Sorry Ninja in the Web isn't up, when seeing how close I was to this week I decided to work on the others. The only ones I'm not 100% sure will be up is the Star Wars as I got another beta and they have limited time on the computer at the moment and the USM due to still needing to write out 4 episodes.
Apologies for the quality, I hurried this to get it out today.
Chapter IX.
Last Time.
Naruto then turned to see the members of Team CRDL, standing around Velvet with Cardin laughing at her, and Sky Lark holds up his hands to his head in a mock interpretation of her unusual features.
Naruto walked over and stood in front of Velvet. "Better than your ugly mug that even your mother can't stand."
"What'd you say?" Cardin asked standing as Naruto crossed his arms before Vajo and Sunny appeared.
"Team CRDL, report to Ozpin's office, now," Vajo ordered before pulling the team up as Sunny pointed to the door.
While they left, Cardin looked back at Naruto who smiled giving a mock salute.
Now.
Beacon.
"Atrocious. I can't stand people like him."
Naruto got back to the tangle to hear Pyrrha peak up after Cardin and his team left.
"He's not the only one…" Blake spoke up looking over.
Yang sighed sadly as she rests her head on her hand. "It must be hard to be a Faunus."
Having gotten up from the table, Jaune looks back at his friends and sighs to himself before moving on with his tray table.
Later that day, Naruto was sitting beside Velvet on his left with his team at other places in the rows listening to their History Teacher drone on.
He has messy green hair and brown eyes. His attire is disheveled: his white shirt partially tucked into his dark-green pants and its collar raised, showing a slack yellow tie, along with mismatched brown and black shoes. He also has round glasses that appear to be opaque and holding a mug of coffee.
"Yes! Yes, before the Faunus Rights Revolution, more popularly known as the Faunus War-!" Naruto followed him as he zooms up to the front of the class. "Humankind was quite, quite adamant about centralizing Faunus population in Menagerie." He points at the map of the said area with his stick, then zooms off to the side for a sip of his coffee before appearing in front of the desk.
"Now! While this must feel like ancient history to many of you, it is imperative to remember that these are relatively recent events! Why the repercussions of the uprising can still be seen to this day!" He then looks around the classroom more, sipping his coffee again before continuing. "Now! Have any among you been subjugated or discriminated against because of your Faunus heritage?"
Naruto glanced to Velvet who hesitantly raised her hand after another male student did. "Dreadful, simply dreadful! Remember, students, it is precisely this kind of ignorance that breeds violence!" "I mean, I mean, I mean just look at what happened to White Fang! Now, which one of you young scholars can tell me what many theorize to be the turning point in the third year of the War?" He asked before Weiss raised her hand quickly. "Yes?"
"The battle at Fort Castle!"
Oobleck nodded at that. "Precisely! And, who can tell me the advantage the Faunus had over General Lagune's forces?"
"Night vision." Naruto raised his hand at that. "Lagune tried attacking at night thinking they would be asleep.
"That is correct Mr. Uzumaki, Mr. Arc Mr. Winchester, I've noticed you've both have been slacking. Can you both see me after class for additional readings? Now! Moving on!"
When the lesson ends, Pyrrha, Nora, and Ren come out of the classroom, only for Pyrrha to stop near the doorway. "You go on ahead. I'll wait for Jaune."
Naruto and his team walked out and down the hall as Pyrrha waited by the door for her Captain to come out.
Later that night, Naruto was walking down the hall before seeing Cardin at a window in a cleaning closet. "Cardin, get the hell out of there!"
The teen turned and saw Oobleck walking around the corner. "Mr. Winchester, that room is off-limits to students, kindly get back to your room."
Naruto walked to close the door as the teacher walked with Cardin before stopping as he overheard June tell Pyrrha he cheated to get in and declined her offer to help. Closing the door, he walked and saw Pyrrha walking out of the stairwell. "Give him time." He said having her stop as he continued. "Some guys have trouble accepting help."
A Few Days Later.
