I'm imagining people wondering why on earth I'd make a Power Rangers crossover of all things. Well my train of thought went something like this. Ok I want to make a fanfic what should it be? I like crossovers it should be a crossover. Percy Jackson that's a good popular fandom that hasn't been done to death. ( At least not like Harry Potter or even more sickeningly Naruto) But what should I cross it over with? It should be something off the beaten path, what's the silliest series I can think of, and I had the exact same thought I think most people would.

SpongeBob.

But I thought no that's too silly I wouldn't be able to do a serious plot I need something with some stakes to it. I don't know what it says about me that Power Rangers was my first thought after that. My second thought was, by George, that's just crazy enough to work.

Rookie in Red

Leo Corbett POV

Holding the Quasar saber in my hands I swung the sword out in front of me slashing the air.

I tried to imagine what Mike would do in my place. The saber had been meant for him not me.

"You've never really used a sword before have you?" Somebody asked.

Looking around trying I tried to figure out where that voice came from when I heard.

"Up here." It called again.

Looking up I saw a college age guy sitting on a thick tree branch thirty or forty feet off the ground. "Your keeping your arms too straight, you'll tire yourself out faster." He said effortlessly jumping to the ground. "Your name's Leo right." He added.

"Yeah, who are you?" I asked immediately preparing for a fight.

Seeing this the stranger snorted. "Isn't it supposed to be nice to introduce yourself before asking me? Besides if I'd come to pick a fight we wouldn't be talking right now. Not to mention that there'd be dozens of Stingwingers buzzing around." Before I could consider that. The stranger somehow cut the distance between us faster than I could blink he flicked me in the ribs with his finger and added. "Your keeping your guard too low. As for who I am I guess you don't recognize me without the armor I was wearing when you got that fancy sword of yours."

Wincing slightly at the surprising strength behind this guy's finger, I racked my brain thinking about that day and remembered the figure in silver armor with Furio that did most of the fighting. Evidently seeing the spark of recognition in my eyes he said. "This wont mean much to you but for whatever it's worth I'm sorry about your brother."

You think I'm just gonna take your word for it. I asked pointing my saber at him.

Giving me a exasperated look he answered. "Now your guards too far up. Flicking me in the ribs again I winced as he continued. "And do you really want to fight me again? Despite getting some cheap shots in, it didn't go that well last time with all five of you. As for a one on one."

My blood ran cold as I realized that he had a point. But before I could figure out a response he continued. "I actually tried to save him you know. I went crawling around in that crevice. I thought that if I found his body maybe I could've saved him with the advanced tech they, I mean we have, but I couldn't even find his body."

"Wait what, why not?" I asked.

He just shrugged in the universal sign of I don't know.

"And another thing." I continued. "Why do you look so…"

"Human." He finished. "You'd be surprised how many species look like you." He grimaced and frowned as if remembering something unpleasant. "The Aquatians for instance," his face grew fonder for an instant as he added. "Not to mention Tra-, well that's not important." He cut himself off hastily.

"Why are you here?" I asked not sure what to make of this meeting.

"Honestly." He said "I came to talk to you."

Seeing the look of confusion on my face he continued with a sigh. Scorpius won't let what happened go unchallenged do you even know what you're fighting for out here.

"Is that why you're here to avenge your friend?" I asked.

The other guy grunted and said. "I already said that I wasn't here to fight, as for Radster I wouldn't say that he and I were friends." He let out a sigh and added. "But he did liven up the place."

"Wait that Elvis wannabe?" I asked. I could've sworn I saw the merest twitch of his mouth indicating the start of a smile when I said that. But that couldn't be right could it?

Not knowing what else to say I asked. "Do you know what it's like to lose a brother"

"I technically have several brothers." He said slumping down against a nearby tree. "Most of them have have tried to kill me at one point or another. But honestly there is one who was always on my side." Letting out a long sigh he added. "My younger brother, I haven't seen him in years if something happened to him." He shook his head.

I struggled to imagine a world as violent and messed up as he described.

"But circling back to you Ranger, I'll ask again do you really think your brother would want you fighting for revenge."

