Now that they've had a moment's respite, she looks towards the green and pale reptile, who was still recovering, taking deep breaths. Their tail was fairly long, longer than he was tall- Or, at least it seemed like it- It was difficult to tell where the body ended and the tail began while they were lying on the ground. "A-are you okay?" She struggled to her feet as the world was spinning around them. They heard coughing before a response. "Yes.. I'll.. Be okay…" Their voice was a bit lower than she expected it to be. The half snake rose to their feet, shaking their head. "And I would have been fine…" "Really? It seemed like you were drowning."

He hesitated, then scoffed. "Yeah, yeah- I was struggling but I was fine. Thanks for trying to help though…" They checked the satchel, digging through it. He nodded, and closed the satchel. "Sorry, but I need to get back to that dungeon."

"Dungeon? That was a cave- Are you sure you're okay?" Perdita tilted their head. "Wha- Oh. Yeah. Guess you don't notice it if you live out here. They just change slowly every day. Some spacial phenomenon."

"I don't really remember anything before today, so I don't think it'd matter… N-Nothing besides my name, anyway." As Perdita sat down, Snivy's eyes furrowed in suspicion for a few moments, before relaxing. They start to mumble under their breath. "...That's… You remember a name, but not a pack?" Pack? Why would I- Wait, but amnesia isn't targ- He shakes their head before they could finish the train of thought. "Do you remember anything else?"After a few seconds of thought Perdita shook her head.

"I suppose I may as well make sure you're safe first. It's the least I could do," He sighed as they leaned against the cliff, facing Perdita. "Well, guess I may as well try to learn your name while I'm at it." "Perdita… N-nice to meet you." She found them shivering as they shook their body, their fur expanding. "What's your name?"

The green snake looked to the side for a bit. They shrugged, looking back at Perdita. "Huh. I never thought I'd live to see the day someone asked me that.. I just go by Snivy, there's nothing to worry about. There aren't many- Nevermind what I was doing, you probably need a place to stay, right?" Perdita nodded. "Right then… Guess it's a good thing I took too long afterall. C'mon. It'll be dark by the time we get to town. Maybe we can find your pack mates anyway." Took too long? They tilted her head. What's that supposed to mean? You can't just be tossed out of a cave by nothing…

The two would walk for a while along the river before she would speak up. "So, why is it that a… erm… Colourful…bird. tried to eat me earlier, yet you're so… friendly?" "Oh. Probably territorial. Either that or a bandit of sorts thinking you'd have money, but that's a stretch." They finally found the dirt trail he got here by. Snivy would start their way on the trail, the amnesiac Eevee following. They could see the end of the forest from here- Finally. They might see what it's like outside this dark, shadowy forest.

Silence filled the air as they continued on their way. They looked at their new found companion, tilting her head. This 'Snivy' fellow was certainly interesting to say the least- They looked more unnatural than anything they've seen so far. Leaves for hands, a leaf tail, and eyes on the side, all on a reptile with two feet. Truly… Odd. Wait, he doesn't even have anything resembling fingers! How does he hold anything?

"You're sure you don't remember anything at all? What you were doing here, or maybe who you might've been with? Even just one moment of your life?" Perdita looked down at the ground for a few moments. "Still nothing…" It'll come back though…Maybe soon… "Well, I'm sure we'll at least figure out what caused your amnesia. We've got a few doctors in town- They might be able to help." Perdita would stare at Snivy as they walked in short, quick strides, their eyes nearly closed, and their leaf-hands crossed in front of them. "You seem pretty out of it. Wanna talk?"

Snivy shook their head, but otherwise they appeared unchanged. "It's fine…" Perdita would stare for a few more moments before looking away. Pretty cold… "Okay then…" An awkward silence fell upon them as they walked the dirt trail on the empty, grassy landscape that crumbled beneath their feet. A rainbow coloured butterfly would fly off from a flower in the distance, and several blue sheep with white wool frolicked in the fields. Out in the distance, she could see what appeared to be small cabins, all close together, the dark browns suggesting these trees hadn't been debarked. Not one house had a chimney of any kind that they could see, though it still wasn't much.

"Well, it looks like we've made good on time. I wasn't expecting you to be so well off…" Snivy finally spoke up as they walked upon the increasingly wide path before them, observing her as they have since the silence entered between them. As they reached closer to the cabins, it was evident that creatures of all shapes and sizes were walking through the city.

"What do you mean by that?"

"You seemed tired, I guess. Your legs have been shaking ever since we've begun to walk…"

"Huh? No I have-" They paused. He was right. Even now, each step felt forced deep down, and the ground felt as if it still might slip out from under her, just as it had before when she was chased by the seed spitting bird, that they'd stumble and fall face first. "I…Guess I am. I just.. Ignored it I guess."

Snivy closed their eyes for a moment, then shrugged. "Alright. Well, anyway. Let's get you checked in with. Mr and Mrs. Serperior, and, get things settled, and move from there." Perdita nodded in agreement, following behind him.

As they went inwards, the houses and buildings started to become thick, still, white cloth, with cylinder shaped bases and sagging coned roofs held up by thin wooden beams. They eventually came to one such tent that was different from the others, with more of a dome shape than the typical cone roof, the cloth tattered, and torn in several places, and patched up by new poorly stitched pieces of cloth. Two flaps opened up to the inside, revealing a wooden floor, a few cogs rising from the floor, and a metal rod.

"Hey, you're back. What took ya so- Oh? Did you make a new friend? Bout time you did" A pink sheep with long, straight wool on their head and chest stood next to the rod.

