Chapter One Hundred Sixty-Three
New Year's Revelations
A/N – I have to admit that was my longest chapter to date because I couldn't stop writing. I had so many ideas to deliver that some may need to carry on to the next chapter. I remember how important new traditions were to Ty and old ones to Amy. I am confident that they have a great mix of both now and am positive they are here to stay. I am a firm believer that good things happen to good people and in this case, although some may think it is too perfect, the Borden family deserves all of it. And I expect I will have a lot of fun with Old Green and the puppies for sure. Moving forward we will have a week of fun and relaxation, with a little twist, and then move into New Years. I have a lot of ideas and hope to deliver a message with this chapter that confirms the past and sets up future expectations. The last few chapters may take a while but I promise that I will deliver a message that helps complete this part of the Borden story. Once we bring in the New Year we will give JT his well-deserved 5th birthday and then close things out. Thanks for reading and don't stop letting me know what you think. And ideas as always are welcomed! Mature Content Enjoy!
A couple of days after Christmas Ty and Wyatt were in the exam room looking over two anxious puppies as Lyndy watch nervously. She smiled as her dad walked Wyatt through all of the test, taking his time to describe every step and telling him why they did it. She beamed with joy watching Wyatt completely focused on what he was doing. She also couldn't help but see how the puppies looked at him for support and how he gave it to them. She heard her dad talk, "You are doing great and I don't think the dogs would be as calm as they are because of you. If you decide to be a vet, keeping animals calm and relaxed is as important as treating them. I have to say you seem to have that part handled" He patted his back as they finished the exam and gave them a few shots. Ty looked at his daughter, "Don't worry mom they are doing fine. I think we need to start moving to solid foods to ween them off just formula." Both of them were so relieved and they planned to take them on a ride and go to a park to play. It had turned cold and the weather was expected to get bad, with snow coming but not till later in the day. They packed them up and took Lyndy's new truck which had turned into their truck of choice. It had only been a couple of day's but she was making sure she drove it a lot. As they pulled away Amy walked up to Ty and put her arm around his waist. "Well there is a familiar scene." He just smiled as he kissed her forehead. Although business was lighter they still had a lot on their plate so they got back to it. The kids made sure they helped out as well but per the orders of their parents they needed to have some fun too. JT was spending some time with Trent and Shawna as Doug ant Mallory were deciding on things for the baby's room. Mallory was a little overwhelmed with the three of them so Doug made sure they were busy. He was off work over the holiday and Mallory was under the grip of morning sickness. Maddie was spending a lot of time with Gwen and Sylvia helping at the rehoming center as it had become a favorite spot for them. They really liked the horses and Ellory was happy to get the help as the stable was just about to full capacity. She had worked with Mallory to set up a request portal on the website and they had taught Maddie how to manage it. Of course she jumped in with her usual gusto and was determined to show them she could handle it. Annie and Addie, along with their group of friends also were enjoying their time off. But as with the rest of the family, they made sure they helped where needed. Annie was working with a few horses at the Equine Center and Addie had decided she was going to be her dad and sister's personal mechanic. She looked over the trucks a lot and had been studying up on Norton maintenance as well. Ty trusted her but she understood if she needed something to come to him for help. The week between the holidays was fun and busy and everyone was really enjoying the time even though it had been very cold.