I held the Quasar Saber and looked up at the tip of the blade. "Probably not." I admitted. "But all I have left of him is this sword he pulled."

This guy was oddly easy to talk to, but there's only so much you're going to tell someone you just met. Especially an alien that could very well decide to gut me if he wanted. What I didn't tell him was that Mike and I were all each other had growing up, and now I was desperately trying to figure out how to measure up to him.

Giving me a sidelong look like he had a pretty good idea of what I was thinking, the guy in question let out a long frustrated sigh. "There's no love lost between me and Scorpius. But I'm pretty much stuck with old tentacle face until he either kills me, or magically turns over new leaf." He said voice dripping with sarcasm at that last part.

"If that's the case then why are you working for him?" I asked.

"Because I don't have a lot of other choices." He answered. "But you guys do, this isn't your fight."

"What's the alternative then! Just hand over the Quasar Sabers." I challenged voice rising.

Actually I was thinking you and your friends should go home.

"Huh?" I oh so eloquently replied.

"When did I get to be the one who explains stuff." He muttered. "I mean you should go back to earth. Eventually there will be shuttles going back and forth between here and Earth. All you guys have to do is lay low until then."

Slowly I asked. "Can you honestly tell me that Scorpius wouldn't come to earth looking for the Quasar Sabers?"

Pausing to consider his response, he let out another sigh. "It's complicated." He finally answered.

"I'm not going to just walk away and give up." I snapped.

"Why?"

I considered what I wanted to say, a moment later I finally said. "Because it's not what Mike would do."

Scowling briefly he stood up and said "Alright then. Since I get feeling that nothing I say is gonna change your mind there's only one thing I can do. Upon saying that last part a bronze sword appeared in his hand.

And what's that? I asked raising my saber and preparing to defend myself.

"Your swordsmanship is, well nonexistent." He started. "I have far too many deaths on my conscious already. So if you're set on being some kind of hero. I'm going to make sure that you at least know how to swing that sword." He finished pointing with his own blade.

"What?" I asked this meeting had been full of surprises, but I never would've expected that.

It didn't take long for me to wish he'd just kill me what followed was possibly the most grueling thing I'd experienced until then. With every mistake he'd smack me with the flat of his blade. He tried to explain different thrusts and jabs, but that quickly went over my head earning me several new bruises.

"Okay." He was saying. "This next technique is difficult to learn but it's saved my life more than a few times. This move is to disarm an opponent." He continued explaining. The idea is to use the flat of your blade to twist your opponent's sword out of their hand.

Wearily getting back into position I raised my sword in what I'd already learned the hard way would be a meaningless guard. At this point I was drenched in sweat and breathing heavily, so I didn't put up any resistance when he used me to demonstrate in slow motion and sure enough the Quasar Saber clattered to the ground.

"Pick it back up. We'll go until you either pull it off or one of us has to leave." He said leaving no room for argument.

Ours swords clashed again. This guy's definition of teaching was just repeatedly performing the move on me again and again. I was getting fed up, and the saber was evidently reacting to my emotions again and started glowing, red tongues of flame coming off the blade.

Seeing this my opponent immediately swung his sword striking me in the ribs with the flat of his blade with enough force to not only knock me over, but send me rolling on the ground as well.

Looking down at me the guy said. "You need to learn to reign in your emotions." Shaking his head in disgust apparently at himself, he added. "Or at the very least keep me from saying something like that again."

As I was struggling sit back up I saw him bend down and pick something up from the ground to examine. "An unusual drachma. Where did you get it?" He asked narrowing his eyes as if reevaluating me.

With a start I saw it was the gold coin that the old woman on earth had given me. It must've somehow fallen out of my pocket when I was sent tumbling.

What you know a lot about earth money? I asked.

"Answer the question." He said the look on his face changing. Before he'd seemed relaxed and easy going. He now gained a stare like a hungry wolf's.

I answered fast. "An old lady gave it to me to give to her cousin. And said I'm supposed to say whatever happened wasn't his fault." I sighed. "But I have no idea how I'm supposed to know who to give it to though."

Staring at the coin a minute longer he pocketed it and replied. "Don't worry I'll make sure it gets were it needs to go." His tone leaving no room for argument.

