I was at the Order's main headquarters on Valinor as I was being assessed once again. Still, I wasn't used to being probed and prodded on as I saw the babies on screen progressing slightly without any acceleration. It was also the first time that I didn't experience too much stress as I was glad to see this assessment over for now. By the time I was finished, I was ready to return home until I spotted Minara arriving in which he was concerned about my condition, for he had to do his best to comfort me in the most usual way imaginable. Even though I was in my wheelchair, I was wheeled into a hospital room for the night as I had no choice but to spend the night before returning home, for it wasn't fun for me whatsoever. When I crawled into bed, I saw Minara giving me an intravenous drip due to the needle inserted into my arm as he was also aware of what I carried, for he was wanting to tell me about what he went through during my absence.
"I hate assessments," I said as I sighed.
"You weren't the only one, Sam," said Minara.
"I know that I'm not in fine fettle, but when it comes to bearing my babies, I feel a sense of bliss as if my body's growing accustomed to what I've been carrying."
"While yours is blissful, mine wasn't basking in the comfort of candy canes and lollipops."
"What actually happened?"
"After you were hidden in the past two years, I was guarded round the clock in which I felt irritated with being pregnant. Even though we're still at war with the Executive Division, they came up with more creative ways to put a bull's-eye on their target's backs."
I never heard Minara be blunt with me before as I felt guilty for leaving the field while he suffered the full brunt of the Executive Division's ongoing wrath. I should've been there for him when I had the chance. I should've protected him and his family. Still, I couldn't do anything about it as I just kept laying there in my hospital bed, for I wanted to do a little more after all that has happened. What I also didn't expect was that Minara was still feeling where he had the caesarian section as the scar was embedded despite the fact that he was sutured with a laser scalpel. I sensed his emotions clearly as he wasn't just dealing with the loss of his first wife and her father, but with a side order of depression as well.
"It appears that I'm not the only one who suffered from clinical depression," I said.
"I suffered from a lot worse in which I had to be staying in bed all the live long," said Minara.
"You had it rough since Julilla killed Penelope and Lentulus that day."
"Seeing people, both innocent or guilty, triggers me in which it reminds me of what I saw at the hands of that bitch. I keep having flashbacks about it in which I've been trying hard to keep it together."
"And I thought that I had that problem when it came to me suffering from overexerting my raw power…"
"After all that has happened, I wanted to do away with Julilla after what she did to me in which I was on the verge of going dark. I even attacked you in which I wanted vengeance against her for what she did to my loved ones. I may have wounded her to the point of infertility, but you helped to finish her off when she became more of a monster when you destroyed Project Ra."
I saw Minara rolling up his sleeves as he still had the motto that he inscribed on his arm. The words, "Nemo me impune lacessit," remained on his arm as he also had the familiar inscription, "Non timebo mala," on the other. Like me, he also went through hell as he could never forget about what happened to him when it led to the birth of Sayoko, for he knew of the details very well indeed. Still, he had to keep moving forward as his duty to his family and to the Order were on the line in this time of war...
One year ago on Claudius…
Minara was busy in his office as he was looking at the recent attacks that came from the Executive Division. Ever since the destruction of Project Amaterasu, every planetary government was on edge in which Minara was doing his best, but under strict watch. By the time he finished up, he was ready to call it a day in which he noticed his children playing a game of Candyland in the playroom. He didn't mind it as he was ready to go to his room in which he spotted Mizuwa sitting on the bed the moment she felt at his stomach in which the baby he was carrying was starting to kick, for it was almost time for the dreaded caesarian section in the long run.
"There's another kick," said Mizuwa as she felt Minara's baby moving around.
"Normally, it would be you that's carrying the baby, but I'm stuck with her," said Minara.
"There's a reason why you're carrying our baby in which I've been suffering from Tabata Syndrome for a long time now."
"I've heard about it. The malady itself is named after Hiroyuki Tabata, who was one of the founders of the Medical Corps like Silas Yock. Tabata Syndrome has affected women who carry the gene throughout their bodies. Sadly, there's no cure for it, but if our baby is born without it, then I'll use its afterbirth to develop a cure so that no other woman will have to suffer from the throes of infertility."
BOOM!