The Friday after Christmas the family woke to a warm and comfortable house. Amy, Lilly and Ty decided to make a full breakfast so the smell of bacon, pancakes and baked goods wafted through the house waking everyone up with smiles. Slowly they came down still in their pajamas to greet their grandma and parents. JT asked, "Where is grandpa?" Lilly smiled, "He is sleeping in, he has been fighting a cold." Silently he got a cup of hot tea together and took it to him. Lilly smiled and leaned into Ty watching the concerned young boy head to their room. Lyndy and Wyatt came down and she was the first to notice, "Oh my god look at all the snow!" The night before a storm had blown in and there was a fresh blanket of 8" of snow on the ground. She looked out and saw some of the ranch hands already clearing the pens and pathways, a job that would take most of the morning. Then her eyes opened wide, "My truck, I didn't put it away!" She rushed to put on some boots and her heavy coat and gloves. Still in her pajamas she bolted out the door heading toward her snow covered green truck, that was parked outside in front of the garage used for what people called "The old stuff." She began frantically brushing it off when a panting Wyatt and Addie came up on her. Wyatt immediately began to help and Addie was laughing. "Sis, it's just water, like rain. Trust me it will not hurt the truck at all." Lyndy was still breathless brushing off the snow and was soaking wet. Rusty and Haley came over laughing as well. They had gotten there early to help clean th snow up. Rusty spoke up, "Lyndy we were just going to brush it off and put it in the shed with Old Blue. You do know it is just frozen water." Even Wyatt laughed then as Lyndy calmed a bit. "Sorry I am just worried. This truck is very important to me and I want to make sure it is Ok." Wyatt smirked, "More important than me it seems." She blushed and leaned into him, "Of course not babe, but I can't lie Abigail is a close second." They all laughed as Haley spoke up, "Oh my god she named it." The group finished the cleanup and moved it under cover. Wyatt, Lyndy and Addie came back to the house to join the family, who had started breakfast already. Ty laughed as Lyndy sneezed, "You do know Lyndy that it is just frozen water, it's no different that driving in the rain." Lyndy looked sternly, "And that is something I will never, ever do." The group laughed politely as Addie spoke up, "And just to explain things better, Lyndy has named the truck Abigail" Amy smiled, "Well I think that is awesome honey, we are happy that you like th truck. You need to get out of those wet clothes or you will get sick. And you can name it and do whatever you want with it. If it is as important as your dad's old truck is to us you will see how special it is." Amy grabbed Ty's hand as they both remembered all of the joy the truck brought them. The family continued to eat relatively silently when JT finally had to say something. "Mom I understand what you said but she named it Abigail?" After a few seconds of uncomfortable silence the entire group, even Lyndy, broke out in laughter. Lilly poked JT, "I agree honey, it is kind of weird." Lyndy looked shocked but continued to laugh. Amy and Ty held hands under the table silently realizing how much the loved everyone in the room. They were their life and meant everything to them.
The days up to New Years Eve kept the family busy but as planned, business had tapered off outside of the regular care of the animals on sight. Amy and Ty had their traditional party all planned out, well Mallory did and the kids were excited as they got to invite the friends that could make it. Annie and Addie were excited as their group could all attend, especially Desi and Jeremy. Unfortunately for Maddie, Ricky was out of town at his grandparents but Gwen and Sylvia could make it but had to leave a little early. Trent and Shawna would be there with JT and of course Lyndy and Wyatt were excited about their kiss at midnight. Max and Lily also were having a good visit but were planning to leave the day before New Years Eve to be with his family. JT was spending a lot of time with his grandma, with his most favorite time when he joined her for an afternoon nap. Max also had spent some time with Lou, Lisa, Amy and Ty going over some documentation and paperwork for the new rehoming center and the Briar Ridge/Fairfield consolidation to make sure the books were in order for tax purposes. They made some adjustments to the alignment of the companies as now with the Rehoming Center under the Miracle Ranch umbrella, the Miracle Ranch was generating almost 70% of the operating income for the company. Hiring Mallory was a godsend as with the increase in the business, Amy and Ty were spending more time running all of the pieces of the ranch and with her in place they had the time to do that and keep up with their work. Jack and Lisa had an impromptu BBQ lunch at Heartland so the family could say goodbye to Max and Lilly. The immediate family gathered and spent some time talking about the fun they had had over Christmas. Sienna and Matthew never left Lilly and Max's arms letting them get their baby fixes in. Max laughed as they were excited as one of their great-granddaughters was due any day, so the practice was welcomed. Amy and Ty along with JT had a long conversation with Lilly so JT was assured that she would always be available to talk if he needed it while his testing continued. It was a fun famliy get together but after some teary farewells, Jack and