The siege lasted for over four hours before the troops from Londinium arrived with King Uther at their head, causing the Saxons to retreat before they could lose even more of their soldiers in a prolonged confrontation.

"You did a good job holding that long, Ector. You and everyone else deserve to be praised for this feat!" Uther shouted at the soldiers who raised their voice in joy, happy that they managed to survive what they thought to be an inevitable massacre.

But just as some were happy, some were not as they were all staring in fear at a certain child sitting on some rubble, his light brown hair and white cape stained with the blood of the Saxons he massacred, his kill count being higher than any of them.

"...really scary..."

"...looked like a demon..."

As whispers started to spread out among the afraid soldiers, Kay didn't move at all which worried some of them as they feared for his retaliation for the words.

"Hey, Kay!" But out of nowhere, a beautiful woman hopped before him with a joyful expression beaming on her face. "You were so incredible out there, much more than I expected. You were just as ferocious as a rampaging beast, but also as graceful as a great fairy. Really, you gave me a great show to watch today." She said, stunning nearly all the people who listened to her words as they couldn't believe how she could be happy for seeing the carnage made by Kay, a same scene that made them fear him.

"...she must be mad..."

And just like before, whispers started to spread out once again before they all stopped when they all saw Kay stood up from his seat, his eyes hidden by his bangs.

However, much to the confusion of all, he remained silent before he suddenly grabbed the hem of Merlin's dress and used it to clean his bloodied face, revealing her black underwear and rounded ass to the eyes of all the men who were taken aback at the sight.

"That's quite bold of you, Kay. I never thought you would be kinky enough to do that kind of thing in public..." Merlin started to say with a sultry voice, which made the spectators gulp their saliva at once, quickly forgetting about their fear about the succubus before they all widened their eyes in shock when Kay slapped her breasts, making them bounce as she let out a moan. "Ah~!"

"Get your mind out of the gutter, peeper. Damn it, I feel so disgusting. I really need to take a bath right now. Urk."

As he said that, Kay started to walk away, heading to the castle through the crowd of people who scattered, creating a path for him.

"Then how about taking a dip in the river? Want your big sister to take you there?" Merlin said as she followed after him, trying to hug him from behind. But before she could do it, Kay suddenly turned around and grabbed her wrists before pushing her away.

"I don't remember having a pervert for a sister, so no thank you."

"Hey, don't start to be shy now after everything you've done to me." Merlin said with a wide smile on her face as she quickly took Kay's hands into her own, interlocking her fingers with his. "Or perhaps you prefer to hold my hand? How cute."

"Want me to slap you once more?"

"Oh, so you want to give me a spanking? Sure, try it if you ca–Kyah!" And before she could finish her sentence, Kay jumped on Merlin like a beast, creating a commotion in the middle of the courtyard with every soldier staring at them.

"What are they doing?" Ector muttered under his breath, shaking his head in shame at Merlin and Kay's behavior while Uther simply let out a barely visible smile, seemingly amused by the events happening before them.

"Just let them have fun. It's not everyday you can see Merlin that close with somebody like that. Perhaps she's delighted to find someone similar to herself in some way."

"What do you mean by that, my lord?" Ector frowned at Uther's words, not comprehending them. "In what way are they similar?"

"I'm sure you have noticed by now but Merlin always puts a wall between herself and everybody else because of our different nature, something she's well aware of. She never considered herself as a human being, despite the fact she herself is half-human. And now, I believe that she found something similar in your son who, despite being a human child, is fundamentally different from the norm. This is nothing but speculation but I wonder if the reason why she's so interested in Kay is because he's just like her, a being that others cannot describe as anything but a monster."

"A monster, huh..."

"That said, how about you spend the night at my place tonight, my friend? There is something I want to talk about with you in private."

"Understood. What about Kay, should I ask Lady Merlin to send him back?" Ector said as he observed his son who had Merlin in a headlock, the succubus struggling to get out of his grasp.

"So it wasn't that you wanted to hold my hand, but to hug me instead? Ahaha. Despite your shyness, you must really love me, aren't you?"

"Yeah, I really love you. It's just too bad that I'll have to separate your head from the rest of your body. What about you? Don't you love me a little too much, spending all your time flirting with me and going after my body?"

"Of course, I love you. After all, you're the greatest toy I've ever seen in ages. Isn't that a great thing that our feelings are mutual?"

"Yeah, really!" He shouted, tightening his hold on Merlin who let out a scream while shaking her body around to the arousal of the soldiers who all positioned themselves behind them to observe her plump buttock.

"No, he will also be involved so he too can stay at the castle."

"Is that so?" Hearing this, Ector closed his eyes, losing himself in his thoughts.

'Looks like this is nothing but the beginning... I'm starting to worry about our future.'

"Damn it, I'm so tired..."

Dropping dead on a bed in one of the guest rooms in Uther's castle, I stared blankly at the ceiling, reminding myself of the siege that happened.

So, I really managed to do it... I killed all of those people with my own hands... Now that I did it, I can't help but feel a little surprised at how little I felt about their deaths.

Even though they were my enemies, they were also people with lives on their own, their own reasons to fight, perhaps even a family or country to return to. But despite all that, I don't really feel guilt for taking their lives. Am I... a psychopath? Or was it a sociopath? Or maybe it's because of the Catalog's [Stress Defense] which allows me to act calmly under pressure and protect me from degenerative mental effects such as trauma and others.

In any case, I'm thankful for that. I don't have time to feel sorry for them or myself. This is war, only the strong survive. It's only when everything is over... that I would be allowed to wallow myself in self-pity.

As I took out the smart device from my pocket, I turned the screen on and was surprised to see that I received a new notification.

Browsing through the Catalog, I searched for the section that explained how captures worked and I quickly found it.

'Additional companions may be acquired by 'capturing' them in their homeworlds. This is typically achieved by using a Binding or certain Other Controls, or when a target gives you a sincere love confession, usually romantic, however false positives occasionally happen and trigger a capture that isn't entirely merited...'

My mind froze when I read the last part before I started to remember our little fight after the Saxons retreated.

She did confess to me, but it wasn't a love confession... Oh god, she even managed to fucking troll the system... Kuh... ahaha... That's such a Merlin thing to do...

And as I took a look at the device, I noticed that I gained more credits than I should have from her capture. Frowning, I quickly browsed around for information before discovering that by 'capturing' Merlin, I gained some discounts on a few perks, allowing me to get some refunds on the ones I had already purchased.

That's pretty cool... Well, it means that I'll be able to buy more then. That new perk [HUD] sounds pretty interesting, it would be like having a game screen in my head. Also, I won't have to bother myself to hide the device everytime I'm in public. I guess I'll also buy [Covert Talent, getting better at lying and stealthy will help me a lot. Also, I'll buy some defenses too... and done.

As I saw the device disappear from my hand with some panels appearing before my eyes instead, part of the Catalog being displaye'd on them, I let out a little smile before I mentally closed all of them.

That's pretty good. Well, guess it's time for me to hit the sack now, I'm dead tired as fuck now.

But honestly, I sincerely hope that the future won't be as troublesome as today was...

Thinking that, I slowly closed my eyes before I quickly fell asleep, passing out from exhaustion, not noticing that somebody was watching over me.
