To say Djeeta was curious about her new crew members would be a complete understatement. While she was used to recruiting odd people into her crew, she felt that the new additions didn't lose to them when it came to weirdness.

Artorius, a young squire under his brother Kay.

When she first met him, her first thought was that he was a handsome boy of her own age, possessing an androgynous face handsome enough that he could pass as a woman if he wished.

Some of his most prominent traits being his immense talent when it comes to wielding weapons, though he seems to prefer the use of swords and spears, and his strange closeness to his brother, Kay.

As far as she knew, she would always see him by his brother's side.

It wasn't unusual for her to see siblings be close to each other, considering that there were siblings among the crew members. But it was the first time for Djeeta to see siblings joined at the hips.

Moreover, the biggest surprise about Artorius was that he was actually a woman, her true name being Artoria.

According to Kay, the reason for her cross-dressing was due to the strict teachings of their parents, raising her like she was a boy from a very young age.

She had no idea why Artoria decided to reveal to them her true gender, but if she were to believe the words of Artoria's brother, it was because there was no need for her to conceal her secret among the crew, especially since they were away from home. Nonetheless, she took it as a token of Artoria's trust in them if she decided to reveal her true gender.

Since they were both girls of the same age, she wished she could get along with her, or even practice with her as she often saw her doing with Kay on the deck of the Grancypher.

Merlin, a spellcaster and someone Djeeta has trouble getting along with.

A woman boasting of peerless beauty which would make many men lose their touch with reality, often leading them astray.

She couldn't count how many times she had seen Merlin surrounded by men when they visited cities to restock themselves, all of them confessing their love to her despite having only met her moments before. But despite their passionate love for her, she would always refute their advances, stepping on anybody who tries to touch her without her permission.

So far, the only people she has seen touching her are the siblings she accompanied.

However, what baffles Djeeta about Merlin the most is her behavior.

Although she describes herself as an older sister to the siblings, to Djeeta she came across as a spectator, watching a show with them as actors for her amusement, never bothering to do anything she doesn't find amusing. And despite cheering on the siblings, she'd keep her implications to a minimum, staying on the sidelines as much as possible even if dangers were to befall on them.

Djeeta could only think of Merlin as an apathetic woman who comes off as seemingly uncaring, eluding all matters that don't interest her with an amicable smile on her face.

But, she was shocked to see Merlin expressing emotions other than amusement, though that only happens when she's around Kay, leading many of the crew members to believe they were a couple, though Artoria would always deny such rumors, claiming to be mere delusions made by people jealous of her brother.

And lastly, Kay, a self-proclaimed errant knight and the most mysterious of the bunch in her opinion.

For reasons unknown to her, she felt like she had met Kay somewhere in her life, feeling a kind of deep nostalgia when she encountered him and his group in Lumacie. She was a bit disappointed when she was told by the man himself that it was their first meeting and that Vyrn, her dragon friend who lived by her side since her youth, doesn't have any memories of meeting him.

But despite this, she couldn't help but feel some kind of connection between them.

If she had to describe the man with one word, it would be "Abnormal", a term often attributed to him by her crew members.

According to Lyria and the Primal Beasts among her crew, Kay had a presence that made them feel relaxed when near him, causing them to warm up quickly to the young man.

And from what she saw with her own eyes, Kay was just as talented as her sister when it came to wielding weapons, but unlike her sister who preferred swords and spears, he was seen training with all sorts of weapons he could get his hands on.

Swords, daggers, spears, axes, staves, guns, bows and katanas.

She was quite surprised when she witnessed him asking his fellow crew members to teach him their arts, only for him to quickly catch up to them after a few days of practice. His rapid progress baffled many among her crew, herself included, with a few expressing jealousy for his grand talents. Even hand-to-hand combat wasn't a problem for him. And it seemed that his talents extended to magic arts as well, such as having learned Alchemy from its creator, Cagliostro, and other magical styles from others.

At first, she thought that there was nothing Kay couldn't do, until she discovered that playing instruments wasn't something he was good at, unless it was to use them as weapons to bash people with.

But despite his immense talents, Kay was a well-mannered and polite man, instead of being boastful and foolish as many had feared given the talents and powers he possessed. However, she couldn't deny that Kay could also be outspoken in his words, which sometimes led to him coming off as a rude person.

But the most mysterious aspect of these three is that their fates couldn't be seen by any means. Her crew mates Marisa, who had future sights, and Arulumaya, who could also see visions of the future using her crystal ball, couldn't witness their futures with their respective gifts.

Although Artoria had no idea, it seemed to her that Merlin and Kay knew the reason why, though they didn't divulge it to them. Djeeta respected their decisions and boundaries, so she didn't ask further as long as it didn't put the crew in danger, which Kay asserted wouldn't happen.

Letting out a sigh, her mind focused on the puzzle that were her new recruits, she headed to the place where they were the most often, the dining room, and wasn't surprised to see the place crowded once she arrived.

"Hey, Kay. Are you sure you don't want to join the Order of the White Dragons?"

"Sorry, but I don't plan to serve somebody yet."

"Eh~?! Hey, Lancey, try to convince him."

"Vane, don't bother Kay too much. We shouldn't force him to do something he doesn't want to do. This dessert is good..."

Seeing Kay behind the counter in the middle of preparing a dish while talking to Lancelot and Vane, Djeeta couldn't help but smile at how Kay decided to take over the Grancypher's kitchen where he would spend most of his time.

If there's one thing the entire crew agreed on, it would be that Kay's cooking skills were divine, so much that even Primal Beasts who didn't need to nourish themselves would often visit the dining room to eat his food.

Glancing at a table that was nicknamed the 'Black Hole Zone' because it was where all the big eaters would sit down, Djeeta couldn't only chuckle as she saw Artoria, Lyria, Lily and Amira eating a mountain of dishes, the empty plates being stacked enough to form towers.

'Looks like our grocery bills are going to go up even more...' She thought, feeling a bit depressed, knowing that a mountain of paperworks will be waiting for her in her room as a result. She then turned to Kay and walked in his direction, the man talking with Yaia.

"Big brother, I ate all my vegetables!"

"Oh, that's admirable. Here, I made you some pudding as a reward."

"Yay! Thank you, big brother!"

"Oh, Djeeta. Welcome, is there anything you want to eat? As long as I have the ingredients and the recipes, I think I can make it."

Seeing him smile at her, Djeeta couldn't help but coyly nod her head as she felt some warmness in her chest, but also loneliness.

She doesn't know why she felt like this when watching Kay, but she intends to find out the reason.