Lisa decided to take them to the airport. And of course JT finagled an invite as well so he joined them. The rest of the Bordens stayed to help clean up and after, Annie, Addie and Maddie stayed to hang with the Weber kids and Sienna. Lyndy and Wyatt had planned to spend the afternoon with Haley and Rusty, so Amy and Ty headed home. They were quiet on the short trip home as each of them realized that they were all alone. As they walked in the house they grabbed each other's hands and jogged up to their room, both with the same thing on their minds. Amy giggled, "I feel like we are sneaking up to the loft." Even thought they had a couple of hours they still locked their door and as soon as they did each of them helped the other out of their clothes. Their afternoon tryst, was full of their love for each other as they explored each other's bodies completely. Amy was the aggressor at first and Ty was a little surprised at her attention to him. She was always the perfect lover but today she seemed a little more focused. She moved effortlessly as she kissed and touched all the right places. Ty moaned, "Amy, oh my." She smiled looking up at him, "Enjoy it my love, I really want you right now." She continued helping reach the place she wanted him to be. As she settled it was Ty's turn and he unleashed a barrage of sensual kisses and his magical hands as Amy called them. She was stimulated and moaned his name over and over as she reach multiple orgasms. They joined together as one and finished with a torrid but sensual climax, moaning loudly. As he continued on as he always did they finally settled trying to catch their breath. Amy snuggled into him as in love as she had ever been. "Well that was fun, definitely like our loft rendezvous'." He smiled, "Well I have to say, I think it was much, much better, you are amazing." As they held each other they heard a Jack's truck pull up. They got dressed in record time and as Ty straightened up Amy went down to meet JT who was just walking up on the porch. She greeted him as he scurried onto the house, laughing, Hey mom, why is your shirt on backwards?"
New Year's Day was hectic for the family. Amy, Lyndy and Ty had some loose ends at work so Wyatt took charge of the kids with party prep. When the three of them finished up right before lunch they walked into the house shocked at what they found. Not only was everything spotless and set up for guest, a sandwich bar was set up for lunch with meats, chesses and an assortment of breads. Snacks and drinks were also ready to go and they had set up a nice table on the porch, which already had the drops down, keeping things warm. The snow had melted some but all of the walkways and areas around the house were cleaned and ready. Maddie happily escorted her mom, dad and older sister to start the line after they cleaned up. Lyndy beamed at what her boyfriend had orchestrated. "Wyatt, this is amazing and all of you guys rock." JT brought drinks to his parents when they sat down and jumped into his mom's lap, "Mommy did we do good? Wyatt said we had to step up and help so we did. I helped with some of the cleaning." She smiled a little teary eyes, "You did great sweetie, all of you did." The family enjoyed a fun lunch laughing and having a good time. Maddie ribbed her older sisters, "Are you guys looking forward to you New Year's kiss?" They all blushed a little until Addie blurted out, "Sorry your boyfriend won't be here, looks like you may have to get yours later." She immediately saw the look on her little sister and knew that upset her. She to up to go hug her, "I'm sorry Mads, that was mean. If you want you can give Desi a kiss, he is pretty good." They all laughed when Ty spoke up, "Ok, enough with the kissing talk." As they continued, JT was parlaying to stay up to midnight. Trent and Shawna were going to stay in his room so they would all be there. He had even said that Shwana could have his bed and he and Trent would use to portable cots. He looked at his mom and she knew what he was going to ask. "JT, stop looking at me like that, dad and I talked to Mallory and Doug and you three can stay up, but all of you need to take a nap this afternoon, that's the deal." He smiled and went to hug his parents. Wyatt cleared his throat, "Well, well it looks like someone might be getting a kiss at midnight also." Everyone giggled, looking over to the now beet red little boy. He huffed, "Wyatt, I am only 4, well almost 5, still and you are all weird." He was looking down still embarrassed but raised his eyes to look at his mom. He smirked because he was planning to give Shawna a little peck on the cheek as a friend. Her eyes smiled back at him understanding what he was planning. They cleaned up as the rest of the family went back to work. Ty and Wyatt had to go get the food from Maggie's and some additional drinks. Clay was showing up to set up the music and Maddie, Annie and Addie went to tend to the horses making sure they were good for the night. As promised, JT went for his nap and Lyndy offered to join him as she had been feeling a little off. She took some aspirin and prayed she was not getting sick. Wyatt and Amy checked on her a few times and she seemed to be a little warm to the touch but not too bad. She whispered to him, "Looks like you need to keep an eye on her, she is pretty determined to have a good time tonight and you know how she can be." He smiled, "I got this, I'll make sure she is Ok." They smiled and left the two of them to their nap, as they both were taking them for a good reason.
