(A/N) They/Them/Theirs as pronouns for some of the Skrulls in this part.

Two Skrulls trudge through the water om Earth.

"Oh great... they're here." Sam said.

"They're here." Peter repeated in a high pitched voice.

"Stop that. That movie was terrifying and I don't want to remember it." Scott said.

Talos sees a surfer and transforms into her and tells the others to find Carol and says she knows more than she knows.

"How does that even work?" Quill asked. "Knowing more than you know?"

"I means you know something but you don't know that you know something." Ned said, though the end of his sentence had more of a questioning tone than an informative one.

The other Skrulls take the forms of the rest of the surfers, one takes the form Talos has much to his dismay as he tells the other that the form is already taken.

A few people snickered at Talos' reaction.

Carol hooks her gauntlet up to a phone booth and contacts her team.

The people from Earth, save Coulson and Fury, were shocked at how she managed to contact them. Methods of communication into space or between planets were still an unknown to them.

Carol gives the code when prompted and sarcastically says she's fine and thanks them for asking then asks if they're all okay and asks what happened.

Yon-Rogg says it was a Skrull ambush and says he thought they'd lost her.

Carol gave an almost bitter sounding laugh.

Yon-Rogg asks if she found Soh-Larr.

Carol says it wasn't Soh-Larr and tells them Talos simmed him and knew his code.

Yon-Rogg says that's impossible because the code was buried in his unconscious.

"Don't you mean his subconscious?" Clint asked.

"Different species, different lingo I guess... even if they're speaking English." Maria said.

"Even if the code was buried deep in Soh-Larr's mind... the Skrulls have technology to look into people's buried or forgotten memories- so could they not have extracted it using that technology?" Vision proposed.

Carol says the Skrulls messed with her mind and she thinks they used the same machine to extract the code.

"Well there you go. That's how they did it." Hope said.

Yon-Rogg asks her where she is. Carol says she's on c-53 and tells them that the Skrulls are looking for Lawson and confesses that it's who she sees, much to Yon-Rogg's confusion.

"Why is he so confused... I thought it was pretty obvious what you were referring to."

Carol leaves the sentence open ended and tells them that Lawson's a scientist and the Skrulls think she's cracked the code to light-speed tech so she needs to get to her before the Skrulls or else they'd be able to invade new galaxies.

"That's a scary thought." Gamora said.

Yon-Rogg tells her not to because she's been caught once already before asking Att-Lass how far c-53 is.

"Why don't you just let her help... she's got the knowledge and she's already there... unlike the rest of you. You'd think they'd want this to be done as quickly as possible." Nebula said.

Att-Lass says the closed jump point is 22 hours away.

Yon-Rogg tells Carol to stay where she is until they arrive and to keep her comms online. Carol goes to say something before the call gets interrupted by a long distance warning.

A few people giggled at that, wondering how such a simple concept could affect such advanced alien technology.

Korath tells Yon-Rogg that Carol would be compromised if the Skrulls get to her.

Yon-Rogg says Carol is stronger than they think.

"Yeah, no shit." Sam said.

"And yet... he didn't want me to use that strength when we sparred." Carol said.

Bron-Char asks Minn-Erva if she's ever been to C-53. Minn- Erva says she's been once and calls it shithole.

"Hey!" All the people from Earth (including Quill) shouted, offended.

"Earth might not be perfect." Fury started. "Far from it" He added under his breath. He received a few incredulous looks. "-but it is not a shithole." He finished.

"I'd wager Sakaar is worse." Valkyrie said.

Some police cars arrive near where Carol is. Coulson approaches the officer Carol spoke with the previous night and asks if he's the one who called it in.

"Phil!" The original Avengers yelled excitedly, save Tony who yelled "Agent!"

The officer points Coulson in the direction of Carol who's trying to contact her team again. Fury knocks on the window and takes off his sunglasses.

"Holy shit." Tony said, to shocked by the sight of a Fury with hair and both eyes to say much else.

"Does this mean- are we gonna see how you lost your eye?" Natasha asked, remembering overhearing (Definitely not eavesdropping. She would never) conversations between Carol and Fury when the topic of his missing eye was brought up. She suspected that Carol may have had something to do with it, whether it was direct or not she wasn't sure.

Fury asks if she knows anything about a lady blowing a hole through the roof of a blockbuster and tells her that the witnesses say she was dressed for lasertag.

"In my defense- it wasn't technically my fault." Carol said. "I fell."

Carol says she thinks the lady went the other way and tries to leave.

'Good luck trying to leave when Nick Fury of all people wants to speak with you.' Natasha, Clint, Steve, Tony, Bruce, Coulson, Maria and Thor all thought, maybe not all the same sentence, but variations of it.

