Chapter One Hundred Sixty-One
Support for JT, Wyatt's Weekend
A/N – If some are a little overwhelmed with the JT story my intention is to set the foundation for my sequel and as I would hope you are good with, JT will be a major player in it. Plus I am really intrigued about what his gift and have done a lot of research on it, it is quite real and pretty cool. I will put some closure on it for now. Well let's get to Wyatt's birthday and most assuredly a date for our two young lovers. As always I will be discreet with their relationship but not diminish the bond they are forming. After that another Christmas. I have no idea how many the span of this story has covered, but I think 5. It will be fun with the new babies and now Mallory and Doug expecting. I want to make sure I give both Christmas and New Year's the proper coverage and then move to JT's birthday and the end of this story. I am really getting excited about the sequel and would love to get you thoughts and ideas. I am very pleased that so many of you have enjoyed this ride with me. I have a little over 66K views and 520+ reviews. It is overwhelming and humbling for sure. I hope everyone continues to enjoy "our" story. Mature Content Enjoy!
A/N Review Response – (I will apologize in advance) I have again received a couple of reviews that I cannot respond to so here I go. First and foremost, I will never delete a review. I enjoy all of them and as I have mentioned several story lines have come from the reader's insights. This is my first attempt at writing a story and I appreciate the patience all of you have had. One concern was that I have included a character that they feel shouldn't get any recognition. I respect opinions of cast members, heck there are some I am not fond of as well. But for my story, this character and storyline is important to the overall goal of what I am trying to accomplish. I don't apologize for it but do completely respect the opinion. Another point is that I haven't watch one episode after episode 14X1 which for me ended the show, so what has happened after that is irrelevant to me, so any reference to that is coincidence. Also, I have read a lot of Heartland Fanfic and Wattpad stories. I am sure that some of the character names have bled over to my story but it is not intentional. As with most of my writing, it just comes to me. Finally, a reviewer infers that the family is all about the money, glamor and recognition. My intent is not to focus on that but to use their fame and fortune to do good things. I believe that they have taken what they have accomplished and turned it into positives. Also their wealth is shared with everyone that works with them through profit sharing and bonuses. Wealth can be handled in many ways but in my story it is shared and used for good, not flaunted. Thanks to everyone who provides reviews, I respect every one and as I close this story out and move on to the next I will continue to cherish them.
At breakfast, the next morning the family talked to JT and although he recalled his dreams, he didn't know of the outburst. "Mom, I did talk with grandma and great grandma about Grandma Lilly but it was just about the fact that she means so much to me along with them and all of you." With his understanding and Ok they told him they would call the doctor and most likely he would need to go to see him. He smiled and understood and quickly changed the subject to his fishing trip to the pond with GG and Trent later that day. They left a message with Dr. Flanders about what happened and even though it was the holiday weekend he called them and set an appointment for Wednesday of next week. He assured them that with everything going on it was expected he could react. What concerned all of them was what he was saying. They figured out it was about the conversation with Lilly. After they filled her and Max in, along with Jack and Lisa, she decided to fly in on Sunday night. The incident was kept in a very tight circle so an already embarrassed JT would be spared any overwhelming attention. Although Amy and Ty were reluctant, an insistent JT wanted to go to school on Monday. The rest of the weekend went well as the kids spent time with friends and each other. Amy and Ty snuck a trail ride in just for them which was something they hadn't done in a while. They also spent some time at the Rehoming Center since Ellory was not coming back until Monday morning. As they walked around with Lyndy and Wyatt Ty was smiling a lot. Wyatt chuckled, "You look happy Ty, what's up." He slowed letting the girls move ahead of them and whispered to Wyatt, "Like her mom, this is Amy's roots, what she first started doing so long ago. It started with Spartan and over the early years she rehomed 100s of horses. Each time the light in her eyes told me how special it was to her. Like I have said, watching her work with Spartan was why I fell in love with her. This center is very important to her and to our family." Wyatt pondered his comments and smiled, "Well I think your daughter has the same look. See how they are, greeting every horse and talking with them. They are definitely alike in so many ways." He took a breath, "I love your daughter and I just hope that we can reach a level of love and respect that you and Amy have." Ty looked at him patting his back, "You will, Amy and I see it in you both every day. Just be patient because my daughter loves you very much. Amy and I are sure of it" They were interrupted by an impatient Lyndy, "Come on you old men, keep up." They caught up and kissed their girls on the cheeks. The continued to walk through the facility reviewing the notes on their iPads. It seemed the startup if the center was going better than expected and everyone was pleased. Ty saw Amy smile and whispered in her ear, "Our dream continues horsey girl." She leaned into him as happy as she had ever been.
