"Our time is short. I have no doubt the Devil is looking for us as we speak."

"Forget doubts. I was waiting for you to come up here. Some of your punks topside called in. They're closing in now."

Kingpin took a deep breath. "How many?"

"Enough to make a sweep of this whole operation. Daredevil, Cage, Jones, Iron Fist, Spider-Man, Moon Knight. And based on the gunfire I heard from the last ones to call in, Castle might be heading this way too."

"And what is Moon Knight doing here?" Jessica said with a similar attitude.

"Fisk's men crossed his board, so he wants him locked up too. Doesn't matter, we need as many hands as possible if we want to stop Fisk," Daredevil answered. "Let's go."

"Frank's here. We don't have much time. Marc, I need you to make sure Frank doesn't kill Fisk or damage the collider."

Daredevil nods. "Alright Defenders, let's work for a living."

"No, Frank!" Moon Knight yelled over the gunfire.

"Get off me, Spector!" Punisher tried to headbutt Moon Knight and missed, and Moon Knight gave a punch to the side of Punisher's jaw.

Punisher was knocked flat onto the floor of the catwalk, landing right next to his discarded assault rifle. He then saw the launcher under the barrel was undamaged. He quickly grabbed the rifle and aimed up at Moon Knight, who kicked the rifle just as he fired it, firing the grenade over the railing of the catwalk, and right into the collider, where it hit and exploded dead center.

"NO!" Fisk exclaimed. The energy burst from the collider as it tore itself apart, and exploded, the energy forming a giant wormhole, that soon began to suck everything in.

"It's just you and me now, Spider-Man! So who falls first?" Taskmaster yelled. Then Spider-Man took a deep breath, and let go of his webs, then webbed the hand Taskmaster had on his sword. "Shit…" Spidey then yanked his arm, pulling Taskmaster's sword out of the ground, letting both of them fall through.

The Defenders of Remnant

Chapter 3: Welcome to Remnant

Spidey's head was spinning as he started to wake up. The last thing he remembered was going through the wormhole, and blacking out as soon as he crossed the threshold. "Ugh, is this what a hangover feels like?" He quipped to no one in particular. He started to push himself up, feeling slightly weak, and started to gain his bearings. Once he was once again on his feet and his vision fully cleared, he saw he was in a city, but it sure wasn't Brooklyn. It seemed almost rural. "Well, we're not in Kansas anymore," he joked to himself . He then looked up in the night sky to see a moon, but not his moon, because almost a third of this one was shattered. "Or even in my world anymore. Where have you taken us, Kingpin?"

He then felt a jolt in the back of his head. "Spider-Sense is tingling…" He starts to look around, and soon feels confused, as no threat is coming. He then soon saw a girl a few rooftops down, kneeling at the corner and looking down on the street. He couldn't see her clearly, but could see black hair and a bow. He web swung over to the other roof and approached the girl. "Excuse me, miss, I was wondering if you could tell me-" He started to ask, but then the girl disappeared. "Huh?" Then his Spider-sense jolted again, and he moved out of the way just in time as the girl came down from behind him, slashing a black sword with ribbon wrapped around it. He leaned back as she slashed at him again, then leapt away from her to avoid a third strike. "Woah woah! Easy! What's with the sword?"

"Why were you sneaking up on me? How did you even get up here?" The girl asked. Spidey was able to get a good look at her now. She had fair skin with amber eyes, purple eyeshadow and amber eyes. She wore a black, buttoned vest with coattails and a single silver button on the front over a white, sleeveless, high necked, crop undershirt and white shorts with a zipper on the front of each leg, black low-heeled boots and full stockings with a color gradation of black to purple at her ankles. On her left arm is a black detached sleeve with a silver cuff around her bicep, and black ribbons are wrapped around both forearms. A small, loose, black scarf is wrapped around her neck, and atop her head was a ribbon tied into a black bow.

"I didn't mean to scare you or anything! I swear! I just need to find out where I am." He tried to talk her down.

"You can't be serious. How would you be in Vale without knowing where you are?" Blake asked.

"Vale, huh? That doesn't sound familiar." Spidey said aloud to himself.