"What are you going to do." I asked.

Instead of answering he just said. "We've been at this long enough I'm going head back."

"Will I see you again?" I asked.

His face turned grim for moment as he said. "Pray that we don't. Because the next time we meet will likely be on the battlefield. I don't think you and your friends would survive that."

And on that ominous note he vanished in a crackle of green lightning.

Looking towards the city I prepared for the long trek back. This experience had made one thing clear though, I needed to get stronger, better, more like Mike.

Percy POV

Heading back towards the shuttle bay I stopped and examined the drachma that I'd gotten. It's design was different from normal gold drachma's. One side depicted an owl's face the other the branch of an olive tree.

Athena? I wondered.

For the first time in a long time I allowed myself to think about home. No that wasn't true I thought about earth all the time and what might happen to it if Scorpius had his way. Or even worse, what would happen if he didn't get his way.

Looking at the drachma I wondered why Athena sent it. Better yet why she employed the red ranger before he even was the red ranger? Did the olympians know about the rangers? I shook my head. The Rangers were mortals who didn't belong in this mess. They didn't deserve to have to fight otherworldly creatures who wanted them dead.

The red ranger Leo. I honestly wasn't quite sure why I'd trained him, but it made remember when I first trained at camp with Luke. Thinking on it, he reminded me a lot of me, when I'd first started at Camp Half-blood.

Entering the hangar I was jolted from my thoughts when I heard a certain someone ask. "Where have you been?"

Looking over I saw Trakeena leaning on her staff.

I had to choose my answers carefully here. She and Scorpius definitely wouldn't approve of me paling around with the rangers. Let alone training one of them, and staying on Trakeena's good side was how I stayed, well I was pretty sure her father didn't have a good side but she could certainly keep me off his worst side.

"I went down to the planet for some fresh air." I said even then knowing that wouldn't satisfy her.

"Mhmm." She hummed before pointedly asking. "You know that armor lets us track it, and listen in on its surroundings, right?"

My face paled rapidly hearing that.

Her grin widening she said. "Relax, my father hasn't seen it, and I made sure to delete all the data."

Sadist. I thought, knowing that she liked to see people sweat, especially me. Letting out a relieved sigh I answered. "Thanks."

"Hmm." She hummed coming closer. "For your sake though, I'm hoping this is part of some plan to get close to the rangers.

I had to proceed very carefully here. The usual half answers and deflections I used in my dealings and negotiations with other power hungry despots on behalf of Scorpius wouldn't work on her. After all Trakeena had been the one who taught me about the art of manipulation as she called it.

"I'm keeping my options open." I answered neutrally.

Leaning in and tracing patterns on my chest she whispered in my ear. "Just think of the favor you could get by being the one to bring my father the Quasar Sabers." Switching to my other ear she added. "And what it could possibly mean for you, me, and us." With that said she strode out of the hanger bay, likely heading back to her fathers chambers.

I thought on what she'd said. Despite not being a fighter Trakeena had kept me from getting killed out here far too many times to count. Being romantically involved with her had added to that number thanks to her father. Though despite it all she was my only ally on this ship. But that was honestly unsurprising given my life. She did have a point though. If I got the sabers Scorpius would likely look on our relationship a lot more favor. Maybe? I had hard time imagining him in a good mood. Even then, the thought of giving Scorpius something with that much power made me sick.

Letting out a sigh I looked over at the nearby bug fighter. Suddenly the idea of fighting an army of murder bots was sounding a lot better.

3rd POV

Leo had tiredly dragged his bruised and battered body back to the city and met up with his friends. Who of course questioned why he was in such a state.

"What happened to you?" Kendrix asked as she fussed over him putting salve on his assorted bruises and scratches.

"I was training." Leo started before being interrupted.

"Training?" Questioned Kai.

With I don't know how many bruises, scrapes and a cracked rib? Asked Damon rhetorically.

Those aren't the kind of injuries you get from working out too hard. Added Maya.

"If you'd let me finish." Continued Leo. "You remember that guy with Furio we fought."

"Dude in silver armor who was beating us into the ground kinda hard to forget." Deadpanned Damon.

