A young child asks his father to tell him a story.

The father asks which one.

The boy says the story of their home.

"Wakanda?" Bruce guessed.

The man says millions of years ago a meteor of vibranium, the strongest substance in the universe, struck the continent of Africa.

"The strongest substance in the Universe?" Howard asked. "Wow."

The man says the strike affected the plant life around it and when the time of man came, 5 tribes settled on it and called it Wakanda and lived in constant war with each other until a warrior shaman received visions from the Panther Goddess Bast who led him to a heart-shaped herb which granted him superhuman strength, speed and instincts.

"Is that how the Black Panthers each got their powers then?" Sam asked.

"Yes." T'Challa confirmed.

The man says the warrior became the King, the first Black Panther and the protector of Wakanda. He says 4 tribes agreed to live under his rule but the Jabari tribe isolated themselves in the mountains.

"Why?"

The man says the Wakandans used vibranium to develop technology more advanced than any other nation.

"And you managed to hide it for so long, that's impressive." Fury said.

"Sounds like a place I'd like to visit." Tony said. Bruce, Ned and Peter made noises of agreement.

The man says that as Wakanda thrived, the lands around it descended into chaos and to keep the vibranium safe, the Wakandans vowed to hide in plain sight and keep the truth of their power. The son asks if they still hide. The man confirms. The son asks why.

"I guess that's reasonable enough, we've all seen what happens when Vibranium gets into the hands of the wrong people." Bruce said. "Remember Ultron?"

'1992 Oakland, California' appears on the screen, a group of kids are playing basketball. In a nearby apartment, 2 men plan a heist. They hear something and hide their guns.

"Who're they?" Natasha asked.

"The man in the purple shirt is Zuri, which means the other must be my uncle N'Jobu." T'Challa said.

'James' asks if it's the feds. Someone knocks on the door. 'James' looks through the peephole and says it's 2 Grace Jones looking girls and they're holding spears.

"The Dora Milaje." T'Challa noted.

N'Jobu says to open the door.

'James' asks if he's serious.

N'Jobu says they won't knock again.

"No, they probably won't." Okoye agreed.

'James' opens the door, 2 members of the Dora Milaje walk in. One of them, In Xhosa, asks who they are.

N'Jobu gives his name and says he's the son of Azzuri.

The Dora, in Xhosa, says to prove that he's one of them. N'Jobu shows her a marking on the inside of his lip.

"What is that?" Thor asked, genuinely curious.

"It is a marking that's given to the War Dogs of Wakanda." T'Challa said.

The lights go out and T'Chaka appears.

"Dramatic entrance" Loki commented.

N'Jobu kneels and greets his king before gesturing for 'James' to do the same then introduces 'James' and says he trusts him with his life so he'll stay with T'Chaka's permission. T'Chaka tells them to be at ease, removes his helmet and the Dora Milaje leave.

T'Challa and Shuri looked at their father sadly, memories of his death resurfacing.

N'Jobu and T'Chaka hug. T'Chaka asks how he's holding up and says he looks strong.

N'Jobu says he's in good health and asks how home is.

T'Chaka says it isn't good.

"What happened?" Steve asked.

T'Chaka says there's been an attack and shows him a hologram of Klaue.

"Him?" Wanda asked, remembering him from when she worked with Ultron.

T'Chaka says Klaue stole a quarter ton of vibranium and triggered a bomb at the border to escape and many lives were lost.

"What an asshole." Quill said.

T'Chaka says Klaue knew where they hid the vibranium and how to strike because he had someone on the inside.

N'Jobu asks T'Chaka why he's there.

T'Chaka says he wants N'Jobu to look him in the eye and tell him why he betrayed Wakanda.

"What?" T'Challa asked.

"It was him?" Clint asked.

"I wasn't expecting that." Maria said.

N'Jobu says he did no such thing.

T'Chaka, in Xhosa, asks 'James' to tell N'Jobu who he is.

Zuri introduces himself as the son of Badu and shows his marking.

"So he was like a spy?" Natasha guessed.

"I wasn't expecting that either." Maria said.

N'Jobu says Zuri lied to him and says he betrayed Wakanda and asks how he could lie to him like that.

