Chapter One Hundred Fifty-Two
Birthday Weekend
A/N – Well in the last chapter, I had intentions to cover more but the first day of school seemed to develop on its own so I hope it works for you. BTW, I just passed 800K words and 151 Chapters. YIKES! So let's get our birthday parties. There are a lot of them. As we roll into the fall, we have a lot of things to get through, Lyndy's decision, the makeup clinic and you know who's trial, some folks leaving to go home and anything else that comes to my mind. We will keep an eye on Georgie, Jack and Lilly and there may be a Borden famliy trip to a place that has a lot of meaning to them. And of course a little horse stuff. Should be a fun time up until Thanksgiving. Keep the reviews and ideas coming, I really enjoy them and look forward to hearing from everyone. Mature Content Enjoy!
It had been a busy first day of school for the kids and for Amy, most of her day was taken up by the overbearing client who thought that she was her only client. With the kids at school as well as Katie and Georgie not available, Ellory, Haley and Rusty were taking on a little more until the kids got home. Katie was a few weeks from getting back to full speed and luckily Ellory decided to stay a little longer than planned. Amy and Ty were still looking forward to dinner and hearing about the kids first day. They waited on the porch as each one of them came home giving them all hugs. Ty had picked up some food from Maggie's for dinner so they would have plenty of time to catch up on the day. As they kids got home they headed over to the barn to check on their horses. Wyatt, Lyndy and Annie spent some time with the horses they were working with as the others made sure the family horses were settled. Ty and Amy were setting up dinner when she saw the 6 of them heading over through the kitchen window. Ty found her teary eyes and asked, "Amy what's wrong. She smiled, leaning into him, "I just love them all so much, look how happy they are." He smiled and pulled her into a hug. As they kissed Maddie was the first to come through the door, "Geez you two, is dinner ready or have you been making out the whole time." Amy scoffed and whispered to Ty smiling, "Well maybe not all of them." Ty answered her, "Well Miss Maddie, everything is hot and already on the table which is set. So all of you go wash up, grab a drink and let's eat." The family settled and every one was in a great mood except JT and Lyndy, so Amy and Ty made a note to make sure they talked with both of them alone. The kids all talked about their day. Lyndy and Wyatt talked about this morning interruption and that fact that they had several classes together. They were excited about Junior year but a little nervous about college prep. Annie and Addie talked about the incident with Bella and Maya and the last minute assembly. Everyone was amazed at what happened, especially that the boy who was the instigator apologizing to the entire class. Lyndy laughed, "I can't believe that Bella ran up and hugged the quarterback, that is so her." Both girls were really excited about being in 8th grade and looking forward to the upcoming homecoming dance. Maddie giggled, "Well looks like some more kissing for you two." Annie smacked her and everyone laughed again. Maddie went on and on about being it 5th grade and her friend group. Addie ribbed her, "And I hear a young man said hello to you specifically and is coming over for a ride soon." Maddie turned red and the others were surprised at how quiet she got. Lyndy interceded, "That's awesome Mads, we know his older brother and he is cool." Somewhat settled, she then told about being selected to go to the middle school one morning a week to take some math enrichment classes. "And the best thing is that Addie is one of the 8th graders that will be working with us." Everyone laughed as Addie and Maddie high fived. JT was the final kid to talk and said that the teachers asked him and Trent to be the lead on many small projects they would be doing. "Yea, they kind of want us to be leaders in the class since we know so many kids. I reminded them I was still only 4 but they said that didn't matter." As the kids all congratulated him he got quiet and Maddie asked, "Are you Ok, you seem upset." Amy and Ty immediately knew what was bothering him so Amy spoke to him. "Baby, did someone say something about our visit with them?" The rest of the kids had no idea what was up but remained quiet. He spoke softly, "Well yea, but I don't really want to talk about it." The room was quiet until Wyatt broke the ice, "Well, sounds like we had a great first day, what's for desert?" JT looked at him and smiled, quietly thinking him for getting off the subject.
