It is the halfway point of Season 1! So it has to begin as so, I don't own Yu-gi-oh! If I did, Shay would have destroyed Yuya in the final arc of Arc V.
"Come on, Slacker! We have to hurry!" yelled Chazz to Jaden was a tiny bit behind him as they were running towards Duel Academy, running past Zane on the way to the shore, due to the fact that their monsters felt a presence in the infirmary that wasn't welcomed, so they ran towards it with no stops.
"I am, man! It's not my fault that you are faster than me!" yelled Jaden as they were finally out of the forest of Academy Island, but they knew that they had to be faster. They can feel, the presence, stronger by each passing second, as then he had an idea, "Chazz! I have an idea!"
Chazz stopped in his tracks as he looked at Jaden in the eyes, "What is it? It better be a good one since we stopped running."
Jaden nodded as he took out his deck and his duel disk, Chazz looked on in shock. He can't be serious about this, "How about we send our monsters to the infirmary, since they are faster than us, and they protect Yusuke from the intruder before we come in the room? How does it sound, Chazz?"
Chazz stood there for a second, before he grinned as he took out his duel disk and deck, "About time you have a decent idea," he said as he readied his duel disk, "Alright let's go!" Chazz summoned his Don Zaloog, X - Head Cannon, A - Assault Core, Armed Dragon LV5 and Ojama Yellow while Jaden summoned Winged Kuriboh, Elemental HERO Flame Wingman, Bladedge, Terra Firma and Stratos.
They all looked around before the winner of the School Duel announced, "Alright, I know you are confused, but listen up!" all of the monsters then looked directly to the two Slifer Reds.
"In the infirmary there is someone in Yusuke's room that isn't welcomed and we want you to protect him from the intruder!" Every Duel Spirit nodded at Jaden's words, knowing what they wanted to do.
"What are you guys still standing here, go to the infirmary and protect Yusuke!" commanded Chazz as all of the monsters began running to protect Yusuke, faster than him and Jaden.
"We won't disappoint you, Boss!" yelled Ojama Yellow.
"No way are we going to do that when he has the leader of the Dark Scorpions, me! Don Zaloog!" yelled Don as Armed Dragon LV5 roared in agreement with the two Light Machine monsters made robotic noises that sounded of agreement with Winged Kuriboh cooed in with the rest of the Heroes staying silent, like they always were.
Chazz sighed as looked at Jaden, "This better work, Slacker."
"I know that you don't believe in that plan so far, but my gut is always correct when it needs to be!" said Jaden as placed his closed fist on his chest as Chazz looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
"But not in tests, huh?" he asked as Jaden dropped his head, chuckling at his rival's reaction.
"Let's just go and save Yusuke, ok?" Jaden asked as Chazz patted him on the back, "Sure. Let's go then!" Both of them began running towards Duel Academy.
At Yusuke
"Who are you, and what do you want with Master Fujiwara!?" yelled Honest as he readied his wings, ready to strike at the unknown person for even daring to touch Yusuke when he was in bed.
"Who I am, is none of your concern, Duel Spirit, for my plan requires me to target a former Shadow Rider, so if you excuse me…" said the cloaked individual as he began walking towards Yusuke with chemicals in his hands for a specific formula of erasing memories, but then a feather flew towards his head to which he dodged it with quick succession.
"Oh? So you want this to be difficult?" asked the cloaked person as he began the formula as he began dodging feathers left and right, "Very well then."
As the person kept dodging the attacks from the duel spirit he thought that this wasn't difficult at all, since he fought much tougher opponents. A feather that was behind him flew towards the wings of Honest, but the cloaked person predicted it.
The cloaked person was doing flips and after flips, avoiding every single attack coming from Honest as he stopped doing his formula and placed it on a table. As he continued to dodge the feathers, for the first time, he was caught off guard when Honest went towards and punched him in the face.
The cloaked person looked at his hand, and an unshowable grin appeared on his face, "Never expected for a duel spirit to do physical damage." he said to himself as Honest appeared in front of him with every single feather he could muster.
"Stand down now, or this will end badly for you." warned Honest, but unfortunately for the duel spirit, the cloaked man laughed.
"Stand down? That was only a warm up," he stood up and a duel disk, black coloured instead of white, appeared on his arm and a deck appeared in his hands.
Before he could even place his deck in his duel disk, both of them heard someone knocking on the door, "Knock knock!" They looked at each other with confusion, but then the door was kicked open by the leader of Dark Scorpions, the Dark Warrior himself, one of Chazz's ace monsters, Don Zaloog.
"I am sorry for interrupting you two, but the Boss wanted us to protect Yusuke, and I don't want to disappoint him so here we are! The Leader of the Legendary team organization, the Dark Sco-"
"I am sorry to interrupt you," Don Zaloog turned to Jaden's favourite Hero, Flame Wingman, who for the most part was silent the entire time, "But I think it would have been smarter if we just attacked him before introducing each other."
The rest of the Heroes, Armed Dragon LV5, the Light Machines, Winged Kuriboh and Ojama Yellow agreed to that. Don dropped his head right before looking at the cloaked person, "Alright, good point, but we shall continue our mission! Charge!"
All of the monsters began charging at the cloaked person as he tried to place his deck in his duel disk. He dodged the fury punches of Armed Dragon LV5 and Terra Firma, small, but effective laser beams from X - Head Cannon and A - Assault Core, wind slashed from Stratos, cutting from Bladedge, scratches from Winged Kuriboh, small upper punches from Ojama Yellow, bullets from Don Zaloog, flame balls from Flame Wingman and feathers from Honest.
He dodged them with difficulty, the only real hits he got were the feathers from Honest and punches from Ojama Yellow. They were only targeting the cloaked person, making small damages in the room that could be fixed. While he was dodging the attacks from Terra Firma, he ducked at the right time for the Earth Hero to punch Armed Dragon LV5, making the Wind Dragon stammer a bit as it gave the cloaked person the right amount of time to place the deck in his duel disk.
He readied his duel disk, much to the duel spirits horror, and took out 5 monsters from it and placed it in his duel disk. The monsters he summoned were Golden Homunculus, Gren Maju De Eiza, Helios - The Primordial Sun, Helios Duo Megistus and Helios Trice Megistus.
All of the duel spirits that were protecting Yusuke began fighting the monsters summoned by the cloaked person, due to them being the bigger threat than the cloaked person. Flame Wingman, Stratos and Armed Dragon LV5 began fighting Golden Homunculus, Ojama Yellow and X - Head Cannon fought Helios - The Primordial Sun, Don Zaloog and Bladedge fought Gren Maju De Eiza, Winged Kuriboh and A - Assault Core fought Helios Duo Megistus, Terra Firma and Honest began fighting Helios Trice Megistus.
The cloaked person walked towards his chemicals and then towards Yusuke. He began making something that would make him forget the Shadow Riders and Nightshroud. He then heard two Key Keepers running towards the room, but they will arrive for at least 10 minutes.
He grinned sinisterly.
At Camula's castle
As the rest of the Key Keepers arrived at the entrance of the Vampire Rider's castle, first a wooden door that was opened automatically, then something out of the ruins that the students went on a field trip and then a shrine.
The word terrifying was an understatement. The place made every movie look like a doll's house, with the dark chilling air that could freeze anyone in place, sending shivers down on even the toughest of soldiers. The atmosphere was that of an old dungeon that was unexplored in centuries, but gave the feeling something cursed. The lighting itself was terrifying as it only revealed the straight path of possible demise. The look alone was making even the bravest of souls scared for their lives.
"Gu-guys, I think we sho-should leave," said Syrus as he was clinging on to Chumley as they were both walking together.
"Sorry, but no can do, Syrus." Said Celina as she began walking towards the Shadow Rider.
"But, why?! You want her to take your soul?!" yelled Chumley as the Key Keepers looked at him.
He was correct, in a way. They didn't want to lose their soul to her, but that doesn't mean that they want to make other people suffer from her as well. Their main role as Key Keepers is to protect the students from the Shadow Riders and the Sacred Beasts, and if they quit now, they failed as Key Keepers.