"Yeah, well he showed up." Explained Leo.

I take he wanted the Quasar Sabers. Asked Kendrix.

"Not exactly, he said he was there to talk." Continued Leo

"What?" Asked Maya surprised.

Nodding Leo continued. Craziest thing was that he looked human, said he wanted to know what we're fighting for. One thing led to another and the next thing I know he's trying to show

me different sword moves." Looking down at his bandaged chest he continued. "Emphasis on trying."

Wait! This guy looked human? Questioned Damon.

"To be fair shapeshifters wouldn't be that much of a stretch at this point." Observed Kendrix.

"He was talking like it was natural, but yeah a shapeshifter does actually make more sense." Leo agreed.

"You really think you can trust this guy?" Asked Kai.

"I mean he didn't even tell you his name." Added Damon.

"Didn't seem like he wanted to kill us." Leo defended.

"So is he going to keep training you? Or the rest of us?" Asked Maya eagerly.

"No such luck." Leo answered.

"Well I don't like it we already have one wild card running around the colony. We don't need another showing up." Said Kai.

"I've actually been meaning to ask you guys about that." Said Leo. Do you think we did the right thing with Valdez?

"Well." Started Damon. "Seeing as he was willing to keep us in the dark for the sake of a pinky swear.

"And flew us directly into a nest of Scorpius' minions." Finished Kai. "If it wouldn't raise too many questions about us then he'd be in prison."

"Are you still on that?" Questioned Maya.

"It's not actually against the law for a civilian to build a spaceship." Kendrix said looking around at everyone. "I double checked."

"What I meant was." Started Leo trying to refocus his friends. We barely knew him could we really expect him to tell us everything.

"Leo you specifically told him that we didn't need to know everything about him." Said Maya.

"And he still didn't say anything." Said Damon.

"Even after we'd told him everything about us." Grumbled Kai.

Kendrix crouched down to be eye level with Leo and said. "You made the right call Leo."

Leo still didn't look convinced. Even if logically he knew everything the others were saying was right. Internally he wondered if Mike would've made the same decision.

The next day

In a secluded alleyway Furio met with the monster Horn. Horn had scaly skin that was a toxic shade of yellow and a gray trench coat seemingly fused to his flesh. His most noticeable features however were his elaborate head crest and the horns/antenna that were attached not just to his head but his shoulders as well.

"Many have tried to get the Quasar Sabers." Furio was saying. "What makes you think you can?"

"Weapons are my expertise." Said Horn opening his coat flap. "Especially rare ones."

"The Transdaggers!" Exclaimed Furio reaching for one.

"Hands off!" Snapped Horn closing his coat.

"Where did you get them?" Interrogated Furio. "They have great power."

"If I can get these." Said Horn opening his coat again. "I can get the Quasar Sabers.

"Excellent." Said Furio before grimacing. "Unfortunately you'll need to be more cautious than normal seeing as lord Scorpius is trying to maintain an alliance with Earth." He said disgusted before adding. "For now."

"I understand." Replied Horn.

"Do not fail me!"

"I won't."

Kai POV

Heading into the GSA's planet side headquarters I took a moment to watch as the construction crews worked on the space elevator. The metal they were using had originally been part of the dome that had protected the city from the vacuum of space. Most of the elevator was already complete and folded up within the station in orbit but there was still a lot of work that needed to be done planet side. Already the tower was over ten stories tall and still growing. When it was finished it would stretch all the way from the ground to the space station. Besides landing the city, attaching the two segments would unquestionably be the most difficult task the colony would undertake.

Walking in I immediately headed upstairs where commander Stanton was waiting on the view screen to give out the day's assignments to the gathered officers from his place on the station.

Alright Mr. Chen. He said turning his attention to me. "There's a new recruit who's come to my attention. He seems to have great leadership potential. Miss Morgan should have made sure the results of his entrance exam are on your desk.

Looking the folder my eyes widened when I saw the test scores in question. "His aptitude tests are off the charts" I said surprised.

Nodding Stanton continued. "That's why I want you to train him." Turning slight to a different screen on his end Stanton said. You can go in now Mr. Corbett.