As they enjoyed desert Amy spoke up, "So we have some birthdays coming up, what do you three want to do? Annie spoke for them, "Well we talked and we would like to do something with our friends and are Ok with a party for all three of us. Since it is the same family for both there is no reason to have separate ones, as long as we can have a few friends too." Amy smiled, we were hoping for that and the week after Steven and Georgie are having the twins birthday at Heartland with just family and some close friends. JT, Trent will be there and Maddie, Annie and Addie you can invite a person too, maybe your boyfriends?" Maddie rolled her eyes, "He is not my boyfriend but I may invite him as a friend." The other girls giggled at her. After desert Amy and Ty cleaned up so the kids could get settled for bed. As they finished they stopped for a second as Amy kissed Ty deeply, "I needed to kiss you since we were interrupted before lover boy." He smiled, grabbed her hand and they headed upstairs. The made it a point to see JT first. He sat quietly in his bed reading a fishing magazine. As they walked in he looked up and smiled, "Don't worry I am not mad anymore, it just surprised me. The poor teacher who is new and didn't know about my thing. When they told her she really got upset so I went to tell her it was Ok." Amy smiled, "Well we should have told you but the teachers and nurses wanted an update. We are really sorry. And we are proud of you and how you sat with the new teacher, that is amazing" He answered by hugging both of them tightly. The visit with Maddie and the twins went well and when they knocked and came into Lyndy's room, she looked up a little teary eyes and Wyatt consoling her. Amy replaced Wyatt on the side of the bed as Lyndy fell into her arms. Ty spoke up, "Honey, we know you have to make the decision about Goddard soon and we know it is weighing on you. Whatever you decide, we all will support your decision." Wyatt smiled, "See babe, uh Lyndy, that is what I said to." Lyndy smiled, "I know, I just don't want to upset the Goddard folks, they have been so supportive and nice to me." Amy hugged her tighter, "Lyndy, they will be fine and completely understand. They know the commitment and that some students have other things they want to do." Lyndy smiled, said good night and hugged both of her parents. Ty laughed and pointed to his wrist and Wyatt as Amy smacked him, dragging him to their room. As the door closed and locked the continued the kiss that had been interrupted. Their kiss continued all the way to their bed. Clothes became unnecessary as they were discarding along the way. After they made their way under the covers Amy whispered, "I have been waiting for this all day. First Georgie interrupts us then Maddie. I though with the kids gone we would have some alone time." Ty smiled nipping at her neck and whispering, "Well we are alone now horsey girl." He move down to her breast and brought her a pleasure that always made her moan. It had been a little while for them and he made the effort to make up for lost time. He brought her to her first climax as he focused on just the right spot that she enjoyed the most. Amy was in complete ecstasy as he moved his lips and tongue to her inner thighs. She arched her back as he loved her completely, trying to control her moans and light calling of his name. She was completely at his mercy as he continued his tender assault. She gained the upper hand and returned his love to places she knew would please him. He added his own moaning as she moved all over his body pleasuring him. When they gathered themselves, she rolled on her back and welcomed him completely as they moved together in a bond that they both were familiar with. As they approached the peak of their lovemaking they both orgasmed moaning at a whole new level. As they slowed down they giggled trying to be quiet and control their breathing. They collapsed in their love and held each other tightly. Soon sleep came as it had been a long day. As they dozed off they both realized that their love for each other grew stronger every day.
