It's official, the catalog's perks are cheat codes.

At first, I was a bit dubious if they would work as they were described. But it seemed that my worries were unnecessary as, in only a few weeks, I have grown beyond what a child, if not, what an adult is capable of.

The proof was shown to me in the form of several militiamen lying on the ground, all groaning in pain after a quick spar with me. Seeing them whimper on the ground, I barely managed to restrain a grin from appearing on my face.

I really became strong, didn't I...

I thought as I looked at my fist, clenching it before my mind went back to one of the perks I've bought from the Catalog.

[Martial Talent].

As the name suggests, it grants me prodigious martial talent and allows me to quickly learn any personal, non-supernatural combat skills I encounter, whether melee or ranged. And the better my opponent or my teacher is than me, the faster I learn, until I eventually catch up to them. And while the militiamen were fairly skilled, they are nothing compared to my teacher who is an old but experienced knight.

"You did well today, Kay." I perked up, hearing a gruff voice congratulating me. I looked back to see my teacher, or rather, my father Ector standing behind me with a stern expression on his face.

From what I know from both my old and new memories, Ector was a knight in the service of Uther Pendragon before he retired to the Welsh provinces, far away from the skirmishes which are happening all over the eastern side of Britain.

Why he decided to retire instead of staying by Uther's side is a mystery to me, but I don't really care since this decision allowed me to live somewhat in peace, away from the battlefield... for now, that is.

But still, the fact that he's a skilled knight makes it great for me since it allows me to get stronger faster, and that, until I caught up to him.

"But do not get a big head for defeating them as there are many in this world who are far mightier than them."

"I understand, Father." Well, one of them is standing before me right now.

"That said, I hope you don't slack off on your daily training while I'm away. The same can be said for you all!" Ector said, shouting the last part to all the militiamen who were back on their feet as they all nodded before going away, seemingly going training or something.

"Are you going somewhere?" I asked Ector, a bit curious about that part, while he gave me a nod.

"Yes, I was called by my lord for a request so I'll be away from town for a few days, if not more."

A request from Uther... does that mean that Arthuria will finally come here? Slowly but surely, history is starting to take its course, huh... But will I really be able to fulfill my part in it, or even change it?

No, I mustn't think negatively. It's not a matter of whether I can do it or not, I have to do it. I have to make it work. Even if I don't and ran away for my life, I'll never be able to leave this world since completing the mission that was given to me is a requirement for me to be able to use [Exit Stage Left, and I'm sure that I'll be involved in fights anyway, given the war happening in Britain right now.

Alright, let's do this.

After making up my mind, I stared straight into Ector's eyes and asked him, "Father, may I ask you a request?"

"What is it?"

"Can you take me with you, please?"

"No." A quick reply came out from his mouth, if not immediate, which surprised me a bit. "I won't be going on a trip for fun but for work, I hope you understand that."

"I do, of course, so can you please reconsider your decision? I'll be on my best behavior."

"Then tell me why do you want to come with me so badly?" Ector asked me, staring down at me in the eyes while I tried my best to not divert mine.

I can't really say that it's because I want to increase my collection of swords.

The abilities I bought with [Template Stacking I] are Seofon's.

Despite being a goofy troll, he's an utterly beast in a world where monsters and deities that control or personify concepts are roaming across the world of Granblue.

Heck, I even remember that he was categorized as one of the greatest threats capable of destroying the world, even higher than those monsters themselves, despite being only a human. Well, it doesn't help that he's one of the few individuals who is linked to what is essentially the Granblue world's demiurge, who is called the Omnipotent, and its divine power.

That aside, one of his main abilities among others, and the only one I can use for now, is to create copies of any swords he's ever seen or taken in his hands in the form of spectral swords, also known as spirit blades.

And so, if possible, I would like to go with the old man to Uther's place so I could stock some weapons in my arsenal. I mean, he's a king so he must have a castle, meaning that he must have an armory with all kinds of weapons in it. I've already copied all the militia swords, along with Ector's, but I'm sure that there may be some better swords over there.

"I've never met a king so I would like to see the one you served in the past. And I want to see an active knight on duty and how they work. I mean, you told me that you would train me so that I would become a knight, so I'm a bit curious about them."

"I see. But those reasons aren't good enough for me to take you along, so my answer won't chan..." I heard Ector say before he stopped, prompting me to look up to see that he was staring into space. It lasted for a few moments as he let out a sigh, mumbling under his breath with a tired expression on his wrinkled face.

"Why is this happening... Change of plans, Kay, you're coming with me."

Hearing this, I couldn't stop myself from smiling. I don't know why he decided to change his mind, but it works for me so I don't care.

"Thank you, Father!"

"Hmpf! Don't thank me, it's not like I wanted to do this... In any case, go back to the house and pack your stuff. Our ride will arrive tomorrow morning so you better go to bed early tonight."

Nodding my head off, I rushed back home after saying goodbye to all the militiamen, preparing myself for the little trip.

I won't just sit back and wait for things to happen… No, in order for things to change… and my own survival, I have to take some initiative and act.

It's the only way I can think of if I want to leave this world as soon as possible.
