Chapter One Hundred Fifty-Eight

The Best Of Times

A/N – Jack completely loves everyone in his family but I expect that a baby boy is definitely a relief since it is a women dominated family for sure. The Webers have strayed from the norm with three boys but I expect that Hannah, being the oldest will still rule over her little brothers. I know some might be a little overwhelmed with business talk but I really feel this last meeting sets the stage for some of my future stories so I wanted to make sure I spent the time needed on three pretty majors improvements to H.E.E. As we move into the Thanksgiving holiday, my plan with the next chapter or two is to continue on my quest to set up the future. My next chapter will be a number of smaller storylines that are intended to do just that. I hope I meet everyone's expectations. Thanks to the reader who reminded me to finish the Buzzer story and I promise I will. The rest of this chapter will truly cover items that fit into the title, Best of Times. More than ever as I prepare to conclude this phase of the Borden Family Legacy, your feedback, insight and ideas are needed. I thank all of you wholeheartedly for your support and commitment to this story. Mature Content Enjoy!

Saturday morning came quickly and as everyone woke up the excitement was still all around the Borden house. Ty came down to find Max at the table having a coffee and looking over some documents for the Fairfield/Briar Ridge consolidation. He showed Ty some of them and he smiled, "Lou, Ben and Jenn have done a great job on this. Everything has been handled well and once we submit the paperwork the new business will be in place." They chatted a little while longer when Ty asked, "Where is mom? Max smiled and told Ty to follow him. On the way upstairs they met Amy, Lyndy and Wyatt. The other girls were still sleeping. He quietly walked over to JT's room and opened the door slowly. What the group saw brought a hand holding, teary eyed response. JT lay quietly sleeping and Lilly was behind him with her arm over him sleeping as well. Amy and Lyndy could barely compose themselves. Max closed the door and whispered, "She wanted to go say good night to him and chat a bit and never came back. I have to tell you, I think there is another man in her life." They all tearily laughed and headed back down to get breakfast ready. Breakfast was light and fun as the day was set to be one of family activities and hanging out with Max and Lilly. After they finished, Max, Ty and Wyatt offered to clean up so Lilly, Amy and the girls could go out and tend to their horses. JT never left Lilly's side as they walked over and got to work. Amy, Lilly and JT walked around talking about some of the client horses as the girls took care of the family horses. When they got to Buzzer, he snorted loudly and Lilly chuckled, "Well he seems to be feisty." Then she walked over to him as he pushed his snout through the rail looking for a treat. Amy handed her one and watched startled as Buzzer took it and Lilly gently rubbed the head of the very calm horse. She looked at JT, "Well how about that. JT you want to work with me and Buzzer in the round pen, I think Lilly can help too." He jumped into her arms with glee. "Let's do it." They put a lead on the happy horse and the three of them walked to the round pen. As Lilly stood just inside the gate, Amy, with JT by her side began lunging Buzzer. They girls had just finished and heard the commotion heading over to see the scene in front of them with disbelief. A few minutes later, Max, Ty and Wyatt walked over as well joking with them along the fence. Rusty, Haley and several of the other staff come over as well, so quite a crowd had gathered. What they witnessed was the wonder of the Miracle Girl in action. After years of helping horses the amazement, especially for Ty, never got old. He watched with a huge smile on his face as she worked the horse with JT standing with her. And when he saw a smiling Lily near the gate his love for his wife grew even more. Even with the crowd, she was focused and after several minutes more, she stopped and turned in holding JT's hand and motioning for Lilly to join them. Buzzer slowed and began a chewing motion, which was a sign he was ready. His ears moved forward and he approached the three of them from behind. He went to JT and lowering his head to JT first, then Lilly accepting them. Amy looked over to her husband and smiled, knowing what he was thinking. She smiled at him with the smile only meant for him and then pulled Buzzer, JT and Lilly into a group hug. She whispered, "We did good you guys, Buzzer will be Ok." The crowd quietly clapped as JT and Lilly took Buzzer back to his stall with help from Lyndy and Wyatt. Amy and Ty embraced as no words were needed.