The next few days at school brought some stability and routine and the kids were really enjoying themselves. The high maintenance client finally left happy that Amy had figured out the problem. She went from a burden to a fan and promised to spread the word about the Marion Fleming Equine Center. Amy thanked her as Georgie whispered, "I hope her friends aren't like her." Katie surprised the group with a visit from her and Sienna, who was maybe the cutest baby ever. She was passed around as Katie helped Rusty with a horse he had been working with. Clay noticed she was in the round pen and was going to react until Ty grabbed his shoulder, "Dude, she has Fleming in her genes, just chill." He smiled as he understood completely and kept himself under control. Katie stuck around as the kids got back from school so the Borden girls hovered over the baby. Lyndy and Wyatt took her to the house for a nap so Katie was able to stick around helping for several hours. They all hung out for a while longer until they headed over for dinner. The invitations for the combo birthday party had gone out and tonight the planning will be worked out. On Saturday, Maddie and her friends, including some boys would go for a ride and picnic to the river. There they would have lunch and swim. Lyndy and Wyatt volunteered to go with them since their mom and dad would be busy getting ready for tomorrow. Dillon and Ty would be taking the 8th graders to lunch at Maggie's and then pick them up from a midafternoon movie. As a bonus, Amy and Ty offered to have a bonfire in the early evening with snacks and smores for all of the kids. Amy spoke to Annie, Addie and Maddie, "You guys will need to tell your friend to be picked up by 8:30, no later. We have a big day on Sunday and will all need a good night's sleep. Caleb, Rusty, Wyatt and Clay would be responsible to put up the small tent for the food set up and extra seating. After lunch, the area would be converted so the kids and adults would dance to some music that Clay had put together with the birthday girls. The family was going to give them their presents next week at the twins party so the only gifts they would be getting would be from friends, so a table would be set up for that. An area inside would be for Katie and Sienna along with Georgie and the elders that was more relaxed and quiet. Jack, Lisa, Max, Lilly, Tim, Casey and the Cardinals would be there as well. Amy and Ty and their group would move about the party. The Stanton's, Masters' and O'Dell's along with Mallory and Doug would handle the younger group of kids. It seemed everything was ready to go and the family enjoyed a quiet dinner and hung around the living room talking. JT smiled at the family as they talked and looked at his mom. He walked over to her and jumped on Amy's lap giving her a big kiss. "I love you mommy, I am sorry I got a little upset about the first day of school. I understand why you did it." She smiled and pulled him in tightly. She was choked up but finally whispered, "Baby boy, your dad and I love you to the moon and so do your sisters and brother." He smiled and buried his head into his mother's warm chest. "Mommy, Wyatt is my brother." Ty saw Amy on the verge of tears and leaned over hugging them both whispering, "You bet he is buddy and he is our son." The girls and Wyatt overheard the conversation and all became quiet and a little emotional. JT noticed the solemn looks and proclaimed, "Hey everybody, let's be happy, it's birthday party weekend!" They all laughed and had a group tickling session until the headed off to bed. Everyone including Amy and Ty fell asleep quickly looking forward to tomorrow.
As soon as everyone was up the next morning, the house was buzzing with excitement. Lyndy and Amy prepared a birthday weekend breakfast while Ty, JT and Wyatt helped the other girls get horses ready for Maddie's group. They would need 8 total for five girls and three boys. Maddie and Gwen had their horses and they needed six more. Annie and Addie offered thiers up as well as Ty and Amy along with the horse Ellory had been using. They needed one more so JT spoke up, "Sylvia can use Blue Boy. He is gentle and she has ridden him before." Wyatt high fived him, proud of him offering his horse up. The group brushed and tacked up the horses, including Wyatt and Lyndy's since the kids were arriving at 10:00am. When they finished they headed back for a great breakfast. After they finished the girls helped their mom get the picnic lunch ready. Gwen had already shown up so once they were done they loaded up the horses and tied them off to the round pen fence. Amy and Ty heard screams as the other three girls, including Caroline showed up and met Maddie on the front porch. Ty noticed another car pulling up and whispered to Amy, "The boys are here, we better go meet the parent who brought them. As they walked out the girls were giggling as three young boys hopped out of the car. They figured that Ricky was the one who greeted them first as Maddie seemed focused on him. A women a little younger than them approached Amy and Ty and introduced herself as Ricky's mom. "It is so nice to meet you finally Mr. and Mrs. Borden, Ricky has talked about you and your family a lot and this place is beautiful." Amy smiled, "First it's Amy and Ty and thank you. Maddie has talked about Ricky as well, it is so nice to meet you. I think the kids are excited." She smiled, "It is so nice of you to let them go on this ride, is someone going with them." Just on queue, Lyndy and Wyatt walked out and Ty smiled, "Yes, my daughter and her boyfriend will be chaperoning." Lyndy smiled saying hello and smacked him, "Dad you make us sound old." They all laughed and Ricky's mom said goodbye and said another parent would pick them up around 8:30, after the bonfire. The kids, along with Wyatt and Lyndy helped checked to make sure everything was loaded up and started on their way. The ride was about an hour and a half so they would set up camp, swim a little, eat and then swim some more. All the kids brought a backpack with extra clothes to change into later. Amy and Ty watched the group and went back into the house arm in arm. Mallory came up with Trent a few minutes later as he and JT were spending the day and early evening at Heartland. JT was getting as much time as he could with Lilly so they would be hanging out with her as well as Jack, Max and Lisa. Just before lunch, Dillon pulled up with Camilla, Bella and Maya, followed by Jeremy's dad pulled up with his son, Desi and Troy. Dillon came in for a cup of coffee and they caught up. He smiled, "Soraya is really excited about some time just us this afternoon. We are going to the park and a nice walk around the lake." Amy smiled and poked her husband. "In know we have some time alone, so we have to find something to do." He winked and pinched her side. Dillon and Ty took off with the kids as Amy waved, thinking about what her and Ty could do for the next several hours. Her mind raced and she smiled blushing a little.
