Chapter One Hundred Forty-Two
Love Cures All
A/N – Well as expected, the party was a blast and also it will carry over into this chapter. I had several inspirational side stories throughout the chapter and I hope you all enjoyed them. I'll take some time saying goodbye to the Trudeaus and make sure the trip to Banff has the right amount of time committed. We'll keep an eye on the kids and I expect a little of Lyndy/Wyatt is due. And as usual the traditional coming home excitement. I plan to continue to develop the characters as individuals but as I hope you have seen the strength of family is the most important if this legacy. I have so many things to cover over the summer in addition to the Company Rodeo. A family trip may be in order, some continuing business growth opportunities, a challenging client from the past with a horse who needs them, a baby and a whole lot more. My commitment is to treat each storyline with the respect and time to make sure it is enjoyable for you. I write for all of you and continue to enjoy and cherish your feedback. Mature Content Enjoy!
As soon as they woke up Lyndy and Wyatt headed over to the jumping course to see if her was anything they could help with. She was confident that her mom would want an update when they got home. As they pulled up, they were awestruck. The last of the tent was coming down and the tables and chairs were packed in a trailer to be taken back to Fairfield. As they got out, Caleb laughed, "I knew you two would be here to check up for your mom. You know that will be the first question for you guys when they get back." Clay, Rusty, Ben, the ranch hands and kids from the youth program who were helping laughed hysterically. Lyndy smiled, "Yes we all know who Amy Borden is for sure." Lyndy and Wyatt thanked all of them and headed back home. As the pulled up, Maddie, Annie, Addie and JT were heading back from morning chores and met them on the porch. Inside the Trudeau kids were packing as Maryanne, Haley and Justin were helping with breakfast. Their parents were expected in an hour so things were on schedule. The security team was already to go and patiently waited by the group of SUVs. Wyatt grabbed Brad and they pulled out several small tables and chairs and put them on the porch. Lyndy went over to the security team, "Good morning, my boyfriend and Brad Trudeau are setting up the porch for you. My parents will be hurt if you don't enjoy some breakfast with us. And the bonus is it is being made by your boss and his wife, so there's that." She noticed the head of the team begin to shake his head and stopped him. "Borden women are very confident and don't even say you won't eat breakfast with us, even if it is on the porch. You will because if you don't my parents would not be happy and you know they are pretty close to the Trudeaus." He smiled and thanked her and said, "Of course we will ma'am." She scoffed, "It's Lyndy." Lyndy walked inside with a swagger as Maryanne laughed, "So I assume the team was a little tough on you? They like to keep things formal for sure." She smiled, "Oh no they will be eating breakfast on the porch. They began to protest but I told them you were making it, my parents would be unhappy and that they worked for you. They finally saw my point." Haley laughed, "That's my girl." Justin laughed smiling, "Maybe I should offer a job to you, if you can get those guys to break protocol, you can do anything." They all laughed and carried on waiting for the lovebirds. Maddie walked down and frowned looking at the clock, "They have one hour."
Amy was the first to open her eyes as the room began to lighten up. She was a little groggy as it seemed to her that they just fell asleep. She was going to move but she soon felt a very clingy husband and his naked form behind her. She raised her head a little and smiled noticing clothes, sheets and rose petals strewn across the room. The plate of chocolates were hanging precariously off the edge of the table and she caught a glance at her phone which was on the floor next to her. Her man moved and she felt all of him, especially his hand that instinctively cupped her breast, tickling a bit. She needed to see what time it was but really didn't want to move for two reasons. She didn't want to bother him and it really felt good. But she was a little worried about the time because she didn't remember if she set an alarm. It was the last thing on their minds last night. She leaned over and luckily got an alert and the phone lit up. Her eyes widened as she saw the time and rolled over to face her sleeping husband. She tried to stay focused as the feeling of her body rubbing his was taking her breath away as she could feel everything and in the morning other parts of him were woke up already. She took a gulp and whispered his name, "Ty, wake up, Ty." He grumbled and forced his eyes open. Realizing where he was and what he felt brought a huge smile to his face as he pulled Amy in even closer. In a deep voice her whispered, "Seems like someone is ready for some more lovin." She giggled and reached down to feel him, "Well that would be you for sure but we have a problem, it is already 9:30!" He let that register, lost in the bliss that was his very naked wife as his eyes opened wider, "Shit!" Like a well-oiled machine they hopped out of bed and began to clean up. Amy said breathlessly, "Ok we need to clean up, shower, get packed and dressed and be gone no later than 10:15." He laughed, "Amy do you realized we are hurrying around with no clothes on. The distraction of watching you bounce around it a little over stimulating.: She giggled nervously, "Ty focus and keep yourself under control. We have to be there on time or will never hear the end of it." She quickly kissed him and repeated their to-dos, "So here's the deal, finish cleaning up, have a shower, get dressed and packed and head over to the farm." He laughed, "Outside of the getting dressed part I am all in. And avoiding the wrath of Maddie is an incentive. But I can't lie that there may be a little of this in the shower." He pointed to his body and jiggled. She rolled her eyes, "Really, well if you don't hurry you may not get a little of this," mimicking his moves. They both laughed and thinking about how much fun they had together and how much in love they were. Miraculously they walked out the door at 10 minutes after and jumped in the truck to head home.
