Rocket is taking apart things on the ship. Peter tells him that he can't take apart his ship without asking him. He points at something and asks what it is.

Rocket tells him not to touch it because its a bomb.

Peter asks if he's just going to leave it lying around.

"I agree, you shouldn't just leave explosives lying around like that." Natasha said.

Rocket says that he was going to put it in a box.

"What's that gonna do?" Happy asked.

Peter asks what a box is going to do. Rocket slides a bin out.

He takes out the present Peter's mom gave him and suggests that he use the box.

"You haven't opened it yet?" Pepper asked.

"I was..." Quill trailed off.

Peter tells him to leave it alone. He kicks the bin back to where it was.

Rocket asks what it is.

Peter tells him to shut up then points to something else and asks what it is.

Rocket says that its for when things get really hardcore or if they want to blow up moons.

"That thing can blow up a moon, and you just leave it sitting out!?" Bruce asked.

Gamora says that no one us blowing up moons.

Rocket tells her that she just wants to suck the joy out of everything.

"You guys have all sorts of issues." Rhodey sighed.

Peter says that he needs Gamora's buyer's coordinates.

Gamora says that they're headed in the right direction.

Peter says that she should start trusting him a little if they're working together.

Gamora asks him how much he trusts her.

Peter says he'd trust her more if she told him what the orb is.

"The tea." The teenagers whispered.

Peter guesses that its a weapon.

"It is, but almost worse than that." Gamora said.

Gamora says she doesn't know what it is.

Drax says that they should use it against Ronan if its a weapon and picks it up.

Gamora calls him a fool and tells him that he'll destroy them all.

"So you say you don't know what it is, but somehow you know what it does." Natasha said.

Drax says he'll just destroy Gamora and calls her a murderess.

Gamora says she let him live once and calls him a princess.

Drax says he isn't a princess.

"No." Rocket agreed. "You are definitely too ugly to be one."

Peter says that no one is killing anyone on his ship. He says that they're stuck together until they get the money.

"You're not that bad at managing situations." Coulson said.

Drax tosses the orb to Peter and says he has no interest in money.

"I just wanted Ronan dead by my hand." Drax said.

Peter says that that means there's more money for the 3 of them. Groot makes a noise. Peter corrects himself and says for the 4 of them.

Gamora says that they have an agreement but she'd never work with the likes of him.

"And yet here we are." Quill said.

She says that she'll tell they buyer that they're on their way and tells Peter that his ship is filthy. She walks up the stairs.

Peter says that the ship would look like a Jackson Pollock painting if he had a black light.

"Dude." Scott said.

"That's disgusting." Clint added.

Rocket tells him that he has issues.

"I agree."

At the Klyn, Nebula is questioning a guard. The guard says that he swears he doesn't know where they went.

Nebula says that if he knew where they were headed he'd have already told them. She tells Ronan that the Nova Corps have sent a fleet to defend the prison.

Ronan tells her to send Necrocraft to every corner of the quadrant and find the orb at any means or price.

Nebula asks about the Kyln. Ronan tells her to cleanse it because the Nova can't know they were there.

Everyone wanted to be mad at Nebula for working with Ronan, but given what background they have of the situation, they can't exactly say that they blame her, but they definitely didn't like this version of her.

Yondu is in the broker's shop. He asks if he has any cute little buggers because he likes to have them in a row on his console.

The Broker says that he can't tell if Yondu's joking.

"He's being 100% serious." Quill said.

Kraglin says that Yondu's being serious.

The Broker tries to show him more. Yondu tells the Broker to tell him where the orb is and why everyone cares so much about and asks if he knows who else might want to buy it.

"And there it is." Everyone sighed.

The Broker tries to talk but Yondu keeps interruption him with gibberish.

"That's annoying." Gamora said.

The Broker says that he can't betray the confidentiality of his buyers.

Yondu threatens him by making his arrow float and hover towards the Broker's face and asks about the buyer.

"Wait what?" Clint asked, in reference to Yondu's arrow, it was so cool.

The collector is walking through a room, a pink woman is cleaning.