The activities for both sets of kids were perfect as the younger group was well behaved and the older group was enjoying their independence. Lyndy and Wyatt let the kids alone for the most part and couldn't help but notice that Maddie was smitten with young Ricky. Wyatt pulled her in as they ate their lunch, "Ahh, young love, isn't it wonderful?" She smiled blushing into his chest, "Well I kind of like older love too." They stopped as they felt a pair of eyes glaring at them. At Maggie's, Lou had set up a table for the young adolescents. They really got along as a group and enjoyed being together. The couples sat by each other and they were all very comfortable showing limited signs of affection. After lunch they walked to the theater and got their snacks before they found seats together. Annie and Addie smiled at each other realizing that this was a great idea and birthday. Amy and Ty definitely took the opportunity to spend some time together back home alone. The made a light lunch and went to sit in back on one of the benches that looked over the field of wildies. They sat quietly until Amy whispered, "This is perfect, when do you need to leave to get the kids?" He smiled, 'In a few hours, when are Lyndy and Wyatt bringing their group back?" She smiled, "A few hours. So looks like we have a few hours alone." He leaned into her for a deep and passionate kiss sending a message. Amy caught her breath and smiled, "Wow, that was amazing, I think we should head back to the empty house, like now." They laughed, grabbed their stuff and headed back to the house. As they began to take advantage of the alone time, Ty set his alarm to give them enough time to gather themselves and get ready for the light dinner and bonfire later. Their early afternoon alone time was definitely what they both needed. When the alarm went off Amy groaned, "It can't be time already but Ty we need get going." He popped out from under the covers and smiled, "Do you really want me to?" She sighed, "No not really but we have to get dressed, straighten up this room and get stuff ready for tonight. And mister, you have kids to pick up." As they walked outside arm in arm, they saw the younger group coming down the road happy and laughing. They came straight to the house as Maddie jumped off and went to hug her parents before Ty headed out, but not before Amy gave him a little longer kiss than normal. "Mom our ride was awesome, we had so much fun. I only had to yell at Lyndy and Wyatt once for being weird. This is Ricky a friend from school." He blushed as he said hello and thanked her for the ride. The kids went to take the horses back as Maddie planned to show them all how to untack and horse and brush them including Sundance and Wyatt's horse. Lyndy smiled at her mom, "So how was you day, you seem a little flush." Wyatt laughed, "And your kiss with your husband was a little much don't you think." Amy blushed and looked away as the two of them laughed. Lyndy gave her a hug, "Its Ok mom you guys are cute and the best parents ever." The three of them finished setting up for the evening and when Ty and Dillon got back they got the kids started on their light dinner. Dillon brought Soraya so the four of them sat on the porch watching the kids roast marshmallows and make smores. Right on time all of the parents started showing up to get their kids and by 9:00 the famliy had everything cleaned up and got ready for bed. Amy told them all to get a good night's sleep since tomorrow would be crazy. As Amy and Ty laid in bed, they held each other. Sleep came quickly to the Bordens as the day had been action packed, full of fun and love.