Late afternoon some of the guest started to arrive. Although they were prepared for some kids a lot of the parents came alone to enjoy the adult part of New Year's Eve. Outside of Lyndy and Wyatt the rest of the kids had their own area on the porch since they didn't really want to mingle with the older folks. As usual, Jack, Lisa, Scott and Lou showed up early and the ladies helped Amy, Lyndy, Mallory and the girls get all of the food ready. It would strictly be an app, snacks and drinks night with no need for a full blown meal. Jack and Scott helped Ty get the drinks all set up. Ty had Caleb and Rusty bring two of the refrigerators from the barn area and filled them with beer, water and teas. The bar was set up in the house as Clay and Steven offered to handle that. The Weber's, Stillman's, O'Dell's and Masters' all came kid less as several of the youth program kids were watching them at their homes. Sienna joined Hannah, Noah, Nate and Matthew at the Weber's loft home as they had three of the kids to watch over the rambunctious group. They were also close if parental intervention was needed. Amy and the girls again decided to dress up a little and as they gathered, Ty smiled as a proud father. He blushed a little and spoke to them tearily, "You all look so beautiful." Jack and Lisa came up alongside of him and Jack smiled, "They sure do, you guys are something." Lisa with teary eyes, "All of you are stunning." Everyone settled in and after an hour or so the food was set up. Amy and Ty were in compete host mode, mingling among family and friends, never leaving each other's side. Several people watched them and the love that showed in each of the them, not just for each other but everyone they interacted with. Lyndy, who was feeling better, was sitting with Wyatt, Clay, Katie, Georgie and Steven. They all watched the host couple walling around. Georgie laughed, "You know I have been around the longest and have watched those two forever. We sure give them trouble every once in a while but I am always am full of joy when I see them together. Look how he looks at her." Lyndy added, "And look how she looks at him." They all smiled as Mallory and Doug joined them. She laughed, "I sense that you are all gawking at the perfect couple and how they can't get enough of each other." They all laughed as she continued, "Georgie remember when Ty found out he was accepted to vet school. They were screaming and then stopped. Silly Georgie said, I think they stopped celebrating, let's go see them." Georgie jumped in and laughed, "And you said no because they were still celebrating. It took me a while to understand but eventually I got it. They were probably getting it on." As soon as she said it they were startled when they heard Amy speak up, "Who was getting it on?" Everyone giggled nervously as Ty added, "Wait you all were talking about us weren't you?" Georgie gathered herself, "Well remember when you got accepted to vet school Ty? Well Mallory and I heard you two and then you got quiet and.." Amy continued for her, "And she said that we were still celebrating. Do you want the details? So first dad and I kissed and then.." Lyndy put her hand up, "I am still not feeling 100% and your detail of how you celebrated is not what I need to hear." The entire group laughed as JT came running up to his mom, "What's so funny?" The all laughed again as she tickled him relentlessly.