Without warning, a blast shook Minara's home as he rushed out of his room and saw a platoon of soulless dolls charging towards it. He never saw anything like it before as he noticed Liesel standing behind her soldiers in which she was wearing nothing more than black lingerie with a matching pair of boots and a cape. She was on the warpath as she was more than willing to get rid of anyone who had close ties to the Order, for she also viewed him as a threat and a thorn to her side in this ongoing war.
"Hear me, Minara Mitani!" she yelled. "You may have close ties to man who was part of the House of Varus, but he also had the blood of Elkins in his veins just like your soon-to-be ex-wife!"
"You leave Mizuwa out of this!" he yelled. "She has nothing to do with this!"
"It's time to take out the trash!"
"Yes, yes it is!" yelled the soulless dolls in unison.
"As I recall, you have become an abomination and all abominations will be crushed!"
"Yes, yes they will!"
"I won't be intimidated by the likes of you!" yelled Minara. "I won't let you do this to me or my family!"
It wasn't long until Minara saw a group of young soulless girls screaming as he noticed them exploding where the blast hit the wall. He was running out of options until he saw a familiar car zooming towards his home in the distance. It was the Impala as he spotted Dean driving towards the group of soulless dolls the moment he arrived just in time. Minara never expected him to be there as he changed into his diamond form the moment some of the soulless dolls were ready to fire their weapons on him. Liesel never expected him to be there as she was screaming with rage the moment she drew out her own guns to shoot.
"Go after him!" she yelled as she pointed her guns towards Dean.
The soulless dolls were ready to do Liesel's bidding as they circled around Dean in which they were ready to strike. Dean was surely holding his own as he shot diamond projectiles at some of the targets that were circling around him like a pack of lions. More and more kept coming as the captain of the Hunter Corps' seventh squad was ready to stop them soon enough, for he wasn't having it. What the soulless dolls didn't expect was that a high-pitched sound emanated all over the place as the group began to fall one by one the moment Jack arrived to assist Dean the moment they noticed several Ketch machines coming towards them. Dean used his diamond projectiles to shut some of them down, but Jack finished the rest as Liesel left running in the distance with only a fraction of her platoon leaving with her. With the threat averted, Dean was ready to retrieve Minara as he wanted to make sure that the latter was alright, for his safety as an Elder of the Order mattered first.
"Lord Minara is in no further danger," said Jack.
"I know, but that bitch from the Victoria's Secret catalog won't stop until she makes a mark on the entire galaxy," said Dean as he reverted back to his normal form. "Getting Minara and his family to safety comes first."
"Liesel has been on the warpath since her brother was killed in the failed attack on the Order's main headquarters on Westeros last year. Still, I've wanted those to make their own destinies, but there's one being that's even more powerful than my grandfather and others before Him. Therefore, the child that Lord Minara carries will be one of many who will put a stop to the one known as the Arbiter. It is she that meddles in things a lot more than your past self in both the Elder Days and Middle Days respectively."
"As I recall, Liesel lost her brother at the hands of Cass after he baited Sawney Masbath to catch Sam and lost when the Sol-3 got blown up."
"You must protect Lord Minara…, Captain. His child is vital to put a stop to the Arbiter."
Dean saw Jack leave without a trace as he rushed towards Minara's home in which he spotted him standing there after all that has happened. Even though he was still at odds at the latter for attacking me during the incident with Project Ra, he had no other choice but to protect him at all costs.
"You were supposed to be on Shiganshina," said Minara.
"So the cavalry arrived late in the game," said Dean.
"I know that Sam's not here, but his location is classified at the moment."
"I know, but he's not the only one who has to pull his weight in this ongoing war."
It wasn't long until Minara felt a stabbing pain as he was clutching at his stomach. He wasn't expecting the baby to come out soon as he fell to his knees. He had to be taken to a hospital as Dean rushed to his aid the moment he was hurting all over.
"You gotta be kidding me," he said as he saw Minara crying out in pain. "Looks like the bun in the oven won't wait!"
"Just get me to a hospital, damn it!" he cried.
"Well, the Medical Corps is very busy in which they're standing on pins and needles right now tending to the wounded."
It wasn't long until Dean safely took Minara as he shoved him into the Impala in which he drove towards the nearest hospital. He had to take him to safety as he drove on the dirt roads in which he later noticed a man standing there the moment he stopped the car. He sensed suspicion in the man as he got out of the Impala. What he didn't expect was that the man who was about to become roadkill flashed his eyes to a glossy black as he was ready to do some damage, for he had orders from an unknown player in this ongoing war.