Amy and Ty were woken up by the sound of Rusty and a couple of the ranch hands banging the pipes to set up the tents. Amy groaned, "Do they have to do that so early." He smiled pulling her in, "Hey, we can't complain, they are doing it on a Sunday. What time is the food coming?" She smiled pulling herself into his chest. "I think 11 or so, the kids from the youth program are picking up, and making sure it is ready by 1:00. All the guest are coming by noon, so we have a lot to do. I am so glad we are holding family presents until next week at Noah and Hannah's party. That would have been even more chaotic. Everything is planned and ready to go." He laughed, Ok, Lou and Maddie." She tickled him relentlessly until there was a knock on their door as Maddie spoke loudly, "Ok you two it's party day, let's get a move on." Breakfast was short as they all began doing their part to get ready for all their guest. First on tap was to get the horses up, groomed and fed, so the kids, less Wyatt and Lyndy worked on that. JT came home right before breakfast as he and Trent decided to stay overnight at Heartland. Maddie wondered out loud at the table, "Hmm, so Mallory had an entire night without Trent and I heard that Shawna was at her grandmas, interesting." JT looked at her, "What do you mean by that, Trent told me that they have sleepovers all the time where they go to their house or they stay at his. What's the big deal, we stay over at our friends' houses sometimes." The group laughed quietly as Ty proclaimed, "Your right buddy, it is no big deal." The tent was up along with some tables and chairs. The porch was also set up for seating and an area inside was ready for the new baby and Georgie. She had been feeling better but was limited to what she could do and Lou, Katie and Steven kept an eye on her 24/7. All they needed now was the food and the guest to arrive. Right on time several trucks and kids from the youth group arrived with all the food. As usual Amy and Ty offered to pay them but they refused realizing the fact that the program they were in was a blessing and helped many of them mend their ways. The three birthday girls were dressed up as well as Lyndy, Amy and the boys, casual but nice. Ty noticed that even Addie had a nice dress on to similar to her twin sisters, but a different color. But Amy and Lyndy noticed how nice Maddie looked as Lyndy asked, "Wow Maddie you look great, I have never seen you in that summery dress." She blushed, "Well I have to look nice for my party." Lyndy continued her statement, "And Ricky." Maddie stuck her tongue out at her and huffed away turning red. Shortly after the food arrived the guest did as well. Every time one of the birthday girl's friends showed up the screamed in glee. JT rustled up his buddies and they went to play. Lyndy and Wyatt were hanging with Rusty, Haley, Clay and Katie and of course all Lyndy could do was hold baby Sienna. Clay and Wyatt also kept an eye on the drinks making sure they were stocked up. Amy and Ty got Jack and the elder group settled near Georgie and made sure their group was comfortable. Amy noticed that Mallory and Doug showed up holding hands and smiling a lot. She looked over to Lyndy and smiled making a mental note to talk to her about the sleepover comment from JT. Everyone had arrived, so Ty and Amy got everyone's attention. Amy started, "Welcome family and friends for the birthday celebrations of Maddie, Annie and Addie. Ty and I are so happy you could make it and can you believe it, our twins girls are 14 and little Maddie is a grown up 11. Ty and I remember when they were Sienna's size and are so happy they are our daughters." Amy started choking up as Ty took over. "Well lunch will be ready in just a few minutes so you all know the routine. The girls decided to hold off on family presents until next week when we have Noah and Hanna's party." From the back of the room they heard both of them scream in glee. After everyone laughed he continued. "I am pretty sure we have three separate cakes so I am sure there will be enough for everyone." He hesitated pulling Amy to his side, "As a father, besides your love and commitment to your partner, the love and pride you have for your children is very special. I am very fortunate to have 6 amazing children that bring joy to Amy and I every day." He chuckled, "Well maybe not when Maddie knocks on you door way to early." Everyone laughed as Georgie yelled out, "Been there done that." After everyone settled Ty continued, "We are fortunate to have each other but I am the luckiest man in the world." Tears came to his eyes, "Happy birthday girls, your mom, sister and brothers as well as everyone here love you very much. Let's all enjoy the celebration." Everyone applauded and Amy hugged him tightly followed by the birthday girls, Lyndy, Wyatt and JT. Camera phones snapped as pictures were taken of a family that truly loved one another.