Back at Heartland, Jack, Lisa and Lou were having a coffee talking about the Briar Ridge progress. Scott had already left for the clinic and Clay and Katie left for the Miracle Ranch to work. Max wandered in and immediately Lisa noticed a concerned look in his eyes. "Max, how is Lilly, I heard you guys a couple of times last night." He got quiet, "Actually we need to go to the hospital, she is not well and feels very nauseous and weak. I am really worried." Lisa and Lou jumped up, "We will go help her get ready, if you are Ok we would like to go with you." Lou looked down and asked, "Would you like me to call Ty?" He smiled nervously, "Well she doesn't want to yet but I think we need to decide before they head to Banff." Jack and Lisa agreed as they tended to her and Max and Jack got Lisa's SUV ready. Katie looked over to the house and noticed the group helping a frail looking Lilly into the SUV. She grabbed Clay, "Babe, something is wrong with Ty's mom I think. Look how weak she looks, they are actually carrying her into the car. Should we call him?" He smiled and comforted his wife, "Maybe you should call your mom. I bet Lilly doesn't want to bother them right now before their trip." She picked up her phone and stepped away for some privacy. Clay watched her listening and shaking her head. "Mom said they will call him later because Lilly doesn't want to bother them, you were right." She began to tremble, "My mom said she is really bad and kind of out of it. Max is really worried." They went about their business and Lou promised to let them know when they had any news. She did ask her to privately tell Georgie and Steven so if the news was not the best that they could all be there to support Ty, Amy and the kids. The ride to the hospital was quiet except for Max talking to the team of doctors on her case. Lilly sat between Lisa and Lou for support weakly thanking them and apologizing for being a bother. Jack pulled in, got her wheelchair and help Max and Lisa get her settled. Max went ahead to get her checked in and was surprised to see one of the doctors from her team there on a Sunday. He smiled, Hello Max, I just happened to be on shift today so let's get her in and see what's going on." She went right into a room and the nurses settled her in the bed. The doctor walked in and she was pleased it was someone she knew. Jack, Lisa and Lou went to leave to give them some privacy when Lilly spoke up, "Lisa can you stay?" She smiled assuring her she would stay. Lisa and Lilly had become very close. Max walked out while the doctor began to look her over asking Jack and Lou to hold on contacting anyone, especially Ty, until they knew more. As he came back in he heard Lilly answering questions from the doctor as the nurse took vitals and some blood. He spoke softly to her and Lilly seemed settled but still in distress. He spoke to the nurse and ordered some test, ones that they both were used to. Lilly glanced over to Max and held out her hand. The nurse pulled a chair out and he sat next to her their hands clasped together. Lisa quietly sat watching over the activity, so happy that she had someone to be there for her, something that for most of her life she never had. After they left Lilly closed her eyes to rest and Max lowered his head finally feeling the stress of the morning. Lisa came over and put her arms around his neck as he leaned into her, with no words spoken.
