'Rubberband Man' by the Spinners is playing. 'Space' appears on the screen.
"Specific." Rhodey said, sarcastically.
In the Guardians' ship, Peter sings along to the song, Drax is asleep, Groot is playing video games and Gamora is lip-synching to the song.
Quill smiled at that.
Rocket asks why they're doing this again.
Gamora says it's a distress signal and someone could be dying.
"Wonder who sent that signal." Bucky said, already suspecting who it came from.
Rocket says he get's that then asks why they're doing it.
Quill says they're doing it because they're nice.
"Are we really?" Rocket asked.
Quill says whoever sent it may give them some 'cheddar-cheese' for their efforts.
Gamora says that isn't the point and Quill agrees then says if they don't pony up-
Drax finishes his sentence by saying they'll take their ship.
"But you already have a ship... why would you need a different one?" Scott asked.
Gamora looks up t Quill who just shakes his head. Mantis says they're arriving.
Quill tells them that this could be dangerous so they should put on their mean faces. Mantis grits her teeth.
"Mantis, I don't think Quill was being serious about that." Natasha said.
Quill tells Groot to put his game away and says he won't tell him again. Groot doesn't. "I am Groot." The guardians all make noises of shock.
"Whoa!" All the Guardians said.
"What did he even say?" Steve asked.
Quill says Groot has some acorns on him.
Rocket says ever since Groot got a little sap he's been a total d-hole and says he'll smash his game to pieces if he keeps it up.
"Wow... now I really wanna know what he said." Tony said.
"Don't worry about it." Rocket said.
The guardians come across the wreck of the Statesman. Bodies are floating around in space.
The Asgardians felt their hearts drop to the pit of their stomach in despair, not really wanting to be reminded of what Thanos did to them.
Mantis asks what happened.
Rocket says it looks like they aren't getting paid.
"Really? That's what's going through your head?" Gamora asked.
Thor crashes onto their window. Rocket says to get it off. Thor opens his eye.
"You're alive." Loki noted, relieved that his brother survived the wreck of their ship.
"I'm glad you're not dead." Valkyrie said. Thor glanced at her. "You know what I mean."
"How did he even survive that?" Quill wondered.
The guardians take Thor in and lay him on a table. Quill asks how the dudes still alive.
Drax says Thor isn't a dude but Quill is and says Thor's a handsome muscular man.
"Oh, thank you." Thor said, feeling complimented.
The guardians glanced at Drax. "Is there something you're not telling us, Drax?" Quill asked.
Quill says he's muscular.
Rocket asks Quill who he's kidding and says he's one sandwich away from fat.
Drax says Quill has put on weight then he gestures to his neck and stomach.
"Dude." Quill said, offended.
Quill asks Gamora if she thinks he's fat. Gamora doesn't answer.
Mantis reads Thor's emotions. She says he's anxious, angry and he feels tremendous loss and guilt.
Thor looked down, sadly.
Drax says Thor is like a pirate had a baby with an angel.
"I mean... you've all seen Thor's parents. Drax isn't that far off actually." Tony said.
Quill says this is a real wake-up call for him and he'll get a bow-flex and dumbbells.
Rocket asks Quill if he knows he can't eat dumbbells.
Everyone laughed at Rocket's remark. Quill just rolled his eyes.
Gamora feels Thor's arm and says his muscles are made of Coati metal fibers.
Quill asks her to stop massaging Thor's muscles.
"Jealous much?" Rocket asked, snickering.
Quill tells Thanos to wake Thor up, she does.
Thor gasps awake and stumbles across the ship before turning around and asking the Guardians who they are.
"The Guardians of the Galaxy." Quill answered.
Later, the Guardians and Thor stand around. Gamora says the entire time she knew Thanos he only had one goal which was to bring balance to the Universe by wiping out half of all life.
"Oh god." Peter said.
"Half of... all living things?" Bruce asked, anxiously.
Gamora says he would kill people planet by planet and massacre by massacre.
Drax says that included his own.
Gamora says if Thanos gets his hands on all 6 stones he could do it in the snap of his fingers. She snaps her fingers for emphasis.
"Half of all life gone at the snap of a finger." May whispered.
