Skurge addresses the Asgardian and says that someone has stolen the Bifrost sword and tells them that there will be consequences if they don't say where it is.
"I don't like the sound of that." Steve said.
Hela points out someone in the group, the soldiers drag the woman forward. Skurge looms over her with his axe.
"He doesn't want to do it." Bucky observed.
"But Hela's going to make him do it anyway." Natasha added.
Hela urges Skurge on, just as Skurge lifts the axe someone tells him to wait and says he knows where the sword is.
A few people sighed, relieved that the woman wasn't going to die.
The commodore emerges from the wormhole, Thor, Bruce and Valkyrie are asleep. Slowly, they all wake up and look out at Asgard.
"Asgard is flat?" Tony asked.
"It looks beautiful from this point of view." Hope said.
Valkyrie steers the Commodore toward the palace and says she never thought she'd be back.
Bruce says he thought it'd be nicer, and says it's not that it isn't nice but it's on fire.
"It does look better when it's not burning." Valkyrie said.
Valkyrie says there's heat signatures of people clustered together in the mountains and says Hela's coming for them.
"Shit."
Thor tells Valkyrie to drop him off at the palace and he'll draw her away.
Valkyrie asks if he's trying to get killed.
"Please don't die." Tony said.
Thor says all that matters is the people who're trapped and he needs Bruce and Valkyrie to get everyone off Asgard while he deals with Hela.
Bruce asks how they're supposed to do that.
Thor says he has a man on the ground.
"Heimdall."Fury remembered.
Heimdall tells the Asgardians that Hela is there. Hela walks up to the cave.
Everyone tensed in their seats, worried about what Hela might do to them.
Thor sets up a gun on the commodore. Valkyrie says she can take it from there.
Thor hands her Valkyrie armor and says he found it in the armory then wishes her luck.
"Thanks for the gift by the way." Valkyrie said, referring to the armor he gave her.
Valkyrie tells him not to die then says he knows what she means. The commodore flies off.
"Oh, you do care." Thor said.
"Shut up." Valkyrie retorted.
Thor walks into the throne room and spots the broken mural then looks up and sees the one that depicts Odin and Hela.
"Wait... is she holding Mjolnir?" Steve asked. "I didn't notice that earlier."
Hela uses her blades to break down the door of the stronghold, she walks in to find it completely deserted. Heimdall escorts the Asgardians to the Bifrost bridge.
"Damn, Hela may be fast but Heimdall's faster." Quill said.
"At least they're safe for now." Steve said.
Valkyrie puts on her new armor.
"The armor looks good on you." Gamora said.
Thor hits Gungnir on the ground of the palace 3 times. Hela walks up to him and removes her headdress and notes that Thor's still alive.
"I'm not so easily killed." Thor said.
Thor sarcastically says he loves what she's done with the place.
Hela says it seems that Odin's solution to everything was to cover it up.
"Quite literally in this case." Thor said.
Thor adds that it was also to cast it out.
"Also quite literally." Loki said.
Thor says Odin told her she was worthy and said the same to him.
Hela says Thor didn't know Odin at his best.
"I wouldn't call that his best." Sam said.
Hela says she and Odin drowned entire civilizations in blood and tears and asks where he thought all of the gold came from and says Odin decided to become a benevolent king, foster peace and protect life and have Thor.
"That's the difference between you and Odin. Odin was... ahamed and wanted to change, you were just wanted more." Thor said.
Thor says he understands why she's angry and says that she does technically have a claim to the throne because she's his sister. He says he would have someone else rule but it can't be Hela because she's the worst.
"Literally anyone would be better than her." Sam said. "Even him." He said and pointed at Loki.
Hela puts her headdress back on and tells Thor to get up because he's in her seat.
Shuri snorted. "I'm sorry, but that is such a sibling thing to say."
Thor stands up and says Odin once told him that a wise king never seeks out war.
Hela says he must always be ready for it. They leap toward each other.
"It's on, now." Scott said.
Heimdall gets the civilians to the bridge, he sees Fenris at the observatory and tells the civilians to retreat. Fenris charges toward them.