JT, Wyatt and Brad were on the porch and joined by Justin chuckling, "I had to get out of there, too many women." They all laughed and JT was the first to noticed his dad's old truck heading down the drive. He looked at Wyatt's phone, "Wow they are early." Brad laughed, "It must have been a good night, it looks like you mom is almost sitting on his lap." JT frowned, "Yea when they take Old Blue, they always sit like that, it is kind of cool." As they pulled up the four of them stood up as the smiling couple got out of the truck. Wyatt went to get their bag as JT jumped into his mother's arms for a big kiss. After a pat on the back for Wyatt and handshakes for Justin and Brad Ty took JT from Amy and hugged him tightly. Justin laughed, "What no hug for me. Oh and a warning, we are out here because the girls inside are a little overwhelming." They laughed and Amy went to give him a hug, thanking him for staying with the kids. They headed in to hugs, hellos and kisses. They were happy to see Justin's parents as well since after they were finished they were all heading to the airport. As they began to eat Amy chuckled as she saw the security team quietly come into the kitchen to get breakfast. "Let me guess, Lyndy guilted you guys into eating breakfast, I saw the tables and chairs on the porch." They all laughed, smiling and thanking her. Breakfast was lively as they talked about how amazing the party was and the great night Amy and Ty had, less too many details. Maryanne winked at her, "Well, we loved the resort you guys are going to, I'm sure you will like it as well." The families continued to talk about the upcoming company rodeo, Brad's new girlfriend and anything else they could think of. They all got along so well and would miss each other. They took advantage of the few hours they had until Amy and Ty were going to take off and the Trudeaus had to get to the airport. Mallory and Trent would be staying at the Borden's even though some of the kids really didn't need them to but it made their parents feel better. Amy and Ty were really excited about their getaway and kept sneaking kisses and hugs. Addie had enough and laughed, "Really you two can you chill a little, I mean you are going to be together for 4 days." They blushed and Amy spoke up, "Well I can't help that I have an amazing husband who only gets better with age." Maddie and Annie joined Addie in gagging and Lyndy grabbed Wyatt's hand under the table. Just before lunch the Trudeaus loaded up and after way to many hugs they were ready to go. Maryanne was whispering to Amy and they giggled like teenage girls. Ty laughed and leaned into Justin, "I think we will both hear what that discussion was about." The Bordens stood on the porch as the SUV caravan took off down the drive. They would definitely miss their friends. Amy and Ty were planning on leaving midafternoon for the two hour drive. So, they had a few more hours to hang with the kids, check up on some things and pack, although most of that would done already. Everything seemed to be set for their time away and once Mallory showed up, they would be on their way.
Jack and Lou were still in the waiting room talking. Lou started, "I know it is none of my business, but Ty needs to be called before they leave." It would kill him not to know and I understand but Lilly needs to let us call him." Jack frowned, "I know, I am going to say something to Max when he comes out. I wonder why it is taking so long." As he stopped he looked up as Max and Lisa were heading their way. "He smiled, "How are things going?" Max smiled weekly, "She is getting x-rays and some other test done and will be back in 45 minutes. She seems better but I saw this coming. A few mornings ago she really was struggling getting up and seemed disorientated. She brushed it off and blamed the party planning." Lisa added, "When we were all making pies, I saw she looked a little dizzy so she finished on a chair. She can be kind of bull headed like someone else I know." Max got solemn again, "I should have done something this is my fault. I am supposed to be protecting and watching out for her." He leaned into Lisa as Jack patted his shoulder, "My friend this in no one's fault. Lilly is tough and she will get through this. But we need to decide something. Ty needs to be called. They are leaving in a couple of hours and I don't think it would be good to call them on the road or at the resort." Max shook his head, "I agree, when she gets back I will just tell her we are and hopefully it will be Ok with her." They sat and talked, enjoying a coffee and some bagels Lou got for them. As they were talking the doctor came to join them. "Well she will be up in 10 minutes or so. Preliminary x-rays show that there is no new growth, in fact the tumor seems to has shrunk slightly. Her vitals at Ok but some of the other readings seem concerning. Her iron is very low and she came in dehydrated." Lisa interrupted, "Well the iron I understand but the dehydration, that woman likes her coffee and always has a jug of water nearby." Well he smiled, "I believe you but dehydration can also be caused by infection and/or medication. It's like you can be consuming a lot of liquids but you still show signs of not enough. Her white blood count is high, which would show infection but we won't know that definitively for an hour or so. My hope is that we can find the reason for her issue and address it quickly. I know you realize that in her weakened state if we don't get to the root cause, the results, well they won't be optimal." They sat silently trying to absorb what he had said. He continued to speak, "Where is her son and daughter in law? I expected them to be here too." Lisa soke as Max was still thinking about the doctor's diagnosis. "Well, yesterday was Ty's 40th birthday party and last night they stayed at our Dude Ranch. They are leaving in a couple of hours for a romantic trip to Banff, that we got for him for his present. Lilly was adamant that we do not call them and let them go on their trip. We were actually debating that before you came out." The doctor sighed and looked at Max, "I understand that you want to meet her wishes but.. You need to call him." The tone of his voice shook all of them. They sat silently until Lou spoke up, "I will call Amy directly, she will be able to tell Ty better than us." Without a word the all agreed and headed to Lilly's room.
