Here we go chapter fourteen

After Many Dates Danny and Angelica

In the Amity Park police station a green blob of a ghost poked his head intangibly through a wall seeing the police officers going about their business phasing through he flew behind a potted plant in a green flash he came out looking like another beat cop

The 'policeman' walked through the station heading towards the evidence locker he looked around for what he was looking for "come on come on where is it" he said annoyed as he searched through the shelves

It had to be here somewhere

Ah ha

The policeman grinned pulling a sealed canister from a high shelf grinning he changed back into his ghostly form

"You know" a voice said

An irritating voice the ghost turned to see Danny Phantom floating overhead "I don't think that belongs to you"

"Oh you think so" the ghost said with a grin before transforming into a ghostly gorilla throwing a punch that sent Danny crashing through a wall the ghost grinned turning back into his regular form he phased away with his container

Oh sure the brat could follow him

But he'd be too busy dealing with the boys in blue

Danny pulled himself out of the hole in the wall looking around he didn't see any sign of the ghost or that weird container he had stolen what was even in there anyways

"Great could this get any worse" Danny asked

The door to the evidence locker was kicked open as cops came bursting in all of them armed with ecto weapons

'Uh since when did the cops start carrying antighost gear' Danny thought

"Freeze Phantom" one cop shouted before firing his ghost ray at Danny

"Wait I can explain" Danny tried explaining

Danny had to leap up to dodge the police were getting into formation and opening fire

And THEY were alot better shots then his dad was

Phasing away Danny flew up into the air "great now I have to worry about the police coming after me again" Danny complained to the sky "no other superhero has to run from the cops Kim Possible doesn't neither does Supergirl or Invisigirl well maybe Kitty" Danny said getting angry at how cruel people could be to mutants shaking his head Danny continued flying

He didn't see any sign of King Kong all he saw was some weird van seriously it looked like something out of the seventies with the green tye dye paint job and the orange flowers Danny thought the van looked a little out of place but come on no ghost in their right minds would hide in a place like that even the box ghost had more dignity

Seeing there was no sign of the ghost Danny called his friends

"Guys we have a problem" he said "a ghost broke into the police station and stole something from their evidence locker"

"Any idea what" Tucker asked

"No" Danny said flying off "but that's why it pays to have a technogeek on your team"

In what Danny thought was a weird van Fred Jones Junior and Tuckers ex girlfriend Velma watched Danny fly off

"So that's him" Fred asked "Danny Phantom"

Velma frowned "that's him"

Fred looked around it felt so weird being alone in the mystery machine with just Velma this had never happened

"Remind me why we're investigating without the others again Velma" Fred asked Velma huffed

"Because Danny Phantom knows the others faces" Velma said "we have to stop this criminal now before anyone else gets hurt"

Well that made sense plus he was already thinking of all the different ways he could trap a flying ghost who looked like a teenager sure he wasn't actually a ghost he probably just had a jet pack or wires under his costume that made it look like he was flying but still

"So why do you think he was in the police station" Fred asked driving in the direction Danny Phantom had flown Velma pulled out her laptop "I don't know but I'm going to find out"

Danny was walking through Casper High with his friends yawning he was so tired he almost walked into a locker door before Tucker grabbed him by the shoulder stopping him Danny looked from the locker to Tucker "thanks Tuck" Danny said

"No problem dude" Tucker said moving around the locker Danny Sam and Tucker continued walking through the hall towards class

Sam frowned worried for Danny "so you have no idea what was in that canister" she asked

Danny shook his head "no idea" Danny said "and I spent all night looking for the creep who took it and that canister all night"

Danny looked to Tucker "do you think you can get into the police server to find out what was in that canister" he asked Tucker was without a doubt the smartest guy he'd ever met when it comes to technology if anyone could get into the police network and find out what was worth stealing to a ghost it was Tucker Foley

Tucker looked worried for a second "I can but they have a closed network I'd have to be in the station to get into the network" Tucker explained

Danny thought about what Tucker said Sam frowned "Danny the two of you are not doing what I think you're planning" Sam said

Danny shook his head "no Sam we're not going to get arrested" Danny said Sam and Tucker sighed in relief "we're just going to sneak in invisibly and Tucker will do his thing"

Sam and Tucker looked shocked at it well that was slightly better then getting arrested but only slightly

While Danny and his friends were in school a certain pair of ghosts were looking at the canister trying to open the thing

"Why is this thing so hard to open" the green blob said frustrated as he tried to pry the lid of the canister open only to get smacked in the hand

"Careful with that Bertrand" the other ghost reprimanded the ghost was none other then the mistress of misery herself Penelope Spectra "we went through a lot of trouble to get that sample of Scarecrows fear gas"

Bertrand nodded "I know but how are we supposed to use it if we can't open the thing"