"We don't want that, not one bit, but that doesn't mean we want them to win and to release the Sacred Beasts." admitted Alexis as Bastion continued along with her.
"I concur, we are the Key Keepers and dueling duelists that are on the level of Pro Duelists may be difficult, but protecting everyone from the destruction from the Sacred Beasts is our primary focus." he said as the two non Key Keepers looked at each other.
"How…how about we wait for Zane?" asked Syrus, wanting for his big brother to save them from the Shadow Riders due to him being the strongest Key Keeper.
"I am sorry Syrus, but we can't always rely on Zane all the time. What happens if a similar thing happens to us in our next year, or the year after that?" said Celina as they continued walking down, "Sure, he is the best around, but that doesn't mean we shall always think about him saving us."
She bit her lip as she turned around to see Syrus in the eyes, "I know he is your older brother and you care for him, that is fine. But don't you want to be out of your brother's shadow? That's how all of us feel when he graduates."
Syrus looked at her, before he dropped his head, knowing that what she said was correct. Relying on Zane all the time will be the wrong thing to do. Yes, he is the toughest of the tough and strongest there is. Sure he may have bested Jaden in a duel, but that doesn't mean they should always rely on him. What happens when Zane is defeated and the rest try to duel the Shadow Rider and lose all of their Spirit Keys?
What happens if Zane has something that affected him outside of a duel like a heart attack?
What happens if he is possessed and is forced to duel the other Key Keepers?
Those were the worst case scenarios and if they kept relying on Zane, too much pressure would destroy the senior and make a fatal mistake in a game, losing him the game.
"I am sorry, Syrus, but we have to become our own duelists, dueling without his help, even if we are faced against the strongest there is." said Celina as she then began walking towards the Vampire Rider.
"No, I understand." said Syrus as he and the rest of the Key Keepers began walking with her.
Unknown to all of the Key Keepers, in a room with curtains not showing anything, with two podiums on different sides, Camula heard a different Shadow Rider appear behind her in a dramatic fashion, almost circus like fashion, "What's shakin', Camula my pal?" asked a Shadow Rider with red hair in a snazzy way with a weirdly coloured outfit.
Camula sighed as she turned around and saw the red haired Shadow Rider, "What do you want, Dennis?" she asked as the Shadow Rider, now known as Dennis, smiled at her.
"What? I can say hello to my fellow Shadow Rider and tell them that they did a good job defeating a Key Keeper?" Camula narrowed her eyes at Dennis, who did even flinch from the Vampire Rider, "Might I say, that was a spectacular show!"
Camula wasn't amused by the sweet words of her comrade, "Spare me the pleasantries, tell me the real reason why you are here, now." she said as her eyes glew red, the same way to her bats, but not in a motherly way.
Dennis slouched on the walls, not intimidated in the slightest, as he flashed her a smile, "Well, when the rest of the Shadow Riders watched your duel with one of the Key Keepers, Crowler was it? Anyway, he used a deck that I may or may not have been interested in, so I was curious if you have his deck after you defeated him and turned him into a doll?" he asked as Camula sighed and raised her hand.
After a few seconds, a deck appeared, a deck similar to the Obelisk Blue headmaster's deck, "I do," she handed over to Dennis, to which he took it and flipped through it, "You might not know this, but when a Key Keeper loses a duel, they also lose their deck so the winning Shadow Rider has every reason to take them." Dennis nodded along, who knew all the added bonus of being a Shadow Riders beforehand as he was one of the last ones to become one.
"Yeah, yeah, cool, cool." he said as he took a look at 5 monsters that he was interested in, Hunting Hound, Double Hunting Hound, Triple Hunting Hound, Ultimate Hunting Hound and Chaos Ancient Gear Giant, with a perfect Spell card to go along with the monsters.
He smiled brightly as he took the cards he needed and placed them back in Camula's hand, the deck vanished as soon as it reached the palm of her hand, "Many thanks like before." He said as he began walking out.
Camula was a little ticked off that she went to all of the trouble, just for him to take 6 cards with it, but she needed to know one thing, "So what, you are the next one if I get defeated?" she asked Dennis.
Dennis turned to her, "Hmm?" before he realized what she said, "Oh no. I go after Tania, you know, the only other girl in the group."
Camula looked at Dennis, a little more interested, "Wait, after her? You had a whole order on who goes next before telling me?" she asked the other Shadow Rider.
"No, not really. We just decided on who should go next after you went and defeated the Key Keeper, which again, hats off to you." he said, bowing a little bit, both respectfully and playfully.
The Vampire Rider sighed once again to the other Shadow Rider as she heard some footprints coming near them, "As much as I want to continue this conversation," she lied, "but I am hearing the Key Keepers coming near us, so I advise you to leave so our advantage won't be taken away."
Dennis looked up and nodded, "Understood, good luck on your duel, Cammy! Adios!" he yelled as he disappeared from thin air as she took a breath and a step back, waiting for more Key Keepers to beat.
Her eyes darted as she heard someone yell, "Camula! I challenge you to a duel, and believe me, I will defeat you!" yelled Celina as the Vampire Rider laughed.
"Really, now? You defeat me?" she placed her hand on her chest, "And I thought I was working with a comedian," Celina snarled at the sound of that, "But if you do truly want to duel me, well," her hand to a podium that was opposite to her, "go there and then we can duel."
Celina looked around and nodded. She ran at the staircase and to the podium, with a readied duel disk and deck already placed in. "Alright, now I know if I lose, my soul is trapped in a doll and my Spirit Key is stolen, but if I win, I get Crowler's soul back and you won't ever return!" She said as Camula thought about that deal, but nonetheless, agreed to it.
"That deal is fine by me, but that will only happen if you beat me." she said as her vampiric duel disk appeared on her arm.
Both of them looked at each other before both yelling at the same time, "DUEL!"
Celina: 4000 lp
Camula: 4000 lp
Turn 1.
Both the duelists took 5 cards from their decks, as Celina and the rest of the Key Keepers felt their Spirit Keys shake.
Bastion had a sweat dropped down on his face as clenched his Spirit Key, "If I did my math correctly, Celina will have a decent chance of overpowering Camula in one turn, but since Camula stated that she knows her entire deck and has powerful negation, I say her chance of winning is close to none."
Alexis held her Spirit Key as her eyes narrowed on the Shadow Rider, hating on how she would use such a disgusting thing just to get an advantage on them.
Syrus and Chumley could watch the duel, or maybe, duels against Camula.
In the forest of Duel Academy
Ever since Zane heard about the news of Crowler losing the duel against a Shadow Rider, he ran from the infirmary to help others defeat the Shadow Rider. The one thing he hated to do was leaving Yusuke behind, alone with only a spirit to help him. But surely that won't be too bad, right?
His mind went to a stop as he felt vibration on his chest and looked down, his Spirit Key was shaking like before, meaning that…
Someone is dueling a Shadow Rider! He then began running faster than he was before and only stopped when he reached the shore and saw the castle of the Shadow Rider.
He gritted his teeth as he ran inside it, as fast as he could to help the other Key Keeper.
Inside of Duel Academy
It has been a couple of minutes since Jaden and Chazz entered Duel Academy to protect Yusuke and sent their monsters to protect the down Obelisk Blue. They were around 5 minutes away from reaching the infirmary, but then they stopped.
Their eyes widened as they remembered the feeling not too long ago. Twice in a single week. They look at each other in the eyes, someone is dueling a Shadow Rider.
Jaden turned around, "Come on, Chazz, we need t-" he was stopped as he felt his shoulder being grabbed by the former Obelisk Blue and North Academy student, "Why are you-"
"Slacker, we are almost there to see what is happening to Yusuke, and you want to drop that right now because if someone is dueling a Shadow Rider!?" yelled Chazz as Jaden looked at the floor before looking at Chazz.
"But our monsters are-"
"If our monsters saw what was happening, don't you think they would have reported to us already?!" Jaden dropped his head, knowing that Chazz was correct, "We have to hurry. They would most likely have won the duel if Crowler almost beat her." he said as he felt something happening in his pocket, but ignored it as both of them began running towards the infirmary, not knowing that they would see a battle between duel spirits.