The combo party was a huge success. Family and friends enjoyed being together and Maddie, Annie and Addie felt very loved. The food, which was a combination of their favorites was enjoyed by all. Amy and Ty were proud of their children as they socialized equally with all of the guest. Ty laughed and leaned over to Amy, "Look at our girls, JT and Wyatt, they are very considerate of everyone even with all of their friends here. I can't get over how Maddie is acting with the new boy here. It's like she has grown up overnight. Did you see her introduce him to Jack, Lisa, Max, Lilly and the others sitting together. She was so mature and she held his hand the entire time." Amy smiled, "I think she has seen how her older sisters act with their men and is learning from them. They are pretty cute. But haven't you noticed Mallory and Doug, they have not separated since they got here. She has spent a lot of time with Georgie and Katie and seems to be hovering over Sienna and Nate a lot. I have to get her alone to see what is going on." Ty laughed and pulled her in for a hug, "We need to get a life for sure, we are such busy bodies." She kissed his cheek and whispered, "I think we showed each other the other night that we have a life for sure, lover boy." They smiled and didn't notice that Maddie had come over with Ricky to formally introduce him. "Mom and dad, I know you have said hello but I wanted for you to meet Ricky officially. He is a really good friend and wanted to meet the Miracle Girl and Hudson's most famous vet." They smiled and Ricky spoke up, "Hi, actually when my mom was little she brought a horse to you, named Spitfire." Amy smiled, "Was you mom's last name Williams and did they love in Kananaskis?" He was overwhelmed that she know as Maddie poked him in the side, "I told you she would remember, she remembers almost all of the horses she works on." He smiled sheepishly, "My mom just had to put him down but he was an amazing horse and she really loved him." Amy smiled and pulled him in for a hug. "I know how important Spitfire was to her and just like her I had to put my horse down a few years ago, he was very special to me." Ricky continued, "Dr. Borden, I was wondering if I could come and watch you and Dr. Weber. I really want to be a vet and would love to watch you work. Maddie has told me you guys are awesome" Ty smiled, "Well have your parents give me a call and we will see what we can set up." As they walked back to their friends, Amy and Ty noticed Maddie skip as she seemed very happy. Annie and Addie's group were enjoying their food at a table laughing and joking. Just like their sister they had made sure before they ate to greet everyone. Like Maddie they took Jeremy and Desi over to formally meet Jack, Lisa and the others. Although they had seen them around they had never been introduced formally so they spent several minutes talking with all of them. Amy smiled when she noticed that each of her girls had a hold of the boy's arms, just like she always did with Ty. She whispered to Ty, "It must be serious, look how they are holding their arms, kind of like another couple I know." He smiled and kissed her cheek. Georgie waddles over and huffed, "Can you two ever stop with the huggy kissy stuff, it is really annoying." She sat next to Amy and leaned into her Aunt. Amy put her arm around her, "Georgie, what's up." She asked her to go for a walk so Amy looked at Ty and the two of them walked toward the pond to sit on a bench. They say down and Georgie spoke up, "Amy I am really scared about this baby. Everything is Ok, I am just being hormonal. Steven and the twins have been so wonderful, a little overbearing at times but great. Lou has been Ok but I always catch her looking at me or checking things out. To be honest Lyndy and Katie have been unbelievable also, always there to listen to me." Amy smiled and looked into her eyes, "Georgie, you know that we had concerns with the twins and JT while I was pregnant, but Ty was there for me as well as grandpa. They both helped me get through my concerns and issues. Although not by blood, you are a Bartlett/Fleming woman and we are tough and onery. You are a strong woman and everything will be fine." They sat for a moment quietly when Amy spoke up, "Now let's go back and party, I see your mom looking for you." They stood up arm in arm and headed back.