"He's a maniac." Sam said.
"Worse." Nebula said, grimly.
"We can't let him get those stones." Steve said.
"How do you propose we do that? You've seen how strong him and his... children are." Tony asked.
Thor comments abut Gamora knowing a great deal abut Thanos.
Drax says Gamora is Thanos' daughter.
Thor says her father killed his brother then he walks toward her.
"Oh here we go." Rhodey said.
Quill says Gamora is technically adopted and she hates Thanos as much as he does.
Thor puts his hand on her shoulder and says families can be tough.
"Not what I expected you to do." Clint said.
Thor says that before Odin died he told him that he had a half-sister that he imprisoned in Hel.
"And left us to deal with her." Loki muttered.
Thor says when Hela returned to Asgard she stabbed him in the eye so he had to kill her and says he feels her pain.
Quill says he feels her pain too and says that it's not a competition but he's been through a lot.
"Really? Because it seems like you're going to turn it into a competition." Bucky said.
Quill says his father killed his mother and he had to kill his father and says that was harder than having to kill a sister and he came out of it with both eyes.
"Are you really trying to argue over who has the most trauma?" Gamora asked.
Thor sets his soup down and says he needs a hammer not a spoon. He walks over to the door and asks how to open it before suggesting that it's a 4-digit code like a birthday.
"Are you seriously trying to take our pod?" Quill asked.
Rocket asks Thor what he's doing.
Thor says he's taking their pod.
"I mean... at least you're upfront about it." Rocket said.
Quill, in a deep voice, tells Thor that he won't be taking their pod.
Rocket asks Quill if he's making his voice deeper.
"He is!" Everyone laughed.
Drax says it's weird that Quill's intimidating the God-man.
Quill says he isn't.
Mantis points out that he did it again.
Quill says that's his voice.
"No it isn't." Rocket said, still laughing.
Thor asks Quill if he's mocking him.
Quill repeats the question to Thor.
"Now it's obvious." Sam said.
Thor says he did it again and tells him to stop.
Quill says Thor's trying to copy him.
"Pretty sure it's the other way around." Natasha said.
Thor tells Quill to stop doing that.
Gamora says that's enough and says they need to stop Thanos.
"There's no time for petty arguments." Gamora said.
"There seems to be a lot of those going around." Coulson said.
Gamora says they need to find out where Thanos is going next.
Thor says Thanos is going to Knowhere.
"Right. That's where you sent the Reality Stone isn't it?" Maria asked.
Mantis says he must be going somewhere.
Quill clarifies and says Knowhere is place and they've been there and it sucks.
"Yeah... it does." Rocket agreed.
Thor takes some food. Quill says that's their food.
Thor says it isn't anymore.
Everyone snorted at Thor's bluntness.
Gamora asks why Thanos would go to Knowhere.
Thor says that the Reality has been safe with the Collector for years.
"Not so sure about safe... especially when it comes to the Collector." Quill said.
Quill says the stone isn't safe with the Collector and only and idiot would give him a stone.
Thor says a genius might too.
"Hmm, or both." Fury said.
Gamora asks how Thor knows Thanos isn't going for one of the other stones.
Thor says there are 6 stones out there and Thanos already has the Power Stone because he stole it a week ago after he decimated Xandar.
The Guardians all looked around sad to hear about what Thanos did to Xandar.
Thor says Thanos stole the Space Stone from him when he destroyed his ship and killed half his people.
"So the other half is still out there somewhere." Thor said, trying to think a little more positively.
"That's good... I guess." Valkyrie said.
Thor says the Time and Mind Stones are on Earth safe with the Avengers.
Quill asks who the Avengers are.
Thor says they're Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Mantis asks if they're like Kevin Bacon.
"Oh, you got Mantis in on it too?" Tony asked.
Thor says he might be on the team but he doesn't know because he hasn't been there in a while before saying that no one's ever seen the Soul Stone or knows where it is therefore Thanos can't get it. Gamora makes a face.
"You know where the stone is." Fury said.
Gamora was silent for a moment. "I do." She confirmed. "But I can't tell you where it is, the more people who know the less leverage we have against Thanos."
