Chapter 4
I held my head up high and the plan in my heart. I walked toward Casita. A storm grew over head. I ignored it and walked forward. The house was dark and almost moldy looking. The flowers were replaced with vines and thorns. Cracks all over the house. It was the vision.
So I wouldn't be detected, I walked toward one of the cracks of the house, big enough for me to squeeze through. I was in the walls of the house. I walked forward in the dark, bumping into a wall or two. Soon I bumped into something.. fleshy? It fell over with a yelp.
"Bruno?! What are you doing here?!" I hissed through the darkness.
"Well I was walking around, hoping to find you, till I wandered here. I know we are in Casita." He stuttered. I pulled him up.
"You shouldn't be here."
"Neither should you." He told me. He shook with fear in the dark. I placed my hand on his shoulder. He slowed a bit.
"I have a plan." I spoke, quietly. "And I may need your help."
His blind eyes lit up, as I whispered the plan in his ear.
"You can't be serious?!" He hissed.
"It will work, I know it will!" I hissed back. I walked past him and down the dusty corridor.
"Wait.." Bruno said, suddenly. I turned back, still walking forward. I rolled my eyes and turned forward.
"WATCH OUT!" He cried. He pulled me back and backed up. I stared at what was in front of me.
A pit of spikes. Perfect.
I look back at Bruno, who was hyperventilating. I noticed a greenish hue in Bruno's eyes. I grabbed the sides of his face and had him face me.
"How did you see that?!" I nearly cried out. He shrugged, still gasping for breath.
"I.. I don't know.." he gasped. "One moment your walking away and the next.., I think I saw the future.."
That would explain the green hue. His eyes basically glowed in the dark. I let go of his face and hugged him. He jumped, then embraced me back.
"Thank you." I whispered.
"Your my mother, what would the family and I do without you?" He chuckled. I pulled away and stood tall.
"Now, lets find Mirabel."