Lilly's arrival was celebrated with the Bordens, Jack and Lisa at the Miracle Ranch. The entire family went to get her so Jack and Lisa were going to get dinner ready. At the airport Lilly walked through security and was overwhelmed when JT followed by the Borden herd headed her way. She laughed, "I feel like a celebrity or something!" After hugs and kisses all around they headed home in Wyatt's truck and the big SUV. As they pulled up, Jack and Lisa met them on the porch as Lisa embraced Lilly for a little longer than normal whispering into her ear, "It is so good to see you. Our little man really needs us right now." Lily smiled and hugged Jack and went to the guest room to settle in. Dinner was a lot of fun as the kids filled her in on school, work, friends and the holiday. Jack laughed, "Lilly, I think we even have some pie left!" Lilly was tired so she went to get ready for bed. Lyndy and Annie were in her room helping her unpack. She laughed, "So you two, how are the boyfriends?" Lyndy blushed, "Wyatt and I are great, he is really wonderful. His birthday is next weekend and we have a date. a night with some friends and then his party on Sunday." Lilly smiled, "Perfect timing for me don't you think." And Annie, I hear you and Jeremy are good." She blushed even more, "He is really great grandma, he is so nice and caring. He always makes sure I am Ok, holding doors and pulling my seat out. I am really excited to have the holiday with him and Mom and Dad are letting me and Addie have our boyfriends here for New Years." Lilly laughed, So a New Year's kiss for sure!" The girls giggled and Lilly sat down looking very tired. Lyndy asked, "Are you Ok grandma?" She laughed and pulled them both into a hug. "I am good, this old woman is tired, jet lag for sure. Can I tell you a story." They both smiled shaking their heads, yes. "Well the first time I met your mom I could tell right away that your dad loved her a lot. They way he would look at her, always taking care of her and boasting about everything she could do. I was not in a good place then and that was the only thing that made me fight to get better. Seeing them so in love was something I wanted to be a part of. And girls, when I first met you, I was even more driven to get better. Love is very fragile, but when you find true love it is a life changing feeling. Don't ever forget that." They both had teared up as Annie giggled, "Thanks grandma, we will. Our mom and dad are so important to us and always show us what true love is like." As they left JT came in to say goodnight. He had been waiting outside until they left as he wanted to have some time with her alone. He lightly knocked and went in. Lilly had the biggest smile on her face as he came into her embrace. They laid down next to each other and talked. Lilly whispered, "So tell me about what happened the other night, I hear you woke everyone up." He looked down embarrassed, "Honey talk to me, you can tell me anything." He smiled meekly and looked over to her, "Well when I woke up I was kind of confused and when they asked me what was up I kind of didn't tell them everything. I remembered a little later and haven't had the nerve to tell them." She sat up and he joined her sitting in her lap. "Well why don't you tell me, I promise, I won't get mad and will only tell your mom and dad if you are Ok with it." JT took a deep breath and turned around to tell her everything.