Recognizing the name my eyes immediately snapped to the door as Leo came in. "Leo!?" I sputtered.

"Kai." He replied smiling.

"Good you two know each other, I look forward to a progress report. Carry on gentlemen. Stanton signing out." And with that the screen went black.

"So… where do we start?" Asked Leo eagerly.

Looking back at the test scores again as I tried to process this turn of events.

Later

"See to it that these rare specimens are to be sent to hydroponics." I explained to Leo as we moved though the science lab. "The temperature and humidity have to be kept constant. "So make sure…" Turning I saw that Leo had left my side and was approaching the other side of the lab where Kendrix was working at a microscope.

"Hi Leo. How's the training going?" She asked with her usual cheer.

"Oh it's…" he started to answer.

"Badly." I answered turning to Kendrix. "He has trouble focusing."

Striding over to a nearby bookshelf I grabbed a GSA Manuel and held it out to Leo. "There are rules and regulations you can start by studying them."

Gun range

As Leo and I watched GSA soldiers train on the range targets I tried to give him some advice. "Make sure you sight down the barrel, like this." I explained showing him the scope. "Keep your arms straight and focus on the…" Looking at Leo I realized he was only paying half attention and was instead watching the others to see how they were doing.

"Leo are you even listening?" I asked annoyed.

"Yeah, sure." He said absently before realizing that is his turn and rushes to the line takes aim and fires. My jaw practically hit the floor as he hit all three targets hitting the bullseye on all of them.

The surrounding soldiers started cheering and applauding, as Leo smiled and took a bow. Meanwhile I just shook my head.

Later at the end of the day we were the ones with the responsibility of stowing all the weapons back in the armory. Making sure all the rifles were placed on the racks and all the crates filled with other equipment are stacked neatly.

"Here's the security card." I said handing the key to Leo. "Lock up when you leave. I'll see you back at headquarters.

I was walking with Kendrix afterwards venting my frustrations.

"He has no respect for the rules." I started. "He's late to everything, his uniform is wrinkled. I'm gonna tell the commander to have somebody else train him."

"Kai." Said Kendrix stopping us. "Maybe your overreacting. So he's a little undisciplined. So he doesn't follow the rules perfectly. But when it really matters, he comes through no matter what." Before diplomatically adding. "Maybe, just maybe, you're a little jealous."

I scoffed. "Jealous!? Why? Because he scored high on the written test. Or because he shot out all three bullseye? I couldn't care less.

A rumble of thunder sounded over head.

"Storm rolled in quickly." Obseered Kendrix looking at the horizon.

I looked down at my watch and grimaced. "I need to get back to command and check in on Leo. I'll see you later. I said before hurrying back to HQ.

Rushing back to command I found Leo chatting with several other guys who left almost as soon as I came in.

"Hey Kai." He said with his usual chipper attitude.

"Listen Leo." I said pulling him in close. "There are rules and regulations for a reason."

"Not all rules work all the time." Argued Leo.

They do when you're in the GSA. Around here you can't just pick and choose which rules you want to follow.

Just then an alert lit up on a nearby console. Quickly reading through it I turned back to Leo. "Security breach in the armory." I said. "You did remember to lock up right?"

"Yeah." Said Leo confidently, and pulled out the card and handing it back to me.

"Come on." I said grabbing him. "We need to see what's going on."

3rd POV

The pair of rangers arrived at the armory and quickly saw the problem. Guards and soldiers were strewn about unconscious. The door to the armory was barely on the hinges and there was a large claw mark on the electronic lock.

"What happened here?" Asked Kai tentatively.

Examining the claw marks on the door Leo turned and said. "I'm not sure. But I have a suspicion that it wasn't a friendly ET."

"Right you are." Said Horn somehow appearing behind them. "The weapons here are horribly primitive. Unworthy of my collection. But I think you may have something I want."

"Whoa!" They both shouted both rangers hands instinctively going to the sabers on their belts.

"This one's even uglier than that Elvis guy." Said Leo.

"Yes, Now give me those Quasar Sabers." Said Horn.

"Not happening!" Yelled Leo.

Looking at each other both rangers nodded their agreement.

