Planet express owned Bender. Almost everyone knew that. That didn't stop a simple signature of another person though.
"You want to... buy Bender?" The croaky voice of an elder man asked.
The person hidden in the shadows gave a nod and then spoke, "yes, I do"
The elderly man thought over for a few minutes, he sighed, "why?" It was the most important question to ask. The man speaks again, "I'm part of momcorps maintenance team, all robots are required to come back for inspection" The elder gives another sigh, he hands a piece of paper over and the man signs it.
Benders rights were fully exchanged to a stranger.
It was the wrong decision.
Meanwhile, Bender was sitting on the couch with Fry, watching "All My Circuits". Leela came in with the drinks, some Slurm and whiskey of course. She puts them on the table and sits on the opposite side of the two boyfriends.
"Hey boys" She says softly and Fry nods towards her. Bender giving a sound of jealously. "Oh, Bender" Fry says with chuckle and gives a peck to the robot. The bending unit rolls his eyes in response. The other knew he loved it though.
Bender gets up, he stretches a bit, letting his mechanical nonexistent veins pop. "I'm going out for a bit" He raises a hand as a wave sort of thing and Leela nods.
"Don't be gone for too long, baby" Fry says softly.
"I won't, you don't have to worry about me, meatbag" Bender says sarcastically. "It's not like anyone can do anything" he laughs as he walks out the planet express building.
Little did he know, he would be completely wrong.
As Bender walked down the streets of New New York. He whistled, he grabs a cigar out of his door and lights it with his finger. He blows some smoke into the air and laughs.
A wearing casual clothing raised an eyebrow, "...hm..."
This was the right robot wasn't it? He took a sneak peak at the blueprints he had and nodded. Exactly the same.
He gets up and walks over to the unit. His action making Bender stop in his tracks. "Oh boy, another meatbag" The robot rolls his eyes, "the hell do you want?"
"Hello, Bender Bending Rodriguez" The man starts. The bending units optics widened, this man knew his full name? "I need you to come with me" He starts to walk away. Bender was left to process everything for a few minutes but he then ran after that man, "H-hey! Wait up, idiot!"
Bender followed the man with newfound determination. He was desperate for answers and he would get them. However, the way the man was going was getting more creepier.
By the time Bender gave up, it was dark, no lights were on in anyone's houses, not even the lampposts were lit up. The robot could luckily see in the dark, so he was good to keep going. However, the more Bender continued on, the more the area became eery.
It was a hour or two till he gave up, but Bender didn't know where he was. His antenna signal was lost meaning he couldn't contact anyone, nor navigate his way back to the main street.
He made sure to be extra weary, this place was sketchy and he had to be defensive. He slowly started to walk backwards, turning around but it was too late.
The robot screams. It all fades to black.
Back at Planet Express, a few days had passed and each day was becoming more alarming.
"Has anyone seen Bender anywhere?" Fry had asked. He was worried about his robot boyfriend as Bender has usually never left without saying at least a rude remark or a snarky comment.
The crew thought it over for a moment. Amy shakes her head, "actually, no I haven't, he's been gone for three days or so" She says.
Leela gives Fry a pat on his shoulder, "He's probably sick or skipping work for the week" She explains.
It doesn't solve Fry's frustration. He sits down on the couch and turns the TV on, trying to forget about Bender for the meantime.
His yellow optics brightening, opening his eyes and groaning, Bender looked around confused.
What happened?
He was in some kind of room. It was all white the floor was wooden, it had no windows.
The robot was sitting on a bed, a table text to him with paper, crayons, coloring books, a radio and little robot figurines. Strange.
Bender sat up with his legs dangling off the bed. He sighs softly.
Where was he?
The bending robot tensed up, optics widening as he heard footsteps, some locks being opened and the squeal of a door.
It was the same man that Bender saw. The same man that was in casual clothing that asked the robot to follow him. Anger built up inside Bender as he growls, "where the hell am I!? Who are you!? What do you want from me!?"
The man responds calmly, "you're somewhere no one will be able to find you"
Bender glares at the man, his hands bundle into fists of pure rage. As the man keeps talking about something Bender couldn't quite understand, something to do with his code maybe?, Bender created a path of attack.
When the time came, Bender took it, he launched off the bed and hit the man with full force, which left a bloody red and purple bruise on the man's cheek. As the man was distracted by it, he ran over to the door. He pulled the knob as hard as he could but it didn't turn. He tried bending the door but nothing worked. Bender couldn't get out.
"Heh, I knew you'd try something like that, that's why I disabled all your functions and chances of escape" The man says, laughing like a sicko.
Benders anger just grew bigger, "you..." the robot was shaking, "you asshole..."
The man rolls his eyes and grabs Bender wrists which the robot tries to yank away. It was no good. All functions of his were disabled. That meant he wasn't as strong anymore. The man throws Bender back on the bed with full force.
Bender yelping at the sudden action, "you can't do this! I'm not some fucking pet!" He yells at the guy, he was more than mad at this point. The gears in his head whirring faster, trying to cool his sensors down.
"Technically, you are" The man had them said and got out a piece of paper, showing Bender the paperwork. Bender read it carefully, still absolutely enraged.
"Bending Unit License Agreement"
"You are assigned to take care of the bending unit. The bending unit will bend things for you, do what you ask, and will obey your rules. The unit is not allowed to use any of its other functions against you. In doing so, the bending unit will be reported to MOM. The unit is now your property. Do not modify the unit, doing so will also be reported."
"Sign here: Hubert J. Farnsworth Owen E. Alexander"
Bender couldn't believe it. Farnsworth gave him away? He wasn't some object! He was a sentient being! A machine with feelings! Not a toy to play with.
But here he was, this "Owen" was now his owner and he hated that fact. Bender just growls at the human, "doesn't mean I have to fucking listen to you, meatbag. I'm never gonna-"
Owen cut him off, "you will not backtalk me"
His voice was spine chilling and it made Bender so angry.
"There will be rules to follow, we will go over them tomorrow, for now, you get some rest"
And with that, Owen left, locking the room up.
