Hello again! I return with another exciting new chapter of All for Us! and early at that, unexpected, am i right?

anyways! down below slightly more details are provided on just what sort of mess Izuku has landed himself in, and some good ol' fashion canon stuff! who doesn't like that?

Chapter 2

A scream tore itself from his throat as he bolted upright into a seated position. His eyes wide and pupils small, they took in his immediate surroundings as long deep breaths tried to slow his rapidly beating heart. He was back in the classroom, back at school, still seated at his desk with the burnt hero analysis notebook right there. How was he back at school? Had that entire thing been a dream? His darker thoughts and insecurities twisted into some nightmarish scenario of his hero not only injured, but crushing his dreams so wholeheartedly?

He could believe it, especially the part where a floating woman had offered him the chance of being normal, of gifting him what his heart ached for all these years. Yet as the gentle sounds of laughter began to fill the empty room, he couldn't help the involuntarily chill sent down his spine at the sound of its familiarity.

I am afraid that it wasn't a dream my little vessel~ You truly did meet your hero, it was with his parting words that your will had shattered so spectacularly! It was really only my intervention that had saved you from that ill-gotten fate.

So it was true, he really did meet All Might. He met the living legend himself, spoke with him, got his autograph, was privy to even his most crippling secret!

Abandoned by him, his dreams crushed, his beliefs utterly broken, all by that single phrase.

"You can't become a hero."

His eyes shut tight as the threat of even more tears loomed all that much closer at the thought. It was true then, his dream really was just childish, how could he be a hero if the number one didn't even believe in him? His former friend, or even his mother for that matter? Who would believe in such a delusional kid like him?

. . .

I'll believe in you, my Vessel.

His eyes shot open as he looked towards the front of the classroom, where her voice was the most prominent. There, in greater detail than before he could see the faint outline of the same black-haired girl that he had seen when falling. Even with her near transparency, he was able to note the slightly more defined features of her face; the freckles that almost matched his own, the tiniest scar just to the side of her left eye, the horns that grew out the sides of her head. Sharpened and turned inwards towards her head, almost reminding him of a beetle's horns.

She also wore a smile as her eyes fixated on his own, one filled with far more kindness than he ever thought possible.

If you're truly disheartened by those close to you not believing in your potential, then I shall happily step into that role. Though, if you're not satisfied with even a goddess believing in you, then you perhaps truly are a hopeless vessel~

That last bit was a tease, at least, he hoped it was. Regardless of its intentions however, it did bring forth the tears he was so desperately trying to hold back. Tears of joy, his mind idly corrected as the girl stepped closer towards his desk. All throughout his life, how he had longed to hear those words uttered by just a single person, just one. Yet not even his mother had said those words to him, not even his mother had believed her son could become a hero.

It was as she stood in front of his desk, did he suddenly remember that he was still at school, with little explanation as to how or why. He wiped away his tears on the sleeve of his jacket, before looking back up to the girl.

"H-how are we back at school? Didn't we meet when I. . I. ."

Oh, right! I forgot to explain that didn't I? while my elder brother doesn't appreciate it, I did step on his toes juuuuuust a tad and rewound time!

His eyes widened a fraction more at the revelation, time manipulation? It made an eerie amount of sense on how things stopped while he was in the air, looking back on it, he was pretty sure he wasn't able to hear the background noise of cars down below when the two had sat there. Those kinds of quirks were extraordinarily rare, almost just as rare as the elusively sought after warpers and their quirks. To be able to stop time, let alone for how long she was able to, was incredible. Let alone being able to rewind time to-

His hands sought out his left pocket, pulling out the phone his mother got him as a fourteenth birthday present. The time on it read as roughly a quarter past three, just minutes after Kacchan had told him. . .

Had told him. . .

Take a swan dive off the roof, maybe if you're lucky you'll be born in your next life with a quirk.

A shudder ran through his body as those words played again in his mind, he had done it, truly and honestly gone through with his cruel words- well, he attempted to at the very least. With his last ounce of confidence crushed, it was only due to quite literal divine intervention that he hadn't died. He should probably be freaking out about that more than he was, all things considered, yet try as he might it was only a calm numbness that he could feel. Why was that?

Oh, and don't worry about a time paradox or anything of the like, events are still playing out with a version of you as we speak!

He wasn't thinking of that, least until she had said it out loud. Wait-

"A-a version of me? W-what?"

Ah, right, that. So the finicky thing with rewinding time is that. . . Uh. . . Fuck, how do I explain this without messing it up? What was it Eon was always saying?

He watched as the outline of her person moved, her chin resting atop her hand as she paced back and forth within the confines of the small classroom.