Thor says Thanos is going to Knowhere for the Reality Stone.
Gamora says they need to go to Knowhere.
Thor says the need to go to Nidavellir.
"Why do you need to go there?" Loki asked.
"Did you miss the part where he said he needed a hammer not a spoon?" Valkyrie asked.
Drax says that's a made up word.
Thor says all words are made up.
"I mean... you're not wrong." Rhodey said.
Rocket is surprised to hear that Nidavellir is real and says it's a legend. He says they make the most powerful and horrific weapons to ever torment the Universe there and tells Thor that he'd very much like to go there.
"You seem a little too excited about this." Okoye said.
Thor says Rocket is correct and calls him a rabbit.
"I'm not a rabbit." Rocket protested.
Thor says that Rocket is clearly the smartest among them and says only Eitri the Dwarf can craft the weapon he needs and says he assumes Rocket is the Captain.
Rocket says Thor is very perceptive.
"No. I-I'm the Captain." Quill said.
Thor says Rocket seems like noble leader and asks him to join him on his quest to Nidavellir.
Rocket says he should asks the Captain before stating that it's him and says he'll go.
Quill says he's the Captain.
Thor tells him to be quiet.
"You're such an asshole." Tony laughed.
Thor grabs Quill's backpack.
Quill says that's his backpack.
Rocket tells Quill to sit back down.
"No, I don't think I will." Quill said.
Quill says this is his ship and asks what kind of weapon they're talking about.
Thor says it's the Thanos killing kind.
Quill asks if they should all have a weapon with that.
"Well, you don't have the strength to even wield it so... probably not." Thor said.
Thor says they lack the strength to wield them and says their bodies would crumble as their minds collapsed onto madness.
Rocket asks if it's weird that he wants to do it even more.
"Kind of..." Gamora said.
Gamora says if they don't go to Knowhere and Thanos gets another stone he'll be too powerful to stop. Thor says he already is.
"He's right, if Thanos is that powerful with only 2 stones, imagine what'll happen if he gets more." Carol said.
Rocket says he's figured it out and says that they have 2 ships and a large assortment of morons so he and Groot will go with Thor and the rest of them can go to Knowhere to stop Thanos.
"Did you just call us morons?" Mantis asked.
Thor and Rocket get in the pod. Quill says he knows Rocket is only going with Thor because it's where Thanos isn't.
"I don't really blame him." Happy said.
Rocket says Quill shouldn't talk that way to his Captain.
"You're not my Captain." Quill said.
Rocket tells Groot to put the game away or he'll rot his brain. Thor bids the others farewell and good luck and calls them morons. Mantis waves as the pod drops out of the ship.
"And the God-man called us morons too." Quill sighed.
'Scotland' appears on the screen. Wanda and Vision are in a hotel room, Vision is in human form.
"I have a human form?" Vision asked.
A high pitched noise is heard. Vision touches the stone in his head. Wanda asks if its the stone again.
Vision says it's as if it's speaking to him.
"It very well could be." Strange said.
Wanda walks up to him and asks what it said.
Vision says he doesn't know but it's something.
"Based off of what we've seen recently, it's probably a warning." Wanda said.
The noise comes back, Wanda touches the sides of Vision's head and Vision kisses her hand.
"Oh... are you two together then... in the future?" Hope asked. Wanda and Vision only glanced at each other.
Vision places her hand on the stone and asks what she feels.
Wanda briefly uses her powers on the stone and says she just feels him. They kiss.
"Aww." Everyone said.
Later, they walk through the city. Wanda says there's a 10:00am to Glasgow which would give them more time together before he goes back.
"Goes back where? The Compound?" Tony wondered.
Vision asks what if he misses that train.
Wanda says there's an 11:00am.
Vision asked what if he missed all the trains.
"Are you planning on staying with me?" Wanda asked, smiling.
Vision asks what if he didn't go back this time.
Wanda says he gave Tony his word.
Vision says he'd rather give it to her.
Wanda says there are people expecting her too and they both made promises.
"It's a hard choice, between love and duty." T'Challa said.