"My boss wants Minara up front," he said.
"You're not laying a hand on him!" yelled Dean as he changed into his diamond form.
"Oh, look at Dean Winchester! Such a cavalier approach just to go all hero while taking an abomination like Minara."
"Minara's off limits, asshat! You're not doing a damn thing to him!"
"As I recall, I've been exorcised three times and now that I'm corporeal, I can do whatever the fuck I want, especially when I up and give your friend the time of your life!"
It wasn't long until a sniper bullet was fired as it shot towards the demon in the arm. What Dean didn't expect was that Desna was there as he was armed with his sniper rifle in which he fired several more shots into the demon's arm the moment he scurried off, for he was outnumbered by the bullets from Desna sniper rifle. The demon himself was injured, but not out of the fight yet as he fell into a ravine in which he clung onto a floating log while speeding to a waterfall for now. With the threat averted, Dean saw Desna put away his sniper rifle and rushed to aid him into getting Minara to a hospital, for the latter was going into labor and fast.
"We need to get Lord Minara to safety," said Desna cautiously.
"Yeah, but we're not in the clear yet!" yelled Dean.
"Just do something, please!" cried Minara as he was still feeling more labor pains.
Dean and Desna hauled Minara towards a cave as they made it from harm reach. They didn't have any medical tools until they noticed a familiar face hiding from the danger of the platoon that invaded Claudius. It was Chiaki as she was saw all three taking refuge here, for she had a bad feeling that Minara wouldn't make it with what he was carrying inside of him.
"Captain," she said as she got out a medical kit. "I called for a ship to take Minara and his family out of here."
"He's not gonna last long if we don't cut him open!" cried Dean.
"The medical kit that I have has a laser scalpel, surgical scissors, and some gauze."
"The captain and I have first aid kits," said Desna. "As soon as we safely deliver Minara's baby, the better we get help from the Medical Corps."
"I bet that you don't have any hot water or towels around, do you?" said Dean.
"I have a gallon of water and some towels with me," said Chiaki. "Let's hope that Minara pulls through."
"Just get it out of me!" he cried out as he was screaming in pain.
Dean pulled no punches as he gently set Minara down on the rocky ground after a blanket was put there earlier. Unveiling Minara's top robe, Desna noticed his stomach experiencing labor contractions as he was concerned about what could happen next. Dean, on the other hand, crafted a diamond projectile into a scalpel as he decided to cut open Minara like a turkey the moment he gently sliced where the baby was about to come out of. He noticed him screaming while he had a washcloth gagging his mouth as Desna propped him up carefully. Chiaki was on hand to deliver the baby as she had a towel in her hands. When she noticed a black head emerging to where Dean cut Minara's stomach open, she gently took the baby out of there as she used the laser scalpel to cut the umbilical cord the moment the afterbirth was later placed into a container for scientific use. By the time she gently wrapped the baby up in a towel, she later used the laser scalpel to seal Minara's stomach up as he was still in pain the moment he heard the newborn's cries clearly. Dean was more than glad that the baby was safe as he noticed Chiaki give the newborn to Minara, who was still being propped up by Desna, for he wanted to see it in person.
"It's a girl," said Dean.
"She's beautiful," said Minara as he was exhausted.
"The Elfling looks like Mizuwa, for she has Elkins blood like me," said Desna.
"What should you name the baby?" asked Chiaki.
"Her name will be Sayoko," said Minara as he was still in pain. "Mizuwa and I decided on that name…"
It wasn't long until a Medical Corps ship arrived as it landed near the cave. Dean was vigilant to protect Minara at all costs until he saw Reuben arriving the moment he noticed Minara holding little Sayoko beneath his white tunic as if he was keeping her warm. What he didn't expect was that Minara was simply enacting a motherly instinct the moment he began to nurse the newborn that he carried, for he refused to give it to the Executive Division nor their allies in this ongoing war.
"We need to get Minara out of here," he said.
"Ditto," said Dean.
"The nearest hospital is in New Capua," said Desna. "The captain and I will take the Impala there."
"We'll take everyone, including the Impala," said Reuben. "Besides, Dean would go apeshit if he abandoned the car here. As for Minara and his baby, they're going to the intensive care ward in which they will be monitored after we heard about the activity with the demon who tried his damnedest to sabotage the birth."
