CrazyHeartAttack: Well, Jotaro kind of took it's place. Plus, having the World AU running around could mean an untimely death for Diego, and I really want to keep him around.
Coolk: Unfortunately, I don't have Discord. But you can send me ideas through the reviews, I don't mind. Ball Breaker also utilizes the Infinite Rotation, so it can probably do everything that Tusk can do. As for Kyoka and the swimsuit...I think she would honestly faint, she would lose too much blood.
Coco Jumbo: All I can say is have patience my friend. They haven't fully come out of their shells yet, and I don't want to rush their relationship. Romance is neither of their top priorities, but I am planning on them getting together eventually.
PhantomKnightPercival: Alright, I might just make it a thing. And yes, Valentine truly didn't leave Johnny a choice, but I'm still not sure if that's going to cause a rift with Izuku or not.
...
To say that Kyoka was excited would be an understatement.
When she heard the news that Johnny and Gyro won their match against Jotaro, she was over the moon. Not only was Johnny coming back to class, but Gyro was going to be joining him. Honestly, things couldn't have turned out better.
Kyoka quickly pulled out her phone and texted the both of them.
Living Headphones: Hey, do you guys want to do something to celebrate?
Horseshoe: Can't, I need to catch up with my dad.
Meatball: That's great! You two really need some father/son bonding time.
Living Headphones: Darn, I was hoping the three of us could hang out one more time before moving into the dorms.
Meatball: I'm game Jiro.
Horseshoe: Good, you two can go celebrate, and me and my dad can bond over shared trauma. Also, can you believe we're going to be living together?
Meatball: Johnny, I've been living with you for months. I've seen you naked you know.
Horseshoe: Why are you flexing that?
Kyoka turned red as a few NSFW images popped into her head.
STOP IT!
Living Headphones: That is something I don't need to know Gyro.
Meatball: You sure?
I'm going to kill him, Gyro Zeppeli...you will not live to see tomorrow.
Horseshoe: Somebody please change the subject, that's all I'm asking.
Meatball: You have a fat ass Johnny.
Horseshoe: Dude.
Living Headphones: I don't like reading this.
Meatball: Big and cushy.
Horseshoe: GYRO.
Kyoka sat down and out her head between her hands. Gyro knew what he was doing, the asshole. When she got her hands on him...
Kyoka sighed. She knew that Gyro was just teasing, but honestly he was just making her think about her problem even more. She really liked Johnny, a lot, but she had to push those feelings aside. Not only because it would distract her from hero work, but because it was a fantasy, something that would only bring her pain when she thought about it. The likelihood of being with Johnny was slim to none, and truthfully, she wasn't big on the whole "he is my world" thing, because Johnny wasn't.
She was content with being his friend. He became a big part of her life, sure, he was the first person who made her believe in herself, but she couldn't just let him carry her. She was just as much of a hero as he was, she could stand on her own.
Isn't that what Johnny wanted for her anyway? To be independent? To be a hero in her own right? His encouragement made her more independent, and that independence is why she is so grateful to him. If they had never met, she would have gone on to be reliant on her classmates, and no one would have ever taken her seriously.
Now, she already had a few achievements under her belt. She defeated a serial killer, all by herself, she fought her way through the I-Island incident, and she successfully freed Johnny from his mother's shadow, returning the favor for the USJ.
He was an inspiration for her, but she would be a hero for herself.
...
Kyoka marched toward Gyro and jabbed him in the ribs.
"OW! What was that for?!"
"For teasing me like that, idiot. You knew what you were doing."
"I was just letting you know what you would be missing out on!" Gyro winked, earning another jab from an earphone jack. "EEEEEEEE!"
"Just shut up, okay?" Kyoka didn't sound amused.
The two were heading towards an ice cream place to get milkshakes, Kyoka's treat despite Gyro's protestations.
"Hey, I just realized, you're the only one in our friend group who doesn't have a nickname. Mine is Meatball, Johnny's is JoJo, Midoryia has Deku...what kind of nickname should we give you?"
"Do I need one?"
"Kyo?"
"Ew no. That's my dad's nickname."
"JoJo was Johnny's dad's nickname too."
"His family is full of JoJos, that's different."
"KyoKyo."
"No."
"KyoKyo's biza-"
"NO."
Gyro chuckled as Kyoka glared at him. "Just messing with you."
The two got in line, and the first thing Kyoka noticed was a familiar head of spiky blonde hair two people ahead of them.
"Bakugo?"
