'My Sweet Lord' by George Harrison is playing. Ego's ship flies up to a planet. 'Ego's Planet' appears on the screen.
"He has his own planet?" Thor asked.
"I guess you could say that." Quill said.
The ship lands and Quill, Ego, Gamora, Mantis and Drax exit on a smaller pod. Ego welcomes them to his world.
Quill asks if he has his own planet.
Ego says it isn't any larger than Earth's moon.
Drax recognizes his humility and says he is also extraordinarily humble.
"Did he really just say that?" Natasha asked.
"Bit of a contradictory sentence you got there." Tony said to Drax.
Drax pops one of the floating bubbles and laughs when smaller bubbles form from it.
"That's amazing." Ned said.
They arrive at a building, the camera pans out to get a view of the landscape.
"It's beautiful." Hope said.
Gamora says Ego owns a planet and can destroy 2 dozen space ships without a suit and asks what he is.
Ego tells her he's a Celestial.
"That explains a lot." Valkyrie said.
Quill asks if he means like a God. Ego says it's a small 'g' at least on the days he's feeling as humble as Drax.
"Which isn't humble at all." Pepper said.
"What do you mean?" Drax asked. "I'm very humble."
"Yeah because bragging about being humble is a great way to show your humility." Natasha said, sarcastically.
"Well how else are people supposed to know of my humility?" Drax asked.
They walk into the building and stop at a display of a brain. Ego says he doesn't know where he came from and the first thing he remembers is flickering adrift in the cosmos utterly and entire alone.
"Damn."
He says over millions of years he learned to control the molecules around him. The brain projection forms a planet.
"Millions of years? How old is he?" Rhodey asked.
Ego says he grew smarter and stronger and he continued building from there the very planet that they walk on layer by layer. They walk up to another display which forms the planet.
"He built the planet?" Sam asked, incredulously.
Ego says he wanted more because he desired meaning.
"Most do." Fury said.
He says he thought there must be some life in the universe besides him and says he set himself a task to find it. He says he created what he imagined biological life to be like down to the most minute detail. The new display forms Ego's body.
"Wow."
Drax asks if he made a penis.
"What the hell, Drax?" Everyone asked.
Gamora asks Drax what's wrong with him.
Drax asks how Ego could make a baby with Meredith if he's a planet. He says Ego would smush her.
Quill says he doesn't need to know how his parents did that.
Drax asks why.
"What do you mean 'why'?" Happy asked.
Drax says his father would tell the story of impregnating his mother every winter solstice.
Quill says that's disgusting.
Drax says it was beautiful and Earthers have hang-ups.
"Because we don't want to hear about our parents having sex?" Strange asked
Ego tells Drax that he has a penis and it isn't half bad.
"I wish I never had to hear that." Nebula said.
Ego says he also has pain receptors and a digestive system and all the accompanying junk. He says he wanted to experience what it meant to be human as he set out amongst the stars.
"Why human? There are probably thousands of other biological life forms he could've taken." Carol said.
Ego says he found life and realized he wasn't alone in the universe after all.
Quill asks when he met Meredith.
They walk over to a display of Meredith and Ego. Ego says that he first experienced love with Meredith and he called her his river lily.
Quill squeezed his eyes shut and clenched his fists in anger at Ego, remembering what he did.
Ego says Quill came from that love and says he searched for Quill for so long. Ego says he knew Quill was the son of the woman he loved when he heard of a man from Earth who held an Infinity Stone without dying.
"Or because you discovered I was the only one of your progeny that inherited your powers." Quill muttered.
Quill asks why Ego left Meredith if he loved her. Ego hesitates.
"Yeah... why did he leave if he loved her as much as he says he did?" May asked.
Groot is in a cage on the Ravager ship. On of the ravagers taunts him.
"Poor Groot." Shuri said, sadly.
Yondu is tied up in a chair. The ravagers lock another ravager in a cage, the eject the man from the ship, he freezes to death.
Everyone's eyes widened at the Ravagers' brutality.
The camera pans to show many more frozen ravagers.
"That's just... wrong on so many levels." Scott said.
They start dragging another Ravager away, he begs Yondu to help him.
Taserface walks up to Yondu and blames him for killing the others because le led them down the wrong path. He calls Yondu weak and punches him in the face.