Lilly listened attentively as he went through the entire story. He mentioned that although the meeting went Ok, he was still really nervous. He smiled, "I didn't want to let them all down. They asked so many questions and some were a little confusing so mom and dad helped me." She smiled again grabbing his hand, "I can only imagine how hard it was, but I heard you were awesome." He continued, "One question really made me worried. A lady I didn't know asked me if I thought that grandma and great grandma were actually alive since I seem to act that way when I talk to them. It bothered me that she thought I didn't know so I told her that I see them every day in my mom, sisters and Katie, so actually they are kind of. She seemed Ok and apologized later." Again Lilly smiled, "That is wonderful, you are amazing and I love you a lot." He got quiet and she noticed he had more to say. She gave him a minute and he looked at her with a tear in his eye. "I didn't tell them the real reason I was so upset. When we talked on the iPad, you said that one day you would be watching over me like they do and I realized that you would die one day." His eyes welled up, "Grandma I don't want you to leave yet, I am not ready." Lilly immediately realize how he was feeling and the burden he was experiencing. For such a little boy he had an old soul and when he loved he was all in. She pulled him in for a hug, "JT, I need you to listen to what I have to say. I will not lie and tell you that yes, one day I will pass away just like we all do. But I am doing really good so that day is a ways off. But no matter what, I will always be here for you and after I am gone, I hope you come and talk to me to like your Grandma Marion and Great Grandma Lyndy." He smiled as his eyes were still full of tears. "I know but it still bothers me. I understand that one day, you, GG and others will pass and I am Ok with that. I just guess the meeting and what you said mess up my head. I love you grandma." He hugged her tightly and they got comfortable until they both fell asleep. Amy woke up early the next morning and after checking he kids rooms saw that JT was gone. She knew right away where to look and sure enough there was JT sound asleep but no Lilly. She walked into the kitchen and she saw a smiling Lilly enjoying a coffee. ""Good morning, jet lag still has me out of sorts. I guess you saw my room guest." Amy smiled, "Yea I figured he was with you. He has been a little off so I hope he didn't bother you too much." She smiled as Amy sat down with a cup of coffee, "Oh my heavens no, he is my buddy. He needed to get something off his mind so we talked until he fell asleep. Amy he told me about what happened and made a confession." Lilly told her why he had the nightmare and what it was really about. She said she promised to keep it between them but really felt the need to tell her. Amy smiled, "Well we figured that was it because he kept saying over and over, "She can't leave me, I need her." I talked to Ty, Lyndy and Wyatt and they all agreed it was about you and what you said on the video call Thanksgiving." They hesitated as Lyndy walked into the room, "Sorry I kind of overheard you, grandma how is he?" She smiled grabbing her hand, "Well he will be fine, but he will need time. We need him to deal with it on his own and tell you guys when he is ready. You can tell Wyatt and Ty but let's keep it to that for now." They all smiled in agreement as Lyndy smiled again, "I am really glad I came here early, let's get some breakfast going. And I can't wait for Wyatt's birthday and hearing about your big date." Lyndy blushed as they started getting things out to make.
It was still a few weeks until Christmas and the family stayed really busy with work and school. Lilly was busy visiting with Lisa and Jack and went with JT for the test he needed. While she was in town she also had a checking with the team in Calgary and got a good report, as it seemed she was doing well. At dinner that night the family celebrated. The business was booming but they were starting to prepare for the holiday reduction in hours. Everyone was engaged in helping with the regular business, the Llamas and the new Rehoming Center. As expected the Llamas were pretty easy to care for but the Rehoming Center was overwhelmed with horses and request. Ellory met with Lou, Lisa and Amy and they decided that after the first of the year they would look at adding permanent staff and even including the college students and kids form the youth program to help. But number one on Lyndy's list was Wyatt's birthday weekend in a couple of weeks. They were going on a date on that Friday, out with the others on Saturday and the party would be on Sunday. Maddie joked with her one morning when they were getting ready for school, "Lyndy let me know when you need me, I have already began making some list. Just give me the word and I am ready." She smiled and hugged her sister tightly. JT was doing much better and after the test he seemed to be even more calm. It didn't hurt that Lilly was there as they were seen together a lot. Amy and Ty were on the porch and even though it was a little cooler, they watched as he had Blue Boy out to groom him and Lilly was helping, Amy smiled, "Look at those two, think as thieves." Friday night came along as Amy and Ty found themselves alone. Lyndy and Wyatt were hanging out with friends overnight at one of their houses. Annie and Addie were staying overnight with Maya and Bella. Maddie was going with Gwen and her family to visit her grandparents in Edmonton for the weekend and JT was having a sleep over with Trent and Shawna. Lilly saw everyone was going to be gone so she decided to help Jack and Lisa as they were watching Georgie's kids and Sienna with Lou and Scott. She smiled at Amy when she told her, "I think I will just stay there since it seems you two have no kids." Amy blushed, "I know, it's crazy." They saw everyone off and had decided to have a nice dinner, relax and just enjoy themselves. As