Fury stops her and says he'd like to ask her some questions and give her the 411 on the late night drop box.

Tony and Clint both snorted at that.

Fury asks her for identifications.

Carol says her name is Vers and she's with the Starforce and says they don't carry their identification on little cards.

"You leave our little cards alone." Peter said in a joking manner.

Fury asks her how long she's in town for.

Carol says she'll be out of his hair as soon as she finds the Skrulls that are infiltrating Earth.

"I just wanna know... what was going through your mind at that moment?" Carol asked, now knowing Fury, at that time, had no clue about what she was talking about.

"I thought you were either high or crazy." Fury said.

"Good to know." Carol said.

Carol explains that Skrulls are shapeshifters that can transform into any life form down to it's DNA.

"Any life form? Does that include plants and animals?" Shuri asked.

Carol paused for a second. "I've never seen them do that before." She said. Not a yes and not a no, but she didn't have an answer.

Carol realizes they don't know what she's talking about then goes to leave again.

Fury stops her and asks how they know she isn't a Skrull.

"I mean... it's a good question." Scott said.

Carol congratulates him on finally asking a relevant question.

Fury rolled his eyes, exasperatedly.

Fury congratulates her on being under arrest. A Skrull on a nearby building shoots at them, Carol pushes Fury out of the way then fires at the building and goes after the Skrull. Fury and Coulson get in their car.

"Why is he calling you 'Rook'?" Tony asked.

"Because at that time, Coulson was just a Rookie agent." Fury answered.

Fury asks Coulson if he saw her weapon.

Coulson says he didn't.

Everyone snorted at how nonchalantly Phil answered Fury's question.

"In the words of Alastor Moody: Constant Vigilance." Peter said.

Carol sees the Skrull running up some stairs. She chases him up and the the Skrull lets an old woman off the train before getting on.

"That was a weird time for manners but okay." Clint said.

Carol reaches the train, bumps onto the old woman, then chases after the train as it starts to leave. She grabs onto the train and as it passes, Fury sees her and chases the train, narrowly avoiding cars.

"Drive on the right side of the road." Pepper scolded.

"Yeah, Fury what are you doing ignoring the rules of the road?" Carol asked. "You know better."

Carol punches through the window and boards the train. She sees an old man (Stan Lee) reading a 'Mallrats' script and smiles at him.

"There he is again." Rhodey pointed out. "I'm anticipating this guys appearance now like 'Where will he be next?."

Carol gets onto a different car and sees the old woman and punches her across the face.

"What the hell!? You're just gonna hit an old woman?" Happy asked.

"It's not the old woman, remember the old woman got off the train earlier." Natasha said.

The Skrull swings on a pole to kick Carol in the chest.

"Damn, granny's got moves." Ned said.

Carol slams the Skrull's head into a pole then slams them on the floor. The Skrull swings arpund another pole, and kicks Carol who tackles them and punches them in the face before the passengers pull her off and the Skrull leaves.

"Damn, they got away." Gamora sighed.

Carol sees a glowing purple stone that the Skrull left behind.

"What's that? What does that do?" Peter asked, hoping it wasn't similar to the glowing purple rocks that the Chitauri had because... well we all know how that worked out.

Carol breaks free, grabs the stone and continues in the direction the Skrull went. The Skrull pops up in front of the window, midway through shifting.

"That's terrifying." Sam said. The Skrulls shapeshifting was a little unsettling. Interesting yes, but unsettling nonetheless.

"Very... unsettling to some." Carol commented.

The Skrull shifts into a blond man with glasses and a red sweater then jumps onto the top of the train, Carol follows them up and the Skrull kicks her. The Skrull accidentally touches a wire and gets electrocuted.

"Ouch." Scott winced.

"Yeah. getting electrocuted isn't fun." Tony said.

"You say that like you've had extensive experience." Bruce said.

"No comment." Tony replied.

Carol and the Skrull continue their fight, the Skrull nearly kicks her off the train. A piece of the train falls onto Fury's car.

Coulson tells Fury that the train is headed for a tunnel. Fury says they'll see them at the station and turns around.

"Well... you'll see them at the station should they continue on the train rather than jumping off." Natasha said.

Carol uses her powers to blast the Skrull, then jumps back into the train.

Fury gets a call from Coulson who tells him he's still at Blockbuster.

"I imagine that gave you quite the start." Valkyrie said.

Coulson asks where everyone went.

"That's a bit of a long story." Peter said. "You see, this alien girl showed up and these other aliens followed her and now they're fighting and the other aliens can shapeshift. It's a whole thing, sorry you missed out."

"I would've liked to have been there." Coulson said.

"I imagine you would." Carol agreed. Having seen Coulson in his later years thanks to these films, this sort of thing seemed like it would be right up his alley.

