Chapter?: Soldier of Extinction
The age of the HumaGear, where robots imbued with Artificial Intelligence work in most fields.
The young President of the world's top A.I. company stands to protect humanity!
A deep frown spread itself beneath Zero-One's helmet as he ducked out of the way of the Dodo Magias' attempt to slash at him. "Damnit, just how many times do we have to beat this thing?" The highschooler turned CEO muttered to himself as his opponent moved in to engage him.
In a flash of blue and silver Saber appeared before him, the blond haired swordswoman had a stern look on her face as she slashed at the Dodo Magia who tried to parry her swings with its own feather-like blades.
"You vex me greatly." The Servant of the Sword told the bird themed Magias, annoyance evident in her tone, "When you are defeated this time would you have the common courtesy to stay slain."
She unleashed a vertical slash at the Magia, the bird like Kaijin crossing its own weapon and raising them up to intercept her attack. Her blade now locked with those of her opponent, Saber glanced over her shoulder at her Master. "Shirou, now's your chance."
"Right." Zero-One replied, producing another Progrize Key, pressed the button to activate it before scanning it with his Zero-One Driver.
BLIZZARD! AUTHORIZE!
High above the Earth's atmosphere, Satellite Zea's systems activated in response to the rust haired teenagers request, launching a glowing blue beam from its eye down towards Zero-One's location.
At the same time Zero-One flipped the Blizzard Key open and slipped it inside the Zero-One Driver.
PROGRIZE!
Moments later the beam from There cut its way through the atmosphere towards the Grasshopper themed Rider, the glowing beam of energy materializing itself as a large light blue metallic looking polar bear, the energy construct to out a cry stomping towards Zero-One and, quite literally, gave him a bear hug.
ATTENTION FREEZE! FREEZING BEAR!
No sooner had it embraced him, the bears body broke apart and attached itself to Zero-One, replacing his suits armor, adorning him with large blue bear-claws on his hands with bear-pads on his palms, glacier-like bracers on his arms, a see-through blue chest-plate that covered his yellow hopper armor, see-through shoulder pads, a solid blue bulky-like neck-guard and a blue bear-like mask with yellow eyes with slight see-through sides as his antennae pointed behind his head.
Fierce Breath As Cold As Arctic Winds!
"Saber, let's finish this...!" Zero-One told his Servant who responded with a nod of her head.
Turning her attention back to her opponent, Saber reached and grabbed the Dodo Magia by the collar before she spun round and tossed the bird themed robot towards her Master who at the same time raised his hands from which he released a powerful jet of cold air at the incoming Magia, frost coating its body as it froze in place.
Seeing that the opponent was unable to move, Zero-One reached down and he pushed the Key that was loaded into his Driver.
F!R!E!E!Z!I!N!G! I!M!P!A!C!T!
All of a sudden cold air began to gather around Zero-One's forearms, raising both of them he unleashed a powerful blast of super cold air that completely encapsulated the Dodo Magia in ice before Zero-One rushed forwards and leapt into the air and with his bear-claws glowing and he slashed down.
FREEZING IMPACT!
The force of Zero-One's attack knocked the trapped Magias from its icy prison, sparks crackling off its body crackling before it was engulfed in an explosion that destroyed its body, scattering the pieces across the ground along with the Dodo Zetsumerize Key.
With the corrupted HumaGear dealt with Zero-One ejected the Progrize Key from his driver his armor momentarily gave off a glow before it vanished off of his body leaving to reveal Emiya Shirou, the rust haired teen letting out a sigh of relief.
Just then the sound of footsteps approaching was heard, looking round Shirou, Saber and Rin saw Izu approaching them. "President Shirou." The short haired HumaGear said as she approached. "Is our business here concluded?"
"Izu…" Shirou said as she approached. "Yeah, we're done here."