And so, everyone was on board as they would soon go towards New Capua due to the hospital that is there. The birth of Minara's baby was an omen in which every monster and zealot was worried about the downfall of the Arbiter in which she was the one who kept everything to her own advantages over the past, present, and future. It was a tough task, but protecting the future was far more important than anything, for it was vital to stand up to the Arbiter and those who aided her on the sidelines…
Minara was in a hospital room as he was exhausted from giving birth through the caesarian section. With an intravenous drip giving him some pain relief and an anesthetic to numb it, he was sitting up as he noticed Sayoko sleeping in her little bassinet next to his bed. When he turned on his side, he smiled as he saw the baby dressed in a pink onesie and a matching pink swaddling blanket in which he wanted to hold her very badly. Just as he was about to do so, he heard the door open as he saw Mizuwa entering in which she noticed Sayoko sleeping the moment she yawned. She looked a lot like Mizuwa as she had her black hair and blue eyes while sporting silver tips on her tiny ears, for she not only inherited the Elkins blood, but Minara's Nephilim abilities as well.
"I'm grateful that you're alive," said Mizuwa as she saw Minara weeping tears of joy.
"Our baby is here, my love," he said to her.
"The captain told me about how he cut you open with one of his diamond projectiles, which was dangerous. I even heard Dunya chewing him out over that."
"She can get over it, but—" he hears Sayoko waking up as she began to cry in her bassinet. "—Our baby just woke up…"
Mizuwa gently picked up the baby as she handed her to Minara in which he opened his robe to expose his chest in which his pectoral muscles were more like a male bodybuilder's, but with breastmilk instead of muscle mass from weightlifting. It wasn't long until he noticed Sayoko latching onto him as she began to eat her fill. Even Mizuwa was impressed as she noticed Minara being patient with the newborn, for she was the future that she wanted, even if it meant that it was carried inside of a man instead of a woman.
"You're a natural with her," she said.
"I know, but normally, it's the women who breastfeed their babies," said Minara.
"You did very well in which the afterbirth was saved just like you promised."
"I wanted it saved just to do my research to find a cure for Tabata Syndrome. I know that you suffer from it, but I won't let any other woman suffer to the point of being infertile all their lives."
"You do so much, but I can't carry our future in a damaged womb like mine."
It wasn't long until Minara finished feeding Sayoko as he began to burp her in which she was fully content with what she ate. When Mizuwa picked her up, she saw her to be very beautiful as she was also blessed that she had Minara's Nephilim abilities, for she was a future that was meant to exist after all…
Meanwhile, back in the present…
I was in the cafeteria as I was eating a bowl of fruit cocktail in which I was also wanting a little more protein after this. Like Minara, I was also feeling irritable while being pregnant as I also wanted to go back to Skald Island so I would resume my convalescence. It wasn't long until Minara entered into the cafeteria as he got his fill of lunch, but he was eating a bowl of chicken noodle soup with some bread the moment he sat at the table I was in, for he wanted to know about my convalescence during the two-year absence that I had after the destruction of Project Amaterasu, for I had to tell him soon enough.
"It seems that you've gotten the fruit cocktail," he said to me.
"I haven't had breakfast yet," I said as I finished up my food. "Still, we both have to pull our weight when it comes to delivering our babies that were foisted onto us, even if it meant by carting the burden to term."
"If you ever get a chance to deliver my future niece and nephew, let's hope to the gods that Dean doesn't cut you open like an stuffed turkey."
"He cut you open?"
"He did, but Chiaki was on hand to seal me shut after I delivered Sayoko in which it was too painful for me. He was also protecting me from Liesel's troops at the time, but I really didn't enjoy his method of caesarian section when it came to using one of his diamond projectiles to do it. Dunya was pissed at him when I heard her screaming at him until she was told off by Reuben about the demon who tried to kill me."
"He saved your life in the end, along with Sayoko's. He and his past self are two sides of a coin in which they often go and do the impossible."
"I read some of The Winchesters books in which the epilogue of Hey, That's No Way to Say Goodbye showed the Arbiter waiting to make her move to keep everything that happened to the Winchesters of Old in its place, even when she unleashed Chuck Shurley's creatures into the past to eliminate them in the Middle Days known as the Akrida. The Arbiter is far more powerful than the Terran God, but not as powerful as her father, Pendragon, who sees her as a threat. The future events are now in motion, but we can't let the Destiny of Worlds fail."