"Isn't this who you gave the Aether to?" Bruce asked Loki, who nodded.

He greets Carina. Carina calls him master. The Collector asks if her people have elbows.

"I don't see what that has to do with anything." Steve said.

Carina says that they do.

The Collector tells her to use them and he asks if he needs to remind her of what happened to the last attendant who disappointed him.

"What happened to the last one..." May asks

Another pink woman is in a cage, restrained.

Everyone looked at the screen in disgust.

The Collector says that their guests will be there soon. Carina goes back to scrubbing the glass.

"Is he the buyer?" Steve asked. The guardians nodded.

"Tell me you didn't actually give it to him..." He trailed off.

"No." They said.

'Moonage Daydream' is playing. Peter is messing with his blasters. Rocket says that they're inbound. Peter joins them. They look at, what appears to be a giant severed head.

"Okay, what?"

Drax asks what it is.

Gamora says that its called Knowhere and it's the severed head of a celestial being.

"What's a celestial?" Bucky asked.

"A very powerful being, they are among the oldest in the universe along with the Elders, of which the collector is." Gamora answered.

Gamora tells Rocket to be wary because there are no regulations there. They head in.

'Knowhere: Mining colony.' appears on the screen, as they travel further into the head.

"Whoa." Everyone said as they stared at the inside of the head.

Gamora says that hundreds of years ago the Tivan group sent workers to mine the organic matter inside of the skull. She says all of the resources are highly valued in black markets across the galaxy.

"So they're mining the insides of a giant head... that's not morbid at all." Sam said.

Gamora says that its illegal and dangerous work that's only suitable for outlaws.

Peter says that he comes from a planet of outlaws and lists off some people including Billy the kid, John Stamos and Bonnie and Clyde.

"How is John Stamos an outlaw?" Peter asked.

Drax says that Earth sounds like a place he'd like to visit.

Peter says he should.

"Maybe that's not such a good idea." Scott said.

A group of kids walk up to them. Peter Drax, Rocket, Groot and Gamora to watch their wallets.

One of the kids asks if they can spare any units.

Rocket tells them to get out of there. Groot grows a flower and gives it to the girl.

Everyone smiled at Groot's kindness. "That's nice."

They walk toward a bar. Rocket asks if that's where her buyer is.

Gamora says that they need to wait there for his representative.

A bouncer throws a patron out of the bar. The bouncer tells him to get out.

Drax says that this isn't a respectable establishment.

"What did you expect for a place with no regulations?" Howard asked.

Drax asks what they're supposed to do while they wait.

"I'm sure you'll find something to keep you busy." Gamora said.

Drax, Groot and Rocket are drinking and gambling. Drax cheers. Groot's face falls. One creature eats another. Drax says that his Orloni has won and he wins at all things.

"What kind of game is that?" Maria asked.

"Basically you bet on which Orloni you think will win and whoever bets on the one what won, wins the game." Rocket explained.

Drax says that they should pour more of that liquid into their bodies.

Rocket says that that is the first thing he's said that isn't bat-shit crazy.

"Well I guess that's one way to spend your free time." Rhodey said.

Peter and Gamora are on a balcony. Peter says that she wouldn't believe what they charge for fuel there and tells her that he might lose money on the job.

Gamora says that her connection is making them wait.

Peter says that its a negotiation tactic.

"Really, it seems to me that he's just trying to play this out." Natasha said.

Peter says that this is his speciality. He says that Gamora's is more 'stab stab those are my terms'. Gamora smiles.

Thor glanced at Loki. He was very much the same in that respect, stabbing people to get what he wants.

Gamora says that her father didn't stress diplomacy.

Peter asks if she means Thanos.

Gamora says that Thanos isn't her father. She says that he killed her parents in front of her when he took her home world.

Gamora frowned, once again having private information made public.

Everyone in the room felt deep sympathy for Gamora, it was one thing to take her, but it was another to murder her parents in front of her and take her.

Gamora says that Thanos tortured him and turned her into a weapon.

Natasha and Bucky once again felt that they could relate to Gamora on some level.

She says that when he said he was going to destroy an entire planet for Ronan she couldn't stand by and- she trails off.