As they got back, the birthday girls were ready to get the presents that were brought by their friends and non-family people. As decided, the immediate family would give them their gifts at the twins party next weekend. Max and Lilly would be staying and not heading home until after that which made the kids really happy. As the went to sit down, Lou headed their way so Amy deflected her, giving Georgie a little less stress by asking her to help get the cakes ready. When they were done the presents began. The girls were really excited as they got great gifts and to the delight of Amy and Ty, they went out of the way to thank the givers as Lyndy wrote everything down. Caleb, Desi and some of the ranch hands pitched in to give Addie a complete set of tools to help her with the work she had begun doing on all of the equipment on the ranch. She shrieked, "Dad, I won't have to borrow yours now!" Annie loved all of the clothes that her friends got her and really liked the new set of tack that Jeremy bought her for her upcoming Fall Finale competition. She kissed his cheek and blushed as she realize everyone was watching. Gwen and Sylvia got Maddie a cool picture of the group sitting on the horses they had taken out on the trail ride the day before and one of just her and Ricky. "How did you get this done so fast, she marveled." Sylvia laughed, "It's a secret." Everyone laughed as the three best friends hugged tightly. A tentative Rickly handed a gift to her. She smiled brightly in a way that the family had never seen. This Maddie was new to them and they all smiled softly. Amy grabbed Ty's hand and leaned into him so happy to see their girl growing up. She gently opened it and saw a very pretty bracelet that had her name and birthstone on it. "He smiled, "You sister Lyndy helped me, do you like it." For one of the first times ever, she sat silently and put it on. She looked up and quietly said, "I love it, thank you." She lightly hugged him as everyone quietly awed at the young couple. Lou, leaned over to Amy, "I think our little girl is growing up." Amy could just smile as she watched. The girls finished the rest of their presents to laughs and applause and it was time for cake. Of course they were three and of course all had horse themes. After a resounding three person version of Happy Birthday led by Jack, Amy and Lyndy, cake and ice cream were given out and happily consumed by all. When they finished, Wyatt and Clay started the music and all of the kids, young adults and even some of young parents danced away. Amy looked over to her grandpa and their group. She looked into his eyes and he looked back, smiling and telling her with them how happy he was. When a slower song came on she coaxed him to dance with her and Ty grabbed his mom. Everyone watched the two couples dance with tears in their eyes. The party ended in the early evening since they kids all had school the next day. It had been a good day for the birthday girls.
The kids had a good week at school, especially the birthday girls. The carry over of the fun weekend they had was the talk of their classes. Amy and Ty and for that fact the rest of the business at the Equine Center was very busy. The alignment of Briar Ridge and Fairfield was ahead of schedule and the work aligning the new properties was just about done. Ellory offered to stay until the end of the year since Georgie was very limited to what she could do and Katie was slowly getting back into things. Mallory and Bethany had fully moved into their new roles and both were thriving. Amy and Ty were very happy with the older more mature version of their old friend and she had jumped in and taken a lot of the administrative burden off of them. As a bonus, with the addition of Briar Ridge and growth of the business, she also helped Caleb and Clay with the supply ordering systems, allowing them to handle their increased workload. Bethany was a natural and being able to have Beau there with her was a blessing. He would be moving into the school system next year so she valued the extra time with him. The birthday party for Noah and Hannah was perfect, even though their mom couldn't do much. The Borden girls stepped in and took control of almost everything with Amy, Katie and Lou helping when needed. They were both on cloud nine and had their shirts on proclaiming that they were three. They were so close like Addie and Annie and as it has always seemed the four of them had a special connection. The Borden birthday girls made their presents low key so the twins could fully enjoy the family and close friends who were there. To keep the focus on them the Borden kids decided to keep it just to family and not bring one friend, like they had been offered. Georgie smiled and leaned into Amy, "I can't believe the boyfriends aren't here. That was so nice of them to make sure Noah and Hannah were the center of attention." Amy smiled noticing that she seemed very uncomfortable. She glanced at Steven, Katie and Ty as they had seen it as well. The party was at Heartland so Katie and Amy discretely took Georgie to her place to rest, alternating staying with her. Others noticed but understood she needed it so they put even more focus on the twins. The rest of the party was fun and ended early. Over the next few week a sense of normalcy would return for a while. Thanksgiving was only 8 weeks away and Christmas three and a half months. Georgie was due soon and the makeup clinic and trial were looming. The family was looking forward to some peace for the next few weeks until the holiday season and another new baby. The following night Amy and Ty sat on the porch enjoying the cooler weather. The kids were inside getting ready for school the next day and they just sat quietly drinking a coffee and looking over the ranch.