Jack, Lisa, Lou, Scott, Tim and Casey sat watching over the party. Lisa smiled, "Look what you guys have created. The grandkids, great grandkids, great-great grandkids and everyone. Heck I think you can even count Soraya, Caleb and Mallory in the mix. And Ben has been about as close as a son I could ever have. Look at them all, all the love, caring and compassion right in front of us." She put her head down a little teary eyed and Lou put her hand on her shoulder. "Lisa, you are a part of this also, and you two Casey. Even the juvenile delinquent next to me had a part too. I think we all should be proud." They all smiled as Jack spoke up. "But would you look at those two. Look how they are around everyone, talking to everyone being the perfect host. Look how everyone lights up when they come over and how they interact with love and respect. But most of all look at them together. I don't think they ever aren't touching each other and stealing glances and hugs, even a quick kiss every once and a while. You know when Ty came here, like you Scott, I wanted to kick his butt all the way to Montana." Scott laughed, "And I bet you gave him them my granddaughters were off limits speech too," He laughed, "You bet I did, a few times at least. But thank god I let him stay, they are our future. We all play a part but they truly resonate what we are as a family and company. And look at you, Amy and your kids, Lou. They all so poised and confident and would do anything for each other." Jack put his head down to take a breath, "The legacy of their family is as solid as the fireplace back at Heartland where we all have stones, solid to the core." The group all shook their heads silently as Amy and Ty headed their way. Amy hesitated, "Are you guys Ok? Can we join you?" Jack motioned to some seats as they sat down after some hugs and handshakes. Ty spoke up, "So guys really, what's up?" Tim spoke up, "Nothing, Jack was just reminiscing about how he almost kicked your butt to Montana or something, and Scott's too." They laughed as Amy spoke up, after kissing Ty's cheek, "Well I for one along with Lou are happy that never happened." She continued trying to break what seemed to be a little tension, "Well everyone seems to be having fun and the food is great, not too heavy." Everyone smiled but Amy was still not convinced that they hadn't interrupted something important." Jack sensed her concern and took her hand. "Honey, we are all just really happy to see the family that we are a part of is so close and happy. Even the other adopted family are so engaged and happy. When we look around this room we see not only a reflection of us older folks, well less maybe Lou and Scott, but we see you two. We see the future and along with others, it is bright and full of opportunity. I want to thank you two for being the couple that everyone looks to for guidance and love. Amy, we are very proud of you both and I know Marion, Lyndy and Thomas are as well." At this point tears were flowing and finally Lou spoke up, "Grandpa, stop it, this is supposed to be a fun party." Everyone smiled and laughed realizing he was right.
The eighth graders watched as the elder group seemed to be in a deep discussion. Annie smiled and held Jermy's hand and spoke to the others, "It looks like GG is getting emotional and is talking about mom and dad. See how mom is so close to dad, she always gets that way with him, when GG is talking about family." Desi smiled, "Your mom and dad rock. They are like the coolest parents in the world, everyone loves them. Kids are so jealous of the two of you and how lucky you are." Addie blushed, "They are kind of cool and they are always there for us, no matter what it is. Even when they say no it still seems like they love us and are helping us grow up." Camilla was sitting in Troy's lap and spoke up. "You guys, my mom and your mom are so close. She told me they were friends from kindergarten when they got forced to sit next to each other. She said they were both shy but they hit it off right away and never left each other's side. When grandma died the first person she called was her and I heard when your grandma was killed, my mom came home from vacation to be with her." Everyone smiled as she continued, "And she also told me that you dad was so hot and all the girls wanted him. And being a bad boy made it even better. But everyone soon found out that they were destined to be a couple even after the Caleb/Kit thing." Everyone laughed enjoying the conversation. Bella, who had been quiet finally spoke up. "Well I wish I had parents like you guys do, but you guys know that didn't happen. Maya's parents are the best but your mom and dad have always been there for me and have supported me since I started hanging with you guys. I love them so much." They continued to talk about school, friend and family. They were all excited to be together at midnight and were looking forward to their kisses. All of a sudden, Addie blurted out. "Oh my god, I have to show you Lyndy's truck, I forgot all about it." After checking with her dad Addie led the group and headed out through the snow to the shed where the