Chapter One Hundred Thirty-Nine
Party Boy, All For The Kids
A/N – Definite highs and lows in the last chapter. Not to be a broken record but I always liked the Val character and I hope I handled her passing with respect. And then there is our girl. Quite a birthday weekend ending with another step forward in their relationship. The truck gift came from nowhere actually but I think it was pretty cool. I will always strive to build the relationships between Amy, Ty and the kids and that truck will definitely be a good step in that process. And I also really liked the napping segment with Lyndy and Lilly. My continuing goal is to show what an amazing young woman she is. Time to move into the hectic summer. The business continues to grow but the family continues to make the adjustments needed to keep up with the workload. A lot of horse stuff on the way with show jumping, rodeos and competitions. It should be fun for sure. Keep the feedback coming, the more the merrier. Enjoy!
SPECIAL NOTE – I have a consistent group of reviewers whose feedback, opinions and ideas are a blessing for sure. I respect them all for their support and really enjoy are open communication. I would love to hear from more if you. Let me know what you think, give me your ideas on storylines or just say hi. If you choose so, make sure your profile is set up for return comments. I respond to every bit of feedback I get. So, thanks in advance for letting me know what you think. This has grown into something I never believed was possible. A lot of that is because of the feedback I get from you all. Thank you.
As she opened her eyes it took a second to realize where she was and who she was with. The sun was up and lighting up the inside of the teepee. She felt him behind her as their bodies were huddled together. As she gathered herself she giggled as his hand had found its way onto her chest. She was afraid to move but somehow was able to reach her phone. She opened the screen and her eyes grew wide, "Shit!" Back at the Miracle Ranch prep was underway for party number two. Outside of some of Lyndy and Wyatt's friends the crowd would be similar to Friday night. Steven was there with the twins helping out but as always Lou and Maddie had everything under control. The guest were to arrive at noon as the party was a lunchtime one. Marnie was bringing Maggie's fried chicken and all of the sides. Amy, Lisa and Lilly were baking away in the kitchen and Jack and Max were overseeing everything. Ty was helping Caleb and Rusty moving some chairs and table's around and set the music up. Steven had every intention to help but the twins were not being cooperative. They made sure everyone knew it was their little brother's birthday and running around. Lou and Katie were back with Georgie making sure the star of the show was cleaned up and dressed for his party. Plus they were helping each other as their pregnancies were continuing to move on. Maddie was going over something with Lou and realized something. The kids knew about Lyndy and Wyatt's camping date but she wanted it to be low key so they were sworn to secrecy. It was about an hour to the party and they were nowhere to be found. She quietly went to her mom and got her attention, "Mom, they aren't here yet, have you heard from them." Amy checked her phone and there was no message. She smiled at Maddie but was a little concerned, "I am sure they are on their way honey. Can you check on your dad and how they are doing and let me know." Having something to do changed her focus as she sprinted out the door. Amy laughed as they could hear her telling her dad and the others that everything was not set up right. Lisa laughed, "She is getting more like Lou every day." Amy stepped out the door and got Ty's attention. "Have you heard from our two campers. I don't want to cause a stir but they should have been here by now." Ty thought for a second, "Well I don't want to bother them, but if we don't hear anything in a half hour, I will sneak over there." She smiled, "Ty, don't embarrass them, remember we were Ok with this." He whispered and kissed her cheek, "Yea but I am still the father of a 16 year old that just had an overnight camping trip with her boyfriend." She looked at him, "And don't forget how much you love them both."