Amy was sitting at her desk alone looking over emails when her phone buzzed. She saw it was Lou and figured she wanted to hear about their night. When she said hello there was a pause on the other end of the phone and a very soft spoken Lou began to talk, "Hey Amy, it's me. We are at the hospital and you two need to come. Amy, Lilly is sick and they have been running test on her. They don't know what it is yet and she was adamant about not telling you two." She hesitated as Amy sat in shock, "Amy the doctor told us you guys need to be here, in fact he insisted. Let me know when you are close and I will come out to meet you. We are in the Emergency area." Amy weakly said Ok and that they would be on their way. She pondered on how she would tell Ty. As she sat, Katie and Lyndy knocked and came in after Amy called to them. Lyndy laughed, "We knocked mom, we know the rules." They both noticed Amy's mood and that tears were forming in her eyes. Katie immediately spoke up, "It's Lilly isn't it. We saw them leave earlier and they had to carry her into the truck. What happened." Amy took some time and told they what was going on. Lyndy took her mom into her arms as she sobbed quietly. After everything that Ty and his mom had been through, this was something expected but still not something they were ready for. Amy spoke, "I have to tell him and we need to get to the hospital. I can't believe this, after all of the fun the last two days now this." Lyndy looked at her, "Mom, we will tell him with you. Let me get Georgie too. We will drive you and Clay will take your truck so you have a way to get home. I think Georgie knows one to the managers at the resort and she will call them and let them know you may not make it tonight." She smiled quietly thanking them. Katie called Georgie and she would be over shortly. Steven and Ty were going over a few horses that needed attention while they were gone and Mallory had the Weber kids. Georgie arrived and texted Steven asking him to bring Ty to the office. The four Heartland women silently waited for them united. As the door opened, Ty immediately saw the four of them but also saw the look on his wife's face. "Amy, what's wrong, are one of the kids hurt?" She shook her head unable to talk. Lilly's issue affected her deeply not just because of Ty but due to the fact that she meant so much to her as well. Lyndy took the ball and spoke softly to her dad, "Daddy, Grandma had to be taken to the hospital. She is stable but they have been running a lot of test to find out what is wrong. She demanded that you and mom not be called." She hesitated and took a breath, "Daddy the doctor said that you and mom need be there." The shock of that statement took everyone's breath away. Amy stood up and hugged him with all her might. Lyndy continued, "Wyatt and I are going to take you and Clay will follow with your truck so you have something to drive back. Georgie will call the resort, she knows one of the managers. Katie and Georgie will talk to the kids. The room was silent until Ty was able to speak, "Thank you all, we need to go." As if prompted Wyatt walked in and with Lyndy walked the couple out. Clay grabbed the keys from Ty and followed. Luckily, the kids didn't see the ruckus but Katie, Georgie and Steven went to gather them up and fill them in on what was happening.