trucks and motorcycle were. She opened the door and the teens eyes went wide open when they say the beautiful green truck. Addie beamed as she opened the hood talking about the engine and all the work they did. Annie smiled as she went on and on about what they did and then bragged about her dad's truck and his Norton. Bella, hopped on the motorcycle and smiled, "I look good on this, I need one of these too." They all laughed as they ogled over the three vintage vehicles. All of a sudden a voice rang out from the doorway, "I hope none of you are scratching my truck. I better not find any scuff marks Addie or you will get it." Wyatt held back his over reacting girlfriend, "Babe, chill. If anything is messed up Addie can fix it for sure." She calmed a bit especially when Desi asked her to start it up. She purred like a kitten and when she revved it the smooth engine sounded perfect. Again both Addie and Lyndy smiled brightly and the rest of them were in awe. Wyatt recommended that they head back as it was after 10:00pm and the dancing had started. They headed over but took a little longer as an all-out snowball fight started, boys vs. girls. Several of the guest noticed the antics of the teens and joined in. After about a half hour each declared themselves as winners and when GG was asked, he said it was a tie. Everyone dried off and went back inside to continue the party and even dance a little. Everyone was having a great time, really enjoying the relaxing evening together with each other. There had been many parties at Heartland and the Miracle Ranch over the years but this one seemed special.
It was about 11:00 and Jack got everyone's attention. "Everyone, before the clock strikes 12 I need a favor from everyone. First, I think we should all thank Amy, Ty and the kids for such a fun night so far." Everyone stopped and applauded the Bordens. He continued, "You know typically everyone decides on a New Year's resolution, like lose weight, stop drinking or in Tim's case, being nicer." Everyone laughed as Tim smiled. "But this year I think we should all think of a New Year's revelation, kind of like something that you realized this year that you haven't told anyone about. It doesn't have to be earth shattering just something that means a lot to you. Now everyone doesn't have to but I will give you some time to think about it and tell you mine." He hesitated as everyone was dead silent waiting for him to divulge his secret. He smiled, "Well I have come to the revelation that I need to step away from my daily responsibilities and focus on retirement, Lisa and the family. So starting this year I will step away from my work and focus on just that. I won't lie, you may see me with those Llamas and maybe at the Rehoming Center but mostly I will be spending time with my granddaughters and their families as well as the rest of you. And Mallory and Caleb before you two say anything I will still keep an eye on both of you." Everyone laughed hesitantly overwhelmed with the announcement. Partial retirement was one thing but the full on commitment was a little bit of a surprise. JT broke the uneasiness and yelled out, "Sweet GG more time for fishing!" As he jumped into his lap Jack said, "Absolutely." Everyone laughed and applauded congratulating him on his revelation. Caleb approached a little shaky, "Jack, I am really happy for you but kind of sad that I won't see you as much. You have been a big influence on me and my life and I owe you big time." Cass leaned into him understanding how much Jack meant to her husband. Of course Mallory broke the emotional moment, "Yea he had to bail you out a lot Caleb but worst of all was when he let you bunk with Ty after Amy finally realized she loved him after using you to get him to love her." Amy rolled her eyes, "Geez Mallory nothing like bringing up the past." Everyone laughed again as Jack looked for others to offer their revelations. He smiled, "So anyone want to tell us what their revelation is?" The crowd was silent when of all people Lou spoke up, "Well mine might not be as big as Grandpa's but I realize that sometimes I take control of things so I am going to chill on that a bit and spend more time with my amazing grandchildren and my husband. So I am officially telling everyone that I will no longer need to oversee everything." A loud mock applause erupted as laughs were included. She smiled, "And I have my protégé Maddie who will take control from here." Maddie gave a thumbs up as everyone laughed again. Others shared their revelations as most of the partygoers were getting into it. Amy and Ty offered theirs together, pledging that since their children were getting older, they would make sure they checked in on them more often. Amy also joked that she wanted to make sure that she spent more time talking to Ty as they were having more time alone, since the kids were so busy. Georgie laughed, "Really more time together, you two are joined at the hip already." Everyone laughed and agreed. As others spoke everyone else was very respectful of their comments and all agreed that Jack had started a new tradition that would be around for a long time.