It wasn't long until Reuben entered into the cafeteria in which he was having his cup of coffee and a cranberry scone to tide him over. He noticed me and Minara there as he was most likely to be checking up on us in which we were vulnerable due to what we have gone through, but I was still carrying mine, for we also suffered from the effects of depression as well.
"It seems that the two of you have been talking about the aspects of fatherhood in reverse," he said.
"You weren't the one who had the bun in the oven, but I was cut open like a stuffed turkey," said Minara as he took a bite of his chicken soup. "Luckily, I lived, but I had to spend my days taking care of Sayoko after I recovered from the caesarian section from hell."
"From what I know is that the baby will be vital in the future in which after we put a stop to Project Helios, stop the Executive Division, and end this war."
"What are you talking about?" I asked.
"The Arbiter is watching everything play out just like she did in the Elder Days. She will stop at nothing to prevent the good guys from saving the day so she can use what she has in her advantage. The only person who stood against her and lived to tell the tale is none other than Mother Akemi herself. Still, we may be going up against the Executive Division, but the real puppeteer of this neverending scenario is watching in the distance somewhere, for she's afraid of the future striking her down."
I was staring at Minara as he had to protect what was slated to go against the Arbiter in the future. As for my own packages, I clutched at my stomach as I felt them moving inside of my body in which they would soon play a part into aiding the future against the foe who would be next to be stopped after we end this ongoing war. It wasn't long until I felt the twins moving restlessly as if they were getting more gluttonous than normal, for I had to feed not only myself, but the unborn that I carried as well. When I went to the food selection, I grabbed a tray as I spotted a selection of many foods that were there in which I spotted some baozi that were carefully made along with some wangmandu and some karaage chicken that was there on display in which I paid for all three before returning to my table, for I was craving what was there instead of the infamous vegan diet that I was once subjected to.
"I take it that the little ones aren't just wanting the fruit cocktail," said Reuben.
"I can't help it," I said as I took a bite of one of the baozi on my tray. "This is good. At least the little ones won't be cranky while I eat."
"Sometimes, the protein can do a number on you," said Minara.
"At least I'm eating more than just the typical rabbit food. The little ones get restless if I don't give them their usual protein in which this cavalcade of meat can keep them in check until I eat a little bit more again."
"I bet that Reiko would fatten you further like a turkey once you get home."
"Reiko…"
I remembered her giving birth to Samantha and Mary-Rose during our stay on Matarote Island a year ago as I also remembered Dvora giving birth three months prior. The memory of it all was something that clung to me as I would soon endure the pain and joy of childbirth through a caesarian section, for I was also dreading it as well…
Matarote Island, Westeros; One year ago…
I was tending to the garden in the fortress as I was also trying not to do too much. It was a warm April day as I was planting some of the vegetable seeds that would soon be grown and harvested in the near future. Even though I missed being on the field, I was barred from returning after my battle against Sawney Masbath and the destruction of Project Amaterasu last year. By the time I finished up with the garden, I saw Reiko sitting on a bench as she was clutching at her stomach in which it was swollen just in time to give birth next month. What I didn't expect was that Dvora was there as she was taking care of her young son, Hajime, who was Elven on his father's side. We all had our good days on the island as I couldn't wait until Reiko gives birth, for I was elated to see another set of twins coming our way.
"It'll be soon until our little ones come out," I heard Reiko say as she was touching at her swollen stomach. "Both of them will be girls, I know of it."
"Anaira was about to have a panic attack while he hovered over me while I gave birth," said Dvora.
"Anaira worries about you in which he fretted when you were kidnapped by that demon a year ago."
"He worries, but he also refuses to leave our side after I told him about the Sol-3 getting blown to bits."
"Don't forget, I worry about you more than anything," I said.
Reiko continued to touch at her stomach as she got up from the bench in which she felt something leaking down her legs. She was afraid that she accidentally wet herself, but I sensed that it was more than that as I saw her clutching at her stomach in pain. Her water broke as I saw the wheelchair that I was using and wheeled it towards her. I couldn't leave her side as I saw her sit down in the wheelchair the moment I took her to the infirmary wing. I spotted Anaira and Mason coming to our aid as they were dressed in surgical scrubs the moment they saw Reiko gasping in pain, for she was ready to give birth at any moment.