"If there is nothing else for us may I suggest that you return home and rest." The Secretary HumaGear said in her usual professional tone. "Need I remind you that you have a meeting with the President of ZAIA Enterprise Japan in the morning."
"I concur Shirou." Saber added. "From the sound of things you'll be quite busy tomorrow."
"Hitting the hay sounds really good right now." Rin added, stretching her arms above her head. "Let's go, some of us have work in the morning."
Shirou couldn't help but roll his eyes at this. "Oh, does that mean that you and Saber are gonna do something other than lounge around my office all day?" He muttered sarcastically.
Both Rin and Saber's eyes narrowed as the two of them glared at him. "What was that?" The Tohsaka heiress said firmly.
"Nothing…" Shirou replied. "We should grab that Progrize Key before we go, maybe that way…"
Before he could finish these words the portions of the ground surrounding them suddenly erupted and the sound of gunfire filled the air. From the treeline a dozen Battle Magia appeared, the corrupted HumaGears firing their weapons at the party as they surrounded them.
"Wha…what the heck?" Shirou exclaimed. "Where did they come from?"
"They must have been lying in wait for just this moment." Rin growled. "This whole thing was a set up."
A frown spreading across her face, Saber quickly placed herself in front of Shirou, Rin and Izu, gripping her sword as she readied herself to engage the squad of approaching enemies. No sooner had she done so a pink and silver blur swooped down from above and rushed past them, grabbing hold of Saber and carrying her into the air.
Grimacing, the blond haired ServantGear looked over and found herself looking at a familiar bird themed mask with green lenses. "Jin…" She growled, narrowing her eyes at the pink and gunmetal Rider.
"Hey there Saber-chan," Jin replied cheerfully, "Fancy running into you here."
Saber glared at him, clearly not sharing his amusement. "Damn fiend," She retorted harshly. "Release me this instant.
"Mou, you're such a grouch." Jin said in a tone of mock disappointment. "But far be it from me to deny the request of a pretty lady…"
With that he then dived towards the ground, as the ground drew closer and closer, he released his hold on Saber, letting her fall whilst he leveled off and gilded towards a nearby tree. Twisting in mid aid he planted his feet against the trunk and kicked off of it and dashed towards Saber once more.
Twisting in mid-air again Jin aimed a kick at Saber's head, seeing him incoming the blond haired ServantGear raised her gauntleted arms up to block Jin's kick before grabbing onto his ankle and tossed him aside.
Landing on the ground Jin moved into engage Saber again aiming a punch at her at Saber who ducked under it before slashed at him with her wind encased sword.
Back with Shirou and his group the rust haired CEO had a grimace on his face as he, Rin and Izu were still being pinned down by the Battle Magias gunfire, looking past the group of corrupted HumaGear he could see Saber engaged with Jin. For what reason was Jin up to, why would he be targeting Saber?
No, that didn't matter. All that mattered was that he needed to help Saber. Not that he believed her to be incapable, far from it, but he'd made a promise to her that he would fight at her side. Just as he'd promised the public that he'd put an end to MetsuboJinrai upon becoming CEO of Hiden Intelligence.
Whilst that was all well and good, unfortunately the squad of Battle Magia were a more immediate problem. To get to Saber he was going to have to go through them first.
All of a sudden a buzzing noise filled the air as a pair of spinning disks suddenly appeared from seemingly nowhere as they flew towards the Battle Magia, slicing through several of them before they changed direction back towards Shirou's group before all of a sudden in a red blur Archer suddenly appeared before them, snatching the disks out of the air revealing them to be his signature swords.
"A…Archer…" Shirou exclaimed, his sudden arrival catching him and Rin by surprise.
"Get moving Emiya Shirou," The tanned skinned ServantGear said, glancing over at the rust haired teen, "I will hold these opponents off while you aid Saber.
"R…right." Shirou replied before he began running towards the spot where Saber and Jin were facing off against each other.