Vision says they didn't make promises to each other and then says that they've stolen moments for 2 years to see if this could work then stutters through his sentence and says he'll speak for himself and they agree that it works.
"So what's next then?" Wanda wondered.
"I don't know?" Vision said.
Vision asks Wanda to stay with him.
Wanda notices something behind him and watches news footage of the ship in New York and asks who they are.
Vision says they're what the stone warned him about.
"So it was a warning..." Wanda said softly.
"The Black Order is coming for me next." Vision said.
A reporter states that Tony is missing.
"I hope you find your way back to Earth." Rhodey said to his friend
Vision kisses Wanda's hand and says he needs to go.
Wanda says if that's true then going isn't the best idea. Vision gets stabbed by Glaive.
"Vision!" The Avengers gasped, worried.
"Oh God." Wanda choked.
"How did that cut you? I didn't think that was possible you're made with Vibranium." Bruce said.
Glaive throws Vision to the ground. Wanda tries to use her magic on him but Proxima sends her through a nearby building. Glaive puts the tip of his weapon into the stone.
"No no no no no." Everyone said quietly.
Wanda uses her magic to send them both away, then uses magic to get herself and Vision to a safer place.
Everyone sighed, some of the tension leaving their shoulders.
Vision says the blade stopped him from phasing.
"How can it do that?" Sam wondered.
Wanda asks if that's possible.
Vision says it isn't supposed to be then says his systems are failing. Wanda heals most of his wound. Vision says he thinks they should've stayed in bed.
"They still would've come for us." Wanda said.
Glaive grabs Vision and starts slamming him into buildings. Wanda starts fighting Proxima.
Wanda and Vision grip each others' hands, both tense.
Glaive tells Vision to give up the stone and Wanda will live. Vision chokes him and they go flying into a clocktower.
Proxima blasts Wanda with her weapon and sends her to the ground.
"God, how powerful are their weapons?" Valkyrie wondered.
Proxima goes to stab Wanda, Wanda uses magic to block her.
Vision uses Glaive's spear to keep him against the wall then throws him across the roof the uses the Mind Stone to shoot a beam at him, Glaive blocks it and sends it back at him.
"How the hell is that possible?" Tony asked.
Wanda hears Vision scream and sends Proxima into a nearby car.
Glaive holds his weapon to the stone.
"Shit!" Everyone gasped.
Wanda sends a blast at Glaive and knocks him into the elevator shaft of the tower.
"Thank god."
Wanda gets herself and Vision away. Proxima sends a blast from her weapon at them causing them to fall onto a nearby building.
"Oh no." Wanda said.
Wanda tells Vision that they have to go.
Vision tells her to leave.
Wanda says Vision asked her to stay and says she's staying. Proxima and Glaive crash through the roof.
"That's not good." Sam said.
Wanda stands up ready for a fight, Steve stands behind a train, Proxima throws her weapon at him, he catches it.
"Bet she didn't expect that." Steve said.
Steve steps into the light.
"Oh, you have a beard now." Tony noted.
Sam flies in and kicks Proxima in the chest then sends some missiles at Glaive. Steve throws the weapon to Natasha who stabs Glaive with it.
"Nice." Natasha said.
"And you're blond now." Tony noted.
Natasha takes the weapon out and throws it back to Steve who uses it to fend off Proxima, Natasha starts fighting Proxima as well, Sam flies in and kicks her again.
Proxima tells Glaive to get up.
Glaive says he can't.
Natasha says they don't want to kill them but they will.
"I think you should." Fury said.
Proxima says they'll never get the chance again and they get sucked through a tractor beam along with the weapon Steve took from Proxima.
"And now they're gone." Maria sighed.
The 3 of them walk over to Vision and Wanda, Sam helps Vision up. Vision thanks Steve.
Steve says they should get to the jet.
On the jet, Natasha tells Wanda that they had a deal where they would stay close, check in and not take chances.
"Sorry..." Wanda trailed off. She didn't know why she was apologizing for something she hadn't done yet but it felt like the right thing to do especially since it was Natasha scolding her.
Wanda apologizes and says they just wanted time.
Sam asks Steve where they're going.
Steve says they're going home.
"Back to New York I guess." Steve said.