They had worked hard to steal the thing for their plans

The last thing that they needed was that halfa freak Danny Phantom figuring out their plans before they could finish

"Your sure there's no evidence that would lead back to us" Spectra asked

Bertrand waved off his employers concerns "of course the police and their antighost weapons think that Phantom was the only ghost there last night"

Sneaking into the police station was honestly easy all Danny and Tucker had to do was wait for a detective to leave his desk unattended to go to the bathroom phasing down Tucker quickly plugged in his PDA downloading all information about the stolen canister erasing Tuckers unauthorized access before unplugging phasing out of the station before the detective could get back

Danny and Tucker flew down landing by a waiting Sam who turned visible "so" Sam asked "what did you find"

Tucker quickly pulled up the information "well the canister is full of-" Tucker stopped gulping looking afraid "the Scarecrows fear gas"

"Scarecrow" Danny asked recognizing the name quickly enough it was one of the big names in Gotham

"Uh why is there fear gas in the evidence locker of Amity Park's police station" Sam asked looking just as freaked out about the idea of anything from Gotham being in Amity Park

Tucker pulled it up "yeah apparently someone tried to use the fear gas to sabotage the Casper High Football team so their team would win" Tucker said "but the guy got caught with it before he could use it"

'Well that's a relief' Danny thought now they just had the problem of finding out what ghost would benefit from using fear gas Danny listed his enemies in his head

Skulker could use it but it would be obvious

Technus hadn't been seen since he had tried to use Plumber gear to of course take over the world

Ember didn't need it to be dangerous

Danny ruled out ghosts like Youngblood Johnny 13 Kitty and the Box Ghost

This could be some kind of over complicated plot from the Fruit Loop but if it was Danny couldn't see

There was only one way ghost he knew who'd benefit from making people live in fear

The only ghost Danny fought who had a green shapeshifting blob on her payroll

"Spectra and Bertrand" Danny exclaimed "who else but those nuts would mess with something from a Gotham villain"

Sam and Tucker nodded in agreement "ok but where are they going to use it"

Tucker scratched his head "well it'd have to be a place full of teenagers" Tucker realized it "I think I figured it out"

The next day at Casper high Danny wasn't in class but it was for a much more important reason

Stopping Spectra and Bertrand from letting fear gas loose in the school Danny was currently floating around the basement trying to look for the two creeps Danny floated through the basement looking for any sign of the two ghosts

Their plan was pretty obvious when you thought about it hook the fear gas to the vents let it loose in the school then Spectra would feed on the fear and misery not an overly complicated plan not like last time with the ghost bugs and the creepy hospital

All he had to do was stop them get the fear gas back and anonymously turn it in to the police easy peezy

Danny felt his ghost sense go off "oh great here they are" Danny said

A glowing green wolf rammed into him "hello again kid" Bertrand said showing off his fangs Danny kicked the ghost wolf off of him the wolf changed back into Bertrand "cheeky little brat"

Danny stood back up "where's Spectra Bertrand" Danny demanded

Bertrand shrugged "sorry that's my business" Bertrand changed again into the gorilla from last night banging his fists he ran at Danny throwing a punch Danny leapt to the side kicking Bertrand in his ape face

'Ok Angelica can never know about this fight' Danny said if she ever found out that gorilla boy nickname she had for him would never die pulling out his fenton thermos Danny opened the lid trapping Spectra's lackey inside of it

"One down" Danny thought before flying off "now one to go"

Danny quickly made it to the furnace room finding Spectra holding the canister of fear gas she was back in her scary body the way she was before the fenton DNA she got from his dads nose

"Hi Danny" she said with a fanged grin "glad you could make it"

Danny frowned his eyes glowing green "I'm going to make it easy on you Spectra give me the gas"

Spectra laughed "what fun would that be not when you can make such a lovely fall guy for my plan"

Danny flew at Spectra throwing a punch Spectra moved quickly dodging the punch Danny quickly turned throwing a kick Danny had to stop his foot before he hit the canister "careful Danny you don't want to cause an accident" she taunted

Spectra fired a blast hitting Danny knocking him into a wall Spectra flew at him kicking Danny in the face sending him sliding across the wall Danny crashed into a wall Danny stood up wiping his face

"Don't you ever quit" Spectra taunted "there's no way for you to beat me"

Danny grinned "I've seen scarier things over the last summer then you Spectra" Danny's eyes glowed icy blue before he threw his arm creating a wave of icy energy Spectra laughed "you missed"

Danny smiled "no I didn't" Danny said Spectra blinked confused Danny rushed at Spectra punching her in the face she dropped the canister of fear gas that might be a problem if it weren't covered in a thick block of ice

Danny pulled out his thermos sucking Spectra inside of it Danny let out a breath of relief 'that was easy' he thought relieved