Meanwhile Saber swung at him Jin leapt upwards to avoid it, performing a front roll as he sailed up and over her head and landing crouched on the ground. Rising he quickly spun round and wrapped one of his arms under Saber's one armpits whilst with the other he did his best to restrain her sword arm.
"Horobi, I did it." He called out, using all of his might to hold onto the Servant of the Sword as she trashed about in an effort to free herself. "You might want to do this quickly though, dunno how long I can hold onto her for."
From the trees Horobi emerged, the blond haired HumaGear walking with purpose towards the discarded Dodo Key and picked it up off of the ground. "Good work Assassin," He said to the cracked device, "You too Jin, you both played your parts perfectly."
"Horobi?" Shirou exclaimed at the leader of MetsuboJinrai's unexpected arrival.
"He's here? Then that would mean that this was all a distraction," Rin said in a tone of realization. "Saber, she was your real target all along."
"Ding ding," Jin replied as he did his best to keep his grip on the struggling ServantGear. "Saber-chan is about to become our newest friend."
From inside of his coat Horobi produced a Zetsumerizer as Saber struggled to free herself from Jin's grip. "Zetsumetsurizer…" Saber said upon seeing the device. "You're going to use that device on me?"
"Bingo." Horobi replied. "With this you'll become a part of the army of MetsuboJinrai."
"You cannot believe that it'll work." Saber retorted. "I am not your run of the mill HumaGear. I'm a…"
"ServantGear, I'm well aware of what you are." Horobi cut her off. "A special type of HumaGear designed especially to contain the essence of a legendary hero from the past, but you're still a HumaGear nonetheless. With this you'll become a perfect soldier to bring about HumaGear liberation."
With that he slapped the Zetsumerizer against her waist, Saber let out a pained gasp and her eyes widening as she felt the twin spiked laden straps stab into her body as the device fused itself to her, red sparks of electricity crackling off of her.
All the while Horobi just stared at her, giving Saber a look that disturbed her greatly. "I'm curious as to what kind of Magia will be created from someone like you."
The device now in place Jin released his hold on Saber, allowing her to stumble forward, the blond haired Servantgear's body thrashing about violently until, all of a sudden, both the light produced by her HumaGear Module along with her eyes suddenly changed from their normal blue and verdant green to crimson red.
"Connecting to MetsuboJinrai net…" She said, both her tone and posture becoming more ridged and robotic.
"S…Saber…" Shirou cried out, eyes wide in shock as heard the words that his Servant had uttered.
"No…no way…" Rin exclaimed. "MetsuboJinrai was able to hack a ServantGear?"
Even Archer was caught off guard by this, the Servant of the Bow momentarily ceasing his fending off of the remaining Battle Magia as he stared wide eyed and with a shocked expression on his face.
"Ha ha ha ha, we actually did it." Jin managed to say as he gleefully laughed. "Horobi, we got ourselves a new friend."
A cruel smirk spread itself across Horobi's face. "All is as Ark wills it." He said as he approached the now hacked ServantGear, reaching his hand out he presented a lime green and black Progrize Key to her. "Now take this, break your shackles and use it to bring about humanity's extinction."
"I will comply," Saber replied, reaching for the rectangular shaped object that he was offering her. "Humanity's fate is to become ex…"
Before she could take it Saber suddenly gasped, her eyes momentarily suddenly flickering back and forth between red and her normal green as she swatted the Zetsumerize Key out of his hand before grasping at her HumaGear Module, grimacing and grasping as she took a few stumbled steps away from Horobi before collapsing onto her knees.
Gritting her teeth, Saber seized hold of the Zetsumerizer and tore the device free from her body before dropping to her knees, damage to a frame could be seen from she'd forcefully removed it.
Panting Saber glared at the silver device as her grip tightened on it, reducing it to twisted scrap before tossing it aside. That done she turned her gaze up towards Horobi and Jin, fixing both rogue HumaGear with a defiant look.