In the past, Young Gamora is being held by her mother as an attack happens outside.
"Is that you?" Quill asked. Gamora nodded then looked away, not wanting to witness this again.
The Chitauri attack the planet as the citizens run for their lives.
The original 6 Avengers and Loki were reminded of the attack on New York.
Gamora is looking for her mother as she's dragged into a line. Maw tells the citizens to choose a side or die. Thanos sees Gamora and asks her what's wrong.
"Well... you are invading the planet and killing people so maybe that has something to do with it." Rocket said.
Gamora asks where her mother is.
Thanos asks her what her name is. Gamora tells it to him. Thanos says she's quite the fighter then tells her to let him help her. Gamora walks with him.
Everyone glared at Thanos.
Thanos takes out a switchblade and opens it, balances it on his finger and says it's perfectly balanced as all things should be. He hands it to Gamora and tells her to try it.
Gamora balances the blade on her finger then tries to look at the massacre behind her but Thanos redirects her attention to the blade.
"Is this what would've happened to Earth if the Avengers hadn't stopped it?" Peter asked. The silence from Loki was answer enough.
In the present, Gamora holds the same knife.
"You kept it?" Drax asked.
Quill asks if she knows if the grenades are the blow- off- your- junk kind or the gas kind because he was thinking of putting some on his belt.
Gamora says she needs a favor and says that one way or another the path they're on leads to Thanos.
Quill says that's what the grenades are for.
"Are you incapable of being serious?" Maria asked.
Quill asks what the favor is.
Gamora asks Quill to promise he'll kill her if Thanos gets her.
"What?" The guardians asked.
"Gamora..." Quill said quietly.
"I know where the Soul Stone is, if he gets me then..." Gamora trailed off letting the rest of the sentence hand in the air.
Gamora says she knows something Thanos doesn't and if he finds it out the entire universe could be at risk.
Quill asks what she knows.
Gamora says if she told him he'd know too.
"Me knowing is dangerous enough." Gamora said.
Quill says he should know if it's so important.
Gamora says that's only if he wants to die.
Quill asks why someone always has to die in the scenario.
"I- I really don't like what this is coming to." Quill said.
"I don't either." Gamora said.
Gamora says she needs him to trust her and possibly kill her.
Quill jokes that he'd like to kill her.
Gamora asks him to swear to her on his mother.
"This is getting serious." Rocket said.
Quill agrees and they kiss. A crunching noise is heard in the distance and they break apart. Drax is standing there watching.
"Creepy." Pepper said.
"We should put a bell on you." Quill said.
Quill asks him how long he's been standing there.
Drax says it's been an hour.
"An hour? Seriously?" Rocket asked.
Gamora asks if he's serious.
Drax says he's mastered the ability of standing so incredibly still that he becomes invisible to the eye.
"Yeah... that can't be true." Quill said.
Drax tells them to watch and lifts some food to his mouth.
Quill says he's eating a zarg-nut.
Drax says his movement is so slow that it's imperceptible.
"Um... no." Gamora said.
Drax says he's sure he's invisible. Mantis walks in and greets Drax. Drax walks away, frustrated.
Everyone laughed. "Idiots." Nebula muttered.
'Knowhere' appears on screen. The guardians fly into the celestial head.
"It looks like everyone has left." Mantis said.
Quill notes that it's deserted.
Drax reads movement in the 3rd quadrant.
Quill says he's picking up on it too.
"That's not as assuring as I'd like it to be." Quill said.
Quill ands the ship and they get off. They walk into a building.
The Collector tells Thanos that he doesn't have it.
Thanos says the entire galaxy knows and says the Collector would sell out his own brother if he thought it would add the slightest trinket to his pathetic collection.
"It looks like Thanos beat you there." Rhodey said.
Quill holds up a hand as a signal to stop moving, the others walk past him.
Quill just sighed, annoyed.
Thanos tells the Collector that he knows he has the Reality Stone.
"Shit." The Guardians said.
Thanos says giving him the stone will spare him a great deal of suffering then steps on the Collector's chest.
The Collector says he sold it and asks why he would lie.
Thanos says lying is like breathing for him.