Valkyrie starts shooting him from the Commodore. Skurge and Hela's dead army stand in the way of the Asgardians.
"Oh no, that's not good." Quill said.
Thor impales Hela on Gungnir then rips it out and hits her with it, she heals and deflects each of his blows and says she expected more then twists Gungnir, causing Thor to fall.
"How are you going to defeat her when she's that strong." Maria asked.
Skurge asks Heimdall for the sword and the dead army charges toward him.
Hela chokes Thor and says the difference between them is that she's Odin's firstborn, the rightful heir and the savior of Asgard and Thor's nothing.
"Savior? You were trying to kill them all earlier, just so you could get your hands on the Bifrost sword." Pepper said.
Hela throws Thor on the ground and they start fighting, she knocks him down again and says it's so simple that even a blind man could see it then slices through Thor's eye and says he reminds her of Odin now.
Everyone gasped. "Oh my god." Thor said, horrified.
"That's... she just... your eye, she cut out your eye." Quill said.
Fury was suddenly reminded of the Flerken that clawed his eye out.
The Asgardians fend off the army of the dead, Valkyrie continues shooting Fenris before saying that he won't die. Fenris charges toward the citizens.
"Shit..."
Bruce says everything's going to be alright now and says he's got this and asks if she wanted to know who he was.
Valkyrie asks what he's talking about.
Bruce says she'll see and jumps out of the ship and lands face first on the bridge.
Everyone winced. "Don't think that worked out how you wanted." Tony said.
Fenris sniffs him and continues charging at the Asgardians. Seconds later, Hulk drags him away and roars. Valkyrie looked at him in realization.
"Surprise." Bruce said, though it wasn't really much of a surprise at all.
Fenris bites Hulk's arm and they both fall into the water. The ship starts crashing, Valkyrie flies it away.
Hela slams Thor into the balcony and says no one's going anywhere and says she'll get the sword even if she needs to kill all of them to do it.
"You're a madwoman." Wanda said.
"And she called herself 'Asgard's Savior'." Strange said, disgusted.
The Asgardians continue fending off the dead army. The commodore crashes into the bridge. Heimdall kills 2 soldiers, a 3rd kicks him down. Korg kills the soldier, introduces himself and Meik and says they're going to jump on a spaceship and leave and asks if Heimdall wants to come.
"Thank god for Korg." Clint said.
"Perfect timing." Coulson said.
The Statesman approaches the bridge. Loki steps out and says their savior is there.
"Little over the top don't you think?" Tony asked.
"I never thought I'd say this, but thank god you're there." Rhodey said.
Thor smiles and laughs a little. Hela stabs him.
Loki gets off the ship and asks if the Asgardians missed him then tells everyone to get on the ship.
Loki walks up to Heimdall who welcomes him home and says he saw Loki coming.
Loki says of course he did and they start fighting the dead army.
"I still can't believe he welcomed me back after everything I've done to him." Loki said.
Hela rips the blade out of Thor and says it was a valiant effort but he never stood a chance.
"Won't make me give up." Thor said.
Hela chokes Thor and says she isn't a queen or a monster but she's the Goddess of Death and asks Thor what he's the god of. Thor has a vision of Odin.
"Here's dad ready with some advice." Clint said.
Odin says even when Thor had 2 eyes he'd only see half the picture.
Thor says Hela's too strong and he can't beat her without Mjolnir.
Odin asks if he's the God of Hammers and tells him that Mjolnir was to help him control his power and it wasn't the source of it.
"So you were just channeling your powers through the hammer this whole time?" Steve asked.
"Apparently." Thor said.
Thor says it's too late because Hela's already taken Asgard.
Odin says Asgard was never a place and says Asgard is where their people stand and they need Thor's help.
Thor says he isn't as strong as Odin.
Odin says Thor's stronger than him.
"You're stronger than Odin?" Quill asked.
"I think he meant that I have the potential to be stronger than him." Thor said.
Thor opens his eyes. Hela asks what Thor's the God of. Lightning sparks around Thor's fingers and the sky darkens, then a bolt of lightning strikes the palace. Everyone looks shocked, Loki smirks.
"Holy shit!" Everyone yelled.
"That was awesome." Ned said.