"Who are you? And what do you really want?" The girl asked, keeping her blade pointed towards Spidey.

"Honestly, I just need directions. I kinda just woke up here, need my bearings, yknow."

"You still didn't answer the first question," The girl said, getting more annoyed.

"Well, I'm your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Well, not this neighborhood, but you get the idea."

"Spider… are you a faunus?"

"Am I a… what?"

"Quit playing dumb with me. You can't seriously not know what faunus are," The girl questioned, a harder look on her face. She wasn't having any of this.

"Look lady, I just got here. And I need to find my friends. You wouldn't have happened to find someone running around with horns on his head, would you?" Spidey asked. That seemed to make something snap in her.

"Adam sent you. You're with the White Fang."

"With the what now?" Before Spidey could say anything else, the girl's blade rotated back to reveal a gun barrel in the crossguard, and she began to fire at him. He quickly started to evade every shot, but just barely. Whoever this girl was, she was good. Eventually she emptied her mag, and Spidey took the chance to web the barrel of her weapon. "Now hold on just a minute! Who's Adam? What's the White Fang? And where the hell is Vale supposed to be?"

The girl started to recognize the genuine confusion in Spidey's voice. Perhaps he had him pegged wrong. "You… you really don't know?"

"No, I don't," he responded in a calm voice, still trying to keep things from escalating further. The girl seemed to think for a moment, and started to lower her weapon. "Thanks, I-" he stopped short as his sense jolted yet again. "Spidey-sense is tingling…"

"What?" The girl asked.

"Get down!" He yelled and both of them hit the deck as a few bullets were fired at them. Spidey looked up to see Taskmaster across the street firing one of his handguns. "We need to move!"

"Let's just take him!" The girl suggested. "There's two of us!"

"Not a good idea! He can predict every move you make, any fight without at least three on one gives us low odds!"

"This fight is more even than you think," The girl remarked before rolling forward and firing a few shots at Taskmaster, who got low and blocked with his shield. Spider-Man took the opportunity and webbed his shield, then pulled hard, pulling Taskmaster off his feet and giving him a rough landing onto their roof. Spider-Man shot two webs at the edge of the roof, stepped back, then launched himself forward towards Taskmaster, who recovered fast enough to get on his feet and clothesline Spider-Man with his shield, sending him spinning off the roof. He then turned his eyes to the girl.

"You have no idea what you've just gotten yourself into, little lady," Taskmaster sneered as he drew his sword from its scabbard. The girl scowled and pulled her scabbard off her waist, holding it like an offhand weapon. "This should be interesting." The girl readied herself to attack, gripping her weapon tightly, then webbing shot onto Taskmaster's foot. "Ah, shit." Spider-Man was on the building across the street, and he pulled hard to send Taskmaster flying over and past him. After passing more buildings, he hit the edge of a roof back-first, then landed onto a car out cold.

"Hope you had a nice flight!" Spider-Man quipped before web swinging back up to the girl.

"I had it handled," The girl said.

"Believe me, you didn't. But you kept his attention long enough, and he didn't get to copy your moves."

"Copy? I thought you said he predicted moves," The girl questioned.

"He does both. He can instantly perfectly imitate your moves, and use that knowledge to predict your attacks. But because he couldn't see me, and he had his attention on you, I sent him flying into next week. Thanks for the help."

"You're welcome, I guess. Same to you," The girl replied.

"I never caught your name by the way."

The girl seemed to hesitate and think for a moment, as if considering if she should trust him or not. "It's Blake."

"Nice to meet you, Blake. Sorry for the rocky start," Spidey said.

"I should be the one to apologize. I made a bad assumption, nearly hurt you," Blake replied.

"Eh, I've been through worse."

"So what about you? I doubt your actual name is Spider-Man. Who are you under the mask?" Blake asked.

"Well that defeats the purpose of the mask, doesn't it?" Spidey smirked under his mask. "Well, I should take my leave, find my friends. You should cut and run too."

"Something tells me we'll see each other again," Blake replied.

"Me too. Guess we'll find out soon enough. It's nice to meet you Blake. Maybe next time we see each other, you can tell me about this place," Spidey said as he stepped towards the edge.