It was about 20 minutes until midnight and the couples started pairing off. Maddie, Caroline and Gwen felt a little weird so they took JT, Shawna and Trent outside to play in the snow. They promised that just after midnight they would go to bed as they all were really tired. Wyatt continued to notice that Lyndy was quiet and seemed really tired after being a little sick. He walked over to Amy as she had noticed it as well. Amy whispered, "Wyatt, you need to get her to bed right after midnight, she is not looking well. And I know you will kiss no matter what, but don't catch what she has." He smiled and went over to Lyndy whispering in her ear. She fell into his chest smiling and glanced at her mom, mouthing thank you. The eighth grade group were bunched together laughing and dancing away all nervously watching the clock. The young parents also had gathered around ready to their kiss without the need to check on kids. Georgie and Katie were having a great time and were hanging close to their men. Amy and Ty's group was also on the floor whooping it up making sure the younger kids saw they could have fun too. Amy and Ty were going to continue their tradition of starting their kiss a minute before midnight and keep going after. About 10 minutes before the clock struck 12, Wyatt came over to them. "Hey Lyndy, has really turned for the worse, so she is in her bed. I gave her some aspirin and a sports drink to help her keep hydrated. She kind of threw up so if you are Ok I am going to stay with her." Ty smiled, "You do that son and we will check on you a little later. And thank you" He smiled and hurried off to his sick girlfriend. The clock was at three minutes so the couples had joined up for the big moment. Annie came to her mom, "Is Lyndy sick still?" Amy smiled sadly, "Yea, but Wyatt is with her." She smiled, "Mom he will always be with her." The hugged and went back to their men. At 30 seconds the countdown began, except for Amy and Ty who had already began their kiss. The crowd erupted at midnight and the couples kissed and hugged in the New Years. After a few minutes, hugs and kisses were shared by everyone, even the kids, who came in from playing in the snow. Amy and Ty made sure they found each of their kids and hugged them individually reminding them how much they loved them. The Borden kids also made sure they went too Jack, Lisa, Tim and Casey as well, especially giving their GG a longer hug and kiss. As things settled, Amy and Ty snuck up to Lyndy's room to see how she was. They quietly tapped on the door and opened it. Lyndy was in her pajamas and tucked in comfortably in her comforter. She glanced up and smiled whispering happy new year to them. Wyatt was laying on top of the comforter and added his happy new year as well. Amy sat down rubbing her daughter's shoulder. "Happy New year to you guys too. I am sorry you don't feel well but your nurse is kind of cute." She giggled and winced at the same time. She loved her mom and dad so much and felt better just having them with her. She coughed a little and whispered, "He is the best and kind of cute." They said good night and told them it would be a late morning. As Ty and Amy closed the door they fell into each other's arms. Ty whispered, "I love you Amy Borden." She smiled, "Well that's a relief because I really love you Ty Borden." The party cleared out quickly and after checking on everyone reminding them that breakfast was self-serve tomorrow, Amy and Ty headed to bed but not before checking one final time on Lyndy. They tapped lightly on the door again and Amy stuck her headed in. Both of them were sound asleep as Wyatt held her with a thick comforter between them. They headed to their room happy she was resting peacefully. They snuggled together as happy as they ever had been and fell asleep quickly never leaving each other's arms.
