6/6 for today!

Draco didn't come home until well after midnight on Friday night, which meant they weren't able to check in with him until Saturday morning.
"How did it go then?" Theo asked over their eggs.
"The Dark Lord is ecstatic about the shift in plan, he's hoping that Regulus' new ideas will generate some movement. He feels as though we've been stagnant for too long," Draco replied, stirring his porridge.
"And you?" Hermione asked, reaching her hand to hold his. He looked up at her. "Are you alright?"
He sighed, catching everyone's attention. "They're so cruel, it's awful to watch. The things I have to see are terrible. I feel like I'm constantly watching them torture and kill, rape and pillage and I just want it to stop."
Theo stood and came to stand at Draco's side. "What can we do, amor?" he whispered.
"Why can't it just stop?" Draco whispered, tears streaking down his face. "I don't want my sons to be born in a world that has this going on. I want them to be free."
"Andi said that April or M-" Hermione started.
"But that's months away Hermione!" Draco shouted, scraping his chair back. "How am I supposed to last months!"
He looked around the room and bolted out the door. Hermione and Theo went to follow, but Richard held up a hand. "I think I can talk to him," he said quietly. Hermione and Theo watched as Richard followed his son-in-law.
Theo put his hand on Hermione's shoulder and led her back to the table. "You have to eat, love," he said quietly after she'd shuffled her food around her plate for a few long minutes. "For Scorp. You know your dad will get him sorted."
"I just want this to be over too," she said quietly, feeling tears slip from her eyes. "It kills me to see him in so much pain. To know that there are so many terrible things going on out there that we cannot stop."
"But we're doing all we can," Jean said from her own seat at the table. "If I know anything about your father and any of my children, it's that he can pull anyone out of their darkest place and you are all the most resilient beings."
"I don't want to be resilient, Mum," Hermione let out a sob. "I just want to be normal."
Theo smiled sadly, "We're not built for normal, love. We're built to take on the world and leave it better than how we found it."
By the time they'd finished eating and made their way to the television room, Draco was ready to join them. "You alright?" Theo asked, holding out his arms.
"No," Draco said with a sigh as he sunk into Theo's embrace, "but Richard made a lot of sense. I know we're doing all we can, but I just don't want to have to see it all anymore. I just want it to be over."
"I know, mon étoile," Hermione murmured, stroking his hair, "we do too."