Back at the Duel
"Since you are in my domain, how about I start this duel off!" she yelled as she drew her card faster than Celina. She looked at her hand and nodded when she saw a powerful combo, "I will begin by summoning my precious little bat, Vampire Familiar!"
A small black bat with blood coloured eyes flew towards the field and then directly towards Camula's shoulders as it rested on it.
(Vampire Familiar: Level 1 - Dark Zombie - Attack: 500. Defense: 0.)
Camula then patted the little bat as she announced its effect, "And when this little darling is summoned onto the field, I can pay 500 life points to search one of my fellow vampiric brethren." She said as she took off a card from her deck, took a specific card and returned it to her duel disk.
Celina: 4000 lp
Camula: 4000 - 3500 life points
"And now, I will have some change in scenery with the Continuous Spell card, Vampire's Domain!" Behind the Vampire Rider appeared a podium where everyone could feel vampires, wolves, zombies and bats behind the podium, with a horrible smell that was almost impossible not to puke from.
"Thanks to this card, I get to normal summon a Vampire monster for the price of 500 life points, my apologizes darling, but I have to sacrifice you so I can summon one of my brethren," the bat nodded at Camula's words as it flew towards the start of the podium, only for it to vanish, "Come out, Vampire Lord!"
Celina: 4000 lp
Camula: 3500 - 3000 life points
From the pixels of the bat came out a vampire with light pink skin, crimson red eyes and light blue hair wearing a purple-red cape, a light purple suit and 4 large spikes almost looking like hands around him.
(Vampire Lord: Level 5 - Dark Zombie - Attack: 2000. Defense: 1500.)
"This isn't good because when Vampire Lord deals damage to the opponent, Celina has to send either a Trap, Spell or Monster of Camula's choosing." sweatdropped Bastion as Syrus looked at him.
"But, don't her monsters have graveyard effects?" he asked in confusion towards the Ra Yellow.
Alexis turned her head to the younger Truesdale brother, "They do, but the same thing can't be said about her Trap cards."
Celina said nothing as she eyed the Vampire monster, which she noticed that it looked at her, or more specifically, humans with anger, like something happened.
Camula took 2 cards from her hand, "You can go after I set 2 cards face down." two cards were set vertically behind the Vampire Lord.
Turn 2. Celina - 4000 lp - 5 cards
Celina breathed out as she drew her card, she needed to be careful. Who knows what set cards could do, but why does she feel like they were the least of her worries? She shook her head as she looked at her hand. It was good, having a great combo ready, but then she remembered one of Camula's set cards and decided to test it out.
She took out a card from her hand, "Thanks to Lunalight Black Sheep, if I send it to the graveyard, I get to add Polymerization from my deck to my hand!" she said as she discarded a feminine looking black sheep and took out her deck.
Camula sprinted into action as she revealed her set card, "Trying to Fusion summon, eh? Too bad for you, since I activate my Trap, Vampire Domination!" her set card was revealed, "Similar to Dominion that I used to defeat that professor of yours, it can negate a monster effect if I control a Vampire monster and if I do, I gain life points equal to the negated monster's attack points!" she announced as dark energy shot at the Black Sheep, making it unable to move as it sucked the life force of it.
Celina nodded as she stopped looking at her deck and placed it back into her duel disk, "Alright, and since you did that, you gain life points to Black Sheep's attack points, but that isn't really much since you gain only 100 life points." she pointed out as blue energy surrounded the Vampire Rider as she gained life points.
Celina: 4000 lp
Camula: 3000 - 3100 life points
"Yes, but a small step to take to defeat you. After all, I negated your search for a Polymerization." she taunted as the Slifer Red Key Keeper smirked.
"Who said that I can't Fusion summon?" she asked as everyone around her widen their eyes as she took out her card in her hand, "I activate my second copy of Polymerization so I could fuse my Lunalight Wolf and Lunalight Purple Butterfly so I could Fusion summon!" Her feminine wolf and butterfly appeared onto the field, before being sucked in by a Red-Blue Spiral Vortex.
From the Vortex, came out her Ace monster. The Fusion monster with blue skin, purple leggings, red bra with long red hair. "Come to the stage, Lunalight Cat Dancer!"
(Lunalight Cat Dancer: Fusion - Level 7 - Dark Beast-Warrior - Attack: 2400. Defense: 2000.)
"Ahh yeah, she just summoned her ace monster!" cheered Syrus.
"This is so lischus, now if nothing goes wrong, she can successfully destroy that Vampire monster!" cheered Chumley as the two Key Keepers looked relieved that this won't be too problematic.
"Now, I will start by attacking your Vampire Lord with Full Moon Mayhem!" Celina yelled out as her Cat Dancer sprung into action, jumping to the scene, ready to give out a deadly kick, but unfortunately for her and the rest of the Key Keepers…
…Camula laughed, "You think that will stop me?! Don't make me laugh! I activate my Trap, Pinch Breaker! When you declare an attack, your monster's attack points become the same as one of my monster's defense points, and I think you know who I am choosing, my Vampire Lord!" she yelled out as Celina's eyes widened as her Cat Dancer shrunk, smaller than the Vampire Lord.
Cat Dancer: 2400 - 1500 attack points
As Cat Dancer shrunk, Vampire Lord dodged it with relative ease and as soon as it dodged the attack, many bats appeared from the cape of the Vampire Lord destroying the poor Lunalight Fusion monster, but as soon as she was destroyed, the curtains were ripped off and everyone who weren't dueling gasped in shock as what they have seen.
Celina: 4000 - 3500 life points
Camula: 3100 lp
"Vampire Lord's effect activates! You have to send either a Monster, Spell or Trap from your deck to your grave, and I choose a Trap card!" Camula yelled as Celina took out her deck and sent out a Trap card to her graveyard, "And thanks to Domain, I gain life points equal to the amount that you lost!" She was once again surrounded by a blue light.
Celina: 3500 lp
Camula: 3100 - 3600 life points
Celina gripped her hand as she looked at her hand, realizing that there isn't much she can do, but for some reason, she felt an uncomfortable silence by her friends so she looked over and saw the terrified reactions.
She was confused as she decided to look over and her eyes widened, she saw it, or them. 20 students. 20 souls in dolls. She stole 20 students' souls and captured them in dolls. 4 of them were Slifer Reds, 8 of them were Ra Yellows and 8 of them were Obelisk Blues.
She covered her mouth as she realized what happened, "Ho-How could you…"
Camula tried to act innocent, "What do you mean by that? They are just a part of my doll collection, nothing weird about that." she said as Bastion turned towards her.
"How could you have done this?!" yelled Bastion, angered that someone would go after innocent people who have done nothing wrong.
"They were innocent! They aren't Key Keepers!" yelled Alexis in rage at the Shadow Rider as she glanced at her.
"What difference does that make? You humans didn't care about that part of us, did you?" she asked the Key Keepers.
"That doesn't excuse yo- Wait what?" Celina then thought about what the Vampire Rider told them. Humans didn't care about innocent…vampires? She wasn't the only one as the others looked at her in confusion as she said that.
"What do you mean by that?" asked Syrus as he looked at Camula, as the Shadow Rider looked at the younger brother of the Key Keeper she wanted to duel the most right before looking at the ground with anger boiling inside of her the more she thought about that day.
Even Vampire Lord was scared of her when she was like this, remembering that day.
She looked up, with an expression that was a mixture of anger, sadness, frustration and rage. Bloodlust rage. "I will tell you what happened on that fateful day…" Camula started as all of the people in her castle listened to her story.
In the 7th Century AD in Europe, the first ever vampire was made by the name of Dracula and soon, over a span of a couple of years, hundreds to even thousands of vampires were made and even born.
They all had distinguished features from regular people. For one, they couldn't go outside in sunlight and only during the nighttime due to the Sun being out at that time of the day. They all aged on a different level than a human. They could live up from 300 to 400, to even 650 years old.