"Let him do it." Everyone finished her sentence with a whisper.

She looks at Peter's Walkman and asks why he would risk his life for it. 'Fooled Around and Fell in Love' starts playing.

Peter says that his mother gave it to him. He says that she liked to share all of the pop songs she grew up with with him.

Everyone smiled.

He says that he happened to have it on him when he left Earth.

"Its actually very sweet, that you still have it... as like a memory of her." Gamora said.

Gamora asks what he does with it.

Peter says that they can listen to it or dance.

Gamora says that she's an assassin and a warrior and she doesn't dance.

Peter says that there's a legend on Earth about people like her and it's called 'Footloose.'

"Not sure its a legend." Peter said.

He says that in it Kevin Bacon teaches and entire city with stick up their buts that dancing is the best thing there is.

"You turned a movie into an urban legend." Tony said.

"Its the greatest movie in history." Quill said.

"No it isn't." Peter yelled.

Gamora asks who put the sticks up their butts and says that that's cruel.

Peter says it's a phrase that people use.

"Okay, so I think that most people in space don't understand figures of speech." Hope said.

Peter puts the headphones on Gamora's head. She says that the melody is pleasant. She's talking louder than normal.

"Why is it that people always feel the need to yell when they have headphones on?" Ned asked.

"I think it's because we think that of we can't hear ourselves talk, other people can't hear us talk." Peter answered.

They start dancing, they look like they're about to kiss, then Gamora puts a knife to his throat and says that she knows who he is and she isn't some starry-eyed waif there to succumb to his pelvic sorcery.

"Pelvic sorcery? Is that a weird way of saying he's trying to get into your pants?" Clint asked. "You guys have some interesting phrases."

Peter says that that isn't what's happening. She lets him go. He sees Drax, Groot and Rocket fighting.

"This is why we can't have nice things." Shuri said.

Drax is punching Groot, who in turn wraps him in branches. Rocket pulls out a gun. Gamora drags Drax off of Groot and tells them to stop. Peter stops Rocket from shooting him.

{eter asks them what they're doing.

"Trying to kill each other." Everyone said.

Drax says that Rocket is speaking of affairs that he knows nothing about and calls him Vermin.

Rocket says that that's true.

Drax says that Rocket has no respect.

Rocket says that that is also true.

Peter tells them to hold on.

"They're children." Natasha said, referring to Drax and Rocket.

Rocket tells Drax to keep calling him vermin and says that he just wants to laugh at him like everybody else.

Peter tells Rocket that he's drunk and no one's laughing at him.

"They probably have before, though." Bucky said, quietly.

Rocket says that Drax thinks that he's some stupid thing. He says that he ask to get made. He says that he didn't ask to get torn apart then put back together repeatedly and turned into some little monster.

"You're not a monster, Rocket." Gamora said.

Peter tells Rocket that nobody's calling him a monster.

Rocket says that Drax called him vermin and Gamora called him rodent. He says to see if they can laugh with 6 good shots to the face.

"Okay so that's what we're not gonna do." Peter said.

Peter reminds Rocket about the 4 billion units and tells him to suck it up for another lousy night then he's rich.

Rocket says he can't promise that he won't kill all of them when this is over.

"And yet here we are." Gamora said, repeating Quill's words from earlier.

Peter says that that is exactly why none of them have friends because they're trying to kill someone 5 seconds after they meet.

"Normally I wouldn't agree with that idiot but he is right." Nebula said.

Drax says that they have traveled halfway across the quadrant and Ronan isn't any closer to being dead.

"So you just left?" Steve asked.

"I came back." Drax said.

Peter calls out to him. Gamora tells him to let Drax go because they don't need him.

Carina walks in and tells Gamora that she's there to fetch them for her master then she escorts them to the collector.

"That didn't go well, did it?" Maria asked,

Rocket sarcastically says that that isn't creepy at all.

"For once, I think I agree with him." Carol said.

Carina says that they have the galaxy's largest collection of relics, fauna and species of all manner.

"Species? This guy collects living beings?" Fury asked.

