One night under a heavy rain, a young girl wielding a staff as big as her body was kneeling on the ground, hastily tracing a summoning circle on the damp earth.

'I don't know if it will work, but I have to try it...'

Having inherited all of the memories of an alternate version of herself from the future, she managed to escape her fated death at the hands of the alliance made up from the five Fairy clans who destroyed her hometown, Orkney, and killed off the Rain clan who raised her. And now, she's alone in a world where the inhabitants are pursuing her, wishing for her death.

However, she would defy that fate no matter what. And so, she decided to trust the memories passed to her by her alternate self and decided to act.

'In order to survive, I need allies... Allies that aren't fairies...'

Once she completed the circle, she stood up before she chanted an incantation.

"Let silver and steel be the essence. Let stone and the archduke of contracts be the foundation. Let black be the color I pay tribute to. Let rise a wall against the wind that shall fall. Let the four cardinal gates close. Let the three-forked road from the crown reaching unto the Kingdom rotate. Let it be declared now, your flesh shall serve under me, and my fate shall be with your sword. Submit to the beckoning of my call. Answer, if you would submit to this will and this truth. An oath shall be sworn here. I shall attain all virtues of all of Heaven; I shall have dominion over all evils of all of Hell...?!"

In the middle of her chant, the young girl saw a group of fairies approaching from the corner of her eyes, all of them holding weapons in their hands.

"The child of prophecy is here!"

"Shoot her down! We can't let her live no matter what!" She heard one of them shouting as she saw a few fairies arming themselves with bows before shooting arrows at her. Seeing them coming, she hastened to finish her incantation.

"From the Seventh Heaven, attended to by three great words of power, come forth from the ring of restraint, protector of the holy balance! Please, I don't care who it is, but come help me!"

And as she shouted, the circle shone with a bright light which illuminated the whole area, blinding the girl's sight forcing her to shield her eyes with her arms.

"I accept that request."

Hearing an unknown voice, but yet familiar, the young girl widened her eyes before she tried to look at the owner's to see his silhouette standing over the summoning circle, swinging something which unleashed a powerful gust of wind.

"Kyah!" She was nearly blown away by the wind, but she felt an arm support her until she felt that the gust stopped along with the light, allowing her to see once again.

When she looked at her surroundings, she saw the arrows scattered around, having been blown away by the gust. Then she looked up to the being she had summoned, who was kneeling beside her, only to see a young man with light brown hair, wearing a black armor adorned with a pure white cloak. In his hand was a shining golden sword with seven glowing gems of different color embedded on the blade. And when she saw the man's face, she felt her heart skip a beat as she recognized the person supporting her.

Even though he was a person she knew only from the memories she inherited, she felt like she knew him for a long time even if this was their first meeting.

"You are..." She started to say before she stopped when she saw him shook his head.

"Sorry, but introductions will have to wait for a bit. I don't think they're willing to let us alone." He said as he turned to the group of fairies who were all glaring in their direction.

"From where did he come from?!"

"It doesn't matter! He helped the child of prophecy, he's an enemy! Kill him too!"

One of the fairies shouted before he rushed in their direction, a club in their hands, with the others quickly following behind him before they all jumped at them, brimming with bloodlust and murderous intent.

Seeing them approach, she tried to stand up, preparing herself to fight but...

"Don't worry, I'll take care of this." She heard the man speak, making her look up in confusion as she saw him already on his feet, having taken a stance with his sword. And then, she widened her eyes when he swung it

upwards with such force that it unleashed another gust of wind which nearly blew her away once more, but also cut both the fairies attacking them and the rainy clouds in the sky, cleaving them open to reveal the starry sky behind them.

The young girl was at loss for words when she saw the phenomena happen before her eyes as she could only stare at the man with amazement in her eyes.

'Just like shown in those memories, he is... If it's him, I would be able to...'

As many thoughts began to flood her mind, she saw him turn at her, wearing a warm smile.

"Sorry for that. When I saw those goblins, I couldn't hold back my strength. Are you hurt?"

"Uh... no, I'm fine, thanks to you."

"That's great. Then, since it looks like we're safe, allow me to introduce myself." He started to say as he stood up in front of her, planting his sword on the ground, and looked down on her with the starry night on his back.

"I am Kay, the Star Sword Sovereign. As a Saber class Servant, I have come in response to your summoning. I ask of you... are you my Master?"

Hearing this, the young girl could only nod for a moment before she found herself the courage to speak to the one standing in front of her, her savior and the one her alternate self adored so much.

"Y...yes, I am the one who summoned you. My name is... Tonelico. It's nice to finally meet you, Kay."