The Skrull in Fury's car attempts to shoot hi and they start choking each other. Fury grabs the steering wheel, swerves and the Skrull dies as it crashes.

"Well that's one of them taken care of." Clint said.

Carol looked like she wanted to say something but refrained, what she was going to tell them would more than likely be revealed later anyway.

The train stops at a station, Carol steps out and the civilians give her weird looks.

"Yeah, if you plan on staying and keeping a low-ish profile, you might want to invest in civilian clothes." Bucky said.

Carol spots a man in a red sweater and goes to punch him in the face, when she realizes he's not a Skrull she lowers her fist and looks around.

"I hate it when they get away." Natasha said.

"Yeah, it's a real pain." Carol agreed.

Carol leaves the subway station.

Fury glances at the dead Skrull and gets out of the car then covers it's face with his jacket. Law enforcement tries to help but Fury tells them to stay back.

"Good thinking, probably wise to keep as few people involved with this as possible." Steve said.

Carol puts the purple rock in her gauntlet. 'Dr. Wendy Lawson: Pegasus' appears as a hologram along with various other information.

"So that's what it does." Peter said, happy to have satisfied his curiosity. Though the images it produced raised many more questions than it answered.

Carol goes to a library and looks up the name 'Pancho's' on one of the computers.

"Oh no, not the single finger typing." Shuri said.

"I wasn't familiar with how keyboards worked at the time." Carol defended.

A warning saying the devise has been disconnected pops up on the screen. Carol grabs a map and goes outside to look at it. A man on a motorcycle compliments her 'SCUBA suit.'

'Oh god, this guy.' Carol thought to herself, remembering how annoying he was.

"It what universe does that look like a SCUBA suit?" Sam asked.

When Carol ignores him, he tells her to lighten up, calls her 'Honey' and asks her to smile for him.

Everyone in the room rolled their eyes at the man. Carol made it clear she didn't wanna talk and he still tried to get her attention.

When Carol continues to ignore him, the man calls her a freak and walks inside a shop.

"What, because she didn't want to talk to you? With a personality like that I can only wonder why." Pepper said, sarcastically.

Carol steals some clothes off a mannequin and steals the man's bike.

"You stole his motorcycle, I love that." MJ laughed.

"The opportunity presented itself. Who was I to say no." Carol said.

SHIELD scientists examine the Skrull. One of them notes that unlike the life on Earth, the Skrull isn't carbon based and whatever he does run on isn't on the periodic table.

"That's... interesting, though I can't say it's surprising that there are probably thousands more elements on space that we have never heard of before." Bruce said.

Fury asks if the scientist is saying the Skrull isn't from around there.

"Obviously." Carol said.

The doctor asks about Fury's eye.

"Wait... is this how you lost it?" Tony asked.

"No, that comes later, when he meets a friend of mine." Carol answered before Fury could even open his mouth.

Fury says he'd say its fine but he can't believe what he's seeing.

"Well you better start believing it pretty soon." Rocket said.

The director mentions that Fury said the Skrull looked like Coulson.

Fury says it talked like him too.

"So they can mimic appearance and voices. These guys are probably gonna be very tough to find." Happy said.

The director mentions that Carol said there were more.

Fury says Carol used the word infiltration.

"Why would they want to infiltrate Earth if they're only looking for a scientist? That's what I want to know." Howard said.

The director asks Fury if he believes her.

Fury says he didn't until he saw the Skrull.

"Sometimes you need to see things in order to believe them." T'Challa agreed.

"I guess aliens are one of those things, where people want to believe that they exist but they need visual proof." Ned said.

The director asks Fury what his plan is.

Fury says he'll find Carol, and says he got word on a motorcycle thief with her description and says she can tell them why the Skrulls are there and how to get kick them to the curb.

"Did you just call Skrulls Lizards?" Carol asked.

"They do kind of look like humanoid lizards." Peggy said.

The director tells Fury to do it alone because they don't trust anyone even their own men.

"I swear if that man is a Skrull..." Maria said, leaving the sentence to go unfinished.

Fury peeks under the blanket that's covering the Skrull from the waist down.

"Fury!" The Avengers and SHIELD agents all shouted, scandalized.

Fury leaves the room. The director calls the SKrulls ugly bastards.

The doctor agrees, saying that the SKrull is no Brad Pitt.

"Brad Pitt looks like off brand John Cena." Peter said.

"He's pretty Mid, to be honest." Ned agreed.

The director wishes the Skrull a safe journey to the beyond and says he'll finish what they started.

Maria's eyes widened when she realized that her prediction earlier was correct.

The doctor tells the director not to get too close to the Skrull.

"Bit late for that." Bucky said.

The director tells the doctor that no one should come in or out of the room and leaves.