Said teen turned to them, nodded in recognition, and turned back to his phone. Kyoka frowned, Bakugo seemed a little down, which isn't a surprise considering he was kidnapped about a week ago. Not to mention that he was in close proximity to All Might's final fight.
Anyone, even the blonde bomber, would be changed by something like that. Honestly, Kyoka was sort of glad she was unconscious for most of that, although when she found out Johnny was involved she almost killed him.
Not that Johnny wasn't experienced in handling nigh invincible foes or anything, more so because he willingly put himself at risk just after he got done with Valentine. Still, the fact that Johnny decided to go along with the rescue, despite how Bakugo treated him on I-Island...really spoke volumes about who Johnny was.
Then there was Gyro. He took care of Johnny when she couldn't, in many ways he had become a brother to the two of them. Honestly, Kyoka couldn't help but admire the Italian's dedication and loyalty, and even if he constantly teased her about her feelings for Johnny, she would be lying if she said she didn't appreciate his company. She trusted Gyro with her life.
Midoryia...he had begun to drift away from the group. It wasn't like they weren't friends anymore, far from it, it's just that he had begun to hang out with other people a little bit more. It was probably for the better, since the guy was pretty glued to Johnny up until that point. It was good that he was branching out. He had grown quite close with Iida and Uraraka, and...Todoroki for some reason.
"So...question. Is Yaomomo free?"
Kyoka raised an eyebrow at the Italian, who looked surprisingly bashful. "You have a thing for Yaomomo?"
"Well...yeah. Wouldn't it be cool? Two best friends with two best friends?"
"You're assuming that me and Johnny are going to be a thing again."
Gyro sighed. "You're a smart girl Jiro, but you're blind as hell."
Kyoka frowned. What did Gyro see that she didn't?
"Well...to answer your question, yeah, she's free, but she's a pretty tough nut to crack. She's practically immune to flirting and shit, she's pretty much the boss, y'know?"
"Well we'll see how those walls will hold up against the ol' Zeppeli charm, won't we?"
"Charm? Please, you couldn't charm a toad."
"Oi, I'll have you know, I used to be a real hit with the ladies back in Italy."
"Yeah, and I'm the queen of England."
...
Kyoka and Gyro walked down the street. They had just finished their milkshakes and were heading home. Gyro was staying with the Kujos until they moved into the dorms.
"So, Johnny's sister can turn into string, his dad can stop time, his uncle can fix anything...man, the Joestar family is really diverse."
"I'm surprised you aren't trying to flirt with Jolyne."
"Hey, never go after your best friend's sister, that's breaking the bro code."
"And talking about his ass isn't?"
"Touché."
Kyoka and Gyro came up to a bunch of outhouses. "Alright, I have to take a shit, wait for me okay?"
"I don't know, maybe I should push it over."
"Nyo ho, you wouldn't."
Gyro entered the outhouse, and a loud grunt was heard.
Kyoka sat on a bench, patiently waiting for her friend to finish.
"Hey Jiro! I think there's a tooth in here!"
"Dude, shut up!" Kyoka said, annoyed with his antics.
"Excuse me, that looked like Gyro Zeppeli, is Johnny Kujo here with him?" A woman wearing a hoodie approached Kyoka. "I need to speak to him."
Kyoka's heart stopped. She recognized that voice...
"Oh God...you took the wrong son..."
"No, he isn't here, but I'd highly doubt he'd want to talk to you."
The woman lifted her head, revealing Susan Cujoh's face underneath the hood. "You recognized me...listen, it's all a big misunderstanding, I lov-"
"Quit the bullshit bitch. I know more about it than the public does, he's one of my best friends. I know what you said to him."
Susan's face morphed into a cold glare. "So, you're one of his friends...listen, I just want to settle things with my son."
"And I'm not going to let you get anywhere near him."
Kyoka stood up, and she and Susan were nose to nose in a vicious stand off. "'God took the wrong son?' How heartless do you have to be? He is one of the kindest, bravest, and loyal people I have ever met, and he deserved so much better than you...get out of my sight Susan, or I'll kick your ass so hard, they'll have to pull my foot out of it at the hospital."
Susan met her glare with one of her own. "Why don't you mind your own business? This is a family matter."
The tension between the two women was starting to get heated. "JoJo...means A LOT to me, and you hurt him. I'm not letting you anywhere near him, not while I'm around."
Susan continued to give Kyoka an icy glare. "Is that any way to speak to an adult?"
"Is that any way to speak to your son?" Kyoka countered. She was just inches away from punching Susan in the face.