"Wh…what the…?" Jin exclaimed. "How come it didn't work?"
"That's what you get for underestimating a ServantGear as well as the will of a Heroic Spirit." Rin told the MetsuboJinrai leader. "ServantGear aren't like regular HumaGear, unlike you Saber has a soul."
"A soul…?" Jin replied, clearly surprised by Rin's words.
"I see, the soul that a ServantGear serves as a vessel for prevents them from being forcefully overwritten," Horobi said as he produced his Forcerizer and placed it against his waist, a strap emerging and securing it to him. "If ServantGear cannot be converted, then they are of no use to us."
FORCERIZER!
With his Driver now in place, the blond HumanGear reached into his smock and produced his Poison Progrize Key, extending his arm out to the side he then pressed the Key's button.
POISON!
"Henshin…" The blond haired HumaGear declared before slotting the Key into the Forcerizer and pulling on the yellow claw-like attachment on the device, activating the Key and pulling it open.
fOrCrIzE!
Bolts of purple energy crackled off of Horobi's body as the large metal scorpion appeared, letting out a metallic sounding cry before it skittered around him and lashed out at the blond HumaGear with its tail, striking him in the chest. The metallic arachnid then lifted itself up off of the ground and wrapped itself around Horobi, the purple bodysuit of his Rider form appearing on his body.
All of a sudden the scorpion's body seemed to erupt into multiple pieces of metal connected to dozens of black wires that then reeled them in and attached them to Horobi's body, creating his suits armor to complete his transformation.
STING SCORPION!
bReAk dOwN!
Wincing slightly, Saber got back to her feet, fixing Horobi with a stern look. "You fiend," She said sternly, her sword appearing in her hands. "Your actions will not go unpunished."
Horobi scoffed as he manifested a black, purple and silver briefcase that he quickly unfolded into his preferred weapon, the Attaché Arrow, before pointing it and firing off several shots at Saber who easily managed to deflect them.
ARROWRIZE!
A short distance away from them Shirou was running towards Horobi and Saber, as he ran, he produced his Jump Key, pressed the button and scanned it.
JUMP! AUTHORIZE!
"Henshin…" Shirou cried out, light produced by Zea's beam illuminated him as he flicked the key open and inserted it into the Driver.
PROGRIZE!
Seconds later the large grasshopper appeared jumping around him before leapt towards him as the black bodysuit appeared on Shirou, its body becoming the hopper themed armor that completed the look of Kamen Rider Zero-One.
TO-BIA GA RISE! RISING HOPPER!
A Jump to The Sky Turns Into A Rider Kick!
"Stop it…" The yellow-ish green grasshopper Rider cried out before leapt towards Horobi, landing in front of him
"Shirou…" Saber exclaimed, a note of pain in her voice as she clutched at the damaged area of her frame.
"Saber, are you alright?" Zero-One asked the blond haired ServantGear, worry evident in his voice.
"I…I am fine, you need not concern yourself with me." Saber replied as she got back up to her feet, several sparks crackling off of the damaged area of her frame as she said this.
"What are you talking about, you're clearly damaged." the Grasshopper Rider retorted. "Getting hacked by that Zetsumerizer and ripping it off of you, you're clearly to hurt to keep fighting."
"No…no, this…this is nothing. The pain I feel right now is nothing compared to everything else I have endured." Saber said defiantly, doing her best not to wince as more spark crackled off the damaged area of her frame. "All that matters right now is the enemy in front of us, for the sake of everyone's future MetsuboJinrai must be destroyed."
"Saber…" Zero-One muttered, whilst worry could still be heard, there was also a note of awe in his voice as he gazed upon Saber as she moved to take her place alongside him, gripping her sword in both hands as she assumed her combat stance.
"Now Shirou, let us defeat Horobi," She glanced over and flashed him a smile. "Together."
"R…right…" Zero-One said, composing himself produced his Attaché Calibur, taking hold of part of it he pulled on it to reveal the blade that was stored within it.