they all headed out Maddie smiled, "Now you kids be good." The girls all giggled as their mom blushed deeply. After a nice romantic dinner where Ty had gone all out with candles and flowers on the table they settled on the couch in front of the fire. They sat quietly just enjoying the time together. They had realized that these times had been a rarity and now with the kids so active they cherished being together again. Their relationship had always been strong but recently it seemed to both of them that it was growing even more. Amy leaned into him and simply whispered, "I love you Ty Borden." He smiled and chuckled, "Well that's good because I love you Amy Borden." They shared a very passionate kiss as each of their excitement levels started to rise. She giggled, "So let's see, the kids are all gone for the night and the house is all ours. We can kind of do anything, anywhere we want." He smiled, "Well what did you have in mind?" That ignited both of them as he rolled on top of her kissing her passionately. Their patience went away quickly as they began to move over each other's bodies. Clothes were easily discarded and soon they found themselves on the plush rug in front of the fired covered in a blanket. The sensation of their bodies so close and naked was too much as they each moved their hands and lips to please the other. Ty made a move to kiss and play with her breast as she moaned appreciatively. Somehow in her ecstasy she reached down to pleasure him as well moving her hand up and down his manhood. Amy shook in orgasm as his hand had reached her point of pleasure. He moaned her name as she was relentless in helping him release as well. They rolled together as one as covers and pillow flew around the living room. They each stopped and looked at the other with a love that only they shared. She whispered, "Ty" and he knew it was time for them to join together. He gently entered her and as she arched her back another climax came. They continued to make love in front of the burning fire. There was no rush as they eventually reached a mutual and rewarding orgasm. As they settled the held each other and when he gathered himself he looked around the room laughing. "I think we made a mess. Amy looked around and saw clothes, cover and pillows all over the place. She giggled, "Well it is still early, so let's clean up, maybe have a nice bath and see where things go from there." She jumped up and they cleaned up less any clothes on their bodies. Their bath was perfect and the rest of their night was as well.
Everyone made back home by midafternoon as Amy and Ty really enjoyed sleeping in. The family had a great dinner, catching up on their overnights and finalizing the plans for Wyatt's birthday. Lyndy was really excited about the weekend and also about her Christmas surprise even though she kind of knew. Addie and Wyatt were tight lipped and would not tell her even though she constantly asked them. All of the kids had fun and when they were asked, Amy and Ty did as well. Lyndy smiled, "So all alone overnight, kind of nice I bet. What did you do without your amazing children here" The girls looked at them waiting for an answer. Ty smiled, "We had a nice dinner and watched a movie. I won't lie but it was nice but of course we missed you all." Maddie rolled her eyes, "Whatever, I bet you guys were all over each other." Annie laughed, "Well the house seems cleaned, I bet you had a lot of things to pick up." The badgering continued as Amy stuttered, "Girls, you are all always on our minds, it's a parent thing. But we enjoyed begin together like we always do. We even slept in and got some extra rest." Addie mumbled under her breath, "You probably needed it." After a little uncomfortable silence JT spoke up. "You girls are crazy you know," They all laughed and then he looked up, "Oh mom, I found these under the couch. I guess they must have fell out of the laundry basket." Amy and Ty almost passed out choking on their coffee as he held up a pair of Ty's boxers, the ones that he had on last night." The girls struggled to control their laughter as Wyatt seeing what was about to happen he spoke up, "Hey buddy can you help me with something in my room. We can drop those off in the basket on the way." A relieve Amy looked at him mouthing a thank you and as they left the girls lost it. Addie was the first to speak up, "Just watched a movie hey?" The girls all continued to giggle and throw out inuendoes. Finally Amy spoke up, "Your dad and I had a really nice night and we are sorry that we love each other. I don't know why you guys are being so mean about it. You know that I love your dad very much and he loves me. We don't spend a lot of time alone and it is nice to have time together." She was getting teary eyed, upset that the girls were giving them trouble. Normally she would brush it off but she realized that they were all getting older and had friends and school that occupied their time. "You know, we love all of you but you are growing up and dad and I miss some things about the times when you were younger." Even Ty was a little startled with Amy's minor outburst, but completely understood where she was coming from. The girls regretted their actions and were all getting emotional as well. Lyndy spoke up, "Mom, we are sorry. You guys will always be our parents and the most important people in our life and we have no right to question you about what you did last night or for that fact anytime you are romantic. I for one love it." The other three girls shook their heads in agreement each telling them both how sorry they were. After a round of hugs Addie spoke up, "You are our parents and will always be, we love you so much. Anyway dad, who is going to change your diaper when you get older." That brought them all to a laugh as JT came back with Wyatt looking at him and the girls giggling again, "Wyatt I will never understand women." Ty high fived him and the went to have desert. Everyone was so happy about their family and the love they shared.