When. . You go back in time, You don't replace you, instead You must allow the events to transpire as they naturally would have with your other you, while You do whatever it is you've set out to do. Otherwise, You run the risk of irreversibly changing things, and potentially erase yourself from existence. . . Does that make sense?

"Like. . . Back to the future?"

Like what?

Briefly her eyes flashed a brilliant vermillion, the same colour as his own eyes. The pre-quirk era movie resurfaced in his memory, its action and adventure- coupled with its sense of urgency as Marty raced against the clock to undo his accidental tampering with the universe, it was a good film in all honesty. One that he was sad to learn not all had survived the quirk revolution. The first and the third ones had been wonderful, if not creative with the special effect limitations for their time!

Ah! Yes! Like Back to the Future, except we haven't traveled that far back and you aren't at risk of sleeping with your own mother. Instead, you just run the risk of meeting yourself and ruining the chance for us to meet.

That would be just as bad! If not worse! If the two of them hadn't met then they wouldn't even be having this conversation, he wouldn't be sat safely here in the classroom. Instead, he'd likely be just another stain on the pavement that some unlucky community service worker would have to clean up later.

To run into my past self and ruin how things play out would cost me my life, I know that. But what if I could save myself from the slime villain? If what she said is true and she gave me a quirk, realistically I could save myself. Mess up my hair and cover up my face in some way and I could play the role of a hero! I could save myself from meeting All Might and encourage me that everything would be alrigh-

Kid, I wouldn't recommend enacting that plan, also, I think I've set it before, you know you mumble out loud a lot, right?

His cheeks exploded crimson as the girl before him mentioned his mumble, he should probably get better control over that shouldn't he? What if he was doing that in the presence of a villain? Oh, speaking of the girl, what was her name again?

Primus!~ the Goddess of Life and Death. And you, my dear Vessel, are Izuku Midoriya. Age fifteen, only child, and have a slightly concerning obsession over a giant muscular man if what I'm seeing of your room is any indication.

"W-wait what?! How did you know what I was thinking? How do you know what my room looks like?!"

My Dear Izuku, didn't you read the fine print? I'm apart of you now. Your mind is mine to read at any time, your thoughts, your innermost desires, your memories!~ all for viewing at my leisure until the day you die. And in exchange for becoming a part of you, You have. . . I shall say Limited access to my power.

Limited? Why was it limited access? He asked that much out loud, the sour expression that decorated her face was not something he expected.

Well, you won't have access to all of it right away, mortal bodies can't handle it and all that jazz. None of my abilities will really be at full power either for that reasoning. That being said, if the situation seems dire enough, temporary access to my full power will be given. . . At a cost.

A cost? What would be the cost?! Would it be just as bad or worse than movies made out dealing with genies or the devil? Was he secretly contracted to the devil?!

The soft hand that gently took hold of his own said otherwise, at least to his hormones at any rate. He looked back up to her eyes, which were staring at the clock to the side of the room.

Well! Enough of that! We got to get you going! Otherwise, you're going to be late~

His gaze immediately went to the clock, it was almost the time it had been when he jumped. He paled slightly at that, crap, he had to get home! Without another word to the goddess, he booked it out of the classroom, unawares of her transparent form fading in the background.

He raced out the double doors of the school, down the sidewalk that led towards home. He stopped just as he was about to pass the way that led to the bridge, where he was attacked. His eyes glanced down the normal road he took, if he was to squint, he could still see the signs stating the roads closure.

Damn.

With a deep breath to calm his nerves and harden his resolve, Izuku raced down the road that led to the underpass of the bridge. He reached it quickly enough, and sure to the goddesses word it looked as though the battle had already passed. The manhole cover was gone, the hole leading to the sewer open for all to see, with tiny bits of greenish slime here or there. He should probably report the manhole cover missing, shouldn't he? The next officer or hero he saw would likely be the best bet. With that in mind he moved past the bridge, and down the road that would at long last take him home.

Unless of course an explosion came from not too far away. He couldn't help but wander closer towards the blast, his fan boy instincts taking the wheel as he ran forwards into the crowd gathered just outside Tatooin shopping center. It was there his eyes widened behind the crowd, behind the line of pro heros that kept the civilians from getting too much closer.

The slime villain had escaped, and if the random person to his left was to be believed, a hostage was taken.

How long has it been since the villain took the hostage? How were they surviving? He felt like he was going to die after a few seconds! Why weren't the pros rescuing them? Did All Might realize-

The bottle was stored in the pocket of All Mights pants, the same pants that he had held onto and violently shaken when high in the air with his hero. It was his fault, someone was going to die and it was all his fault.

It isn't your fault, Izuku. You cannot control the actions of others.

A voice in his head, a feminine one at that, the goddess. His eyes immediately sought out her form, yet he didn't see anyone matching what he already knew of her. Wait she said she could read his mind whenever, did that mean they could communicate via the mind too?!