Their skin was much paler than a regular human, with pointy sharp teeth. They also had an impressive healing fracture. Able to heal much quicker than a regular human, with their bones healing much faster. They also had superhuman strength, able to lift a whole tree and trunk below.
Despite them being inhuman to most of the humans, both vampires and humans lived in harmony, helping them in everyday tasks. During the day, humans helped the vampires by building them shelter, giving them food and water so they could survive and even donating their blood so they could get their energy back up, but during the night, the vampires protected the humans from wild animals if they didn't have a weapon with them or were just regular civilians that had jobs during the night.
During the 13th Century, a vampire girl was born into the world by the name of Camula Lugosi. Camula had two loving parents and an older brother by the name of Bela, who was about 8 years older than her when she was born.
When she was young, she used to love playing with the kids in the neighborhood, vampires and humans. They played all kinds of games. Football, hide and seek, hopscotch you name it.
She was loved by her friends and they would have never split up even when they were in their teens and were in high school, in different times.
Like any other human, vampires also had to go school, at night, but that wasn't a big issue since they learn at the busiest time of the day and the tests were child's play for any vampire in her age.
When she turned 16, two big things happened that changed her life in a good way. The first was the birth of her little sister, Mavis Lugosi, who was the usual vampire kid at her age with black hair and red crimson eyes. And the other was when she met the love of her life, Alucard Kretschmann.
The man was about her age and only slightly higher than her by a couple of centimeters. He had black with a little stubble for a 16 year old vampire in gothic styled uniform. Alucard was in love with her from the very first time he laid eyes on her, and the same goes for Camula.
They were like newlyweds when they started dating, and even after 3 years together, they haven't stopped acting like two lovebirds. With dancing with such passion that people genuinely felt uncomfortable, constant flirting and PDA, they were inseparable.
When they both turned 19, after finishing school, they were engaged with both families being proud of the two vampires, but all of a sudden, everything started falling apart.
A war has broken between the two races. Vampires and humans began a war. No one knew who started it first, but either side were relentless, killing every single one of them until they were all murdered.
The vampires did have the upperhand in strength, durability and stamina, but the humans had 3 weapons that was the turning point of the war. Crucifixes, a wooden steak and holy water, which disintegrated the skin of the vampires.
When the war started, all of the male vampires left their homes with their wives and children, ready to protect their kind from the humans, with the humans doing the same, but unfortunately for the vampires, they were all cut down as they faced the weapons, large number of soldiers and the threat of the Sun.
Camula shed a tear when Alucard, her father and Bella all left for war, leaving her, Mavis and her mother all alone as they all felt the danger of losing their loved ones, but their fear were met when the humans began raving the town, ready to kill any vampires left.
Her mother made both of her daughters leave so they can both leave the town, for a safer future as she went through a window and fought several humans, but quickly lost her footing when more and more appeared and killed her.
Both Camula and Mavis both ran away from the town, shielding themselves from the Sun using a cloak, but it was all no use as the humans quickly found out that they were vampires. Both of the sisters ran away for their life, but one of the humans caught the hand of Mavis and took her off her big sister.
Camula had no other choice other than to run into a cave, decimate the top part of it to protect herself from them and make herself a coffin, so she could spend all of her life in it and not to be hurt from the humans that killed her sister, brother, mother, father and the love of her life.
After a few centuries, Camula spent all of her life in the coffin, not daring to make a single movement inside, but then she heard someone coming in and opened her eyes to see a man with dark black hair that was down to his shoulders with dark gray eyes.
He proposed for her to either be a Shadow Rider, duel several Key Keepers and unlock the gates for the power of the Sacred Beasts or spend all of eternity in a cave. The sole living vampire thought about it, until she decided that…
…she will become a Shadow Rider.
After telling the story of her tragic past, Camula looked at the Key Keepers and she could tell that her story changed them for a long time.
They couldn't believe what they had heard. Vampires were real, they lived in harmony with humans, they were friends with humans and then…a war was started between them, killing all of the vampires, except for the Shadow Rider.
They always thought that vampires were some imaginary beings made by Universal Studios, but no. They were real and they lived with humans.
They couldn't have thought that they would start a war with a species that were in harmony for over 6 centuries, but then again, most wars started with alliances with well over a century old.
All of the Key Keepers, Syrus and Chumley focused on the part where she said that no one knew who started first, so maybe, just maybe that the people that have started the war were…
Their thoughts were all cleared when they heard the older Truesdale sibling finally catching up with the people that were spectating the duel, "Alexis! I am here! Who do I have to defeat?" he asked as he panted.
Alexis looked at him confused, finally able to speak after the news, "What do you mean ba that Zane? I never sent you anything." she said as Zane's eyes widened.
"What?! Then who could have-" his mind immediately went to the only group that made sense, he gritted his teeth, "The Shadow Riders." he said, enraged by the news that he was tricked.
Celina then looked at Camula, who was also confused, "Were you the one who tricked him?" she asked as the Shadow Rider looked at the Key Keeper.
"No, I wasn't…" she said honestly to all of the Key Keepers, but then grinned devilishly with veins popping on the side of her mouth and tongue outside, "...but this works also." She touched her Shadow Charm, her choker which then made dark flames appear on all of the exits, making that the only way out is to win against her.
She looked at the Key Keeper she was watching, "Be patient, Kaiser, for once I beat her, you will have a chance to duel me." she said as Celina knew what she was implying.
"We'll see about that!" she yelled as she took the remaining cards in her hand, "I end my turn by setting a monster and a Spell or Trap face down!" one card was set vertically while the other was set horizontally in front of Celina.
Turn 3. Camula - 3600 lp - 2 cards
As soon as Camula drew her card, the Lunalight player activated her set card, "Not so fast! I activate my Trap, Power Balance! If I have no cards in my hand, you have to discard half of the amount of cards in your hand while I draw the amount you just discarded!" she announced as the Shadow Rider blinked in confusion.
"But I have 3 cards in my hand…how many do I have to discard for half? 2 or 1?" she asked a genuine good question as Celina clicked her tongue. "Didn't think about that." Celina admitted.
"I believe it's 1." Bastion scratched his head as even he didn't know that question.
"I think it actually is." Alexis said as Camula shrugged.
"Fine, the less time we are discussing this, the better," Camula sent a card from her graveyard, a howl ringed in her ear when it was discarded while the Key Keeper drew her card. The Vampire Rider looked at her hand before taking a card, "Now it's my turn to draw cards, thanks to the Spell, Graceful Charity! I draw 3 for the price of discarding 2 cards." She did so, hearing a roar from her monster.
Camula then took one of the three cards in her hand and placed it on her duel disk, "Now, I will add to my army by summoning Pyramid Turtle!" an ancient turtle that looked like it was from Egypt with a pyramid for a shell was summoned onto the field.
(Pyramid Turtle: Level 4 - Earth Zombie - Attack: 1200. Defense: 1400.)
Celina counted the amount of damage she is about to take if she attacks with the smallest monster on her side of the field, "Unfortunately, I have a set Rainbow Chameleon on my field and if she attacks me with Pyramid Turtle, I will lose 2000 points of damage due to Lord and thanks to her Domain, she will gain 2000 life points and able to send 1 card from my deck." she gritted her teeth, knowing that Shadow Rider knew about her deck, that is a most likely occurrence.
Camula then pointed at Celina's set card, "The fun has gone down significantly so why don't we just raise it up? Pyramid Turtle attacks that set card!" Pyramid Turtle stood up and ran towards the set card and stomped on it, destroying it.
"Ahh man, this isn't very good! Celina will take a total of 2000 points of damage!" yelled Syrus, worried for his friend.
Zane narrowed at the Continuous Spell card that the Shadow Rider had, Vampire's Domain. He knew both effects of the Spell, "Not to mention that the Shadow Rider will gain the amount that she lost." he said as Camula laughed.
"You are right about that Key Keeper! Vampire Lord, attack the Key Keeper with Dark Disciple!" Camula commanded as her Vampire monster jumped and from the capes appeared bats which bit Celina in every direction. She screamed as soon as they were done and fell down on his knees.