After a busier week than normal it was time for what JT called, WBW weekend, short for Wyatt's Birthday Weekend. Lyndy and Maddie were so happy they got a lot of the planning done the weekend prior so they felt good about the festivities. There would be a slight change since Sienna was not feeling well so the Saturday group date night date would have to be done later. Lyndy wasn't too upset as it gave her time to get ready for Sunday's family and friends party at the Miracle Ranch. Her main focus now was getting ready for their date. She had everything planned out and Wyatt was not allowed to know anything, which did not make him happy. Everyone knew most of the plans except JT who for sure would tell him. After a trail ride she had early reservations at a nice restaurant in the foothills near Longview, which was close to the family fishing cabin, which was closed down for the season. Somehow she convinced her mom and dad to let her go there with him to make sure everything was Ok and stay over. This was the part that was only known to her mom and dad as they story was they were going to stay with a client who needed a checkup in the horse that been treated at the Miracle Ranch. The family offered to have them stay the night. Lyndy and Wyatt would check the horse out and come back home the next afternoon. Ty was hesitant at first until Amy reminded them that at their age, they had to sneak off for the loft or a trail ride to ever have time alone. She laughed, "Ty you know they have been together and they are smart kids, you need to trust them." He laughed, "Well I know what you Borden women can be like, you don't make it easy." After they got back from the ride they cleaned up and got their overnight bags. Wyatt actually thought the plan was to stay with the family so Lyndy was every more excited to be with her overnight. At Ty's insistence Wyatt was driving so Lyndy planned to tell him about dinner first and then move to the rest of their evening surprise. Wyatt was talking quietly with Ty when Amy and Lyndy came down the steps. He couldn't keep his eyes off her as she came up to kiss his cheek, "Lyndy you look amazing, you are so beautiful." After some goodbyes and have funs they headed out. Ty smiled with a small tear in his eye as Amy looked at him, "What's wrong, they have gone on dates before?" He chuckled, "I always use to say that to you. Like I said you Borden women can cast a spell on us." As soon as they pulled out, Lyndy scooted close and kissed his cheek, "Happy Birthday Weekend!" She turned on her phone and set the address for dinner in her GPS. "Here is where we are going" He smiled and mounted the phone getting on their way. The Restaurant/Café was them, not to fancy but nice and cozy. They shared each other's dinner selections and had a lot of different desserts. They laughed and held hands getting the attention of many of the other patrons, who smiled at the young couple. They looked a little older than they were and the waitress even offered them drinks, which of course they turned down. When the bill came Lyndy was ready but the waitress mentioned that it had already been paid for by her parents. She huffed a little but realized it was for the both of them and that her parents were the best. They headed out to the truck and after a pretty passionate kiss, Wyatt spoke up, "That was an awesome dinner Lyndy, thank you. Do you have directions to the client's ranch?" As they jumped in the truck, she giggled, "Well about that, I kind of lied. Actually we are going to the fishing cabin and before you freak out mom and dad know. They kind of wanted someone to check it out since it is close up and I volunteered us, like overnight." His eyes raised, "You mean to tell me your parents are Ok with this?" She smiled kissing his neck and giving him her answer. He laughed, "Well this is a quite a surprise. Is it my present?" She giggled, "One of them."