The group had a fun lunch at Maggie's and then dispersed. Max took JT and Lilly back to Heartland as the guys had a fishing date with Jack and Tim at the pond. Lilly was helping Lisa, Lou and Casey bake some pies for the BBQ at the Miracle Ranch. Lyndy and Wyatt went for a trail ride with Maddie, Gwen and Sylvia. Finally the twins went to see a movies with their date group consisting of Jeremy, Desi, Camilla, Troy, Bella and Maya. So Amy and Ty found themselves with a kid free afternoon and nothing to do. Max had offered to pay for a pizza and salad night and Jack, Lisa, Lou and Scott were going to come as well. It was a pretty nice day so they dressed warmly and headed out on the Norton. Amy loved being the girl on the back of the bike and this would give them several hours to just be together. They weren't sure where they were going and really didn't care as Amy held on tightly to Ty. They packed some cookies and a flask of hot chocolate and had several blankets rolled up behind Amy. Thanks to Addie the Norton purred down the road. After a while Amy spoke into Ty's ear nipping at his ear lobe and they headed to Stumpy's camp site that was closed for the season and very isolated. They both loved the place where Ty proposed to Amy. Lyndy and Wyatt's ride with the kids was going well. They had decided to go to the old Jumping course and like their parents stayed close holding hands the entire way. The girls rode behind them giggling and looking at them. When they got to the course they took turns jumping making sure they were set low for the girls. They had a great time having a mock competition that Sylvia was declared the winner of. They enjoyed a snack and a drinks as the horses rested grazing nearby. A confident Sylvia spoke up, "So Lyndy, when are you going to get married?" The girls giggled as both Lyndy and Wyatt blushed. She answered, "Well we are too young but someday we will." Gwen continued to laugh, "Will it be Wyatt?" Again they all laughed as Lyndy kissed his cheek. "What do you think I should do?" She smiled, "I think you should, he is kind of hot." They all laughed and continued to enjoy their snack. The young teen group was really enjoying the time at the mall together and after a stop for a shake they walked around as each couple held hands, laughing and joking. The girls would go into a store and the guys sat outside and waited. Troy laughed, "I am so glad we can stay out here away from the mayhem of those five shopping. The others laughed but Desi seemed a little distracted. Jeremy asked him what was up and he spoke quietly, "I know I should get passed it but when we were walking around did you see that some people were gawking at Bella and Maya. I just don't get how people can be so bigoted, it makes me sick. I just want to go and tell them that they are all idiots." Jeremy whispered, "I saw it too and I know they did as well." As the girls walked out, they immediately notice that the three young men seemed almost angry. Maya jumped in and looked at the three of them. "I know what you are mad about and trust me it bothers us too. But it is what it is and we all just need to be better than them. They all quietly laughed and hugged and got ready to continue their shopping. All of a sudden, Maya got them to stop and stood on a bench. "Attention everyone, This is Bella and I am Maya and we love each other." She hopped down and kissed her gently and the rest of the group clapped and hugged their friends moving on to enjoy the rest of the day. The fishing trip to the pond was fun as even Shawna came along. Her new step mom was busy getting everything ready for the BBQ and her dad was her unwilling helper. He had learned that Mallory had a higher than normal energy level which was one of the reason he loved her. The group caught a good number of fish but with the pond it was always catch and release. JT and Trent helped Shawna as she was new to fishing. Jack, Tim and Max laughed as he skillfully showed her how to bait the hook, cast and hook a fish, which she did a few times. She shrieked when she landed one and JT helped her reel it in. Jack couldn't help but notice how cute they were. When they finished they headed to the house to check on the baking brigade and have a snack. As usual, JT went right to Lilly for a big hug bragging about how Shawna caught her first fish. After their snack the kids headed out to the barn, the men got a drink and sat on the porch as the women continued to bake. The afternoon had been relaxing for everyone.