"That's what I call a God of Thunder." Tony said.
"Right." Scott agreed, in awe.
Thor jumps down to the bridge, lightning still surrounds him. He lands and electrocutes a group of soldiers, then grabs 2 swords and starts slicing through them.
"Badass." Clint said.
"Definitely." Sam agreed.
Fireworks are set off from the Commodore, Valkyrie walks toward some soldiers and kills 2 with her sword.
Hulk stretches Fenris' jaw then pushes him down.
Loki dodges a blow from a soldier, trips it then stabs it in the heart.
"Everyone's a badass." Quill said.
Thor continues slicing soldiers and using lightning to kill them, he throws one and strikes some with lightning. Skurge watches and drops his axe.
"Finally coming around to the right side." Coulson said.
Korg shoots some soldiers, Heimdall kills some with his sword and Valkyrie does the same. Fenris has Hulk in his mouth and punctures his leg, making him bleed.
"Hulk bleeds green?" Bruce asked. "Interesting."
"That's only the second time Hulk's ever actually bled." Natasha noted.
Hulk punches Fenris off the edge of the planet.
"Well... that solves that problem." Rocket said.
Skurge, in disguise, walks with the Asgardians to get on the Statesman.
"Are they even going to accept him after everything? I mean... he was working for Hela." Gamora said.
Loki walks up to Thor who tells him that he's late.
Loki says Thor's missing an eye.
Valkyrie walks past them and says this isn't over.
"Far from it." Thor said.
They see Hela standing across from them. Thor says they should disband the Revengers.
Loki tells Thor to hit Hela with a lightning blast.
Thor says he just hit her with the biggest lightning blast in the history of lightning and it did nothing.
"How the hell are you going to beat her?" Peter asked.
Valkyrie says the just need to hold her off until everyone's on board.
Thor says it won't end there and says the longer Hela stays on Asgard the more powerful she grows and says she'll hunt them down so they need to stop her now.
"That won't be easy." Bruce said.
Valkyrie asks what they should do.
Loki says he isn't doing 'Get Help.'
Everyone snorted at that remark.
"I don't think that would work, anyway." Thor said.
Thor looks at Hela then at the remaining Asgardians and says Asgard isn't a place but a people then tells Loki that this wasn't about stopping Ragnarok but causing it and reminds him about Surtur's crown.
"You're gonna enact Ragnarok?" Steve asked.
"If it saves the people, yes." Thor said.
Loki says that's a bold move even for him then runs to the Commodore.
"Even he thinks it's too much." Clint said.
"Well, I definitely think that resurrecting a giant fire demon that is going to destroy the planet is a bold move." Loki said.
Thor summons his lightning and leaps tord Hela. She throws blades at him and he destroys them. They fight and Thor leaps over her. Valkyrie kicks her in the face, Hela throws her. Thor stands up and attacks Hela with lightning, Hela gets up and throws a blade at Thor.
"Damn, even when you've unleashed your full power you still can't beat her." Rocket said.
Thor flies the Commodore toward the palace and proclaims that it's madness.
"I agree, but it seems it's the only way to ensure our people's survival." Thor said, sadly.
Asgardians rush onto the Statesman, Skurge hides among. Thor and Valkyrie continue fighting Hela. Thor tells Heimdall to go. Hela stabs Thor in the chest and throws him.
"Ouch."
The statesman starts to fly up, Hela makes a giant spike come up from the ground.
"Oh no." Bruce said.
Loki runs through the weapons vault and grabs Surtur's crown, then spares a glance at the Tesseract.
"Loki." Thor warned.
The dead soldiers climb up to the Statesman, the Asgardians panic. A soldier kills one of them, Skurge pulls out Des and Troy and shoots the dead soldiers.
Everyone cheered for Skurge.
Skurge leaps off the ship as it takes off and shoots more soldiers before running out of bullets. He headbutts another soldier and slices through him with his gun. Hela kills him.
Everyone felt a pang of sadness at Skurge's death. "He did the right thing in the end." Scott said.
Loki puts Surtur's crown in the eternal flame. "With the Eternal Flame you are reborn." Surtur starts to come to life.