She presents them the collector and introduces him.

The collector turns around and tells Gamora that it's wonderful to meet her then he kisses her hand.

"Very eccentric." Natasha observed.

Gamora tells him to bypass the formalities and says that they have what she and him have discussed.

The Collector looks at Groot and asks what it is.

"I am Groot." The Collector says that he never thought he would meet a Groot. He says that Groot must allow him to pay him so he can own his carcass at the moment of his death.

"What the hell is wrong with this guy?" Tony asked.

"I am Groot." Rocket asks if he'd do it so The Collector could turn him into a chair.

The Collector asks Rocket if Groot is his pet.

"I am groot?"

"You're not a pet." The guardians responded.

Gamora says that they've traveled halfway across the galaxy to retrieve the orb.

The Collector says he'll see what they've brought. Peter takes the orb out, drops it, catches it and hands it to him.

"I'm starting to wonder if you do stupid things like that on purpose or not." Rhodey said.

Drax notices a man making a call asking about quarnyx batteries. He holds a knife to the man's throat and tells him to send a message for him.

"What is it with you people and holding knives to people's throats?" Clint asked.

The Collector is giving them a presentation. He tells them that before creation there were 6 singularities.

A few people looked ready to ask questions, Nebula beat them to the answer. "The infinity stones." She said.

The orb starts to open, projections start. He says that when the universe exploded into existence the remnants of the singularities were forged into concentrated ingots called Infinity Stones. He says that the stones can only be brandished by those with extraordinary strength.

"And Thanos wants all of them." Gamora said.

Groot. touches the projection of the tesseract, the Aether is next to it. A being holds the power stone in a staff, he clams it to the ground, the shockwave covers the whole planet. The Collector says that the carriers of the stones can use them to mow down civilizations like wheat in a field.

Everyone looked at the screen in horror, of what these stones could do in the wrong hands.

Peter says that there's a little bit of pee coming out of him.

"You're not the only one." Scott said.

The Collector says that a group was able to share the energy of the stone amongst themselves for a moment but then were quickly destroyed by it,

The original guardians all glanced at each other, remembering when they did that and were not destroyed by it.

The orb opens, revealing a glowing purple stone. The Collector says that its beautiful beyond compare.

"As most deadly things are." Natasha said.

Rocket says that they're very fascinated but they'd like to get paid now.

The Collector asks how they would like to be paid.

Rocket says they'd like to be paid in units. He goes to get their money, Carina walks toward the stone.

"Oh no."

The Collector tells her to stand back.

Carina tells him that she won't be his slave any longer. She grabs the stone. The room starts being destroyed. Grot picks up Rocket and runs. Carina dies and the building is destroyed.

"Oh my god." Everyone (Save for the guardians) whispered in horror.

Gamora and Peter sit up, eyes wide. Gamora rushes to close the orb.

"And you sent the reality stone to him?" Thor asked Loki.

"I didn't exactly have many options and it could not stay on Asgard." Loki responded.

Gamor asks herself how she could think that The Collector could contain what was in the orbb.

Rocket asks her why she still has it.

Peter asks if they're supposed to leave it in there.

Rocket says that he can't believe Peter had it in his purse.

"Not a purse." Quill mumbled.

Peter says that it isn't a purse it's a knapsack.

Gamora says that they need to bring the orb to the Nova Corps because they might be able to contain it.

Rocket says that they're wanted by the Nova Corps and tells them to give it to Ronan.

"No!" Everyone yelled.

"Are you crazy!?" Strange asked.

Peter asks if they would do it so Ronan could destroy the galaxy.

Rocket asks what the galaxy has ever done for him then asks why he would want to save it.

Peter says that he' sone of the idiots who lives in it.

"The most logical argument I've heard so far." T'Challa said. Everyone agreed, if that wasn't a good reason to save the galaxy, they didn't know what was.

Gamora tells Peter that the stone can't get into Ronan's hands. She says that they need to get back on his ship and give it to the Nova Corps.

"She's right." Natasha said.

Peter says that they could give it to someone who won't arrest them and they could get some money out of it. He says that its a good balance between both points of view.