"I still don't understand how you don't know more. It doesn't make sense."

"Maybe next time," Spidey said as he leapt off and started to swing away. Blake watched him as he disappeared into the city.

Jessica, Luke and Iron Fist had awoken to find themselves on a street corner, and after they gained their bearings, and saw the shattered moon in the sky, realized Fisk's plan of opening a door between universes must have worked.

"Well this is just… wonderful," Jessica sarcastically remarked. "We're stuck in another universe. And with no familiar faces in sight."

"Not even Fisk. We must all be scattered around," Iron Fist said.

"Then why are we still together?" Luke asked.

"We went through at the same time, as a group. Everyone else went through at different times. So we likely come through at different places, maybe even different times," Iron Fist answered. "For all we know Matt and Moon Knight could have shown up here weeks ahead of us even though it was only a few moments between us going through."

"Y'know, you're not helping the whole 'not so great' situation at all, Danny," Jessica remarked.

"Well, we should start looking for Matt, Peter and Spector. Once we're grouped up again, we can start cracking down on where Fisk and Castle are," Luke suggested.

But Iron Fist, or Danny, shook his head. "Our first course of action should be to figure out where in this world we are, and get a place to rest our heads. Then, upon learning more about this place, decide our actions from there."

"But that'll eat up too much time. The sooner we find the others-" Luke started.

"The others can handle themselves. We all know that. And I'm sure Matt and Peter will have the same idea. We can't run around blindly in hopes of finding each other when they could be an entire world away."

"He's right, Luke," Jessica said. "To figure out where they are, we need to figure out where we are first."

Luke sighed and crossed his arms, looking down. "Alright, fine. Where should we start?"

"Perhaps Luke, you and I should get some less… conspicuous clothing on," Danny suggested.

"What do you mean? I'm fine. It's you all dressed up in a karate onesie."

Jessica smirked. "Luke, you're a 6'6 black man dressed in bright yellow. Even if we can't fix the height, let's hide the bright colors for now."

"So what do you expect us to do? We don't got money from this place," Luke asked. Jessica just kept smirking.

Jessica smashed the display window for a closed clothes store then hopped in. Luke kept standing outside and just shook his head. "We're superheroes, and you're having us steal clothes."

"You're superheroes who charge when one of you is a millionaire and the other makes a salary in charity donations from the people of Harlem. I wouldn't be above calling that robbery," Jessica remarked. Danny and Luke looked at each other, and Danny shrugged.

"She's not wrong. Maybe when we get back, we could consider the whole 'Heroes-for-Hire' thing."

"Just shut up Danny, and get inside," Luke said as he entered the shop through the window. Danny followed. After digging through racks for clothes that would fit them, Luke came up with a black zip-up hoodie to wear over his bright colored shirt, whilst Danny came up with a whole new outfit that he threw on over his costume. He wore a dark green zip-up hoodie under another green-brown jacket, dark brown cargo pants, and normal green sneakers. He also removed his mask, revealing his messy blonde hair.

"See? You guys look fine. Now let's go," Jessica said as she hopped back through the window.

"Go where?" Luke questioned.

"For a drink. I can't think of anything else when I'm sober." The other two traded glances before following her down the street.

As they were exploring the streets, finding a few bars with all of them closed, they eventually came to what had to be a nightclub, but the front windows were all shattered.

"Someone's had some trouble," Danny remarked.

"Are we really going to go into a shitty nightclub for drinks?" Luke asked Jessica.

"Everywhere else is closed. Besides, it wouldn't be my first time getting wasted in a club," Jessica replied as she kept walking towards the building.

"We're here so you can get one drink, not get wasted," Luke said in disbelief.

"Keep telling yourself that, Luke."

The group then approached the stairs leading into the club, where two guards in black suits, red ties, red shades and black fedoras stood at the doorway. They also began to hear the music blaring from inside. As they reached the door, one of the guards stopped them. "Sorry, but we can't let you in without checking for weapons."

"Really?" Luke asked.

"Really. We had an incident last night, and aren't letting anyone but Junior's regulars keep weapons." Luke sighed but put his arms out at his sides to let them pat him down.

