Thor crashes into a garbage pile on Sakaar. A piece of debris falls out of a portal and he gets out of the way.
"Is this some sort of... trash planet?" Clint asked.
"Yes, actually." Valkyrie answered.
A ship land near Thor, some Sakaarans get out and ask if he's a fighter or if he's food.
Thor says he's just passing through.
The Sakaarans decide that Thor's food.
"I am not food." Thor protested.
Thor tries to summon Mjolnir, before he remembers it's broken.
Thor looked down, sadly.
Thor fights off 3 Sakaarans before one of them traps him in an electric net. The Sakaarans start hitting Thor.
"Brutal."
Valkyrie lands her ship across from them. She steps out, finishes her drink, claims Thor then falls off the ramp.
"That's... you." Bruce noted, looking at Valkyrie.
"That's me." Valkyrie confirmed.
The Sakaarans go hit Thor again. Valkyrie tells them to wait and says that Thor is hers and if they want him they'll have to go through her.
The Sakaaran says they've already got him.
Valkyrie says she'll go through them.
The Sakaaran makes a comment about her being more food.
"I'm not food either." Valkyrie said.
Valkyrie activates the guns on her ship with her gauntlets and shoots all of the Sakaarans.
"Efficient." Nebula said.
"That ship is the coolest thing ever." Shuri said.
"I know right." Peter said.
"So cool." Ned agreed.
A lingering Sakaaran runs toward Valkyrie who just throws him someplace else. Thor thanks her. Valkyrie throws an obedience disk at his neck and uses it to electrocute him then drags him onto her ship.
"What the hell is that thing?" Scott asked.
"An obedience disk." Valkyrie answered.
Valkyrie flies toward the city, Thor wakes up. Valkyrie, over a radio, says she needs clearance and an audience with the boss and says she has something special.
"Who's the boss?" Thor asked.
Thor asks where she's taking him then introduces himself and says he needs to get back to Asgard. Valkyrie sarcastically apologizes and electrocutes him again, then docks her ship.
"I just find it hilarious that the famed God of Thunder is taken out so easily by electricity." Clint said, laughing.
On Asgard, Hela is talking to the Einherjar. She says it's come to her attention that they don't know who she is.
"Odin tried to cover it up, like all his other mistakes." Loki muttered.
Hela introduces herself and says she was the commander of the legions of Asgard, the rightful heir to the throne and the Goddess of Death. The Einherjar get in fighting positions. Hela says Odin and the princes are dead.
"Except... the princes aren't dead." Quill said. "Ot at least one of them isn't."
Hela says Asgard was once the seat of absolute power in the cosmos and their supremacy was unchallenged but Odin stopped at nine realms.
"Absolute power corrupts." Peter said. "Odin probably saw that and realized he needed to stop."
She says their destiny is to rule all others and she's there to restore that power. She tells them to kneel before her and rise to the ranks of her conquest.
"So... she wants to rule the cosmos?" Thor asked.
Hogun says whoever she is, she needs surrender or they'll show no mercy.
Hela asks if he listened to a word she said.
Hogun says this is her last warning.
Hela says she thought they'd be happy to see her.
"Why would they be happy to see you? You murderous hag." Valkyrie said.
Hogun pulls out his mase. Hela's headdress forms. Hogun and the Einherjar attack, Hela throes blades at Hogun, who hits them away, then she kicks Hogun through a wall. The Einherjar attack and Hela slaughters all of them and blows up the skiffs.
Everyone watched, horrified at her brutality.
"She just slaughtered an entire army without even breaking a sweat." Drax commented.
Hela walks around the bodies and says she's missed this and says that good soldiers dying because they couldn't see the future is a shame.
Hela notices Hogun is still alive and asks if he had a change of heart.
Hogun tells her to go back to whatever cave she came out of.
"I wish she would." Sam said.
Hogun calls her an evil demoness and draws a knife. Hela kills him and tells Skurge that they should see her palace.
Loki gasped, too shocked to say anything. He knew that the warriors three didn't survive, but that didn't make seeing each of their deaths any easier.
"No." Thor choked, tears in his eyes. "She will pay for that."
Someone crawls up the cliff to the observatory and takes out the sword.
"I hope that was Heimdall." Thor said.
Thor waked up, strapped to a chair. A female voice tells him not to fear because he's found and he's home and there's no going back because no one leaves this place.
"I don't like the sound of that." Happy said.
Thor struggles. Projections of the universe appear and the voice says this place is Sakaar and says Sakaar lives on the edge of the know and unknown and is the collection point for all lost and unloved things like them.
"So... the lost and found but in space." Ned said.
The voice says Thor's significant and valuable on Sakaar. The voice says Thor is loved an no one loves him more than the Grandmaster.
Loki choked on his own spit and started coughing.
"Are you good..." Tony asked after a moment.