Susan's face morphed into a malicious grin. If there was one thing she was good at, it was that she always knew the right thing to say to get under someone's skin.
"Huh, it seems on top of everything else...my son also has low standards."
Well, Kyoka took that like a punch to the gut.
Sh-sh-shit. No, d-don't give this monster the satisfaction...
Kyoka fell silent, refusing to budge. Susan had hit the nail on the head, she had used the kryptonite, but Kyoka refused to let Susan see her break down.
So, she used those negative emotions, and she found an outlet: punching Susan in the stomach.
Susan doubled over, but before she could get back up, she was shoulder-checked by a very pissed off Italian. She fell to the ground as Gyro began kicking her, with Kyoka joining in.
As the two began assaulting her with their boots, Katsuki Bakugo exited the ice cream shop, and took notice of the disturbance. He sighed and took a sip of his milkshake...
And then he fucking joined in.
Unbeknownst to the three of them, Jotaro was walking by, having left Johnny to go to the bathroom, and now he was recording the whole thing. Now the responsible thing to do would be to break it up, but that woman attacked his family, he was getting this on video.
The group separated and Gyro immediately pulled Kyoka into a hug. "Don't listen to her, it's okay...she's full of shit." He rubbed Kyoka's back. "I'm fine Gyro."
"No you aren't, I can tell..."
Gyro turned to a beaten and bloody Susan with a hateful glare. "Congratulations, you've successfully hurt the two people I care about most. If I ever see you around here again...nothing will stop me from killing you."
Bakugo spat on her. "Fucking bitch. Liars piss me off..."
"Why did you help Bakugo? Usually-"
"Look...JoJo was there when I got kidnapped, and he wasn't even a fucking student. Now he and I are even, got it?!"
Or you actually care about Johnny...
Susan weakly raised her head. "J-Jotaro..."
The three turned to see that Jotaro had walked up to them, a strangely calm expression on his face. Susan picked herself up, and staggered over to her ex-husband, reaching out for his face. "Jotaro...please..."
Jotaro simply straightened his hat, and proceeded to punch her in the face as hard as he could. Blood flew from Susan's mouth as she fell to the ground.
"Yare yare daze...I should have done that a long time ago..." Jotaro casually walked back to his son as Susan began sobbing. "Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be spending time with MY son. Oh, and you three, best not to mention this to Aizawa...he might give you detention."
Kyoka could only stare in shock, before she looked towards Susan. She was giving Kyoka a hateful glare through her tears. "You'll pay for this...you ugly little bitch. You and Johnny both...I'll get you both, I'll rip those fucking spaghetti noodles off, I swear-"
"Just shut up. I think we've already said enough." Kyoka responded. "I know damn well that I don't have a chance with Johnny...but he doesn't have low standards. He doesn't give a damn about looks. You can insult me all you like...but I won't tolerate you taking pot shots at my friends...if I ever see you again, I'll give you a beating ten times worse."
Kyoka turned to walk away. "Hey." Kyoka turned to see Gyro giving her a concerned look. "Are you okay? Do you need anything? I can call Johnny over if-"
"It's fine Gyro...really. I'll admit, it really stung...but she said all those horrible things about Johnny that weren't true, why the hell should I take her seriously?"
Gyro looked at his phone. "Johnny just texted, he's wondering why his dad had left in such a hurry."
"Just tell him what happened, but leave out the part were she insulted me. The last thing I wanna do is ruin today for him."
"Alright...are you sure you're okay Jiro?"
"Yeah...it isn't like this is the first time someone's said something like that to me."
"Right, bullied. Listen, if you're ever feeling bad, you can come to me, I'll be there to help. I...never really had any friends before the Steel Ball Run you know...in many ways you're just as much of my best friend as Johnny is."
Kyoka gave Gyro a soft smile. "Eh, you've grown on me a bit. Also, just call me Kyoka."
"Alright."
Kyoka and Gyro walked together the whole way home, their bond strengthened by beating the shit out of their mutual best friend's abusive mother. Truly, Kyoka did feel better, because she knew that she had people like Johnny and Gyro to fall back on. She wouldn't be discouraged, even if she didn't like the way she looked, even if she would never tell Johnny how she really felt...
Kyoka Jiro was in it for the long haul now. She was going to be a hero, a great hero, one that would put smiles on the faces of those who desperately needed it, and nothing was going to stand in her way.
*Now, you might be asking: Is Susan going to follow up on her threat? Are you foreshadowing a future confrontation between the two women? The answer is yes. Am I going to say anything more? No.*