Pyrrha was sitting in her teams' room with Nora jumping on one of the beds that are pressed together on each side.
"How come Jaune gets home so late?"
Pyrrha looked over at her teammate as Ren was working on one of his guns. "He's become rather scarce."
"That's weird... Doesn't he know we have a field trip tomorrow? We need our rest!" Nora yells as she twirls in midair so her back hits the covers)
"I'm sure our leader knows exactly what he's doing," Pyrrha said turning fully.
Outside, Jaune closes the door, just as a voice interrupts his thoughts.
"Hey, Jaune!"
Jaune jumped at that and turned to see her in her pajamas. "Long time, no see! Did you lock yourself out again?"
"Oh, uh, nope! Got it!"
"So! Where have you been lately?" She asked before hearing a voice.
"Late night training with me."
She turned and blushed as she saw Naruto in black pajama pants and was shirtless. "He asked for help so we've been training at night the hour before we have to be in our dorms."
"Oh, why did you want to keep that a secret?"
"Because Jaune thinks he'll get expelled if he isn't a decent fighter," Naruto replied before walking to his room.
The next day, Forever Fall Forest.
In a forest bustling with red leaves and gray trunks, Glynda is leading the teams SHNN, RWBY, JNPR, and CRDL in their combat clothes through the area."Yes, students, the forest of Forever Fall is indeed beautiful. But we are not here to sight-see. Professor Peach has asked all of you to collect samples from the trees deep inside this forest, and I'm here to make sure none of you die while doing so."
"Each of you is to gather one jar's worth of red sap. However, this forest is full of the creatures of Grimm, so be sure to stay by your teammates. We will rendezvous back here at 4 o'clock. Have fun!"
Later, all the teams are collecting jars before hearing a scream and growl. Naruto dashed ahead followed by his team They got over a hill and saw an Ursa was attracted to the sap being collected attacking Team CRDL. Naruto pulled his pistols off as Haru pulled his sword and placed a stone at the bottom of the blade having it change.
It's now a large metal sword, vertically reaches Haru's torso. It has a rain-guard that is triangular, with intricate patterns embellished on it. The sword has a Musical note at the central axis of the blade. (1.)
He ran over and sliced at it as Naruto jumped over swiping at the eyes before Shiki and Natsu punched/kicked its ribs. Naruto then stabbed it in the eyes with his knives before Natsu jumped off his back and came down for a punch having his gauntlets shoot off part of the bone before Shiki came up and did a crescent moon kick breaking the rest off before Hatsu came down and sliced its head off.
A Few Days Vale.
Team RWBY is walking down the streets of Vale that is being decorated for the upcoming festival. Hearing an engine roar, they turned to see Naruto in his riding clothes driving his bike before seeing them and stopping. "Hey, what are you guys doing here?"
"Going to the docks, you?" Yang asked as she sauntered up to him.
"Taking my bike out for a drive, can't let them sit or it'll seize up."
"Could you give me a ride?" Yang asked before jumping on the back and wrapping her hands around his waist.
Naruto blushed as he felt her chest pressed against his back before speaking. "Sure."
He took off albeit slowly so they wouldn't wait long for the others. Later, the group was looking out at the docks from the street. "Remind me again why we're spending our Friday afternoon visiting the stupid docks?" Yang asked crossing her arms under her bust.
"Ugh, they smell like fish!" Ruby whined holding her nose closed.
"I've heard that students visiting from Vacuo will be arriving by ship today. And, as a representative of Beacon, I feel as though it is my solemn duty to welcome them to this fine kingdom!" Weiss exclaimed before walking away having Blake look over.
"She wants to spy on them so she'll have the upper hand in the tournament."
"You can't prove that!" Weiss said before Ruby looked behind them having the others follow to see two detectives looking at a broken window at a store.
"What happened here?" She asked walking over as one spoke up.
"Robbery. Second Dust shop to be hit this week. This place is turning into a jungle."
"That's terrible." Yang sighed out before the other detective looked at the first.