Wyatt just about jumped out of his skin, falling out of bed and knocking over the nightstand and light. "Lyndy what's wrong!" She sat up wrapped in the sheet and showed him her phone. "Wyatt's the party starts in an hour, we overslept." He reached over and hugged her as the sheet slipped a little, "Well, I kind of didn't want to wake up. Holding you and being close was amazing Lyndy." She began to melt looking at her shirtless boyfriend standing there in his pajama shorts but somehow composed herself. "We have 10 minutes to get dressed and clean up. Should I text my mom?" He thought for a second, 'Why don't you text both of them and just tell them we overslept, well maybe just tell them we will be there in 20 minutes." She laughed, "Yea sleeping in might not work." They worked at a furious pace, getting there change of clothes on, making themselves presentable, cleaning up and packing the truck. Amazingly they were ready in 15 minutes and started the 5 minute ride home. Addie was the first to notice Wyatt's truck rolling down the driveway a little quickly. She laughed, "Well look who decided to show up, finally." Annie shushed her, "Adds chill, remember Lyndy asked us to keep their overnight on the down low." She smiled, "I know, but we have to give them a little trouble." They girls carried on with their work laughing as Maddie was yelling at their dad, Caleb and Clay. When they pulled up, JT saw them and ran to the truck. Lyndy hopped out of the car and he jumped into her arms, "Hi Lyndy, it's party time, again." She hugged him, "Hi buddy, how is everything going." He smiled hopping into Wyatt's arms, "Good, just stay away from Maddie, she is crazy. Did you have a fun date?" JT knew they were camping but didn't understand the overnight thing, for him it was no big deal. Wyatt held him up and spun him around, "We had a nice time, but let's get ready for Nate's party Ok." JT ran off and the couple, arm in arm headed into the house. Amy smiled and whispered, "Good morning you two, kind of cutting it close?" Lyndy blushed, "We really did oversleep but mom I can't wait to talk to you. We had a wonderful time." Wyatt headed out side to rescue Ty and the other guys. Lyndy walked into the kitchen to see some serious baking going on. She went to hug Lisa and Lilly as Lilly smiled, "Well young lady, you look rested, how was the date?" She smiled and blushed a little, "It was amazing, Wyatt is so wonderful and kind. He cooked a great dinner and we watched the stars forever. I don't think I have ever had such a nice time." Her blushing increased as Lisa laughed, "Well honey, he is a wonderful young man. You two remind me so much of your mom and dad, less the excess drama." Lilly smiled, "Well he is definitely a keeper but Lyndy take it from me, love develops with patience and tolerance. Don't rush things because it won't end up well. Love him and be his friend, the rest will follow." Lyndy began to tear up as the four women, hugged. She felt like the luckiest girl in the world and whispered, "I love you guys."
Lou, Katie, Georgie and Nate pulled up just as guest were arriving. They held off to make sure the birthday boy was rested. Georgie also need some time as well as she was not feeling 100%. Noah and Hannah headed over to the truck to see their mom and the birthday boy. Steven, concerned for his wife went to her to help her out of the truck. They hugged and he whispered in her ear, "Hey are you Ok, you look tired." She smiled, "Well the birthday boy needed a little mom time before we came over. Thank goodness mom and Katie were there." Still not convinced he took her to their seats and told her she would get her something to eat and drink. The Weber's sat with the Borden's so the girls could help with the kids. Amy sat next to Georgie as they ate and Steven never left her side. Amy talked quietly to her, "Georgie, do you need to lay down, you really look tired." Georgie leaned into her, "No, I just need to eat something, I will be fine. Actually I am feeling better. Really I am." Not 100% convinced, Amy, Ty and Steven quietly decided that one of them would be with her for the entire party. After a great lunch, it was present time. They set up chairs for them so everyone could watch the unwrapping. Maddie, Noah and Hannah with some help from Annie and Addie sorted through them and began bringing them up. Lyndy volunteered to keep track for them so thank yous could be sent out. Noticed by many, Wyatt was never far from her side. Georgie seemed much better as they opened present after present. Noah was beyond cute as he opened every present screaming like it was his favorite. Maddie made sure he thanked the giver although most understood he was laser focused on his presents. He was having the time of his young life as Steven and Georgie beamed with pride. Once finished a huge birthday cake was brought out with one big candle. Jack started a resounding verse of happy birthday and everyone joined in. When the finished Noah's brother and sister helped him blow it out as everyone applauded loudly. Amy, the Borden girls, Lou and Lisa handed out cake and ice cream for everyone, with Noah, who was on his mom's lap getting to go first. Everyone was having a good time and after cake the kids all went to play and the adults sat around talking. The pregnant sisters were the center of attention as Katie was just starting her last trimester and Georgie was 3 months behind her. Amy was the first to notice Georgie. She seemed not to be able to focus and was looking flushed. Ty and Steven saw it next and soon Lou and Katie came over as well. They tried to keep it quiet but Georgie leaned into Steven with tears in her eyes, "Something is wrong."