Celina: 3500 - 1500 life points
Camula: 3600 - 5600 life points
"And now, send a Trap card from your deck to your grave due to Lord's effect!" Camula commanded as Celina, with all of her strength, took a random Trap from her deck to her graveyard.
Celina breathed in and out, trying to keep her breath steady so she didn't fall unconscious. She felt the pain of the duel for the first time. Her mind went through Crowler's and Zane's duels with their Shadow Riders and how they felt the damage of attacks, "I felt that, if this is how half of my life points are felt then…" she gulped, "...I am afraid what happens when I lose a duel."
She thought back on how Crowler were taking those attacks, much stronger attacks, and they still haven't fallen down. She looked up, not daring to lose to Camula even after she heard her life.
Camula took a card from her hand, "Impressive, you managed to survive that attack, but I wonder, how many can you take before you lose your soul?"
"I won't lose it," she cursed under breath, now glaring at the Vampire Rider, "And not to the likes of the Shadow Riders!" she yelled as she straightened her back.
"Really? Then prove it. I end my turn by setting a card face down." a card was set vertically behind the Vampire Lord and Pyramid Turtle.
Turn 4. Celina - 1500 lp - 1 card
She drew her card and her eyes widened at the newly drawn card. It was the monster she just added to her deck before this duel, Swordsman of Revealing Light, but right now she wouldn't use it for the specific reason that it doesn't have enough levels for no tributes.
So she opted to do her regular combos with one of her favourite cards to use so she took a card from her hand, "I activate my Spell card, Lunalight Wolf's Dance!" As soon as she placed the card in her Spell and Trap zone a statue of her Lunalight Wolf appeared in front of her.
"Good, now she could use her monsters in her graveyard to summon her powerful Fusion monsters." Bastion said out loud as Camula looked unimpressed as she expected that move.
"How right you are, Bastion! Thanks to my Spell card, I can fuse monsters in my graveyard so I could perform a Fusion summon!" she took out 2 monsters from her graveyard, "I will now banish my Lunalight Cat Dancer and Wolf so I could summon an even more ferocious Fusion!" Her ace monster and the monster that has its own statue appeared on the field, right before being sucked in by a Blue-Black Spiral Vortex.
From the Vortex, came out something like a Evolution to Cat Dancer, a panther in fact. The monster she always used when her Cat Dancer couldn't do the job, a monster that managed to defeat Syrus in the promotional exams, "Come to the stage, Lunalight Panther Dancer!"
(Lunalight Panther Dancer: Fusion - Level 8 - Dark Beast-Warrior - Attack: 2800. Defense: 2500.)
"This is so lischus, now with all the attacks she will be in the lead!" cheered Chumley as he quickly did the math that even though Camula won't lose this turn, she will still lose alot of life points so she would have a better chance of winning this duel.
"Not quite!" yelled Camula as everyone heard her set card being activated, "Go, Blood Sacrifice! I take my Vampire Lord out of the field and I gain the same amount of his attack points!" Her Vampire Lord disappeared as a blue light appeared around her as her life points grew even bigger than before.
Celina: 1500 lp
Camula: 5600 - 7600 life points
"Ahh man! This is horrible, her life points are more than 5 times the amount that Celina has!" Syrus bit his fingers, not wanting to see the duel and a second Key Keeper lose.
"Don't forget Blood Sacrifice's second effect, Sy." warned Alexis as the rest looked on.
"Damn it," Celina cursed as she raised her voice up as she pointed at her monster, "That doesn't stop me from activating Lunalight Panther Dancer's effect! She can now attack all of your monsters twice and when she does destroy a monster she gains 200 attack points, until the end of the turn! So go, Ripping Frenzy!"
Panther Dancer roared at her mistress' command as it dropped to all fours and ran towards the Pyramid Turtle. When it got all close, she slashed the face of the Zombie monster, but then quickly did a backflip, landing a successful back kick in the process, destroying it. The monster then ran back towards her mistress and stood up.
Celina: 1500 lp
Camula: 7600 - 4400 life points
Panther Dancer: 2800 - 3000 attack points
Now normally, if someone dealt someone more than 3000 points of damage there would be huge applause, but since that didn't even drop to the normal amount of 4000, it wasn't that big to talk about. They all just waited in anticipation, ready for the next turn.
Celina sighed as then she heard laughing from the Vampire Rider, "Why thank you," most of the students looked at her, confused, "For you see, when Pyramid Turtle is destroyed by battle, I can special summon a Zombie Type monster from my deck with 2000 or less defense points!"
Their eyes widened as now they knew which monster she would summon onto her field, "Here comes, here comes my love, Vampire Alucard!" Just like the duel against Crowler, bats appeared in a group as a white haired, red outfit wearing Vampire came out of them.
(Vampire Alucard: Level 7 - Dark Zombie - Attack: 2500. Defense: 1000.)
The Key Keepers then looked at the monster that they all, sans Zane, now know as the dead fiancee of the Shadow Rider they are fighting. They felt terrible to fight it and destroy it, but if they didn't destroy it, they would lose their souls and release the Sacred Beasts, especially after Camula reminded them, or in Zane's case, or told them the effects of the monster.
"When he is summoned onto the field, I get to search a Vampire Card from my deck straight to my hand." she announced as she took a card from her deck and revealed it and it was the same as she used it against Crowler, Vampire Vamp.
Celina bit her lip as she looked at her hand, she had nothing against her monster, but possibly in her graveyard? She looked at Camula, "I end my turn there, your move."
Turn 5. Camula - 4400 lp - 2 cards
"Oh, how dreadful to see your reaction on how you are going to lose, but oh well, it was expected," Camula said as she drew her card and her vile smile appeared, shocking Zane for seeing it for the first time as the rest of the Key Keepers looked onwards on the duel.
"I'll start by activating Zombie Fusion!" Camula yelled out as she placed a Spell in her Spell and Trap zone, "When I have 4 or more Zombie monsters in my graveyard with different names, I can fuse monsters from my graveyard by banishing them! So I will fuse my Vampire Genesis and my Zombie Werewolf to summon out your demise!" Her demon-like vampire and a half dead wolf appeared onto the field, only to be sucked in by Red-Black Spiral Vortex.
As the monster she was summoning emerged, she began to…chant? "Rise my deadly beast from the dead, reappear into the world to crush your enemies by your Vampiric hands! I Fusion Summon! Appear, Vampire Genesis Wolf!" And then the monster that defeated Crowler and his Ancient Gears appeared in its hellish appearance with his claw ready to strike their opponent down.
(Vampire Genesis Wolf: Fusion - Level 9 - Dark Zombie - Attack: 3500. Defense: 500.)
As soon as it was summoned onto the field, the Fusion Vampire monster roared as the Key Keepers had to cover their ears, but it quickly died down as the rest of the students looked at the Fusion monster in terror. Camula decided not to activate her monster's effect since she knows that she will win in this turn, however one question was going through Syrus mind, "What was that?"
Camula looked at the younger Truesdale brother, "What was what?"
"Th-That…chant thing. What was that?" he asked as everyone else was confused about the chant.
"Oh, that? That was a chant only used for powerful monsters," Camula knew they were about to ask something so she continued, "Before you ask, your teacher posed no threat to me so why would I bother doing it against him?"
Everyone now understood what she was saying and they gotta admit…they kinda liked it, even Zane.
"But enough with the explanations, it's time for battle! Vampire Alucard attack her Panther Dancer with Dominus Hatred!" Camula commanded as Vampire Alucard jumped up and 7 different shades of green rays appeared from him, but the Shadow Rider wasn't done, "And when he attacks, I send one Vampire monster from my hand to the graveyard and he gains attack points equal to the discarded monster!"
Camula discarded the monster she added last turn, Vampire Vamp, as Alucard's rays got stronger when her spirit flew into the fiancee of the Shadow Rider (ATK: 2500 - 4500.) and shot it towards the Lunalight Fusion monster.
"If this connects, she will lose well over the amount she has!" yelled Bastion as the Key Keepers looked at Celina, but her expression changed their thoughts. She has something for this.