"They left all the money again."
"Yeah, just doesn't make a lick of sense. Who needs that much Dust?"
"I don't know, an army?" The second one said having the first raise an eyebrow.
"You thinking the White Fang?"
"Yeah, I'm thinking we don't get paid enough."
Weiss crossed her arms at that: "Hmph! The White Fang. What an awful bunch of degenerates!"
"They started peacefully against the inhumane treatment they got," Naruto said before looking at Weiss.
"Either way, it doesn't explain why they would rob a Dust shop in the middle of downtown Vale!" Blake interrupted the two having Ruby look down in thought.
"Hmm... Blake's got a point. Besides, the police never caught that Torchwick guy Naruto and I ran into a few months ago... Maybe it was him."
"That still doesn't change the fact that the White Fang are a bunch of scum. Those Faunus only know how to lie, cheat, and steal." Weiss said as Naruto narrowed his eyes.
"Some of my best friends growing up were Faunus' Weiss. I don't take kindly to you badmouthing them."
"Hey, stop that Faunus!"
They looked back to see a Faunus teen boy running from a ship. He has tan skin with short spiky light-blonde hair and blue eyes. He's wearing two red wrist bracers over black fingerless gloves and an open loose-collared white jacket with no shirt underneath, displaying his muscular physique. He also has blue cargo pants tied up with a white belt. He has white bandages on his legs and has a chain hanging from the belt loop on the right side of his pants.
He has on black and yellow sneakers and a twisted golden necklace around his neck, with a round pendant bearing a monkey emblem. He also has a long prehensile monkey tail the same color as his hair.
He ran past them winking before turning around a corner. "Well, Weiss, you wanted to see the competition, and there it goes..."
"Quick! We have to observe him!"
Weiss, Yang, and Ruby give chase. Blake stands still, lost in thought, then comes back to reality and follows her friends. The team rounds the next corner, but then Weiss bumps into someone and trips. She looks up only to see Sun jump onto a building and disappear from her view.
"No, he got away!" Weiss spoke up before Yang raised a hand.
"Uhh... Weiss?"
Weiss finally sees that she fell on a smiling girl, which startles the heiress and she hastily gets up.
She has short, rather curly orange hair that reaches down to her chin with a small cowlick on top, and a pink bow on the back of her head. She also has bright green eyes, light skin, and freckles. She's wearing an off-white old-fashioned styled off-the-shoulder blouse with frill detailed trim and frill flared cuffs that half-covered her hands alongside copper button detailing on the lower parts of her sleeves.
She also sports a short gray pinafore dress with golden trim on the hem alongside four light green stalagmite styled stripes on the lower half of the dress, two on the front and two on the back, accompanied by two matching colored circles above the tips that had a stripe that ran around her waistline, with golden outlines, and a detachable black and light green collar.
She also has on a pair of black thigh-high leg pieces that seemingly are attached to black shoes. The leg pieces had a single green stripe up the sides that appeared to be lit up.
She smiled widely at them. "Sal-u-ta-tions!"
"Um... hello." Ruby waved as Naruto walked around the corner.
"Are you... okay?"
"I'm wonderful! Thank you for asking."
The team looks at each other in bewilderment before Yang speaks up. "Do you... wanna get up?"
"Yes!" She leaps back on her feet while the team steps back a little. "My name is Penny! It's a pleasure to meet you!"
"Hi, Penny. I'm Ruby."
"I'm Weiss."
"Blake."
"Naruto." Naruto waved as Yang stood next to him.
"Are you sure you didn't hit your head-? Oh, I'm Yang." She greeted after being elbowed by Blake
"It's a pleasure to meet you!" The girl said smiling as Weiss rose an eyebrow.
"You already said that."
"… So I did!"
"Well, sorry for running into you!" Blake spoke as they turn around and start walking away while Ruby waved.
"Take care, friend!"
As they walked a few feet away, Penny appeared in front of them. "She was... weird..."