"Are you kidding me!?" Fury yelled.

Gamora calls him despicable, dishonorable and faithless. She sees a fleet of Ronan's ships.

Drax is standing with his knives out and says that he shall meet his for and destroy him.

Peter asks if he called Ronan.

"What the hell is wrong with you!?" Everyone yelled.

The ships start landing. Yondu is there as well, he tells Peter not to move.

"And now there's that guy too." Scott said.

Gamora and Peter start running, the ravagers chase them.

Ronan steps out of his ship. Drax greets him. Ronan asks him if he was the one who sent the message.

Drax says that he killed his wife and daughter.

"You're guys luck cannot get any worse." Clint said.

Gamora throws someone out of a ship. Quill, and Rocket all get into separate ships. Rocket says Groot can't fit and tells him to wait there and he'll be right back.

"Poor Groot."

Nebula sees the three ships departing. She says that Gamora is escaping with the orb.

Ronan walks away from Drax. Drax yells and tries to fight him.

Ronan orders Nebula to get the orb and he pushes Drax down.

"Shit." Everyone hissed.

He stands back up and they fight, Ronan throws him into a building.

Everyone cringed. "Damn."

Quill, Gamora and Rocket are being perused by Nebula, who targets them. Nebula says that the orb is in the farthest pod and says to bring it down. Gamora's ship is being fired at. Drax continues to fight Ronan.

"This guy is going to be hard to beat." Bruce noticed.

Peter flies next to Rocket. Peter tells Rocket to keep the Necrocraft off of Gamora until she gets to the Milano.

Rocket asks how he's supposed to do that when they've got no weapons.

Peter says that the pods are industrial grade and practically indestructible.

"What is your plan?" Mantis asked.

Rocket says that they aren't indestructible against necroblasts.

Peter says that that isn't what he's saying. Rocket crashes into two of the ships, then into a third, effectively destroying it.

"Nice."

Gamora is still being chased. Peter lands on top of one of the ships, he rips the top off and flies his ship inside of it and says to let him borrow their ride and fires at the ships chasing Gamora.

"So you're only smart in a fighting situation." Tony observed.

Ronan puts Drax in a chokehold, then slams him on the ground. Ronan says he doesn't remember killing Drax's family and he won't remember killing Drax either.

"Psychopath."

Gamora is still being chased. She tells Peter that she's trapped and can't make it to the Milano. She says that she has to head out.

Peter says that the pods aren't meant to go out there. She gets into the upper atmosphere, Nebula follows.

"Oh no."

Nebula calls her a disappointment and tells her that she hated her least of all their siblings.

"How many others are there?" Bucky asked.

"Four." Gamora and Nebula answered.

Gamora tells her that Ronan will kill all of them if he gets the stone.

Nebula tells Gamora that she'd already be dead.

"You would really kill your own sister?" T'Challa asked.

Nebula blows up Gamora's ship.

"You don't still want her dead... do you?" Thor asked.

"I never did to begin with. I wanted to prove to Thanos that I was worthy of being his daughter, just as she was." Nebula answered.

Peter stares at Gamora, who is floating in space. The orb is brought upon Ronan's ship.

"No."

Ronan tosses an unconscious Drax into a tub of liquid. Nebula tells Ronan that it's done. Peter continues to stare at Gamora's body.

Everyone looked at the screen, sadness in their eyes.

Rocket tells Peter that her modifications will keep her alive for a few more minutes but they can't do anything to save her. He says that they're going to be in the same boat in a second because the pods aren't meant to be out there.

Peter swears.

"You're gonna save her." May said.

He records a message for Yondu and gives him his coordinates.

Rocket asks him what he's doing.

Peter says that he's outside of Knowhere tells Yondu to get him if he's still there. He leaves the pod and flies to Gamora.

Everyone smiled a bit at Quill's selflessness, definitely not expecting it from him.

Rocket tells him to get back in his pod and says that he can't fit two people in there and says he'll die. He puts his mask on Gamora. The ravagers find them, they're pulled into the ship.

Everyone looked relieved, but also worried for what the ravagers were going to do to them.