"Oh really now, Bastion? How about I change it a little bit," she got a card away from her graveyard, "When a monster I control is being attacked, I can banish my Trap, Battle Ready, and my monster gains half of the original attack points of the attacking monster!" she placed her Trap in her pockets as a red glow appeared on her Panther Dancer.
Panther Dancer: 2800 - 4050 attack points
"That is not enough to surpass my monster!" yelled Camula.
"But it is enough for staying in the game!" Celina argued back as her Fusion monster was evaporated by Alucard, but the one difference was that she is still in the game and a blue light appeared around Camula.
Celina: 1500 - 1050 life points
Camula: 4400 - 4850 life points
Camula laughed as she wasn't done with her turn, not in a long shot, "You managed to survive one of my monsters, but tell me? Can you survive my Vampire Genesis Wolf?!" Chumley and Syrus gulped, Zane narrowed his eyes, Bastion and Alexis looked at each other in worry while Celina didn't change her expression, "Go! Vampire Genesis Wolf, attack her directly with Crimson Pounce!"
The Fusion Vampire monster jumped towards the female Slifer Red, ready to destroy the Key Keeper as the rest of the Key Keepers watched in horror as another one of them would lose towards the Vampire Rider.
Celina reached for her hand.
At Fonda's Office
With the battle between the cloaked person's monsters and Chazz's and Jaden's monsters continuing, with the Elemental Heroes trying to attack him as a surprise, but were punched away from Gren Maju Da Eiza, and even the lasers from the Light Machines were taken cover by Golden Homunculus. The cloaked person was almost done with his potion. The potion will wipe the memory of everything about the Shadow Riders, Kagemaru and even Nightshroud, but not his previous memories before.
If he uses it now, before modifying it just a bit more, it could possibly kill him, but he had no choice as he heard the two Slifer Reds coming closer and closer.
He walked towards the former Shadow Rider and opened his mouth. Honest saw this and tried to attack by surprise, but was quickly stopped by Helios - The Primordial Sun. The Light Fairy tried to attack the monster, but it was proven difficult as he watched in horror as the cloaked person poured the potion into Yusuke's mouth, hearing the silent sounds of pain of his master.
"Master Fujiwara!" Honest called in worry as he flew upwards and tried to attack the person, but was quickly abushed by Gren Maju Da Eiza and punched into the wall. The duel spirit looked at Yusuke and the cloaked person, the latter pouring the potion on the former.
He stood up as he saw the cloaked person being surrounded by a dark light, "What have you done to Master Fujiwara!?" yelled Honest as the monsters summoned disappeared, the ones protecting the cloaked person looked on with pride as they won this battle.
Before the cloaked person could answer that question, the door was suddenly opened by the Slifer Reds, Chazz Princeton and Jaden Yuki. As soon as they entered they saw the defeated and enraged look on Honest and a person in cloaks, turning his back on them. They felt something familiar towards the latter, but the questions needed to be answered.
"Who are you and what are you doing to Yusuke!?" yelled Chazz as Jaden was quiet as he heard the noises of pain coming from Yusuke.
The cloaked person stayed quiet, something in him hated lying to them like they were familiar to them, "For what I have done to him, is none of your concern as he held information that we didn't want to gamble on, but who I am is simple. I am Amneal, one of the Shadow Riders." the cloaked person, now known as Amneal, told them, not turning around.
Both Chazz and Jaden, with the inclusion of Honest, gasped in shock at the news. Another Shadow Rider in the school. This can't be true.
Chazz gritted his teeth, "Oh yeah!? If you are a Shadow Rider, how about you duel us for our Spirit Key?!" his fingers ran through his Spirit Key, as it was still shaking. However, Amneal stayed quiet.
"Duel? My apologies, I don't think you are ready for another duel against a Shadow Rider, not until he is defeated." Amneal said to the two Key Keepers, as Jaden didn't say a word as he felt somewhat fear from his voice. Like the person was scared of one person.
But Chazz on the other hand, didn't stay quiet, in fact he was furious telling him that he was ready against a Shadow Rider, "What?! You think The Chazz is scared of the Shadow Riders!? Think again!" he yelled as he walked towards Amneal, "In fact, how about we both duel right here and no-" he couldn't even finish his sentence as Amneal disappeared as soon as he turned around.
They stayed quiet for a few seconds…but then Yusuke began yelling in pain as that caught the attention of everyone in the room.
"Yusuke/Master Fujiwara!" yelled everyone as they quickly got towards Yusuke, seeing the poor Obelisk Blue in pain, screaming in agony as he couldn't open his eyes. They needed to do something quick!
"Jaden!" Jaden turned towards Chazz, "You go and get a doctor while I stay here and see if I can help! Got it!?"
"Don't worry, Chazz, I got it!" yelled Jaden as he exited the infirmary as he then ran towards the staff room. He ran as fast as possible and he quickly got to the staff room where two teachers were resting with piles of paperwork on the table, "Fonda! Ms. Izinski! Something bad has happened!"
Both Fonda and Ms. Izinski, or more known as Akiza, woke up quickly as they heard the panic coming from the Slifer Red. Akiza had long red hair that was down to her hips, with burgundy coloured eyes. "What's wrong!" Akiza quickly stood up and ran towards the Slifer Red and looked him in the eyes.
Jaden took a deep breath as he looked at her eyes, "Something bad has happened to Yusuke and I-I can't explain it! He ju-just started screaming in pain!" Fonda and Akiza's eyes widened in panic.
He was just brought in a day ago and something bad has happened already!? Both the doctors, nurse in Fonda's case, ran to the infirmary with Jaden following them.
They opened the door and they saw Chazz trying his best to calm the situation, "Don't worry, Yusuke! It's goin- Everything will be fi- Nothing wil- What do I do here?!"
"Chazz, move aside, we need to see what is happening to Yusuke. Okay?" Fonda asked as Chazz nodded and moved away as they looked at Yusuke.
Their hands covered their mouths as they saw a student yelling in pain as if their life was at stake. They looked at the two Key Keepers, "You two need to exit the room." That's all that they could say as they knew what they had to do.
Jaden, Chazz and even Honest moved out of the room so they could do their job. They grabbed seats from different rooms and sat outside of the room. They couldn't just leave and see the duel between a Shadow Rider and a Key Keeper, it just felt wrong to do so.
Back at the duel
As the Vampire Genesis Wolf ran towards her and jumped towards the Slifer Red Key Keeper, ready to strike her down, Celina reached for a card in her hand and grinned, "Not so fast! When I am about to be hit by a direct attack, I get to summon a new addition, from my deck, from my hand to my field, so come out, Swordsman of Revealing Light!"
A huge burst of light appeared on the opposite side of Vampire Genesis Wolf, causing most of the people watching the duel to cover their eyes, sans Zane, as then a monster was formed from the light. The monster wore a traditional samurai-like battle armour with the blue colouring scheme, covering all parts of his body. On the chest plate were tiny daggers made out of lightning. The monster also wielded a sword made out of lightning. When he was summoned onto the field, 3 big swords made out of lightning appeared behind him. He was in a X position, making it known that he was in defense mode.
(Swordsman of Revealing Light: Level 8 - Light Warrior - Attack: 0. Defense: 2400.)
Many stared in awe at the new monster, however Camula hissed in pain at the light, but Alucard appeared in front of her and used his cape to protect her from the light. She blushed, but needed to know one thing, "Swordsman of Revealing Light?! When did you have that card!? Did one of my bats lie?!"
"Oh don't worry about that," Celina grinned, "I added it when you told us how you know our entire decks, remember?"
Camula gasped at the sound of that, "You." she said with venom in her voice as Celina shrugged.
"But, it doesn't really matter anywho, right? Since you did cheat to know our entire decks, why not shock everyone with a new monster?" she shrugged her shoulders, but she needed to clarify one thing, "Oh and one more thing, during the turn he was summoned, he can't be destroyed by battle."
"Brilliant move, Celina! Well despite the fact the card doesn't really fit your deck style, still a brilliant move!" cheered Bastion as the rest cheered back.