The family went into action. Ty went to get the big SUV as Steven, Amy, Lou and Katie helped get her in the truck. Amy called Lyndy over and told her they were going to the hospital and to let GG, Lisa and Scott know. Lyndy smiled, "Mom, we got it, just go. And keep us updated when you can." Lou called ahead to the hospital and call Georgie's OBGYN. She was comfortable but was still not feeling right. She sighed, "Great my little boy's first birthday and his mother ruins it." Katie laughed, "Stop it G, he was having the time of his life and he has plenty of love around him." Georgie smiled and leaned back into Steven's chest. As they pulled up a nurse and doctor were standing there with a wheelchair. They moved into the ER as Ty and Amy parked the car. It gave her a chance to call back home to see how things were going. She smiled meekly at Ty, "You know she is going to ask." As Steven watched, they medical team began taking vitals and looking her over. The nurse smiled, "Well honey you have a good heartbeat and so does the baby. Your blood pressure is a little low but not too bad. The ER doctor reviewed her medical history and asked questions about the concerns that they had found earlier. He asked, "So what supplements are you on, I see her that your doctor prescribed some to you. And your workload? I know you work with horses and it says here you were asked to lighten your load. How is that going?" After Georgie answered his questions her doctor came into the examination room. Georgie immediately felt more at ease. "Hey Georgie, I hear you are feeling a little off. Good thing your vitals seem good and so are the baby's. But girl, you blood pressure is down. Have you been taking your meds regularly?" She laughed and looked at Steven. "Doc, my husband is a doctor and even though he is an animal one he is all over my supplements and medication. It is a little annoying." The doctor laughed, "Annoying is good. Well we took blood and I want to look at a few more things so we can figure this out." Georgie frowned, "I hope it doesn't take long, we were in the middle of our son's first birthday party." Steven stepped in, "Georgie, we need to focus on you, I am sure Nate has about a hundred people fussing over his right now." In the waiting room Katie, Ty, Amy and Lou waited patiently. Katie looked up and saw Clay sprinting in to see them. She jumped up and give him a big hug as he spoke out of breath, "How is she?" Lou spoke up, "We don't know but she did look better when we got here." He caught his breath, "Well I was sent here because Nate wants to know where his mommy is and is getting upset and so are Hannah and Noah." They sat conflicted on what to do. Amy spoke up, "Clay give us your keys and here are the keys to our SUV. Ty and I will go home and take care of them. I think a fun night with the Bordens is just what the Weber kids need. Keep us posted." After a round of hugs Amy and Ty headed out.
As they were driving up, Amy's phone went off and she saw Lou's name. "Lou, what's up?" She smiled as she listened, "That's great I will let the kids and everyone else know." After she hung up and as they parked she grabbed Ty's hand, "Well it seems that Georgie wasn't doing anything wrong. All they need to do is adjust her supplements. She had an checkup next week and the doctor said that she would have determined that the adjustment was needed. They have already stabilized her and they will be heading home in a half hour or so." As they hugged there was a banging on the door. Noah and Hannah were trying to get their attention and a crying Nate was in Lyndy's arms. They hopped out and pulled the twins into a hug and Ty took Noah from a stressed Lyndy. Amy kneeled down and took the twins in her arms and Ty joined them with Nate, who kept asking for his mommy. Before the twins could begin to question her she calmed them, "Guys, your mom is Ok and in fact will be home soon. She was just not feeling well and you know with your new brother or sister in her tummy she needs to be careful." Noah whispered, "Is the baby Ok?" Amy smiled and pulled him in for a hug. "Your little sibling is doing great, your mommy just have to take some new medicine and she and the baby will be fine." Hannah laughed nervously, "Man, having babies is hard." The group laughed as Ty spoke up. "We have an idea, let's get everything packed up, even some food, cake and ice cream and go wait for your mom and dad at your home. I think they would like that." Noah added, "Hannie, we can make some signs for her." Lyndy put her hand on his shoulder, "That's a great idea, we will all help you." They packed up and Ty and Wyatt drove the group with all the stuff over to their loft home. A little over an hour later the hospital group came home to a clean house, happy kids and welcome home signs. Georgie came up the steps and teared up seeing her kids, Jack, Lisa, Scott and the Bordens all smiling happily. Steven helped her to the couch as she was still a little weak. Amy and Lyndy had food set out already but Georgie was focused on her three kids who were on her lap under Steven's watchful eye. After everyone and settled the visitors headed out to leave the family alone. Lou stayed for a bit making sure her daughter was Ok. Georgie hugged her goodbye holding a sleepy Nate. "Thanks Mom, I love our family."