"Go Galactic!" They shouted morphing into their ranger forms.

"Ah, the Quasar Sabers." Cackled Horn.

As the rangers began circling Horn looking for an opening. The monster drew a compact laser pistol from his coat at a speed that would've made an old west gunslinger proud.

"Let's see how fast you are." He laughed as the rangers dove for cover as he peppered the walls with plasma.

Rolling back to his feet Kai pointed his saber at Horn. "We need to be careful or we could end up bringing the entire building down." He said.

"Right." Leo affirmed with a nod.

"Right!" Exclaimed Horn just as he aimed his weapon at Kai at lightning speeds and fired. Blasting him into the wall and leaving a vaguely human shaped indent.

"Are you ok?" Asked Leo worried.

"Ow." Groaned Kai barely conscious.

"Mine!" Shouted Horn with a malicious glee as his arm rapidly stretched out to an incredible length and grabbed the cross guard of the red Quasar Saber. "This belongs to me now."

This saber isn't going anywhere. Growled Leo as he struggled to keep his grip on the weapon even as Horn tried to retract his arm.

"We can't both have it." The monster hissed. "And it wasn't meant for you."

"Yeah, well it wasn't meant for you either." Countered Leo.

"I'm not letting go!" Spat Horn.

"Neither am I." Declared Leo.

"Enough of this." Growled Horn as he yanked on his stretched out arm pulling not just the Quasar Saber but a still attached Leo sucking them both into what must've been some kind of extra dimensional space in his coat.

"Leo!" Groaned Kai struggling to his feet.

"The red ranger." Said Horn patting his coat. "Now that's a new weapon." He laughed. Glancing down the hall he saw some of the guards he'd assaulted earlier were starting to regain consciousness. "Another time!" He growled before porting away.

The remaining rangers sat around Kendrix's quarters listening as Kai told them what happened.

"It's not your fault Kai." Said Kendrix gently once he'd finished explaining.

"What are we going to do?" Asked Maya.

"We need to find away to get Leo back. That's what we're going to do." Declared Damon.

Scorpius wants all the Quasar Sabers. That creature you fought, he's inevitably going to be coming after us." Said Kendrix.

"If we find that alien we find Leo." Said Kai looking up.

"Assuming they didn't take him back to their ship." Said Maya sullenly, and with that the grim mood returned.

Suddenly Kendrix's computer dinged and an image appeared on the screen, causing everyone to gasp.

A few minutes earlier

Meanwhile back in an unwatched industrial area Horn met with Furio again. After making sure there were no humans or cameras watching.

"Do you have them?" Asked Furio gruffly.

Cackling Horn answered. "Behold the first of many trophies." With that he opened his coat and pulled out the sword he'd taken and the the red ranger back in human form and wrapped in chains.

"Only one?" Challenged Furio.

"I would've gotten the blue one as well but you said to avoid fighting the human authorities." Snarled Horn.

Furio just grunted not wanting to concede the point.

"My friends will-" Leo started to shout before Furio quickly covered his mouth.

Leaning down Furio hissed at Leo. "Your friends will fail. Just like you." Standing back up he looked at Horn and added. "Especially now that we have live bait."

Horn just cackled and put the saber back in his coat.

Already in ranger form the others rushed through the industrial area. They all tried not to think about the picture they'd seen. The image on the computer they'd seen had showed Leo bound to a light pole in chains. Nobody questioned how they'd sent the picture but it had clearly shown the location. It was obviously a trap. But it was one they all knew they'd have to spring.

"Guys!" Someone shouted.

"Leo!" Yelled Maya as the group rushed to where Leo was trapped.

"Guys!" He yelled. "You have to get out of here. It's a trap."

"Yeah we kinda figured that." Damon deadpanned.

"And yet you were still foolish enough to walk into it." Said Furio appearing in a blur of electricity surrounded by stingwingers. "Give me your Quasar Sabers if you want to live."

"Never gonna happen." Said Kendrix even as she nervously tightened her grip on her Saber.

Leaping, Kai slashed through the chains holding Leo, just as Horn appeared on one of the surrounding rooftops this time carrying a high tech sniper rifle. Taking aim he began lining up a shot.