Everyone flinched, not expecting that.
Tasterface calls Yondu stupid and hits him again. Taserface says it's time for the Ravagers to rise to glory again with a new captain- taserface.
Everyone started laughing. "His name is taserface?" Hope asked through her giggles.
"Oh, I almost feel bad for him because of that." Rhodey said and cackled.
Rocket starts laughing then apologizes and asks if his name is really Taserface.
Taserface says it is.
Rocket asks if he shoots tasers out of his face.
Taserface says it's metaphorical.
"Not a very good metaphor." Tony said.
Rocket asks what it's a metaphor for. Taserface says it's a name that strikes fear into the hearts of anyone who hears it.
"But does it though?" Clint asked.
"Also, that is not a metaphor." Tony said.
Rocket mocks him.
Taserface pulls out a knife and tells him to shut up.
"Hey, there's no need for violence man, all he did was make fun of your ridiculous name." Peter said.
Taserface grabs Yondu's throat and says he's waited a long time for this.
Rocket laughs again and says that he keeps imagining Taserface waking up in the morning looking in the mirror and in all seriousness saying to himself 'You know what would be a really kick-ass name? Taserface!'
Everyone started laughing again. "He could have chosen any name and he chose Taserface." Maria laughed.
Rocket says that's how he hears Taserface in his head and asks if his second choice was 'Scrotum-Hat.'
"Not Scrotum-Hat." Peter snickered.
"I can't take this, it's too funny." Shuri laughed.
Taserface holds the knife to Rocket and says they're killing him first.
Rocket says dying is certainly better than having to live an entire life as a moronic shitbag who thinks Taserface is a cool name.
"All I see are facts." Ned said.
Nebula tells them that that's enough killing for the day.
One of the Ravagers recognizes her as the daughter of Thanos.
"They didn't notice that when they brought you on board?" Gamora asked.
"They're all idiots." Nebula said.
Taserface says he thought Nebula was the biggest sadist in the galaxy.
Nebula says that was when Thanos was still paying her bills and tells him that Ayesha wants Rocket alive and calls him a fox again.
"Not a fox." Rocket muttered.
Nebula says Yondu has bounties on his head on his head in 12 Kree provinces and says she is not as easy a mark as an old man without his magic stick or a talking woodland beast.
"Magic stick?" Everyone asked.
Nebula says she wants 10% of their take along with a couple more things.
"Like what?" Thor asked, warily.
Nebula puts a hand on. Kraglin tells her that they have a whole box of hands if the one she has doesn't work out.
"I'm sorry, did you say 'whole box'?" Peggy asked.
Nebula says the hand is fine.
Kraglin asks her if she thinks the Kree will execute Yondu.
Nebula says the Kree consider themselves merciful and his death will be painless.
"So he'll be executed." Clint said.
Kraglin shows her a ship and says its the best one they have and the location of Ego's planet is in the nav.
"Why would you want to go there?" Howard asked.
"You'll find out." Nebula said.
Kraglin says they'll wire her the 10% once it's paid and asks what she'll do with her share.
Nebula says that Thanos would have Gamora and her battle one another in training as children and every time Gamora prevailed Thanos would replace a part of her with machinery.
"That's... horrible." Bruce said.
Nebula says Thanos claimed he wanted her to be Gamora's equal. She says Gamora won again and again and again and never once refrained.
"Nebula, I am so sorry for what I caused you." Gamora said, tears in her eyes.
"This Thanos guy, sounds like a real monster." Tony said.
"You have no idea." Nebula said.
Nebula says after she murders Gamora she'll buy a warship with every conceivable instrument of death and hunt Thanos like a dog and tear him apart slowly, piece by peace until he knows some sembalance of the profound and unceasing pain she knows every single day.
Everyone looked at Nebula with a new found sympathy. She was from from the person that they thought she was after seeing her work with Ronan.
Nebula just wanted to win at least once, but she never could. Loki found that he could relate to Nebula in that respect. Nebula had always come in second to Gamora and he had always come in second to Thor.
Kraglin says he was talking about a pretty necklace or a nice hat, something that would make other girls go 'ooh, that's nice'.
"Why would I want that?" Nebula asked.