Amy and Ty pulled up to the camp and after retracing their engagement night walk, got out the blankets, cookies and hot chocolate. They were mostly quiet each in deep thought and just enjoying the time together. They both realized that being together was all they both really needed. They sat by the firepit on the same bench and talked, remembering the magical night of their engagement. After all of the issues, it finally happened and it was the most perfect night ever. Ty smiled, "I was so nervous Amy, I had been thinking about what I wanted to say forever and then after all the missteps, I was really worried that you would say no." Her eyes drew wide and she looked at him and whispered, "Ty I was so hoping that you would propose. Just a few days before I was sitting on the overturned john boat and Lou walked up. She asked what was wrong and I started to cry. I told her that you had become and amazing man and loved me to no end. I realized that I really didn't know what I was waiting for and once we walked back it was all I could think about. When we got the chance to come up here I couldn't stay still thinking of what was going to happen. We had so much fun helping that foal and reuniting him with his mother. And when we took our walk and felt the herd rumbling and saw the shooting star, I was hoping that your wish would be to marry me. When you knelt down and told me that you wish you could spend the rest of your life with me I almost fainted. I was so overwhelmed with love for you that when you asked me I could barely speak. When I said yes, it was the best moment of my life to that point and all I could think of was how much I loved you." She took a breath as they kissed deeply. Ty smiled, "I kind of nervously laughed when you hesitated but I could tell in your eyes that the answer was yes. And when you jumped into my arms I felt so relieved and happy at the same time. The horsey girl said yes and I almost passed out with relief." She giggled and blushed, "Well thank goodness you didn't because I remember we really celebrated that night in that teepee. Thank god the teepee walls couldn't talk." She blushed again, "Every time we make love you take my breath away, just like that night." Their kiss became even more passionate as they began to kiss and touch each other. Amy blushed, "Ty we are outside in the middle of nowhere." He didn't answer as he laid the blankets in the soft grass and began to unbutton her shirt. "I am sure we can keep it quiet enough." Their naked bodies rolled together in the blankets and felt the excitement of their afternoon, outdoor lovemaking. Their moans were only heard by the wind as they pleasured each other, climaxing multiple times. The excitement of being outdoors even made it more pleasurable. As Ty said the cooler weather was not an option and their bodies became one and the reach orgasms several times and there was no problem staying warm. Even after several peaks of love they had enough left for a final bonding as Amy hovered over Ty moving up and down on his manhood. After yet another explosion of love she finally collapsed on to him as they both were breathing heavily. Finally she was able to speak, "Ok that was amazing, how many time was that?" He caught his breath and held her as close as he could, their naked bodies completely connected. "Amy no matter how many times we make love I am always ready for more. You are the most beautiful woman in the universe and also really, really hot. But we probably need to go after we find our clothes that seem to be everywhere." She giggled as they kissed one last time and got dressed. It took a whole to get themselves together and packed up but soon they were on their way back home. Their time alone had been perfect."

At dinner, everyone enjoyed hearing the stories of the day. JT of course bragged about his fishing prowess and that he helped Shawna catch her first fish. Addie giggled, "Shawna hey, do you like her?" He scoffed, "I am not even five years old Addie, I am not ready for a serious relationship." Everyone burst out in laughter as then Maddie said that the ride with Lyndy, Wyatt and her friends was cool. "Mom we went to the jumping course and Sylvia jumped a little on really low jumps." Before Amy could ask Lyndy spoke up, "Mom it was good, we were right there for her." Relieved the twins took over talking about how much fun they had shopping as the boys sat waiting while they went into store after store. Annie put her head down, "So, people kept glaring at Maya and Bella, we were really getting mad. Desi said something and then crazy Maya stood on a bench and proclaimed her love for Bella for everyone there. It was hilarious." Everyone smiled as Lilly spoke up, "That is just terrible how close minded people are. It is obvious that those two are perfect for each other, people are so stupid." Everyone shook their heads in agreement as she added, "And Amy, we have enough pies for a thousand people and they taste great, just ask Max." She poked him in the ribs as everyone laughed. After a few more minutes Wyatt couldn't wait any longer to ask Amy and Ty, "So how was the ride you guys?" Amy blushed and put her head down, grabbing Ty's arm. "It was really nice, we rode up to Stumpy's fishing camp." Noticing the silence Lyndy continued, "So did you just hang out there?" Ty answered just as tentatively, "Well we retraced our walk when I proposed to your mom, it was fun." Lyndy continued the questions, "Nice, fun, wow you guys sound really excited." Lilly stepped in, "Well it sound lovely but we best have some desert." Amy thanked her with her eyes as pie and ice cream was handed out. The next morning after a quick breakfast, BBQ prep was underway. Mallory, with Maddie's help, was in full preparation mode. Almost the entire staff and their families were attending which brought it to almost 100 people. Tents were set up and the pits were fired up. Tables and chairs were all around including the porch and the food line was ready to go. Staff had volunteered to help serve the food and Ty had his grilling crew ready consisting of Jack, Tim, Max and Scott. Lisa and Lou brought over all the pies which was pretty impressive. Just a little after noon the guests started showing up. Everyone was in a great mood and the kids got use of the Day Care playground. The Rehoming Center was opened up for folks to walk through too. Ellory had made it in the night before and along with Katie and Lyndy took people around. Everybody was looking forward to the grand opening and hearing from Amy and Ty later. Amy, Ty, Mallory and the kids were perfect host making sue the staff knew where the drinks were and that food would be put out at 2:00pm and people could eat when the wanted to. Amy and Ty were going to speak at 3:00pm so everyone was told to be in the main tent at that time, otherwise they were free to do whatever they wanted.