Over the next couple of days things settled and it was time for everyone to get back on task. Amy and Ty's days were filled with a lot of horses, examinations, surgeries, healing those horses and their owners. Amy had learned over the years that most of the time she needed to help an owner just as much as their horse. They made it a point to start and end their day together and sneak in a lunch now and then with some cuddling. Even with 5 children their intimate relationship was stronger than ever so discretion was top of mind. They got caught a lot when they were younger and now, even though the kids knew the rules it still existed. They had become skilled at being discrete, which actually made them even more in love. What they shared was a love that was limitless and forever. Everyone around them saw it and used it as a benchmark for their lives. Jack and Lisa felt that their love was the reason that the company was so successful. They were content that when they passed, the legacy of the family would continue even stronger. The family was also very busy. Annie and Maddie where in practice mode for the upcoming show jumping season as the first show was the weekend before their dad's big birthday. Along with the other kids, they were also getting ready for the Second Annual Marion Fleming Special Kids Jumping Competition which was in two weeks. Amy, Lyndy and Georgie were working with Annie and Maddie as well as Gwen and Sylvia. The invites had gone out and they had participants from all of the Western Canadian Provinces, Montana, Wyoming and the Dakotas. In all there would be over 60 competitors in three age brackets. Plans had begun as everyone was on it. The media was all over it asking for updates. As they started sending out information they realized that the facilities they had couldn't handle the size of the event and were surprised when the received a call from the Calgary Stampede Arena. They offered the use of the facility for free only asking for branding rights, parking and concessions. Tickets went on sale and it was expected that it would be a sellout. Although it was a little more work the famliy and staff were so proud it didn't matter to them. Vendors were knocking down the door to get involved in the event with free goods, only wanting the chance to set up a booth at the event. It was so much work that the Canadian Downs Syndrome Association and the location provided support to organize things. The event had grown to a level of national recognition but still had a local flare. The family couldn't be more excited even though there was a lot to do. But not as excited as Gwen and Sylvia as they committed 100% to their practice sessions.
More good news came the next morning as Amy' phone rang. Her eyes lit up when she realized it was Ellory Whitepath on the other end. Ty heard a lot of jabbering on the other end as Amy finally spoke. "Ellory that is awesome and I hope you can get here before the competition we are holding at the end of next week for kids with special needs. We could really use your help." She put it on speaker making sure she knew it was just Ty. He smiled and spoke up, "Hey Ellory, I supposed you are going to come and help us?" She laughed, "How could I turn down the Miracle Girl. Between her and her mom, my father would be upset if I didn't say yes. I can stay up until the end of the year because I know Georgie is due in November. It can't be permeant though as the elders from the tribe want me to continue my father's legacy by helping the horses on the reservation and doing clinics. Seems our family name is good for the tribe's status within the other native American groups throughout Canada." Amy was pleased and continued, "I also have a lot of younger trainers to be that I need your help with. Katie is in her third trimester and Georgie has had some minor issues." Ellory was concerned, "Is she alright?" Before Amy could answer, they noticed Georgie at the door scoffing, "Hey Ellory, don't let them mess with you, I am fine but I am so happy you can help. Between my mom, these two and my wonderful husband I can barely go to the bathroom without concerned looks. When are you coming?" She laughed, "Yea your mom is something else for sure. Guys I will be there first thing next week so I can get acclimated and help with the competition, which by the way I have already heard about on the internet. I am bringing my trailer so I can just stay there." Ty interrupted, "There is no way you will stay in your trailer, we have the Dude Ranch, Fairfield and heck we have and extra room so we will figure that out." She said her goodbyes and Amy hung up. She looked at Georgie who had a relived look on her face, "I am so happy she will be here, don't go all protective on me but I really need to take care of myself. This one is going to be a lot of work." They all smiled understanding her comment.