The ride was quiet as Amy and Ty held on to each other until Amy spoke up, "Shoot I forgot my purse and phone." Lyndy smiled and held up her purse with her phone and Ty's. She smiled and went back to Ty's shoulder. Lyndy texted Lou and as planned they pulled up and saw was waiting. Wyatt and Lyndy hugged them both and Clay gave Ty back his keys. The three of them headed back to the ranch as Lou, Amy and Ty went inside. Back at the Ranch, Katie and Georgie were filling in the kids. They sat speechless until JT finally broke down collapsing onto his three sisters, "No, she can't be sick. I have to see her and tell her it will be Ok. I should have been paying more attention to her. This is my fault." He continued to sob, not being able to catch his breath. Mallory walked in after being texted by Georgie and went to the little boy. She grabbed him in her arms and soothed him, telling him everything would be alright. Trent came running in after her and went to his friend. Mallory released him and the two held each other. The girls smiled as they knew how much they were there for each other. Finally, Annie spoke up, "What can we do, can we go to the hospital?" Katie calmly answered, "Let's wait to hear from them and then we can decide." They calmed a little and sat supporting each other. Every one of them were affected if not for Lilly but for Amy and especially Ty. The adults knew this would be a possibility but were hoping it wouldn't come. JT looked up, "Where are Wyatt and Lyndy. Georgie smiled, "They took your mom and dad to the hospital and are on their way back." A few minutes later, JT heard Wyatt's truck and ran out to him. Wyatt hopped out of the truck and scooped up his little brother holding him tight. The girls went straight to Lyndy and hugged her as well. At that moment they needed each other so they could be strong for their grandma, mom and dad. Lou, Ty and Amy hurried into the waiting room where Lisa and Jack met them. They hugged them and Lisa spoke up, "You guys can go in, she just got back from some test and seems calm. Max is with her and the doctor." They entered hearing a conversation going on. As soon as they saw Lilly she held out her arm and they went to hug her. Ty remained while holding her and Amy moved to Max. The doctor spoke up, "Well Ty and Amy I am glad you are here." Your mom is very sick but we think we know what has happened. Now I like to be direct so I am going to go over what I just discussed with your mom and Step Dad." Ty smiled, "Max is my father." Amy and Lilly smiled as the doctor continued. "As you know Lilly's cancer comes with a multitude of side effects. We have found that Lilly has had a Thyroid episode. The thyroid impacts the endocrine system in our bodies, which is basically controls a wide range of bodily functions and produces hormones to regulate them. An underactive thyroid can impact us adversely in many ways, similar to what she have been experiencing." He smiled, You cancer is still in a slight remission and this is just a related setback which is a result of your condition and treatment. With a slight adjustment to your medication and some thyroid supplements things should clear up rather quickly. But Lilly, you need to let people know when you feel off."
A group sigh of relief was felt in the room. Relatively speaking it was good news, especially that the cancer was at bay for now. Lilly smiled and spoke up, "When can I go home?" They all chuckled at her question as Max went to hug her. The doctor smiled, "Well let's start the medication adjustment and at least keep an eye on you over night. We will look at things tomorrow but I expect you can head home tomorrow. Where are you staying. "Well we have a small cottage close to everyone we stay at but I have a lot of people close to support me." He smiled, Ok, but for the next few weeks I would really like someone to be there 24/7 just to make sure the adjustments are working." Amy spoke up grabbing Lilly's hand, "Well, we have a bunch of people who would volunteer and a daughter who thrives on scheduling, so I don't think that won't be a problem." Ty had been pretty quiet but spoke up, "Doc, are things like this typical for my mom's cancer." He smiled and put his hand on his shoulder, "Ty, there are always a potential for adverse side effects but to be honest, I think this occurred because your mom is doing well and becoming much more active. Your mother is a very strong woman." He excused himself as Jack, Lou and Lisa came in to hear the news. Everyone was happy and chatting when Lilly spoke up, "Amy, Ty you guys need to get going, you have a trip to go on." Ty shook his head, "No we can leave tomorrow mom, we need to be here." She looked at him sternly, "Tyler James Borden, you and Amy will go tonight. I want you to have a good time and forget about this old fool." Everyone chuckled at the aggressiveness of her words and Lisa spoke up. "Well it seems you are already feeling better." Ty smiled and put his head down, "Ok mom we will go, but if anything happens you guys need to call us." They all agreed as Amy interrupted, "Lilly, I hope it is Ok but the kids are outside in the waiting room and JT is causing a fuss with the nurses." She smiled, "Well you two get out of here and send my grandkids in here. They went to get them and Lisa, Jack and Lou said their goodbyes. Max walked them out as the Borden kids poured into the room. The staff was amazed at the support this patient was getting. JT led the charge and hopped into the bed to open arms. "Grandma, I am so sorry. Are you Ok?" Max came back to the room as she had the kids come around her bed for hugs. "I am fine and your grandpa will let you know what is up. I just need a lot of hugs and to make sure you mom and dad get the heck out of here." They laughed as Addie blurted out, "You heard grandma, get lost, we will see you in a few days." Lyndy and Wyatt walked them out and assured them everything would be fine. She laughed, "And your bags are already in your truck and Georgie called the resort. So have fun and we all love you." After hugs the relieved and happy couple hopped in Old Blue for the two hour trip.