The afternoon was perfect and the weather cooperated, even though there had been a threat of rain. All of the staff, especially the kids, were having a blast. Baby Matthew was the center of attention with Sienna close behind. The decision to be made was if Bethany, Lyndy to Katie were the biggest baby hogs. Bethany joked, "So when do these two start coming to visit us at the Day Care Center. They are the cutest." At 3:00 sharp Ty got everyone's attention as Amy joined him standing at their seats. Clay gave them a microphone that was set up to the sound system that was playing music. Ty spoke first, "Well on behalf of Amy, myself and the kids, we welcome you here today. We are blessed that so many decided to come and seeing all of the families warms our hearts. Family is why we are here, why we are successful and most importantly why we continue to grow. We grow together for all of you. Many years ago, Amy and I officially decided to work together and now, 15 years later, what we all have accomplished is well beyond our expectations. Our business continues to grow, we have successfully merged two dynamic operations, we are going to raise Llamas and most importantly to our family, the Lyndy Bartlett, Thomas Payne Equine Rehoming Center will be opening shortly. Isn't the place awesome?" Everyone burst into applause hooting and hollering. A voice from the crowd yelled out, "Did you say Llamas?" Amy laughed and spoke up. "Yes we did, we have purchased a herd of 100 or so Llamas that will be pastured on the new Heartland expansion. For now Caleb, Clay and Rusty will maintain the hear with help from others, but eventually we will assign staff to it and grow the heard. The first sheering is early spring and it will be an adventure." Everyone applauded again really excited about this out of the ordinary endeavor. Ty continued, "Thanks to the diligent work of Lisa, Lou, Jenn and Ben the consolidation of Fairfield Stables is complete and will consist of two facilities, Fairfield and Briar Ridge. Ben will be the General Manager, Jenn the Hospitality Manager and the former leader of Briar Ridge will be the new Operations Manager. To say we are pleased is an understatement. We applaud the leadership team but mostly the entire staff, who worked so diligently to join the two companies. A special thanks to Max for all of his work, making sure all of the legalize was handled with the help of Lou and Lisa. But now, Amy will talk about the new Rehoming Center and recognize the manager, Ellory Whitepath." The crowd really whooped it up especially when Amy introduce Ellory as the manager. Everyone thought highly of her and were secretly hoping that she would stick around. Amy took the mic and took a deep breath. Everyone could tell that she was emotional and was gathering herself to talk. Ty stayed next to her and put his arm around her waist. As she leaned into him something happened that would be talked about for years to come. All six of her kids got up to stand with her for support. She took a minute to hug each of them as Ellory stepped away to give them the moment. But then something happened that brought the entire group to tears. Jack stood up as Ty stepped back with his kids, put his arm around his granddaughter and kissed her forehead whispering, "You got this kid."

Jack stepped back as JT jumped into his arms, "We love you GG." Amy took a deep breath and began, "My mom, grandpa and great-great grandpa were renowned horse healers and are the foundation of what we all do." Caleb yelled out,