Kraglin wishes Nebula happy trails and pats her shoulder. Nebula wipes her shoulder off and walks to the ship.
"And now you have to deal with her." Clint said.
Ego and Quill are in a garden in front a of a statue of Meredith.
"He built a statue of her?" Scott asked.
Quill says Meredith told everyone Ego was from the stars and says she had brain cancer so everyone just thought she was delusional. Quill tells Ego that he'd love to believe all of this but he left the most wonderful woman ever to die alone.
"Meredith didn't deserve that." Steve said.
"No, no she didn't." Quill said, sadly.
Ego says he didn't want to leave her. He says his form will wither and perish if he doesn't return to the planet and the light within it regularly.
Quill asks why he didn't come back and asks why he sent Yondu.
Ego says he couldn't bear to set foot on an Earth where Meredith was dead.
"Liar." Natasha said. "He's emotionally manipulating you."
"I wish I realized that sooner." Quill said.
Ego says Quill can't imagine what that's like.
"What an asshole." Tony said.
Quill says he knows exactly what that's like because he had to watch her die.
Ego says he's made many mistakes over the millions of years he's lived but Quill isn't one of them.
"But the others were." Gamora sayd, cryptically.
Ego begs Quill to give him the chance to be the father Meredith would want him to be. Ego says there's a lot he needs to teach Quill about the planet and the light within.
Everyone looked at Ego with a newfound suspicion, wondering if he was really the person he seemed to be, and based off of what they've overheard the Guardians say, he wasn't.
Ego says they're a part of Quill.
Quill asks what he means.
Ego tells him to hold out his hands, close his eyes and concentrate. He tells him to take his brain to the center of the planet. Energy sparks from Quill's hands, before quickly fading.
"You have powers?" Everyone asked.
Ego tells him to relax, concentrate and bring it back. Quill does. Ego tells him to shape it and feel the energy. Quill makes a ball. Ego tells him he's home and they start playing catch with the energy ball.
"Being the father you always wanted." Bruce said.
"And I fell for it." Quill sighed.
Drax and Mantis are on the stairs. Drax asks how she got to this weird dumb planet.
Mantis says Ego found her orphaned on her homeworld in her larva state. She says Ego raised her and kept her as his own.
"He adopted you?" Loki asked.
Drax asks if she was a pet.
Mantis says she supposes.
Drax says people usually want cute pets and asks why Ego would want a hideous one.
"Drax." Everyone said, affronted.
Mantis asks if she's hideous.
"Mantis, don't listen to him. You're not hideous." Gamora said.
Drax says she's terrifying to look at but that's a good thing. Drax says that when you're ugly and someone loves you, you know they love you for who you are.
"That's actually very sweet." Natasha said. "I'm surprised it came from you of all people."
Drax says beautiful people never know who to trust.
Mantis says she's grateful to be ugly.
"You're not ugly." Quill said.
Drax says the pools remind him of a time when he took Camaria to the forgotten lakes of his homeworld and says that she was like Mantis.
Mantis asks if she was disgusting.
Drax says she was innocent. Mantis touches Drax's arm and starts crying.
Despite only seeing Mantis' reaction to Drax's thoughts, everyone felt sympathy for Drax. His antics made it easy for them to forget that he was just a man who lost his family.
Mantis tells Drax that there's something she needs to tell him.
Gamora walks out and asks what's going on.
Drax says Mantis is his new friend and calls her a gross bug lady.
"Dude." Rhodey said.
Mantis says she's learning many things like she's a pet and ugly.
Gamora says she isn't ugly.
Drax asks what Gamora's talking about and gestures to Mantis.
Everyone just sighed.
Gamora asks Mantis if she can show them where they'll be staying. They start walking. Gamora asks why there aren't any other beings on the planet.
"Yeah, I'm kind of wondering the same thing." Strange said.
Mantis says the planet is Ego and a dog wouldn't invite a flea to live on it's back.
Gamora asks if Mantis isn't a flea.
Mantis says she's a flea with a purpose and says she helps Ego sleep.
Gamora asks what she was about to tell Drax before she walked out.
"Suspicious." Maria said.
"Wouldn't you be?" Gamora asked.
Mantis says she wasn't about to say anything and continues walking and says their quarters are that way. Gamora and Drax follow her.