The ride was quiet as Amy sat close to her husband. As they pulled the old truck up the valet had a big smile on his face, "Wow cool truck, '57?" Ty smiled, "No it is a '58 but good guess. I have had her a really long time." He laughed as the bell hop grabbed their bags as he promised to take care of it. "We have an area set aside for high end cars, this baby is going there as well." Ty smiled and slipped him a generous trip as the happy couple went to check in. They had been to the resort before but it still took their breath away. The entry and check in area was elaborately decorated and the details were impeccable. The most impressive thing was an entire wall of glass that overlooked the lake and mountains. It looked like a postcard. They approached the desk and were greeted, "Dr. and Mrs. Borden, welcome to the Lake Louise Resort. We are very happy you will be staying with us." As she got them signed a well-dressed man around 30 approached them from the office behind the counter. "Amy and Ty, my name is Josh and I am a friend of your niece Georgie. She told us you were on the way and when the old GMC pulled in our valet let us know you were here. I am happy to meet you and welcome to our resort. And by the way, your niece and her husband are really amazing people. How is she doing, is she due in November? Amy smiled, "Yes she is doing well. There have been a couple of minor issues but she got past them." He laughed, "Well when she told me I was surprised, since the already have three young kids. But I hear you have five so I guess it's a family thing." Ty chuckled, "Yea we like a lot of kids for sure." He got their key cards and then let them know that everything, including meals at the hotel was already taken care of. He handed them a card that simply said, "Have Fun, we love you," Jack, Lisa, Max, Lilly, Lou, Scott, Tim and Casey. "Oh and one more thing, we normally don't disclose what guest stayed in your room prior but the Prime Minister and his wife gave us permission and left something for you. Man you guys have some pretty impressive friends." They thanked him and the bell hop took them to their room. As they walked away the young lady spoke silently to Josh, "Man look at them, they have not let each other go since they walked in. And the way they look at each other, I hope I can find someone who looks at me like that." He laughed, "Georgie told me they are amazing. She said their love story is epic and they are the reason that their company has been so successful, not just because of their skills but the love they project. They are something for sure." He chuckled and blushed a little, "She told me that we wouldn't see a lot of them." She giggled nervously as she looked at him, feeling the warmth of the couple's love. As they walked to the elevator, Amy and Ty held each other. The ride up was quiet and the nice young man took them to their room. He opened the door for them and rolled in their bags putting them by the door. He told them to enjoy their stay and Ty tipped him generously, bringing a look of surprise from him. As they walked in their eyes grew wide as Amy whispered, "Look at this place."