"We saw the shattered windows. What happened here?" Danny asked.

The second bodyguard replied while the first finished checking Luke. "Some crazy blonde chick came in here looking for information. Then picked a fight Junior, and mopped the floor with the entire club. It was like she was a freakin' supernova."

"You're good," The first guard told Luke, then Danny stepped up and also put his arms out.

"One woman did all this?" Danny asked.

"Not a woman, some teenage girl."

"You got your asses kicked by a teenage girl?" Jessica asked. "I like her already." Both guards gave a dirty look to Jessica, but didn't do anything else. Once they finished checking Danny, finding he had no weapons, Danny stood with Luke. Jessica started for the doorway, and as they tried to pat her down, she gave them a threatening glance. "Touch me and I break your fingers."

Both guards backed off and the three Defenders were allowed into the club. To enter, an automatic door opened, splitting at the middle and retracting into the wall at the sides, only for them to be blinded by a rotating spotlight, of which there were many attached to the rafters above a center stage, surrounded by a ring of partygoers, who were watching two women perform on stage, one dressed in frilly red with black hair, and a twin in white. To the left of the entrance was a bar, with a robust man with black hair and a black beard, and a bandage on his left temple. He wore a gray vest over a white button up with a red tie and black dress pants.

"That must be Junior," Danny said.

"Yeah, well, while we're here, Jess can get her drink, we can get info from him," Luke said. The three made their way to the bar. Once they got close, Junior looked up at them.

"Hey there. What can I get ya?" He asked.

Jessica took a seat at the bar. "Whiskey. Anything will do it." Junior nodded and grabbed a bottle and a shot glass, then started to pour. "Just give me the bottle." Junior shrugged and handed the bottle over to Jessica, who immediately started drinking it. Luke sat next to her while Danny stayed standing, keeping an eye over the rest of the club.

"Hey, man, any chance you could give us some information about this place?" Luke asked Junior.

"What, my club or Vale?" Junior responded.

Vale must be the city, Luke thought. "Vale. We're, uh, new in town and don't know too much about the area. Pretty much blind actually. Anything you could tell us?"

"You came to Vale knowing nothing?"

"Heard it was a big city, wanted a change of scenery. Somethin' new. But that's it."

"Well, Vale is one of the four kingdoms; probably the best actually. It's a good city, for the most part. Good place for business. Grimm have a pretty hard time getting in, and there's some crime, but it's nothing the huntsman can't handle," Junior answered.

"Speaking of which," Danny said while turning to face Junior, "We heard what happened last night. Sounds like you might be in that criminal element yourself."

"What are you, cops? No, I'm not a crook. But I rent out my men to a lot of people. What they get hired for is on the person that hired them, not me. I'm an info broker, not a gang banger. And besides, blondie came to me for info, not to hire anyone," Junior defended.

"When was the last time you hired someone?" Jessica asked between drinks.

"Less than an hour ago. Guy named Torchwick came in and hired a handful of guys, saying it was for security. Nothin' weird about it, companies hire guys for security a lot nowadays."

Luke gave a small nod. "Thanks, I think that's all we needed to know." Luke stood from his seat and pulled Jessica from hers. Jessica finished her swig then set the half-empty bottle back on the counter. "See you around." Then the three began to leave the club.

"Hey, aren't you gonna pay for the drink?" Junior called.

"Make a tab!" Jessica waved him off. Junior cursed under his breath, but let them go, wiping the rim of the bottle before closing it and putting it back on the shelf.

The trio were quickly back on the sidewalk. "'That's all we needed to know'? Really?"

"Yeah, I know, but we can't ask more questions with apparently obvious answers, then they'll ask their own questions," Luke replied. "I'm sure there's a library or something that will open tomorrow that we can get some answers at. But right now, we need to either find the guys or find a place to sleep."

"Or better yet, money," Danny suggested. "We can't steal and skip the bill the entire time we're here. Besides, we'd need money for a place to lay our heads."

"And how are we supposed to get any? Rob banks?" Luke asked.

"Guys, beds first," Jessica said.