Yes.

His excitement reached an all-time high, only to come crashing down again as he locked eyes with the hostage the villain had taken. Blonde spikey hair and bloodshot red eyes, Kacchan.

His body was moving before he even realized what was going on, he was past the barrier of heros, having slid between two before running at full sprint towards the slime. He was immediately noticed, and the slime villain seemed to recognize him, if his angry shout of bloody murder was any indication. A distraction was needed, and conveniently provided as he tossed his backpack at the face.

"ARRH, YOU BRAT! YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT!"

A direct hit to the villain's eye with one of his notebooks allowed Izuku to get in close, without hesitation he began to tear away at the slime covering Katsuki's mouth. It allowed the blonde some much needed air, if the sharp inhale was any indication.

"Deku! What. Are. You. Doing. You. Damned. Nerd?!"

It also looked like it allowed the blonde to yell angrily at him too, it wasn't unwarranted either.

"I'm sorry! You, you looked like you needed help!"

Bakugo's response was cut off as the slime fixed its hold over his mouth, his slime covered arm rose, and detonated a point-blank explosion right on top of Izuku's chest. His school jacket, and the shirt underneath were torn to shreds, his lungs screamed in absolute agony as they burned. He felt something wet inside him, something break, bones if he had any guess as to that.

He was thrown back from the explosion, but caught by All Might by the wrist before he could hit the ground. The behemoth of a man quickly took hold of Bakugo's outstretched second hand, and with a singular mighty punch, defeated the slime villain once and for all!

Oh, and caused a small rain shower on an otherwise bright and sunny day.

All Might's eyes immediately went to Izuku, to the fan boy he had admonished just minutes prior. Who had rushed in to save another even when his fellow pro heros had been helpless to try and save the other kid, who took an explosion of frightening magnitude to the chest. And yet, the green haired boy was fine. Sure, some minor reddening of the skin where the explosion had hit, but he looked completely fine. And if his shocked expression and feeling of his own chest was of any indication, the boy was surprised as well.

You're welcome my Vessel, but I'm afraid this is where we bid goodnight~ I'm tired as all hell, don't do anything reckless while I sleep!

His internal body was healed, that in of itself was a miracle. His lungs didn't feel as though they were burned, there was no liquid feeling in his chest, his bones all felt perfectly fine- if a tad bit sore.

Was this what she meant by giving him a quirk? Apart of her power?

Did she give him a self-rejuvenation quirk?!

Before he could dwell any further on the prospect, he was dragged in front of several of the pro heros on the scene. Death arms and the newly debuted Mt. Lady if he recalled correctly, and scolded over how reckless his behavior had been. A quick glance to the side showed Bakugo being showered with praise by the other heros on the scene, commended over his bravery and his 'heroic determination to break free.'

Sure, because that's entirely fair.

The last stretch of his walk home through the residential district was boring, or supposed to be anyways. Bakugo catching up to him, shoving him against a wall, and growling in his face was not what he would call boring on a regular given day.

"Listen to me you Damned Nerd. This. Changes. Nothing. YOU HEAR ME? I didn't need your help. And I Never Will. So don't you DARE take PITY ON ME."

With one final shove Bakugo left him against the wall, he turned around, and began to walk away. Growling and muttering about this and that under his breath as he did so. It figures Katsuki would get the wrong interpretation from the ordeal, but he didn't- oh who was he kidding? That's exactly how bakugo would react.

With a soft sigh escaping past his lips, he turned to the opposite direction bakugo went, and began his journey home again.

Only to get stopped again as All Might rounded the corner to his left.

"A-A-All Might?! Weren't you busy with the press?!"

"AH HA HA HA! I MANAGED TO GIVE THEM THE SLIP, HOW? BECAUSE I AM ALL MI-"

Cue the puff of smoke and the vomiting of blood, and hysterical tears from izuku as All Might reverted to his skeletal form. With a wave of his hand and a wiping of blood on his sleeve, Izuku's concerns were brushed off by the man. He spoke of being in the crowd, of being reckless over fretting about his time limit, of allowing the villain to slip from his grasp. He was too weak and powerless to save but one person, yet those reasons did not stop Izuku, one who knew of how powerless he was, yet still ran headfirst into danger.

"The greatest pros in the industry all have different backgrounds, different childhoods, but one thing that stands out amongst them all at some point in their early lives-"

"Their bodies moved without thinking, to save someone. . . Just like me. . "

All Might Grinned, he knew it.

"Exactly, and because of that. I deem you Worthy of becoming my successor, of inheriting my power!"

Eh?

"Eh?"

EHHHHH?!

And there we have it!

Will Izuku obtain One For All on top of his new godly powers? maybe, We'll see how it plays out!