The voice says the Grandmaster is the first lost and first found and he's the creator of Sakaar and father of the Contest of Champions. The voice says Thor's now something when Thor was nothing and Thor's the property of the Grandmaster.
"Sounds kind of... sketchy." Shuri said.
The voice says Thor will meet the Grandmaster in 5 seconds and tells him to prepare because he's now meeting the grandmaster. Thor screams and the projections disappear. Sakaarans stand around him.
"That scream was the best thing I've ever heard." Clint said.
"I'm never going to let you live that down, I hope you know that." Loki said to Thor.
The Grandmaster looks at Thor and says he's wonderful before asking if Thor's a 'he.' Valkyrie confirms.
Grandmaster says he loves when she comes to visit because she brings the best stuff.
"That's the grandmaster?" Steve asked, disbelieving.
"He looks kind of like the Collector." Rhodey said.
"They're brothers." Gamora said.
Grandmaster asks Topaz what he always says about Valkyrie when they talk and says it starts with a 'B.'
Topaz calls Valkyrie trash.
Grandmaster denies and asks if Topaz was waiting to call her that.
"I'm willing to bet she was." Valkyrie.
Grandmaster says that didn't start with a 'B.'
Topaz calls Valkyrie a booze hag.
"Wow, Topaz must really not like you." Quill said.
"She didn't." Valkyrie said.
Grandmaster says he was thing 'best' because he always says she's the best and says that she brought him his beloved champion.
Topaz says he says that every time Valkyrie's there.
Grandmaster asks what Valkyrie brought. Valkyrie says she brought a contender.
"Contender for what?" Thor asked.
Grandmaster says he wants to get a closer look. Topaz pushes Grandmaster's chair closer.
"Is he for real? He couldn't just walk over there?" Sam asked.
Grandmaster tells Topaz to pay Valkyrie.
Thor tells them to wait and says he's not for sale, then breaks the restraints, Valkyrie electrocutes him.
Grandmaster makes a comment about Thor being a fighter.
Valkyrie says she'll take 10 million for him.
"That's steep." Rocket said.
Topaz says she's dreaming.
Grandmaster tells her to transfer the units.
The units get transfered, Valkyrie walks off. Thor tells her she'll pay for that.
Valkyrie says she got paid for it.
"True."
Grandmaster walks up to Thor and asks who he is.
Thor says he's the God of Thunder, then raises his fists and his fingers spark.
Grandmaster says he didn't hear any thunder and asks if sparkles came out of his fingers.
"Sparkles?" Thor asked, offended.
"God of Sparkles." Peter said.
Topaz says they've located the Grandmaster's cousin.
Grandmaster walks off and Thor's chair follows. Grandmaster says he thinks Thor will like this.
"I don't think I will." Thor said.
Thor's chair stops next to Carlo's Grandmaster greets Carlo and says he almost couldn't find him and asks if he's been hiding, then says he's officially pardoned from life and melts him with the melt stick. Thor is horrified by this.
"Oh god." Pepper said, horrified.
"That's messed up." Rocket said.
"What the hell is wrong with this dude?" Sam asked.
Grandmaster moves away and says he's stepping in it. Thor cringes at the smell.
Grandmaster asks Topaz what it smells like.
Topaz says it smells like burnt toast.
"Disgusting." Rhodey said.
"This man has issues." Bucky said.
Grandmaster asks what happened to his manners and says he never introduced himself. They go to a different room. Grandmaster introduces himself and says he presides over a little harlequinade called the Contest of Champions and people come from far and wide to unwillingly participate in it.
"You mean... you hire people to kidnap other people to unwillingly participate in this Contest of Champions." Steve said.
Grandmaster says Thor might be part of the new cast.
Thor says they're not friends and he doesn't give a shit about Grandmaster's games and says he's going back to Asgard.
Grandmaster calls it Ass-gard.
Thor notices Loki drinking and telling a group of people about his fall from the Bifrost.
"You're there!?" Everyone asked, shocked.
"Of course I am." Loki said. "I'm everywhere." To prove his point, he sent 3 illusions of himself to the other corners of the room, after a moment he let them fade.
"Why aren't you in a chair?" Thor asked.
"I'm too clever for a chair." Loki said.
Thor calls Loki over. Loki walks over to him while shushing him and asks what he's doing there.
Thor says he's stuck in a stupid chair and asks where Loki's chair is.
Loki says he didn't get one.
Thor asks Loki to get him out of his.
Loki says he can't.
"Why not?" Steve asked, not accusing just genuinely curious.
Loki says he made friends with the Grandmaster and gained his favor and says the Bifrost bought him there weeks ago.
Thor is confused and says he just got there.
"How does that work?" Tony asked.
"Time on Sakaar, works differently than you're used to." Valkyrie said.