"You're just saying that because the alcohol is kicking in."

Jessica paused for a moment. "Seriously, beds first."

Daredevil crouched on the edge of a rooftop, looking down at a small shop with a sign above the window and doorway reading From Dust Till Dawn. Moon Knight stood behind him, growing impatient. "Murdock, I can't believe you are worried about a random street crime when we're stranded in another universe, with Wilson Fisk God knows where. This isn't our problem right now."

"I know you of all people aren't talking about going out of our way to save someone, Marc. As I recall, you recently brutalized an entire apartment complex of criminals to save a little girl," Daredevil replied.

"That was different. We were in New York. Now we're not even in our own dimension," Moon Knight, or Marc, reflected.

"We're heroes wherever we go, Marc. Doesn't matter the bigger picture." Daredevil kept his gaze on the shop. They had seen a group of men with weapons enter the store only moments before, and were waiting for them to come out onto the street before stopping them, so they'd have room to fight. "Besides, I know you will never complain about beating up criminals."

"Okay, you have me there."

Suddenly, the window to the shop shattered as two different figures burst through, one of which leapt off the other as the first was laid out flat on the sidewalk. The first, which was now unconscious, was a man in a black suit and fedora, red glasses and red tie. The second was a young girl with black hair with red at the tips, pale white skin, and silver eyes. She wore a black long-sleeved blouse with a high collar and red-trimmed sleeves, a black corset with a matching skirt with red lining, black stockings, black boots, and a red hood with a cape. And unfolding into its full form was a large red scythe.

"What the hell is that?" Marc looked on in pseudo-shock.

The girl slightly smirked at the group of criminals as they stepped out. Most of them matched their unconscious cohort, but there was one who stood out. He wore a bowler hat, a white suit, black pants, black shoes, a gray scarf, black gloves and buckled sleeves. He had fair skin, red hair and green eyes. He also had a cigar in his mouth and a cane in hand.

"Okay…" The bowler hat man said. He then looked to the other henchman. "Get her."

"Now?" Marc asked.

"Now." Daredevil nodded. Then both he and Moon Knight jumped down to the street.

The henchman ran for the girl, who spun atop her scythe and kicked the first henchman in the face, then it fired and launched the butt of the weapon into the jaw of another henchman.

Then Daredevil and Moon Knight came in, each taking one of the last two henchmen. Moon Knight punches him in the stomach, then grabs him by the neck and delivers blow after blow to his face, then lets him drop to the ground. Daredevil drew one of his escrima sticks and after taking a moment, threw it at a nearby wall, and it ricocheted off the wall and hit the final henchman in the skull, knocking the man out and sending the stick back into Daredevil's hand. The girl seemed confused at the appearance of the two superheroes, as did the bowler hat man, who looked down at the henchman on the sidewalk.

"You were worth every cent, truly you were," he said as he dropped his cigar and stamped it out with the bottom of his cane. "Well, Red, I think we can all say it's been an eventful evening, and as much as I'd love to stick around… I'm afraid this is where we part ways." The bowler hat man then pointed the bottom of his cane towards them, and the red bottom flipped up to be a crosshair sight, showing the inside to be hollow. Daredevil tilted his head as he heard the slightest spark of an ignition.

"Move!" Daredevil grabbed the girl and dove out of the way as a large red blast was fired from the man's cane. Moon Knight quickly dodged out of the way too, but was disoriented by the blast. Once the street settled, Daredevil helped the girl to her feet. "You alright?"

"Y-Yeah," the girl replied. "Thanks."

Moon Knight got to his feet and looked up. "Hey, hornhead! He's getting away!" Daredevil and the girl looked up to see the bowler hat man climbing a ladder up onto the nearby rooftop.

"Alright, you stay down here and-" Daredevil started to say to the girl, but she was gone in a blur of red, leaving behind a trail of rose petals. "Nevermind then." He then started to climb the ladder, whilst Moon Knight grappled up to the top. Once all three were on the roof, they saw that the man was on the opposite side of the roof already.

"Hey!" The girl yelled. The bowler hat man groaned a bit.

