could barely keep it together as tears flowed. As they were leaving the girls hugged both Amy and Ty but Sue hugged her and whispered in her ear, "That was amazing Amy, you are amazing." Amy gave the girls a lot of things to do and told them when they get trailer ready, she expected them to come to the Miracle Ranch to show everyone how they were doing with Daisy and Duke. As they drove away Amy held Ty's hand and he whispered, "I think you have two new fans."

The meeting with the Stanton team went very well. Max and Dean went through the details of the plan and a timeline. Basically over the next 6 months the H.E.E. team would take over the operations side of Briar Ridge in Hudson. It would keep the name but be a subsidiary of the Equine Center, similar to the alignment with Fairfield. They would continue to breed high performance horses like Fairfield but many of their training programs would be modified to line up with Amy and her team. Long term they would adjust their processes but Lisa and Jack assured her that her existing staff would not be impacted. Max and Lou gave a brief overview of the employee benefit and ownership process which really was impressive and something they knew the team in Hudson would love. Lou discussed the marketing part of the deal. Max and Dean said they would prepare some press releases and would work with Lou and Ashley on the employee communications to make sure the staff completely understood how things would work. Val, Dean and Ashely were impressed with the consolidation of purchasing and expected big cost savings as well as other shared aspects of the business. All in all it was good for both sides and the new alignment would most likely bring increase growth for Briar Ridge and the rest of the company. As they wrapped things up Lisa committed to bring it to the Board in the next week but was confident they had a deal. "Once we get everyone on board, could we meet at Briar Ridge in Hudson to sign the paperwork. Max, I hope you can make it up and Val, I assume Dean, Ashley and Seth will be there too. Val smiled, "Well I am so happy we worked this deal out do amicably." She put her head down, "My time is short but I hope we can get it all put to rest soon." Lisa and Ashley walked up to her and put their hands in each of hers. Ashely was unable to speak so Lisa quietly told her, "Val you can count on it." The Board will be meeting at the end of the week, so I expect we can have the papers drawn up and taken care of a week after that." Val humbly smiled, "Thank you." Lisa and Jack spent the remaining time they had talking to Val privately. When it was time to go Lisa hugged her and left Jack to say his personal goodbye. "Val our road has been long. You know we were always there for each other when our spouses passed away and many other times through the years." Val smiled in his embrace. "Jack take care of my little girl, she needs you." His smile told her that they would not let her down. The drive to the airport and flight home would be tough as their minds were all focused on Val. Ashley gave them each big hugs and thank them for coming down. Jack looked at her, "Ash, if you need anything you call us, you hear." She smiled reaching in for one more hug for a man she loved like family.

Before they took off, Lisa sent an email to the Board for a meeting at the end of the week. She also called Jenn to ensure the room was free and asked her and Ben along with Katie and Clay to attend. Max would be joining on Zoom as well. Amy and Ty were just a half hour away from home when she got the email, Amy looked at Ty, "Well I guess the meeting with Val and Ashley went well, we have a Board meeting this Friday. She apologized but wanted to make sure everyone made adjustments to their schedules as we all need to be there." He smiled, "Yea, I kind of figured they would want to go over whatever they came back with. Sounds like it might be a good deal and the meeting is just a formality. Did you text the kids?" She smiled, "And Mallory, it seems our children were good just a little overwhelming. I think we owe her some Trent sitting so she can go out with her new man." Ty laughed, "Yea, our little Mallory. We know her taste are good, she had the hots for me." Amy rolled her eyes, "Really Ty, she was 12." They laughed as the pulled up to the house and the kids came out to meet them. Maddie screamed, "Mom, Dad, your home. How was it, were the horses good, how about the family?" Amy calmed her, remembering the conversation she had with Sue earlier in the morning. "Mads, calm down, we will tell you all about it at dinner." Lyndy laughed, "Well I think we broke Mallory, we probably need to order pizza and salads." Ty and Amy smiled and he gave his credit card to her. Ty went over to Wyatt to shake his hand and whispered, "How are you feeling buddy." He half smiled, "Better, still a little sore though. Lyndy has lightened up a bit but she is all over me about the fact I am still thinking about entering the bronc riding at the company rodeo. I told her they would be easy broncs and I would be Ok, but she's not buying it." Ty laughed, "Wyatt, she is a Borden, just charm your way to it. It works for me all the time." Amy overheard the last comment and slapped his shoulder, "Oh charm your way? Wyatt he is full of it." Annie laughed, "Your busted dad." They laughed and when the food came they enjoyed a fun dinner. Amy filled them in on the family they met and their horses. She said that when they get the horses good with a trailer they would come and visit. As they all sat around Amy and Ty looked on quietly as the table was active and fun. They could feel the love in the room, even with Mallory and Trent. Amy grabbed Ty's hand under the table tightly and they looked at each other as happy as they could be. They loved their life, their family, their friends, their kids and most of all each other.