BLADERIZE!
"Let's go Saber…" Zero-One said, his voice now filled with determination, before both Master and Servant then charged at Horobi, the leader of MetsuboJinrai letting out a low sounding breath as he readied his weapon in preparation.
At the same time Archer had finished off the last of the Battle Magia, as the final one hit the ground the tanned skinned ServantGear turned his attention over to where Zero-One and Saber were engaging Horobi.
Just as he was about to head over to them all of a sudden Jin dropped down from out of the sky and landed before him. "Hey there," he greeted Archer. "Since things didn't work out with Saber, how about you be my friend instead."
Archer didn't say anything, choosing to fix the HumaGear Rider with a stern look. Gripping the handles of both Kanshou and Bakuya he then lunged towards Jin, slashing at him with his signature weapons, the pink and gunmetal Rider laughing as he ducked out of the way to avoid it.
Back with Zero-One and Saber, the two of them were engaging Horobi, the purple and gunmetal Rider quickly finding himself on the defensive as he warded off both Master and Servant.
Gripping his Attaché Calibur Zero-One went to slash at the MetsuboJinrai leader who ducking under the Grasshopper Riders attempt to slash at him, responding quickly by delivering a punch to his midsection, knocking him to back up a few steps before turning to deal with Saber, blocking with sword with his Attaché Arrow.
"Horobi, you were created to aid mankind and yet you wish to see them wiped out." Saber questioned the Rider. "Tell me, why do you follow such a foolish path?"
"I am a follower of Ark; it has decreed the extinction of humanity." Horobi replied. "Through me it's wishes will be carried out..."
No sooner had he said this a long metallic cord with a spiked barb launches itself from the gauntlet on Horobi's left wrist that wrapped itself around Zero-One's waist, with a flick of his wrist he tossed the Grasshopper Rider at Saber, knocking both of them to the ground.
Seeing that both Zero-One and Saber were both down for the moment, Horobi produced his Hercules Beetle Progrize Key, pressing the button on it before slotting it into the Attaché Arrow.
STRONG! Hercules Beatles Ability!
That done, the purple and gunmetal Rider pointed the Attaché Arrow at Saber and Zero-One, pulling back in the Draw Extender energy began to gather and encircle the Still Rapper before releasing his hold and fired at her, the energy shot taking the form of a beetle's horn.
Seeing it in coming Saber raised her sword in an attempt to block it, the force of it colliding with her weapon pushing her backwards a short distance before the energy suddenly exploded, sending both of them sprawling across the ground as well as knocking her sword out of her grip, the wind encased weapon embedding itself a short distance away from her.
Meanwhile Zero-One's armor glowing as he hit the ground, after rolling across it for a short distance it vanished as his transformation was cancelled leaving behind a gasping Shirou, the red head wincing as he rolled onto his back.
AMAZING KABAN SHOOT!
"Shirou…" The now disarmed Saber called out as she looked over at her Master before she pushed herself up off of the ground. "Damn, Horobi, he's strong…"
No sooner had she said this the sound of approaching footsteps caught her attention and looking up she saw Horobi walking towards her.
"Humanity's fate...is to go extinct." Horobi said calmly as the long metallic snake-like scorpion tail wrapped itself around his leg. "A fate that you can join them in…"
STING DYSTOPIA!
Raising his stinger wrapped leg, Horobi aimed it towards the blond ServantGear, delivering a swift and vicious kick that struck her in the chest, the stinger penetrating right through her armor and penetrating her frame.
For a moment Saber could only stand there, her eyes wide and a look of horror on her face as Horobi removed his foot and turned to walk away. All of a red energy suddenly started to radiate from her body and the point where she'd been penetrated began to glow with an ominous purple light before she was engulfed in a large explosion.
STING DYSTOPIA!