"Persistent…" Then an airship rose up on his end of the roof, the pushback of the air catching the three off guard. This gave the man a chance to climb in, then turn around to face them. "End of the line for you and your buddies, Red!" He called as he held a red crystal. He then threw it and aimed his cane at it. As he was firing, a solid line of web hit the crystal, and it swung back towards the airship, making the blast occur just next to the airship, rocking it and sending Torchwick into the wall of the passenger area. The three looked up to see SPidey swing in and land right next to them.

"Hey guys, long time no see!" He said to the other two heroes. "Who's the new kid?"

The bowler hat man got to his feet and fired his cane again. Spidey quickly turned, but then another person came between them, creating a giant purple glyph as a barrier that the shot exploded on. Once the dust settled, they saw a woman with blonde hair put up in a bun, bright green eyes, teal earrings and half-moon glasses. She wore a long-sleeved white button up that showed her cleavage, a torn up black cape with purple on the underside, a black pencil skirt with golden buttons, brown stockings and black boots with bronze heels. She also had a riding crop in her hand. The glyph soon faded away.

Torchwick scowled and quickly went to the pilot. "We got a huntress!" The pilot, a woman in a red dress, quickly gets out of the seat and lets Torchwick take the throttle. The woman stands in the open doorway, everything but her bright amber eyes obscured.

The blonde woman used her crop and fired a bolt of energy into the sky, a large glyph flashing in and out upon impact, then a large formation of storm clouds appeared just above the airship. She waved her crop down and a storm of ice shards began to fall from the clouds, wreaking havoc on the airship, one of which went through the cockpit view glass, narrowly missing the bowler hat man's head. The woman in the airship's dress lit up, and she let a burst of energy out towards the blonde woman. The blonde woman blocked the attack, but the energy splattered into clumps of ash, which then began to glow red-hot again. Daredevil quickly grabbed the young girl and leapt off the roof, followed by Spidey and Moon Knight, just in time to get clear of the explosions. Once they landed, Daredevil set the girl down and they looked back up at the trailing smoke from the explosions, and could still hear fighting.

"Guess she can handle herself," Spider-Man remarked.

"Good to see you made it alright," Daredevil said to him. Spidey looked back. "Yeah, I had a run-in with Masters though. Guess everyone made it."

"Um, sorry to interrupt, but who are you guys?" The girl asked, looking up at all three of them.

"We're the good guys," Moon Knight answered. Spidey gave a thumbs up in agreement. They then all see the airship fly off into the sky, and the blonde woman soon floated down to them all. "That was some show up there, lady."

"Hmph," The woman mumbled. "I need all of you to come with me."

"You're a huntress…" Ruby said with a broad smile on her face. "Can I have your autograph?"

The three heroes and the girl were now in a confined room with one light hanging from the ceiling, one chair (that the girl sat in) and a small metal table. The girl sat with a downtrodden look on her face as she gazed downward. Moon Knight and Daredevil stood at two adjacent corners of the room while Spidey hung from the ceiling upside-down between them. The woman, who identified herself as Glynda Goodwitch, paced in front of them all.

"I hope you all realize that your actions tonight will not be taken lightly. You put yourselves and others in great danger," She scolded.

"They started it!" The girl and Spidey defended in unison.

Goodwitch continued. "If it were up to me, you'd be sent home; with a pat on the back…" The girl got a hopeful look in her eyes, then Goodwitch finished. "... and a slap on the wrist." She started to slap her crop down onto the table, but Spidey webbed the crop and pulled up, yanking it out of her hand.

"Hey, I swung in to see this girl fighting criminals who threatened an old man at gunpoint. She stepped in and stopped all those guys from making off with the stuff from that shop. They would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for her or us," he defended. The girl gave a bashful smile at the superhero's defense of her actions. Goodwitch however, just scowled.

"Regardless, there is someone who would like to meet you all." Goodwitch then stepped aside to let another man in; a man with messy silver hair and small spectacles entered holding a mug of coffee and a plate of cookies.

"Ruby Rose," he said as he entered, gesturing towards the girl. He then slightly leaned in. "You…" The girl, now identified as Ruby, seemed to recognize the man. "... have silver eyes."