'You aren't too bad yourself Amy." Everyone laughed as the tension level subsided and Cass, Mallory and Katie smacked him. "Thanks Caleb O'Dell. Anyway, they set the stage for us to continue their work and one of the things we have done was always made sure that the horses we rehomed were matched with the right owner. Our increased client business has continued to dimmish our rehoming business so a while back Ty and I were talking and came up with this idea. We went to Lou, Scott, Lisa and Grandpa and they were all for it. When the new land became available our first thought was to just expand what we currently do but we decided to begin the development of a new Rehoming facility to only focuses on helping horses find new homes and owners find new friends. Actually that will be our mission statement. But even more exciting is that Ellory Whitepath had agreed to set up and run the operation for at least a year. Secretly we hope longer. Ellory come back up here." Again, everyone clapped loudly for not just the new center but that she was going to run it. Amy continued, "Ellory's father Huten was an internationally recognized horseman who made his journey a few years ago before any of us wanted to see him go. He was a mentor to me as well as my mom and helped us both over the years. His influence on horse healing is known all over and we couldn't be happier to have his amazing daughter on our team. The grand opening will be in a couple of weeks and our friends from Good Morning Calgary will be doing some taping for their show that day, so Caleb we need to make sure the placed is all spruced up." Everyone laughed as Caleb threw up his arms. Now even his kids gave him trouble. After a little silent moment, Amy continued. "Rehoming horses is a core value that we need to reinvigorate. I can't tell you how excited we are and I know the Borden's will be spending as much time as we can there. And even better news, somehow word got out and we already have over a dozen families looking for a rehomed horse and almost 20 horses committed to be rehomed. Ellory will definitely be hitting the ground running. The Board is fully committed to these new endeavors and we continue to build a legacy for the future. Not just for the family but for all of us." Again everyone applauded enthusiastically when Jack touched Amy's shoulder wanting to speak. The patriarch of the family uncomfortably took the microphone. "Well I am not the most prolific speaker but I wanted to say something. And Cass keep Caleb under wraps." Everyone laughed as he cleared his throat. "When I look back in my life I still have fond memories of my father-in-law, Thomas Payne. I met with him at 4am to ask if I could marry his daughter and he immediately said yes. My horse Charlie loved the man and I soon came to see that every horse did. Lyndy was also very skilled at handling horses and not a bad singer as well and the first love of my life. As I watch you all work with the horses that come to us I see them. My daughter Marion took the family skills to a whole new level. Her gift was unique and I see Marion in Amy every single day. Unfortunately in Lou, I see me, but with a love for family that is unmatched. I am a fortunate man in that I have had two strong independent women in my life and we all know that Lisa's business skills are a foundation for our success and notoriety. This Rehoming Center is just another step in the growth of our company and our family, which is everyone here. As Amy said the Board is 1000% behind all of the new endeavors, although Llamas may take a little getting used to." Everyone laughed and applauded at the same time. "Please continue enjoying yourselves for the rest of the afternoon and thanks to all of you for everything you do every day."

The BBQ was a huge success and family had a lot of leftovers to take home. The next morning Max and Lilly headed home after breakfast and each of the kids hugged them. JT and Lilly walked away for a private conversation until his bus showed up. As Amy and Ty headed over the entire organization was reeling from all of the exciting news. The ranch hands couldn't wait to see the herd of Llamas and many others were excited for the grand opening of the Rehoming Center. Ellory got at it and expected to have horses ready to look over well before the event. Several horse people from her reservation had some in to help and her apartment was a little crowded. Amy and Ty supplied her a golf cart so she could easily move from her apartment to the center in less than 5 minutes. Amy and Ty were also very busy as the news of the expansion project with media coverage, more and more clients wanted to use all of the H.E.E. companies. One email that Ty got was exciting. There was a National meeting for the Canadian Equine Society, whose members consisted of horse training and rehabilitation centers throughout the entire country, which was being held in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Society wanted them to present the story of H.E.E and all of its success. As members they felt that the story could influence other centers like theirs and give them ideas for improvement and even expansion. The conference was a week after the grand opening and the society was going to fly them there and put them up at the hotel where the conference was being held. Amy didn't know if she was more excited about the conference or being with Ty for the weekend. He responded and agreed, committing to have a presentation for them to review the week prior. Lisa, Jack and Lou as well as the kids were so excited for them. Lou immediately offered to work with them and put the presentation together. The kids were also benefitting from the media exposure at school. Their friends were so excited and the teachers couldn't stop asking about everything that was going on. Maddie, Annie and Addie's teaching teams asked if they could take a field trip to the Equine Center and Rehoming facility. There had been tour request before but not from the Hudson school system. The staff believed that it kids saw what was going on it could help them determine what they wanted out of life so the H.E.E. team happily accepted it. Mallory was picked to coordinate them with the school and the staff who fell right into her wheel house. Each week for the remainder of the year, individual classes would visit on Wednesday afternoon for a structured event that helped them experience what was done here and the groups would be no more than 20 so the experience would be memorable for them. Top of mind for Lyndy was the date she and Wyatt had planned for the upcoming Friday. So the weeks coming up to Thanksgiving would be filled with a lot of fun and exciting things for the family. At dinner later in the week, they were all talking about the next few weeks and how fun Thanksgiving was going to be with the two new babies. Maddie laughed, "Babies make things a lot of fun and Sienna and Matty are so cute." Annie joined in, "I know it is so cool, the family is bursting at the seams and who knows how many more we will have." Lyndy grabbed Wyatt's hand and smiled as JT seriously spoke "I agree that they are pretty cool but we always have to make sure we don't take what we have for granted. We need to be nice and pay attention to all of our family and friends, just like Maddie is with Gwen and Sylvia." The family was overwhelmed with such a mature comment from their little brother. Finally Amy called him over to her lap and hugged him tightly. "JT you are exactly right, we all need to make a pact that everyone is treated the same, with respect and love. We can officially call it the Borden way." They all agreed as Wyatt spoke up, "Well with all these new babies we need to find some more bedrooms." Everyone laughed as the girls tickled him. Amy and Ty just smiled realizing that right here, right now was the happiest time of their lives.