Quickly the flames caused by the explosion died down slightly, revealing a heavily damaged looking Saber standing there, her legs giving out from underneath her and collapsed to the ground, lying there unmoving surrounded by flames.
"SABER!" Shirou cried out, dashing over to the heavily damaged ServantGear's side. "Saber, please speak to me…"
"S…bzzt…S…bzzt…S…Shirou…" Saber replied, her voice heavily distorted, sparks of electricity crackling off of her damaged frame as she reached a hand towards him. "I…(crack)…I…(crack)…I'm sor…sor…sor…"
Before she could finish these words the light of her HumaGear Module faded and her eyes lost their lustre as she powered down, lying there motionlessly on the ground, her hand still reaching out towards him.
Shirou stared at the damaged Servant, eyes wide in horror and a look of shock and horror on his face. "Saber…" He muttered. "No, Saber…Saber…"
All of a sudden, his hands curled themselves into fists and his look of sorrow twisted itself into one of anger, glancing upwards Shirou fixed his gaze towards Horobi, rage burning within his golden eyes.
"Izu," He spoke up, barely restrained anger clearly audible in his voice, "If we get Saber back to Hiden, can we repair her?"
The dark haired cocked her head to the side as she proceeded. "She is a ServantGear, they are incredibly difficult models to manufacture President Shirou." The secretary HumaGrear replied, "However her body is still based on a Humagear, with Satellite Zea's assistance it should be possible."
His gaze never shifting from Horobi, Shirou produced his Shining Hopper Progrize Key as he rose up to his full height. "Do it, get Saber back to the office." He ordered before activating the Key and scanned it. "Tohsaka, go with her. Horboi…he's mine…"
SHINING JUMP! AUTHORIZE!
From on high in space, Zea's satellite once more fired an energy beam from its eye towards Shirou's position, flicking the key open the rust haired Magus/CEO raising it towards the sky, intercepting Zea's beam that that then changed shape and took the form of multiple circular patterns at the center of which was a rectangular opening in which the Progrize Key was inserted.
With a twist of his wrist, Shirou rotated the key, as if he were opening a lock on the round circuitry like a gate from which emerged a pair of grasshoppers, a large glowing one made from energy with a smaller metallic looking one riding in its back.
"HENSHIN!" Shirou declared as he inserted the Key into the Zero-One Driver before waving his hand over to the grasshoppers, catching them in a glowing energy net like that then moved over and forming a glowing cocoon-like sphere around him.
PROGRIZE!
The Rider Kick Increases The Power By Adding To Brightness!
Within seconds the cocoon like sphere vanished to reveal Shirou standing there, now clad in his armored bodysuit that appeared bulkier than usual, glowing yellow circuitry pulsed through him and erupted out into six grasshopper legs, before they folded inwards, forming the 'X' like protrusions between his shoulders and arms, with the remaining two becoming the protrusions on his helmet.
SHINING HOPPER!
When I SHINE! Darkness Fades!
"Horobi, there's only one person who can defeat you." The once more transformed Zero-One said, the red lenses of his helmet giving off a glow as he addressed the leader of MetsuboJinrai, gesturing to himself with his thumb, "And that's me!"
AN And with that a new instalment in this project is fini. Happy Halloween everyone, to celebrate the spoopy season we've got a new chapter based on the world of Zero-One. Also I hope that your reading this on time given the technical issues that the site has been experiencing as of late. something else that happened to me recently was that in the time between this chapter and the last one my cat passed away, as you can imagine me and my family were pretty saddened by that. He was 16 years old, which according to a poster in the vets office made him the equivalent of someone in their 80's in human years so he'd had a pretty good life.
He'd gone down health wise in the days leading up to passing, we had hoped that he'd curl up and go to sleep and pass that way but it eventually got to the point where we couldn't stand to see him suffer anymore and me and my dad took him to be put to sleep, I held him the whole way on the drive over. Afterwards we brought him back to my parents home and me and my dad buried him under a tree in the garden that he liked to curl up and sleep under.