"Hm? Oh, Flaaffy, no no no- Not exactly. I found them while trying to complete the contract I was working on is all." Snivy would shake their head while saying this, looking over at Perdita. I mean… Fair enough I guess. It would still be nice if I magically had a friend.

"Alright, alright, I'll stop. What's the deal with this Eevee?" the sheep would walk over, walking around them, looking her over.

"The second time The Winds got me, they jumped into the river I fell into trying to help. Apparently they don't remember anything, so I offered to take them here, and try and help with it"

Perdita nodded. "Yeah, and nothing's come back yet. All blank up there."

Flaaffy nodded, looking at Snivy once again. "Well, guess I'll send ya down. Anyone else behind you so far?"

"Nope. No one I've seen." Flaaffy walked over to the metal rod, outstretching one palm as electricity bounced off of them onto it. Perdita jumped back, falling onto their stomach. "EEK!"

"Jumpy fellow you got there- Hey. It's okay. We don't shock other mons, alright? It's just a silly contraption. Perdita looked up, seeing them having already started to move downwards into the ground.

"Wait- we're… Why not build up there? This seems a bit too complicated." Perdita looked at the iron pillar supports, seemingly smooth without imperfection.

"Well, what if we need to expand? Should we just have twenty buildings on the outskirts, or force people out of their homes? Tents aren't the greatest for large things anyways. Down here we can expand to our hearts content, and as we need to." Snivy explained.

"Oh… I guess that makes sense…" Still seems like it'd be more work but okay… Perdita realized that the circular wall surrounding the platform was not made of dirt, but of stone bricks, stacked on top of one another in such a way that no kind of adhesive was used. How… Should I just ignore how well these are cut?

Eventually the wooden platform would come to a stop. "Alright, you two have fun. Hope ya get your memories back" Perdita nodded, and walked out of the elevator, stepping into a small hallway, the walls now dirt instead of the stone inside, yet the same iron supports lined the hall. Curtains lined one side of the hall, which must serve as doors, and on the other side were lockers. Snivy quickly led them to one of the cloth curtains, pushing through it and revealing two large snakes, which seemed oddly similar to him.

"Snivy? We weren't expecting you so-... I presume this is urgent… " One of the green snakes would eye Perdita. They shivered under their intense gaze as the other looked at them as well. "Honey, could you take care of this? I still have one last report to go through…"

"Of course." The snake that spoke this time had a deeper voice than the first.

"More urgent than I wish, yes… They've lost their memories, and they found me in the forest while looking for the oran berries. Nothing's come back to them yet either…" Snivy stood seemingly at attention, their arms behind their back, the tips of the leaves curling around each other.

"I see. I presume you wish for immediate evaluation from Munna?"

"Yes. They did mention going by 'Perdita' so maybe they belonged to a pack before now…"

"Very well then. Erm… Perdita, follow me. We'll see if this can't be fixed… And Snivy. Wait here."

"I… yes, father."

"Thank you." Mr. Serperior would slither out the room, and it was only now that they realised he also had leaf hands. However, instead of them being similar to olive leaves, they looked more like oak. Regardless, Perdita padded alongside him.

"So… You're Snivy's father, I guess. It's… It's nice to meet you."

"Yes, I am, but it doesn't really say much… We aren't exactly close anymore."

"Why's that?" Perdita looked up at Mr. Serperior.

"I'm not exactly sure. Over the years he's slowly become more distant, and rather focused on trying to help pokemon… It… Worries us. The only reason why we let him join was because he'd go out anyway."

"That seems over protective."

"It might, but he's still a kid, and has a childhood to live. At least this way we're making sure he stays safe."

"Wait. He's a kid?! But he was all alone- surely they'd have a few friends they'd bring along!"

"Mhm. That's exactly what we said." Serperior chuckled. "That was not the case. He still gets along with a select few, but they're either hardly here, or in a squad already. Not to mention they're all adults as well and in completely different parts of their lives as him."

"Oh… I… I see. Guess he's really stubborn, huh?" Perdita looked forward once again.

"You could say that he's quite rebellious, more like. I- Oh- Over here." He entered one of the many rooms in the hallway, as Perdita looked over, bounding after them and falling over through the curtains.

"Yes? How can I- Oh! Mr. Serperior, great to see you! What can I help with today?"

"Well, it seems like we have a case of memory loss. Snivy found them near the Jagged Grove, and came back with them." So that's where I was? I guess there are more cliffs like the one next to the rapids then…"

"Ah. I see. Let me take a look…" The strange, pink and purple, elephant-like creature was levitating over the floor. A pink mist slowly enveloped Perdita, yet somehow it didn't seem to affect her breathing at all. Soon enough, they felt a needle fiddle with their brain. It was a tickling sensation, but with no discernible cause as they quickly recoiled, looking around.

"Oh- Sorry. I should've explained. I'm hoping to find something locked away… But your head… It feels… Empty, and flavourless, like the very air itself… Oh! Maybe this- no, this was too easy to reach…I… I've never seen something like this before. Your old memories… They really are gone…" The mist slowly sank back into Munna's head. "I'm sorry, Mr. Serperior, but there is nothing I can do. However, about the cut on their chest, it should be fine. It must've closed up before they met Snivy."

"Oh? Nevermind- That is quite alright… I suppose it can't be helped…" Wha- What just happened? Serperior would slink closer to the ground. "Well then… I know our next step, if you're willing to stick around…"
