In a certain mansion's basement, Rin Tohsaka was on the floor, engraving a summoning circle with some melted gems.

"--Withdrawal within elimination, engrave four areas and surround with the summoning circle... Alright, preparations are complete." She said standing up, wiping the sweat out of her forehead as she looked with a proud smile at the work she had done.

After looking at the clock, confirming that it was nearly 2 o'clock in the morning, she nodded to herself before she took a deep breath as she focused herself.

'The summoning circle is ready... And my magical energy will be at its peak at 2 o'clock so in just a few minutes, perfect... As for the catalyst...'

As she knelt down and took hold of a box that was on the ground, she opened it to see a strange shard in it. She didn't know what kind of object it was, the only detail she got from Kirei when he gave her the box was that it was apparently an artifact from the late Antiquity period, belonging to one of the most powerful knights of that time.

How did he obtain that artifact? She didn't know it, but as long as it helped her summon a Servant from the Saber class, the strongest class among the sevens, she would keep her mouth shut.

And as she placed the artifact in the center of the circle, she then waited, patiently watching the hands of the clock move slowly. And once she saw it was two o'clock, she activated her magic circuits and chanted.

Bare and silver and iron. Stone for foundation and the Grand Duke of contracts. My great master Shveinorg for the ancestor.

A wall for the descending winds. The four gates shall close and come out the crown. Let the three-forked road to the kingdom cycle.

Enclose. Enclose. Enclose. Enclose. Enclose.

Five times for each repetition. Just destroy the enclosed time.

I announce.

Thy body shall be under my command, my fate shall be determined by thy sword.

Follow the call of the Holy Grail. If thou wouldst obey this mind and this reason, then answer my call. Make an oath here.

I am the one who shall become the virtue of all afterworld. I am the one who shall lay out the evil of all afterworld.

Thou art Seven Heavens clad in the Three Great Words. Emerge from the ring of control, guardian of balance...!

And the moment she finished her incantation, the room was filled by an intense light which robbed her of her vision, forcing her to close her eyes. But at the same time, she felt her magical energy being pulled from her, as if she was tugging on a whale with a fishing rod.

"Perfect! I've drawn the strongest card for sure…!"

Rin shouted and when she felt that the light died down, she quickly opened her eyes to see... nothing.

"Huh...?"

There was no change in the room, no Servant to be seen, despite having raged out a large amount of ether. And then, she suddenly heard an explosion coming from the living room.

"Why!!!?" Without thinking, she made a rush to the living room, running up the basement stairs. And once she reached the room, she found out that the door was broken, being crooked.

"...Geez, you're in my way...!" With a crash, she kicked through the door into the living room before walking into the room. And the moment she put her foot inside, she understood everything.

The living room was a big mess, being full of rubble that must have fallen from the ceiling which displayed a huge hole. And sitting on it was a young man around her age, dressed in a black armor which was adorned with a white cape over it.

While she was confused by the intruder, her eyes landed on the wall clock that escaped destruction, but also showed that it was only 1 o'clock.

"...I did it again." Rin muttered as she fell on the ground, having quickly realized that every clock in her house were an hour early this day for some reason.

"...Well, what's done is done. I should reflect on my actions." She said, a bit irritated at her own stupidity, before she glared at the young man who was looking at her with a smile on his face, as if mocking her.

"So. What are you?"

"I would say that it's good etiquette to introduce yourself before asking the name of someone else... but seeing that you're my Master, I'll keep my mouth shut." He said, letting out a small sigh which made Rin frown.

'Her Servant?' She couldn't help herself but to be suspicious of his claim.

Since Servants were familiars made of magical energy and, despite their human appearance, a 'ghost' that has reached the level of spirits. But she couldn't sense any magical energy from him.

"Just to check, but are you really my Servant?"

"I would say yes, but it looks like it won't resolve your doubts. I think you should have noticed by now, but given the presence of Command Spells on your hand and the connection that we have established from our contract, I am indeed the Servant you have summoned a few moments ago."

Hearing his reply, after calming down a bit, Rin indeed felt a connection between the man and herself. It was as if her nerves were pointing outwards her body in the direction of the young man., along with a small part of her magical energy.

However, the fact that she couldn't feel anything from the being before her made no sense for her.

"In that case, I hope I'm wrong but... are you perhaps an Assassin?"

This was the only explanation she could think of right now, and much to her joy, he shook his head.

"While I could have been summoned in this class, I'm not."

"Yea–"

"I'm an Archer."

As soon as she heard that, she fell to her knees in an instant. "So, it isn't Saber..." Rin mumbled a bit disappointed but mostly at herself since her preparations weren't the most optimal.

"...What a blunder. Using that many jewels and not calling Saber... it's too appalling to face."

"Well, I'm sorry for not being summoned in my strongest class. Blame gacha for this." Hearing this, Rin just wanted to bury her head into a pillow and scream as hard as she could.

'He could have been a Saber! Damn it!!'

"Well, don't worry. Even if Archer isn't my best class, I assure you that I won't lose to Saber or any Servants around. In any case, I hope that we get along, Master."

Looking up at the smiling man who patted her head, she couldn't help but feel the confidence flowing out of him.

She really hoped that her Servant wasn't just all talks.

"As you predicted, it seems that Rin managed to summon the man you were waiting for using the catalyst you gave me." Said a priest as he looked at his companion, sitting on a bench, who simply smiled as she stared at the church's ceiling with her red eyes.

"Good... Very good... I suppose it was a good call to give it to Tokiomi's daughter. Even if she's only a mongrel, she did her job very well... I'll be going out for a moment, Kirei."

"Where are you going?"

"Of course, I'll go observe the Singularity. What else?"

"Why do you not use your Clairvoyance, your all-seeing eyes?" Kyrie asked as he saw Gilgamesh stopping in her tracks before she turned to him, an excited expression displayed on her face.

"It's because I can't see him that way. That man can't be seen by anybody unless they use their naked eyes, nobody. Not even the World itself is able to see him even though it adores him."

"Now, I've waited long enough, Singularity! It's time for round two!"