"U-Um.." Ruby mumbled in confusion.

"So," The man continued, "Where did you learn to do this?" He gestured to a tablet Goodwitch no wheld that showed a recording of Ruby fighting the thugs.

"S-Signal Academy," Ruby nervously replied.

"They taught you to use one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed?" The man questioned.

"W-Well, one teacher in particular."

"I see…" The man simply responded before setting the plate of cookies down onto the table. Ruby hesitated at first, but then quickly started scarfing them down. Daredevil gave a small smile while Spider-Man webbed one over for himself. Moon Knight just shook his head. Goodwitch gave an annoyed look to Spidey. "It's just that I've only seen one other scythe-wielder of that skill before. A dusty old crow…"

The last part of that sentence seemed to grab Ruby's attention. She said something unintelligible through the mouthful of cookie before quickly swallowing to make her words heard. She wiped her mouth of crumbs and said, "Sorry. That's my uncle Qrow. He's a teacher at Signal. I was complete garbage before he took me under his wing. Now I'm all like-" She then started initiating fighting moves and making exaggerated fighting sounds.

"So I've noticed," The man chuckled, setting his mug down on the table, taking a seat at the chair opposite Ruby's and looking at the three heroes. "And what about you three? I saw how the three of you handled yourselves." He looked at Moon Knight. "A strong right hook to repeatedly render someone unconscious without giving them a chance to retaliate," then Daredevil, "... a ricochet of an escrima stick taking someone out in one blow, a trajectory that even the most trained minds have difficulty calculating," then finally he looked to Spidey. "... and the catching and rethrowing of a dust crystal no bigger than the palm of one's hand to intercept an already moving projectile. You three seem particularly skilled, with clear extensive training."

"We have a job to do. Had to learn, or it would cost people their lives," Daredevil answered.

"That job is for the huntsman and huntresses of the kingdom's academy as well as the local police. Not vigilantes who use their semblances for attention," Goodwitch snapped.

"You're speaking gibberish to us, you annoying wench," Moon Knight remarked. Goodwitch just got more angry, and started to raise her crop again.

"Glynda." The man said sternly. The woman growled but lowered her hand and backed away.

The man then turned his attention back to Ruby. "So, what is an adorable girl such as yourself doing at a school designed to train warriors?"

"Well… I want to be a huntress." Ruby answered.

"You want to slay monsters?"

"Yeah! I only have two more years of training left at Signal, and then I'm going to apply to Beacon!" Ruby answered, her enthusiasm growing as she continued. "You see, my sister's starting there this year, and she's trying to become a huntress, and I'm trying to become a huntress 'cause I want to help people. My parents always taught us to help others, so I thought hey, I might as well make a career out of it! I mean police are alright, but huntsmen and huntresses are just so much more romantic and exciting and cool and really, gosh!, y'know?" Her voice had reached such a high pitch Moon Knight and Daredevil were actually flinching from it. Goodwitch gave her a concerned look.

"You should write a book on it," Spidey commented.

"Do you know who I am?" The man asked Ruby.

"You're Professor Ozpin, the headmaster at Beacon."

The man, Ozpin, chuckled a bit. "Hello."

"Nice to meet you." Ruby replied with a genuine smile.

"You want to come to my school?"

"More than anything." Ruby answered with confidence.

Ozpin and Goodwitch looked at each other for a moment. Then Goodwitch rolled her eyes with a small "hmph" of disagreement. Then Ozpin turned back to the young girl.

"Well, okay."

Ruby looked forward as her eyes and smile widened impossibly.

"Congrat's, kid." Daredevil congratulated her.

"Thank you mister, uh… devil man!" Ruby replied.

A small smile came to the devil's lips. "Daredevil."

"Now, Professor Goodwitch, if you will escort Miss Rose out, I have more I wish to say to our masked friends." Ozpin said. Goodwitch nodded and led Ruby out of the room before closing the door. "So, you three are very clearly new to Vale. Possibly, I wager, new to Remnant."

"Well that didn't take long for you to figure out," Moon Knight remarked. Daredevil and Spidey looked at him. "What? If he already knew, I wasn't going to do that bullshit trying to talk him out of it."