"This is not good." Grunted Damon, right before a blaster bolt struck his chest dead center, throwing him back and knocking him out of morph.

"Uh!?" He mumbled as his consciousness lapsed.

"Damon!" Shouted Kendrix rushing to check on her friend.

"Not so fast!" Said Furio jumping between them and bringing his sword down forcing Kendrix to stop and raise her saber to block it.

The battle had begun.

"Hold still you brats." Horn hissed under his breath as he looked through the scope.

The rangers were trying to fend off the stingwingers and Furio while protecting Damon. They were moving around too much and somehow managing to always duck or dodge behind a stingwinger anytime Horn did get close to lining up a shot.

"Those two's luck will run out sooner or later." Horn thought maliciously. "Wait where'd the other two go?"

The answer came almost immediately, when a faint creak came from behind him as the door to the roof opened.

Rapidly spinning to face the newcomers, Horn was met with the red and blue rangers. Kai was suited up but Leo was unmorphed without his saber.

"Ah so we meet again." Said Horn lining up his rifle again.

Acting on instinct Kai rushed in front of him and before the alien could react, cut his rifle in half part way down the barrel.

"What no! That was mine!" Squealed Horn stumbling back.

"You have something that belongs to me." Declared Leo.

"Your gonna pay for that weapon! With your lives!" Yelled Horn reaching into his coat.

"Not this time!" Said Kai as he sliced at the flap of the monster's coat.

"Gahh!" He shouted as the red saber clattered to ground.

The alien's arm shot out quick as a whip to stretching to try and grab the saber again. Even as Leo dove for it himself.

"Got it!" Leo exclaimed rolling and jumping back to his feet even as a red light enveloped him. Leo landed on his feet back in his ranger form.

"I took you two down once, and this time I'll add you both to my collection." Said Horn reaching for another weapon.

This time will be different. Said Leo, and promptly tackled the monster off the roof.

The fall was only four stories but that was more than enough to hurt and daze Horn.

Nimbly backflipping to his feet, Leo pointed his sword at the downed monster even as Kai landed impossibly lightly beside him.

"Guys!" They heard as Damon and the girls rushed over. They're suits especially the girl's were covered in soot stains.

Damon are you alright?" Asked Leo upon seeing his friend morphed again.

"I was out of it for a minute there." Said Damon as he pulled on the material covering his chest. "But it turns out these silly suits can really take a beating."

"But that won't save you!" Declared Furio as he and the stingwingers caught up.

"Grrrr!" Growled Horn getting back to his feet. "I'm not leaving here without those sabers."

Looking at his friends Leo asked. "Can you guys handle these guys? Kai and I have unfinished business with this freak."

Maya nodded. "Go get 'em."

"Looking to the stingwingers Horn shouted." "What are you waiting for get them!"

As the three of them were swarmed by the foot soldiers, Horn reached for his blaster again and was stunned when the red ranger jumped in front of him and grabbed his arm.

"You need to learn some new moves." Said Leo.

"Let me go!" The monster squealed trying to pull himself free.

"Ok." Leo said releasing his hold on the alien's arm and immediately slashing at him unintentionally cutting off his coat flap.

"My collection!" Shrieked Horn in alarm, stumbling back from the strike even as the Transdaggers clattered to the ground.

Horn instinctively shot out his arm stretching it, trying to grab the piece of his coat.

Not this time!" Said Kai as he was sailing through the air. Bringing his sword down even while impossibly hanging in midair and severing the alien's hand.

"No no no!" Horn shrieked as he desperately clutched at the stump of his hand. As he retreated back into the host of stingwingers, Furio grabbed Kendrix's arm and threw her out of melee and back towards the other rangers.

"Kendrix!" Maya and Damon both shouted rushing to her side along with Kai and Leo.

"I'm alright." She muttered even as she got back up on shaky feet. "What are those?" She asked seeing the piece of coat holding the colorful Transdaggers.

"I don't know. They came off that ugly freak." Said Leo holding them up for the other to examine. Everyone's sabers began to glow and vibrant.

"And I'll be taking those back!" Said Horn pointing his blaster at them with his remaining hand.