It was a couple of days before the competition. Ellory settled in quickly and Amy and Georgie noticed how the younger trainers looked up to her. Amy, Ty, Lisa and Lou had already gone to the Calgary Stampede several times to work on logistics. Hotels near the arena offered cheap rates for the travelers so all the competitors and their families were close and their horses were stabled as well. Gwen and Sylvia were ready as Amy and Ty makes sure that their families were included in the entire section of seats that was reserved for their staff and their families. Amy was sure the two of them would have the biggest cheering section. The Downes Syndrome association had over a dozen people helping out and they had more than enough judges who had volunteered from all over Alberta. On the final run through, they made sure all of the sponsors banners were prominently displayed and the official banner for the competition was front and center with the Equine and H.E.E. logos as well. As requested the arena set up a vendor section where they could have booths. The Equine center also had one, which worked well for Georgie and Katie who would be manning it. The media blitz was unbelievable and the Calgary Morning Show actually planned on having a live broadcast the morning before from the arena. They asked for several of them to have interviews along with the organization representatives that were the main sponsors. Lou was sitting with Amy and Ty as they were talking to the manager of the Arena. "Well it seems we may have to look at dates for next year. This thing has grown to a point where this will be the only place to handle it." He smiled, "Well we would love to continue to host this and I can assure you that you will not need to pay anything. The publicity has already brought 4 additional events this year. Seems supporting your cause has given us the opportunity to expand our business." They all smiled and agreed that in a month or so they would start looking at dates for the 3rd Annual Competition. Along with the competitors, the Bordens spent the night before the event at of the hotels that were being used. Caleb and the ranch hands had delivered the horses the day before and by request Amy had Blaze so she could do a liberty session during the first intermission. By 10:00am the arena was just about filled up. A professional rodeo announcer, who also volunteered his time would be emceeing the event. Caleb, Rusty, Wyatt and some of the ranch hands were in the stable area to make sure the horses were ready and the riders got the assistance they needed. Lou, Casey, The Borden Girls, Mallory, Soraya, Haley and a few others worked the check in tables so everyone got signed in and got their numbers. Cass, Ellie, Jenn, Bethany and Mandy were on kid duty. Steven, Will and Ben floated around to make sure everyone was Ok. JT and Trent were with Jack, Lisa, Max and Lilly, who felt strong enough to attend, ensuring they had what they needed. And finally Ty and Amy, who were considered the face of the competition, handled the main sponsors, media and political figures in attendance. As the announcer welcomed everyone, Lisa and Amy approached the podium to a resounding applause.