"Well, he's not wrong about that." Gamora said.
The Collector says it's like suicide.
Thanos notes that he does understand and says not even he would surrender something so precious.
The Collector says he didn't know what it was.
"That's a lie." Loki said.
"Of course it's a lie he knows exactly what they are, he put on a whole light show and everything." Rocket said.
Thanos says The Collector is more the fool he took him for then asks where the stone is.
Drax says Thanos will pay for the deaths of his wife and daughter.
"Okay not let's not rush anything..." Gamora said, remembering what happened when Drax got too vengeful and tried to take on Ronan alone.
"He killed my wife and daughter." Drax said angrily.
"And he'll kill you too if we're not careful." Gamora said.
Drax pulls out a knife. Quill tries to stop him and says he doesn't have the stone yet and they can stop him if they get it. Drax rushes forward, Mantis touches his head and makes him sleep.
"Thank you." Quill said to Mantis.
Thanos looks over at them and they hide. Thanos locks The Collector in a case.
Quill tells Gamora and Mantis to go right. Gamora sneaks off. Quill says he meant the other right.
"There is no 'other right' you have left or right pick one." Hank said.
Gamora takes her sword out and charges toward Thanos who takes the blade and breaks it. Gamora swings it at his neck, then takes out the switchblade and stabs him in the chest.
"Well that was... surprisingly easy." Clint said, suspiciously.
Thanos clutches the blade in his chest and asks her why.
"Do you really want me to answer that question?" Gamora practically growled.
Thanos collapses and 'dies'. Gamora starts crying.
"You still care about him?" Natasha asked, seeing some signs of Stockholm Syndrome in Gamora's response to hurting Thanos.
"I wish I didn't." Gamora answered.
Drax wakes up, Quill notes that that was quick.
The Collector claps and says that was magnificent.
"So he's still very eccentric and... crazy." Valkyrie said.
Thanos asks Gamora if he senses sadness in her and says in his heart he knew she still cared but one never knows for sure.
"No." Gamora gasped.
The scene around Knowhere is stripped away by the Reality Stone and it's actually burning.
"Oh god." Everyone said, shocked.
Thanos says reality is often disappointing then holds up the gauntlet with the Reality Stone inside.
"Damn it." Drax cursed.
"He knew we were coming the whole time." Gamora sighed. "Why else would he have put on that show for us?"
"It was a trap and we walked right into it." Quill said.
Thanos says reality can be whatever he wants.
Gamora says he knew she'd come.
Thanos says he counted on it.
"Why?"
Thanos says there's something they need to discuss.
"He couldn't have figured out what you know... right?" Rocket asked.
Gamora reaches for her sword, Thanos grabs her by the scruff of her neck. Drax charges at Thanos who uses the Reality Stone to turn him into blocks then uses it again to turn Mantis into strings.
"What the hell?" Ned asked.
Quill walks out with a gun and tells Thanos to let Gamora go and calls him Grimace.
"Grimace. Good one." Scott said.
Quill tells Gamora that he told her to go right and tells Thanos to let her go.
Thanos recognizes Quill as Gamora's boyfriend.
Quill says he thinks of himself as a long-term Titan-killing booty-call.
"Really?" Gamora asked.
Quill tells Thanos to let her go or he'll blow the nut sack of a chin off his face.
Gamora reminds Quill of his promise. Quill reluctantly lowers his gun to Gamora's face.
"Gamora." Peter said, quietly tears clouding his vision. Gamora grabs his hand.
Thanos says Gamora expects too much from Quill and tells Quill that she asked then moves her closer to Quill and tells him to do it.
Peter says he told her to go right.
Gamora says she loves him more than anything.
"I'm sorry." Quill whispered, the tears in his eyes finally falling.
"I asked you to do it." Gamora said, tears in her eyes too. "It's going to be okay."
Quill says he loves her too then pulls the trigger but bubbles come out.
"What?" Quill asked.
Thanos says he likes Quill then uses the Space Stone to escape with Gamora.
"No!" Gamora yelled.
"He's playing a very sick game." Carol said, referring to Thanos.
Mantis and Drax piece back together and Quill picks up Gamora's sword.