Now all he had to do was return this to the police station then get back to class

Danny flew through the air the frozen canister of fear gas still in his hands landing in an alleyway Danny's head darted around before he walked towards the station

Too bad he didn't look down if he had he might have seen the trip wire Danny looked down confused a cage dropped down on him trapping him "what the heck" he asked

"We caught him" a girl with glasses and a big blonde guy in a- Danny blinked an orange ascot

Why was he dressed like he was from the seventies

And oh yeah who drops a cage on someone "we caught you now Phantom"

"Ok I'll bite who are you and why did you put me in a cage" Danny asked Danny looked around seriously did they think they could hold him in a cage there was no ghost shield no blood blossoms nothing that looked magical

Heck it didn't even look electrified

"We caught you to end your reign of terror" the girl said

"And to get back your stash of stolen money" the blonde added

Danny blinked confused "my reign of what" he asked confused "my stash of what"

Seriously who were these people and why were they here

Police Officers no doubt hearing you know the giant cage come down stepped outside including that red haired cop from last night "what in sam hills going on" he asked "who are you kids"

"And why is Danny Phantom in a cage" another asked

"Oh I'm Fred Jones Jr and this is Velma Dinkely we're from Crystal Cove" the big guy answered

Wait did they say Crystal Cove and Velma

As in Tuckers perfect match from the dating service Velma

The girl in the glasses Velma Danny corrected in his head walked over "it's simple officers we've caught the criminal that's been terrorizing your city for a year Danny Phantom"

Again with the terrorizing where was this girl getting her facts Will Harrangue

"Danny Phantom has been pretending to be a ghost all to hide his illicit activities of stealing no doubt you've noticed a surge in unexplained thefts in your city" Velma went on to say to the cops "and he's responsible for that along with attacking the mayor of Amity Park and who knows what other crimes his 'ghost' underlings have committed"

Wait was she seriously calling him some kind of ghost mob boss

With like next to no proof too

"And now we'll find out who he really is" Fred said Velma reached into the cage holding onto Dannys face and began to pull "hey ow quit it" Danny complained as she kept pulling Velma frowned "he should be wearing a mask"

Danny slapped Velmas hands away frustrated "why would I be wearing a mask" he asked frustrated

"Ok you're not wearing a mask but your pretending to be a ghost using advanced technology hidden in your costume" Velma declared Danny looked down at his costume

"Uh where" he asked his suit wasn't skin tight but there wasn't a lot of room for pockets either

"Flight propulsion in your boots" Velma said as if it were obvious wow this girl was just really annoying and rude did she talk like this to Tucker

If she did Danny was kind of doubting how effective that dating service was

At least for Tucker

Danny pulled off his boots "nope just boots"

"Then you're using electrophase shifting with nano optics for invisibility in your shirt" Danny pulled down his costume showing off his bare chest showing off the inside

"For the record I have a girlfriend and am not doing any more" Danny said Velma was about to open her mouth when Danny

After quickly putting his costume back on phased out of the cage ignoring Velma and the slack jawed look on her face

Danny walked over to the cop handing over the frozen canister he then held his arms out for Officer Danny looked at the name tag O'Shaughnessey "look officer I wasn't responsible for stealing this last night another ghost did"

"The fear gas" Velma shouted "he stole that from the police station last night"

Wait how did they know that

The officer took the gas "it's quite all right Phantom we weren't placing charges for last night or your other charges" officer O'Shaughnessey said

Danny blinked they weren't "you're not" he asked

Officer O'Shaughnessey shook his head "we've looked over the security footage seems that other ghost didn't think to check for cameras" he explained "and forensics have looked over your other charges we know all about Freakshow and his 'magic' staff and Mayor Montez was clearly holding onto you not the other way around"

"Preening peacock" one cop muttered

"Uh actually he was overshadowed by a ghost" Danny explained

Officer O'Shaughnessey nodded "we'll look into that as well" the red haired cop then turned to Velma and Fred "however for you two how did you know that fear gas was stolen from the police station last night"

"Oh because Velma hacked your system and found out" Fred explained dumbly

"FRED" Velma shouted two officers walked over gently escorting the two towards the station

Officer O'Shaughnessey looked to Danny "would you care to press charges for the cage and the false accusations" he asked Danny shook his head

"No I'm good" he said flying off "I'd like to stay but I got uh a meeting with uh Superman" Danny said "yeah that's it" lamely flying off he was going to be in so much trouble for missing first and second period

Hopefully Lancer bought the excuse Sam and Tucker told him that he had food poisoning and would be late to school today

He had to have some good luck after the police let him go and he beat Spectra

Right

And that's the chapter Danny beat Spectra (not Vondergeiss)

Fred and Velma got into some trouble

And Danny's criminal record got cleared by something rarely seen in superhero shows outside of Batman