"This is like last time," said Anaira as he was concerned about Reiko's pregnancy.
"Pregnancy is no walk in the park, that's what Ma told me," said Mason.
"Let's hope that Reiko's okay," I said as I was very worried.
"Reiko will be fine, Sam. Besides, she's strong in which she'll birth those little ones out."
I saw Anaira and Mason wheel Reiko into an operating room as I watched from the hall. I was praying hard for her to be alright as I wanted to see our new twins like everyone else. When I went to the waiting room, I sat down on the couch as I continued to pray further for Reiko's health and safety. I wanted to see the little ones as I later heard the sounds of two babies crying the moment I saw Anaira burst out of the room with joy, for he was glad that the new ones were out without further difficulty.
"You have two little twin girls in your family, Sam!" he yelled.
"Twin girls?" I said.
"They look a lot like both you and Reiko in which they're the newest arrival since my little Hajime three months ago."
I got up from the couch as I rushed to the operating room in which I saw Mason wheeling the newest set of twins in bassinets while covered in pink blankets. I was also overjoyed to see Reiko alive as she was also being wheeled out of the operating room on a stretcher. I was elated as I saw my family cared for while being on Matarote Island, for I wanted to see the new arrivals soon enough. Life was great for me as I was surrounded by positive hope while recovering from my battle last year, for I was blessed to see things filled with joy instead of misery for once…
I went towards Reiko's hospital room as I saw her laying down on her bed in which she was also feeding one of the newer twins. The sight of the little girl's light brown hair on her head reminded me of Zoran's birth as she also had a jeweled sigil on her forehead. The other girl, who had blond hair and jeweled sigil, started to fidget as I gently picked her up and went to the rocking chair while I comforted her, for she was very delicate right now.
"Hello, my little one," I said as I looked at the baby.
"It seems that Mary-Rose hasn't cried yet," said Reiko.
"Mary-Rose? Is that the name for the little one?"
"It is… Her sister, who is ten minutes older, is named Samantha to honor your memory."
"I'm glad that they're born, for they are the best thing that happened during our stay here on this island fortress."
I smiled warmly as I was happy to see Reiko here with me, along with the new twins. I was blessed to see things go a lot better as I was there with my latest blessings, for they were what gave me hope while I lived on Matarote Island during my long furlough…
Meanwhile, back in the present…, again!
I was in the main hall of the Order's main headquarters on Valinor as I was ready to return home to Skald Island. Even though I was carrying my little ones, I was still using my wheelchair to get around as I went towards the Medical Corps ship that was parked, for I was ready to leave when ready. Just as I was about to do so, I saw Miriam standing in front of me as she was not too happy with me for not being there when everyone needed me the most in the past two years. Like Maro, Miriam was also determined to force me to return to the field as she was refusing to budge, for she wanted me to up and bend the knee in the very form of hell I've experienced in my prolonged convalescence.
"It's time for you to return to the field, Sam," she said to me.
"As I recall, you attacked me with the butt end of your sniper rifle, only to see it broken," I said.
"Let me remind you that you have an obligation to put an end to the Executive Division, but you continue to be pissing the whole year sitting on your ass!"
"Let me remind you that I nearly died when I put an end to Sawney Masbath in which I even destroyed Project Amaterasu two years ago. I was recovering, but I was forced back in the battle half-cocked and not recovered up to full."
"You haven't learned your lesson, did you, Sam? You don't know what has happened in your absence, do you? Many innocents died because of your negligence, but your personal lackeys have been cleaning up your messes since you fled with your tail between your legs."
"I hate to break it to you, but my health isn't the only concern right now." I slowly stood up from my wheelchair as I was feeling at my stomach where my unborn twins were kept. "For the record, I am with child in which Jack Kline put them there so that I wouldn't be forced to go back on the battlefield until I recovered up to full."
Miriam was both shocked and appalled as she saw me still touching where my babies were being kept. She believed in the natural order of seeing women with children and enduring childbirth, but she viewed men carrying pregnancies to term an abomination in which she was eager to rectify it. When I saw her get out an angel blade, she was ready to attack me as she was ready to kill not only me, but the babies as well, for I didn't want it to happen right now.
"How dare you?!" she yelled as she pointed her angel blade at me. "How dare you challenge the natural order of things in which all women were slated to carry children to term. Men only have the spare parts by distributing their seed to craft what they wanted, but they weren't meant to be carrying them!"
