Izuku strained his head to resist looking down. Eri's arms were wrapped around his waist and she was refusing to let go. Sniffles could be heard as Izuku felt tear stain his shirt. His own arms were wrapped around her, small pats being given as a means of comfort.
His mother stood to the side, her own face marked with conflicted concern. Eri had been holding onto him for the past hour and refused to let go. No one said a word, just let her hold on. Inko just gave him a sad smile as Eri began to settle down.
"There there, do you feel better now?" Izuku asked. Eri just sniffed before looking up to him. "No, I don't want you to go." Eri said. "I know, but it's getting far too dangerous for you two to stay in Japan." Izuku said. "But what about you?" Eri asked. "I'll be fine. U.A. and my machines can keep me safe from the villains." Izuku replied. "But...?" Eri tried to ask another question. "Don't worry, you'll get to spend more time with dad. Even get to know him better. Besides, we can still video call every night just to make sure I'm ok." Izuku said as Eri loosened her grasp.
Eri took a step back and looked at him. "Promise?" she asked with teary eyes. "I promise." Izuku said while kneeling down to put his hands on her shoulders. "One more hug?" Eri asked hesitantly. "One more." Izuku said as he held his arms out. Eri rushed in and grabbed hold once more. Inko just gushed before walking over to the two of them.
"Now come on you two, we still have to start packing." She said with a calm face. Izuku nodded as Eri let go. "Ok mama." She said as Inko just smiled at her. "Right mom, let's get this done." Izuku said as they got to work.
They'll be moving out of this house. He'll be moving into a smaller apartment while they'll be moving to I-Island. "Now Eri, we just have to give you English lessons while we keep packing." Izuku said. "Oh, papa's been giving them to me over the phone." Eri responded as Izuku turned to her. "He has?" Izuku asked. "Yep, he wanted to teach me it in case we ever visited him at the mainland." Eri responded. Izuku smiled as Eri beamed.
He patted her on the head before turning back to his work. Mochi strolled past them, his tail swishing back and forth. Izuku took time to look around the house. How Eri only worked under the careful guidance of his mother. How Jnr did any form of heavy lifting with little trouble. The way Mochi just did his own thing the entire time.
This was his family, and he may never see them in person again.
The subtle hum of a life support machine was all Afo could hear from inside his cell in Tatarus. All Might had given him a new hole in his body, a solid hole punched clean through his chest. It made it far more difficult to breath, more difficult to concentrate, more difficult to use his Quirks.
There was a light pause in the humming and Afo felt pain streak through his body. He wasn't sure if they had given him a malfunctioning life support intentionally or unintentionally, but they gave him a malfunctioning one. The humming returned and the pain subsided.
What he would give for some pain killers.
On again, off again, the machines continued their rythm as Afo just remained motionless. A kill switch ready at a moments notice, taking his machine offline permanently should he attempt anything drastic. Taking in a pained breath Afo tensed his arms.
Nothing.
He grit his teeth as pain surged through his body once more. "Damn it all." Afo cursed out in anger. His finger dug into the metal of his chair as his neck tensed. 'Looks like I'll have to rely on Tomura to get me out of here.' Afo surmised as he let out a sigh.
Suddenly the doors to his visiting area opened and Afo knew exactly who it was. Toshinori Yagi, aka All Might, now stood there. The two of them were separated by only a plain of bullet proof glass and a small array of machine guns. "You know why I'm here All For One." Yagi stated with deep anger.
"Oh, what would that be?" Afo quipped before coughing in pain. "The Quirks you stole from the students and teachers All For One." Yagi said. "Ah, but why would I do that?" Afo said. All Might didn't speak, simply snarling at him. "No good deed will reduce my life sentence, nor shall they free me from my numerous death sentences. You have nothing to offer up for trade oaf." Afo said bluntly.
He could feel the intensity from Yagi as he attempted to glare a hole through his skull.
"You will try All Might, you will try." Afo stated as All Might huffed. He heard the hero walk away, the elevator shutting behind him.
Afo was alone once again, only the erratic humming of his life support to accompany him.
Mei hummed to herself as she and the rest of the support course were hard at work. Those students who were kidnapped came back, without their Quirks. Now it was up to Power Loader and the support course to help them out.
Honestly she was amazed by the sheer amount of hero students who chose to remain despite no longer having Quirks.
Now it meant she had free reign.
No one was saying no to her creations. None of her current customers were denying any of her modifications to their existing tech.
They were encouraging it.
Stopping for a second Mei pulled her welding torch away from her current project. A pair of powerful gauntlets designed to aid a student by the name of Kirishima. She already threw in powerful wave tech and hydraulic strength boosters. These babies were but one of many parts being used for an armor that Kirishima requested. Sadly she wasn't allowed to make the whole thing, each was to be a group effort between students.
Her team was actually rather competent. They weren't weirded out by her normal self, simply joining in with enthusiasm as they worked day after day to make this tech.
Her parents would say that she's made friends. She would say that they were already friends. Even the entirety of the first year hero course, those that are still around, were what she'd call friends.
To bad some of them, like the explodey boy who made second place in the Sports festival, just left the school all together.
Nedzu hummed as his two A.I.s organized his various work sheets. He had to thank Midoriya for them, though he still remained suspicious. Thankfully both Delta and Theta proved to be most useful in his work.
He almost felt sorry for having to keep them on a separate network, away from all his truly vital information.
He also had to thank Midoriya for unintentionally inspiring his Hero Course. If he hadn't given his speech, as simple and blunt as it had been, then he would have lost more of his students.
Now they just had to get them into proper condition for heroics. Many of those students now had to fight entirely Quirkless, stripped of the unique capabilities brought on by their old Quirks. They would have to add entirely new curriculums to teach such fighting styles. Train them all to use more than just their Quirks.
...
Would you look at that, he already has the perfect array of staff for such a situation.
Maybe he'll even get bragging rights over the H.P.S.C. President, show her that a bunch of Quirkless kids could be heroes. It would be quite the sight, he just wished it didn't come at the cost of his own student's health.
Anyway, they still have school work to do. A few simply modifications to the schedule and the reconfiguration of U.A. into a boarding school and they'll be set.
Now all he has to do is convince the warden at Tartarus to just pull Afo's plug, better to be safe than sorry.
Within the lair, something awakened. Beneath a desk, comforted by the loud echoes of the entire site being moved around underground, something emerged. The flesh and metal of it's old self gave way like a chrysalis as an object slid out.
It form was sleeker, far more human like than its prior self. A pair of bright green eyes looked out at its surroundings. Steady breaths left its mouth as it stood up. "I... I feel... Wait, do I have lips now?" the figure asked.