"Not bad, she managed to trick her opponent by adding a card that no one would expect." Zane noted, "This should be a lesson to all of you, always expect the unexpected because moves like that will change the game in a short time."
Camula gritted her teeth, knowing attacking the monster was useless, "I end my turn with that." she said, still in Alucard's safe hands.
Alucard: 4500 - 2500 attack points
Turn 6. Celina - 1050 lp - 0 cards
Celina drew her card and looked at it. She smirked at it, sure she could use Wolf's Dance to summon her new monster, but this also could work. "It's time to finish this duel, I activate the Spell card, Lunalight Fusion! I can Fusion summon a Lunalight monster by using monsters in my field, hand and, if you control a monster from your Extra Deck, from my Extra Deck!"
Camula's eyes widened at the sound of that as Celina took out a card from her Extra Deck as her friends looked confused as she couldn't do a Fusion summon with only one monster.
"I fuse from my field, Swordsman of Revealing Light," The Key Keepers widened at the sound of that, she is using her monster that isn't a Lunalight for a Lunalight Fusion monster?! "and from my Extra Deck, Lunalight Cat Dancer!" A second copy of her ace monster appeared onto the field, only for it and Swordsman of Revealing Light to be sucked in by a Purple-Blue-Red Spiral Vortex.
An idea of using a chant came to Celina's mind, so she tried her shot, "Now by combining the brave soul of a warrior and the reflexes of ferocious feline, I can now create a new lunar legend! I Fusion Summon! Lunalight Sword Dancer!"
From the Vortex, came out a feline with dark blue skin with brown hair and crimson red eyes. Around her hips was the fur of a tiger, with paws sharp as a sword. Her left eye had a scar similar to a bird. She wore white leggings, yellow bra and a tattoo of the Moon on her back that was full of scars from her previous battles. Around her arms were gauntlets, three on each of them, and the same could say about her legs, but two on each of them. Around her hips and chest were little daggers and she wielded a sword that was the same size of a full grown animal. They all depended on the element of the monster fused to create this monster, but since it was a Light attributed monster, all of the swords were made of lightning. She took them and swung all of them like they were nunchucks.
(Lunalight Sword Dancer: Fusion - Level 7 - Dark Beast-Warrior - Attack: 2500. Defense: 2500.)
As the light all died down, Alucard stopped protecting Camula as it was safe for the Vampire Rider, but that was soon a mistake as she held her mouth with her hand in shock at the new monster created by the Key Keeper.
While the Key Keepers were glad she was able to summon a powerful new monster, they all noticed that its attack points were weaker than all of the monsters on Camula's side of the field.
"Oh no! It doesn't have enough attack points to defeat any of Camula's monsters!" yelled Chumley.
"Ahh man, this isn't good since if she passes now, all of the monsters on Camula's monsters will destroy her and she will lose the duel!" yelled Syrus as Bastion, Alexis and Zane took notice of Celina's stance like she was planning something.
"Syrus, who told you I am losing? Because I am winning this right here and now!" she exclaimed as she pointed at her new monster, "Sword Dancer switches the attack points of all the monsters on the field by their defense points and vice versa with the defense points!"
"What!? No!" yelled Camula as all of her monsters got weaker, but Celina's monster remained all of the power it had.
Alucard: 2500 - 1000 attack points/ 1000 - 2500 defense points
Genesis Wolf: 3500 - 500 attack points/ 500 - 3500 defense points
Bastion placed his hand under chin, "That was an excellent move, while the Zombie monsters do possess immense attack power, their defense points are the opposite story."
"And since her monster has the same amount of attack points as defense points, her effect doesn't affect it in any way." noted Alexis.
"Sword Dancer has another ability! She can attack twice per turn! So why don't you give Vampire Genesis Wolf some payback for Crowler with Double Sword Slash!" Celina commanded as the Sword Dancer swung her sword around right before charging directly towards the Fusion Vampire monster, ready to slice its head off.
Camula remained silent as did the Key Keepers, but then, the Vampire Rider started laughing, "Ahh, so close yet so far. You got caught in my trap! I activate Blood Sacrifice from my graveyard," Celina didn't change her expression as Camula took a card from her graveyard, "My life points dropped down to 100 while Vampire Genesis Wolf gains attack points equal to the amount I lost!" A red light appeared on Camula as her monster roared in power as its wings went haywire.
Celina: 1050 lp
Camula: 4850 - 100 life points
Genesis Wolf: 500 - 5250 attack points
Celina smirked, "And how is that supposed to help you?" Camula looked at her in disbelief, she wasn't scared?! "Since Sword Dancer's final effect activates! She negates any and ALL stat increases so all of your monster's attack points go down the drain!"
Genesis Wolf: 5250 - 500 attack points
"Wait! That means-"
"You lost! Finish the job, Sword Dancer!" yelled out Celina as her new Fusion monster ran towards the Vampire monster, gripping the hield of the sword and sliced the neck of the monster, successfully winning the duel.
"This can't be happening! NOOOOOOOO!" yelled Camula as she dropped to the floor, with the holograms from Celina and Vampire Genesis Wolf vanishing, meaning that the 2nd Shadow Rider has been defeated. Only Alucard stayed, seeing Camula defeated.
Celina: 1050 lp
Camula: 100 - 0 life points
CELINA: WINNER!
Camula, and the rest, were quiet as Alucard approached her with a smile on his face. "What's wrong dear?"
Camula choked out a response, "My love, I…lost the duel." she was quiet as the rest heard the conversation. "I am sorry."
Alucard tilted his head, a smile still on his face, "You're sorry for what, dear?" he asked.
"For not saving you!" she yelled as Alucard remained calm, "I couldn't save you, my mother, my father, my brother or my sister!" she breathed out and began, "I thought if I become a Shadow Rider I could return all of you, but I- but I couldn't! I lost!" she brought her head down.
Alucard kneeled down to Camula as he raised her head up with his hand, a soft smile on his face that Camula couldn't get enough of, "Camula, my dear, there is nothing to be ashamed of. You only did this to save us, or even make new vampires and I don't blame you. None of us do."
"Are you serious?" she asked, "You aren't mad?"
Alucard let out a soft and gentle laugh, "No of course, dear. I can never be mad at you. You are the love of my life. An angel in disguise. A gift from above." Camula smiled at the words of her dead fiancee, "But if there is an upside to all of this, there is now."
The defeated Shadow Rider looked at him, "And what is that?"
"You and I could finally be together again, in the afterlife. Forever." he said as Camula smiled at the sound of that as she fell unconscious into his chest. He stroked her hair with his hand as both of them vanished. Never to be seen again.
It was quiet in the castle as the Key Keepers, Syrus and Chumley looked at the podium where Camula was, and even after her defeating the souls of students and Crowler, they felt terrible for what they had done. Killing the only living vampire and dying in her fiance's arms.
But then the entire castle began shaking as part of the roof dropped down to the floor. Celina quickly ran at where the dolls of the defeated students were and grabbed them. She jumped and landed on the floor and saw the rest running as fast as possible.
After several close calls, they all managed to escape without any injuries. Their feet landed on the sand of the shore of Duel Academy and they took a big breath as they saw the Shadow Rider's castle falling apart and into the deepest part of the ocean.
As they sat on the beach, tired from running for their lives, Celina could feel something in her pockets and she saw the puppets glow yellow. She immediately threw all of them away as they all returned to normal.
They were shocked by what happened, not daring to make a move, but Bastion walked towards one of them and checked their pulse. "They are fine, a bit injured with some scratches on their bodies, but mostly fine." Everyone had a sigh of relief, but something in Kaiser was not right.
He stood up and before any could ask he told them, "All of you rest here and reassure everyone that didn't happen, alright? We don't want them to know about the Shadow Riders, got it?" He looked at everyone, too tired of telling a word, nodded, "Good. I'll go check up on someone." he said as he began walking towards the infirmary.
At Fonda's office
Chazz and Jaden were currently waiting for Yusuke, even after Crowler appeared out of Chazz's pocket which was a weird conversation with Fonda who heard the screaming. Honest was quiet the whole time, which was completely understandable, and even Chazz's monsters didn't utter a word, strange, but still understandable.