T'Chaka tells N'Jobu to stand down and asks if he thought he was the only spy they sent.

"Spies?" Fury asked.

"They are called the War Dogs, and they gather intelligence from around the world." T'Challa informed.

Zuri hands T'Chaka some vibranium. T'Chaka tells N'Jobu that he'll return home and face a council and inform them of his crimes.

The kids playing basketball notice the Wakandan plane fly off.

"That must've shocked the hell out of those kids." Scott said.

'Present day' appears on screen. T'Challa watches the news A reporter says the nation of Wakanda is mourning the loss of the late King T'Chaka who was one of many confirmed dead after a terrorist attack at the United Nations.

Everyone was saddened, remembering the UN bombing.

The reporter says the suspect has been apprehended and a picture of Zemo is shown.

The Wakandans, Bucky, Tony and Steve all glared at Zemo, not forgetting what he did to them.

The reporter says Wakanda remains one of the poorest countries in the world that's fortified by mountain ranges and an impenetrable rainforest. She says Wakanda doesn't engage in international trade or accept aid.

"Damn, you guys have done a very good job at staying in the shadows." Clint said.

The reporter says the throne is expected to fall to T'Challa.

"And, now I am the king." T'Challa said.

'Sambisa Forest, Nigeria' appears on the screen. Okoye hovers the plane near some military trucks. T'Challa looks at a display of the trucks and tells Okoye that he can handle this one alone .

"What are you even doing?" Strange asked.

Okoye sets her spear down. T'Challa says he'll get Nakia out as quickly as possible. Okoye hands him 4 beads and tells him not to freeze when he sees her.

"What are those beads that You handed him?" Bruce asked Okoye, but didn't receive an answer.

T'Challa asks what she's talking about and says he never freezes.

"I'm going to guess that you have a thing for this Nakia." Hope said.

"Nat... I think he's gonna freeze." Cling whispered to Natasha.

T'Challa puts his helmet on, drops out of the plane and throws the disks at the trucks, causing them to crash.

"What is it with people jumping out of planes without parachutes?" Sam asked.

The soldiers get out of the trucks and wonder why they wont start, one of them tries to take the disk off but it doesn't budge, then tells them to get in defence positions.

One of them asks of they're under attack.

"Yes."

One of them guards a truck, a group of women sit in the back.

"Were they all kidnapped?" Peter asked. Okoye nodded, grimly.

A few soldiers walk through the jungle, a dog sear them starts barking, they look up and see T'Challa in a tree.

"It's on now." Shuri said.

Nakia gets out of the truck. One of the men gets thrown into a different truck. The soldiers start shooting. T'Challa quickly takes some out, Nakia hits one over the head.

"Nice." Gamora said.

T"Challa takes more out and throws a tire at one and goes to attack another one before Nakia stops him and says he's just a boy who got kidnapped as well.

"Assholes." Rhodey said, referring to the kidnappers.

Nakia tekes her robes off, T'Challa tries to say something before another kidnapper walks up to them. Okoye appears and knocks him out with a spear.

"You froze." Shuri said to her brother.

Okoye says he froze and walks away.

T'Challa takes his helmet off. Nakia asks why he's there and says he ruined her mission.

"I think he just... accelerated it, sort of." Scott said.

T'Challa tells her that T'Chaka is dead and he'll be crowned king tomorrow and wants her to be there.

Nakia nods then informs the others that they can go home and tells them to take the boy.

Okoye tells them not to speak of this, then they get on the plane and leave.

"Nice exit."

Okoye pilots the plane, Nakia holds T'Challa's hand. 'Wakanda' appears on the screen. Okoye informs them that they're home. T'Challa says this never gets old and they fly through the barrier.

Everyone was in awe, as they saw Wakanda for the first time.

"It's beautiful." Thor said, it reminded him of Asgard in some ways.

Okoye lands the plane and the 3 of them step out. Nakia curtizes before Shuri and Ramonda and gives her condolences.

Ramonda says it's nice to have her back with them.

Okoye asks Ayo to prepare Nakia for the ceremony. Ayo walks off with Nakia, T'Challa watches them go.