It was the night of their date which had to be pushed back to the Friday of the Rehoming Center grand opening of since everyone was so busy at school and helping Ellory get things set up. As Lyndy was getting ready with Annie and Addie's help she was excited to have some alone time with Wyatt. They were going to have early dinner at Maggie's and then go see a movie they were both dying to see. She wanted to look nice but it was still casual. With Wyatt she always wanted to look nice although and she realized that if she was dressed formally or in barn clothes he still looked at her the same way. She cherished what they had and dreamed of a life just like her mom and dad, not always perfect, but where they would always support and love each other. Whenever she saw Wyatt approaching she felt a warm rush of love that her mom told her she still felt when her mom saw her dad. JT was with Wyatt as he got ready as he coached him, "Dude you are wearing that? You do want Lyndy to look at you right?" He laughed, "She likes this shirt and she bought me those jeans." JT scoffed, "Well I guess it's OK if you are going to a rodeo." He rethought his choice and looked through his closet picking a new shirt out. JT approved and they laughed while he changed. The young couple came down the steps and went to say goodbye to Amy and Ty who were in the living room in front of the fire. Amy smiled, "Well you two look great. We heard that JT had to help you Wyatt?" He laughed, "Yes he seems to think he is a fashion expert and knows what Lyndy likes to see me wear." Ty laughed, "Yea he seems to be good at that." They hugged and headed out to his truck, Lyndy sitting right next to him. She kissed his cheek as they pulled away gazed at him, she was in love. Their dinner and movie was just what both of them needed. They had really been busy helping Ellory and it was nice to just spend a few hours together. They had fun talking at dinner and at the movie they cuddled closely enjoying the feeling of being so close. Their intimacy was still strong but their opportunities for it were limited, so being together in a dark movie theater was just what they needed. The movie was awesome but they still snuck in a few kisses and more. They parked outside the entrance of the Miracle Ranch and got a little more aggressive with each other but out of respect decided to make sure they got home on time. Tomorrow will be busy with final preparations for the grand opening so they needed their rest. As they walked to their rooms in the quiet house they enjoyed one last embrace and passionate kiss reluctantly going into their rooms. They cherished their time together as their bond continued to grow. For them, tonight was perfect.

The day of the grand opening was hear and everyone was abuzz. The crew from Good Morning Calgary had their equipment set up and other media outlets had arrived. Ellory was relatively composed but nervous about being on the show with Alex and Sam but Amy assured her they were great and also good friends. About 200 people were invited along with a lot of politicians from Hudson, and Calgary. Family and friends were all in attendance along with some invited guest. Even little Matthew Weber who had a Rehoming onesie on was there. There were drinks and finger foods ready for the afternoon program. Alex and Sam would be doing a taped program that would be shown on Monday and they also brought their spouses. They volunteered to host the event and make it a part of the experience. As they time drew near Alex spoke to the crowd getting everyone's attention. The crowd settled and both of them took a microphone with Amy, Ty, Lisa and Jack standing with them. Sam spoke first, "Good afternoon. Well here we go again, our friends at the Heartland Equestrian Experience have done it again. This company has continued to grow and provide a wide range of services for many local, provincial, national and North American clients. Their reach has gone well beyond their expectations and to be frank, they give us Albertans a lot to be proud of. The Lyndy Bartlett, Thomas Payne Equine Rehoming Center is another step in providing care for our Equine friends and their owners." Everyone clapped as Alex stepped in. "So before our host talks, we have a message from a friend of theirs. The monitors around the area lit up with the Prime Minister's seal and after few seconds, a smiling Justin and Maryanne Trudeau came into view. He spoke up, "Well, good after noon fellow Canadians. Maryanne and I are so please to be able to talk to you all today as our friends, Amy and Ty Borden along with the other great people who operate this fine organization, reach another milestone. We have had the honor to know these fine folks for several years and their commitment and passion for what they do is something we should all be proud of. It never ceases to amaze us at this family's drive and dedication to our equine friends and all of our citizens. We wouldn't miss this for anything but just want to take the chance to congratulate them and mark this amazing accomplishment. Best of luck and thank you for everything you do." The crowd erupted as many were impressed with the relationship between the two families. As the applause died down, Maryanne spoke, "We just wanted to say hello and to our daughter Haley, we love you. And Maddie you need to check in with your buddy here and finally Amy, give me a call. Take care everyone."