They were completely annoying, couldn't stop talking to each other or him, always having parties when he is trying to sleep, trying his best to stay attention in class as they wouldn't stop talking, even during a duel they won't stop talking, but right now, they knew that jokes weren't the right time.
But what was strange is that the usually bubbly Jaden was quiet. Strange. Even in serious situations he would crack jokes or make a comment to lighten the mood, but now? He was quiet as a rock.
"Hey, Jaden." started Chazz as the Slifer Red looked at him.
"Hmm?" turned around the brunette.
"Is something wrong? Like you usually you would make a joke to lighten the mood, but yet you aren't now. Is there a reason?" he asked as Jaden scratched his cheek, nervously.
"Ye-yeah," Jaden gulped as he started off, "I just don't like waiting for someone when they are in a doctor's room." Chazz raised an eyebrow, but he let him continue, "One time when me and my cousin Matthew were playing football, Matthew accidently slipped and he was sent to the doctors to get it looked at. That day was possibly the scariest day of my life, even more so than today, since I couldn't see my cousin just be hurt, y'know?" he looked at Chazz, "Nah, it's probably stupid."
Chazz sighed, "Slacker, for the first time, what you said wasn't stupid. It was normal to be scared of someone you care about. I can't say that I felt that, but I think I can get the picture. You cared about Matthew and that's understandable. If someone else thinks that is stupid, leave them I say." he said as he pat Jaden on the back as the brunette smiled at him.
"Thanks, Chazz, I kinda needed it." thanked Jaden as both of the Key Keepers heard footsteps coming towards Fonda's office.
"Jaden? Chazz? What are you two doing here?" Zane asked the two Slifer Reds as they were sitting next to Fonda's office.
Jaden and Chazz looked at each other, not knowing how to tell him the news. Jaden took a deep breath, "Kai- Zane, can you please promise us you won't get mad?"
There were two red flags from one sentence in Zane's head. Jaden never calls him his real name, he calls him his title 'Kaiser' and the other that when someone asks that question, nothing good ever comes from it.
He sighs as he nodded that he won't get mad and then they all begin the story. From sensing the danger from the infirmary, to summoning their monsters to protect Yusuke, to a full blown battle, to now knowing that they are a Shadow Rider and now to where Yusuke is being seen by Akiza and Fonda.
Zane was calm to the entire story, but on the inside, he was enraged. He hated himself for leaving Yusuke at his most vulnerable and seeing him being treated by doctors gave him the impression that he wouldn't survive.
Before he could ask anymore questions, the door was opened and the Key Keepers looked at the two red haired doctors. They asked for Yusuke's condition and what happened to him.
Akiza took a deep breath as she began explaining their process. From checking his blood pressure shot up, to checking his IV speed which were shot up and they needed to regulate it so it would have been easier for him to breathe. They placed a white dressing as they were preparing the syringe to stabilize his IV. Before they needed to open an IV catheter clamp on the cannula, which they cleaned with alcohol swabs, and then they inserted the syringe to flush the IV. They then closed the clamp on the cannula and thus his condition stabilized much to everyone's relief.
They then mention that if they informed them later, he would have died, shocking everyone. Fonda wanted to lighten them up by saying that he would make a full recovery in a few weeks, much to everyone's relief.
Zane was quiet the entire time as he looked at them, "Can I see him now?" he asked as both of them looked at each other, before nodding as the three Key Keepers walked in. As soon as the doors closed, to give them some privacy, Zane sobbed.
Chazz, Jaden and Honest were shocked as they heard him sob, but that wasn't it. A tear went down his face, "I am an idiot. It's all my fault."
"Woah, woah, woah. Zane, it isn't your fault." assured Jaden as Chazz agreed.
"Yeah, he is right. It isn't your fault. He could have done at any time man and then do this," tried to assure Chazz, but it failed as Zane.
"YOU DON'T GET IT!" All of them took a step back as they had never heard Zane with such volume before, "It's my fault that I left him there! If it weren't for me leaving, the Shadow Rider wouldn't have attacked him! If it weren't for him, he wouldn't have been in such a state! If I stayed here, he wouldn't…have… he wouldn't have ALMOST DIED!"
"Zane, calm down, we unde-"
"I am not finished! If I wasn't here, he would have DIED! I couldn't have lost him again, not like two years ago." Zane dropped to his knees as tears went down heavier than before as he looked at them, "How could I consider him as my friend, if I would have almost left him to die here!? I would never forgive myself if I did that! I just can- I just can't-" he couldn't even finish his sentence as he felt a hand on his shoulder.
He looked up and saw Honest looking at him, "Zane, you are wrong. You should blame me for almost leaving Master Fujiwara to die. I couldn't have saved him, not even with help, I couldn't have saved him."
Zane wanted to argue back, but Jaden and Chazz stopped him, "Zane, you are from the truth. It isn't your fault, it's his fault that Yusuke is like that. You have to understand." said Chazz as Zane thought about it for a moment, as Jaden continued.
"Yeah, Zane, if you weren't a good friend, would you not have saved Yusuke from Nightshroud's clutches?" Zane wanted to argue back from Jaden's words, but knew that the junior was right. "And I understand how you would feel. When Matthew broke his foot, I couldn't have helped, but I felt like nothing for weeks as I thought that it was my fault for breaking his foot, but I understood that it was an accident. These types of things happen, and you can't blame yourself for something out of your control."
A minute has passed by and Zane stood up and smiled, "Thank you, all of you for those words."
"Don't mention it."
"Any time Kaiser!"
"I am always there to help you, Zane." said Chazz, Jaden and Honest one after the other, but they noticed Zane taking a seat.
"You two can go back to your dorms, it's getting extremely late. I will be here until Yusuke wakes up, alright?" he asked as both of the Slifer Reds nodded and exited the room, leaving Honest and Zane together to protect Yusuke.
It took a while, but Zane finally went to sleep as Honest continued watching over Yusuke.
But they would soon realize that in a few weeks, another will appear.
Authors Note:
And Done! Sorry for the late chapter! School's back so expect late chapters alot! And here we are, the defeat of the 2nd Shadow Rider and I quite enjoyed it!
I decided to make Celina the one to take her down as I really think she deserves it and I wanted to make a new Lunalight monster. Did you really think I would make a main character lose this early into the story making them unable to do anything for the rest of the season? Who do you think I am, Yugioh Arc V, Demon Slayer and Gurren Laggan?
I decided to change Camula's backstory a little bit here since her backstory is tragic, but the inner writer that wants to make characters suffer in me wanted more and more, so why not kill her loving parents, older brother, sister and lover?
I also decided to add summon chants in this fic because they are badass, but they will take some time to write since they can be tough.
Yes, I made Dennis McField/MacField a Shadow Rider since he was a fun character to watch and his duel against Shay was a fun one to watch, so look forward to his chapter.
Here are some fun facts about this chapter!
My dumbass accidentally changed Camula into 'Camilla' so I had to fix it everytime while writing.
I didn't come up with all of the medical stuff, one of my readers did!
Camula's last name is based on the first guy to play Dracula, while Alucard's last name is based on the newest guy to play Dracula.
Camula's little sister is based on Mavis from Hotel Transylvania!
I got the idea from Tag Force: Heroes and Villains to add Swordsman of Revealing Light into a person's deck during their duel against the Vampire Rider.
And now, I have ideas for two different fics. A story where Jaden is sent back to the past, and all is the same, but the names and characteristics are from the original sub. A Zexal Rewrite with Yuto, Shay, Lulu, Saya and Allen in it, with new Barians and XYZ monsters, with Fusion and Synchro monsters in it.
That's about it. See ya guys later!
Made up and Altered Cards:
Swordsman of Revealing Light: Summon effect from the TCG, protection effect from the anime.
Vampire Fusion: A Zombie-Type Miracle Fusion.
Battle Ready: A Trap that has the same effect on the field and grave, but can not be activated in the same turn.
Lunalight Sword Dancer: A Neos Knight for Lunalights.