"So, where do you hail from? And more importantly, are you a threat to my kingdom and my world?" Ozpin asked, narrowing his eyes.

Spidey let go of his web and landed on his feet. "No, we're not a threat to you. But someone who came with us is. A man named Wilson Fisk."

"Wilson Fisk?" Ozpin asked.

"He's a mob boss just as dangerous as any superhuman, and he has a group of super villains with him. We were brought to your dimension when his super collider malfunctioned and opened a wormhole that sucked us all in."

"You speak as if there are even more of you." Ozpin said.

"There are," Daredevil answered. "Three more of us, but we don't know where they are. Along with a criminal killer, the Punisher."

"We don't know where he is either," Moon Knight commented.

"Hm," Ozpin simply replied. "You've given me much information to process."

"Look, 'Professor' is it?" Spidey said. "We don't want to cause you any trouble, and we definitely don't want to hurt any of your people. But Wilson Fisk is a dangerous man, and so is every single villain under his employ. We want to not only stop him, but help protect everyone in your city from him; if you'll let us."

Ozpin stopped to think for a moment, then gave a small smile. "So young, and yet such a mantle of responsibility you carry with you." Spider-Man seemed a little caught off guard for a moment. "Please, I teach children for a living. I believe I of all people would recognize a young man's voice over that of an adult's. Just as I noticed that you, 'Daredevil', are blind because you have yet to look anyone directly in the eyes."

"You're an observant man, Professor." Daredevil replied.

"But of course you are correct. Perhaps it is best if we work together, even if indirectly. Though if I am to have… superheroes in my kingdom, I must of course know what lies beyond the masks. You must all have secret identities, ones that can be used freely in my world at your own discretion. That way you won't have to hide in the shadows to do your work."

"You can't seriously think I'm taking my mask off for you, old man." Moon Knight remarked.

"He's right. Trust goes two ways. And we don't have to worry about the people here recognizing us, we're not in New York anymore." Spidey reflected. He then looked to Ozpin and pulled off his mask, revealing the 19-year old face behind. He had brown hair and blue eyes. "My name's Peter, Peter Parker, AKA Spider-Man."

Daredevil then slowly takes off his mask. He had combed brown hair and brown eyes, though they seemed almost empty. He then turned to Ozpin, more looking past him than at him. "Matt Murdock, Daredevil."

The trio then turned their attention to Moon Knight who seemed hesitant, but he begrudgingly also removed his mask and hood. "Marc Spector, Moon Knight."

"A pleasure to properly meet you all. Now, let me make my proposition for you all more clear. I will provide you all with positions in my kingdom where you could fit right in: my school, Beacon Academy, where you all will be fully supported by the best in the Kingdom, all while having a reliable cover for your outings. Mister Parker, I will offer you a place as a student, no strings attached."

"Thank you, sir." Peter thanked him with a smile.

"Mister Murdock, you have a way about you I somewhat recognize. Tell me, what is your profession in your world?"

"I'm an attorney. I run a firm with my friend Foggy." Matt replied.

"Hm. Well, while the courts are not prominent, I believe I could have a place for you as a teacher in my academy. I've been looking to expand my curriculum to include the different laws and regulations of my world, which I could supply you to study yourself before the proper start of next term, if you would like. Perhaps throw some of your own knowledge into the mix." Ozpin suggested.

"That actually sounds fine, Professor. Thank you."

Ozpin then turned to Marc Spector. "You, however, I find difficult to read."

"Good, then I'm doing the job right." Marc replied.

"You don't want to be anywhere near my school, do you?"

"Not really, no."

"Well, it was a proposition, not an ultimatum. I would still like to provide you with a place to stay, since Mister Parker and Mister Murdock will be living at the school."

"I'll take that."

"Also, Professor, does your school have a lab of some kind? I'd need a place to make my web fluid." Peter asked.

"Of course. We'll give you a lab all to yourself if that's what you wish."

"Thank you Professor."

"Well then, gentleman…" Ozpin stood up and put his hand out to Peter, who took it and shook it. "Welcome to Remnant."