Furio's sword crackled with red energy, as he strode forwards stingwingers parting around him like the Red Sea. Where as Leo's blade was fiery, but warm and comforting, the aura around Furio's sword was blood red and malevolent.

As Furio flung the energy from his sword the rangers all dove for safety. Each instinctively taking the Transdagger that matched their color.

"Hold still you pests!" Yelled Horn spraying the area with plasma shots even as the rangers dashed at what should of been impossible speeds for a human.

"You've been shooting at us all day." Called Kai, as the others regrouped around him.

"You rangers have been a thorn in my side." Furio said striding forward, stingwingers landing and surrounding the team. "But this is the end for you."

"I think it's time for you guys to get a taste of what it's like being shot at." Said Leo as they all, acting on instinct they thrust their transdaggers forward in a star like formation the weapons glowing.

"Oh no!" Shrieked Horn.

A blast of energy like a miniature sun roughly the size of a beach ball flew out from the center of the transdaggers, vaporizing Horn and the stingwingers closest to him in an instant. The explosion was powerful enough to send Furio flying several yards.

Getting to his feet the general glared at the rangers. "This isn't over." He growled before teleporting away with the remaining stingwingers.

The rangers stood there quiet looking around at the numerous small craters and scorch marks many of them still smoking. None of them knowing what to say.

Finally it was Damon who broke the silence. "Why does this feel anticlimactic?"

Leo POV

GSA HQ

The next day

As I was leaving the command room I heard somebody call behind me.

"Leo, hold up."

Turning around I see Kai running up behind me.

"Hey Kai." I said. "Look, I'm sorry I was so hard to train."

"Impossible is more like it." Kai said jokingly.

"You know what?" I challenged. "I'll bet you ten bucks that I'm never late for duty again, and that my uniform will never be wrinkled again, ever."

You couldn't win that bet in a million years. Kai said confidently.

Sure I could. I answered smugly. "I just resigned."

"What? Why?" Asked Kai stunned.

I let out a long sigh before I answered. "When I was stuck in that aliens coat pocket." And wasn't that a weird sentence. "I realized that I'm not my brother." The look on Kai's face told me to continue. "I realized that by trying to hold on to Mike I put the rest of you in danger. If I keep trying to be him…" I trailed off shaking my head. "Mike should've been the red ranger not me."

"As much I'd like to get into that, it'll have to wait. Kai said. "What I wanted to ask you, was if you'd heard any rumors about what happened from the enlisted personnel."

"No. Why?" I asked. "Did the other officers say something?"

Kai's face was grim. "Nothing specific. But we really left a mark on the industrial zone. Not to mention the guards who were attacked. Everybody knows that aliens were involved.

"Everyone already knew about the aliens Kai." I said. "All you need to find their ship half the time is a telescope."

Undeterred Kai continued. "A lot of people are angry saying we should take action. Stanton said he would do something but he's keeping his cards close to his chest."

I heard what Furio said play again in my head and said aloud. "This isn't over."

"We have a second set of mystical relics now." Said Kai. "Of course they're not going to just let us keep them."

Nodding I continued. "We can't just give up and go home not if people are going to get hurt and we can do something to stop it."

You won't have to do it alone. Apart of the GSA or not, your part of a team now." Said Kai extending his hand to shake.

I took his hand and we shook.

So this chapter contains a very subtle bit of foreshadowing. But I'll be very surprised if anybody finds it without hindsight. I realize there's a lot of foreshadowing in this chapter but I have a very specific bit in mind when I ask.

And can I just say ugh fight scenes, though I can take solace in the fact that lots of other people on this site say the same thing.

Now on to other business.

The author stares across the desk at an insect like monster.

"So what is it exactly that you can do for us mister Gasser?" I ask.

"Well I can release a highly effective knockout gas that can put entire starship to sleep."

"But what about a city in the open air?"

"Well uh."

"I thought as much, this organization will not tolerate such uselessness." The author says clicking a button on the desk, causing the alien's chair to dump him backwards into a newly opened trapdoor into the furnace.

"Aaaah!" The Gasser screamed while falling.

"Your fired."