"You are hopeless." Shuri said.

Shuri asks Okoye if T'Challa froze.

Okoye says he was like an antelope in headlights. Shuri laughs.

Everyone laughed along with on-screen Shuri. T'Challa only rolled his eyes, but he was also smiling.

T'Challa asks them if they're finished. The Dora leave, T'Challa says he's surprised Shuri came to see him off before their big day.

Shuri says she's there for the EMP beads because she has an update.

"You invented those?" Tony asked.

"I did." Shuri confirmed, a little smug.

T'Challa says they worked perfectly.

"Doesn't mean they can't be improved." Shuri said.

Shuri says just because something works doesn't mean it can't be improved.

"Amen to that." Tony, Peter, Strange, Rocket and Bruce agreed.

T'Challa hands her the beads and she walks off. T'Challa says he can't wait to see what kind of update she makes to here ceremonial outfit.

Shuri flips him off. Ramonda scolds her, Shuri lowers her finger and apologizes.

Everyone laughed at that.

T'Challa asks how Ramonda is feeling.

Ramonda says she's proud and says she and T'Chaka would talk of this day all the time. She says T'Chaka is with them and it's T'Challa's time to be king.

"It is sometimes an overwhelming position." T'Challa said.

'London, United Kingdom' appears on the screen. Erik is looking at some artifacts in a museum. A guide greets him and asks if she can help him with something.

Erik says he's just looking at some artifacts.

"Who's he?" Coulson asked.

"Erik Stevens, also known as Erik Killmonger." T'Challa said, now tense.

Erik says they're beautiful and points to one, asking where it's from.

The guide says it's from the Bobo Ashanti tribe from what is present day Ghana and it's 19th century.

"Interesting." Pepper said.

Erik asks about another one.

The guide says it's from the Edo people of Benin and it's 16th century.

Erik walks to an axe and asks her to tell him about it.

"Is he testing her?" Wanda asked.

The guide says it is also from Benin and it's 7th century and she believes it's the Fula tribe.

Erik says it was taken by British soldiers in Benin but it's from Wakanda and it's made from Vibranium.

"How does he know that?" Vision asked.

Erik says he's going to take it off her hands.

The guide says the items aren't for sale.

Erik asks how she thinks her ancestors got them and if she thinks they paid a fair price.

"He's gonna steal it, isn't he?" Rocket asked.

Erik asks if they took it like they took everything else.

Everyone fell silent, not knowing what to say to that.

Sam, Rhodey, Fury and the Wakandans all empathized with Erik.

The guide asks him to leave.

Erik says she's had security watching him since he walked in but she's not checking what's in her body.

"What did he do?" Scott asked.

A few guards come up behind Erik. The guide falls to the floor as Erik says he thinks she might not be feeling too good then calls for help.

"He poisoned her." Maria noted.

One of the staff says she's going to take her break. The medics arrive, one of them is revealed to be Klaue.

The Wakandans all glared at Klaue, everyone else tensed upon seeing him.

The 2 'medics' shoot the security guards, leaving only one alive.

"Son of a bitch!"

Klaue tells him he can go if he doesn't tell anyone.

"He's lying, he wouldn't let him live." Loki said.

The guard runs, Klaue shoots him. Erik asks why Klaue didn't just shoot him right there.

Klaue says it's better to leave the crime more spread out because it makes them look like armatures.

"Damn he's right." Natasha said.

A guard watches them from the camera, the staff member from earlier looped the footage.

"Damn, they're good." Rocket said.

Klaue looks at the axe and says they'll see if Erik knows what he's talking about then breaks the glass, takes the axe out and cleans the rust off and tells Erik he's going to be rich.

Erik says Klaue better sell that quick.

Klaue says it's already sold.

"Wow."

Erik says the Wakandans will probably show up.

Klaue says it'll make his day and he can kill 2 birds with one stone.

The Wakandans scowled at Klaue.

Erik looks at another artifact. Klaue asks if it's also vibranium. Erik says it isn't but he's feeling it and he takes it. They wheel Erik out on a stretcher and into an ambulance and he kisses the 'staff member.'