After the official ribbon cutting that consisted of The Borden famliy, Lisa, Jack and Ellory, Amy stepped forward to make a short speech. She smiled as she went to the microphone, after Alex's wonderful introduction. Jack stood on one side of her and Ty on the other. She took a breath and began, "On behalf of my family, the Board of Directors and all of our amazing staff, I want to thank you all for celebrating this day with us. Rehoming horses has been one of the things we have done for generations going all the way back to my great-great grandfather and great grandmother. They set the foundational standard that there is always one horse meant to be with the right human partner. Recently due to the demands of the business we had moved away from this, but one day, I was sitting with my husband, grandpa and sister Lou and we decided to refocus on this amazing process. After a recent land acquisition we decided that that is what we would do, so here you have it." The crowd applauded as Amy gathered herself to continue. This was very emotional for her and Ty noticed pulling her in for support. "The Lyndy Bartlett, Thomas Payne Equine Rehoming Center is a reality and we are so excited that Ellory Whitepath, a dear friend of the family has decided to run it for us. Now she says for at least a year but we hope that is longer. Welcome Ellory." Everyone applauded. "Our goal is to place the right horse with the right owner and we will make sure that that is the result of all of our rehoming activity. I can proudly say we have already received 16 horses to rehome and countless requests and in fact, today we will present our first match. Ginger here was an old chuck wagon horse and although only 10 years old is retired and needed a place to go. That's where 10 year old Gloria comes into play. Her parents were our first request and today, Ginger is going to her forever home and we couldn't be more pleased. Please give a round of applause for this family and their new addition." Applause rose and camera's flashed. Sam joked, "Looks like we have our first interview Amy." Amy smiled shaking her head in agreement and continued with a shaky voice, "My mom Marion Fleming taught me everything I know about horses. One day we rescued a horse from a nasty owner that mistreated him. It would be my first rehoming experience and my horse Spartan was the result. If you don't know him, he is one of the horses on our company logo and he passed a few years ago." She took a deep breath as her emotions were overwhelming her. "When we rescued him we had an accident and my mom was killed. Much to my unhappiness, my grandpa brought Spartan to me and told me I had to settle him as he was completely out of control. I was furious but finally decided to try. Little did I know that I was rehoming Spartan for me and outside of Ty and the kids he was the love of my life. Spartan was the last connection to my mom and.." At this point Amy couldn't continue and fell into Ty's arms and the crowd was respectfully quiet with many tears beginning to flow. After a few seconds Jack stepped up. "Spartan was the horse that helped my granddaughter realize her gift that had come to her from those before her and now after. Spartan helped many of us back then. For Lou and I, it kept the memory of my daughter and their mother alive as Amy helped countless horses as the Miracle Girl. And Ty will tell you that watching Amy work with Spartan was the reason he fell in love with her and along with her have built this place. Just like family, horses are the reason we do what we do and this new center will continue that legacy. We thank everyone for coming, so enjoy yourself with some snacks and drinks and of course check out this beautiful new rehoming facility." Everyone applauded and did exactly that as the party went on for several hours. Alex and Sam did interview the first customer along with Amy, Ty, Jack, Lisa, Ellory and Lou. And they got some baby time in. Amy and Ty were inseparable for the rest of the afternoon watching the activities around them. The kids were perfect host and made sure they talked with all the guest. It was a perfect afternoon and as they sat Ty whispered, "Are you Ok?" She smiled and leaned into his shoulder, "I feel wonderful, look at what we have done." They held each other quietly, dreaming of the future.