Lisa took the podium and in her usual professional way, welcomed everyone on behalf of the company and gave a short story on the reason for the event, "My great-granddaughter and Amy's daughter came to us and asked if we could host a small event for two of her friends who have Downes Syndrome and some of their other friends with challenges in their young lives. By the way, this girl was recognized a few years ago by the Albertan Downes Syndrome Association as their person of the year for her support of her friend, who was being bullied. Maddie come on up here." An embarrassed Maddie came up and stood next to her mom as everyone clapped. Amy took over, "So in just its second year, the Marion Fleming Special Kids Jumping Competition has grown into what we have here today. My mother, Marion Fleming, her mother Lyndy, and Lyndy's father were renowned horse healers and their legacy has been passed on to several members of our family. This is the way we chose to honor all of them. We are excited to have over 60 participants from all over Western Canada and the Northwestern U.S. We are overwhelmed and humbled and hope everyone enjoys watching all of our competitors, who are all winners." She smiled as she looked out over the arena where all of the competitors sat on their horses. She smiled, "Before we begin we have special visitors for everyone." The lights dimmed and the multiple video screens came alive with the Canadian Flag. As the picture came on a smiling Justin and Maryanne Trudeau were front and center. "Good morning everyone, if you don't know my name is Justin Trudeau and this is my wife Maryanne. We are honored to be with you and when we heard about this amazing event we had to send a message of congratulations. We have been friends with Amy and Ty Borden and their entire family for several years and actually Maddie and I are pretty tight, right Mads." She giggled and tucked into her mom, embarrassed. Maryanne laughed, "Well everyone we have seen a first, Maddie Borden embarrassed." Everyone laughed as she tucked into her mom even more. He continued, "This competition is another example of this family's commitment to each other, the community, Alberta and all of Canada. Their organization provides a wealth of services and has been recognized as a leader in the care of horses, both from a medical and holistic/herbal perspective. We felt obligated to recognize this organization and our dear friends. All the competitors that I see here on the arena floor, best of luck. I am sure Amy has already told you are all winners. You are brave and fearless members of your communities and of our great country. We salute you." He stopped as everyone applauded. "Families, enjoy cheering your loved ones on and cherish this moment. Amy and Lisa, thank you for allowing Maryanne and I to be a part of the outstanding event. We will be visiting our friends in a few weeks and I can't wait to hear how the competition went. Gwen and Sylvia, we expect a full report from you two." Now it was time for them to blush. "God bless all of you and god bless this amazing country we live in." After another round of applause the competition began.
The announcer got the crowd fired up as the competition began. Sylvia would be competing in the first group, who were the younger and less experience kids. Gwen would be in the second one since she had been jumping for a bit and even though she was younger than most in the middle group, Amy had talked to her parents and she felt that she and her horse Silver, were more than ready. Sylvia had been training on Mystic, Maddie's horse and had made great strides, so Maddie was excited to see how they did. Even though it was a competition the Borden kids understood that it was more about being a part of this then winning. As Sylvia was getting ready the group heard a scream come from her and Gwen. Trudy was there to compete and they haven't seen each other since she moved to Vancouver. The girls were overwhelmed with joy, hugging and giggling. Maddie came over, "Trudy I can't believe you are here!" She looked at her mom not understanding why she hadn't told her and just got a shrug back. The four girls lined up for pictures as all four families watched the four girls with joy and love. In the stable area the horses were given a last look over by the H.E.E. vet team to make sure all was well, which was standard practice. Caleb and his ranch hand team got the horses ready as well as the riders who began preparing for their turn. Sylvia and Trudy were third and fourth in their group. With the younger competitors, people were placed along the course to help if needed. The jump were set at 18 inches, which was considered to be a level they could all get over. It was Trudy's turn and the three friends saw her off telling her she would do great. As she started Amy and Georgie noticed that she had definitely been practicing. Her confidence and smile were infectious and Maddie, Gwen and Sylvia cheered her on loudly. She moved through the course gracefully clearing every jump. As she ended the run the crowd erupted and her three friend were beside themselves. They ran over and had one of many group hugs that day. With all of the competitors, times would be kept but not shared with everyone. If parents wanted them they would be provided just for them and no others would be shared. Still on the high of Trudy's performance, Sylvia was next. Ty came over to be with Amy as they watched from the coach's area. He whispered in her ear, "Hey, I missed you, and I have to say, you looked really hot up there on stage." She blushed and smacked his arm leaning in to kiss his cheek. A frustrated Maddie yelled over to them, "Coach, time to focus!" Sylvia's name was called and she came to the line. Mystic held his head high and Maddie whispered in his ear, "Go get 'em boy." His head drew higher as the run began. Sylvia's skills had improved since last year and she started strong breezing through the early jumps. As Amy and Ty watched she whispered, "She is getting stronger as she moves through the course and Mystic is amazing." As she completed the course just like with Oliva the four friends met in a hug. The four friends made sure they watch and cheered for every competitor. The first group finished and the intermission started. The announcer excitedly spoke up, "Well we have a treat for everyone. Not only is Amy Borden a renowned horse healer and friend of the Prime Minister, but she also has unmatched horse skills. A round of applause tor the Miracle Girl and her horse Blaze."