As they pulled up to the fishing cabin the first thing Wyatt saw was a truck that looked like Rusty's. He looked at Lyndy and she assured him it was and not some person they didn't know. They hopped out of the truck as Haley and Rusty met them. Lyndy hugged Haley and Rusty came over to shake Wyatt's hand, "I will tell you what your girlfriend rocks!" Haley laughed hugging Wyatt, "Happy Birthday Wyatt and we are out of here." After a final hug they headed out as Wyatt stood there dumbfounded. The fire pit was lit with a chair for two right in front of it. He grabbed the bags and walked in holding Lyndy's hand. They opened the door as both of their mouths dropped open. The cabin was spotless, the table was set with flowers and candles and a big cooler was filled with drinks, some late night snacks, stuff for smores and breakfast food. A note was on top, "Have fun, be safe and see you tomorrow at lunch, Mom and Dad." They both smiled and leaned into each other. Lyndy was finally able to talk, "I asked them to straighten up a bit but this is way over the line. Look at this place and look at the bed." There were clean sheets, pillows and a comforter with a couple of roses on the top. The fireplace was lit and everything was perfect. She hugged him tightly and looked into his eyes, "So birthday boy, what do you want to do first?" He laughed, "I think we should have smores and sit by the fire pit since it is still early." She smiled, "That sound awesome, I am going to change so you get the stuff ready. I will meet you out there." He saluted her and got things together. As he walked out she went and changed, into some warm pajamas with a surprise underneath them. She grabbed a heavy blanket for them and headed out. He laughed, "You have your pajamas on already, what are your intentions." She cooed, "Just get those marshmallows ready and we will see where it takes us." They laughed and giggled feeding each other smores. They were as close as they could be under the covers and both were enjoying their bodies so close together. Wyatt doused the fire and Lyndy took the supplies inside. He came in as Lyndy was coming out of the bathroom. She went to wait for him as he got ready for bed. When he walked out he looked at her attire with wide eyes as she giggled, "Birthday present #2." He joined her in an intense kiss. They were comfortable with each other's bodies and enjoyed the closeness they shared. Their hands and lips were all over each other and when they were ready, Wyatt reached over to the nightstand for a foil packet. He looked at her after he put it on and noticed she looked a little anxious. "Lyndy talk to me are you Ok?" She blushed and whispered, "I am Ok, our lovemaking is still new to me and I am a little nervous. Wyatt I want you to be happy with me and I guess I am a little worried about that. Some of the stupid girls at school talk about a girl has to be the one to please the boy and I just hope I please you." He grabbed her face and looked deeply into their eyes, "Lyndy those girls are stupid. A couple in love, like us, focuses on pleasing each other. It isn't a one way street. I am not an expert and we are each other's first, but I think we are doing things Ok. You are so beautiful but I respect you and would never do anything to hurt you. And I know that you love me completely and our intimacy is just a part of the love we share. Those dumb girls are too immature to understand true love." A that moment she had never loved him more. They loved each other and as expected it was slow and amazing while still being discrete. Lyndy smiled as they laid next to each other catching their breath. She looked at him, "Well I guess that was a present for both of us." They cleaned up and fell to sleep in each other's arms. Their dreams would be about their future, getting married, having children and continuing their parent's legacy, a legacy built on love and respect.
Wyatt was the first to wake up and as he opened his eyes he saw his beautiful girlfriend snuggled up to the pillows. During the night, they had each put their PJs on as it was cold but no matter what she was a vision of beauty. He carefully got out of bed and washed up before getting breakfast ready. The smell of coffee woke up Lyndy who noticed she was alone. As she walked out, she scoffed, "Wyatt it is your birthday, I should be getting breakfast ready." He took her in his arms and kissed her, "Well I have already had a lot of presents so I figured I would handle it." She kissed him deeply then looked at his eyes, "Happy Official Birthday. Are you enjoying it so far?" He smiled into her lips, "So far it has been perfect, but let's eat, I am hungry." They enjoyed the breakfast and decided to go on a walk before they had to head back. They walked along the river looking at the beautiful fall scenery. The river was running high as it had been raining in the foothills and the sound was relaxing them. They talked quietly but mostly held each other as they strolled. As they turned the bend Lyndy heard a weird noise, like a whining. "Did you hear that?" Wyatt stopped. "Yea, it is coming from over there." She walked behind him as they headed to the noise. What they found broke their hearts. There were two puppies huddled together looking very hungry. While Lyndy tended to them Wyatt looked further and saw something that made him ill. The mother dog was laying there dead just 15 feet from them. By the look of things she fought off some wolves to save her pups but didn't survive. Lyndy got up but he grabbed her and told her not to look. "Lyndy lets take the pups back and I have to do something." They went back and he grabbed a shovel, "She saved their lives and needs a proper burial." When he came back he took Lyndy and the pups to the grave site. Lyndy laid the dogs on the soft dirt and it looked as though they knew she was there. Wyatt got some wild flowers and laid them on top of the grave. Lyndy put a stick marking the grave and vowed to come back and make something nicer. They headed back to the cabin and got ready to leave. They hurried as the dogs looked Ok but needed to be fed. As they got ready, Lyndy put them in a huge blanket in the seat between them and they nestled in falling asleep. She hugged Wyatt, "Well these are presents I didn't plan on and thank you for the night. But Wyatt when you respected the mother the way you did, I saw my dad in you. You will be a great vet." He smiled and thanked her with a deep kiss, "Well let's get out kids home." They pulled up to the Ranch as everyone was anxiously waiting for them. Lyndy had called ahead and Ty got some milk ready for the pups. They girls hovered around them like a newborn baby as Amy and Ty hugged the two of them. Amy smiled, "Well how was you evening and night, it seems the morning took a little bit of a turn." They smiled as Wyatt looked down. Ty talked to him quietly, "Wyatt, what you did for the mother dog was amazing. She fought to save her babies and you respected that. I am really proud of you." Amy smiled as she held onto Lyndy, "We are proud of both of you."