"What did you call me?" She asked before walking up to Ruby. "You called me 'friend'! Am I your friend?"
"Uuuum… Y-Yeah, sure! Why not?"
"Sen-sational! We can paint our nails, and try on clothes, and talk about cute boys!" Penny rattled off before Ruby leaned over to Weiss.
"Oh, is this what it was like when you met me?"
"No, she seems far more coordinated."
Yang then looked over as she crossed her arms. "So... what are you doing in Vale?"
"I'm here to fight in the tournament."
Weiss then appeared in front of her. "Wait, you're fighting in the tournament?"
Penny saluted at that. "I'm combat ready!"
"Forgive me, but you hardly look the part," Weiss said looking at her attire before Blake rolled her eyes.
"Says the girl wearing a dress."
"It's a combat skirt!"
Ruby speeds over to Weiss' side "Yeah!" She and Weiss then low-five each other.
"Wait a minute." Weiss walks over to Penny and grabs her by the shoulders. "If you're here for the tournament, does that mean you know that monkey-tailed... rapscallion?"
"The who...?"
Weiss then produced a poor drawing of the 'criminal-in-question'. "The filthy Faunus from the boat!"
"Why do you keep saying that?!"
Weiss turns her attention from Penny to Blake at that. "Huh?"
Blake walks over to Weiss, glaring. "Stop calling him a rapscallion! Stop calling him a degenerate! He's a person!"
"Oh, I'm sorry." Weiss releases Penny and motions to objects around her. "Would you like me to stop referring to the trash can as a trash can? Or this lamppost as a lamppost?"
"Stop it!"
"Stop what? He broke the law. Give him time; he'll probably join up with those other Faunus in the White Fang!"
"You ignorant little brat!"
Weiss looked offended at that, but when Blake walks away, she follows. "How dare you talk to me like that! I am your teammate!"
"You are a judgmental little girl."
"What in the world makes you say that?"
"Um, I think we should probably go…" Yang said uncomfortably before Penny pops up behind Ruby, smiling.
"Where are we going?"
"So you admit it! The White Fang is just a radical group of terrorists!" Weiss said gaining their attention.
"That's not what I meant, and you know it!"
Night, Beacon.
Weiss and Blake in their dorm are still arguing. "I don't understand why this is causing such a problem!"
"That is the problem!" Blake yelled having Weiss stand up from her bed and walk over.
"You realize you are defending an organization that hates Humanity, don't you? The Faunus of the White Fang is pure evil!"
"There's no such thing as pure evil! Why do you think they hate Humanity so much? It's because of people like Cardin, people like you, that force the White Fang to take such drastic measures!"
"People like me?" Weiss asked her teammate.
"You're discriminatory!"
"I'm a victim!" Weiss yelled as they stare each other down in silence, Weiss leans in close, leering as she speaks lowly. "You want to know why I despise the White Fang? Why I don't particularly trust the Faunus? It's because they've been at war with my family for years. War, as in actual bloodshed. My grandfather's company has had a target painted across its back for as long as I can remember."
"And ever since I was a child, I've watched family friends disappear; board members executed; an entire train car full of Dust, stolen. And every day, my father would come home, furious. And that made for a very difficult childhood."
"You want to know why I despise the White Fang? It's because they're a bunch of liars, thieves, and murderers!"
Blake then stood up at that. "Well, maybe we were just tired of being pushed around!" Silence drops down as a surprised Weiss backs away slowly, and Blake realizes her mistake as she looks around at her teammates before bolting for the door, running past Naruto.
"Blake, wait! Come back!"
Blake runs outside and arrives at a statue of an armored man with a sword and a hooded woman wielding an ax on an outcropping, staring at the Beowolf under the stone heroes in particular. She closes her eyes and slowly lifts her arms to her bow and pulls the string to release the bow from her hair. She wipes away a tear as the moonlight reveals her black Faunus cat ears.
"You would look better without the bow."
Turning, she saw Naruto was behind her smiling.