"Say what you want, but I won't let you harm my babies!" I yelled.
"I will cut you open like an animal carcass and even kill what you bear, Sam! You destroyed the sanctity of womanhood by mocking every single women by being with child?! No, I won't let this abomination continue! The sanctity of having women bear children will be maintained and no one else will interfere with the natural order of things!"
It wasn't long until Jack appeared out of nowhere as he shielded me from Miriam's attack. I noticed him creating a force field around us as we saw Miriam displaying an angelic aura the moment she was ready to attack until Seto intervened at the last minute. We noticed her taking away the angel blade that Miriam had as she wasn't having it, for she would stop at nothing to protect me from all danger in this ongoing war.
"You still haven't learned your lesson, did you, Miriam," she said.
"Sam should be punished for carrying an unborn child to term when it comes to the women doing it!" she yelled. "He has violated the sanctity of womanhood and now he has to pay!"
"Sam's off limits, Miriam," said Jack as he dissipated the force field. "I know that every single humanoid has their own destiny, but I had to put his own unborn children into him so he wouldn't go back on the battlefield at half capacity. He stopped one of the worst blackmailers in which the overexertion of his raw power nearly cost him his life. Are you willing to refrain from forcing him back on the field or do you have to wear the same collar like your demon collaborator, Maro?"
I couldn't let Jack take the hit as I saw Miriam take out a hex bag that had an explosion sigil on it. Just as she was about to throw it, I used my raw power to generate a collar that was worn by Maro as it burned her the moment Jack rushed and retrieved the hex bag. Miriam was defeated as she was trying to remove the collar from her neck, but to no avail, for she had it coming when she was there to kill me for carrying my twins to term.
"You're just as bad as your father, Lucifer!" yelled Miriam as she was wincing in pain.
"I shifted the unborn children that Sam and Reiko crafted into the sire so that he wouldn't be forced to go on the battlefield," said Jack.
"Those babies will be killed along with the sire! Nature always wins out in the end!"
"Bitch, please!" said Seto as she punched Miriam in the face. "First, you force Sam to go on the battlefield and now you want to cut him open like a pig? For now, you're under the mercy of not only the Destiny of Worlds, but the King of Heaven in front of you. He had his reasons to shift gears by transporting the unborn into Sam's body, for he's still recovering from what happened to him in his battle against Sawney Masbath two years ago."
"This isn't over, Sam!"
It wasn't long until Miriam disappeared without a trace as I was relieved to be alive once more. When I sat down in my wheelchair, I was clutching at my babies as I felt them moving restlessly within me. I sensed the stress in them as I was calming them down in which Seto and Jack were concerned about my overall health. I had to do something as I also had to make sure that my babies were alright and out of harm's way first. I couldn't bear it when my little ones were scared in the womb as I was gently massaging at my own stomach as a means to calm them down, for it worked after all.
"Shh…, it's alright, my little ones," I said as I felt my babies returning to a calmer state.
"They'll be fine, Sam," said Jack. "Therefore, you stood your ground and even stood up to Miriam."
"She was trying my patience in which she was itching to throw a hex bag at you. I couldn't let you take the hit, so I put a collar on Miriam as punishment for trying to force me to return to the field against my wishes."
"You have a strong desire to help those other than yourself, Sam. You also adopted the teachings of Ippei Mitani, who displayed kindness in his arsenal of internal weaponry. I also caught a glimpse of his wisdom in which he told me that the future is neither set in stone nor put there freely, for it is a thread that is forever tangled in the strings of life itself."
"Before you say any more crap, you better get back into the infirmary wing," said Seto as she was wheeling me back into the main hall of the Order's main headquarters. "Reiko will know eventually in which she's there just like you were for her when she took down that religious zealot back on Baratheon. As soon as you're finished with your assessment, the better you feel."
I was feeling more calmer as Seto wheeled me into the main hall with Jack following from behind. Still, I had to watch over my babies as I had to do more to protect them from harm. I had so much that was given to me as I felt at my stomach in which I vowed to bring them into the world in which Reiko would be there to greet them once they were born, They were my little ones as I had an obligation to take care of them, but I also had to deal with the obstacles that were in my way, for I couldn't sit around and pussyfoot while everyone else was pulling their weight in this ongoing war...