After a calm night for the new puppies, since they stayed in the room with Lyndy, it was party day for Wyatt. A light breakfast was followed by the family taking care of the horses and then getting ready for guest. Ty and Wyatt spent some time looking over the pups and found they were in good shape. One had a minor ear infection and the other a slight rash. After all of their shots and attention they were worn out and fell asleep in the extra-large dog bed that they had in the clinic. It was actually used for new foals and had a heater. It seemed they had become royalty and Lyndy and Wyatt couldn't wait to show them to everyone. After some coaxing, Amy and Ty agreed to keep them as family dogs with a commitment from all of the kids they would care for them. The male puppy was named Buster and the female Billie. Amy and the girls worked on food prep as Ty, Wyatt, Rusty, Clay and JT set up s tables and chairs and began the BBQ. Jack and Tim came over to help and the ladies at Heartland as always worked on the pies. Lilly was excited as she got to help make some saskatoon berry ones. The family and guest arrived, wishing Wyatt a happy birthday and gushing over the puppies. Sienna, who was feeling better, along with Matthew also got a lot of attention. Maddie and JT guarded the dogs so the little ones didn't bother them too much. Ty figured they were 4-5 weeks old so they needed to be handled gently. As everyone was seated, Lyndy welcomed everyone and spoke about Wyatt, "When Wyatt showed up his life had not been the best. And after his Grandma left us he was all alone and my parents stepped up and welcomed to our family." She blushed, "I am kind of happy about that." Everyone laughed as he kissed her on the cheek. Wyatt spoke next, thanking everyone for coming and thanking Ty and Amy for taking him in as a part of their family. He continued as he got serious, "My life was full of struggles but it brought me here to this amazing family and group of friends. But most of all it brought me to the love of my life, Lyndy Marion Borden. She is amazing, kind, caring, passionate and loving. She is everything to me." They crowd clapped and teared up as Caleb yelled out, "Come on man, kiss her." They kissed a little more than they should have but everyone was happy for them. Ty told everyone it was time to eat as the food was laid out. As everyone ate, Lyndy and Wyatt walked around talking to everyone carrying the puppies. It was a perfect day and a perfect party. Wyatt received a lot of great gifts but Lyndy told him she would give him the one from her later. A resounding happy birthday was sung as cake, pie and ice cream were given out. The party broke up early as work and the last two weeks of school started the next day. The family took care of clean up as Wyatt and Lyndy walked to the benches behind the Day Care center, a favorite spot of theirs. They sat down and she handed him a square box. She laughed, "It is kind of a dorky gift and I hope you like it. He opened it and pulled out a photo album. The leather bound cover simply said Lyndy and Wyatt. Without words he opened it and looked through the pages smiling from time to time. The first few pages were pictures of his parents and several of his grandma, alone, just with him and with the both of them. The next few pages were pictures of him with the Borden kids, Ty and Amy. Most of them showed happy faces and a lot of laughing. Lyndy got nervous as he was quiet. Then he moved on to pictures of both of them together and individually. Pictures from dances, school, and on horses. He smiled and took extra time as there were pictures of Lyndy dancing and both of them working with horses. He laughed at the one next to the truck he had just bought. Everyone was a happy memory capturing moment that were special to him and to them as a couple. When he finished he noticed there were empty pages. Finally Lyndy had to say something, "Well do you like it." He put the album down and turned to face her, looking into her beautiful eyes. "Lynny, this is the most amazing gift I have ever received. The time you took to do this had to be overwhelming but it just confirms what I said earlier. Your family brought me in when I had nowhere to go and you are the person that I love." He kissed her deeply and she leaned back breathlessly. "The empty pages are for pictures of our future together." He was speechless and kissed her again with even more passion and love. He took a breath, "Well I think we may need a second book." She giggled and hugged him tightly never wanting to let him go. He was the man she loved and wanted to be with forever. After several minutes he smiled and whispered, "We better get back to our babies, they are probably looking for us. They walked hand in hand back to the house. His birthday and the weekend had been perfect.