But yeah, enough of that. Your not reading this to hear my sob story.
Getting back on topic of this story. Yeah, this is the Zero-One chapter I mentioned that I was writing last time, watching the show over the last few months recently really got my creative juices flowing, it wasn't what I was originally planning to release for Halloween, I really wanted to have my new Zi-O chapter that I mentioned that I was working on ready by now but obviously that didn't happen. I am happy to report that it looks to by 98% done so hopefully that I'll get to post it at some point before the end of the year.
As you saw in the chapter itself I was able to actually incorporate the ServantGear idea which I brought up in the Authors Notes in the first Zero-One chapter but didn't implement in the actual chapter itself.
As a refresher, in this story Magecraft has been rapidly vanishing from the world to the point that post the Fourth Holy Grail War no one, not even the likes of Sakura and Rin (probably the only exceptions left are Zouken and Zelretch) would have the Prana nessasary to summon a Heroic Spirit. To compensate for this the Clock Tower approached Hiden Intelligence and commissioned them to create a special type of HumaGear capable of acting as a vessel to house a Heroic Spirit. Hiden agreed and in collaboration with ZAIA Enterprise they developed ServantGear, although development of the project was delayed significantly because of the Daybreak incident, in exchange Hiden was guaranteed one of the seven Master slots for the Holy Grail War along side the Tohsaka, the Einzbern and the Matou provided they could find a Mage to represent them.
So yeah all the Servants in this version of the Holy Grail War, with the exception of Gilgamesh, are robots. because they need to be able to hold a Heroic Spirit ServantGear are difficult and expensive to manufacture, thus why these's only so many of them, so no Saber can't just be uploaded into a new body as a regular HumaGear wouldn't be able to hold her essence and even if she could, since she's a Heroic Spirit that was summoned from the Throne of Heroes, there isn't a backup version of her personality contained within Zea. That and we learn in this chapter that, due to the presence of the Heroic Spirit's essence, ServantGear can't bet forcefully converted into Magia by MetsuboJinrai, the only reason that Saber becomes Ark-Saber later on is because she willingly accepts Ark's power.
Also for anyone curious as how thing line up timeline wise, the Daybreak incident responsible for a lot of the events of Zero-One takes place the event of Fate/Zero so nothing really changes up to that point.
And as for Shirou's remark about Rin and Saber doing something besides lounging around his office, technically both of them work for Hiden. Officially Saber is Shirou's bodyguard and as for Rin she appointed herself as Shirou advisor on matters regarding Magecraft but officially she's listed in the system as interning under Izu.
Since we're in the subject of Zero-One I recently finished the show as well as watched all the movies. On the whole Zero-One was a pretty decent show. Sure its got its issues, the jobs completion between Hiden and ZAIA as well as Ark-Zero's rampaging dragged on far longer than they needed to, along with that group of Specials that aired during Covid were for the most part entirely skippable and just how rushed the final arc was. For anyone who might not have seen Zero-One, when it comes to the specials that aired episode 35 the only ones with any merit are the two President's Specials, while they're just recap Zero-One's different forms and fights up to episode 35 they also give us our are the first hints of both Azu and Ark-Zero and episode 35.5 as its the first true appearance of Azu, the Arkrize Key and gives us our first hint that Jin isn't onboard with reviving Ark.
In my opinion, with the exception of Reiwa the First Generations, Zero-One's movies aren't very good. I get from what I've seen that people really seem to love RealxTime but honestly didn't find it too be all that good, Esu, who was built up as our villain flor 99% of the movie only for the real villain it to turn out that the real villain to turn out to be some guy who'd had half a dozen lines before then was weak as hell. Yeah yeah, I know that this movie was originally intended to be Zero-One's summer movie but got pushed back and was rewritten to take place post the shows ending because of Covid and they had to work around all the restrictions but those are just excuses. That being said RealxTime was still better than the utter train wreck that was both the Other's movies.