In a blur Amy came galloping out bareback on Blaze, circling the ring. She came to the center and went though some reigning movements spinning around effortlessly. She jumped off the horse and then both of them bowed in unison. The crowd erupted in applause. Amy had a head piece microphone and spoke to the audience. "Thank you very much and how about Blaze, he is a special horse. My mom taught me how to reign a horse years ago. She said it was the best way to gain a horse's confidence and was how she could help them. When she passed we were rescuing a horse named Spartan. If you look at the company banner Spartan is the black horse on the left and the one on the right is my mom's horse Pegasus. Pegasus helped me train Spartan how do join up with me and eventually learn the demands of reigning. When I retired him I had him help me teach Blaze not only to reign but to do liberty work." She took a second, as she remembered Spartan. "Spartan passed a few years back now Blaze has to carry on Spartan's legacy. Liberty work is a method of bonding that goes well above any other kind of link with your horse. My husband Ty used to watch Spartan and I and he used to say that I was dancing with him. Now I have Blaze and he is fun to dance with. Also I have been able to dance with Ty's horse, Triumph as well." On cue Ty came walking out with Triumph and went over to Amy and Blaze. He went to her side and kissed her cheek. She laughed, "Hey good looking." He smiled, "Well thanks you are pretty good looking to." She giggled leaning into to kiss him on the lips, I actually meant Triumph." Laughter erupted and as the kiss went on a little longer than it should as hoots and hollers followed. But in the midst of it they heard a familiar voice yell out, "Mom and Dad everyone is watching!" Amy looked at her embarrassed daughter Maddie and stuck her tongue out to another round of laughs. They hugged one more time as Ty whispered, "Watching you reminds me why I love you so much." She blushed and shushed him away. For the next ten minutes, Amy, Blaze and Triumph danced around the arena like a ballet. Amy was smiling but focused on keeping the horse in sync. As she finished she got Blaze to lay down and Triumph to walk over him. She climbed up on Triumph and stood up with her arms wide, like she was flying. The crowd erupted in applause and the family gushed with pride.
After thanking the Miracle Girl for her amazing performance, the announcer told the audience that the second group would start in 5 minutes. In the stable the riders were getting ready to take their turn to go through the course. Lisa, Amy and Georgie were asked by the media for a quick press conference about the event, it's amazing growth and what the future looked like. As they called the first rider to the line, Lisa interrupted the group of reporters, "I'm sorry, we need to go and watch these amazing kids. Let's do this, on the next break we will meet with you formally and answer any questions you have. Gwen was scheduled to go last so she would be able to watch and cheer on all of the riders before she ran the course. The crowd was very engaged as the next round got underway. As her turn neared she went to get Silver and do some final grooming. Sylvia and Maddie had already started when she went to get her ready. She mounted her horse and smiled broadly as Maddie told her, "You got this!" Amy, Katie, Georgie and Lyndy joined them as she was called to the waiting area to wish her good luck. After a few minutes she was called to the line. She started her run with confidence as Silver soared over the first three jumps. She continued on gaining speed as she went through the rest of the course. As she came to the last jump, it seemed like Silver was flying as he cleared it by over a foot. As she landed the crowd burst into applause realizing that although not timed, she definitely had the best run of the day so far. She trotted over to the stable area and jumped into her mom's arms and then ran to Maddie and Sylvia. As promised Lisa and the group decided to meet with the reporters after the program ended and all the awards had been given out. One question hit home to each of them. They were asked to tell them what their most favorite part of the day was. Lisa smiled, "Watching the Miracle Girl was amazing but my favorite part was in the beginning when all of the riders were on the arena surface with their horses. The pride in their faces is the reason we do this." Amy went next, "For me it was more personal. When my daughter's friend Gwen finished her amazing round, she trotted back to the stable with the biggest smile on her face. She jumped off Silver and ran directly to her mom. As they hugged tightly, her mother looked over to me and mouthed, thank you. As a mother of five children seeing that reminded me how important our kids are to us and how much we love them. This competition is so special and I think we will be doing this for a long time."