"Here we go." Sam said.
"No turning back now." Nebula said.
Valkyrie struggles to get up, Hela stalks toward her. Thor tells her that if she wants Asgard it's hers.
Hela says whatever game he's playing won't work.
"Do you want to wager that?" Thor asked.
Hela says they can't defeat her. Thor says he knows but Surtur can. Surtur grows through the top of the palace.
"He really is as big as a mountain." Steve said.
Valkyrie stands up and stabs Hela through the heart.
"My revenge." Valkyrie said.
Thor uses lightning to break through the bridge, Hela falls. Surtur tells Asgard to tremble before him because he's their reckoning and starts smashing buildings.
Thor, Valkyrie and Loki all watched sadly as Surtur destroyed their home.
Valkyrie says all that matters is that the people are safe.
Thor says they're fulfilling the prophecy.
Valkyrie says she hates the prophecy.
"Me too." Thor said, sullenly.
Thor says he does too but they had no choice. He says Surtur will destroy Asgard and that will destroy Hela so their people can live and they need to let him finish the job. Hulk leaps toward Surtur and punches him in the face.
"Honestly, I don't even know why I'm surprised." Bruce said.
Thor tells Hulk to stop. Surtur throws Hulk on to the bridge. Thor tells Hulk not to smash for once in his life. Hulk says there's a big monster.
"Who's supposed to be there." Loki said.
Valkyrie says they should go. Hulk runs toward them, picks them up and leaps onto the Statesman.
Hela emerges from the water on spikes and sends some spikes into Surtur. Surtur says he is Asgard's doom and plunges his sword into the planet.
"Oh my god." Wanda whispered.
The Asgardians watch from the Statesman. Korg says the damage isn't bad and they could build a new Asgard as long as the foundations are strong and says it can be a haven for all aliens of the Universe. The planet explodes. Korg says the foundations are gone.
Everyone gasped. The Asgardians had tears in their eyes, of course they knew that Asgard needed to be destroyed to save everyone but that didn't make seeing it any easier.
Thor asks what he's done.
Heimdall says he saved them from extinction and says Asgard isn't a place it's a people.
'Where are we going to go now?' Thor wondered
Thor pours himself a drink and looks at his eyepatch in the mirror.
Loki walks in and says the eyepatch suits him.
"It kinda does." Hope agreed.
"I think it looks pretty good." Tony said.
Thor says Loki might not be so bad after all. Loki agrees.
Thor says if Loki were here he might even give him a hug.
Thor throws the bottle stopper at Loki who catches it and says he's there.
Thor smiled.
"Now hug." Shuri demanded.
Thor walks through the crowd of Asgardians, who bow. Valkyrie presents him the throne, Thor sits. Loki walks in and stops next to Valkyrie.
Heimdall asks Thor where they should go.
Thor asks for suggestions then asks Meik where he's from.
Korg says Meik's dead.
"Oh..."
Korg says he accidentally stomped on Meik on the bridge and he's been carrying him around since because he felt guilty. Meik jerks to life. Korg says Meik is alive.
"I'm glad he's not dead." Thor said.
Korg asks what Thor's question was. Thor settles on going to Earth.
"Norway maybe?" Strange suggests.
Thor and Loki look out the window. Loki asks if he thinks it's a good idea to go to Earth.
Thor says he does because the people of Earth love him and he's very popular.
"I don't think that's what he meant." Tony said.
Loki rephrases his question and asks Thor if he thinks it's a good idea to bring him back to Earth.
Thor says it probably isn't and tells Loki not to worry because he feels that everything will work out fine. Thanos' ship appears in the window.
Loki instantly paled. Gamora and Nebulas' eyes widened.
"Who's ship is that?" Thor asked, worried.
"Thanos'." Loki, Gamora and Nebula answered.
"Thanos!?" Everyone panicked.
Grandmaster falls out of something on Sakaar, Sakaarans stand around him. Grandmaster says he's proud of them and says the revolution was a success and tells everyone to give themselves a pat on the back. None do.
"Weird guy." Sam said.
Grandmaster says he was a big part of it because you can't have a revolution without someone to overthrow and calls it a tie.