Grandmaster asks what they're whispering about, startling them.
"Creep." MJ said.
Grandmaster says time works differently around these parts and on any other world he'd be millions of years old but on Sakkar- he finishes his sentence with a suggestive look. Loki glances at him. Thor shifts his gaze between them.
"Why do I feel like there's some underlying... thing between you and the Grandmaster?" Sam asked Loki.
Grandmaster asks Loki if he knows Thor and calls him Lord of Thunder.
Thor corrects him and says it's God of Thunder.
Loki says he's never met Thor in his life.
Thor says Loki's his brother.
Loki says he's adopted.
"Really?" Thor asked, unamused. Loki only shrugged in response.
Grandmaster asks Loki if Thor's a fighter.
Thor says if he takes the disk out of his neck he'll show him.
Grandmaster says if he wants to get back to Asgard, he can defeat his champion and win his freedom.
Thor says to point him in the direction of whoever's ass he needs to kick.
"You'll be pleasantly surprised to find out who's ass that is." Valkyrie said.
Thor gets thrown into a cell, he stands up and punches the door. Korg tells him to take it easy. Thor turns to look at him. Korg says he's the pile of rocks waving at him and says he's an actual being, introduces himself and says he's the leader in there.
"A kronan." Thor recognized.
Korg says he's made of rocks and tells Thor not to let that intimidate him and says he doesn't need to be afraid unless he's made of scissors. Meik forms scissors with his hands. Korg says that was a little rock paper scissor joke for him.
"Ha ha, rock man's got puns." Rhodey said.
Korg introduces his friend Meik and says he's an insect with knives for hands.
"Nice." Peter said.
Thor recognizes Korg as a kronan and asks how he got there. They start walking.
Korg says he tried to start a revolution but didn't print enough pamphlets so no one turned up except his mom and her boyfriend that he hates.
"Oh, poor Korg." Ned said.
Korg says he was forced to fight as a gladiator as punishment and says that he is planning another revolution and says he doesn't know if Thor would be interested in that. Thor runs ahead and appears back behind Korg seconds later.
"What?"
Thor is confused about the cell. Korg says the whole thing is a circle but not a real circle, more of a freaky circle.
Thor says that doesn't make sense.
Korg says nothing makes sense there and the only thing that does make sense is that nothing makes sense.
"That makes sense." Bucky said.
Thor asks if anyone's fought the Grandmaster's champion.
Korg says Doug has and calls out to Doug before saying that Doug is dead and says that anyone who fights the Grandmaster's champion perishes.
"That's... horrible." Mantis said.
Thor asks about him and says he's made of rock.
Korg says it's perishable rock. A pebble falls from Korg's face. Korg says he does smaller fights to warm up the crowd then asks if Thor's going to fight the champion.
"If that's what I need to do to earn my freedom then yes, I think I will." Thor said.
Thor says he'll fight the champion, win and get off Sakaar.
Korg says that's what Doug used to say then calls Thor 'New Doug.'
"I like this dude, he's nice, very positive guy." Quill said.
"Reminds me of Luis." Scott said.
Hela and Skurge walks through dead Einherjar in the palace. Hela asks if no one remembers her and if they haven't been taught their history.
They look at a mural that depicts Asgard after she was locked away. Hela scoffs at them and says Odin was proud to have it but he was ashamed of how he got it.
"That does sound like Odin." Loki said.
Hela throws blades at the mural, causing it to fall and break. The look up at the mural that was under it which depicts Asgard during her and Odin's reign of terror.
Everyone gasped. Shocked to finally see the truth about Odin.
Hela says they were unstoppable and says she was his weapon in the conquest that built Asgard's empire and one by one the realms became theirs but then her ambition outgrew his so he banished her and locked her away like an animal.
"I might not like our sister very much, but I can definitely understand where she's coming from and why she's doing this." Loki said. Most people in the room found that they agreed with that statement.
She says before that, Asgard's warriors were honored and were buried as heroes beneath the palace.
"Not weird at all." Peter said.
Hela and Skurge arrive in the weapons vault. Hela pushes over a fake infinity gauntlet and says most of the stuff in there is fake.
"Why does Odin have fake Infinity Stones?" Strange asked.
Hela calls the Casket of Ancient WInters weak. She says Surtur's crown is smaller than she thought it would be.
"You won't be saying that once you see what it can do." Loki said.
Hela says the Tesseract isn't bad before she finds the eternal flame and takes some of it in her palm. She grabs an axe and breaks through the floor before asking Skurge if he wants to see what true power looks like.
"I don't." Scott said.
Hela drops into the hole she made and finds where Asgard's warriors used to be buried. She sees Fenris and asks what they've done to him. "With the Eternal Flame you are reborn." She throws the flame on the floor and it turns green, the dead come to life. Hela says she's missed them.
"Oh my god."