They spent a few minutes to look the place over. It was very palatial and had everything you would need, spa bath, extra-large king bed, a beautiful view of the mountains and lake including an outside deck that was private, and even a small kitchenette. The walked in and saw a beautiful bouquet of flowers with a note. Amy picked it up and smiled, "Enjoy this room, I know we sure did, Love Maryanne and Justin." The room was full of flowers and on another table there was a box of assorted chocolates with a note from the kids telling to have fun. They decided to unpack and go get some dinner. When Amy opened up her case she saw a small beautifully wrapped box with a note, "We thought this would help you have some fun, Lou, Mallory and Soraya." She opened it and quickly put the top back on blushing. Even though Ty and her were very intimate, even gift clothing items like that made her tingle a little. Ty noticed her face and said, "Hey what's in the box?" She smiled, "Something for later." He decided to let it be but was very excited to see what it was. The kissed about a hundred times but finally managed to get unpacked and headed down to dinner. They never let go of each other and Amy could feel that he was tired. After the party, last night at the Dude Ranch and the stress of his mom's issues she knew he was fighting it. She decided then on how their night would go. They took their time at dinner and just enjoyed being together quietly talking, sharing their food and kissing. The waitress made sure she gave them some space as she could tell they were definitely in love. She asked if there was anything else they needed and reminded them that the bill and tip were taken care of. As they got up Ty slipped her a little extra tip as he appreciated that she left them alone. As they went to the room the exhaustion hit as he trudged in slowly. They walked into the bedroom and he sat on the edge of the bed. Amy left to get ready and slipped on one of his favorite T-shirts. He laughed, "Hey, I like that t-shirt?" She giggled, "You'll might get it back but what is yours is mine so chill." What she did notice was that he was still in his clothes. She pulled him up and they hugged tightly. He smirked weakly, "So can I have my shirt now?" Without any words, she began to undress him down to his boxers. He smirked again, "Now this is what I am talking about." He fell back on the bed and crawled up to the pillows under the sheets. She joined him and hugged him, laying on his side. She pulled him close and already noticed he was done. He opened his eyes and spoke in a hush, "Are you ready for some of this." She giggled, "I think we are ready for some sleep, Ty we have four days for some of this. It's been a long day and a half and you are exhausted." He smiled but got serious, "Amy I was so scared that my mom was getting worse. I know she has cancer and I worry all the time. I am not ready to lose her." As his tears began to flow she held him tighter kissing the tears away. She whispered in his ear, "Ty your mom is strong and thanks to Max, you and all of us she is as happy as she has ever been. We just need to be there for her and I promise I will be there for you." He leaned in for a kiss and laid back, falling asleep in minutes. Amy smiled and felt the warmth of his body against her.
The next morning, back home the kids, Mallory and Trent had just finished breakfast and headed out for the day. Lyndy, Annie and Wyatt headed straight to the horses they were working with, Addie planned to help Steven a bit since he was on his own and JT spent the day with Trent. The two boys were excited because Jack, Max and Tim were taking them fishing. Max was going as Lisa and Casey promised to stay with Lilly in the hospital if she wasn't home yet. The hope was that she would be coming home in a day or two. Katie and Georgie were watching Annie work with her horse as Ellory was helping Lyndy in the next round pen. Georgie laughed, "It is weird when Amy and Ty aren't here but it is so amazing to watch those two, it's like watching their mom." Ellory laughed, "My father use to say that Marions's gift was passed to Amy, he was sure of it the first time he met her. Well I will now say that those two have it too. And Wyatt is no slouch either. I think you guys are set for a long time." In their room, Ty was the first to wake. He opened his eyes and noticed the sun was well up from the horizon. He looked over and his beautiful wife was draped over him lightly snoring away completely asleep. His problem, he needed to use the bathroom. He didn't want to move, not wanting to bother his wife, but also because she really felt good. Unfortunately, another issue was rising so he really needed to go. He slowly slithered away from her grip and made it just in time. He washed his face and hand and came back to see his wife had rolled over and was completely wrapped up in covers, clutching them tightly. He laughed to himself and started a pot of coffee and made sure the Do not Disturb sign was on the door. He went to check his phone happy that this morning he didn't care about the time. He decided to go back to bed hoping that Amy was a little more responsive as his problem below continued. He laid down and rolled over behind her. He tried not to disturb her but unfortunately his issue was against her lower back and it was difficult to avoid the contact. He took some deep breaths remembering the night before at the Dude Ranch and his surprise. He hoped more of those were in store during their time away. After several minutes he realized that she was not waking up. It had been a tough couple of days for her too, not just the party prep but being there for Lilly. He was so happy that his mom and Amy had become so close, it meant so much to him. As he daydreamed a little he felt her start to move. She heard a little giggle from her as he leaned over to kiss her head. She rolled over quickly and threw the covers off. He realized that his wife was completely naked as she lunged forward into his arms with a deep and passionate kiss. "I couldn't wait for you to make the first move Dr. Borden so let's get the love fest started." He was overwhelmed and laughed nervously, "Calm down horsey girl, we have 4 days." She looked at him seductively, "Yea, but we have to start sometime." Over the next few hours, Ty had no idea what hit him.