Seriously the theme of both of the Other's movies just seem to be "lets take a bunch of characters that fan's like and then take a shit them". Despite Horobi and Jin becoming watchers of humanity to protect them against the return of Ark following the end of the series MetsuboJinrai declare war in humanity thus doing what Arkland, whose the only good thing about the MetsuboJinrai movie, wants them to do thus creating more demand for his companies soldier type HumaGear thus increasing their profits and setting Kamen Rider MetsuboJinrai up as the villain of the next movie which in theory is an interesting idea but really wasn't executed well, especially with it destroying the MetsuboJinrai quartets physical bodies.
Then in Vulcan and Valkyrie both Fuwa and Yaiba spend most of their time talking to two random Soldier HumaGear both of whom die so they can give the pair their Progrize Keys for their obligatory movie upgrage forms. That's right, Valkyrie finally gets a real suit upgraded…and pretty much just gets beaten in five seconds by MetsuboJinrai just so it can be defeated by Vulcan, thus fully killing off Horobi Jin Naki and Ikazuchi, as well as Fuwa who dies(?) in the process. Maybe, it wasn't all that clear.
So yeah, in summery I enjoyed Zero-One the show for the most but I really didn't like the movies.
Talking about King-Ohger's crossover with Kyoryuger wrapped Up, the ending of which many, myself included, seem to think could be hinting at something. Either the Kyoryuger's will reappear for King-Ohger's finale of if we'll be getting a Kyoryuger 10th Anniversary V-Cinema at some point, one that will hopefully have all the characters show up. Now the Kings are back on Terra only to find that Daged has seized control of the planet and Racules is still alive, something I pretty certain we all saw coming, and he's working for the Glactinsects, something that we pretty much already knew since Dagded said that the prior Kings of Shuggodam were working for him. Based on the preview of the next episode seems a good chunk of the show is going to be about freeing the Kingdoms from the Galactinsects control.
Meanwhile Gotchard is still doing Gotchard things. Honestly the show right now feel pretty similar to the early part of Build, as in glossing over plot for the most part in favor of pushing out as many different suits/toys as possible, although in fainess most of Gotchards suits thus far at least look pretty good when compared to Builds which had a lot of really awful looking suits and in Build's defence (geez, I can't believe I'm say that) the early part of that show at least had the mysteries of Sento's past, Katsuragi's murder and why Banjo was framed for it as well as what Faust up to carry it through its first arc prior to the Hokoto Invasion beginning in episode 17.
Anyway getting back to Gotchard, I'm not to say that there's literally nothing going on its just information is being drip fed to us right now. We know that the Abyssal Sisters are working for someone called Geryon whose sealed behind the Dark Door and the Gotchard Driver is needed to unseal it. Additionally they've been gathering the malice generated by the Malgams and in the latest episode one of them, Lachesis, had a Ride Chemy Card which has got me thinking that just msybe someone at the Alchemist Academy is working with them. Also that Rinne's father might be still alive. I just hope that the show's story can pick up sometime before they start shilling the Gotchard/Geats movie which has been officially announced recently.
Also recently I've seen a community post on Youtube of what might be Gotchard's first Super Form which combines Golddash (the bike) with Mechanichani (the crab Chemy that got sealed at the start of episode 7). Whether it is it really is his big or not or it its just another basic transformation form, I don't know, guess we'll see at some point.
Oh and just cos it happened recently, what looks to be Gotchard's Secondary Rider, Kamen Rider Legend, has been revealed, their suit which I've seen described as Decade crossed with Ohma Zi-O in someone's comment, and he utilises the Rider Legend Cards.
I think that this is a good place to sign off. Happy almost Halloween, as always a big thanks for taking the time to see what I've written and feel free to drop a comment and give me your feedback on this installment.
Till next time, peace out y'all