The night for all the Bordens was restful although Amy did hear Lyndy make a couple of trips to the rest room and the hushed voices of the two young lovers. She didn't hear her getting sick, so she figured she was just going to the bathroom as Wyatt continued to keep her hydrated. She felt like checking on them but figured Wyatt had it covered. The late morning sun was up as the Borden family were slowly woke up. The plan for New Year's Day was to do absolutely nothing. In fact all of the families had decided that would be the agenda for the day. The Heartland group planned an early dinner but outside of that no big family gathering. Amy rolled over and saw her husband sleeping soundly. She stared at him as he finally rustled a bot and whispered, "Are you staring at me?" She giggled, "You are really cute when you are sleeping, well actually all of the time." Hearing that the house seemed quiet still, Amy slipped on some sweats as she figured venturing out in her panties and T-shirt might not be appropriate. She whispered before she left and raised her eyebrows, "I'll be right back and I think I need a shower." Ty's eyes widened and as she walked out, he sprinted to the bathroom. Amy peeked in Lyndy's room and found her sleeping soundly less Wyatt, who must have went back to his room. She went back to the room and happily heard the water running and her husband humming. She shed her clothes on the way and got in with him. "So did you start without me." He turned and held her close, "Well I know you like the water really hot." She looked into his eyes and kissed him deeply, "Well I am really hot." They played, helping each other scrub up which turned into a little more. Their passion took over as they explored each other under the warm water. Their moans told the other that whatever they were doing was right. Amy moved her hands to his manhood and slowly moved up and down. At the same time Ty moved to her breasts, gently fondling and kissing them. Amy threw her head back in pleasure as he became a little more aggressive. After the water started cooling down the got out and toweled each other off heading to the bed. After a slow and sensual love making session they laid on the backs next to each other recovering. Ty smiled and looked over, "Happy New Year to us." They got dressed and headed downstairs to see if anyone was up. They saw the fireplace lit and Lyndy laying covered up in Wyatt's grasp. Amy smiled, "Hey baby how are you feeling." Lyndy smiled, looking up at Wyatt smiling "I am feeling a lot better thanks to this guy. You both looked refreshed." Realizing that their hair was still wet, Amy blushed trying to change the subject, "It was nice to sleep in and not have anything to worry about today. Have you tried to eat something?" Lyndy giggled, "Whatever and thanks, for hoggin all the hot water. I already warned the others to wait a bit on their showers." Ty looked down, "I may have to look at the hot water heater." They all laughed as planned everyone was just sitting around eating whatever they wanted. The silence was broken when Mallory came through the door without knocking, "Good morning, I guess if my kids want to take a warm shower so I need to get them home." Again everyone laughed some a little more confused about what she meant. JT said goodbye to his friends and joined his mom and dad for some cereal and toast. "Mommy, what was Aunt Mallory talking about with the hot water thing." Annie, Addie and Maddie giggled as Amy answered him, "Well daddy has to look at the hot water heater, it might not be working right." JT shook his head understanding as the girls continued to laugh at his acceptance of the reason. After everyone settled in, Ty and Amy went to the porch to have some coffee. Ty lit one of the portable heaters as the snuggled and got under a big blanket. They sat quietly looking out over the property which looked beautiful with all the snow. Amy leaned up against him and took a deep breath. Ty kissed her forehead and smiled, "So, are you happy with our New Year's shower sex this morning?" She gently slapped his chest, "Well that was nice but no, I was just thinking." He looked down, "Oh, Oh." She smiled and took a second, "Can you believe this. As I look out over the ranch I am overwhelmed with everything we have been able to achieve. We have a great and growing business that includes Llamas now. We have a great family and amazing kids. And I have you." Ty laughed lightly, "I know, it amazes me every day when I look around at everything. Can you believe that when we started our little business that it would turn into all of this?" They both smiled leaning in closer feeling each other's love and warmth. Ty spoke up, "We have so much to look forward to as the kids and the business grows and I am really excited. But with everything we have and will have there is one thing that I am happiest about." He hesitated and turned to look into her deep blue eyes. "I have you." They kissed deeply showing the love they had for the other unaware of anything around them. They leaned back catching their breath smiling and hugging each other tightly. Their lips came close for another kiss. As their lips touched, the front door swung open as Maddie yelled, It's snowman time, come on mom and dad." Amy smiled and whispered in his ear, "What did I say about our wonderful kids." The slowly untangled and got up to put some warmer clothes on as Lyndy took their place to watch. Arm and arm they walked into the house as happy as they could have ever been.
